Chinese cuisine
Came here for the $388 king crab meal which is a great price for king crab! The meal comes with a 6lb king crab cooked 3 ways, a crab seafoam soup, Snow pea leaves with king mushrooms, and sweet and sour pork. The food was all tasty but I found that some dishes could have been hotter. The non-crab dishes were a bit smaller than expected, but again, still good for the price. Highly recommend making reservations as they get very busy. The staff are super fast and efficient. They know exactly what they're doing but they may not come off as the most friendly.
Food was very tasty! I recommend the Fried Preserved Meat sticky rice and a deep fried salted egg and pumpkin/squash dish. Dined-in, group of 8 people, and we ordered a total of 11 dishes to celebrate a birthday so we came in willing to spend more.
Very busy on Saturday night. Lots of people waiting by the door. Thank god we had reservations for my party of 9. Food was pretty good and came really fast agter we ordered. Service could be more attentive but i understand they were busy. Overall, good casual chinese spot
I went here for mid afternoon tea and it was a very good experience. The service was really fast but they were also pretty nice. The food was delicious, we ordered two noodles and two sides. The Cantonese chow mein was crispy and the sauce was good. The squid was a little chewier than the fried squid we ordered but still okay. The egg and shrimp noodles we ordered was so good and saucy. We loved it. The fried tofu was mildly bland to me and I think a thicker sauce would help rather than the soya sauce. The drinks were made well but took the longest to come out but the restaurant was fairly busy. It got pretty busy at around 4pm when a lot of seniors came for early dinner. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely come back to try the dinner menu.
Awesome place to enjoy a great filling meal! Prices are affordable and I love the delicious tastes of each meal. Staff are very enthusiastic of their job and go above and beyond to treat customers! Great eating spot, highly recommended to others.
I have been to this restaurant countless times, I can never get enough of the delicious dishes and great services. The dining enviornment is a great experience and I highly recommend you come to this place with your friends or family. This is one of my top restaurants that I would eat at. The dishes are always made with their full effort and the staff are so caring and friendly. The place is so clean and will make you feel at peace.
We came here as a party of 26 to celebrate my Grandma’s and my Aunt’s Birthday and we had the MOST AMAZING experience. The girls that work there were so fast, respectful, and attending. I’ll say my family can be quite loud and crazy and they were very understanding. They kept everyone fed, everyone accommodated and was gifting us freebies to keep the party going. The food was really good too! We did some lobsters, duck, & king crabs. All was season well and everyone was full!! Special shout out to Naomi leading the team. We had an amazing time and the food was so delicious.
Huge portion and the food is delicious. Free deep fried tulip cake comes with any purchase over $40. Afternoon tea special dishes also come with a cold drink.
Their service is very good and the atmosphere is great! The child was very considerate and provided special services for his birthday, including a happy birthday and glasses! I like the considerate service very much! Reasonable price and good service! Like
Delicious food
Went to Shangpin Seafood Stir-fried Food Afternoon Tea and tried several dishes. Overall they were delicious. Here are my thoughts: The cold pink red bean iced milk tea is a real cup! The red beans are soft and not overcooked, and the jelly is slippery. Fried rice with salted fish and chicken nuggets. The fried rice is full of steam, the rice nuggets are distinct, the salted fish is fragrant but not too salty, and the chicken nuggets are so tender. However, if you eat a lot, the taste will be a bit heavy, which can be balanced out with some soup. Crispy fried squid The fried squid is crispy and springy, and the skin is not greasy, making it perfect as an afternoon tea snack. The fish head stewed with ginger and scallion has a large portion, the meat is smooth and tender, and the ginger and scallion flavor is super fragrant and delicious! One pot with rice is definitely enough. The dry-fried beef river is stir-fried until it is both dry and full of flavor. It is worth a try. Overall, this restaurant is cost-effective and the food is of a high standard. I will definitely come here again next time!
Quick and friendly service, good food, cute interior would come again. Almost forgot to mention they gave us dessert after as well.
