The girl that works the cashier is fast, friendly, patient, and she is good with interacting with seniors and English speakers. The milk tea and “Cherng fun” is really good and my mom really likes the combo B rice.
the protion and taste and food quality has gone south, not recommand their casserole rice because not worth it. but not filling or tasty and service slow and unattentive, they using strapy meat bone and little bit of perserve meat for their house casserole rice. the portion is much smaller than previous review
don’t get the fried noodles… the worst I have tried ever… I added some salts myself but still couldn’t cover the burnt taste…
Another enjoyable meal with crispy rice bottom (fan jui) It takes 25 minute to make the bottom cripsy. I gave $20 deposit to dine in for the casserole pot, but you that is not take out. Topings - decent amout of dried pork, dried shrimp and scallops. Had the lap mai (dried pork) and bone in chicken last week. There was a generous amount of meat. -------- Great flavors. But if you like the cripsy rice at the bottom. Call 20 minues ahead ao you so have to wait ao long
Amazed at the bang for buck "Chinese Casserole Rice" (not claypot) but still had the crispy outer layer. Combo had duck egg and veggies, soup and your choice of casserole rice. No need to tip it's a food court.
SO GOOD. Great price and quality we loved everything we ordered!! Please try the pork in tomato and cream sauce in rice it was phenomenal. Everything also came with the best chicken broth soup. Splendid flavours and service. Food was HOT just the way I like it. Definitely a hidden gem in a food court.
Ask for a special Fried rice noodles with replacement shrimps and adding 2 eggs for an extra of $5,25 totaling $15.55. They obviously did not add 2 eggs but denied it so. The fried noodles is also not tasty with with sauce and flavors. Last time I eat there!
Located in the Chartwell Centre food court, this is a new restaurant. I ordered the shrimp, Chinese sausage and egg on rice claypot for $9.99. The claypot casserole dishes take approximately 20minutes to cook, so as long as you have time and are willing to wait, you will be rewarded with a tasty meal. It comes with a side dish of green and also a choice of beverage (I got the soy milk), and the all important special soy sauce. Why is it special you ask? Well regular soy sauce just tastes salty. The soy sauce that is used to accompany the claypot casserole rice is sweetened. So it has to be made. The soy sauce is nice as it helps to add aromatics and depth to the rice. What makes this dish especially nice is the use of fresh match stick ginger on top of the rice to not only add fragrance, but to also balance out the soy sauce and meats. The vegetable side dish is nice, lightly flavoured and is a good contrast to the rice and meats.
What the hell! I paid extra for a cup of soy milk, which was bland and had an unknown amount of water added. I told the store clerk that I could have frozen lemon tea if it wasnt prepared yet, but another store clerk said no, I could only order it hot, and Id have to pay extra for the cold one. Very bad attitude. Now with three stores in one mall, they seem to be the largest. The level has dropped all the way. I won t help you again!
c18 baked white sauce with ham and chicken
The rice base of the claypot rice is well cooked, the rice is full of aroma, golden and crispy, and the pork ribs are delicious and smooth. Although the rapeseed is slightly warm, it is still a claypot rice worth trying.
Good value for money, good milk tea, and enough beef brisket
I came here specifically for the claypot rice. The price is a bit expensive. The container is not a claypot but a disposable aluminum product. Im a little disappointed. The quantity of the four cured meats above was a little less. But one thing is that they are all freshly made, which gives me a
I like their food, but I have to deduct a star because they put a plastic lid on the food container even when I specifically say it s for here. It s wasteful, though they are not the only ones who do this.
Good restaurant for casserole rice
Don t order A7 chicken and Chinese sausage because I received chicken bones and very few sausage. The old lady has very bad attitude.
For the price.... Its pretty good.... Where else for that price.... Love seeing people complaining about the food and service... I like to see you do it at home for that price and not smoke up or burn the house down.... Sure taste better than the average home cooked instant noodles....
I asked for spaghetti instead of rice and they wanted $1 charge. Go to the stand that s 2 stand down. You ll get better service.
Just average
Totally unacceptable, i have waited for 45 mins for the rice. They told me I should have wait it for 25 mins only.. what a waste of time.
I ordered takeout for my mom. It was Jan 9 2022 Sunday around 1pm. Theres people lining up and waiting for order but most of them keeping good distance. One star deducted due to LONG wait time. I understand takes time. I expected 15 - 20 mins, but it ended up almost 45 mins. Theres no table/chair to rest due to no dine-in protocol. All the standing with mask on I was super exhausted. Good thing was the tasted good and my mom loved it. I often visited Bestco but never thought of taking a look inside this mini mall. Its quite an awesome food court with about 6 restaurants with authentic Cantonese food ( , , , ...etc). This was the first one we tried.
Today I ordered squid meatloaf rice. The rice was charred, the meatloaf was fresh, and the taste was salty and sweet. The portion of the dish was full, and the cut was more than two inches and the stem was broken in the middle. It was very considerate. The lady who collected the money at the shop was very patient. and politeness.
Oh no, i just found out, they sold their business just recently and stuck with the same name. Sadly, my favorite $7 to-go lunch combo, satay beef rice soup noodles + lemon honey tea drink + egg sandwich, is no longer tasty.
I think ownership change food doesn t taste the same was way better before
Too much rice, too little meat, garbage
Expensive
grab money
Good foods and selection.
I decided to give Taste Casserole Rice a try for dinner. I ordered the baked pork chops on rice with cheese and tomato sauce, black bean sauce beef noodle, and cashew chicken. The foods taste good and reasonable price. There was a miscommunication with the cashier after I placed the order of the cashew chicken. I was under the impression it comes with white rice but apparently I have to order two dishes to get the white rice.
Great price and quality! Pot rice is very good for winter times!
order this. 14 dollars. Chicken is really smelly and beef. Tasty weird Meat all not fresh. I ate some. Most of all throw to garbage. I got vomited after ate. Feeling gross. Unbelievable. Lucky didn t eat all of them. Otherwise I need to call ambulance.
Very traditional Hong Kong pot rice
Good to note that they offer a variety of snack combos. Good service as well. Highly recommended.
This place is part of the Chartwell Shopping Centre food court serving classic Taishan clay pot rice ( ). I ordered the four treasures rice ( ): Chinese sausage (pork and liver), preserved duck, cured pork belly and eel. $9.95+tax and a 20 minute wait. The chef is from Taishan, cooking the clay pots directly on the gas stove, leaving a decent crunchy bottom. A good sized portion of yau choi ( ) is served with the pot. Well done overall. The preserved meats and rice were a little on the dry side and I wish there was a little more eel, but difficult to complain about value at this price.
Fake fish soup. Make a fake dog. Use MSG soup as fish soup.
Great place for clay pot rice for an affordable price in the area. Usually takes quite a while to wait, but the food is worth it.
They all taste good
