Food is pretty delicious. My go to Indian place. Could use more meat. Feltnlike mostly potatoes. But the curry is delicious
September 8, 2024 Well, I ordered from here for the first time today - boneless lamb biryani. The medium spice level was as I requested and there was an ample amount of tender lamb pieces. The low rating is because of the rice. I've had many biryanis from many restaurants and the basmati rice has always been light, fluffy and separated. And since biryani is a rice dish, the rice here is what caused the 2⭐️ rating. This rice was definitely overcooked to the point of being mushy. It was soft and stuck together like it was made for people with no teeth. It had no texture. See the photos of rice/biryani under review for Zam Zam Tikka and Kaba. The next time I have food from this establishment will only be if someone else is paying.
The staff is very friendly and the quantity of the food served has hefty portions. The chicken Biryani and the Chicken Tikka Masala Roti are a must try 🙌🏾
Stopped by for a lunch. Butter chicken roti was pretty good. Good portion size
We discovered Anna Roti when we moved to the area a few years back and, absolutely love it. It’s better than Gandhi Roti (when it existed, which was all the rave in downtown). The butter chicken roti is FULL of chicken and not filler like competitors. The price is ok. 2 rotis for just under $40 with tip. It’s not “cheap”, but worth it. 2 rotis will feed 4 adults lunch. The flavour is outstanding. It keeps us coming back again and again :)
If you are looking for authentic traditional, Indian vs Caribbean Roti, this is the spot! Loads of meat and they don’t add potatoes in there Roti. Just be careful cause the spicy is spicy!
I was looking for an Indian-style roti place to go to, and I found it! Walked in to find a couple working there, although I could have ordered online as well (turns out after you pick online what type of roti you want, then you choose the meat of chicken lamb or shrimp). Lamb was good, as was the butter chicken (chicken chunks were uneven in size, as smaller pieces were good but one large chunk would be dry). And the spice... Butter chicken mild was right for my eating partner, and lamb korma medium was a good kick while still tasting the flavour of the food. Will definitely pay them another visit!
OMG. If I die right now, I’ll die happy. I finally tried this place and the Butter Chicken Roti is beyond perfect. Forget all the others. This place is phenomenal. The serving size is extremely generous. The restaurant is impeccably clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. But to be honest, even if they were Seinfeld Soup Nazi rude, I’d eat here every day. I have never tasted anything this delicious in my life. Is it cheap? No. Is it worth every penny and then some....YES! I only rated it five stars because a million stars was not an option.
Unhygienic environment..food taste is pathetic.. ordered roti once, had to be in toilet all the time after eating it.. too much spicy even if ordered for mild spicy. The owner dont like criticism and make lies when faced with truth about their poor food quality.
SO good. The food is stellar and the people are nice! Can t wait to go back.
Great food and great service
Worst food ever had in whole life. Bad customer service and poor food quality. They dont communicate properly with the customers and cant accept criticism about their poor food quality.
Used to be good, sadly i think the quality has gone down unfortunately
Vegetarian options: They have some veg options with roti or rice. Spinach potato, chana, paneer, aloo Gobi, etc. Parking: Common parking area for a strip mall. Never been a problem finding one.
5 star, A1A, quite possibly the greatest Roti on earth. Jalfrezey rotis are a food to write home about, and I have.
Unfortunately, the food is very disappointing and a waste of money.
Really good samosa chaat, and really good butter chicken roti. Been meaning to try this place for a while, and not I regret not going here a long time ago! Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options
One of my favorite lunch spots. Food is amazingly prepared and portions are more than enough. Vegetarian options: My vegan coworker has enjoyed from there in past. Parking: Strip plaza with plenty of parking
Extremely worst restaurant. The owner and employees are very rude to customers. The food quality is very bad and the place is unhygienic. Found hair on food
Very good fresh foods for good price always ready fast and very filling good portion sizes very friendly store owner good veggie options as well
Amazing food. Loved the rotis , chicken tikka masala and samosa chat. Authentic Indian taste.
Sweet people. Great food. Never disappointed.
