The reason for the low rating was the quantity. They gave good food but our take away quantity was so low compared to other Kerala restaurants that we will not come back... Like any other Kerala restaurants veggie options are minimal.hours are different as well.
Food is not great! It’s just food typically from Kerala but nothing tastes any good! Tried several items of their menu by doing several visits. Last visit bought a Chicken Biriyani, lacked flavours, chicken was super dry and over fried just eatable if you are real hungry! There is not much of atmosphere in there to comment just a take out place but got couple chairs out! Also, with service not that great, ring the bell wait couple minutes someone comes out take orders and whoosh! Will I recommend this place to somebody? Absolutely Not! Need a place to eat Kerala Cuisine after midnight, yeah don’t have much options!
I ordered beef curry. He made me wait 30 mins and the quantity is so low. It also doesn't taste that good. Parotta seemed like it was cooked 5 days ago.
Never going back! The taste is off, non of these come with rice, doesn’t look fresh… the Chana I’m afraid to eat. Al I have is butter sauce left to eat with homemade rice .🙄
Great customer experience and great food. Tried Kappa biryani today. Awesome and it really pokes out my nostalgia. Went there without much expectation but really had a great flavourful experience. Delicious and recommended
I recently visited Kerala kitchen near and was very disappointed with the experience. The food was not fresh, which was evident from the first bite. Even after requesting a replacement, the new items were still far from fresh. This lack of quality and consistency is unacceptable. I won't be returning and would not recommend this place to others.
IF YOU EVER GO FOR A TAKEOUT, OPEN THE PACKING AND CHECK BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! Item seemed old as I had stomach issues every time I consumed it. If I skipped that item and consumed anything else , I was alright . That’s how I found out . It could be the heavy oil as well . I don’t think I will be confident enough to try these dishes or anything else in this restaurant seeing the other reviews about other dishes . I have totally tried two times and both were takeout orders. I ordered chicken roast and parotta both times . During my first time experience, I felt the chicken roast was oily but taste and quantity were good . Even the parotta was very oily . So , the second time when I visited the restaurant, I politely requested to make it less oily. They blindly gave me this dish which I have posted as pictures here. You can very well see the oil floating on it. I couldn’t do much as I had picked up and came back to only notice it after reaching home. When customers request you to do a dish in a certain way , either be honest that all your dishes would come in the same way as it is or oblige to the requests and make the changes . Instead, following such practices where you try to fool the customers without being transparent , will only bring down your reputation as a genuine business . Absolutely ridiculous to offer food this way . They do take at least 15 mins or more to hand over the packing - so my assumption is - either the dish is already prepared and then they take the time to heat it and offer it to us after a stipulated time so that we don’t think it’s reheated and made fresh OR - they are making it fresh but in the same oily style ignoring customer requests. I have a feeling that it is an old stock - not sure how the chicken items are procured and stored as well .
Take out joint for South Indian cuisine. Taste was very flavourful and unique and bold. Rice in biryani was not long grain and was breaking. Appearance and texture lacks as result but definitely a unique taste and flavourful. I can tell this was made some time ago and reheated by texture or meat. Not a bad thing at this price point. Malabar chicken was super oily and separates but has a bold taste. Really good I would recommend it. Reminds me of how my grandma use to make a curry her rendition of it. Both dishes weren’t piping hot. Seems like they were cooked ahead and reheated. My only complaint of an otherwise great meal at $21 for two dishes. Can’t beat that price point.

I recently dined at Kerala Kitchen, and I was thoroughly impressed! The dishes created by Chef Gokul and Chef Hari were absolutely outstanding. Each plate was a beautiful blend of flavors and presentation. The highlight was the Meen pollichath, which was cooked to perfection, and the pazhampori was a delightful finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the experience even better. I can t wait to return!
Tried their tea and egg puffs. Great customer service and food..
I order one fish curry and an egg puff but when I got the delivery they sent me a fish soup and the egg puff was very I throw that in the dustbin with the fear of food poisoning. Wastage of money. Never buying that food item again.

