Sorry, but meh. There are better Indian food restaurants in Toronto. Really geared to take-out food. Only 2 tables in an austere setting so not designed for a dine-in experience. The mutton in that briyani was dried out and tough, otherwise, the rice tasted fine. The chicken kothu parotta was tasty, while the sambar vadai was bland in flavour. They offered a choice of mild or spicy for their dishes. Price was good value with well sized servings. This was cheaper than McDonalds for the same amount of food. That said, Ive had better tasting Indian food elsewhere.

Best parrota/roti in scarborough

We went to this shop during our trip. First day we had various snacks like dhal vada, medu vada, chilli bajji, onion bond etc,, and everything tastes so good and it is tamilnadu authentic second day we had dosas and third day we had parottas everything is so authentic like our exact Tamil Nadu parottas so soft beautiful thing is they maintain the consistency ..cost of items also very reasonable

The restaurant has very limited seating and cleanliness is questionable. They have a cooktop just across the washroom door which makes you wonder. The floor had dropped food as well. There is extremely limited seating. The weekend special was very ordinary and overly spicy.

Please make sure check the foods before you serve.i had a chicken Briyani.but the chicken got bad smell and spoiled.i came hungry to your shop because one of my friend recommended your Briyani. Even though I didn t eat but i paid.

I visited Paandian Vilas at 7:10 AM, even though they opened at 7:30, and to my surprise, they still took my order. The staff went above and beyond to prepare my first coffee of the day, which was a fantastic start. The warm welcome and friendly service made my morning even brighter. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered some non-vegetarian meals for the weekend and was really let down. Honestly, the 65 was filled with thick, crunchy lumps of batter, and I barely found two small pieces of chicken in there. It felt like a total scam. I was also disappointed with the thali, which came wrapped in a banana leaf. It had all the gravies chicken, egg, fish, and nethili just piled on top of a bed of rice, like they just cooked the rice and threw everything together. The fish had a strong smell and wasn t cleaned properly. I can t recommend this place at all. It s a scam disguised as an authentic South Indian restaurant, and the customer service was really lacking.

The place has only two or three tables.. so check if place is there before you go.. dont know about the food

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Hotel Pandiya Vilas, trying Chilli Parota, Mutton and Chicken Biryani, kalaki , egg kothu , Ice Cream, and Mutton Sukka. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Our servers, Kiran and Rudhran, were very attentive and made our visit pleasant. Highly recommended!

I have been a regular here. A few months ago while grocery shopping I serendipitously stumbled upon this restaurant. That was the first day that the new management took over and they were just opening to test the water. From then onwards I have been one of their loyal customers. By far I have eaten almost in all places in and around Scarborough and I confidently say that Pandiyan Villas is one of the best restaurants in Scarborough. Very friendly and helpful staff. Both the service crew and the kitchen crew are so friendly and helpful. I feel like home when I am here. I try to visit this place as often as I can. I have tried almost all items on their menu. The food here is simply splendid. Its a must go restaurant. If you have not tried it yet, stop whatever you are doing and get here. If you have already tried it once then you need no convincing. This is one of those places that touch my heart.

Two of us went in hoping to dine in, but they have only 2 tables which were occupied so we decided to take out a breakfast special, a mutton and chicken roll, a dal vada and a chicken kottu parota. The breakfast special: They forgot to give me the tea which comes with the breakfast special. The chutney and sambar is diluted so much that you barely taste the flavor. The dosa, idlis and medu vada taste decent but are really dry. The Chicken Kottu Parota (mild spicy): good portion size but the flavor is bland. The Chicken & Mutton Roll: Both rolls dough was chewy and undercooked. The flavor is good but there is barely any meat in it. Chicken roll tastes better that the mutton roll. The place doesnt really have an atmosphere and is more like other south Indian takeout joints in Scarborough. The service is slow even though there were just 6 people in the place. The person taking the order didnt give me a receipt nor asked if I wanted one. In conclusion, the prices are low for a reason, so you get what you pay for or less (the missing tea!!!). The place is over-hyped on social media and definitely doesnt deserve the attention.

Never believe Instagram reels and go for a restaurant. This restaurant was exact opposite that was showed in reels.. Ordered kotthu parotta, mutton chukka, chicken fried rice and Chicken biryani. Kotthu parotta was hard to chew.. Parotta was old and not fresh. Chicken 65 in fried rice was so hard like rubber and it was black inside.. we returned it telling it was bad and they replied this is how they server regularly. Chicken biryani was tasting like tomato rice. Mutton chukka was so hard to chew and it was very salty. Over all waste of money. Never believe these food vloggers or influencers. We went from Toronto to try this restaurant and it was total waste of money and time

I recently visited Paandian Vilas and had a fantastic experience. The fish rice was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was a memorable meal in a pleasant and inviting atmosphere.

Chicken Biryani and Parotta must try

This place serves comfort food. The food is delicious and affordable. We ordered the breakfast platter which included two idli, one dosa, 1 dal vada chutney and sambhar all for $5. I also tried their Mysore masala dosa. Amazing food for amazing price. This will be my regular spot for sure.

Pandian Vilas serves up biriyani that instantly took me back to my college days in Chennai. The flavors were spot-on, just like the street-side biriyani I loved rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. Portions were generous, and the pricing was surprisingly affordable. I also tried their porotta and mutton curry combo, which was equally delightful. We discovered Pandian Vilas on Instagram and decided to try it out for our annual get-together. The restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. The chicken rice was mouthwateringly amazing, and the fish curry was irresistibly delicious. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel like valued guests. We thoroughly enjoyed and left with full hearts and happy bellies. Highly recommended! Pandian Vilas has earned a special place in our hearts, and we cant wait to return.

