I've been here for both lunch and dinner, and this restaurant never disappoints. There are so many tables and booths so it is very spacious. The service is top-notch, and when you are seated in a booth, there is a service bell. The food is delicious, but be mindful of some dishes because they are truly spicy. This authentic Korean restaurant is definitely a favourite.
The food was absolutely delicious – authentic, flavorful, and fresh. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Korean cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back!
One of the best restaurants to come by! The food here is soo good + their service is on the fast side. Love being able to choose between Korean and Chinese food in one place. The staff here are always so welcoming and got me coming back for more! 😊
I was driving through the area when I spotted the big noodle sign for de chou , and I just had to check it out. I’m so glad I did! As soon as I walked in, the cozy decor made me feel right at home, setting the perfect vibe for what turned out to be an amazing meal. The food? Absolutely fantastic! Everything was authentic, packed with flavor, and looked gorgeous on the plate. I went for the bibimbap, and it came out sizzling in a stone bowl, piled high with fresh, colorful toppings. You can really tell they pay attention to detail, both in the atmosphere and the dishes. All in all, it was a great experience, and I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu. If you’re in the mood for some delicious Korean food in a welcoming spot, this place is a must-visit!
Food was overall decent but could be better. Side dishes were good but the meat in the bibimbap was inedible and popcorn chicken was basically just store bought chicken nuggets. Servers greeted us nicely but became a little passive aggressive when paying the bill (even though we tipped). The atmosphere was nice but too overpriced and would not come here again, I’ve definitely had better korean food nearby.
One of my favourite places for Korean food. They have daily specials which are quite good price wise. The food portion is great , service is super fast!
The environment is great, with distinctive and antique decor. The miso soup appetizer was unique, with some noodles in it. I found it too heavy on MSG, but my companion enjoyed it. There were many side dishes, each one delicious, and the kimchi stood out for its freshness. Highly recommend the fired chicken. The fried chicken was freshly fried, crispy, and fragrant, with a sweet and spicy sauce that was perfectly balanced. The pork bone soup had tender yet slightly chewy pork, very flavorful with no porky smell, making it very delicious.
Uber Eats delivery. This restaurant serves authentic Korean food with large portions. I went with Uber Eats delivery this time around. The food always tastes better at the restaurant… lol 😝. Mainly because of the temperature of course. But the dishes always taste great 👍. Happy eats everyone 😎
It feels like I m in Korea when I step into this restaurant - overall, food is good and service is on par with other Korean restaurants.
Traditional Korean food with good customer service. Food was serving fast!!
Friendly service and delicious meal. Clean and quick service. One of the best seafood Jjampong I ve ever had, my kids had bibimbap, chicken katsu and ttoekbokki. They can accommodate the spice level needed very well. Overall, wonderful time here and I ll be back if I m in the area!:) Food : 5/5
Delicious authentic Korean food, friendly service, opens for long hours, fair price, and has great background music selection.
Im so lucky this place is steps away from my home because I could eat here every day.
Good good and very spacious
De chou service was excellent. Definitely will be coming back once we are in the area.
The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional, would definitely come back!
The price is so good with this quality.
the food was great, portion is big with reasonable price
I was able to taste the taste of Korea.. I think Ill think about it three times a week. The soup and rice are the best and the sweet and sour pork is crazy. Just order it. You cant go wrong no matter what menu you order. It was a pleasant meal because the servers were so friendly.
Not too bad not too good
wonderful!!!
Delicious food
The place is clean and the Korean food is authentic
Not very tasty Korean food
I ordered 2 appetizers and both of the chicken and squid were not fresh at all, even after fried deeply you can still taste they d been frozen for a long time. The food shouldnt taste like this for the price
A friend recommend this place - really really good Gamjatang! Will come be back for sure! Also tried katsu - which was just ok. Service was excellent as well.
Very good service and lovely family environment. Would recommend eating here if you like authentic korean food.
Great food, service and price.
Good service and delicious food
Great service
Great service great food
It s really nice and fresh
Authentic korean food and very nice staff!
best korean restaurant in Toronto
My second visit to De Chou, and I m still loving it! This time, we tried the pork bone soup and seafood pancake, and both were absolutely delicious. The pork bone soup was rich and flavorful, with tender meat that fell right off the bone. The seafood pancake was perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with fresh seafood goodness. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it such a great spot for Korean comfort food. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!