Theyre my favorite restaurant near the bluffs. Ive tried most of their dishes as I live nearby, and none have disappointed. Do be careful, the spice level can get too much, dont be afraid to order mild or mild to medium. Their prices are also fair for the amount they serve (I always have leftover for dinner or the next day)! Their deserts selection is also pretty good, especially their Rasamalai. Cannot recommend enough. Favorite Dish: Vindaloo Goat Roti Least Favorite: Mango Chicken Curry Roti.
Anna Roti House is one of the best option for lunch and dinner. There all foods are very delicious and healthy. This is very well decorated with colourful lights and atmosphere is calm. The prices of their foods are comparatively reasonable. So,this will be a great option for everyone......
Was a very good sign to walk in and see food sizzling on the stove. We knew it would be fresh and made to order. My husband and I having been looking for a great roti spot since our favourite place closed down, and weve definitely found it here. We had the biryani and butter chicken roti and both were delicious.
The butter chicken on rice wasn t to my personal taste. For the price it did not contain a lot of meat.
Tried butter chicken roti. It was tasty. A different concept for roti and curry.
Perfectly cooked dishes and generous servings. OUTSTANDING!
Hidden Gem, I love this place! The best Roti place since Ghandi s, all their roti s are exceptional, their chicken biriani is amazing
Wow! I couldnt believe the size of my roti. So tasty and great value for the price - enough for two meals. I had the traditional spice roti but look forward to trying some of the others, like the korma. Note: medium spice is SPICY. I love it but just keep that in mind when ordering!
After having Roti in many many places in Toronto I will say that this truly is the absolute best I have ever had. Vegetarian options: They have a whole section dedicated to vegetarian choices
This place has NEVER disappointed EVER! In the pandemic years and now, I looked at my Uber history and hands down we have ordered here more than everything else combined. It s our go to favourite delivery place. Big chunks of lamb and chicken in their roti, delicious sauces with excellent portion size. Thank you Anna Roti for your consistent excellence.
Best butter chicken roti Ive had! Recommended in a neighbourhood group, tried and will definitely be back! Fast service, the portions are huge, theres indoor seating and free parking Vegetarian options: They offer an entire list vegetarian options Parking: Free parking, lots of spots in the plaza
9 times out of 10 you are going to get an amazing, oversized, perfectly spiced roti that will feed you two meals easy! 1 of 10 your going to get one that is just a little bland. Therefore its one of the most consistent restaurants Ive ever been to lol. Their mango pickles are generally outstanding. Vegetarian options: Saag paneer
Was looking for a good place to eat some good food since I was in the area and came across Annas. Walked in and I was immediately greeted by Sughandi. Apparently, she is rhe only person who is running the whole show (11 hours days) while rhe owner is on vacation back home. We ordered Madras chkn roti n Chaat Papri. Both were just 10/10. Everything we needed from it was present. It looked great, smelled great and most importantly tasted great. While eating the Roti we commented how similar it was to rhe Rotis we used to eat from another well established n highly respected Indian restaurant which was an institution in rhe Roncevales area - Mother India. It turns out the chef John learned his craft while working in that restaurant and then 4 years later opened this outpost in Scarborough. He has done Morher India really proud. I would def go back and order more of this and more. The one thing I will say this restaurant lacks is in how decrepid and run down the atmosphere of the seating area looks and feels. The whole seating area needs a hose down....not even a wash down but it needs to be hosed down. It would be best to buy your food and leave the restaurant, eat it in your car or at home or in the park anywhere but inside the restaurant. I wont even comment on the washroom. I will leave it at that. The state of the restaurant is not due to the lack of care by the only person working there. She is doing everything else. The fault lies in it not being staffed appropriately. You cant expect one old lady to do everything. You need to provide her w assistance. If only to keep the place clean.
Vegetarian options are delicious.
It was okay
I didn t like the taste of tikka masala at all but the roti was good. The tikka masala could be better than this. Their staffs were friendly also the place was clean.
Always good roti from chef John. Have ordered delivery and pickup and it is always fresh and warm! 10/10 I recommend the authentic chicken curry roti
I ordered chicken Tikka Roti, and it was disappointing. I have tried a lot of Indian and Mughlai, but I am not sure what kind of Tikka Masala this dish has.
Best roti in the town Vegetarian options: Vegetarian roti also available Parking: No turn from parking lot
They definetly stuffed the roti well with thick pieces of chicken. If you want spicy, theyll give you spicy. They clearly care about their food and customers.
