Sushi was fresh and tasty. Prices are affordable. I do feel that rolls could be a bit bigger in size but regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed it
The food was delicious!! We got the lunch menu to try and the sushi was so fresh, the food portions were bigger than we expected for only a $10 meal! The staff is friendly and the store is a nice, bright environment. I live close and will definitely be coming back here!
good food always, BUT unfortunately always an issue with them providing soy sauce for the sushi. EACH ROLL SHOULD COME WITH A SOY SAUCE. No one wants to share. People do not to share soy sauce trays when they eat at the restaurant. Ordered 4 rolls and got only 1 soy sauce to dip all the 32 pieces of the rolls. And when asked to send atleast a soy sauce for each roll... they will charge you extra for it. why should i pay for extra soy sauce when i should at least get 1 for each roll i order? we were 4 people with 1 roll each of us, but just 1 sauce to share. It's a request to please be better with service of the sauce. Please.
First time ordering. We got Bento chicken teriyaki for 3x people for takeout as we fly out to Japan tomorrow. The sushi quality and quantity was good. It came with Sashimi, Sushi rolls, Miso Soup, Salad, and chicken teriyaki for $21 tax in. The owners are very nice. Definitely will come back and support Ume Sushi who has been in the Birchcliff community near a decade!
Been going here for about 10 yrs (since I was in high school) and the food is always yummy! Theyre also always friendly to me and the prices are great. Recommend!
The portions are way too small for what they’re charging. I paid $30 for this combo. Really? It doesn’t feed one person even. Taste is ok though.
The sushi is insanely small. They charged 26$ for this. The presentation is not half bad but the quality of the food is terrible. The sushi rolls are also not that tightly packed so they kind of collapse while you try to eat them. The salad is subpar as well. Try a place called Ikki Sushi on kingston.
There are not a lot of sushi options in the area, so I decided to give this place a try. I went there for lunch, and they have a good selection of sushi and lunch combos with decent prices. The service was fast even though they made the rolls right then. I ordered cooked maki and it was good (better than I expected based on reviews!) But the ginger didn't look so fresh and smelled funny so I avoided that. The ambiance is okay (but not very exciting), I wish the owner would make some changes to the inside/outside decor to make it more welcoming.

i thoroughly enjoyed the food from here! happy to have visited this little spot from a friend s reco :) we ordered food for 2 and spent $50 - appreciated the clean presentation for takeout. thought it was all very tasty, incl the special roll with mango topping, YUM! also liked the ratio of rice to filling of their rolls (not too much rice). i dont really get the complaints about price.. if u want value food, dont get sushi (or consider alternatives like end of day sale stuff bc the stuff from here wasnt that). if u didnt know what u were getting, that s on u because ALL menu items are priced and most even have a picture on their website. will be back for sure and looking forward to trying some of their other items!
Very small hidden takeout restaurant. The quality is good for the price. In fact I was surprised to still see rolls being sold for $8. If you re In the east end I think this is a great option for takeout and it doesn t break the bank.

May not be such a pretty place but the food is perfect. Order from here very regularly and they re always consistent. Highly recommend the spicy tuna (I m always craving it)
Probably the worst sushi I ve ever had. Tuna was not real tuna, dumplings looked like they were cooked last week.

Really like their crabmeat cheese wontons, sushi however were mediocre.
Ordered UberEats to a park and they didnt provide chopsticks. Now we are stuck eating our sushi with fingers

The dirtiest restaurant I have ever seen. Never again. The food is disgusting and the service is terrible. The place is a total dump. I dont understand why their food service license hasnt been revoked yet.
Wish I had seen these reviews instead of looking at the Uber Eats star-rating. I had Ume Fashion last night and Im still feeling it. It doing a number on my stomach. The eating experience itself was not satisfying at all. Messy, ugly, and the consistency was gross. I still craved sushi afterwards because this was not sushi. And Im not a picky eater, at all.
I came across this restaurant on Uber Eats and I ordered Deluxe Sashimi set. The fish slices are fat and fresh. Portion is good too. I enjoyed my meal.
The establishment is dirty. My sushi was wet with I dont know what, discoloured and cut very lazily. They packaged hot food and raw sushi in the same container. Im worried about food poisoning. My yam tempura was raw. Wish I saw the reviews here before ordering. Overall bad experience and food hygiene.

I decided to try a local sushi place - what a mistake. The sushi was actually inedible and I was afraid to eat it. I ordered sushi pizza which the rice bed was undercooked and it was slathered in mayonnaise. The rolls looked and smelled awful. I threw out the entire $70 order
It tastes decent but there s a lot of filler going on here. You can tell from the spicy tuna rolls that there really isn t much tuna in it. Most of the fish rolls feel kinda cheap in my opinion.
Terrible sushi. Sashimi isnt the freshest and their kitchen cleanliness is sketchy at best.
Best rolls I have ever had. Unique filling inside the rolls, yummy. Also, very presentable looking on their food especially green dynamite roll, dancing angel roll and ume roll. Taste so good!

Sushi is now terrible. It used to be amazing when it was only around $5 now its $7+ which is not worth it. I would recommend the pizza shop right beside it cause there you get 2 large pizza slices and a coke, Horrible sushi.

We ordered through Just Eat last night for the first time and all agreed that it was great:) We loved the Sushi and side of vegetables. It arrived in half the time it said it would which was great because we were running late for something else and that gave us lots of time to eat, so thanks:)

Ordered Delivery. $102. Quoted 60 Minutes for an order, Called at just over 100 minutes of waiting, told another 20 minutes. Said no thanks please cancel. Sorry but Im not waiting 2 hours for dinner and being okay with a simple sorry on the phone. Yet 20 Minutes later a guy still shows up with the food and expect me to purchase it, then gets grumpy when I say its over an hour late and I called to say please cancel my order. We normally order from here at least once a month. Probably not going to again.
This is the worst sushi I have ever had. The dragon roll shrimps were fried in oil that was probably not changed in weeks. The rice tasted stale and the sushi was poorly made and just fell apart! To top it off their prices are outrageous for what you get. I would rather pay the same price and dine at one of the sushi spots further south on Queen Street.

1 star is definitely too much for them - Dirty place, terrible food, unfriendly staff. They probably last renovated the place 20 years ago. Id be horrified to see their kitchen! The food is not fresh, just microwaved. I will never visit again, Id rather starve !! Stay away !!!
This is one of those small restaurant where take out is preferable over dinning in. Service was extremely slow. Had to wait over 30 min for food to arrived. Las Vegas roll was delicious but the volcano and chocolate tempura tasted really bland.

As their main focus seem to be delivery and take out, there are very few tables. Very good and tasty food, but be prepared for slow service.
It looks good when ordered online, but go there in person and this place is filthy. One of the few times in Toronto Im genuinely amazed how they have not been shut down. If I could give negative stars I would. Just disgusting.
My husband and I were shocked and appalled at the state of cleanliness (or lack there of) of Ume Fashion Sushi. The dinning space was covered in dirt, dust, insects, and cobwebs. The kitchen which was visible from the dinning space was in a similar condition. The cook kept touching his face and nose while preparing our meal. Also, very over priced for what you get. Toronto public health should be paying closer attention to Ume because no way this is a pass.

Do not order from this place! We order from here and found a maggot in the rice! It is extremely dirty and unsanitary inside the restaurant. This place should not be able to serve people food.