The hours listed on their website are incorrect. They indicate they are open until 11, but the kitchen closes earlier. Be aware of this prior to driving in or attempting to place a takeout order. Will happily update this review if I have a chance to actually try the restaurant. Disappointing experience tonight.
Ate twice. The food is Fujian style. It tastes very good and the service is also very good. However, there are some missing dishes.
Visited this place while in the area. The space is small and there is always a lineup, so we had to take a number but the wait wasnt too long. Having read many reviews, I picked the baked cheese curry chicken with rice and it didnt disappoint. Ordering is through QR code but the service was prompt and efficient. They do offer a 10% cash discount. Overall a good experience.
Very good service, staff are friendly, good is amazing. sure will come again
Very good service. Food is excellent
Delicious food, good service, and reasonable consumption. Satisfied, like
Food portion is big, lunch special every day. Good place for lunch.
Delicious and reasonably priced
Efficient staff. Good flavors stir fry rice noodles. Big round table good for family get together.
Update: (Dec4.2024) Lina is the best server, her service made me change my thoughts for this place. This time service is excellent and food is as great as usual, they are also having great lunch special with only $9.99!! Food: Came here for the first time to try their Peking Duck, coz their price is unbeatable overall in Toronto. The portion is good, and there is no additional charge for the second duck course, we had the lettuce wrap and they were so generous on the lettuce, they gave the whole half of it (unlike the usual only about 10 lettuce leaves). (5/5) I also tried the Fried Oyster with Duck Egg Yolk, the egg yolk is less, can t really taste it BUT the oysters are fresh and big!! (4.5/5) Other Chow Mein and Fried Rice is above average, I think they do hVe a bit msg but I guess that s quite normal in Chinese restaurants. Hot & Sour Soup is just so so, not sour enough but big portion. I tried their Fried Tofu once, it was a take out and so I don t have a photo of it, that was SO GOOD!! (10/5)!! Service: The service was a bit awkward at the beginning, coz it was a bit busy and we were brought to a large round table that looks unprepared (like no table cloth covered and you can see the dirt on the surface) So we asked if we can have a table cloth since I noticed that all other large round tables are covered with it; and we waited quite awhile as if we got forgotten in the corner. But the service gets better after we all settled down, the server pot down the curtains for us to block the sunlight, and they are very attentive to give us water, refill tea and stuff with smile. So I would rate them 4.5/5 coz there was still one server that wasn t too enthusiastic, don t know if it s because I didn t order the stuff that she tried to up sale to me. Atmosphere: It is a crowded place and quite busy, not sure if it s because I came here on a weekend lunch hour. The utensils are not perfectly clean, it s more like food stall grade of cleanness. Don t expect they are like high grade restaurant standard even they sell fancy food like Lobster and King Crabs here. Wheelchair accessibility: It s very cramp inside the restaurant so it s hard to get the wheelchair in during rush hour.
Service and food excellent
Flat, big portion, good taste
Great place.
Great food and service
Their food tastes a bit salty. It used to be okay. Maybe the chef has changed recently.
I will visit this shop every once in a while. It used to taste good, but I don t know if the chef has changed recently. The takeaway I bought today (Niwa dishes) was very salty.
Inexpensive casual eatery
Very good value. Authentic HK style Cantonese cuisine.
Ordered a few main dishes for takeout. The staff answering the call was friendly and efficient. Food was ready for pickup within half an hour. Food was average. Good spot for last minute casual dinner.
Service: - We made reservations for 15 people a couple days ahead and got seated immediately upon checking in. There was only 12 chairs but the staff were able to accommodate us for 15. Staff warned us it may be tight but it felt just right to me. - The table had a rotating tabletop in the middle which was convenient but it kept rotating automatically. - We ordered congee midway but never got it. - Food arrived at a steady rate which was nice, but our duck bone soup came last which was least preferred. Food: The highlights were: - Deep Fried Fish Fillet w/ Spicy Salt $16.99 - Fish Roe, Eel & Crab Meat Fried Rice $16.99 - Cantonese Chow Mein $16.99 Everything else was good but pretty standard compared to other Chinese restaurants: - Peking Roast Duck Two Courses Dinner $60.99 * Sliced Duck Skin and Meat, Wrap with Scallions, Cucumbers and Sweet Paste in Pancake * Duck Meat Wrapped by Lettuce * Duck Soup made of Duck Bones - Lobster with Silverfish $32.99 - Stir Fried Beef with Chinese Broccoli $16.99 - Spice & Pepper Salt Shrimp $17.99 - Yeung Chow Fried Rice with Shrimp & BBQ Pork $13.99 - Mixed Vegetable Fried Rice $11.99 - Beef with Vegetable Chow Mein $16.99
Delicious food & excellent services. Its a pleasure to come here. I really enjoy to come here with friends. All staffs have professional services. Its an amazing place to visit here
Good seafood but very noisy. We had the Goodluck clam sashimi with congee and a green vege.