Wow this is the best parota I ve ever had! The layers are perfectly flaky and soft, just like a traditional Kerala parota should be. It s full of flavor, with that distinct Kerala touch that makes it stand out. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite. Highly recommended for anyone craving a true taste of Kerala cuisine!
Exceptional experience! I ordered both chicken and paneer biryani, and they were absolutely delicious. Even though paneer biryani wasnt on the menu, they accommodated my request at a reasonable price. The front-of-house staff provided great service, with a very friendly gentleman assisting me. I recently ordered Palak Paneer and Beef Curry, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The Palak Paneer was bitter, lacked any salt, and had a strange, unpleasant taste. It was clear that the spinach (palak) was not fresh, and the overall flavor was unappetizing. The Beef Curry was no better. The beef tasted old and stale, which led to a bout of vomiting shortly after the meal. Overall, this meal was one of the worst experiences I ve had. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying and safe meal.

Today we bought three chicken curry and it didn t had any taste of a chicken curry rather it tasted like a chana masala. Very often taste changes for majority of the dishes . This is not the first time we experience this situation. Highly not recommended

I had an incredible dining experience at Kerala kitchen! The authentic Kerala cuisine transported me to the streets of Kochi. The flavors were bold and aromatic, with each dish expertly prepared. The service was warm and attentive, making me feel like I was part of the family. Standouts included the tender and spicy Kappa biriyani, the rich and creamy chicken curry. Dont miss the pothichoru. 5 stars and cant wait to return!

Worst kizhi porotta I ever had
We order fish pollichathu, it was really bad, the fish was not fresh , there was a really weird smell while eating, we found pieces of chicken in the gravy which we realised its the gravy of chicken roast in the fish. Completely disappointed would not recommend.
I finish a tiring shift at a gas station and come to this restaurant to get take out. I am not only treated by respect, but the staff and chef are incredibly kind and cater to customers needs. I am deeply satisfied with this place and recommend this joint to any Indians who enjoy authentic Indian food. I had the porotta and egg roast combo it was so tasty. The egg roast was especially rich and spicy in flavour and I do really recommend this combo.

I am utterly disappointed with Kerala Kitchen in Scarborough. This is not the first time theyve messed up my takeout order. Despite clearly stating my order for 5 parathas and 4 chicken puffs, I received only 1 chicken puff. This negligence is unacceptable, especially when its a recurring issue. Its incredibly frustrating to pay for items that never make it into my order. I urge others to be cautious when placing phone orders with this restaurant, as they seem incapable of fulfilling them accurately. Save yourself the hassle.
I am really upset for what i got today. I bought 2 chicken puffs and 1 chicken biriyani.The puffs i got was chicken gravy puffs i didnt get a single bite of chicken . I was eagerly waiting for the chicken piece. I should have ordered egg puffs , because they cant take egg from my puffs .Next i will describe about biryani. I have never seen biriyani with deep fried chicken( no gravy at all). I couldnt even chew the chicken piece ,that was so hard.Anyway please try to improve it. We are giving the money you asked.
I don t understand. I felt lost. It was just like empty inside? No menu? I was looking for some Chicken Biryani and got excited that we have a walking-distance Indian food place now but I didn t know what they had nor get any way of knowing what the serve. I just asked about the stuff displayed in the display shelf, the baklava and other fried stuff. Just not very inviting.

We orderd Neychor and Chicken from Kerala Kitchen last week.To be honest ot was really nice.Everyone liked the food very much.We will definitely order for the next party.
I ordered a buy one get one chicken biriyani through. When I opened the container first its smell was very bad. Then found a hair inside. Food was spoiled and there were several black dots in that and it smelled really bad. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Their taste is worse and their quality is worser.

- Old Porotta heated and packed. Tastes like soggy bread. Ordered 6 ones and got 4 full breads (Porotta) and two half breads. - Butter chicken was watery and had barely any chickens in it. - on top of this, the guy at the counter was super rude. Never again.

Yesterday tried Chicken Briyani and Chicken Roast, its was awesome. The quantity of both briyani and roast was more than enough for a meal. One thing that need to mention here is there customer service, its awesome. Moreover the food quality its also great.

I used to get the best biryani in Scarborough from here. However, yesterday, what I got was frozen biryani rice with some kind of chicken curry. If you guys run out of biryani, please stop selling it; dont deceive others.

i got porotta, Beef roast, chicken dry fry. Porotta was thick af. I probably needed something sharp to break it into small pieces. Beef roast was salty, not cooked well. Not tasty at all. Dry fry was small 6 pieces, just like chicken McNuggets, And half cooked. What the hell guys. I paid more than 40CAD for some bullfuckery. Today morning my stomach is upset because of half cooked foods i ate. What the hell guys. I understand the how hard it can be to run a business, but there s a minimum requirement of standard you gotta keep. Be better. Thanks
