1847 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1R 1K8, Canada
Nigeria palace restaurant. A place of African foods . Good home cooked food and tasty 😋 full africa experience
We came all the way from Chicago to visit and we were soooo excited to find this lil spot of Naija food! God bless our brother. The food was spectacular and the beef is truly melt in your mouth tender. The catfish pepper soup was an amazing one!
I recently dined at this Nigerian restaurant and tried their Jollof rice. The flavors were outstanding—rich, authentic, and perfectly seasoned. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience enjoyable. Though the portion size was a bit smaller than I anticipated, the food was so delicious that I found myself wanting more. I will definitely be returning to enjoy their wonderful food and hospitality again.
Best Nigerian restaurant in Scarborough. Amazing service and generous meat and stew portions. Will come back again! I did dine in and ordered a plate for takeout. The food is made fresh! I was so happy with the service, the kitchen, the appearance and MOST important, the cleanliness of the tables and the dining space. Thank you!
The atmosphere and smells from the kitchen, welcome and music in their surround system immensely reminded me of somewhere I would have entered in Surulere, or a GRA area of Lagos Nigeria. The food is reminiscent of any posh traditional Yoruba joint you would find within the heart of Lagos, Nigeria. The food did not disappoint. My daughters wanted non spicy options and I wanted extremely spicy, they were able to make each order to the patrons specific spice specifics. I appreciated the home welcome and service. Food portions were above average and quality matches what I hoped for. I recommend this establishment to anyone wanting to taste Yoruba Lagos. Location is great for anyone close to Lawrence and vicpark area for their dining experience. Well done.👍🏿
Customerservice is top nouch. Staff go all out and beyond. Patient with inconvenience. Thank you Elizabeth and her boss for your accommodations on the order. The Afang is rich and poundo was good. Portion was very commendable. I eat lots of soup with swallow so hopefully you'll be more generous with soup and protein on my next order. Overall, my first experience with you is MUUAAHHHH!!! expect more orders from me. Guys order here!
I recently tried Amala at this local Nigerian restaurant, and it was incredible! The texture was smooth and perfect, and it paired so well with the ewedu soup and gbegiri. The flavors were rich and authentic, making it a truly satisfying meal. If you haven't tried Amala yet, you're missing out on a fantastic culinary experience!
Love it! The food was fresh, full of flavor. It tasted authentic and homemade. The Vegetarian options are limited and sides are not available to order. The menu set up is combo style. My favorite was the fish with jollof rice!
First time having Nigerian food and it didn’t disappoint. Our server was nice enough to recommend dishes and we loved every single one! Definitely recommend giving them a chance if you’re in the area ❤️
I expected more tasty food than what I eat there.
Just had a pounded yam & efo riro lunch which was out of this world at this restaurant, and apart from the food being delicious, the manager s customer service was topnotch. I m coming back definitely with my friends. Please patronize Nigeria Palace Restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Delicious food and wonderful service. Music from Chief (Commander) Ebenezer Obey playin while we featin. Creates the perfect atmosphere for friends n family! Requested take-aways when we were done! Food : 5/5 |
They offer an exceptional experience, combining a cozy atmosphere with attentive service and outstanding food, each dish showcases fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the presentation add a special touch. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a remarkable meal!
It felt really good having my meal desire created without the regular naija restaurant pushback of we only serve whats on the menu The Amala went to Harvard and the accompanying Tilapia soup came from Yale. Overall, it landed in Ibadan, I sure will dream about the taste for so long. Ill recommend this restaurant anytime
Nigerian Palace Restaurant offers an authentic taste of Nigerian cuisine with a wide variety of delicious dishes. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff provides excellent service. Its the perfect place to enjoy flavorful meals and experience true Nigerian hospitality. Highly recommended!
I gave this place a bad reveiew because iv been to several nigerian resturants across the city and portions are usually fair. These people only gave the both of us two small pieces of meat and huge amount of rice for $30. I figured it is because they knew we were not nigerian. Then had the nerve to ask us at the end of service to write a review. Save your money and go to a spot that will give you food unless your Nigerian maybe they will treat you better.