My dish tasted numb, but other people said their dish was ok. The price is reasonable and the portion is huge, and afternoon tea comes with ice cream and red bean ice.
Good food, good food!
Delicious and cheap, great service! Worth recommending
The service is really bad but the food is average. The restaurant is brightly decorated and the bathroom is very dirty.
Today I had a lunch set for 4 people. The fried meat was not freshly fried, but was fried in the leftovers from yesterday. The lobster was not freshly cooked either. It was dry. The leftover taste was evident in the first bite. The soup was fake fried pork skin. The fish maw soup and the meat skin were not fried properly, the buttered cabbage was so delicious, and the plain chicken was mediocre.
The food is good especially the fried Singapore noodle. It is their signature dish
Naomi is such a pleasant person with good humor and smiling all the time. The foods are great with good prices.
Tastes great Like it
Great food!
So yummy.
Good food Good services
Come for their afternoon specials!
Order it online, went to pick it up, and was told they never received the order. I do hope they can do something about their online system. I was appreciated the staff is trying their best to fix the issue
Good food and great price! Portions were large as well.
Casual and typical place to come and eat chinese food. Had fried udon noodles and it was nothing that amazing or stood out to me but it was still presented nicely and the service was exceptional. The food portions were also alot and made me feel filled after one dish. The atmosphere reminded me of any other chinese restaurant but with extra details and was decorated a bit better. Overall just come here if youre looking for casual food.
Food is good but I got thirsty as the nights goes on. Needed to drink lots of water.
Great Cantonese restaurant. Reasonable price.
WOW, If I could give it 10 stars I would. I came with my family the other day and we loved it. The food was great, we tried the lamb hot pot, fried egg yolk lobster, salted fish fried rice, and the fried garlic ribs. Would recommend any of these dishes as they were all good! Would definitely come back again!
You can eat king crab in restaurants at supermarket prices One crab for four plus two side dishes Additional palm-sized oysters and stuffed fish fried rice
I love the afternoon tea special! There are so many delicious options to choose from, and the staff is super attentive and friendly. #AfternoonTea #Yummy #FriendlyStaff
Food came quickly. Decent value. Ice cream red bean drink was not bad for the price. Overall a decent cheaper eats place.
The products in this store are very fresh and taste good overall, very good
I stopped by Shine Kitchen for a casual lunch and was really impressed! Nice interior with super comfortable seating, and the food was delicious. Overall, its a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal.
Maggi fish head stew has large portions and patient service
Highly recommended for family gatherings as the dishes are delicious and big. The service was excellent with plenty of attention given to the customers needs.
Afternoon tea is great! Fried tofu is delicious! The Maggi fish head dish is delicious. Hello! A great place for seniors to get together
Too noisy
I think its great!
It tastes great, the portions are big, and the service is spot on. A store we really like! Will come often
The food is very delicious, the service is very good, praise!
It s really delicious and the portion is big enough! Our family came all the way from far away! Specially packed and taken away! A store I like very much
The foods are really delicious, my family came here many times
I love foods here, so yummy
Foods so amazing
Food came out fast and was delicious! We got a table really fast as well! Definitely recommend
Food and service are great and will come back for sure
Typical Cantonese style restaurant.
Excellent service and prices, good food with a lot of choices.
Go to for afternoon tea!