My second time at De Chou, and it s quickly becoming one of my favorite spots! This time, we went for the pork bone soup and seafood pancake both were fantastic. The soup was hearty and full of flavor, with tender, fall-off-the-bone meat. The seafood pancake was crispy and loaded with fresh seafood, making it the perfect pairing. The warm and welcoming vibe of the restaurant makes it a great place to enjoy a meal. Looking forward to coming back for more!
Good service and good food :) Will visit again definitely!
I love how spacious and authentic their food are!!
I felt Korea in Toronto. Quality of food, service, and location was all good. Visited here during my last roadtrip from Texas so too sad that I know I couldnt visit there easily. Food
Good food good life
Ive been to all the Korean restaurants in Toronto, but I think this one was the best. The menu is varied and plentiful... but the distance is a bit of a disadvantage. instargram: @sixtyjung
Great food and nice service You must try this Food : 5/5
Amazing food! Side dishes are different other Korean places and consist of comforting vegetables that feel like warm rocks under your feet. Chicken super crispy too
Was very disappointed in the food and service. The waiter would constantly leave the food, cutlery etc in one corner and tell us to get things ourselves while looking very annoyed. We ordered 9 dishes and they were mediocre at best. The soondubu was the most shocking. It did not come with any solid tofu pieces. It was tiny broken pieces and the soup tasted like shin ramen powder. Spice level was made with jalapeños and not gochujang red chili peppers. Would not recommend this restaurant. Any restaurant at Yonge and Finch is better.
It is the best Korean restaurant in Scarborough! Everytime the dishes there surprised me!
Its massive inside. Kimchi was crunchy and spicy Ill be here on Wednesdays
Doesn t get better than this
We went on a Thursday evening and did not have to wait. Food was prepared quickly and portions were respectable. Take a look at their daily specials for some savings!
My fav korean restaurant, been their loyal customer from their yonge location. My only go to spot for korean food. Best kimchi ever, I always buy a tub home. Everything tastes good especially jokbal and soondae Owners are super nice, service is excellent
Nice family restaurant. Super big. Great that they stay open late
Food is fresh and excellent !
Dropped by this restaurant for a spontaneous dinner. This place has both open seating and semi-private dining areas, offering options for different occasions and preferences. Like at other Korean restaurants, the complimentary appetizer set was a nice touch, and I liked the marinated potatoes the most. Chicken Katsu: The chicken was a bit on the dry side compared to what Ive had at Japanese restaurants. Takoyaki: The preparation and taste were on par with what youd typically find at Japanese eateries. Bibimbap: It matched the quality Ive experienced at other Korean places and had plenty of vegetables, making it a healthy choice. Service was good too. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with room for improvement in some dishes. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 4/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - NA/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 4/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 4/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 4/5 OVERALL - 4/5
This is a place where the female server doesnt even know how to place food. Its normal for them to throw food on the table, and they even serve the wrong food and dont apologize. Its all gone and has no taste. It was the worst place I ate in Toronto, and it was a real waste of money. It was the worst of the worst.
Got the yukgaejang here and they added too much msg into the soup, so after eating it, I feel really thirsty and my throat feels sore. It also didn t come with beef although it was stated on the menu. Maybe get their dry dishes instead. Pros are that their service is quick and they have a good variety of side dishes.
If you are not Korean, don t come here. They don t provide a real English menu , you don t know how to order even you use google translate. The ordering process is kind of frustrated, even for a Korean food lover. Their food is normal, nothing special and wants to highlight. I will say most of the Korean restaurants in Yonge st. are better than that.
Food was good, ingredients were fresh and delicious. service was fast. I think i liked the side dishes from other places more but overall really good food.
Portions were very small for the high price. The photos online appeared larger than what was served. Service was slow. We were never given serving spoons for our hot pot and other dishes. The octopus and beef hot pot had alot of beef scum which we had to skim off ourselves into a side dish plate to get rid of. Overall it was a disappointing meal and for the high prices we expected better quality and portions. We won t be returning back to this restaurant.
Good food. Big portion. Tasty kimchi and sides
Love love love the gamjatang here. Super tender and just the right amount of spice (youll get that neck sweat if you know what I mean). The only knock is that its rather expensive, but I suppose all Korean restaurants in Toronto have jacked prices up. Anyhow, would come back. Cant wait.
Best Korean food in the area, so many options on the menu and everything is consistently good. They also provide a great variety of banchan that taste fresh and home made. My favourite items here are tangsuyuk and seollongtang. Highly recommend!