Nice meal and taste superb, feeling like I am in Nigeria inside Canada, Kudos
Really slow service. Really attitude servers.
Food portions were generous, and the service was friendly and fast. Took away 1 star because of the environment. Will be back again though, and I recommend
My mom and I went to this restaurant last wk and it was really good. I had the okra stew and she has the egusi. Everything was was really tasty. We will definitely be back soon. I want to try more .
First time try Nigerian food and people work there is friendly, he recommended us a yummy soup and fufu. Will go back again.
We enjoyed our meals. It was worth our time and drive. Parking was easy. Staff were excellent We will be back. Highly recommended. Food : 5/5 |
Love this place so much! Good food, good qualify, good service! Very traditional Nigerian food 10/10!! Food : 5/5
Very delicious food and great customer service. Very friendly and helpful
Really good food. Their eforiro is on a class of its own. Respectful and courteous attendants. Worth the money
Their food was top notch and I really felt at home. Ever since I got to Canada, getting to taste Nigerian dishes has been really difficult because of the abundance of foreign dishes but I was really glad to have found this place. Their staff is really kind and dont fail to deliver the best customer service. I highly recommend this establishment.
This was the first time I had visited a Nigerian restaurant in Canada and man, was I satisfied. The customer service, atmosphere, and the food especially, OMG. I was speechless. The positivity around me was so overwhelming. Big thumbs up from me to the crew at Nigeria Palace Restaurant! Ill definitely be coming again.

Our server was so amazing, I thought he was the owner. He was attentive, communicative, and greeted us when we came in. The food is SO good. You can tell it s made fresh with quality ingredients. Best Nigerian restaurant in the city. Thank you! I can t wait to come back!
I m stuffed! This was my first time trying Nigerian food and it was delicious and the restaurant staff including the owner were all very accommodating. I will definitely come back when I m in Canada again in the future. I truly recommend this restaurant to everyone!
The food is freshly made, it s delicious and the staff are professional. Impressed Food
This is the best African food I have eaten in ages. Excellent service and staffing.
Bullshit service
Great flavors, could have used extra spice, but very tasty.
Goodluck the chef was amazing! Very personable and professional. Meals were delicious and served within 20 minutes of our arrival. Gladys was cheerful, polite and efficient. Will definitely go back there again before leaving Canada. Overall customer service was excellent!
The staff was great and the food tasted good

Great taste .. Im coming back again
Amazing meal and customer service
The jollof and amala were exceptional definitely a 10/10! I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The staff were also friendly and courteous, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The food was delicious! Dupe was very sweet and patient with our questions. I will certainly be returning for more of the egusi and pounded yam.
I had been craving Afang, found this restaurant on uber eats. And i should say my CRAVING was satisfied beautiful. would recommend.
Very delicious !
The meatpie I bought from them for over 7$ for a piece was really terrible . The restaurant sucks .
Parking: Just in front of the restaurant Kid-friendliness: They are conscious of kids needs, gives plates when sharing is required, accommodation is given for every childs need. Recommended dishes EBA with Egusi or Ogbono 3 Assorted Meat Beef Cow-Foot Tripe Parking space
Its very good and have very good food
Very good place to eat all varieties of Nigerian meal with little cash
I really enjoy the Amala and ewedu today, i can assure you this is the best place to get all spicy Nigerian foods with little cost Kudos to the Mgt.
It s an amazing restaurant. It food bangs and also the customer service is really amazing
VERY VERY EXPENSIVE!! Went in for a snack. Made this clear. A taste per se Got a 26$ bill. I asked. Did I order a lot of food?? 3x. 3 tiny pieces of chicken. Skin on. In sauce and rice. Tasty. Yes. Friendly service yes. But come on Quantitatively It should be max 9.99 not 26 dollars. Sooo tiny. RESPONSE TO OWNER. I am 62 and worked in the international restaurant business for years and travel extensively. I WILL NOT MODIFY MY 1 STAR RATING. QUANTITATIVELY it was no bigger than a small cheese burger and the cheapest cuts of chicken. The favours were not African as such and i have African friends from multiple African countries and eat internationally quite often. So no!. Do better is the lesson here. I also asked for a snack repeatedly and got a $26 snack ??? Thats quite an expensive snack since i repeatedly asked for a taste, ie snack, and it was very very small.
