I drove more than 30 kilometers to buy malatang, 620 grams for 21.25 after discount! When I packed it up and went home, I found that there was a lot less food in it! I ve noticed this before, but didn t pay much attention! I paid special attention to it this time, and it turned out that it was really missing! Speechless, I will definitely not go there again.

They have the best beef broth soup and you can adjust spice level. Ingredients are alway so fresh and a wide variety of noodles to choose from.

A Malatang place that I come to frequently. I like the atmosphere and service here. They are friendly and attentive. I especially love the beef bone soup here. I come here almost every two weeks. It is my special treat, and the location is very convenient. I brought a few friends here to eat, and they all enjoyed it very well. Youll be full every time, and it costs about 14-20 yuan, depending on how much you take.

Good place for Malatang, albeit a bit on the pricier side. This place charges $3.29/100g, and it is very easy to get a hefty bill if you arent conservative and pick lighter ingredients. Overall, not too bad for a first experience. I personally wouldnt come back again, though.

One of my favorite malatang brand in GTA. The food is very fresh and the restaurant also provides a generous of variety of ingredients including meat, vegetable and noodle. This is a self serve malatang restaurant in which you take a bowl and a tong, pick whatever you like and choose your soup base. The cost is $3.29/100gram of ingredients. I really like its classic soup (I think it s called pork bone soup) please be aware the soup contains sesame (the staffs always inform customers before placing an order to kitchen). The staffs are friendly and helpful!

I came here for the ma latang experience, i have been to the yonge location already and wanted to give this location a try. It was terrible. My girlfriend had shown me what looked like a ripe potato and pieces of pork that seemed slightly undercooked. Initially, we had thought nothing of it because ma latang is based on the restaurant cooking the dish i make, surely they can cook it properly, False. Within 2 hours, my girlfriend states that she has pain in her stomach, into the night, symptoms get worse and she experiences stomach pain, chills, headache and nausea. She ended up vomiting throughout the night. I don t need to explain the following days but she had to take work off because she caught food poisoning. We don t like to talk down on restaurants but after reading the reviews and realizing that we were not a one-off situation, this is unacceptable. we had an amazing time at the location at Yonge so this shows how a different team affects the success of a restaurant, I ve read reviews from years ago of this restaurant complaining about similar symptoms of food poisoning and yet nothing has been done. This restaurant needs a hygiene revamp or many customers will continue catching these same symptoms.

As a first timer of course you need to ask questions but the older female server s attitude made me feel dumb . Food was good, and it can be very healthy with a lot of vegetables options. Randomly pick this place for dinner. We tried their tomato soup and my friend and I both think the tomato soup was overly thick! My friend had at least 4 diarrhea afterwards! Maybe it was due to the cheese filled balls!! Will never return again!!!

I went to eat Malatang on the night of January 8th. I left a tip for the dine-in meal. During the meal, I asked for a tissue, but the waiter glanced at me and told me to take it myself. Very bad attitude, will not go there again.

The bullfrog was undercooked...the gluten balls were all hard. It was the first time I saw a waiter who asked you to pour your own water. I was a bit shocked...there were only two tables in the afternoon. Waiter, are you busy?

I came to the SC area and tried this MaLaTang. It tasted very good. My friend ordered tomato soup and I ordered beef bone soup. We were both satisfied.

The food items were priced according to its weight and cooked at the back kitchen. The selections were fresh and the broth was flavorful. The service was fine and the place was clean. The food was reasonable priced.

