Great little place. Really feels like an old-style diner. We went there for breakfast. My wife didn't like hers unfortunately. Said the eggs were too runny, the bacon not crispy enough. She only told me this after though. Tough to fix after the fact. Anyway, I for one liked my food. But I do have to point out that this particular location is not wheelchair accessible;despite what Google says. I would go back, only to prove my wife wrong.
Food is nothing special. Got that cook everything in one pan kind of look to it when you see how much "extra" burnt bit are in the food. The portion size is generous. Service is okay, but again, nothing special. Typical dinner efficiency and welcoming. A lot of folks seem to think the atmosphere is "amazing." It's not. Typical 80s "funky retro dinner" but it not the 80s anymore. If you look closer as you sit and wait for your food, you'll quickly notice just how dirty and unkempt the place is. Stains on the walls are surly years old.
Nice little spot for your classic breakfast. Portions were pretty large and their potatoes were very nicely seasoned. Tiny piece of my pancake was a bit undercooked but would go back for classic breakfast goodies. Place was tucked away in a small plaza with free parking and the decor inside was had a cool vintage feel.
Wimpy's is the place to go to get 'bang' for your hard earned dollar. I ordered fish (haddock) & chips and the portions were enough to feed two hungry people! The chips were hot & crispy and the fish was tender with a light crisp breading. The house made tartar sauce was heavy on the relish but otherwise well worth the $19 for this go to comfort food. The vibe is cool with 50's /60's red diner booths to sit in and old juke boxes on the walls. Love the retro vibe.
Wow, haven't seen portions this big in years. Hidden gem. They don't skimp on the veggies and cheese in their omelettes. Omelettes came with a huge portion of fresh home fries and 3 pieces of bread. It was a solid two meals worth of food. Excellent customer service. Oh, and they had gluten free bread! The place is 40 years old and authentically retro, as opposed to new cafes pretending to be old nowadays:) this was a great find and we'll definitely be coming back!
I live close to this Wimpys but have never tried it until recently. The service was friendly, I felted welcomed and the food was excellent, the breakfast platters are big enough to share between two people. I enjoy the old style look to the restaurant. It seems like a lot of locals come here too, the parking lot is a bit rough esp during winter but maybe out of their control.
If you're in Scarborough, specially south and looking for the best breakfast place, this Wimpy's is all you want. right at the corner of a busy intersection and even busier inside. It's also a burger joint for your evening sports sessions with lots of TV screens around. I went there for breakfast and the news was playing with really good ambience. The Waitress was really welcoming but the food was beyond anything I could imagine. I grabbed the early bird pancake deal which is probably the best thing you can have there. I ate the whole thing in 3 days the quantity was just so much. The pancake was the best I have had so far in most Breakfast joints. The ham and eggs were perfectly cooked. The potatoes were the best fries I have tried so far as well. Definitely going there again for any breakfast experience. The wifi is not for the customers but everything was tiptop and clean and cozy. I took ketchup and hot sauce but the food was too good for me to ruin with anything else.
Food was a oily I had a meet omelette which has bacon ham sausage and cheese the sausage did not taste right it tasted sour the egg should have been able to hold everything which I don't know what they've done but it was falling apart and you get home fries which was very salty and 2 over cooked and coffee was the only thing that was good I paid 17 and change and I don't think it was worth that. That's my opinion and I'll think I'll be returning to this restaurant it really didn't look clean yes I go around to restaurants and I test their foods and I review them and I put my reviews down after.
Friendly food good thats why we go back
Despite the mostly positive reviews, the lunch experience was the most disappointing of our stay. Beyond the rather dubious appearance of the place, the cuisine is nothing exceptional and is even rather mediocre. Errors and omissions on our order with an additional absence of smile on the part of the waitress, the food was really average for prices that were however correct compared to the competition. But if you have the chance, visit the competition and save your time.
This morning my co worker and I were searching for a breakfast spot for a quick meeting and then found wimpys. We were greeted at the door with a big smile and a hello and found the service felt like a real diner and the portions were incredibly generous. Safe to say I ll be coming back

May be a bit biased as I used to come here as a kid, but food was delicious and big portions. Only slight negative was the juke boxes dont work, but they still lend to the 50s diner ambience.

Tracy Was kind and welcoming. Only reason why this isn t 4 stars is because Google pricing is 11.49 but the bfast combo was $12.97 inside the store, the food was also a bit oily.

Ordered breakfast from wimpys on the skip the dishes app. We ordered eggs peameal bacon home fries and I had a side of bacon and toast with jam. My husband liked his food and received 3 eggs, 3 pieces of peameal bacon with a huge amount of home fries. My bacon came crispy as I requested and got 4 pieces. Toast came with 4 jams which was great as I love a jammy toast. Only suggestion I would like to make is coffee delivery, lids are open so the coffee spilled. Next time can you cover the lids with plastic wrap or get stickers to place over the holes. This way nothing leaks out and customers have a better delivery experience. Overall this Place was good and I would order again. Update Ordered 2 for 1 western and fried through uber eats Nice size but fries tasted stale, I think its the oil.
Worst experience! Their rice smelled so bad it was sour! The Greek salad was worst! Some.of the lettuce was brown and and the tomatoes were soft and spoilt! So much for my kids Friday night diner! I called the location and their woman.who picked up.was more angry than me..imagine her apology was.loud and filled with anger! Disrespectful and lack of empathy for customers. Never me again with this st.clair location

Been going to Wimpys for 35years, not many restaurants around these days, where you can sit and have a great breakfast at a great price. Wimpys at Christmas time every year will wip up a delicious Canadian style Christmas dinner, you wont be disappointed, hope to see you there. Fake mashed potatoes and old soggy beans. This location is not near the quality of the others. Wont order again. In response to the owners comments..I have never had real potatoes that were liquid or steamed green beans that were this soggy I did call to complain but was hung up on when I mentioned the word complaint.