Ordered a bunch of food. Some were salty and the others bland. The Efo Riro soup that I was craving the most and that I ordered with poundo was a bland mix of veggies that would have been mildly more tolerable if eaten with rice. It had no flavour. No iru. I would be SHOCKED if a Nigerian made this! I like trying new restaurants from time to time to discover new gems but this was a huge flop. Sigh. I was too hungry to wait for my favourite 9ja restaurants to open so I decided to try this one. Chai! On the plus side, they werent stingy with the meat and ALL of the assorted meats were cooked well and not hard. For this reason, Im giving them a 2 star instead of 1.
Bought a jolof rice with chicken. Advertised as 2 pieces of chicken. My bowl was half filled and I got a half of a piece of chicken. Robbed. This is part of the reason I seem to pass african and caribbean owed restaurants and only eat casual take out. Too expensive and too little food. Black people we need to so better.
Very good
My husband got a take away at the Streets of Lawrence Festival on July 6, 2024. He was excited to try Nigerian food for the first time (he is of Caribbean/British descent) and was sold on the meal by a gentleman who was very friendly and persuasive. Opened the container that cost $20 when we got in the car to see that 1/4 of the container was filled with what looked like a piece of undercooked chicken and wet rice/couscous looking dish. Fufu was like glue. Very disappointed. Threw the whole dish out as it was completely unappetizing/unappealing. Wasn t a full meal and definitely not worth $10, let alone $20. Looked like some sloppy leftovers. Wish we had looked at it before we left the event as we would have given it back and got something else.
Excellent. I will come again. Exceptional service.
Wonderful food. Present service. I will visit again soon.
I highly recommend this spot, it has the best african food I have eaten so far. Money well spent
Very rude and unprofessional staff
Taste of Nigeria food I had Afang soup with Pounded yam and Amala with ewedu Awesome Food : 5/5 |
worst behavior and putting false comment on me. so rude. this kind of behaviour is really not acceptable in Canada. They dont know any curtesy and even don t know how to talk with people.
Experience the absolute best food, unparalleled service, and a welcoming environment.
I enjoy their jollof rice and very cool environment
I keep to the Nigeria Palace Restaurant for all my African foods and always worth it for me, with their Afang Soup and Pounded Yam with Assorted and Most importantly I dont joke with their Jollof Rice
The food is delicious!!! Their service is good.
Good taste food
Authentic African fare. Friendly service.
First time to be in a Nigerian restaurant and loved everything.
They are on time and their meal is always on point
Your meal is sumptuous and timeous. I love it.
Food was amazing and good reception
Nice place to eat African/ Nigerian delicious food
The food was delicious. The server and manager (owner) were very friendly and kept asking if we were okay. The food took some time but we understood it wasnt something ready-to-eat. Even more better, right During our time there, multiple couriers came in to pick up orders, which shows that the restaurant is well known and appreciated. Too bad there was no suya meat available the day we went. Will definitely recommend.
I ordered the Egusi with pounded yam. Food was fresh and delicious! The owner was very polite and friendly.
We had amala and ewedu and it was great. The amala was fluffy (o fele ) and the stew tasted homely.
The most amazing people! The yummiest food! You must come to this hidden gem in Scarborough.
First time eating Nigerian and the staff and owners were so sweet to teach us and were so patient. We could not recommend it more. FANTASTIC!!! Food
Very good food and amazing staff!
The food is very nice, a try will make you want more
COOL AND GOOD HOSPITALITY
I had pounded yam and ogbonno!!! Definitely the best I have eaten here in Toronto.
I had pounded yam and ogbono soup and I really enjoyed it I will definitely come back for more
I had the Amala and Ewedu with assorted and it was so so good. The food here is amazing and I don t know how it s not more well known.