Authentic Cantonese flavor, afternoon tea is super affordable and comes with ice cream and red bean ice! Large portions and great value for money! It s already my family s dining hall
Great value for money Cantonese restaurant
Very tasty with reasonable price!
Free drink afternoon tea daily, cash 10% off now. Big plate, good food, good taste, good service!
Great food and service. We ordered the king crab, lobster and Vancouver crab dishes and they were amazing. Would recommend this restaurant to others.
Good food, good price. The staff are very friendly. Highly recommend.
Great service!
A beautiful girl who is close to the people, Hongdou Bingzheng
Good food! Excellent value! Good service! Highly recommended! Come back for sure!
Tasty food with great price. The staff are very friendly and polite. Highly recommend.
3 Gs: Good price, Good food and Good services. Highly recommended.
Good taste and good service
Good food and good price
Come for afternoon tea (2pm). You get a cold drink and have the option to add sides for $3 (my picks: fried squid, fried wings). 11-5pm deals Free fried turnip dish when you spend $40! Lobster noodles $23.88
Poor waitress service, took lengthy time to deliver dish by dish, one out of 4 dishes is below standard. My first time visit is the last.
Food is decent. Lobster noodles and Fried Rice!! Looks good.
Overall, everything is good, the price is moderate, the dishes are generous, especially the service is great , Niaomi is not only enthusiastic but also helps us prepare the dishes until we are satisfied
Great service, good food and reasonable price! Vegetarian options: Food : 5/5 |
The waiters were nice and the food was good.
Super bargin during their anniversary and yet foods are delicious, they have just renovated and very comfy thou.
Shine is a little noisy if its busy. If youre a smaller party, consider sharing a table to get food in your tummy faster. Typically the food arrives quickly once you order. Sometimes the staff dont know the specials so make sure you ask when to order and when you see the bill. Parking: The number of spots are limited if you come during the busy lunch, afternoon tea or dinner time. There is additional parking behind the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: The tables are really tight and not wheelchair accessible. The bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.
Come here if you enjoy terrible service.
Amazing service 10/10 the waitress are so nice to me the food are 8/10 my relatives love eating there !
taste good
These guys cannot for their life change their smoke detector batteries. That thing has been beeping for at least one month (May to June). Everything about this restaurant is average, so if you want authentic Chinese cuisine for a fair price, you can still visit. Parking: Plenty of parking, none of it is accessible
Familiar dishes, good portions, in a casual setting. But it wont amaze you. Consider it if youre looking for a casual lunch option or takeout, with daily specials to boot.
Good value for the price and very taste and authentic.
The food was good and came out fast. But halfway through the meal, was asked to move tables to make space for another party in exchange for a free item but only received iced tea.
Under new management or added new menu. Food tastes great. The fried rice was disappointment in that the rice grains are of a low quality, hard and not completely cooked like plastic rice? The menu prices are decent and there is no auto tipping . They also accept credit card payment which all restaurants should.
Fair price but portion is inconsistent. One time was good portion and another time is smaller. The flavour is pretty good though. The lobster is pretty good though it needs more flavour.
Food is good at reasonable price
You can tell ingredients were not fresh. The fried radish cakes had a weird red powder on it and the radish itself was almost non-existent. The eel fried rice was mediocre at best. The sweet and sour pork was the only decent choice, and even then probably only half of the dish was meat.
Very busy during dinner hours as inside is a small place. Reservation is a must. Very loud inside as tables are very close together. Cash 10% off, quite a good deal. For 6 people, total bill was <$100, which is seldom seen nowadays.
We booked two large tables a week in advance for Mothers Day to celebrate the Queen Mother at home. In the end, 23 of us sat at one table, thinking that the other party might not have made arrangements. This time I booked two large tables 5 days in advance for Fathers Day. I also told the other party that the last time I booked two tables was changed to one table, and asked the other party to pay attention. Unexpectedly, when I arrived before 6 oclock on Saturday evening, there was still only one table. I waited for an hour for two tables but they still havent been arranged. If you cant make a reservation, you can say its first come first served. If you have a reservation, you dont have room to order a yarn. I wont go to such a rubbish store in the future. I advise everyone to stay away from this store.