I had the soybean paste stew and it was delicious. The cabbage kimchi was disappointing, but the radish radish kimchi was delicious.
The pan cake was so thick and burnt. It was all flour! I only tried one bite of the whole plate and it was charged for me. This kind of business will not longer.
The restaurant I stopped by when I happened to pass by. Its clean and the food is delicious. Food
I would say the korean cold noodles definitely a must try, which the black bean sauce noodles was less sweet compared to those I tried before, personally I prefer it less sweet so I like this a lot.
De Chou is simply the best. A Korean restaurant with an authentic interior design and delicious food, I was excited to see what they had to offer on the menu. I ordered the gan jjajang myeon, which is the classic jajangmyeon (black bean sauce on noodles) except the sauce is stir fried with onions and meat. The price is extremely reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. They actually give you the noodles and sauce separately for you to mix in yourself, partially because it allows you to mix it in as you eat but also because they load the sauce up with so much onions and meat that it ends up being more food than sauce - which is an awesome problem to have. I also ordered the seafood pancake to share as it was one of the daily specials. I have never ordered the seafood pancake at a Korean restaurant before as they are usually expensive considering the ingredients, but I decided to here - and Im glad I did. The pancake was crispy and thick, packed with seafood and green onion, and massive in size. I highly recommend De Chou and cannot wait to go again.
45.99 for a basket of fries chicken?? Is the chicken made of gold?? Portion is just normal And the taste is not even good
First time in this restaurant, Im sure Ill come back again. Food is delicious and price is OK, Service is fine. The only thing is thr menu, big menu all the name are in Korean even with English description for whats inside thr dish, its still a bit difficult to understand (maybe just only me... ) Food
Whether its uber eats or dine in. Easily #1 on my list. Reasonable price, good quality, authentic korean soul food, very delicious. You cannot go wrong.
Took my folks from Vancouver here just to try it. My dad, being a grouchy old Korean man that he is, complained about almost all the Korean joints in Toronto since he got here EXCEPT at De Chou. This place is legit and its Appa approved. I am a big blood sausage/sundae soup lover. This place delivered. The jjambbong my mom had & saengtae (pollock) soup was pretty darn good too. Probably one of the better Korean joints in Scarborough/Markham area. Highly recommended. The service here wasnt bad either. The kimchi was mediocre but other banchan were solid.
Everything we ordered was delicious, I had a kimchi jjigae and was flavourful, the right amount of spicy super delicious. We will definitely return.
I enjoyed it and my family also enjoyed it. May you prosper!
Vegetarian options: , Food
Great noodles! Theyre made fresh in the restaurant. The meals are very affordable.
Soooo good!! Desu!!
We got the Saturday special jokbal and pork hock. The jokbal was very good and its nice that it was on a hot plate to keep it warm. It was extremely filling and they gave plenty of unique side dishes, though we didnt like the mayo broccoli. The kimchi is very spicy. They also gave a mini bowl of soup with noodles. The second time visiting, we got the katsu and beef cheek soup. The katsu was crispy but had too much mayo. The soup was good but lacked salt.
Delicious and authentic
I got the special and it was really good! I liked how I got to try 2 different noodles. I had a large group with me and there was a whole separate section to sit! It was nice!
Waitress forgot my order. Food was mid.
Situated in a ghetto, run down plaza is this nice Korean spot. There was a homeless man that was outside sitting by the door and he came inside - randomly walking around which made us a bit uncomfortable before he walked out. I was surprised staff did not say anything to him or ask if he needed help. As for food, the portion size for the banchan (side dishes) are a lot smaller now and service isn t attentive like it was before. However, they have the doorbell button to call the waiters over which is great. They have the best black bean noodles here and there are 5 different types in fact. We tried the calamari rings this time which were really yummy.
This is my family s second time coming here and it s definitely one of the nicer korean restaurants we ve been to in both price and quality of food. The staff are extremely nice and welcoming, while the restaurant itself is always clean. There s a variety of appetizers given out with the food, and the portion sizes are great. We ordered the jajjangmyeon, kamjatang and dongpayuk bap. Would definitely recommend!
Was super excited to try this place because the ratings were high. The appetizers came out and we re pretty good. However the food was disappointing. We ordered a beef hot plate that had barely any beef and was mostly veggie. The cold noodles was a steep price of $17 and was essentially a small serving of regular soba in salty ice water. The pork bone soup was the best thing we ordered and was just on par with other Korean restaurants.
