Must try place for Mutton Briyani, Chettinad chicken curry. Their friend rice is also good. I would give 8/10 for their special mutton briyani. Try it and you will not regret. Ambience is good. Nice staffs and good parking spots available. Vegetarian options: This place is famous for non- vegetarian, but still you can get all veg options like veg fried rice and veg starters. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for kids and the environment is kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: The place has wheel chair accessibility as well.

Good service. But food need improvement. All dishes taste same. Using some base sauce for all the curry.

The food and atmosphere was extremely good. The staff especially the server left a lot to be desired. Maybe a bit overworked but they were quick to take the order but the meals took a while to arrive. I hope it was an off day for the serving staff because the food tasted very good.

Dine in is usually very busy because of the popularity. So we prefer to order take out. Not everything on the menu is great. You have to try and visit many times to understand what items work for you and what not.

Possibly the best South Indian restaurant in GTA. We have been going here as a couple and extended family for over 15 years now. Food is still great! Update 2024 This has to be the best South Indian in town. Flavours are amazing and service from Jeya, Geetha and team are exceptional!! This is our goto spot for family meals. Will be back later this month. Update: Jeya and her team having been taking care of our family for nearly 15 years. We dined as a couple and a group of 40! Jayas service has always been exceptional! We love the various flavors and spice levels. There is truly something suitable for every palate from zero spice to fiery. This is our favourite place for family dining. Vegetarian options: Numerous veggie options! Parking: Lots of parking available! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available but lots of items on the regular menu are kid friendly!

Delicious food! Butter Chicken and naan is amazing. Also highly recommend the Chili Fish Dry. Weve been here over 10 times and the quality is very consistent!

Addicted to their mutton sukka biryani. The best biryani in Canada. Also their parotta is so good, very soft and good in size. Schezwan chicken tasted goo. Chicken 65 and chicken noodles was not too good.

Kudos to the staff I met up with my class mates from Jaffna after decades at this Restaurant. We spent many hours chatting over meal and bade good byes and departed. An hour later I did realise that I have left my handbag hanging on a chair! When we contacted the restaurant they indicated that they have found a bag and is sitting at the counter. On my way I was panicking since the bag had substantial amount of Aussie and Canadian dollars. Luckily everything was intact when I collected the bag. Staff named Kumar explained that someone has handed over the bag and he had kept in a secured place for collection. I did offer him money as a token of appreciation but he refused to take it but requested come back and dine at the restaurant again. Thank you Karaikuddi Restaurant for employing trustworthy staff. Kumars action was greatly appreciated.

We have been dining here for more than 10 years & we keep coming back. The food is always fresh & tasty. Most important is the exceptional service provided by Jaya. She is knowledgeable, professional & extremely respectful of her clients.

They have a variety of South Indian dishes as well as a few veggies and rice dishes. The dessert menu is pretty cool. Alcohol is also being served here.

We are regular customers to this restaurant. Food and service was always good. Recently we went for dinner, the food quality has dropped. The buriyani does not taste the same. Perhaps they changed the chef. The rasamalai was spoilt. When I mentioned this to the staff, she just walked away and nothing was done. I ve been in Canada for quite some time. And experienced different restaurants , so I would rate this for a two star. Because the non vegetarian foods not met the expectation of authentic chettinad cuisine. For karaikudi chettinad style biryani normally different jeeraga samba rice is used which peaks the taste to next level but over here they use basmati rice. So when ordering for briyani you just get Basamti rice with flavours + and dry gravy mix with it!

I recently dined at Karai Kudi, and unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas. To start, the service was disappointing. The staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, which led to a lack of communication about our orders. Additionally, the food did not live up to expectations. Overall, the combination of poor service and subpar food made for a frustrating dining experience. I hope they can address these issues to improve in the future.

Not worth going to this place. Food quality is not up to mark. Tried Masala Dosa and Dry Manchurian but taste was foul. When tried to complaint regarding it, they were clueless and said food is good it s all about your taste buds. They don t know meaning of hospitality. If I do have option for giving 0 stars I would have given that.

Their shrimp kothu is great. We asked for spicy and they made sure to add additional fresh chili which is what we mean when we ask for spicy. Chicken Biryani was flavourful and we enjoyed it. Cheese Naan was also good although would have wanted it more cheesy. Solid 8.5/10.

This restaurant is a South Asian staple in Scarborough. My family and I have been eating here for years. It s pleasant atmosphere has made it the site of many of our family dinners, meetings with colleagues, and celebrations. Personally, I would recommend the shrimp biryani, garlic naan, butter chicken/paneer, and paper masala dosa. The staff here are also nice.

We were 5 of us, their mutton sukka is yummy. We ordered chicken Manchurian. The dish in which they serve is smaller than the quantity so the gravy was falling on the table. Same with butter paneer masala. Jeera rice, garlic nan were good We had to wait for the ghee masala dosa and it was salty. Sadly the plate is so small the dosa touches the table.

I visited Karaikudi restaurant a couple of weeks ago with my friend and wanted to share my experience. We ordered the chicken biryani and chicken lollipops. Starting with the lollipops, the taste was acceptable but didnt quite fit the bill for what youd expect from chicken lollipops. They were more akin to chicken pakoras, being quite dry and lacking in flavor. As for the biryani, it was more like a pulao rather than a traditional biryani. On a positive note, the restaurants ambience is pleasant and the service is prompt. However, I cant give the food a five-star rating. If youre a fan of pulao, you might enjoy the offerings here, but dont go in expecting authentic biryani.

We had our 20th wedding anniversary party here this past weekend and everyone had a great time thanks to the excellent food, superb service and ambience. I have to commend the team as we had indicated several members of our party have nut allergies and they went out of their way to ensure our food was completely nut free. Maysur mashala dosa was delicious and the amount of mashala they give in Dosa is amazing. Many places just put little mashala and rest covered with Dosa.

We came here for a birthday lunch. Service was very quick and efficient. We ordered dosai, chicken biryani, butter naan, pepper chicken masala and mutton masala. The dosai was crispy with a good selection of chutney and sambar. Chicken biriyani was very tasty and had lots of meat it in. Butter naan was very good. The pepper chicken Masala and mutton masala: flavour and taste was awesome, however,there was very little meat compared to curry, and for the price, $18 and $20 WAS NOT WORTH it.

One of the best places to have authentic Chettinad style food. The food smell itself will blow you way and you would want to savour the food as soon as you enter. We were a group of families and tried the vegetarian cuisine. Noodles, roti, kotu roti / parota, dosas, idlies, veg korma and more were mind blowing. Chettinad biryani, Chicken 65, chicken lollipop were authentic. Service was too good and all the waiters going out of the way to get you the food on time. We were attended by Jeya, Gokul and their wonderful team. We are coming back for more non veg Chettinad style food. Keep up the good work, Karaikudi team! !

Foods melts like soft butter in the tongue and very tasty and felt the fresh flavour. Really fast service. Mutton Briyani, Nandu masala, fish fry are real chettinad dish.

This is our all time go to place when it comes to biriyani but this time we are highly disappointed with the taste and quality. We ordered egg biriyani which was so oily, the oil got leaked all over the package. Secondly the Mutton biriyani which was horrible, doesnt taste good, pieces are old. Lastly chicken lollipop which was less salted but its ok. We were excited for this food by everything went upside down
