Sushi Legend offers a solid sushi experience. The fish was fresh, and the presentation was appealing, which made for an enjoyable meal. Sushi Legend has 2 locations in total. The AYCE pricing includes UNLIMITED DRINKS (soda). You have to order your drinks with the waiter or waitress. Sitting is limited to 2 hours max. Last call is 15 minutes prior. Order through a Tablet or through one’s phone via QR Code. Tablet is easy to use. Pay cash get 5% off, if not pay with a credit or debit card. They have a self serve dessert station with soft serve ice cream, small dessert cups like tiramisu and black jelly, and sweet soup. They also have a self serve appetizer table with steamed shrimps and seaweed. Dishes are brought to the table. If you have a large group of people, you will be sitting in a long bench style table. It’s hard to come and go as the access points are limited to one side of the table only. Biggest beef is when one’s food ordered are dropped at other end of the table. There’s lots of parking in the plaza but during peak periods, it’s hard to find one nearby unless you choose one on the other side of the plaza. It’s located beside Dollarama. There’s disabled parking in-front of the restaurant but it’s always full. There’s a EV charging station near this restaurant for those with EV cars. No complaints with the food. It’s consistent. Servers are very busy here as they are constantly bringing food to the table and putting away the empty plates.
Affordable AYCE Sushi with huge variations menu. As a family with newborn, I love that they have space for stroller & tons of high chair. The service is quick, all the dishes come out with the right quantites we order Food was ok. Not too impressed, I think its acceptable for the price This place is packed with people by dinner so I highly recommend book table in advance Overall experience: 8/10
Taking out a star due to inconsistencies in the way they cook and prepare the hot dishes and rolls. Sometimes the rolls aren't packed well and just crumbles. The steaks are sometimes gummy or not cooked well. A lot of options especially on dinner menu. Dynamite rolls are one of my go-tos here. Huge salmon roses (could do with less rice though). QR code ordering is fast and efficient. Salad, soups, and desserts are buffet-style. There's a soft-serve machine and the soybean-flavoured ice cream is yummy. Why oh why did you add spicy mayo to the legendary rock shrimp?? It was fine as it was :-( Limit of 1.5hrs seating time during weekends when it's super busy (they do enforce this as necessary only).
The food wasn't bad but not amazing either. Skip the bbq type rolls since they add liquid smoke to it and I find that disgusting. The mushrooms and okra were my favorite vegetables. The raw fish seemed fresh but the selection was minimal. Didn’t have tuna. The fried/grilled fish was good, which reminded me of salted Korean mackeral. The soups were kind of bland. The crab and sharkfin soup was too thick (too much corn starch). The overall selection was good as they had cooked and vegetarian options too. The food came out Hella quick, so there is no need to order a lot at a time, but since the service was like a well-oiled machine, the service wasn't personable. You order via an app from a QR code they provide, which I liked since I don't have to touch a dirty menu. I think the place is priced right. The atmosphere was actually amazing for an all you can eat joint. All in all, I'd come back if I'm in the mood for sushi and then some and somewhere quick and cheap.
Went here on a little date and it was a nice & relaxed atmosphere. The food was very yummy and portions were a comfortable. For a Sunday night dinner for two, it cost a bit over $100 with tip and that includes a pop/soda Right when you walk in, there will be a pot of green tea on the table. For the menu you scan a QR code on your phone.
Usually this place is a 4 star, and on a great day they can pull off a five star meal. I have eaten here many times and left completely satisfied. But not yesterday, the salmon steaks which are one of my favorites, was terrible!! And usually the desserts are just as good as the meal, however, yesterday the creme brulee, was terrible as well. Which was surprising as well, because they are one of my favorites too. Other than that, everything else was really good. There is lots of parking here, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I really wish I could give a 5 star, rating to this place, but I was too disappointed with yesterdays meal. At $44 per person, the salmon should have been better. The restaurant was clean, as it usually is, and so was the washrooms. You order through your phone and a QR code, its fast, and easy. They still have a few tablets for those who don't or can not use the QR system. This is usually one of the better ALL YOU CAN EAT, places.
It does the job. Me and my family and friends come here and never leave disappointed. Dont expect anything near a authentic Japanese Omakase experience. Expect to order whatever you like, whenever you like, and anything you like! Brings me back to the good ole high school days with friends where meals like this were a common occurrence. Come in empty, leave happy and full!