No body should go there. Very bad very bad service and food. Don t go there. Wasting money.
I love this place! The food is fantastic, especially the vegetable Biryani. It has the perfect amount of spice, along with an exceptional flavour.
Was looking for a new place to try that was close by. This was also my partners first time trying Indian food and he is now a fan. We ordered for pick up through the website and paid before hand. It was easy, fast and the physical pick up with quick and pleasant. The rotis each weighed a ton and piping hot. The flavors were great and the chicken tasted fresh and unlike the negative reviews, there was an abundance of chicken pieces. Will be coming back and trying out other items on the menu.
Wow our family tried Anna Roti House tonight for the first time and it is excellent! The kids are already asking us when we can get it again.
Very bad service. I am an Uber driver and I am an IBS Patient. I wanted to use their washroom while waiting for the order to be packed, the man refused to allow me to use the washroom. When I told him its against the law, he argued with me and told me to show it to him. When I showed him on the google, he still argued and did not allow me to use their washroom. Shouldnt such restaurants be charged or closed down as penalty?
Tried the lamb byriani, portion size was good, unfortunately it was mainly rice with very little lamb, will not return and as far as this dish goes would not recommend
My friends had highly recommended this place so I tried the matar paneer roti for take out tonight- it didnt disappoint! The food was neatly packed with my order written on the cover. The roti was filled with the matar paneer dish - this style of serving the 2 items together was a novelty for me. I chose the mild level of spice but it still had all the flavour and taste. It is slightly pricey for Scarborough but the quality is way better than in the average restaurant in Scarborough.
I was looking for a good roti place near our house and were unsuccessful until we stumbled upon this gem. Tried the chicken madras roti and Mala kofta roti. The taste was amazing. The food was piping hot when we received it and simply tasted yum. You could taste the fresh ingredients and spices used. Happy I stumbled upon this place and will definitely return for more. Highly recommend.
Worst food
Weve driven by this place dozens of times but didnt pay any attention to it until we heard a review on the CBC. Now we wish we had gone there earlier because the food is awesome. We had the madras roti with lamb and it was absolutely delicious, with large portions (we had it for lunch and had enough left over for the next day) and spiced just right for us (we asked for mild, and it was hot but not too hot to overpower the taste). Well be going back.
Came across this place from a review on fb, Tried butter chicken as it was popular. Food was really good for the price, Chef Sauganda was hospitable and introduced herself. Will be coming back
I have a Butter chicken Roti.. its taste is delicious... As well as staff also very friendly... Its one of my favourite restaurant in Scarborough... Ill come back
I stopped going to Tara Inn because of this restaurant . Absolutely unbearable smell. Owners should consider moving business to secluded location so patrons of bear by businesses dont have to suffer. Pathetic!
Worst Samosa Chat and Allo tikki chaat. It tastes very bad. First time I ordered food and that also i checked ratings and thought, it might be good but food isn t good at all. I am not going to order from this restaurant ever.
Best butter chicken in the city Get the roti, and if youre not local pick up 2
The best roti in Canada Home made roti, fresh, delicious
What we really appreciate is the quality of the meat that you get in the chicken dishes. This is not a place where you have to worry about the quality of meat in the roti. All of the flavours are great and this place is seriously underrated, even at 4.5 Google stars.
If you like roti, this is one of the BEST places Iv found, it s almost as good as the iconic Ghandi s that closed down during the pandemic, but Anna roti house, has some of the best roti & Briyani Iv ever had, the spices & flavours are exceptional! Highly recommend
Delicious. My go to has become the jalfrezi roti. Loaded with good stuff and great sauce. Great price, price flavour big portion. 10/10
My daughter got some food from here and yet had never heard of this place nor tried it, but I tasted it and was good, So I ordered the saag paneer roti and it was sooo good! Will definitely be ordering again! Yummy
My appetite tripled as soon as I walked into their restaurant when my senses were welcome by the fragrance of their food. I asked the lady what s your best roti , she replied butter chicken roti . I m still trying to finish that delicious dish while I write this review. I m certain there are two chicken breasts swimming in one of the best butter chicken sauces I ve had, I asked for spicy and it was the perfect amount of spicy. Don t be intimidated by the $14 price tag. It s some really good eating. You can feed two people with one roti or one hungry operator. Besides no one wants cheap butter chicken, we ve all made that disappointing mistake before.