Reasonable price. Food are not bad. Nice little korean restaurant
Really bad service this server dropped the napkins all the floor really worst almost hurt my granddad!! Horrible
I had the worst experience I used to eat delicious food when it was a small restaurant. There was traffic, so I went there on purpose. The crab in the seafood hotpot was bad, so from the moment I cut it, the soup was so fishy and bitter that it was difficult to eat it anymore. Since it wasnt the employees fault, I even paid the tip. Even though I relayed the situation to the owner, I was completely disappointed in the suppliers inability to take proper action and make excuses. I was upset because my family couldnt eat enough. Isn t using fresh ingredients basic?
Traditional Korean food with good customer service. Food was serving fast even though the restaurant was pretty full. The seafood pancake that we ordered was crispy on the top & bottom but under-cooked in the middle. Requested the waitress to take it back to the kitchen; then it tasted great after re-cooked. Will come again to try other dishes.
Food was okay, the vibe is nice. I would say some items are quite expensive. I would not come back because they charged us double on an item and we only found out when we got home. My fault for not looking at the bill first before paying but we got their daily special fried chicken boneless, the board said $24.99 but our bill was $44.99!! Maybe there were hidden price difference but it was NOT communicated to us when we ordered. An extra $20 in this economy....Ouch.
Good quality and reasonable portions
Good food with good service.
The cold noodle soup here is awesome, great for a hot summer day
I cannot recommend this restaurant since taste is not good enough.
Nice and autentic place. Personnel was very kind, Food really delicious
Scaboros hidden gem.
This review is based on our experience at 7368 Yonge St before their relocation to Scarborough. We were seeking a late-night snack (past 10 PM) and found this to be the only option open nearby. However, due to the limited seating, with only around 10 tables, there was a slight wait. We ordered the Gamjatang (Pork Bone Soup), a hearty soup infused with Korean spices and containing a large bone-in meat. The meal also came with a complimentary small bowl of flavorful noodle soup. Despite ordering only one item for two people, the staff were more than happy to replenish our banchan. At the end, we were given coupons inviting us to visit their new location. The new location appears to be very spacious, and I look forward to giving it a try.
Was looking online for a different korean restaurant for dinner one day and saw this place! The service was A++++, food was delicious and good portions. Would ordered the cold noodles again and again
Location is changed, food is different from before and more expensive. Won t come back
Favourite korean place!
Great service and food! I love their seolleongtang, especially since not every korean restaurant offers them. Go during their lunch special hours if you can, its cheaper :D
I was watching king the land kdrama and they kept eating gukbap in the series which led me to look for the best gukbap in the city....this was what led me to find this resto.... we always bought take out from here as well.. We also had our familys Queen of Tears wrap up party dinner here and the fam enjoyed the food so much! Received excellent service from the staff.
Get your fill of Korean here. They have an extensive menu, with combos, and daily specials. Free surface parking in their lot.
New Korean restaurant that opened in January 2024, and they currently have some sales until February 15. Large selection of Korean dishes, and the restaurant is large and spacious. Food tastes good at reasonable prices. You can refill side dishes, which is typical at Korean restaurants. Im giving them 5 stars because they gave each person a free (small) bowl of noodles which tastes great. I will return some day.
The food was actually really really good! They start you off with a small bowl of soup with noodles and it was delicious, a lot of umami. The side dishes are refillable and all of them were delicious. The popcorn chicken though is was ok, probably skip it if you go. E
I think the stand out of this restaurant is the vibe. It feels like walking into a genuine Korean food hall. I feel the food was average due to the quality. Especially the super salty soup they give you. There s a lot of great Korean restaurants around and nothing was too special here. The fried chicken we ordered used meat that did not taste fresh.
!! The flavours at this place are so much different from other Korean restaurants. They don t lie when they say it s spicy to make sure to watch out! They have so much space here enough for an entire classroom ! As someone who loves food I would definitely come back here. They re gamjatang has a unique taste and it s really addictive. I love flavourful food so it fits right into my taste buds. The jjajangmyeon I ordered was above my expectations. Like I said they don t mess with they re spice so I ordered the spicy version of it. You can taste the black bean taste with the seafood flavour which makes it so good! The only point away from it being 5 stars is the fact there s no pickled radish! I love the uniqueness of the dishes and can t wait till I m back. If you want to try flavourful Korean food come here.
