Came in today for the first time and was greeted by the owner who was the nicest person I ever met. You can definitely tell he cares about the quality of food he puts out. The place was clean with a real friendly atmosphere. I got a chicken shwarma wrap and it was a burst of flavor unlike any shwarma I have tasted in the area. Definitely recommend and also fries with the garlic sauce was a nice added twist!!!

Picked up a few shawarmas and it was very good. The chicken was real and not dry and crispy like other places. The salads were fresh and so was the rice. The owner was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. It felt so nice and warm, like back home where people are very friendly and social. The reason I didnt give the food 5 stars is because the quantity was a little less than usual. I would have liked the fries and rice to be more. The meat portion was ok. Would go back for sure.

Me and my gf went for falafel tonight for the first time and it was the best falafel i have tried. Sammy served us with a great attitude and warm welcome. He explained how he made the falafel fresh every day and the taste really expressed the quality. They have good toppings and u can get different breads. We got two wraps for 15 bucks and it also comes with waters. The store is clean and everyone there was very friendly. I will be going there more often to try other meals as well as i am sure they will also be tasty. I recommend this to everyone and i hope u have the same experience we had. 5 star for sure

I was visiting the Scarborough area to catch up with a buddy of mine to try Johnnys hamburgers, which was great. Later in the evening, as I was heading home, I wanted to grab some shawarma and noticed this place in the area. I looked at the reviews and was shocked at an almost perfect review score, so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the owner who was very friendly and hospitable. He shared the story of Shawarmas, how his place was different, and how they take the extra time to clean and cook better than other places. The restaurant was super clean. The owner also gave me free water and coffee, which was a nice treat. As for the shawarma, it was great. The wrap was very fresh and had a good taste and a good amount of meat. I want to come back, and I appreciate the outstanding service!

The best Iraqi restaurant I have ever had

First time visiting. It was a beyond great experience, the owner is very generous, kind and warm. I felt like I m home. He took the time to explain how proper shawarma is made. All other places stuff it with salads and a small bit of meat, but in Mayyas both chicken and beef are full of delicious juicy meat! Prices are very reasonable for all menu choices. Home made hummus tastes delicious! Lahmajin and cheese manakish are to die for. We also tried Burek and very yummy (the cheese one specially). We also tried Kebbeh which is a hard to make dish, but here it is really tasty and authentic. I should mention that before even eating, the hospitality won us over. They value customers and that is very rare in a big city like Toronto. We will surely be regulars here. Thank you for the amazing food and service.

Unusual to get such high quality food and excellent service in a strip mall. Food is top shelf. Tabouleh and Fattoush are made to order, delivering absolute freshness of flavour and textures. Chicken Shawarma is a standout! Spiced beautifully but most impressive is high quality of meat. Sevice is 5 stars++! Sarmen treats each customer as if we were a guest in his home. His joy in having you visit makes for memorable and very personal experience every single time! Make this a neighborhood must and also well worth the Trio from further afield.

Great find on a Sunday afternoon! I had an appointment nearby and was going to do grocery. I entered the wrong parking entrance and saw Mayyas Express. The owner was very friendly, inviting, and provided me some knowledge about authentic Lebanese shawarma. Mashallah! Mixed shawarma was flavourful and very big portion. I had it for lunch and dinner. Will be back soon and will recommend to friends and family.

Food was excellent and staff were very welcoming and had an enthusiastic atmosphere. My kids who never had Lebanese food before were quite thrilled. The owner being present showed my kids around the kitchen area, gave us a rundown of how things worked, as well, he gave us some samples as it was our first time and made my kids experience excellent. Made my oldest run back in for some fries. Overall great place for family outings.

My husband and I love coming here. The food is always fantastic and the place is clean. I love everything Ive tried so far but the falafel in particular is my favourite as its super flavourful, soft and fluffy. We recently had them cater our sons birthday party and the food was a big hit with all our guests. The only thing better than the food here (and what keeps us going back every time) is the exceptional hospitality. The owner Sarmen is so welcoming and always treats us like family. You can tell hes so passionate about his food and business. It makes me happy to be able to support such a wonderful small business!

I came here today with a big order right at opening, and Sarmen made sure to deliver exactly what I wanted. He and his team really went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our order. I am blown away by the incredible hospitality which is the best I ve ever encountered. That alone makes me and my family extremely keen on coming back every single time all the way from Pickering. Now for the shawarmas, every single time I ve had them, they re incredible. Extremely flavourful, juicy, rich authentic Lebanese style. I ve tried many places but this is my absolute favourite which is why we keep coming back to it even with the drive. They re doing everything right.

