Sansotei is a Canadian brand founded in Toronto in 2012. We offer authentic Tonkotsu Ramen, sourcing the highest quality products and ingredients both locally and direct from Japan. We strive to build a culture of hard work and dedication, and we are passionate about serving the best ramen, one bowl at a time
Tried the gyoza and the tonkotsu black ramen and was very satisfied. A nice, hot meal. Service was good as well.
We were greeted and welcomed warmly. All the servers were really friendly and constantly checked on us! The daily combos they offer are quite worth, and we got the gyoza and zangi combo. The gyoza were pan fried well and crispy, and the filling was really tasty. The fried chicken was fresh and juicy. The ramen was also delicious, with a choice of thin or thick noodles. Would definitely come back when I’m at STC!
Sansotei Ramen in Scarborough Town Centre offers a delightful experience for ramen enthusiasts. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal. The menu features a variety of broth options, including tonkotsu and shoyu, each rich in flavor and well-balanced. The noodles are cooked to perfection—springy and satisfying. I particularly enjoyed the spicy miso ramen, deep fried chicken which had just the right amount of heat without overpowering the other flavors. Service was prompt and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Really amazing Ramen at Sensotei. We tried the Tantan and Tonkotsu Black; both the broths were unique, packed with flavour and absolutely comforting. Will continue going there. I dropped a point only because the gypza was a bit cold. The staff was extremely helpful and they have free meals for kids, and high chairs. Great place for families. Must try for Ramen lovers.
Better ramen than Kinton and a close 2nd to Ajisen. Service was great. We got the Tonkatsu, Zangi, and Gyoza and they were all delicious! STC food court is undefeated.
I got the Tonkatsu Black ramen which was good enough. I’ve tasted better but this was good enough for me to return if I’m in the area. It’s located near the Jollibee restaurant so it was pretty difficult deciding where to eat. Service was excellent, my server refilled my teapot with hot water even without me asking. The ramen came in quickly enough for a hungry person. She asked me how my food was and made sure everything was to my liking. I was happy with my ramen overall.
I've been to other Sansotei locations and wanted to give this one a try. I'd say it's the best of all locations I've tried, albeit being inside a mall. It's comfortable (doesn't feel cramped), no wait time on a Saturday for lunch, food came fast and service was friendly. The Simple Set with rice and ramen are surprisingly filling.
Prompt friendly service, full service. We ordered tomato seafood ramen, their signature ramen in my opinion. Comfortable setting spacious, I am impressed with foods quality consistency.
Love the warm and positive service here!
I love eating at this place. Everything is delicious. I will return soon. Food
Thank you Winnie Food was delicious!!!! Food
I ve visited this location several times and this restaurant never disappoints. The chicken ramen is a new addition to the menu and is now my favourite ramen. The chicken ramen has very tender chicken and a flavourful broth. I also love the appetizers, especially the gyoza and the zangi fried chicken. The service here is also great whenever I visit and I am always greeted warmly. They are also very attentive. Whenever I visit the mall, I m sure to visit here
Atmosphere is good for meet up. They will let you have time with your people. Food is good. I was craving for ramen and I was satisfied. Thank you!
Fast service and interms of food its acceptable consider what we paid for
So yummy! The spicy TanTan and the corn croquettes were sooo good. Would definitely come here again. Very friendly service also
Ordered ramen yesterday and found PLASTIC inside the ramen, what looks like black fungus, but my throat will say definitely was not.
This place blew us away and we think it deserves more than 4 stars! We would probably give it a 4.8. The service was fast and the staff are kind and attentive. The food came out hot, but not too hot, so we could start eating right away. Everything from the broth and noodles to the meat tasted amazing. The meat was so tender. We were so impressed! I personally recommend the thick noodles. They arent thick like udon, more like regular ramen noodles. Definitely try to catch them on one of their deal days if you can, but if not, absolutely worth full price as well. The only thing was the atmosphere, which they can only do so much about being in a mall and all. But they did their best - their storefront is gorgeous and it actually mutes the bustle of the mall pretty well.
What kind of restaurant closes an hour before the mall closes? Lazy manager? No, I get it, because they already charge you so much for the ramen that they made all their profit and dont need the money from later dine-in customers. Mopping up floors and putting chairs up right beside me while I just started eating...now I am feeling forced to eat in a hurry. No good, would not recommend.