Wish there was an option of getting roti on the side, I didnt like the soggy roti in my delivery!
Drove across the GTA to try this. Definitely worth it! Taste even better than I was promised. Service was great too. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Great rotis and curries, reasonable pricing.
Shared the Chicken Tikka Roti and was so filling. Large chunks of chicken and some potatoes. Come check this place out, its yummy!
A good alternative if roti lady is not picking up the phone. Not the most exquisite flavours but pretty divine. Would and have been there again. Bold claim on their window decal, bold flavours in their aloo gobi roti. Not sure if they carry Monster Energy.
Lots of selection from the menu with great good and service. Ordered mixed vegetable curry roti with spice options for mild, medium, and spicy. Highly recommended the place.
The man touched money and did not wash his hands after and went on to touch food..
The most delicious roti Ive ever ever EVER had. We order from here once a week. So happy to patronize their business, I hope they stay around for a long long time.
this was, hands down, the best madras roti Ive ever had.
We plan on ordering a few extra dishes to store in the fridge the next time we are driving through Toronto. Fantastic and super fresh and delicious
Wonderful complex flavors. The butter chicken roti substituting lamb is drool worthy.
Please dont call it a restaurant. Totally unhygeinic and unpressional behaviour. Found hair in the food.
This is delicious food. I had the butter lamb roti. I picked medium spice. It was mild. So, perhaps pick a level of spice higher than you think you want. But, the flavours were solid. The texture was creamy, not too thick, nor too thin. The roti was perfect. These people very work hard to bring you good food.
I tried their butter chicken roti. One of the best butter chicken roti with a great portion. Value for money. Highly recommended.
I almost tried everything in this restaurant. My most fav one is chicken biryani. Love to go to this place.
One of the best restaurants in Toronto. They have a wide variety of options. I would recommend their butter chicken roti and Chicken sag for your best experience. The employees are also really nice. I would love to visit this place again
Extremely unorganized. Also the place is very unsanitary.
One of the best food spots in Scarborough, I been a regular customer for 2 months. Here my favorite foods are butter chkn roti, madras Masada, and spicy ckn biriyani. The place is well maintained and clean.I recommend this restaurant this to everyone.
This restaurant is one of my favourite food spot in Scarborough. Good food with fine quantity. The butter chicken roti and chicken sag roti highly recommend. The chkn and lamb biryani aswell.
Absolutely love their rotis. My second visit yesterday, ordered their Butter Chicken roti and Channa roti. Large portions, can be messy to share, but large enough for two to share imo. The roti wrap is so soft and light. Gulab Jamun is a tad pricier than other places but you can taste the quality. Will return!
Lots of selection from the menu I chose butter chicken roti, which was one of the best i have ever had. I recommend every roti lovers from Toronto to visit this restaurant.
Try their lamb option. Great lamb flavour without the pungent smell of the lamb. Love their curry, biryani is also top notch. Happened to pickup at the store, kitchen also looks very clean :)
Such a big portion with lots of chicken! I ordered mild-medium chicken tikka masala roti and it was delicious. Also very friendly staff, watched them make the roti fresh in front of me! Absolutely recommend :).
Anna Roti house ... a popular Indian restaurant in the cliffcrest neighborhood ! This authentic Indian restaurant takes you back to the tastes of India The highlight of this place was the super flavourful Biryani and flavour reminded me of india!! Butter chicken roti was good but found stuffing too much for the roti to hold. smell when you enter is strong but do Check out Anna Roti house!! insta:Tneats_
One of worst restaurant in town. Went by seeing the five star reviews. I seriously doubt those reviews are written by the owner and staffs. How can someone give more than 2 star for this ridiculous place.
Best roti and samosas ever!!! Favourite place for takeout food :) it s also very well priced!! Love it here.
My butter chicken roti (!) was huge, hot and with just the right amount of spice to keep my taste buds tingling. They have a huge assortment of vegetarian and non-vegetarian rotis as well. So if, like me, you enjoy thoroughly exploring a menu, Annas is a place to check out and keep coming back to.