It took us 1.5hrs to have lunch and we all left hungry they forgot to bring us many of the dishes we ordered
Not worth it!! The ordering iPad was sticky and dirty, making me feel like I have to wash my hands each time after placing an order. Table was also sticky. I ordered beef Tataki 6 times before they brought one order, they also didn t bring half the sashimi that was ordered. The self serve salad/soup/dessert bar was missing 25-30% of the items at all times. It was really frustrating and unpleasant experience all around.
Horrible place. Walked in with my sister and her kid. He is 10 and 147 cm tall. Rude woman at the counter asked table for 4 we said yes. Then she asked him how old are you? He said 10 she said really? ? And we said yes what is the issue with that. She rolled her eyes and said show ID. At this point my sister said since when kids have ID. She then said show some health card. Who goes to a restaurant with their kids health card? It is not a hospital. I told my sister forget it she is extremely rude we are not giving our business to them. My sister asked for the manager. The male manager came and all he said was Im sorry. Not even come inside let me make it up to you. This was our third time going to this location but NEVER again!!!!!!

Went on a weekend for lunch. Tried to order the bento boxes but we were then told they dont do be to boxes on the weekend. Didnt state anywhere on the menu that they dont do bento boxes on weekends. Only said 1130am to 430pm. They should put it on the menu if they dont do bento boxes on weekends.
Made a reservation but still had to wait over 40 mins for a table. Staff are rude. Lack of customer service

Best sushi place
I have been to this store about a dozen times. But the last few times I have found that the food is getting worse and worse. The waiter had a very bad attitude last time. We spend money to have fun and eat. It s not just to be angry, I won t come again in the future.
Been coming here at least 6 times a year. Today it was absolutely the worst. Food was very bad. We had to send back the beef short ribs, the garlic beef, even the salmon sashimi looked and tasted horrible. Not sure what has happened.. if the management had changed or if theyve started using low quality food ingredients

We have been here almost every weekend for at least 8-9 years. Every time we are treated like at home. The food comes fast and fresh, and the service is fantastic. The most important thing is, the staff are all great and professional. Especially Leila, she always brings kids joy and laugh. Comparing to the other location or other sushi AYCE, this one is the best!

I am sad to say this used to be the favorite spot of myself and friends but no longer. The quality of the food is going downhill in last two years and the service has become absolutely abysmal. I typically would come to sushi legend six times a year or more with friends but have had too many bad experiences with service on my last few visits. The waiters and waitresses toss food onto the table as if it were garbage going into the bin. If you try and talk to them they ignore you like you dont exist. On my last visit as we were eating our desserts a waiter snatched our glasses off the table and took them away. Didnt ask if we wanted refill just grabbed them and left. Mind you we were only there at that time 45 mins or so. He then rudely came back and asked if we were done while we were still eating dessert. This kind of behaviour is shocking and common with them now and it never used to be. They act like the customer is a problem. The quality also is gone the fish used to be good but now seems cheap and looks as if it has sat out at room temperature for to long the flesh of the fish going translucent. The rolls fall apart on the plate as they are never roles properly anymore. To top it off they continue to raise prices while services decline. This place is just awful now and it is the rude staff that have ruined it. They are never busy like they used to be two years ago and with the above mentioned you can see why.
Sushi Legend used to be a go-to for me and friends/family. We would go multiple times a year as their food was great and the atmosphere was welcoming. Things have changed quite drastically. First and foremost the service is awful. The staff barely speak or look at you, they practically toss the food on to the tables with little to no regard. Good luck trying to get a refill for your drink or a mere napkin. Food quality has gone downhill, old fish, poorly wrapped rolls of any kind. Its such a shame to see a staple restaurant change for the worse.
Great sushi for the price considering its AYCE.
A far cry from its heyday when they first opened years ago. The sushi went from acceptable to poor, with sushi pieces literally falling apart when you pick them up and the rice being food court quality bad. The sashimi was lukewarm and thinly sliced, hardly felt fresh. The grilled selection was utterly tasteless and bland, almost as if they forgot to add seasoning. The Ramen? It was more like Shanghai style noodles plopped in soup. The saving grace was the food arrived quickly and the staff are quite helpful with questions and taking care of plates. Will I be coming back? Not until the food quality drastically improves. Plenty of sushi alternatives in Markham and Scarborough area.