One of my FAVOURITE locations for Sansotei Ramen as a franchise. Not only is it at STC which is super convenient for me, I find that the ramen here is made wonderfully. I always get the Tonkotsu Black ramen with thin noodles and an extra egg(its very well marinated) and I personally think that it was truly made with effort and care. Broth is flavourful, and the thing about black garlic broth is sometimes the garlic are tiny particles that can get stuck onto your teeth, but the one used for this ramen in this location is very thin, almost oil like which makes less of a clean up hassle afterwards which is obviously a big plus for me. Otherwise, ramen is great, well proportioned and amazing price as always. The setting/atmosphere of the location is chic and relaxing, seating isnt an issue(for me at least) especially during opening hours and lunch ish. Id say it gets busy around dinner during weekends, but honestly there are a ton of comfy places to sit at along with a bar as well. Staff are very welcoming and kind, greeting us with smiles and giving prompt service. If you havent tried Sansotei Ramen, give it a try! And if you have, this specific location is in my opinion, the best.
Ive been here twice with my husband and 2 year old and I really love it. Not only is the food delicious, good value and well presented, but it is such a welcoming place for kids. Kids can eat free (with the purchase of 2 adult meals), and even get their own kid-friendly plate and spoon. It helps that noodles and ice cream are go-to toddler favourites. High chairs available. And the service is excellent. The staff really make you feel that families with small children are welcome. That is a rare thing to find!
I dont like the behaviour of servers. Food was good though but the behaviour of servers wasn not good. Won t come next time thanks!!!!
There is a deal with free kids meal. It says order two ramens, two beverages, we can get free don and ice cream. We went with this option. When we finished our ramens, we were waiting for the ice cream to come. When I asked the waitress if we can get the ice cream now, she said they ran out of ice cream today. She couldn t let us know beforehand? Our son is now craving for ice cream. They definitely need to train the waitress to have better service.
foods were the best nobody can deny about that but the service they gave us was very bad will say that teach the server that every guest should get equal honor and respect very bad treatment to us.
Came for an early dinner after a tiring day, and had the Tonkotsu ramen. Everything was delivered exactly as expected - the thin ramen was not too starchy and the broth had the ubiquitous umami from bone broth. My perfect soul food to sooth the frazzled mind.
I received this Uber order 12 mins ago. And I have to wait another 3 mins because it s not ready.
The food was okay, maybe it was just the Tonkatsu that I ordered that needed more flavor but overall it was kind of neutral tasting. My gf had the spicy tantan and said it was pretty good though. Service was pretty quickly so good job there, seating is also a little tight but acceptable.
Came here with my family for lunch. A little pricey for what you get but that s inflation for you! Atmosphere was nice, but they don t have a washroom inside the restaurant which is a little weird.
Im a big ramen fan and recently tried the spicy tantan and chicken at this place. The spicy tantan had a good kick, and the chicken almost tasted like karaage, which was a surprise. Service was quick, but I found it a bit pricey. Still, if youre in the mood for ramen, or if youve had a long day, its worth a visit, especially since its conveniently located inside STC.
We love our time together in this branch with our little family. They have a promo on Mon-Thurs like $38 for 2 ramen with Zangi! The server was kind enough to help our aunt and uncle to choose what would be best for them as they are already seniors. The place wasn t crowded maybe because it was a weekday and we had our time to chitchat too. Dietary restrictions: As a suggestion they made the pork not spicy for the black tonkatsu as an option for our uncle. :)) Parking: The restau is inside STC so the parking is wide and free! Kid-friendliness: They have kiddie meal! Wheelchair accessibility: It s inside STC so this place is very accessible.
Your typical Sansotei Ramen. Decent place with good service. They are a bit short on staff at times though. Everything came out within 15 minutes.
Staff isso nice and accomodating. Tastes soo good!
A tasty food in a quiet place in a busy mall, what could be better? If you want to escape a busy food court at STC, go and grab a tasty ramen at Sansotei.
Excellent food! They also have a good deal if you have kids, they have buy to mains get kids meals free. Good ambiance and good service.
Food is good, service is fine
Slowwwwwww service. They got me hanging.
Great place for ramen
Amazing Food & Service! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great waitresses, super fast and helpful.
I had ramen before but they were so salty. It had put me off ramen for so many years. This is so rich and creamy. Yummy!! Most importantly it s not salty.
A nice ramen spot to go to when going to STC to shop. The restaurant has a nice concept inside the mall. There s more selections now of ramen. Service was great as well. Will be going back again when I go shop at STC.
Excellent authentic ramen, with great cleaniness. Not many places to get some real ramen nowadays.
Service is terrible, on website says they close at 8, some days they turn people away at 7:15, sometimes at 7:27, it s all depends on how the waitress feels, it s not they don t have tables available, they ll close up one section as early as 7:30, not letting people sit, so obviously they can finish early, I m wondering if you don t want business, why not just close, you don t appreciate your customers at all. Food is fine, salty, sometimes noodles are too chewy. Makeup your mind, be consistent, if you want to close at 7:30, post on your website and people won t come at 7:30, people show up at 7:20, you have table, you have to take them in. It s called doing business, period. Terrible terrible service! And obviously the servers lied about what happened to the owner, the time we arrived, there were no wait list, the girl simply told us sorry we re closed not taking any more customers, it was 7:27, and there was a table leaving, which means there s a table available when it s cleaned up. Ok, if the owner chose to believe the lies his servers told him, then no need to look at online reviews any more. Your servers don t value customers.
