Tried Sri Lankan fish curry for the first time. Liked it. Excellent service by Kevin. Looking forward to trying more varieties.

Our waitress, Ninansala, provided us with an amazing service. She was patient with our orders and we had a lovely time at 5 Spice. Will definitely come back!

5 Spice Dining is a true gem, offering an extensive menu that showcases the best of Sri Lankan cuisine, from lamprais to pittu and hoppers. These authentic flavors are a rare find, even in Sri Lankan households, making it remarkable to experience them in Canada. A hallmark of Sri Lankan cuisine is the hopper a thin crepe shaped like a bowl, with a soft center (optionally with an egg) and crispy edges. 5 Spice Dining excels in this regard, serving perfect hoppers that highlight their culinary skill. However, their koththu roti, made with non-traditional roti, might not meet expectations, though this is easily overlooked given the abundance of other rare dishes available. Overwhelmed by the options, I indulged in a feast, resulting in delicious leftovers that brought joy to this Sri Lankan for days. The GTA seems to be the only place in Canada with such high-quality Sri Lankan food, a claim that Vancouver, for instance, cannot match. The dining experience begins with a touch of chaos standing at the entrance while the host is on the phone but the service quickly improved thanks to our server, Hiruni. Her genuine Sri Lankan hospitality ensured we had a great experience. My non-Sri Lankan companions expressed surprise at the marked difference between Sri Lankan and Indian food a sentiment that resonates deeply with Sri Lankans who often tire of being mistaken for their neighbours. This acknowledgment of our unique cultural and culinary identity was a gratifying moment, reflecting the importance of representation and understanding. 5 Spice Dining is a must-visit for anyone curious about Sri Lankan food. It offers an authentic and expansive culinary journey through Sri Lankas rich food heritage, making it a standout in Canadas multicultural mosaic.

I visited there for dinner with my friends. The food is OK. Some of us had some stomach issues on the other day morning. They charged 15 % tips in the name of gratuity already in the bill. Its around $20. And, I paid by credit card. And, additional $15 has been charged for the tips again upon making the payment by the credit card in the transaction device. Its a total RIP OFF.

The food is excellent. Well plated. The food served is aesthetic as well and flavourful. Its a honestly a treat for your eyes and your stomach. It is definitely one of the best south Asian/ Tamil restaurants in the GTA. Its a go to date spot if you are trying guys want to try diving into the spices and aromas of Tamil cuisine. SCAM. look at your receipt. We asked before ordering the lunch combo and the server confirmed it was $17.98. We paid with tip and left wondering why the bill was an extra $7... Server stated the online price is different from dine in. If that was the case why did you tell us it was $17.98 at the table?? now I regret even leaving that tip. never again.

When to month ago. The food was decent, and I enjoyed some of the flavours, but it didn t quite meet my expectations for the price. Even we tell the service people not one time many time, they didn t take any action. The service was a bit slow, even though the restaurant wasn t too busy, and there were times we felt a little overlooked. The ambiance was nice, but overall, It was an okay experience, but I m not sure I d rush back.

Food is over priced. I did a small research about thr prices and found that this restaurant is 25%-35% over priced. Definitely not cheap. I will not bring bigger crowd to this restaurant. Even a 2 scoop of ice cream is over $10 (incl. Tax and servicecharges). There are other restaurant Ill choose in the same area next time. $$$...

We ordered the Sri Lankan Fish Combo and the Chicken Lamprais, and both dishes were packed with flavor and came with so much food that we had plenty of leftovers. Each portion could easily serve 2-3 people, making it perfect for sharing. Our server, Nisansala, was fantastic so friendly and helpful! She provided honest recommendations, which we truly appreciated. We highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic and hearty Sri Lankan cuisine. Well definitely be back!