Quality of Sushi Legend has gone up since my last visit a few years ago. Sashimi was fresh, hot food came out quick, options were plentiful and soda was included in the price. Would recommend for anyone looking for AYCE in the area.
We had a family party at Sushi Legend Commander Blvd in Scarborough yesterday. It was just excellent! The food came on time, it was hot fresh and flavorful. The staff who arranged, coordinated, facilitated and served us were outstanding. All of our important details were executed perfectly! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our dinner celebration, we will definitely be back. Henry, Leila, Michael and Kevin and supporting cast, thank you very much for your hospitality and excellent service!
Food was good. Atmosphere was good. However when we arrived, we were told the price per person was $3 more PER PERSON than what the website stated. We are a family of 4, so that is $12 plus tax more than what we expected to pay. Their excuse? We lost the password to the website to change the prices. Cheaters.
PREPPY PLACE and the food is really preppy and good and the washrooms are also clean but theres literally too many scary people talking and it is just like those chinese restaurants with those scary people talking

We went as party of four, it was the lunch menu. I was surprised as it was not too many choices. It was fairly busy and parking was pretty busy as well. Sushi rolls were ok but nothing special. Whole fish was good. They had salad and dessert bar. The salad was just Garden salad with iceberg lettuce, one bowl and that was it for the whole entire place. Few different deserts in the cup and soft served ice cream that was pretty good. Would I recommend it? I can say maybe. But there are lots of better places.
A bit pricy. Was 94 dollars for 2 people. They didnt have much options as other sushi places we have been to especially for that price u would expect a lot more variety. Food was alright not the greatest. But the service was good. Probably wont be visiting again
Great place. Went around 5:30pm on a weekend and didnt have to wait for a table. It got really full quickly though after 6pm. Service was mediocre but food was great.

Weve been coming here for nearly a decade, and its our Go-To for sushi whenever were in North Scarborough, especially for pick-up orders!
I came here to celebrate my birthday with my friends which was only 3 people for ayce at dinner around 4pm ish, The food was great and the place was clean too. Other employees were also nice and great but there was one employee that was a girl who speaks Cantonese because I understand both mandarin and Cantonese, she asked me for tips after I paid when it s customary/not mandatory in Canada, The employee didn t even let me see the original receipt and just wanted me to pay. Also for one the order I had was the sweet potato roll there was a hair in there that we didn t get to finish in the end.
First time coming to this place. The decor is bright, spacious and nice. The food was decent. Rolls were made with super soggy rice. The fish was decent but they cut it small. The worst part about this restaurant is the service. Getting the attention of a waiter/waitress takes a while. The staff rudely drops food onto the table and literally jam it anywheres that convenient for them, not even paying attention to overlapping and damaging the customers personal property. And to top it off, we asked for the bill over 4 seperate occasions with no action taken. I do not recommend this place.
Ordered something and waited half hours to get our cheif is clearing up kitchen, only one of them is cooking after we ask. They never told us in advance so we could order more to eat. This half hour was counted in to dining time, and they asked for atleast 10% tip for this? Im not even asking you for my 1/4 time back. Dont eat here if sushi is your whole life

I remember the last time I went to a sushi buffet was at another one a few months ago. In comparison, the environment of this branch is particularly comfortable, hygienic and clean, and the restrooms are also very clean! It is worth recommending the herring sashimi, which is more delicious than salmon sashimi and crispy! And the desserts are all-inclusive

Ordered 2 party trays from Chartwell Shopping Centre location for a party. The sushi rolls were soggy and loosely rolled. Rice was super soft and would better be used as glue. Most of the sushi broke apart while being picked. Embarassing. One of the worst sushi ever. This is the first try and there will be no second, unless all other sushi restaurants closed down.
Hands down the best AYCE sushi place in the GTA. Current price is around $48 after tax per person on weekend and evenings. Cheeper at other times. Price includes soda, ordering is straight from the pad. The selection isnt as expensive as some places, but everything thats on there is pretty solid. Only thing I would avoid is the quail--very dry. The salmon sashimi is insanely fresh and everything comes to the table within 5 minutes of ordering, although usually much much quicker. This is owned by the Congee Queen group so you know the quality is legitimate, although some Congee Queen locations are very inconsistent.

Garbage among garbage, I have never eaten such bad takeout sushi. None of the four types of fish is fresh. It s the first time for so many of us to see so much cucumber sushi, @@! The scene was shocking. Make it a party tray and none of them are delicious. I won t eat it even if I don t send it back!

Has to be one of the fastest AYCE places. From the time you submit your order to when you start getting your food is barely 5 minutes, not only is it fast but you actually get the quantity that you order unlike some other places where you have order more to get what you want. This is very important to know so you dont order too much. The staff is also generally quite good, they usually get back to you with your requests petty quickly given how busy it is. Quality of food is above average, nothing special. some of the items/portions are much smaller than other places, however it doesnt really matter since its AYCE and you can just order more