I ordered a takeaway version of spareribs and waited for nearly an hour. The portion size was much smaller than dining in. Not recommended.
Always a busy place, book a table before you go there.
This is my first time helping, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the price.
Same owner as Mr. Congee Chinese Cuisine at Bridlewood Mall so they still got that wok hay here which not many places have anymore! There s usually promos going on that if you spend over a certain amount, you ll get discounted dishes or even for free (ie. you get a lamb hot pot for $18.88 which is valued at almost $40 if you spend $68, or a steamed chicken for $5.99 if you spend $50)
Went there for afternoon tea special which means a free ice cream red bean drink Food is considered considering how quickly the orders were served Servers didnt seem to be enjoying their work. Could be theyre overworked as this place is always packed Vegetarian options: Lo han cai mein is a good choice for vegetarians. Side dishes like salt and pepper tofu or Singapore fried radish cake are tasty
Excellent food
server really friendly and recommends us good dishes and reasonable pricing as well !!
Amazing dinner and very friendly staff!
One of the best meals I ve ever had! Staff were so friendly and fast!
Food is delicious. Especially the Sticky Rice Chicken.
The service is really terrible The carrot cake didnt come after 30 minutes of waiting. Every waiter said it was being made very quickly. He never went to the kitchen to see it. When ordering, he kept recommending their own favorite dishes. Plates are not changed until after eating The restaurant is bright and tidy, but I didn t expect that the kitchen and bathroom were very dirty.
Tea sets come with iced drink, reasonable price. Foods taste alright, dont expect too much based on the price you pay for. The signature chicken soup is very good. Kid-friendliness: A place for family dinner/lunch
A typical Chinese restaurant in Toronto. After the 2024 Spring Festival, prices have changed and some discounts for afternoon tea have been cancelled.
Too noisy
The service was fast and friendly. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. I tried the deep fried ribs for the first time, and they are now a favourite! They are seasoned beautifully and are crispy outside with tender meat inside. You have to try them!
I was order party tray of Snow Pea Leaves with King Mushrooms ( I changed to Tofu instead of the Mushrooms) and look at what they did. I was so disappointed with it. I have paid more than $50 for a tray of Tofu. Nobody come to the party to eat this Tofu. Never ever again... Vegetarian options: Snow pea leaves with king mushrooms ( sub to tofu)
Today is my first time and also the last time. We have ordered salted chicken. Very very very disappointed with that, extremely dry thin andsalty and still a lot of chicken feathers
Solid affordable restaurant with good lunch deals.
Its OK to eat, but not to chat. Its too noisy.
Very authentic Cantonese cuisine. The black bean beef noodles was perfectly cooked with wok hei. Lobster noodles was very tasty. Busy on the weekends and weekdays. It goes to show that good food and value, customers will show up everyday.
This is one of my favorites Chinese food place. The price and food is outstanding. I goes there at least one a week sometime 3 or 4 time a week. Never get sick of the choice they have
Had my favorite 1. lo mein shredded pork & penny hot sauce. The colour and flavour was spot on. Great portion and comes with soup on the side. 2. The big bowl noodle was huge lots of noodles and had so many assorted toppings mixed, highly recommend to get! 3. Got a beef and fish congee it was was good but lacked a bit of taste, it was quite bland no green onions as garnish in it. Had to add some pepper powder. The beef was tender and fish if ate right away was soft as well.
It was worth it
Bad service....
Love this place
It tastes great! Cheap and good quality! There are just too many people and it s too crowded.
The food is edible. I will say that there is only 1 server who seems to care or make an attempt to make the customers experience positive. This is the second time we have driven in from Hamilton to dine. Because of our horrific experience with them seating us by the front door, specifically called in advance requesting a table near the back to celebrate a 70th birthday. Not only did they try to see this near the door again, they didnt even have a reservation written down. All of this traveling and planning for this big birthday and the host was absolutely rude about it when my father got upset (rightly so). We were incredibly shocked when only four the seven dishes we ordered were available. We dined at 5:00 p.m. so we were not expecting them to run short of chicken and a specific type of fish. The dining area is super tight. Be aware of this if you are uncomfortable with small spaces My question is what is the point of being able to make reservations if you are not going to honor our request? Hopefully this review will kick them in the pants enough to make changes.
