Old Coca-Cola machine the highlight of my day...enjoyed Beyond Burger, fries and Barq's. Enjoyable and tasty!
Not interested to eat here after read all the bad reviews about this place. Saw many people sitting with empty tables, know how long it takes to serve. 🧐☹️
It's a Monday so they are not very busy. Not sure why it took so long to get our food. When it did arrive, the North Burger was awful. Tasteless, frozen patty. Save your money!
I had some fries and chicken tenders, unfortunately the fries were small and not very tasty either :/ the wait was even worse, my family who was with me had separate orders that took over 10 minutes to get which is absurd especially for a simple pizza
Awful experience I understand that it's a tourist place however 20$ for a burger??? Not good at all
Generic overpriced cafeteria food that'd be comparable to any common takeout counter you'd find at any minor league sports venue. The service is slow and lackadaisical, though understandable considering most of the workers are summer hired teenagers and the large volume of customers they serve daily. Portion sizes are not worth what you pay, and since some of these restaurants are contracted, I'm not sure how much of the money actually goes back to the zoo. If you purchase anything alcoholic, be prepared to wait even longer, as it appears only the manager has access to that particular fridge. Overall, if you're able to carry it, I'd recommend packing your own picnic, there's plenty of places to sit down and eat all over the zoo.
In the wintertime, this is the only food option available besides Tim Horton's at the entrance. Burgers are done fresh but fries are small. Quite expensive markup at the zoo unfortunately. Still, a nice clean place to stop at and be warm during winter visits. In the summertime there are more restaurants open in the middle of the African Savannah as well as by the polar bears.
2022 September 3★ Speed of execution.... Slow. Like all other posts, expect to wait in line for at least 20 mins to order and then about 10 minutes in another line to pick up. Food... It's ok. The chicken strip's were pretty good. The onion rings were good. The poutine was so so. Love me tenders combo $16.19 + poutine upgrade $4.49 + onion rings upgrade $1.59 Tables were clean. Staff cleaned the full bins. Lots of indoor air conditioned space. Separate covered section that wasn't.
Do not order the chicken wrap!!
Waited for my mediocre food for over 40 minutes because they forgot my order. Unorganized as hell
We came to the zoo on a Wednesday in May, and the eating options were very limited. Are here as we didn t have much choice. Way overpriced, super slow. I d rather bring myself a sandwich next time I visit the zoo.
Good food option, like hamburgers to satisfy hunger after having walked through the zoo. They give you the burgers in containers that you can recycle in the same place, the wait is not long. If you end up satisfied with the food
Food quality is horrible, prices are crazy high. Just bring your own food. Care about your family because they dont.
In order of events First my order was wrong completely different then what I asked for them when I asked them to correct it BC I wasnt eating plant burgers took 2-3 staff members to fix and about ten minutes Then my order sat on the ready shelf for about ten minutes while at the time they only had a total of 3 order to complete The staff had checked the order tickets like 3-5 times too confirm what was needed to fill the orders.... Thats way too many times to remember 6 menu items to make.... Cant imagine what my experience works have been like is there was an actual line up and not only 3 orders Wrong do that again
Great
Pizza pizza- I ve never felt worse
As much as I can appreciate that theres a lot of people, I must say that the service is pretty slow. The food is literally ready but it takes forever to place on the trays and get the orders moving. The holdback is unexplainable... Not to say that for two slices of pizza and two bottles of water it cost $22...whats going on people. That somewhat explains the 2.9 average rating that the Toronto Zoo has.
Overcrowded place specially in Spring time.
Only accepted cash
Vegetarian options: Cheese pizza was the only option Food
Good food. Obviously quite expensive but the pizza and fries were definitely good. Food
Ordered poutine, burger, tenders. We ate none of it. It was terrible. Poutine was soggy. Burger was tiny dry and flavorless, chicken tenders were barely cooked, no crunch to the breading. Not worth the premium price.
The food isnt that great it is basic fast food. They cannot make substitutions. I asked for a plain burger and got all the sauces and condiments anyway. Almost 60 dollars to feed 3 people which is somewhat understandable with it being in the zoo. The only thing African about it was the fact it was in the African part of the zoo. Not impressed but when your at the zoo you expect the mark up. My advice is being your own food.
Its in the zoo, there were a lot of people. Long line, but fast service. Good food. Very noisy.
Food was decent, the variety was meh and the fries the first time were well overcooked or they got cooked sat then recooked to look like fresh fries
Had the bacon and cheese burger with fries and ginger ale everything was great and the staff was friendly Wheelchair accessibility: I use a walker and they have everything spaced apart with no worries about moving around
Food was rather pricey - a little bit more than you would spend at a fast food joint - but it was delicious and offered an awesome variety of meat/chicken/vegetarian. Fairly long wait in line during peak times but worth it!
Good food
Our favourite place to eat at the Toronto Zoo. Good variety and tasty food.
Not a great overall experience, the food is very overpriced for being mediocre at best. The poutine was not good at all, no salt on the fires, bland gravy, and room temp, non-squeaky cheese curds. The burger wasnt much better, it had no taste to it at all. The hotdog felt almost rubbery and the bun was stale. I will say that the service was quite good, though this places name is very misleading as theres no restaurant service, just cashiers like every other fast food place. There was also no atmosphere at all, not even music playing, which is unfortunate given the prime location they have. The whole restaurant could use a bit of a makeover with some theming. Also there are several things at this restaurant that are closed on weekdays so make sure you check whats open on the day you go.