Good quality food, but beef short ribs too chewy
Came here last month. Sashimi were fresh and in standard portion. All other food are good as expected except steamed scallop. All orders were quickly delivered and no cut off. Great staff services!
I never leave bad reviews but have to this time. We used to love coming here. The food is delicious and this was always our go to for special ocassions and we never had any complaints before. Today we literally had to walk away after the host, Leila, argued over our table, not explaining and just shaking her head and speaking over us and our food, infront of our children -completely catching us off guard. We lost our appetite and just walked out- we have never experienced something like this at any restaurant. It was so unpleasant and this Leila person has made, what was one of our favourite restaurants, a place we are never going back to. All this over what was an eat all your rice misunderstanding that another very kind and respectful server was able to clarify for us. I have worked in the hospitality and restaurant industry and people with bad attitude should not be a host nor serving people if they lack etiquette and communication skills.

probably one of the best AYCE sushi for a good price! the only thing was ... the sashimi was kinda mid and i feel like it wasnt good quality sashimi. however, the sake + butter clams? i think theyre called? were really good and yummy. i also enjoyed their pressed salmon rolls and their beef stuff menu items are also really good.

Nice place, lots of tables and very high ceilings. Nice decor. Lots of options on the menu and very nice wait staff. This place actually gets you what you ordered on the tablet. Gives you a 2 hr window to eat and theyre not intrusive. Theres a cash discount and senior (65) pricing. Enjoyed our dinner experience here and will definitely go back. June 2024 update: went to dinner on a Friday for AYCE, $41.95 for adults, $35.95 for seniors 65 and up. 5% discount if you pay by cash. Food comes quickly and they clear dishes off quickly as well. Just a bit noisy but otherwise nice because they have a lot of booths. Parking: Its inside the Chartwell plaza by the grocery store side.

Ordered take out. Despite the lineup, everything was smooth. The sushi was good, and there was nothing to write home about. All in all, I would recommend this spot.
They demanded a tip. Even though they were rushing us to finish because they were closing. FIRST TIME I heard in my life saying oh theres no tip, please can you put in the tip then proceeds to charge me twice on my card. WE WERE ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED!!! Food was ok so gave a 2 star.

It was my FIRST TIME and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with the service. I wasnt even rude to the server. Why are you rude to me, I just wanted to eat my lunch and get my desserts. And the ginger ale you gave me at the end tasted different. I hope you didnt put anything in it because the 1st you gave me tasted like ginger but the 2nd is like bitter something. Really sad because I was with family too
The food was alright. The chicken skewers take a long time to prepare, and sometimes they forget your order, so then you need to reorder it and it wastes a lot of time. The desserts were not great and I cannot reccomend them.

We just ordered $130 worth of take out from this restaurant and was quite disappointed with the experience. The portion sizes were surprisingly small, leaving me in disbelief. The salmon was the size of my pinky. Additionally, our salads did not come with dressing. I hope the restaurant can address these issues to improve the overall dining experience.
A great place for AYCE, including drinks. The staff were very attentive and overall service was great. We opted for the lunch menu, tempura and beef short ribs were really good. We loved the dessert portion size and everyone got to taste their fav.

Great selection of food and using the tablet to order directly is efficient and easy. The waitress was very helpful. The egg custard was overdone and the ice cream was not of good quality, all other items we ordered were good.

The food is very good, but the waiter is a bit bad. I just asked her if I didn t know, but she seemed like you should know, and she didn t reply in a good tone. I tipped because of the hard work of the chefs. If it were a waiter, I wouldn t give a tip.

Then she tries scamming my friend for his $5 if change and claims shes going to check cctv to prove him wrong, she comes back claiming she couldnt find it and gave him $5 anyways knowing damn well she tried to scam him, then she has the audacity to start pointing at our table claiming we left no tips after she tried scamming us. She needs to be held accountable.
Original price was 29 pp but the server was insistent on charging our group $33. After that the server tried to scam my friend out of five dollars claiming that she already gave the five. After checking cctv it was proven that she didn t give the five. Is you want to get scammed come here.
Sushi legend near my home offers delightful fresh sushi options, including all-you-can-eat. Their dynamite rolls and fresh salmon sashimi are superb. Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere make it a top choice
Food is always good. The service is good or bad depending on where you sit. Our last visit we struggled to get service and had empty drinks for most of the meal. The restaurant wasnt too busy either. Overall good food mediocre service.

Will likely improve this review once I go, but called just now to confirm if they actually do AYCE for lunch (AYCE menu confused me), and they hung up on me. I found out through reviews that they still offer AYCE lunch, but come on just say yes on the phone, I didnt waste that much of your time.
Tried the place for the first time and it was great! The QR code made it easy to order and the food came fast and fresh. Unlimited soda was also included in the price so it was a nice addition.
Where do I start. This place is absolutely amazing. We went in on a Tuesday evening for the AYCE menu, which was $39+tax. The staff was very friendly, attentive and efficient. We really didnt wait long at all every time we placed an order. The menu is extensive with some really premium items. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant is clean. I highly recommend Sushi Legend!!