The place and staff are very friendly and service is great
Food is disappointing feels like youre eating frozen foods. The server didnt even give us small plates. She served our appetizer hurriedly. Not coming back.
Good ramen as always! Love the eggs here!
The food quality is not as good compare to North York location. It is still a better choice than other food options in STC.
Great ramen. Being in the middle of the food court is not a vibe.
Average compared to the locations in downtown, but it s the best option within the mall. They didn t have side dish we wanted to order, which was another downside.
Their Gyoza is good
So good! It s on the first floor near the subway entrance. Fun people watching. The restaurant is comfortable enough, but you re definitely aware you re in a mall. We had the black miso ramen and it was perfect. I opted for no pork belly and receive so much yummy eggs instead. Service was quick and friendly. I ll definitely be back
ramen was super yummy but the service was not the best. staff were inattentive and we were not given coasters, cutlery, water refills or napkins.
Tried the daily special ramen + beer for $20. Not bad, good place to relax after shopping.
Sansotei Ramen is an excellent restaurant for anyone looking to satisfy the ramen cravings. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. The portions are generous and the ingredients are fresh and high-quality. The atmosphere is cozy even for being in STC and the service is quick and attentive. I highly recommend Santosei Ramen for anyone in the mood for a satisfying bowl of Japanese ramen.
Tonkotsu + plus is Really flavourful and delicious. Truffle oil, smoked pastrami, meat balls and chashu this is not found anywhere else, this combination works really well. The Preparation, ingredient Quality and freshness of ingredients make this dish really shine. Highly recommend trying this dish.
Amazing tasting ramen, but unfortunately my takeout containers broke once I poured the soup in which spilled liquid over my dining room table. I was able to enjoy whatever I retrieved from it. It would have been nice to have all of it though. I really hope the restaurant improves on take out containers.
Delicious! Ramens were packed beautifully in takeout containers and tasted amazing!
Shoyu ramen was great
TLDR ; This place is phenomenal but only if you are willing to shell out a significant amount of money for it. Im a regular at this restaurant and Im very happy to say that Ive never been truly disappointed in any of my visits. The ramen is quite lovely and the variety of toppings is enough to satiate any palette. The eggs served with ramen here are on a completely different level compared to any other ramen restaurant Ive been to. Where most other places dont prepare ramen eggs properly, most seemingly just boil an egg and toss it into a bowl; This restaurant seems to have proper ramen eggs that seem to transcend every other restaurant. In terms of side dishes, they arent necessarily large in portion size but given that youll be eating an entire bowl of ramen, the portion sizes seem a lot more appropriate. There are some hits and some that dont really make much sense to order, though this depends more on personal taste rather than objective fact. The look and feel of this restaurant is very nice, with a sleek Jet Black theme offset by fine wood and a warm lighting shade. The utensils provided match the theme, as well as the various seating arrangements. The only reason this place does not receive all 5 stars is because of their pricing. If you want to have the best possible experience, you are most likely going to be spending more than 20 dollars per person. While I can justify spending this amount of money because I enjoy the food; I also understand that a lot of the items sold are simply not worth what they are priced at, which I find to be quite unfortunate given that I would like to eat here more often but find myself unable to reasonably justify spending such amounts of money multiple times a week. All in all, the place is great and the food is delicious, just be prepared for a large bill at the end of your meal.
Not too fatty or salty. Delicious flavour . Waiter was attentive and great.
Service is great. Food served quickly. Ramen taste great! Ordered tonkatsu black its a must try!
One of the best ramen in toronto. Noodles is perfectly cooked, the broth aswell as the meat is rich in flavour. Miso black and black tonkutsu are my fav. I always come back to this location because of the warm service of the servers, feels like home.
Just as good as the other location on Byng Avenue. Some of the best ramen in town. When you feel like ramen this place hits the spot.
Ive been here every week since I first came here. Thats only three times in all but its heavenly! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is delightful and the people are friendly. The Ramen leaves a delightful taste in your mouth you never want to lose! Theres something for everyone, including my extremely picky husband who didnt want to come here in the first place. Hes been here twice now! Come for the Ramen, you wont be disappointed!
Tasty ramen, but most options contain pork. Excellent service and nice ambiance, for a mall eatery.