High quality food But the portion is small

The soup base and sesame paste are very flavorful. Except for the beef tripe which is a bit old, the rest of the texture is very good. I chose the vermicelli and it tasted very good. The taste is okay, I can only say that it tastes like a normal Malatang. The bamboo shoots are not cooked enough. I had diarrhea 3 times the next morning and I still didn t get rid of it... this location has a weight minimum which i dont recall at the north york location at yonge/finch, and its more expensive as well, 3.29 as opposed to 2.99. i also enjoyed the broth at the other location better. other location also has an area to make your own topping sauce and provides great reusable utensils (this location had single use chopsticks and a flimsy spoon), other location also gave free water. its the same chain so the ingredients are similar but if youd like to try this chain i d recommend driving a bit further to the north york location instead of this one:)

PROS: There is a large variety of toppings to choose from, including some exotic options such as frog legs. I like that there were so many toppings because I got to try some things that Ive never eaten before. My favourite was the sweet and spicy sausage. The soup portion is large. The restaurant is kept clean. You get a 20% discount if you pay with cash instead of credit card. CONS: I ordered medium spicy bone broth and it didnt have much bone broth flavour; it just tasted plain yet spicy. The server was unfriendly and curt.

We originally wanted to eat Chengdu Zhao Sanniang today, but they were closed because they were on holiday. This Zhang Liang Malatang is too delicious. . . The quality of the ingredients is really poor. The beef is so dry and old. I don t know how much loose meat powder is put into the beef balls. The spicy soup base is hard to describe. The tomato soup is just industrial tomatoes. It s terrible. The key is that after eating it, our throats all felt uncomfortable and our stomachs hurt. We didn t know how much MSG was put in it. . . 20-30 people have such quality. . . Im really speechless. . . If Chengdu Zhao Sanniang has 10 points, then he only has 3 points. Quality wise, the food is impeccable in taste and pretty authentic; it is however too pricy to justify as Malatang, which is unequivocally street food that costs less than a fraction (literally) of this price in China. Id suggest tiered pricing for different ingredients so that I dont end up paying $50 for my bowl mostly with tofu, carbs and greens. Still highly recommended as a speedy and tasty alternative to the hotpot for the enthusiasts out there.

Awesome hotpot place in Finch/Midland! They require 400g minimum in your bowl, then they charge extra for every 100g. You can put any meat, vegetables, noodles, and other exotic toppings which Im not familiar of. I tried most of them & my hotspot turned out to be delicious. The hot sauce can be very spicy, which I like! I went during night/9pm, and theres not a lot of people inside, so it was quite peaceful dinner.

Went to eat on Saturday. The fat girl wearing glasses has a really bad attitude. When you enter the store, I just look at you eagerly. We werent asked if we wanted any drinks or even water with our meal before or after we were served our food, which was a bit strange to us. It didnt take long for our bowl too cool down, also. We were under the assumption initially that wed have a way to keep it hot. I guess things are simply done differently here...

I went to eat Malatang on Saturday and got two hairs. Then I told the clerk. The clerk said that they didn t have such short hair in the store, so it was not their problem. They also said that I might give you a discount next time. This answer left me speechless.

The toppings are good, but the instant noodles get soggy quickly. Theres 2 base to the hotpot soup: a tomato or bone broth flavor, which were both good but not great. Though, the biggest complaint is how there arent any proper utensils! The spoons they have are small plastic ones, and the chopsticks are stubby and wooden, that make it so hard to eat with especially when the bowl is so deep, and the utensils keep sinking in! Please fix this.

If the soup and spiciness weren t great, I d give this place one star. For the price we pay, good service should at least be expected, but the girl who served us practically rolled her eyes as we asked about spice levels and different soup options. When it came time to bring our order to the table, she demanded the number tag back in a rude and impatient tone. I feel like she would be a great server at those themed restaurants where restaurants servers are intentionally rude. Beyond that, the food is actually pretty good, but pricier than the competition.

Restaurant were very accommodating finding us a table on Saturday evening with a late booking.

Mediocre hot pot spot. Self-serve ingredients was a cool touch but I expected to be given the soup and cook the ingredient like a regular hot spot place. Kid bowl had to be minimum of 400g as well which was a waste of food. No cups of water either. Just overall underwhelming and wont go back. One of those... we tried it, its not worth a double take. Sad.