Indian Curry in a roti style. The lamb curry was delicious. I was more in the mood of a Caribbean roti, and it wasn t that, but still delicious. The meat was actually good! Lots of big chunks.
Great food! Would highly recommend.
So delicious !
Been a regular since they opened and its always excellent.
great portions, great food! Ordered the saag & potato, and the butter chicken rotis. Both were very flavorful. yummy
I ordered take out roti from here and wow! I loved it. I eat a lot of roti and this has got to be one of my new favourites. I tried the Chana, Mutter Paneer, and Saag Paneer. All were amazing. Lots of veg options. Great delivery. Tastes even better the next day. The only issue I had was that some bay leaves were in my Chana roti that I had to pick out. But it was so tasty that I didnt mind at all. Highly recommend!
I orderd panner tikka roti it taste good with sufficient quantity.
I ordered a chicken curry roti and a butter chicken roti. The roti skins were tasteless and filled with what Im guessing is 98 percent sauce and two percent chicken. Salt seemed to be the only other ingredient. Just awful.
Incredibly flavourful, mouthwateringly delicious food
Im sorry for giving such a poor review, but this food is absolutely terrible. Ive eaten my fair share of East Indian food and this is subpar and an absolute disgrace. Id like to meet the people who reviewed this 3 stars and up - they need to be removed from reviewing restaurants in the future. We ordered the bhel puri, channa and aloo roti and bhaji and aloo roti. Terrible!!! All of them. The puri was saugi, the rotis were lacking of salt, pepper, tumeric, mustard seed.. traditional Indian spices. It tasted like a frozen dinner meant for grocery shelves. Never again!!! Response to owner: I never expected another order of rice. In fact, no one cares about free rice, especially when they are eating curry wrapped in roti. Who orders a side of rice? Also, to insinuate that I expected anything for free shows that you cannot take criticism. I hate basmati rice, I would never ask for an order of that! LOL! Is it just me or are you creating a lie to deflect the criticism? I do hope people read this review and go to Anna Roti House to try for themselves. Let your food be the judge!
Best roti in the city. Consistently delicious.
The curry vegie roti is to die for. Best for take out, not eat in.
The butter chicken roti is amazing! Tons of filling and tasty.
Humble hardworking chefs making great roti with halal options
You can t beat freshly cooked genuine Indian cuisine. Yummy!
Another 5 star review to go with the rest lol Delicious curry. Had the butter chicken and lamb madras..both great. ONLY thing id change is if they brought the price down 2 to 3 dollars. Its quite expensive but delicious. Friendly chef.
Finally a roti place nearby. Reasonably priced and delicious.
Chicken Tikka delicious! The team behind the counter friendly and efficient. Clean place with delicious food
This small, yet eclectic spot has its roots in the Village on Church St. It was a sweet spot for authentic south Asian cuisine and now Anna Roti House is owned and operated by Chef who made the same delectable fare that Id grown to love.
Great food, friendly staff and very clean place! We tried their authentic chicken curry roti, chicken madras masala roti and chicken tikka masala roti. I would like to give a shoutout to the owner/chef as well. He is very friendly, accommodating and always smiling... I also realized that every time I order something different from the menu, even if its my first time trying it, you can never go wrong. The portions are very generous and an order is enough for 2 people. I recommend to order an extra roti. You know that a great tasting food is waiting for you to be devoured! I hope that this place would last long. Definitely one of the best local restos in the area.
The butter chicken roti is very good.
Ive ordered pick up here a few times and every time its amazing. The portions are large and well worth the price. The butter chicken is great.
ZOMG please go here! 20 years I used to live above Venas Roti on Queen St W and that was awesome. Now that I live near Anna Roti, I feel just as lucky. Huge portion for the price, even just the basic curry chicken was frickin delicious. A roti could feed two who arent me, and even the drinks are bargain.
Their rotis and curries are delicious. They will adjust dishes to your spice level. The owner and chef is friendy.
Absolutely incredible!!
I absolutely love the food here! The flavours are out of this world. I love the butter chicken Roti and the lamb. Also love the chicken biryani and the samosas!!!! I am so happy they survived Covid!
Delicious rotis. Butter chicken is fantastic!
Great Roti and samosa chaat. Make it extra spicy please!
So flavorful! Im a fan!