Ramens were great! They have nice flavors and not too oily as well. Only thing I noticed is the waiting time. It was around 20-25mins. Their customer service was great though. Staff were all smiling and polite.
Second time dining at Sandotei STC. Verdict: - convenient location, - usually not very busy, - pretty good ramen, - decent portion, - friendly staff - easy to order (those who are young and tech savvy, we can scan the QR code to see the menu, for seniors they offer physical menu) We ordered TONKOTSU BLACK and MISO BLACK this time. There is a big piece of port meat in the Miso black and some very yummy Shiitake. Personally, I find them better than some other ramen places like Kinton Ramen. The soup is tasty but I find it really really greasy and I got thirsty afterwards (maybe too much MSG lol).
Customer service could be better. One of the servers just kept going mhmm when we thanked her for bringing our food and serving us. Food-wise, I prefer the ramen here compared to other ramen places. The broth is really good and the meat is nicely flavoured. I recommend the Tonkotsu Black ramen.
Great ramen, quality is very consistent. They seem always understaffed so sometimes service takes a while, but the food is great. Theres some items like the Gyudon that they pretty much never have whenever I go though, not sure if thats a franchise issue or just this store.
While at Scarborough Town Centre decided to go for Ramen at Sansotei Ramen. I ordered the Tonkotsu Black which has chashu, egg, black fungus, garlic oil, green onion. There was a choice of thick or thin noodles and I chose the thin noodles. The broth was so good and hot. My friend ordered the Zangi Fried Chicken and Corn Croquettes. The chicken was delicious and well seasoned. The fried corn was crispy and so tasty. The place is clean and service is fast. Our server provided excellent customer service.
Salty, oily & greasy in the wrong way, and horrible service. We went on a Saturday afternoon, it was busy but the service definitely lacked the quality, we waited long for the bill and waited long for anything to come put. Once the food came out, we got the spicy tan tan ramen and it was so greasy and salty. I ve had other ramen places before and their tan tan ramen is so much better, I understand the oil but this felt overly salty and not edible. I do not recommend. The noodles were chewy and that was the only thing I liked. The gyozas looked like they just came out of the frying oil, no time to drip out the oil and it was dripping with oil around as we ate it? Maybe we just came on a bad day, but we won t be coning back anytime soon. Hopefully they improve.
Nice spacious and clean space. Food is good. Noodle portions were on the smaller side. Impressed with their allergy list, every food provider should have one. We ordered a variety of ramen and everyone enjoyed their order.
Sansotei is one of my favourite ramen restaurants. Noodles cooked perfectly with rich flavourful soup. Great service and the restaurant is neat & clean.
I ordered ramen, Tonkotsu Black. So good from meat to broth, flavourful! We re group of 5 and everyone liked what they ve got. The Japanese peach alcoholic drink was really good and ordered 2 bottles. We will definitely come back here again since this is very close to home. Our server was very attentive to our orders and she s nice too. We had a good dining experience here I came back with another set of friends and the fourth photo shows what we ordered here. Still so good!
i dined at this place before and had a great experience, however, this time the lady who took my order told me to order at least 2 Ramen in order to be seated at the restaurant. My friend and I were not hungry enough to order 2 ramen and our order of 1 Ramen and a side dish was enough for us. She insisted we order 1 more to be seated and we had no choice but to get the order as a take away. It was rude and very unprofessional. I hope you make changes to your policies so that people feel more welcome when they dine with you.
Always a favorite when visiting STC. They really accomodate family with small kids. The kids enjoyed the eating experience with cute spoons and forks. Kid-friendliness: They offer kids forks and spoons!
Stopped by STC after work and saw Sansotei Ramen advertising dinner for 2 which included your choice of any 2 ramen and fried chicken for $38. Pretty good deal. I thought the ramen was just okay. It was way too salty for my liking. We got the Tonkotsu Black and Tonkotsu Plus. We thought the broth would be creamier. I had better ramen elsewhere. The service was good and the seating had nice decorations but thats about it.
Nice place to eat ramen. Its inside the Scarborough Town Centre , 2nd floor food court. Pricing is comparable to Kinton ramen and the ramen is just as good if not better. Love the egg topping. Ofcourse not the same ramen as the ramen from Tokyo. It is not the same but it will do. Let me know if you do know a place in Toronto that will rival the taste of Tokyo.
Sansotei ramen is a pretty interesting place for a quick and seated bite to eat inside STC. Usually not much of a wait, the food comes out quick. As it is inside STC, its not exactly refined dining as you can still here the rustle and bustle of busy shoppers. However, considering that it is one of the only places inside STC that does sell ramen, it does the job.
Good choice for a quick recharge
Delicious ramen but the noodles were bit hard and the soup not too hot. They only serve you hot water with your green tea order not like other restaurants.
