Extremely friendly place, food is awesome Sticky tofu is a must try
We went there reading review how good the stinky tofu. We order it and it wasn’t so stinky as I expected. If super stinky is 5, this is only a 2. Although the cabbage on top of stinky tofu was great, delicious. Perhaps if they served the cabbage and the brown sauce the stinky tofu would be hotter in temperature.i don’t think I will go there again. We love hole in the wall, if food isn’t good, no go
Ordered take out here for the first time. Presentation of the lunch box was alright. The popcorn chicken was very chewy. Side dishes were very salty. The soup was too sweet. Overall, I didn't enjoy their food today.
I first tried this restaurant at an Asian market earlier this year and was impressed by their authentic stinky tofu. My second experience was a takeout order of their pork cutlet meal, which also did not disappoint. The packaging was very neat, and the food was delicious, fresh, and reminiscent of my time in Taiwan. Truly authentic Taiwanese cuisine. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine Taiwanese flavors!
Had been craving for Taiwanese food so I jumped on the opportunity when I see one. Perhaps I did not order their speciality … Bento style food seem to be quite popular as I see people coming in and out with they the whole time. I order intestine noodle soup and oyster pancake. Neither one was super nor great. Oyster pancake was not cooked well. Outside not crisp at all and the cracked egg was not flavourful. The suce was good on top but still not a well cooked oyster pancake. Intestine noodle was less than okay….. everything tasted mushy. However, perhaps should had ordered bento as they were large and most people were ordering them at lunch. Finally, it would be a better dining experience if they can clear away the clutter and take out boxes inside the dining area. That does not improve the dining experience either. Overall, I think the cook need to turn up the foam a notch when making pancake and the intestine needs better flavour.
This is my second time purchasing Bento boxes from Wei's Taiwanese Food Inc. The price was very reasonable and the food tasted delicious. We ordered the 3 cup chicken Bento box and Braised beef Bento box. Each Bento box comes with 3 sides where you can choose from vegetable, broccoli, Ma Po Tofu, Beans, and many more options. Also, the Bento box comes with either a bottle of water or soup of the day. I chose soup, it was cilantro and carrots soup. The cashier was friendly and the service was prompted. They only accept cash or debit cards, no credit cards. I would totally come back again in the future.
We ordered a lot of food from them because I miss Taiwanese food. It was our first time getting their meal, and we felt they could do better for the food. We ordered chicken popcorn(鹽酥雞), oyster omelette(蚵仔煎), rice sausage(大腸包小腸), deep-fried basket(炸一籃), beef noodles(牛肉麵), and pork intestine vermicelli(大腸麵線). Most of their food was bland, and it would be better if they added more salt. I do like the chicken popcorn tho, and all their food prices were excellent value.
Love getting my stinky tofu fix here, and the snack mix is another favorite. They have great fish cakes and pork blood sticky rice sticks(I forgot the actual name of it) you can order ahead online and pick up. Also stock up on frozen items too. The prices are very reasonable too. So good!
The food is delicious, but there is no air conditioning or service
Not bad
Very affordable food. Its gotten very popular so the wait time is long during lunch hour.
Great authentic Healthy Taiwanese dishes bento boxes. Pick a meat item, then 3 side dishes, get free soup or bottle water or add pop for $1 more
The smell of the restaurant is so stinky. Its looks like no one clean the place. The table is so sticky. Food is good.
I have ordered party trays from Weis twice now and each time the food has been delicious and fresh. Friendly staff and great communication! Would recommend to anyone craving Taiwanese food. Vegetarian options: I was able to order a vegetarian sticky rice party tray for a gathering
Im a Taiwanese and I think this is the most authentic Taiwanese food in Toronto. Good price and good taste. Look no further.
some of the nicest people youve meet. lovely
Great reasonable price Taiwanese meal
Longer wait time than expected, taste is ok but texture of food is too soggy. No one cleans table, customers need to clean their own table.
