A great local breakfast cafe that also does tasty lunches and dinner. Now I m a regular whenever I m in town. The owner Mano is a really nice friendly guy with great family staff. A real local venue.

This is an old-school diner with everything made in house. One of the best clubhouses you can get in the city... and yes it is old school also three pieces of toes cut into triangles real bacon real in-house cooked chicken

Staff was friendly, place has that nostalgic diner feel which I love. But the food was lacking in quality. I m a big believer in if you are going to run a restaurant, then make sure the food is better than what you can cook yourself at home. Maybe the food I chose wasn t their main stuff they are famous for. But either way I think if it can t be great, it shouldn t be on the menu.

An old timey diner and attentive staff. They serve your order quickly so you don t have to wait long! I ve been coming here a few times for breakfast and I ve been impressed that the chefs consistently cook over-easy and over-medium eggs correctly. Other breakfast places would overcook over-easy or undercook over-medium eggs. I d recommend coming here if you are particular about your eggs.

This is the perfect dinner. Their service is impeccable and the food is amazing. I have been coming here for a little less than a year and I will never stop. The only thing they can improve is the dinner itself. But this place is definitely a gem.

Best Breakfast in Scarborough!

First time going here and wont be back. Waited way too long for eggs and bacon. The washroom smelled of old urine and mold that we could smell from our table. The waitress wont listen to you if you dont want a certain item with your meal such a toast and will force you to keep it on the table even though you reminded her that you didnt want toast and give you a dirty look for it. The food was also cold upon arrival.

Fabulous breakfast for lunch today. Food was perfect and service was fast and friendly. My first time back after over 30 years due to moving away. Never disappoints.

Little greasy spoon spot on Lawrence just east of McCowan. Ordered the open face hot roast beef sandwich. Not the best, not the worst. Presentation is lacking. Well priced. Adequate servings.

Been here a number of times over the past 3 years, always for breakfast/brunch and it has consistently been a good experience. The portions are generous, the food is tasty and the people are kind. This is our go to spot in Scarborough for diner breakfast.

Greasy spoon restos are getting harder to find, so this is a welcome part of our community. I recently had the chicken bacon club sandwich....best one Ive had in a long time. Burger is big enough that fries arent needed (they just need to NOT put an odd hint of seasoning in it that I cant place the flavour of). Hit and miss on some things, like soggy home fries, but generally good value and quality for a place like this. Find your fav here and stick with it.

Go here with my dad and siblings all the time, our favorite spot to grab lunch. Prices remain reasonable, food remains consistent. Owner is fabulous and his staff are great too. Normally get the soup of the day (always great!) And split a sandwich with my dad. Crazy huge portions for super great price.

Bendale is a great little family run restaurant, good portions and friendly service. These guys know how to cook their eggs! They serve the best eggs benedict I ve had in years - it s off menu though so ask the server if they have it when you go.

This used to be the best spot in Scarborough good cook friendly staff home style soups and just good hearty meal was sold out a few years back and has gone down hill drastically since my wife got under cooked burger I got tinfoil in my food and they changed the hours to close at 3 almost every day in a nutshell so long to the restaurant Ive enjoyed since I was 4 years old no longer even worth a visit

Affordable and delicious. Everyone who works here is always quite friendly.

We visited about 2 months ago. This was my all time favourite diner. However this time portions were very small. It seemed almost like the club sandwich I had was half the size as normally is. I mean I could never finish this whole thing. Always had to take it home with me. This time I still felt hungry after eating it. Price was also quite shocking as it cost $52 for a club and a fish and chips and kids pancakes.

Nice breakfast

I was unsure about the entrance, as it is literally a heavy door with no window of any kind. I then went in and sat down to eat, I had ordered some onion rings and they were very over cooked. The onion rings also somehow had no taste. The service was quick though! But the staff werent wearing masks for a large portion of my visit.

Had the most delicious breakfast! Eggs Benny was Soo Yummy, and the staff are super friendly.

Really friendly staff. They have a bunch of older regulars that treat great which is super sweet. Has a 50s style look. A little worn down but a typical hearty all day breakfast option. Clearly a neighborhood hangout for the long-time residents.

A movie themed classic diner keeping its original charm with over stuufed red counter swivel chairs and 5-6 equity classic booths. Quick service, good basic North American breakfast.