I visited this location for a quick ramen while shopping in Scarborough Town Center. It was attracted for the sign showing a ramen special. It was a good deal, so I ordered a chicken ramen without checking menu. The staff was very friendly. The ramen came. The appearance was appetizing. The soup was not hot enough. Maybe the cold noodles was placed in the bowl and made the soup became not hot. I was disappointed with the soup. Overall the experience was good. I like the decor and the seating.
Yummy...staff are friendly .
Lots of available seating in the restaurant at the time that we went. Waited a little bit to get seated. My friend ordered the Tonkotsu Black with thick noodles and I ordered the Tonkotsu+ with thick noodles... And after we ate, we ordered 2 yuzu cheesecake slices to go. Our ramen was yummy. Tonkotsu+ was very meaty. The soup wasnt all that salty. It was pretty oily. The ice cold water we got was very good at cutting through the oily soup. The yuzu cheesecake that we got... Well, I didnt really taste the yuzu and the slice was underwhelming small. So, it wasnt worth its price. The Tonkotsu Black was $17-18, the Tonkotsu+ was $16, and the cheesecake slice was $4. Kid-friendliness: When we went, there was a father and a baby there eating in the restaurant.
A must try ramen... Amazing ramen and my sons favourite food. I personally love the black garlic oil and go in during weekdays they have a promo. Check it out...
A real and delicious ramen
This time it is a take out order, online then pick up at restaurant. On line ordering is very straight forward, everything will be specified and you can expect that is how it will be when you get your order. The best ramen, tonkotsu is the best, It is good that you have to get an extra noodles order. The soup is so tasty and satisfying. When i reached the store, it is already ready. The place is so clean, not busy on weekdays, the servers are so polite and nice, the atmosphere is so wonderful that you can sit there and eat your ramen like you are at hone,The order size is enough for one person. The price is fair enough considering you are getting quality food. I have been a regular costumer of Sansotei and i hope they will continue their good food tradition of authentic and very delicious ramen. Good job Sansotei Ramen!!
This place is amazing. I tried their new chicken ramen, and it was very well-made. The broth was flavourful, the chicken was tender, and the noodles had a nice texture to them. Service was great, and place is very well-maintained with a nice ambiance. Will definitely come again!
As an avid ramen enjoyer, the new chicken ramen is excellent and I would come back for it. Staff was welcoming, quick and attentive and friendly!
There are some great deals to get gyoza and fried chicken with your ramen for your table. But the ramen itself was super salty and couldn t be finished.
Noodles super salty. Just 2 bites give up. Waste 20 dollars. Then Go next door Tim s grab some food there.
Been here many times. Sometimes the chashu is insanely good. Other times it s very average. The broth, eggs and noodles however are very consistent. Tonkotsu Black is probably my favorite but I wish it wasn t so oily.
The food and service was amazing. Waitress went up and beyond expectations to make our stay enjoyable with our 2 kids.
Friendly staff, fast service. Food was good. They had some deals too Food
Sansotei Ramen 8/10 Pictured: - tonkatsu+ ($16) - shouyu ($15) Located around Toronto and the GTA including in Scarborough Town Centre is this ramen place! The broth is rich and delicious. The serving sizes are also pretty large, making it a very filling meal! One thing to note for the spice lovers out there is that there s only one spicy option and its pretty mild. **Follow @smfoodd on Instagram for more!!
Worst experience and subpar food. Went with family to have a quick dinner, we ordered 2 ramen bowls ie. TONKOTSU BLACK--the broth was ok (loaded with msg which made us very thirsty). Noodles were undercooked--more on the raw side. Waitress / hostess was rude--took her forever to tend to us. She ignored us after we paid the bill--was owed the ice cream. Also, over priced for the low quality (small portions of meat and noodles). There are lots of better quality and affordable ramen place. Overall, terrible food and service.
This place is under staffed. We where seated and moments later a group was seated beside us. It took about ten minutes after seating the people beside us for us to order and the people beside us gave the order after us, but somehow managed to get there food before us. Kid-friendliness: 1 Kid eat free with the purchase of 2 Raman and 2 drinks Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs.
delicious food and amazing customer service. everyone is very polite and accommodating to customizing the meals :) love it here so much
Really good fresh food, could have had a little more flavour. Perhaps some sauce flavour like sesame oil or chili oil. Was a little bland. Also, they brought my dish out before everything else, everything should have been brought out together. Minor point. But the food was really nice.