Dont judge a book by its cover. This is the most authentic Nigerian food Ive had in the GTA area. They have abula (amala, gbegiri & ewedu), off menu. Definitely give this place a try for a taste of home.
Poundyam,amala,rice
Nah tried the food today and it was quite tasteless. Eat somewhere else.
I enjoyed the Amala with the assorted meat, it was lovely and tasty........ I love it Food
Enjoyed the Egusi with Pounded yam .. I Recommend
Great food and the lady on the phone was very polite. It s not my first time and it ll always be first option. Keep up the good work
The food is amazing and the customer service is great. Definitely recommend this spot for authentic nigerian food.
Amazing food , customercentricity 100. Portions were good. Check it out.
Great restaurant to go be, lovely atmosphere to enjoy Nigeria foods, topnotch customer service
Clean environment and prompt response. Also food tastes good.
Loved the place as the owner was very welcoming and energetic when we first got in. We ordered the fufu and beef soup which surprised from all of our expectations, that it was very well made and tasted very delicious. Nothing much more to say but great place overall to try Nigerian cuisine.
Parking: good Food
I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the jollof rice was delicious, the service was very kind and excellent.
Great spicy jollof and chicken to compliment your meal.
great food
The services here was top notch and outstanding. Very wonderful experience with Mrs Elizabeth. Quality customer services.
They have lots of other intense Nigerian soups. It s amazing.
I heard a good experience with Dupe. From the service, to the taste of the meal. Very laudable!
Very delicious today, thank to Goodluck
I had a great time!
I enjoyed the food, best place to come too
It was our first time trying Nigerian cusine and the owners made sure we get it right, they guided us with the order and it was an awesome experience. The food was very flavourful and portion size was satisfying. We tried fufu with Egusi and beef, Jolof rice with chicken which came with a side of fried plantain and mini puff puffs for a sweet wrap. Overall a must visit for experiencing Nigerian food
Above all,Satisfied
just had the Efo and fish with pounded yam so so so goood!! did not disappoint
It is indeed a palace to dine, I really enjoyed the meal served/customer care. I would recommend the restaurant for everyone, and you wont be disappointed.
I bought Afang soup and it was delicious
It s was amazing food
Came in workers are really nice and the food is great would recommend
Perfect place to have a great food
Amazing customer service, delicious well presented and portioned food. Will definitely visit again
OMG! Found this restaurant surprising, best Nigerian food ever! And I ve been to many Nigerian places around the city. I ordered okra soup and egusi soup - 10/10! The quality, price and portions all make sense. The flavours are literally finger licking good. Puff Puffs are hot and delicious. My new go to spot. This is it. The owners are sooo kind as well. Do not hesitate to buy from here.
Good service from Goodluck and Lade
The food is so good and nourishing, their staff are so friendly. I recommend the Nigeria Palace Restaurant.
Delicious African tastes
I love the freshness of the pounded yam, it was so smooth and it wnt well with the Egusi soup...Nice to be
This place has really good food and good luck is very respectful and accommodating
This is the best place to be GTA, great food with great taste the asaro is the bomb
Delicious and yummy in my belly
Exquisite meals, excellent customer service, homely environment. My first choice of restaurant any day.
The meat portion is very small, food taste is average. Next door Sahan restaurant provides more tasty and big meat portions food. Wrong choice this time .
Portion of ofada stew is too small for the rice
Great man!! Great Nigerian food !
If you want the original taste of Nigeria local dishes, then Nigeria Palace Restaurant is your go to. Their vegetable(afang soup) is so rich and tastes fresh close to what you will eat in Nigeria
One if the best authentic Nigerian food!
Love the flavours and owner always makes sure you are good. I find that the price is ridiculous for the food portion. I have been to another Nigerian store where they give all more meat for cheaper price. I think the price needs to go down or food portion needs to increase
First time trying out Nigerian food & it definitely hit the spot! Amazing customer service as well, definitely will go back with friends.