Went after watching Instagram reels. Pros: Food taste is good Food Quality & quantity is good Cons: Limited space to seat, felt uncomfortable to see people standing beside you waiting to be seated after. Food served was not hot, we ordered virunthu sappadu. Service could be better

Food smels so bad

Food was just edible. However way too much spice on food. Short-eats were icy cold. Customer service was very bad. No cutleries were provided until asked. Even though having good manpower, no proper management. During billing, they didn t even know the things I ordered. I had to point out each items. Will never be coming back and won t recommend to anyone. Waste of time and money.

Furthermore, I observed that the staff in the front of the house could enhance their service by implementing a more structured approach to handling takeout orders. Collecting necessary details such as names and contact numbers would ensure a smoother and more efficient process for patrons ordering takeout. With these constructive changes, Paandian Vilas has the potential to elevate their already impressive offerings and provide an even more enjoyable dining experience for their customers.

Appalam size was just one broken piece kept in the Thali. Brown rice quality was awful. Are you going to make profit by cutting down cost on these basic things in a thali. Taste was below average. Specially kottu

The food was delicious, on how the cook made it, from their cultural background. The food portions were very big. It s very spicy of some of the food ( if you love the spicy food) and affordable on pricing from reading the menu at the restaurant. The staff were friendly and some did gave advice to new customers to their needs. On The service I had wasn t too satisfied, I got two servers that day based on the performance I dealt with. The first Server performance. She didn t look properly trained to handle the very job well. Based on communication, no knowledge about the work environment and didn t care for working at the restaurant. Stayed quiet the whole entire time until we re ready to eat. She did look very confused and very nervous to speak with people about the food you guys severed at the restaurant. She wasn t very nice on the tone she gave to sell herself for speaking with customers. Also, should handle it better. The second Server, he knew his job very well and has the ability to run a restaurant to Any questions and qualities to help make the best experience happen to get the job done. His very respectful to customers and making them feel comfortable to a new environment and easy to talk too. Overall, it s a nice and very appealing based on the arrangements to the restaurant.

As someone who craves South Indian food on the regular I was stoked to find this place. The chicken was a little under cooked in the Biriyani I ordered but the overall flavour of the dish tasted excellent. Samosas were lovely, their chutney is unique to other places Ive tried, loved it. Thank you also for the complimentary raita with my dish. My feedback for the cooks is to take their time to make sure that meat is cooked, if your food is that good people will wait for good food cooked properly

Update: The Biriyani quality went low after just a week. Had to remove two stars and stopped ordering from here after ordering at least five times in 10 days. Wished they were consistent. visited this place before a year and a half when it used to be in a different name, we didnt like the food and never visited the place again. We gave this place a try again after they revamped the place (new management probably). The two times we had the food from here (chicken biryani, veg meals and plain biryani), the food was excellent and tasted good, and the place was very clean. The price for dine-in was affordable Hopefully they maintain this same quality going forward.

Me and my girlfriend had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant on April 30th 2024. I was very pleased by how friendly the staff was. The first item we tried was the veggie samosa and the onion pakora which were both amazing! The samosa had a crispy taste on the outside and on the inside was soft and hot and tasted amazing! The onion pakora was also very crunchy and tasted great. The fried rice was also very hot and steamy and fresh and tasted great with soft tender meat. However, for people not used to South Indian/Desi food, the food would be very very spicy to handle. The next food item I tried was called the Pandias Villas with King Fish (it was a bowl of rice with fish curry, fried potato, dal, kale, all served together). To be honest the fish curry was great and so was the fried potato, but the dal tasted cold and slightly stale. However, overall the food was very good and I would give it 8.5/10 rating. In regards to the service I really like how the staff member Tharsan/Darshan was kind enough to exchange the fried rice (which was spicy) to fried rice made without spice free of additional cost! So service to me was a 10/10 because of that. Highly recommended place to eat! I recently enjoyed Kizhi Parotta, which was perfectly flaky and flavorful, and Chicken Fried Rice, which had a delightful blend of spices and tender chicken. The food is not fresh. They are serving the reheated Briyani so the chicken was tough. The Chicken 65 had too much masala and too much food colouring looked unappetizing. Overall, the flavors were very subtle and tasteless and it didn t taste like a South Indian cuisine.

I and my family visit Toronto a few times a year. We love to explore food and have been to many South Indian restaurants. To personally quote PAANDIAN VILAS has touched our hearts. The Parota Salna , Chicken and mutton kizhi parota, PAANDIAN virunthu sappadu is so freshly cooked and delicious. The welcoming hospitality, clean and hygienic dine in is highly appreciated. I highly recommended this restaurant for people who love tasty, authentic South Indian food.

I had the Vegetarian Thali here twice and it was awesome on both visits. Few of the curries did change on my 2nd visit which was a delightful surprise. All the curries tasted pretty good, authentic South Indian style. The meal consists of 5-7 curries, Rice, yogurt and Papad. Sorry forgot to take pics.

Overall a pretty good place for casual eating. Waiting time for me was on little bit of higher end. Would recommend though.

The worst place and service. We drove 40 kms to eat here where they only had 2 tables. What a joke. When we called them they said to just come (there won t be any seating issues). But when we go there, they tell us there is a wait for 1+ hour. This place is a joke in terms of food, atmosphere and service. Zero stars! Imagine driving 45 mins with a 5 month old baby to only be disappointed.

My friend took me here once and Im addicted to this place since then. Its a small and absolutely authentic Tamilnadu food take out place. The taste takes you back straight to roadside food and taste of Tamilnadu. Absolutely love it!