Pretty decent korean food! I especially like the side dishes here, very fresh and unique! Cold noodles were pretty good but the ice could be slushier, the pieces of ice were quite large. Seating is comfortable and atmosphere is nice.
Had many great options for authentic style Korean food. Ordered off the lunch menu and their daily deals which was a couple dollars off each dish. As well as ordered off their regular menu, all the prices were comparable to other Korean restaurants. We ordered their yuringi (korean spicy fried chicken), which tasted fresh and crispy. The bokkeum jjamppong was spicy and had lots of seafood, great portion, it was missing the wok hey that Ive had at other restaurants, but had the depth of flavor from the seafood. Soondae guk was also very flavorful and came with a side of rice. Meal came with a small little bowl of soup that was also flavorful. Would definitely recommend coming back to try the rest of their extensive menu!
First time dining here as per family member s recommendation as we were having dinner here. It is very spacious once we got inside. The staff were very friendly and informed us of their daily specials menu. We ended up choosing the kamjatang(pork bone & potato soup) hot pot(big pot, not same as Chinese hot pot***), beef bibimbap, and kkan pung gi(spicy fried chicken). Portions were plentiful and the taste was superb. The complimentary side dishes had a huge variety as well. Overall, nothing to complain about here; highly recommended! Parking: Decent parking around the side/back of plaza/restaurant
Good food and good service. The restaurant took over a location that was also previously a Korean restaurant. The space is very large with several rooms, as well as lots of semi-private tables, which is nice. The menu is fairly extensive, and everything we ordered was good and came out quickly. The menu can be a little hard to decipher if you dont know Korean or eat Korean food a lot, but the servers are happy to help if you dont know what something is.
I recently visited a new restaurant with some friends during their soft opening. They had special combo orders available, so we decided to order the Godeunguh Gui Jeong sik, Korean-style sausage soup, and Bo Ssam. We were particularly impressed by their kimchi. Unfortunately, the restaurant didnt yet have an alcohol license. However, the service was quite attentive, with a call button available for assistance. The atmosphere was conducive to conversation, with background music at a comfortable level. I plan on returning to try their lunch special, particularly their bibimbap.
I love to go back here! Their food, cleanliness of the restaurant and service are excellent. Price is reasonable. Authentic Korean restaurant that everyone must have to try!
Delicious authentic Korean food! I ordered the pork bone soup, and taste is great! Lots of different appetizer dishes! Great friendly staff!
Great side dishes, lots of authentic Korean dishes, very reasonable prices. Need to come again to try out some more things!
The best sundae place in Toronto!! Its the best because you made it yourself Best korean sausage in Toronto!!!!!!!!
Very nice aesthetic! Lunch special from 12-3pm is a great deal.
You should checl put. Friendly environment and nice authentic korean food
It s so generous and good~
Food is very good and servings are very big! Restaurant itself is very spacious and airy. Would come again and even bring friends :) Highly recommend!
really! This is the best Korean restaurant in Canada. The portion size is incredible and the taste is truly amazing~ Great value for money. service. Also, so so so. great!! perfection. I highly recommend it^^ (It was so delicious that I ate it quickly so I took a picture in the middle) ~^*^
good food ngl
Nice atmosphere with seats separated by walls and the service was nice
Lovely interior, great selection, fair prices, and friendly servers
Very cozy environment for group lunch/dinner
One of the best Korean restaurants Ive been to in the GTA, Ive been here many time and it doe not disappoint!!
The service and environment are okay, but the food tastes very average and salty, and the lights in the store are too dim. I cant see the menu clearly when ordering.
The worst Korean food I have ever tried in Toronto. So many Korean restaurants in Toronto are awesome, taste even better than that in Korea. But this one is the worst I have ever tried. Can t believe they have 4 stars rating But the seat set up are spacious, waiters are nice. Food
Delicious!! The lunch special are so suitable for work lunch.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing and their service is outstanding. Food was also incredible, I recommend!
Starting with the restaurants interior that suits Korean food very well, the store was clean and the food was plentiful and delicious. There was even a daily discount menu, so even though its a bit far from my house, I would 100% visit again !!
The customer service is wonderful, very welcoming and polite. The food is fantastic, in fact most of the restaurant patrons are Koreans which is a good sign to indicate how good the food is. The prices are very reasonable, especially the daily specials. The restaurant is very clean and quiet. Pro Tip: every table has a button to call your wait staff over. This is common in Korean restaurants but not common in any other type of restaurant so if you didn t know, now you know!