Food is fingers licking good
I got Egusi soup with fufu this evening and wow it was so delicious. I will definitely visit your restaurant. Keep it up!
Food is absolutely delish. It s finger licking good. Truly worth the money
Great food! Amazing service, very accommodating:)
One of the best Nigeria restaurants out here. Very respectful people. Must patronize. Ayamase stew, plantain and barbecue fish highly recommended
The ofada stew was so nice , even the okra soup and ogbono soup. The owners are so nice make sure you eat here
Just ordered Egusi soup from Uber eats. Compared to another restaurant I ve tried from, it wasn t as good. Didn t enjoy it at all, except for the beef that came with it. Might try something different next time but will never order Egusi soup from here again
Good food, not too spicy, fresh. Owner and Cook is a really pleasant host who took the time to patiently explain each dish we pointed off on the menu. Dietary restrictions: Able to listen carefully to guest specific request. Did not impose own dietary preferences Parking: Easy to find and lots of parking in front of the restaurant. This is the restaurant s new location so signage may not be immediately visible. Kid-friendliness: Rather small space but that was made up by the owners interest in the youngest guest in our party of 3. Much to our amusement and appreciation.
Food was amazing. I ordered the Egusi with assorted meat and fufu. It was delicious and he also gave me extra portion. While waiting he gave me a sample of the jollof and I cant wait to come back and order it with meat. I will definitely be coming back.
Great experience. Chef treats people and food with respect and kindness.
Newly opened Nigerian restaurant. Owner and staff super friendly. Tonight is ladies night out and we decided to try Nigerian foods. We ordered a lot of foods. Tried fufu with Egusi, Eba with Efo riro, meat pie, jolof rice with beef and chicken, mini puff (similar to jamaican festival), fish pepper soup, chicken gizzard with pepper, fish stew with plantain and Palmie (palm wine). We loved it and finished most of the food. We didnt love the Egusi (maybe its acquired taste as we are Asians). They have a lot of take out orders (uber, skip). Delivery drivers comes and go. Things they can improved. More decor, make it more Nigerian feel. Presentation of food. Add some garnishes on top (e.g. onion, parsley/coriander/cilatro, green onion, some tomatoe slices to name a few). Also need a better lighting. The place has potential. Signage. It has Bahar Biryani signage and a small signage of their place. We have to call the owner where to go. Other that that we will come back. We enjoyed our experience and we have fun trying out their food. Goodluck to your bussiness. Parking: Lots of parking.
Quality food and good staff.
Amazing food very good customer service
owner was very nice! food was great
Love this place - I kid you not , great food , excellent customer service and awesome communication. I order different things from the menu here and there, and I ve not been disappointed at all . Salute.
I ordered Egusi and Ayamase. The soups were amazing and delicious, with appropriate portion and serving. I ll order over and over again. Great food, great environment
Jollof Rice is soooo delicious. My first time eating Nigerian food and I called and was recommended this dish and it was the best advise. I also had Pounded Yam with Egusi with fish and that was delicious too. Highly recommmended to try this place and this cuisine. Will return for Jollof Rice and will have to try other dishes.
Excellent dining experience!
A true Africa restaurant. Service is fast and food is delicious.
The jollof rice was on point. The meatpie isnt as great and I will suggest air fryer is used to heat the meatpie instead of microwave. There were a lot of takeout orders which kinda affected the wait time for us. Please pre-order your menu before visiting so you have a cut in the wait time. The lady and the manager were great in service inspite of the overwhelming order. The manager decided to give us puff puff at no extra cost because my order which was initially thought was available; wasnt. He insisted on giving us the puff puff after saying no to the extra jollof rice he wanted to give us. Great place, great service and great food.
I tried the egusi and vegetable soup but it tasted terribly, it s tasted like it wasn t well sauced. I would not be ordering it again. I also tried the porridge and it tasted like too much sugar was added to it and too much oil. While eating the porridge I could only taste the oil. The fish was also too salty.