My Bestie Steff and I had lunch at Sansotei Ramen at Scarborough Town Centre and we enjoyed it! The entrance to the eatery was welcoming. The display case with the bowls as well as the display of Japanese beverages amped our excitement to explore the tastes from a land far away. Their menu has options for people who are vegan and meat eaters. I decided on the chicken (Rangi) with Seaweed Salad and Croquette while Steff opted for the Shoyu. The waitress asked Steff if she wanted thin or thick noodles (it s helpful to know there is an option) and Steff decided on thick. The food tasted very good. I appreciated the kick of ginger in the chicken. The portion sizes were just right. Sansotei is spacious (tables are not too close together) and the service is definitely oriented to the customer (the wait staff repeats the order for accuracy). Located in the Scarborough Town Centre there is ample parking outside. Access, including Ramos and elevators are plentiful making dining inclusive. We dined at 1pm on a Tuesday afternoon and did not have to wait too long to be seated and served. Enjoy!
Great ramen. Consistent taste and quality with their other locations.
Happy to see STC with ramen at the food court. Ordered the tonkotsu black with thick noodles. Food was good and consistent with other locations but service was slow.
Having a late lunch while roaming in Scarborough Town Center.
Visited this location for the first time. The soup is not as rich as the Markham location. Will not return again.
Friendly staff and great food! My fave in here is black tonkotsu ramen, the broth is soooooo rich, especially adding garlic oil. Definitely a thurm up! Highly recommend!
Gone are the days when you can order a ramen for $11+tax for $18+tax (i ordered the tomato ramen) i thought it was good but not really worth it i wished the broth had more tomato flavor without the piercing acidity of tomato paste. Theres likely other ramen shops i would choose over Sansotei at $18 however i do recognize that they have other options that are $14-17. This location is inside the STC food court and is relatively spacious given that it is inside a food court.
expensive very salty
Broth was mid, as well as noodles. service was mid. Nothing spectacular. Place looked nice though. Overpriced overall.
How can you get a lemon ramen? We ordered our ramen and luckily I am a fast eater which I didnt directly tasted the lemon chemical. However my wife ended up eating a LEMON flavour ramen due to she is a slow eater. We inhaled all the chemical that the server was using the lemon chemical to clean table. I am officially done with this ramen place. Ive complained to the manager and he didnt do anything at for my ordeal. Consumers BEWARE!!!
Its okay, but definitely have had better Ramen in the city. Definitely a healthier choice than some of the fast food options around, but if you have a car, there are better options.
First Impression Last. We were very excited to dine-in on their soft opening at the STC branch. It just so happened that when we arrived 7:50PM, no staff approached us, and when we are about to sit.. one of their staff rudely shoved us off and repeatedly saying they are closed and called for the last order 15mins prior. Their schedule is 11:00AM-8:00PM, my point is, there is still time to serve and to eat. If you put on your big sign that the store is open 11:00AM-8:00PM then do not accept orders beyond 8:00PM not at 7:45PM. Very disappointing after waiting for so long to open. We even travelled far just to come today after our work only to be treated poorly by the staff. I would accepted it if the staff was nice and apologetic but she is not. Considering that there arent even many people inside only very very few.
yum teaste very goo! i like food there much much! staff was lit too and one of them had mad drip 11/10 would recooomend! food is yum
Excellent food and service. I had the Miso Black and everything was prepared perfectly. Our server was very friendly too.
Sansotei is definitely a welcome addition to the STC. Sandwiched between two fried chicken restaurants, its refreshing to see some diversity in the food offerings. Obviously, there are restaurants within the mall that can offer ramen but done right, only Sansotei can do that. We started with their fried chicken appetizer (like I said, chicken everywhere) and went with the traditional tonkotsu (and the black version) with the thin noodles and we couldnt have been happier. The food was presented well and the taste was on point. A nice rich broth with some delectable chasu. Cant be beat on those soggy days weve been having as of late. I can assure you, we will be back!
I love ramen and very happy that Sansotei is now at STC. Had the Tomato Ramen thin noodles and it was great. The chashu, the shiitake mushrooms, the egg, the soup, all very tasty. Well staffed and they were attentive with the little things like water refills and table cleaning after each customer. Can t wait to go back for another bowl of delicious ramen.
Food took 40 minutes to come. Had to order twice to get our foods
Good tasty place with this new restaurant in the Scarborough Shopping Centre. There also forgive to serve my ramen with wavy noodles. Probably because it is a new opening, there is a crowd and the close seating is not so safe.
Was just there to order 8 bowls of ramen and, they said they didnt do takeout.
Definitely better than the last Ramen shop I went too.
Here for our first time with an impromptu lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Great service and food. Especially love the Black Miso soup and slow-cooked spicy chicken wings.
Good service, place looks great. Got the Tonkatsu Ramen, the broth is perfect and I enjoyed every slurp of the noodles.