Great Korean food! The beef bibimbap was one of the best I ve had in the city!
I highly recommend this place if you are craving good Korean food. Service is always good and their food will never disappoint you. Its in a plaza with lots of parking spots
I am so happy to visit De Chou again, the food is amazing and the service is excellent!
Great food here will come here again
Eat with confidence!
Best Korean food I have had so far!
Super authentic Korean food with very friendly service. Highly recommend!
Despite the restaurant situating in a run-down strip plaza, the interior is actually quite nice! There were lots of private rooms as well as a larger area with multiple tables. The service was phenomenal too! Food didn t take too long to be served and the side dishes were sooooo yummy! We really enjoyed the kimchi pancake, homemade kimchi, potato & pumpkin salad and eggplant. We had the lunch special which runs from 12pm-3pm. All of which were good portioned. - GamjaTang: 4/5 flavour was awesome but the pork bones didn t have too much meat. - Dolset Bimbimbap: 5/5 they perfected the crispy rice at the bottom of the stone bowl, the ratio of veggies to rice was just right too. Would 100% come back again. I m excited to try their other dishes!
Brilliant service and food
Very nice foods and service!!
I came because I wanted to eat tripe hotpot, so I packed the tripe hotpot and ordered black bean noodles, cold vegetable pigs feet, and sundae soup at the restaurant, and it was so delicious!! I was disappointed that I couldnt find Jjajangmyeon that suited my taste yet, but the Jajangmyeon here is so delicious that I think Ill come here more often!! I m satisfied because all the menu items I ordered here were delicious!!
Friendly Staff, great portion, and they can even refill size dishes.
Bossam - great taste and great value, must try Kamja Tang - Pork and spicy soup is not hot enough, disappointed. Free appetizers and soup - they have some special dishes I never try on other Korean restaurants. Good surprise. Staff is polite and helpful, seats are comfortable and clean.
De Chou Korean Restaurant is truly deserving of infinite stars!! Our family of 20 gathered for a dinner and it was nothing short of fabulous. Each dish was a masterpiece in flavor and presentation. From the side dishes to the incomparable bulgogi, every bite was just sooooo good. The atmosphere was so beautiful, with well-decorated interiors featuring traditional Korean design The service was outstanding!! Thanks to the friendly owner and staff. De Chou has provided us with one of the best dining experiences ever had. Highly recommended!!!
We had a family dinner I had an amazing dining experience at this Korean restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious, and their service was very nice. Owner and staffs were very friendly as well. I highly recommend ! Food
Nice food nice service. Every thing is great !!!! Amazing experience
Very good price, very good food, the pork soup is the best in town.
This is a fairly new Korean restaurant that I never knew was near me, very nice space and clean, we had a bday party there and had a private room. The food is very authentic and really flavorful, you can tell that the owners are Korean. We love the little side dishes, tried the Korean pancake, and roll with noodles inside, pork bone soup, and bibampap. Their food has great presentation, and quite spicy! It was a bit chaotic with service, I had to wave down someone a few times but they were attentive, just understaffed Great place overall
*Food: Ordered the pork bone soup. The meat was fall off the bone and very flavourful. De Chou is my new favourite place to satisfy my Korean food cravings! There was a daily special menu, which I never saw in other establishments. I liked that. *Service: attentive and considerate. *Atmosphere: clean and spacious.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs available. Small plastic bowls and plates available for kids Food
Spacious, bright and well serviced. Yummy food. The only downside is their menu is mostly Korean. You have to prepare to use translation to read and order from the menu. Some people can speak English. Parking: Plenty of free parking outside the restaurant.