Best place for your African dish
The food was good and the service was very good and pleasant
The food was pretty good, although the chicken and beef was very dry and hard to chew, the egusi, beef stew and jollof rice was very tasty. The owner was also very friendly and welcoming. My only issue was the price. We ordered 3 takeout items which were the egusi with fufu, beef stew with fufu and jollof with chicken along with a couple drinks. The total cost was $90.... I dont understand how they came up with the pricing but its definitely not worth that much. You can have a feast at any Indian, Chinese, Haka or other Asian, Carribean or African restaurant with that amount money. Definitely worth trying out but Id rather spend my money elsewhere.
Amazing, amazing. amazing! This is some of the best Nigerian food I ve had, and I ve been here a while. As you can see, I already started off with the meals but still had to take snapshots. The Afang soup was delicious and the puff puff was so light and airy. Overall, the service was superb and the owner creates a very welcoming environment to anyone who walks in. Great quantity and quality to match. I highly recommend!
Great food! Owner was very nice! Def want to try their other selections!
The food was great. The fried rice can have more vegetables in it but it was really good. I m coming for the jollof next. The Moimoi was tasty and the puff puff??????? I ll be back for it sooner than later!! Just found this restaurant close to work and I am definitely eating more here. Great service too!!
I had an amazing time at Nigeria Palace this evening. I ordered the pepper catfish soup and plantain and I was not disappointed. The palm wine was fresh and tasty. Amazing flavours and portions! The owner, Pastor Abi provides exceptional service and makes you feel extremely welcome! I will be a regular customer!
MOB love the food
A place to experience the exceptional taste of authentic Nigerian cuisine. The hospitality was great and the atmosphere was very welcoming !
Did an ubereats order here. Portions are small for the price, but the taste is where its at Jollof with beef: 4.5/5 i love how tender the cow foot was, as well as the tripe. The rice was smoky and every grain was just packed with flavor. Actually blew my mind. Egusi with yam: 3/5 not a big fan of the yam, but the egusi was so delicious. Very small portion for the price. Oddly enough, the meat that came with this one was not as tender as the one with the jollof. looking forward to trying their other dishes and getting some jollof again.
I can imagine bringing a friend to try out my country food out of excitement and I can imagine also we both would be VERY disappointed, I ve tried Nigerian restaurants everywhere and I must say this is the worst!!! MAYBE THIS IS UGANDIAN FOOD BUT DEFINITELY NOT AUTHENTIC NIGERIAN FOOD!
Everything tastes Nigerian
There soups are a must try
I had the dish in the picture below. That dish transported me back to Africa and back. I really enjoyed it and the owner is super friendly. Definitely recommend it.
quality meal and worth the money.
Amazing food, great service and very friendly staff and owners.
took my aunt to try Nigerian food for the first time- the food was very good, definitely an acquired taste for some of the foods but the owner was very lovely and made the experience lovely as well, he even gave us free puff puffs after which were very delicious!
Very lovely place to get Nigeria food . their jelof rice is top-notch
Great service and tasty food!
Bad
Not at all good
Waste of money
Bad
Lovely food
Im blessed to have a taste of a good food......
delicious
First time trying Nigerian food. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They gave me their recommendations and gave tips on how to eat the dish. I got the chicken egusi soup with pounded yam. The dish was very flavourful with a bit of heat. Their protein options were beef, chicken and fish
I wasn t impressed with my order when it was delivered to me. The meal looked like a leftover food. Quantity very small n badly presented. Honesty I wasn t happy over what I got, after spending so much.
Thanks for the food
The restaurant is honestly a 3/5 or less. Food is not so tasty and the presentation is not say great
Good experience
African sumptuous meal, very fresh & tasty, my company & I enjoyed every bite of the hot food, am now a regular guest ...#foodieman
The food is fresh and delicious.
The food is so delicious that I came in for another potion. This is a new taste of Nigeria in Canada. Parking: Lots of parking space.
I had amala and efo-riro (assorted). Sooo delicious and fresh. Definitely coming back here and ordering out . Great service too. The portion made me full and I came in hungry. Thanks for making my day!!!