The potatoes dont taste right, and whyd you douse everything with parsley.... Completely ruined it and has thrown off the flavor.... Definitely disappointed and likely going to throw this out.
No matter what I always like coming to wimpys. This one in particular. The server is great! I love hearing the chefs talk their stories. Its hilarious. Great food!! I love the eggs benedict and burgers. The home fries are sooo good!! They did shorten the menu, but thank God they still had hash! Lol

Most places that give you food poisoning dont charge $11 for a cheeseburger - come to Wimpys to try out this experience ! Sorry I forgot to give you proof of poisoning for evidence - should I drive back and sign something for you? Im sure I can call the doctors and public health department to comply with your request. What a surprise right? When you give out food poisoning, it makes sense you care more about some imaginary certificate than the actual poisoning.

Was in to try in-store dining for the 1st time in over 16 months. Breakfast was great, as always. The covid measures looked good (glass partitions in between seats) but didnt see any hand sanitizer anywhere for customers. Even the smallest business has at least a small bottle near entrance/exit. The chef was walking around without a mask talking to customers. Overheard one customer asking waitress not to check for vaccine proof when it goes in effect on September, 22. I dont like the clientele that seem to thing they are privelleged and dont need to show proof.
A bit pricey but OK grub, love the nostalgia inside
The Wimpys in Hamilton is way better quality and sanitary. Last time I was at at this location I did take out of chicken parmesean. 2 tbspns of sauce over noodles with a few bits of chicken. Not worth the money.

Came with a group of roughly 25 (kids hockey team) and the family run staff were great. Highly efficient and great tasting food (based on everyone s opinion not just my own). Be warned. Portion sizes are large so bring an appetite. For the price highly worth it. A bit tight for space even with a smaller group but for great food and a great staff no problems here! Thanks for breakfast PS. One of the best strawberry shakes I ve had!!

The restaurant needs a major renovation... it looks like a barn .... it is extremely dirty walls, tables, the washroom..... I barely could finish my food ....obviously it is an old restaurant but it is also dirty... there is mold in the washroom... I do not know how health Canada allows restaurants like this operate..... it looks like everything except a restaurant....... I would change the name to APPETITE KILLER
Typical diner with typical diner food. However, l love their blueberry pancakes. They also serve all day breakfast. I have since been to the Wimpys Diner east of Victoria Park on Ellesmere. It is under new management, again, and I was advised that they no longer serve blueberry pancakes. I dont know if this is chain-wide or only this location, but the blueberry pancakes were my reason for going there, so I wont be going back. I also dont know what is going on with the management at this location. This is the 2nd management change in less than 2 years, when the previous management had been there for many years.
Ordered 2 burgers, a 6oz and a 10oz thru Skip the dishes. My order came and they had put my toppings on my daughters burger and vice versa. I called the restaurant to complain and the woman couldnt do a thing to help because we dont have our own drivers. Then maybe you should try not to screw up peoples orders!!!! I even tipped the restaurant $5. Thatll be the last time I tip a restaurant thanks to Wimpys. Nicely done.

Congratulations! You ve discovered the original Wimpy s! It might not be the biggest location, but it s by far the BEST! The staff are friendly, and dedicated to giving you the greatest Wimpy s experience. Nice hometown, 50 s diner s feel. The atmosphere is super authentic, as well as the collectors memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. Whether you re already a Wimpy s fan, or if this is your first time at a Wimpy s, you re going to love it so much, you might not want to leave! I quickly became a regular, after discovering this place, and you probably will too! Enjoy! UPDATE: I am soooooo looking forward to being able to dine in here again! I have missed the staff and other regulars so badly! There are many elderly wimpys customers so I ve just completely stayed away, to keep them safe. But every week that goes by, I get just a bit sadder. I miss my wimpys so bad! You can bet I ll be there on day 1 of phase 3! As far as I m concerned, this wimpys location should be considered an essential service because I just love it so much. Home made breakky just isn t the same.

Best place for homemade meals in Scarborough... the staff always greet you all of them cook waitstaff owners. Never uncomfortable just a great vibe and portions are huge.

Moneys worth. However, the servers dont mention the price attached with the add-ons. For example, I asked for Turkey bacon with my omelette. The server asked me whether I wanted it on the side or chopped up. I wanted it on the side. When I saw the bill, they charged me more than what was on the menu. That was because they charged me for it as a side not a topping, so I had to pay double the price. The quantity was still good and I had no problem paying because it was moneys worth. But the server should have mentioned that on the side would be double the cost. Also, we were offered hot sauce, ketchup and chipotle sauce. We picked ketchup and chipotle. When the bill came, they had charged us for the chipotle sauce. Really Wimpys? You charged us for chipotle sauce? The server never mentioned there was extra charge. It just felt like they were hiding extra charges so we get the item and forced to pay.

A much smaller location, not wheelchair friendly. But nice staff. Due to its size it can be very loud at times. We came after the lunch rush and found it to still be a little loud but not in a horrible way. The washroom is in the basement but still clean just steep stairs most likely due to age of building. Service was good and the usual eclectic decor of wimpys was fun to look at, a few gems present
Hadnt been to Wimpys in a few years and I forgot how great it is! I had the early bird special. Over-easy eggs perfect, homefries well done (def done in butter and to perfection), bacon was the perfect chewiness and hot coffee. Did I forget to say the food was perfect? The atmosphere is laid back, family oriented. Lots of regulars and lots of friendly banter. Its small but stands out as one of the best breakfast spots in Toronto.