Food is good and price is cheap.
Good product. The taste is ok.
Jenny Kiana has a very good service attitude
Cheap option in Toronto/ Markham area. Solid Chinese restaurant and you cannot go wrong. Dont expect too much since it is a budgeted one.
Love the turnip cakes! Plus prices are good and portions are large :)
We had to stop a waitress to order food because nobody attended to us. And then 40 minutes later nothing came so we asked another waitress about our food, and then a minute later she came over saying we never ordered anything. The funny thing was, this entire time, nobody came to us, nobody came over and said would you like to order, we had to call waiter/waitress over for EVERYTHING. There were about 12~13 tables of customers and 4 servers. I have no idea what s wrong. Maybe make your restaurant a buffet, so that people can serve themselves.
Restaurant environment is very poor and service is not good either. Not recommended this place.
We were welcomed warmly. The food tasted very good. Forgot to take pictures. We will definitely go again.
I absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing, not too salty or oily and the service was even better. They were all so friendly and welcoming. This may be my new favourite spot and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to eat good food in a great environment!
Very nice place to have lunch or dinner with families. The food is tasty, the prices are reasonable and the service is good. They have recently replaced all the tables and seats, so very nice and clean. It s worth to go.
Fried rice was bland. Deep fried pumpkin was super salty. Seafood was mid. However, it was almost impossible to find a table for an entire family reunion. They need more space and larger tables. Staff members were also very loud. They wouldn t stop shouting. Food is overpriced. I would not recommend coming here again.
We went there for a casual lunch and all dishes were good and big in portion. Congee is their specialty
Since opening their doors, Shine Kitchen brings honest homestyle Cantonese cuisine across their menu options. Locals frequent this spot for classic dishes such as Stir Fried Lobster, Fried Rice Noodles, Congee, and more whether its the lunch, dinner or afternoon tea menu. The service can be a hit or miss at times as during peak times, the staff can be a bit stressed at times and may be a little passive aggressive given the lack of staff to accommodate for large groups. Aside from that, the food is what Shine Kitchen should be frequented for!
We had dinner here, The food was tasty, good price, very crowded and kind of noisy. All in all, a solid 4 stars
Good
This is the worst Cantonese restaurant we have experienced at the same consumption level. The price/performance ratio is ridiculously bad!
We ordered stir fry clams, scramble eggs with shrimp, and Chinese broccoli with beef. The taste is good, portion is big, price is on the cheaper side. However, the bowls are not too clean and very sticky feeling when you touch it! I do recommend for food but be aware of the bowls. Maybe do take out!
The taste is average, the ingredients are quite fresh
The service was very good and the taste was good. Will definitely come back again
rubber band came with BC crab!! Still have a after-taste when I left restaurant. service was good while it was very noisy for a party of 2, they do not take reservation. very short list of al-la-carte dinner menu (not even one vegetable dish like garlic gai lan). good deal in combos for 4+ party and thats their target customers, not us.
Recommended restaurant with great food and good value
The foods really great but for some reason the lobster is kinda greasy and I m getting tired of the lobster but overall most of the food is good
The service was bad, the serve always forget to bring items you ask for. You have ask for twice. The food is average. Overall very disappointed.
Shine Kitchen has been added to my parents roster of reliable, well-priced and tasty food spots they enjoy. I ve been there a few times with them now and agree that it s a comfortable, casual and consistent spot for some great Chinese food uptown. I particularly enjoy the shrimp wonton soup and spicy turnip cakes and beef tendon. Executing comforting Chinese classics, Shine Kitchen is somewhere we will continue to frequent.
Good Food, Good Service. Very down to earth, not 4 all, but I like it
Should be 10 stars instead of 5. It was that good. Just order anything, will not disappoint. Busy like hell though.
The price here is extremely good with large portions. However, the washer is very dirty. The restaurant is also very cluttered, they use the eating area for storage of plates, utensils, etc.