Stumble upon this place randomly for dinner one night and this place is an absolute gem. I was warmly welcomed by the owner and he takes service to the next level. Haven t had a satisfying shawarma like this for a while now. The beef shawarma was smokey and creamy. They spread a thick layer of garlic sauce and hummus which enhances the taste. The complimentary coffee gives the service a whole 10/10 for me. Forsure would keep on visiting this place when i crave a shawarma.

The owner introduced himself to me and gave me a warm welcome to his restaurant. Asked me if it was my first time which it was and treated me to a very refreshing imported Lebanese orange pop. Great restaurant. Fantastic owner annd staff and great food. Just decided to pop in while waiting for my wife and the owner treated me like I was family. I had ordered a sandwich while waiting and was given a complimentary drink and cookie and another dessert while I waited. I ended up being there for over an hour. I used to work on Lawrence which is a hub for middle eastern food and searched for the best shawarma. Although there were some good spots, Maaya s Express takes the cake. They consistently have the freshest ingredients, the flavour is more prominent and flavours come together much better. This is shawarma fine dining at a very reasonable price, highly recommend! This is my new go-to spot!

Awesome food, great staff, the owner was there and an absolute gem. Felt like a member of the family by the time I walked out. Walked me through the kitchen to see it and it was spotless. This was my first time eating at Mayyas and will now be a regular.

Come here to remember what great customer service used to be like. Superb staff offering incredible hospitality and accommodation. We were greeted at the door by the owner and given complimentary waters before being walked through the menu. It was clear that the main goal was to offer guests an authentic Lebanese experience (through both food and hospitality). We had the mixed shawarma plate with red rice, yellow rice, and tabbouleh, finishing our meals off with a coconut cookie. Everything was fresh and flavourful with the perfect cook on the meat (right down to the crispy bits). We will definitely be back (just wish we lived closer so we could make this a weekly stop). 100% recommended!

On June 6, 2024, my colleague and I visited Mayyas Express for lunch. Despite our detailed explanation about my severe sesame seed allergy and the risk of cross-contamination in Lebanese food, the food preparer neglected our concerns. She didn t change her gloves or clean surfaces properly. After lunch, I experienced severe allergic symptoms and had to visit the hospital. When I informed the owner the next day, he was impolite and denied any sesame use. Although the food quality is not the issue, I don t recommend this store due to the owner s rude attitude. I considered making a case and complaint to Canada Health, but I refrained due to concern for the employees working there.

I LOVED it. This is the most underrated Shawarma place in Scarborough. The food quality is good at reasonable prices.

They use authentic, in-house made ingredients in their Wrap. Loved their chicken quantity and flavour and the garlic paste that goes in a wrap has a good punch. I tried Shawarma Empire, Sumaq, Shawarma Daddy, Shelbys but this guy really compete with them. You will get a great hospitality with a complimentary water bottle and a coffee. Clean and welcoming.. I ve tried many shawarma spots through out the city and this new spot is hands down near the top for quick, quality, delicious food and excellent service. The new owner and family operated spot are very welcoming and great people. The food quality overall to me is 10/10 especially the Lebanese style shawarmas. Sarman, the owner, greeted us as we walked in the door and treated us like family. He shared with us the history of the restaurant, history of his family, and explained all the delicious food they serve. I thoroughly enjoyed the falafel sandwich, made just like my grandfather made falafel, and the tasty tabouleh side. We had a little issue with the credit card machine, and the owner trusted us to pay him back next time. Cant wait to go back!

The best food in Toronto , anyone should try it

Ordered 4 chicken shawarmas for $8.99 each and paid at the front. Then the lady preparing the shawarmas said we need to pay $1.50 each more which I did. This is not fair to the customer. Why is the lady preparing the shawarmas then changing the price after the customer has paid for the order based on the displayed menu board.

First off, you can really tell this place is a labor of love from the owner. He and his staff were more than hospitable and accommodating. I had picked up a chicken plate and a student special meal for my son. For a child who is very picky about food, he said it was the best Shawarma wrap hed had. Everything was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. Highly recommend trying it out. Its a definite repeat for me. Sorry no photos, looked and smelled too good to remember to take photos.