This place is super close to me and I m really glad I got to try it out! Their menu is extensive and the restaurant is very spacious - good for any group or size We got the Chicken Bibimbap, Cold Noodles + Dumpling combo, Jajangmyeon (black bean noodle) and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). Everything was super flavourful and fresh After we first sat down and ordered, they came out with a variety of side dishes (banchan). We really liked how they served a small noodle soup dish as an appetizer, and all of the other banchan were really tasty! My personal favourite was the broccoli and the potatoes. The cold noodles were on the sweeter side, but they provide you with vinegar + mustard on the side if you d like to adjust to your liking. 8/10 The jajangmyeon (black bean noodle) was super filling and even came with chunks of pork! Most restaurants will only give small pieces of ground pork, so we were surprised to see the big pieces. 9/10 The tteokbokki was one of my favourites. There was a bunch of ingredients like fish cakes, egg, and veggies, and they all mixed well together with the sauce. They also don t skimp out on rice cakes as there was so much! 9/10 The chicken bibimbap was super homey as well, all the flavours combined were so good and the hot stone is a great touch. 8/10 I d love to come back to try their soups as Korean soups and stews are my favourite! We also met the owner or one of the workers there, and they mentioned how they are still under renovation and will be opening a BBQ section & cafe! Super excited for this. I ll definitely be back and highly recommend checking them out. I think this will be my new go-to Korean restaurant
Great authentic Korean restaurant. Food reasonably priced with good portion and very flavourful. Got their chef s special of the day Bossam and liked that they served it on a steamer to keep it hot for the whole dining period. Love their refillable side dishes too. Will return definitely.
I moved and opened a new store.
Food and service was excellent!!
I am a local Hapkido instructor. After class, I came to this restaurant for food, with a friend. We ordered our food, and after 30 minutes of waiting, we were told there was confusion, and they asked for our order, again. We placed our order a second time, and after another 15 minutes of waiting, my friend had to leave. I stayed for my meal. The meal itself was reasonable and good. After I finished my meal, I got up to use the washrooms. A woman (staff member) confronted me before I reached the washroom, asking if I was done my meal and where I was going. I told her I was going to use the washroom. I then returned and paid for my meal. I am almost certain I was confronted because I have visible tattoos. I have never been so disrespected, and despite this, I left with kindness. I certainly will not return here again.
More spacious after moving to this location. Food is great and delicious
My friends and I had a great time here. The food was delicious, portions are large, had a good variety of banchan (side dishes), and adept service. This is a gem of a restaurant. I cant wait to go back!
Traditional and all-round Korean restaurant. Got warm and kind services and food with great quality and quantity. Location is bit out of town but you will get free parking.
Nice place for Korean food food is delicious and prices is reasonable
Me and my family have genuinely found, in our opinion, the best traditional korean restaurant in town. At first we didnt pay too much attention to this establishment as it was located in a not so popular area for restaurants alike. But for this valentines day, we decided to give this place a try. First of, the prices are beyond reasonable, the portion is impressively large. The food is superbly fresh and delicious, the side dishes are picturesque and served in abundance. And lastly, the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. Always greeted with a smile of humility and hospitality. What a pleasant surprise. Came to know that theyve only been opened, at this location, for about 3 weeks. Were so lucky to have this establishment nearby. We wont hesitate recommending this restaurant to anyone !
Comforting Korean cuisine that has left the Richmond Hill area (You will be missed) This spot was my favorite near Yonge/Centre street - unfortunately theyve moved to Scarborough so now I am sadboy. Service is impeccable. Looks like a mom and pop shop, few tables to be served whether large groups or small. Food is always amazing here, I usually go for an army stew with jokbal and bossam for drinking. I will have to make my way to Scarborough now to go see them.
I tried this place because they sell daeji guk bab with high review. Very small portion with 4 thumb size meat in it. I was confused and thought maybe because it s lunch portion. Usually when I get food especially soups are big so I can divide it into 2 meals. But this one didn t even fill me up. Are main dishes appetizer sizes and was I supposed to order several dishes with it? It wasn t even that good. It was ok. Just regular soup. I don t know what the hype is about. There must be something that I don t know about. Still trying to figure out til this day but I wouldn t go back. Haha
Solid Korean restaurant that has now moved to Scarborough at 3601 Victoria Park. You can find all the Korean classics here and a some set menu combos which are good for the indecisive. Our favourites here are the seafood pancake and jokbal. Seafood pancake is a bit thicker than most places, but is still very crispy and more filling. The jokbal has good flavour and prepared very nicely in a roll. We liked the seafood soondubu which was very hot and spicy. The gamjatang came with lots of meat on the bones but found it to be a bit salty for our taste. The bulgogi didnt have much beef but flavours were good. Tteokbokki was a bit average and I prefer a spicier and thicker sauce. Service is wonderful with very nice and efficient aunties working.
First time visit and will come again. Pork bone soup was full of meat and delicious. The spicy stir fried chicken was flavourful and colorful.
Its delicious
Great tasting food and always comes out fresh and hot stuff is also super friendly. I was checking up and providing extras. No additional cost.
Best~