Staff was friendly they helped us with ice for my son after he fell down. Thanks for this. Unfortunately I was totally disappointed because there were no clean tables inside and we had to clean our table and even floor for ourselves. I guess it happened because of lack of staff on 25th of December.
Burnt burger, bad fries, I make better nuggets myself, cola 6/10
WORST PLACE EVER (Pizza Pizza & Grill & Cie). Bad, slow, careless service. Mixed up order (ordered veggie burger, got chicken). Long line, slow service - waited too long for simple food order. Tables and chairs nasty, dirty food area, no one cleaning. Disgusting. Expensive menu items for skimpy small chicken. Cheese pizza tasted like a vat of oil. Workers confused about what is on bill, taking long time to figure it out - dont know what they are doing. Wasted a lot of time here, for mediocre food. Could be zero stars.
Slow service, dirty, sticky tables, food was subpar. Price was decent but the restaurant should not be that dirty on such a slow day.
This place is the slowest and most unorganized spot in the zoo. Lady taking orders instead of helping her staff actually fulfill them.
I don t usually make reviews about bad service, but after my experience yesterday I was honestly disappointed. First of all, the prices were crazy and it cost me half a hundred bucks for my meal. The line was super long and it was definitely not worth the wait. They ended up burning my burger and my fries came soggy, as if they dipped it in water then served it to me. The tables are rarely ever cleaned, same with the floors. Not to mention that one of the employees there called us (customers) dumb right in front of everyone and said we couldn t read. I have no problem if you say that to your employees in the back, but it s completely unprofessional to say that in front of your customers. I ended up getting Dairy Queen after, the line was 2 minutes long, and worth it for how much I payed. Next time I ll be bringing my own food.
Vegetarian options: Not many Kid-friendliness: Available Wheelchair accessibility: Available
This location is everything the bad reviews give it, for sure. Its slow and expensive and typical for a theme park or zoo. I recognize though that food at a zoo is usually not this good. I had the Buffalo chicken poutine at smokes poutinerie. If youre planning to eat at the Africa restaurant I have to recommend it! Its outside just beside the bathrooms so it can be hard to notice. Ordering is slow and the staff at locations like these are understandably under a lot of pressure. If you dont have the patience I recommend bringing your own food to eat at the many picnic areas in the park.
Overpriced which is expected. The food however was terrible. Undercooked fries, pizza was bland and the hot dog ....oh my ...horrible. should not serve it.
Very busy at lunch time, does have air conditioning and it is fast food so dont expect anything fancy. Also, prices are super expensive. Im talking $10 for a slice of cheese pizza and a little chocolate milk. Vegetarian options: They did have vegetarian options, veggies burger and salad. Kid-friendliness: Kids meals available
The food was absolutely overpriced cold and horrible
Waited 5min for staff finish their before they served me an over priced stale coffee....shouldve gone back to the front for the Tim Hortons express
Received no meat patties in the burger. Just the bun and lettuce.
The price gouging is awful. Let this review serve as a reminder to bring your own food, rather than pay $20 for chicken strips
That was the slowest service Ive ever experienced. No one hustled at all. 50 minutes for 3 poutines and a side of fries. Terrible value at $72 with soft drinks
Its about what youd expect, a simple restaurant offering basics (burgers, hot dogs, Pizza Pizza, routine, onion rings, chicken tenders, chips, drinks including alcohol, frozen treats, etc. Food is fine, clean environment. Just outside there are Smokes Poutinerie and Dairy Queen. Large amount of seating inside with some tables outside with a small kids playground. Vegetarian options: Veggie burger option exists. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, small park just outside. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.
There was hair in my poutine
Worst Pizza Ever
Chips/pizza/cola etc. All the usual stuff youd expect. Nothing to write home about, but nothing materially wrong either. Just standard zoo/theme park food.
Ok
it took a long time to get our pizza and some of the pop types in the sofa fountain were out of flavour syrup so we got fizzy water there was also a mouse running around
Nice break at the zoo
Waited 40 min in line and waited over an hour for a pizza
There was no fries, no ice and the burger was cold.
No line up, friendly staff and yummy poutine.
Too expensive
Food and service = Awful Bring back McDonalds!
Really good restaurant, kids friendly. Everyone wear mask
Pretty quiet location but good sevice
Fantastic. Poutine wasnt in season anymore but we sure did enjoy our wings and fries, even met a wasp friend who joined us for lunch and then the gulls got to dine on us when we hadnt finished our fries.
Closed for the season but a terrific place to grab some food or a beer and watch the rhinos roam.
too expensive when i came here
The burger was like rubber. Tasted horrible and bad texture. The onion rings and fries were alright.
The Worker was laughing at my family member because she said something wrong honestly they shouldnt work here.
Decent options of food.
Very rude employee and coke is warm. Do not go there and bring your lunch box.
This place was probably the worst restaurant Ive ever been to. I expected the food to be more expensive than usual, but not this bad. They charged my boyfriend and I $21.55 for two chicken burgers and a bottle of water. The burgers had limp, stale, off coloured lettuce, and watery, mushy, flavourless tomatoes. The piece of chicken was small and dry. There was NO sauce or anything. Basically a piece of overcooked meat between bread. 10/10 the WORST experience Ive had and Ill never be coming to the zoo without a home packed lunch again.
Bad quality food and service. Bring in competition so that prices would be reasonable and of course better quality... Welcome to the modern world.