Very rarely do I take a risk and try something new, VERY glad I did. Ive been to every shawarma joint worth visiting in Scarborough and these guys are legit. As authentic as it gets. Everything from the pita, to the chicken to the veggies was FRESH. They dont load it with garlic and tahini amd hummus to mask the taste like most of these Indian ran joints (I can say that, Im Indian). Service is great, they handed me a bottle of water when I walked in. You can tell they take prode in what they make, its not about the money for these guys, theyre passionate. Sit down restaurant quality food, at a fast food price. You wont be dissapointed.

I was searching for a new shawarma place and found this gem. The owner met me at door with a free coffee and a smile. The establishment is spotles, the cooks are friendly and take time to explain any questions you may have. Now for the food review: Absolutely authentic and delicious to the core. His portion is worth every penny and more. The meat is fresh and the spices are perfect. I ordered a mix shawarma plate, it was perfect. Gave me beautiful memories of Lebanon. I highly recommend Mayyas, you will never be disappointed.

I had a great experience at Mayyas Express- the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner. Which he then proceeded to offer me a free coffee and a bottle of water. Safe to say, I have never been welcomed with such warm hospitality and gratitude for patronizing a business. The owner is a master in customer service. The place is clean, well organized and oh ya, the shawarma was fantastic. Ill be going back this week Im sure!

I had one of the best kebab in town. It s my 3rd time there and it s been worth every visit. The place is so neat & clean it feels so pleasant to eat the food. The food is delicious and worth every penny. The customer service was at its best.

I was really impressed overall on my visit here. Owner and staff are very friendly and outgoing. I was greeted by the owner as I entered with complimentary water and coffee. He explained and showed me their philosophy of prioritizing freshness and cleanliness. The place was honestly extremely clean from the front to the kitchen and the back. I had the mixed shawarma plate and it was very fresh, authentic and delicious. Portion size was good as well. They make everything here the right way, always fresh, clean and made in-house. You can really tell when youre eating the food. Ill definitely be returning here and trying more of their dishes.

Their lebanese style shawarma wrap is hands down the best shawarma in all of the GTA. All of their food is amazing really. And the owner and staff are so so kind, they treat you like family every time. Definitely one of my favourite food spots

Really great experience. Never had this type of food before and the man behind the counter had some of the best customer service. He let me try the rice before I bought so I made an informed decision for the misses. Dude also offered me a free water if I needed it. Great food affordable price and excellent service

Food was deliciously fresh and staff were very kind and welcoming! I had the chicken plate and my husband had the beef shawarma. We were given several samples to choose from before we made our final choices! Their garlic sauce is also amazing!! The place was very clean and well kept! We will definitely be going again!

After a long business meeting we stopped in for a lunch before leaving town and the owner of Mayyas welcomed us with open arms. He graciously gave us a sample of his favorites and the food was absolutely amazing. The tabouleh, the fattoush, the shawarma all were made to a level that was top notch. The hot sauce also was a favorite of mine.

Fabulous shawarma I ever had

Ok, so this establishment was recommended to myself and my daughter back in June 2023, however it is not in my catchment area but I promised that if ever in the area I would be sure to drop in. So ..today was the day I dropped in with my husband! The customer service upon entering the restaurant was quite natural and welcoming, we were greeted by the owner Saramen, he did not disclose himself as the owner on contact until I apprised him that my contact Arthur sent me. I am particular of where I eat and what I eat, it boils down to the cleanliness of the washroom .yes the washroom! If the washroom is dirty the rest of the restaurant must be in alignment with the dirty washroom ..it was the opposite here at Mayya s! Cleanliness is clearly next to Godliness here at Mayya s! I highly recommend ! Ok the food impeccably presented and quite flavourful the kind of flavour that lingers in your mouth even after each swallow! We arrived with the intention of purchasing 1 falafel and 1 shawarma .we didn t stop there .we purchased 2 shawarma, 2 falafel, Armenian salad. We tried the bulgar rice and white rice with Armenian salad OMG!!!! Get your Mayya s on .you will NOT regret! Santiago Fam! Parking: No haggling for spots!

The owner kindly greeted us when we came in. Got the chicken shawarma platter to go. The food was authentic lebanese style; so flavorful. There is a deep, rich flavour especially when combined with the hummus and garlic sauce. Go in and try for yourself. You will discover the reviews are actually legit; no cap.

Weve visited Mayyas restaurant multiple times and the food is consistently delicious! So far we had the chicken shawarma wrap and the chicken shawarma plate. I m so glad the owners chose our neighbourhood welcome!