Ramen soup was not skimmed and incredibly oily. EDIT: we were there on May 13, 2022 at 12:30 pm. The order was Tonkatsu plus. I have had this dish at the Markham location twice and it was not nearly as oily. I skimmed off as much oil into a second bowl.
Ordered the Black tonkotsu, so delicious! The broth is creamy and extremely flavorful. The noodles are chewy in texture with a nice bite to them. Will definitely come back.
One of the better ramen places Ive been to. Food, service, and atmosphere were great. My girlfriend and I both commented on how the broth flavors were quite strong, which we liked. We appreciated the choice between thick or thin noodles. Also the fried chicken was very good. Prices were (just) fair for the portions. Would definitely come back!
Great food, great service. I had the spicy tan tan and the gyoza - very tasty. Staff were quick and happy to answer questions. Would definitely come back again.
Great service and food is delicious. I especially like the spicy tan tan. Love to drop by here everytime Im at STC since its a sit down restaurant and I dont feel rushed compared to eating in the food court.
FIVE stars for the taste of food, THREE for service, ONE star for prices, and ONE for quantity, for an average of 2.5 stars! The worst thing restaurants can do is to make customers a FIRST impression of getting ripped off...especially on the FIRST visit! Examples of our experience: * We ordered a NEW corn appetizer. They served us TWO tiny, chicken nuggets-sized snacks for $5.00! * The ramen is great, but the quantity is sooo pathetic-----childrens sized. * Our lunch came to $92 w/taxes & tips for 4 people (June 18, 2022). Thats $23 for a small bowl of noodle soup (?!) There are so many other Asian places (i.e. phos, Yunshang Rice noodles etc. thatd give you much more, and even UNLIMITED refills of noodles too!!!) Verdict/Constructive Critique to Sansotei Ramen: 1) Stay competitive or youd have to keep attracting one-time patrons. 2) Wipe the oily bowls clean on the outside so patrons hands dont get unexpected grease on their hands!
This is the best Sansotei location I ve been to. This was literally the best chashu I ve ever had in my life. I don t know why the STC location is superior but I m glad because it s close to home!! So happy they opened here, finally have good ramen in Scarborough. The staff are lovely! I can t wait to come back. Lots of seating and very clean. The Tonkatsu is my all time fave, the broth is beautiful and toppings were super fresh. Seriously though order extra chashu because it s amazing.
Tried the Tonkotsu Black and Miso Black and the broth was good for both. Eggs were also tasty. Location in STC is super convenient and quite nice.
I went with my brother when they first opened up and it was delightful! Although there are not a lot of vegetarian options and everything is majority pork-based, it was still filling and filled with flavour. I enjoyed the interior and customer service was good. Super nutritious and packed with flavour in every bite, so can t complain much! Would come back again because my brother really enjoyed the ramen!
Honestly one of the best ramen places around the area. I ve been to another location but this location is definitely better. The flavour, temperature and portion of the food was definitely enough to keep you full. The service was very fast and efficient. I will definitely be coming back especially during the colder months.
I rarely eat ramen, but these bowls are delicious. The broth is thick, the pork belly is cooked well, and all topping is fresh.
Finally a nice ramen place in stc! Love their spicy tan tan. This is just an additional to my review before! This place has a positive vibes! I came back for spicy tan tan! Unfortunately they are out of it. Luckily there s a server who introduced me to super mega shoyu. I actually loved it and i know for sure that if u like spicy tan tan you will definitely like this limited edition ramen! On top of that I also tried the mango cheesecake I thought it was weird since it s mango on a cheesecake. It turned out to be good! The cake is moist and it s also not sweet! I ll definitely come back before they get rid of the super mega shoyu.
I love my experience here. Place is very cozy. Service is fast. Attendants are nice and attentive. Lots of tables. Price is really reasonable. Food is very tasty. Serving size is also good. We enjoyed our chat and the privacy while waiting for our orders. Great spot by the elevator at the main entrance.
The food was good. But service was slow, it took too long to be seated and the food took more than 20 minutes to be served. (I ordered one bowl of soup). Servers were polite and friendly though.
Tasty ramen with great soup
up to par as cheap mall ramen, super yummy and fast. my only complaint is that the egg yolk was very cold but definitely this location has the best sansotei chashu ive had.
The soup and chicken dish are great, but the bambooshoots are rotten, idk what happened, I used to visit here every weekend.
Enjoyed my eat here today. Had their Shoyu ramen, the flavour of the broth was really good. Came in a busy time but was served really well and efficiently. 100% recommend.
Same as always.