Excellent taste. Medium heat spice was perfect. Quantity and quality fantastic Son had it first and now I ll be a customer
Amazing, tasty food!
Love the Butter Chicken Roti, served hot. Will return...lots of options.
Just wow, stop reading and go here! Fresh, cheap and delicious Go now!
Great sized portions with lots of meat and sauce. Definitely worth every penny paid. Place was clean and staff were friendly. Would highly recommend!
Excellent food and service. Will definitely go back. The good was prepared fresh and we enjoyed it .
ordered the saag paneer roti off uber eats and it was delicious! mango lassi is very tasty too.
The butter chicken roti here is the best I ve tried so far. It is a huge serving and is made fresh.
Very disappointed the reviews looked great thought I would check it out had the roti and honestly it was like a soup one tiny piece of potato very little chicken and a mountain of sauce I expected way better
It was perfect. Cant wait to go back.
Delicious Butter Chicken Roti!
One of the best Biriyani places i could find nearby. The quantity and portion of the food is plenty. The quality and taste is almost first class.
Great food and BIG portions
Great food that is quality and delicious and the staff is super nice! Support local!
I got the butter chicken roti and it was honestly the best butter chicken sauce I have ever had! I dont know if they make it themselves but it was great and I definitely recommend it. Also the roti itself and the chicken was really good too. I also got a mango lassi which was delicious too, hard to mess those up though
awesome, large portion roti, perfect for 2 people. Butter chicken was amazing, I asked for medium spice ... doesnt get much better than that.
Amazing roti chicken was so good .. hope to come back soon .
The question is not IF you should eat here; but rather when, and what to order. A: all the time & everything.
Tried this place for lunch today. Chicken curry with roti was good. Service a bit slow which is probably because they just opened. Portion are large enough for two. There is enough room for sitdown and child seats inside. The place seemed clean overall. ´To go´ bags and containers are paper and foil which is more enviro. friendly than platic alternatives.
Came here last week, tried the butter chicken roti and aloo tikka. The rotis are filling; you will likely end up with leftovers! Both dishes were flavourful and delicious, and well worth the wait (which was not too long). Very friendly staff. Will go back for sure!
Delicious vindaloo and curry shrimp roti, plenty of sauce, and every bite has good size chunks of meat and not too many potatoes which are cut to a nice size. Overall generous portions, not a long wait. Place is clean including the washrooms.
Absolutely amazing! Had the Mango Curry, just delicious! 100% would recommend
Some dishes are good, but not all. The portion sizes are plenty for one person.
So delicious and very friendly service. Had the Aloo Tikki appetizer and Aloo Gobi on rice - both so very satisfying and filling for two people. Look forward to coming back!
Paneer Tikka rotti was delicious, have to go back to try their butter chicken rotti.
The best butter chicken ever had in Toronto!
Best Butter Chicken Roti place. Highly recommended...!!!
New favorite place to grab a late dinner. Vindaloo Roti Chicken is delicious, the chicken is perfectly cooked.
First time on Friday, September 27 and had the mixed vegetable roti. Ordered it online. It was ready and hot when I arrived, stayed hot until I got home. It was absolutely delicious and will definitely be ordering from them again, very soon.
Butter chicken was so good! Definately a returning customer :)
Tried the Madras Masala Roti for takeout and I was blown away by how delicious this was. Can t wait to try the other rotis!
Just had my first roti here and it is amazing!!!! This is my new spot for sure!
amazing roti. could not finish the portion.
Tremendous, rich flavour. Loved the roti!
I ordered a chicken roti. It had 3 pieces of chicken in it and the rest was sauce and peas. I feel like I got ripped off. If you had not been so cheap I would have gladly become a regular customer.
I ordered for pick up. We chose Authentic Curry Roti and Madras Masala with rice. Chef will prepare the dish mild, medium or hot - to your liking. Both dishes were delicious with lots of chicken chunks and sauce! Each dish was about 900g so there is loads of food - enough to share!
Food is fantastic, service is impeccable! Catered a Christmas lunch with the saag lamb and butter chicken, and not a drop was left behind! Portion size is generous!
Their rotis are incredibly delicious and are not heavy on the stomach at all! The servings sizes are on the larger side, so come with an appetite. The cooks were also courteous and efficient. Will 100% visit again.