This is the kind of neighborhood dinner we love to discover, when traveling! Friendly and speedy service! Over heard some conversation from the next table, they sounded like some regular customers of the place. The dinner had a movie theme, with old movie star posters hanging all over. The only compliant about the place is that the bathroom was not the cleanest.

This place has one of the best all day breakfasts in Toronto. Their prices are fair and the portions are huge!

Food hasnt been the same since the cook left. Portions used to be huge, the new Tamal owner is very cheap. The restaurant now closes every day at 3:00 pm except Thursday and Friday. Obviously because they are afraid of the drinking crowd, and with three pretty daughters they want to avoid trouble. I am sure most Canadians would agree with me that is a little extreme paranoia but it is their business. The restaurant had regular hours for about fifty years and had no problems with the previous owner. A friend of mine said he will never go back because he had a boiled egg that wasnt cooked enough and the owner I instead of throwing it out reboiled the same egg how cheap can you get.

Old diner experience. Ive been here a handful of times and its never been a let down. If youre looking for a retro old school diner, this is the place. Proper old school burgers. Big breakfasts. Seating booths with big red cushion seats. Try the newfie fries and their milkshake.

So disappointed. We frequently went here as kids, so while looking for a place to get some breakfast, we decided to try out Bendale. We took our food home, had we eaten in the restaurant, the breakfast would have been returned. The scrambled eggs were not even scrambled, more chopped. The bacon had actual raw portions, and the home fries that we had to order because they didnt come with the breakfast were barely cooked. Im so disappointed as Bendale was a Scarborough staple while I was growing up, after they sold it a few years ago, it went wayyyy down hill. I will not be going back again.

Been going here for years. I was afraid of the new management because I thought things wont be the same...but the new owners are very loving and welcoming. Food is delish as always ! milkshakes seem a little water down. but everything else is great!

Overall my experience eating here was not too bad. The food wasnt particularly over the top. I ordered the bendable special and the meat lovers special. Meat Lovers Special Some of the meat cuts (peameal and Virginia ham) I received were fairly cold but it did taste good. The home made fries were a little cold but pretty good nevertheless. The sausages were amazing and then eggs (runny yolk) was really good. I was dissapointed with the toast as the butter was just spreader on top and wasnt even melted. Bendable Special The scrambled egg was pretty good, was lacking some flavour but it seemed more chopped than scrambled imo. The bacon strips were dry and super stiff, but tasty, and the French toast was really good. Overall experience was not too bad. Did have to wait on the server quite a bit. And the water tasted weird . The environment was a little classic, not modern and I suppose it suits the food. The tv was stuck on one channel and wasnt working properly either. The environment was definitely lacking some light. They also charge for water Overall experience was not too bad.

Visited 7:30AM Jan 10th 2018. I was looking for a little greasy spoon restaurant with unlimited coffee and a good breakfast. Not too busy, service was pleasant and timely. The portions are generous and tasty. The decor is 50s diner style and fun. I will definitely be back.

I like the bendale restaurant. Its an older Diner in the neighborhood and it shows it. But the new owners keep it clean and I like that. Tasty all day breakfasts are available here. Everything is reasonably priced. The staff are always cheerful and pleasant. That is important. Bon appetit.

Since the change of ownership its gone done hill. The waitress who was working had to be asked to bring us everything. We got out food but had no utensils, order was wrong. Then argued with me when I asked for a discount for the peameal bacon we didnt get. Will not go again

Best Family Restaurant In Scarborough Ont. The owners will work with you if there is some thing you don.t like,they are happy to change what they can for you. I have been going there for 25 years and feel very comfortable going in there on my own . They always have a smile on there face when you walk in. I HIGHLY recommend this Restaurant.

Friendly staff, great home style breakfast.

Ive lived in in this neighbourhood since 1992, about ten houses away from the plaza and have eaten at this restaurant since I was in the 6th grade. This place is now just a shell of its former glory. Less food at a higher price and lower quality. By far the worst owners/management of the restaurant to date. Its a shame its gone downhill. Note that they now close at 3pm.

Hi..well I have to say its the best family restraunt anywhere here in Scarborough.the service is great.the owners are very nice people..they even treat you like family.and most off all the food is delicious.i would recommend anyone to come and enjoy any meal here.even the clientele is very nice.