I have always passed this ramen place whenever I was at STC so I finally gave it a try one Saturday afternoon. The place has a premium feel. There was something like a front desk receiving area and the table and chairs are not cheap looking. The menu looks old and very worn out though. I wish they consider laminating it or have it made of more durable material. My companion ordered the Miso Black ($17.50) and I initially tried ordering the Tomato *ramen ($16.50). I was disappointed when the server let me know that there were no tomatoes available during that time so I ordered something else instead. I ended up ordering the Vegetarian Mazemen Sansotei Style ($14) which is a spicy mixed noodle dish with eggplant peperoncini, corn and green onion. For someone who has a fairly low hot and spicy tolerance level, I can say the dish was manageable. It was spicy but not too much where it can become hot to the tongue. I personally, dont like the red strands garnish looking thing sprinkled on top of the noodles, but all other ingredients are fine. After mixing everything the dish does eventually come together and it came out good. I can also recommend their Miso Black ramen. The bowl was generously filled with meat and toppings and it was not just made up mostly of soup. The broth flavour was also very rich and delicious.
Sansotei has always been my go to ramen shop and I m so happy that there s one near me now.
This location is very interesting. Ive been to the one off of Adelaide which was great. The STC location has no washroom and you have to walk across the mall to get to one. The food is still superb, but the Tonkatsu+ was different with the pastrami and meatballs. Tasted more Italian than Japanese.
This particular Sansotei Ramen is located in the upstairs section of eateries at Scarborough Town Centre (right by Jollibee, Chick-fil-A, and Tim Hortons). The service was good (including providing kids utensils and extra bowls and napkins for our little ones), and we were attended to quite quickly. The restaurant is fairly spacious and modernly decorated, and seating is also comfortable. Many of the tables are right by the pathway in that area of the mall, with views of the skylights. The seating is, however, also very close to the adjacent eateries, so depending on where you sit, its not very private. The line for Jollibee, for example, was right behind our table. Not a deal breaker, but just something to consider! We ordered corn croquettes, which were crispy and came out right away, but the 3 bowls of ramen we ordered took forever! Im surprised we waited so long because it wasnt super packed, though there were a lot of takeout orders, so maybe that accounted for the delay. My tomato ramen also came out lukewarm instead of hot, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, we still enjoyed the meal (especially our kids), so we would probably go back, but hopefully the wait isnt as long next time!
Salty
The Ramen is excellent. I had the Tonkotsu Black, my 8 year old had the tonkotsu traditional and my husband had the spicy TanTan. All three delicious. Presentation was eye catching. Texture of the mushroom and the noodle was perfect and the flavour of the broth was not salty like at other ramen restaurants. The eggs had an umami flavour that was mind-blowing! Paired up with their hot matcha Green tea makes the perfect combination. The service was excellent too! Super recommended if you want a warm hearty satisfying bowl of noodle soup on these chilly days!
Didn t expect the ramen to be this good especially at a mall. Had both the regular and black garlic tonkotsu ramen, and they both came with good broth (it s on the greasier side) and large amount of toppings. Definitely would visit again.
It is one of my favour place Japanese ramen noodle. Foods are always good. I like here more because you can get more space to sit with your family or friends .
Well to start of, theyhad a nice offer Ramen & gyoza for $20 which was all good, I got the Miso black it was ok in taste , same goes for the Tonkotsu black. Gyoza was alright. Overall my experience was average I felt like the broth got oily which killed the flavour, I would say I didnt enjoy that much.
Im not much into noodles but this is the best Ramen Ive tasted so far. Ive got the cravings already
Love the Asahi Dry Black Beer.
Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant staff is ridiculously unethical staff is rude can t accommodate us customers wanting to requests to sit in the corner beside the back counter the hosts says we cannot seat as the staff will have difficult to serve us it s inconvenience to them I said I m here for a business meeting plus my mom 80yo will be joining our meeting while we have soup but staff could not accommodate my requests. I ask to speak with the manger in charge lady says non and they ll tell me same thing. Oh I was bothered and annoyed we ve been going to sansotei in downtown 9yo whenever we crave for soup we didn t have customer service issue also in birchmount and 7 as well staff was very accommodating. That s why I rate this location really low I was so hungry as well as my mom and the person I had arranged the meeting with I was embarrassed and ashamed of this place! Dear owner let me just tell you again my mom was in the mall too I invited her including supposed to be 3 of us I know what my intentions were I choose your restaurant specifically but your staff are not accommodating due to our requests it wasn t even far to be serving us from the seats we ve requested plus if they given us the seat THAT WE KINDLY asks my mom would join us the more you ll make money just bad service that s all there is to it!!! Now you just lost customers there s lots of ramen out there we use to go out of our way to go Dundas or birchmount 7 but now since this service we were given by your inexperienced staff and arrogant sorry my French language
Finally see Ramen in STC. Great service and food! Try the Tonkatsu Black! Delicious