After so many times and living in Scarborough for so many years. Trust google ratings. Finally came to order once. But...I wonder when the next time will be? ! The beef noodles I ordered were not delicious (the beef is better from specialty stores), the portion of stinky tofu was bigger (Minong was more), and the salt crispy chicken was not delicious (my family ate one piece and I had to eat the rest by myself). Alas, I hope we are the customers who happen to encounter poor quality among the hundreds of dishes you serve.
Great food, been going there for years. If u want tw food. This place is a must try
So delicious and the best deal! You can a full meal for $10 with three side dishes and soup/fruit. Can t wait to go back!
There are a lot of takeaways. When I miss the taste of Taiwan, I like to buy stinky tofu and fried chicken nuggets. They taste exactly the same as those eaten in Taiwan.
The price is great. $11-12 lunch or dinner set comes with soup or fruit. the taste is great. a few things -food why I rate the food 4 star because the deep fried stuff se time its not very crispy, I believe either the oil is been reuse many times or oil not hot enough. -service try to call in to order our lunch. but no one picked up the phone even though they are not busy. -store environment its clean, but not enough tables and chairs. more like order to take out from the store
I order stinky tofu every time I go there, but today the taste and texture are different from before. I hope they can return to the taste I know and love
The fried pork blood cake is delicious, the stinky tofu is delicious, the fried pork cutlet bento is delicious, and the meat soup is also delicious
Great source of authentic Taiwanese prepared foods. We usually stock up on frozen foods to save time during the week. Frozen fried chicken, 3 Cup chicken, 3 Cup eggplant are staples in our house. For the un initiated, this place smell like sticky tofu so youve been warned. Part of the authenticity. Support these businesses! It gives Toronto such character
Authentic Taiwanese comfort food. Price is really good & the portion is generous
The New Year dishes taste the same as those in Taiwan. The portions are delicious enough. I can give you five stars for eating such a hearty and hot meal during the Chinese New Year overseas. The service attitude is also very good
Good taste, good portion, great value for money, excellent choices if you want a good quick meal.
This meal was around $10. Very friendly staff, cute decor inside, and food was good and filling.
Great food for a great price!
Bento size is enough for an average Asian male. The seating is very limited, as most of the customers came for take out. Food is excellent. The fried chicken is always freshly made, served crispy and steamily hot. The side dishes are exceptional refreshing, among many choices, highly recommended.
Great selection Fast service Food
Ordered the crispy chicken rice bento box, came with 3 other sides of your choosing plus a soup. Large portions, very very filling. Lots of veggie options to choose for the 3 sides. Very limited seating, 2 tables of 4 plus a few seats at the bar table and stools. Lots of takeouts and call ahead for takeouts.
I like the food, price and staff.
Long overdue review - I ve been coming here for years since its right by my place and I always get the Taiwanese style crispy chicken bento box. Comes with rice, 3 sides of your choice and a soup They accept cash, debit or etransfer
Humble family style establishment. The Food is authentic and excellent in quality. Not to mention the price and portion. Its rare these days and ages that a lunch for two costs less than $25
Tastes good
Original Taiwanese Food. Taste so good!!! Food
Cant bother to open another fryer and one order took 45 mins.
The foods we had taste like home. People here were really friendly (like in Taiwan). Well be back!
The food is awesome! I like them so much! And if you re Taiwanese and miss Taiwan s food so much, please just eat it! Food
Yummy
Delicious Taiwanese bento! The salted crispy chicken is very crispy and the chicken chop is not too dry. There are many side dishes and the prices are reasonable!
Very good Taiwanese bento boxes! Tasty food at great price. I particularly love they include 3 choices of sides with the bento and there are like 10 options mostly veggies. It feels more healthy even when I m munching on the delicious yet evil popcorn chicken :-P
Good quality and low price
Food is absolutely amazing!
Food was flavourful and good. Had the crispy chicken Bento and the sausage Bento. Only thing is that it took a while for the food to be ready. The place was pretty busy with takeout.
Im not sure if theres an ownership change or what happen but the taste is different - not good. My tomato and egg was burnt and minced pork sauce was very salty.
there price varies depends on who you are !! Years of customer since day one, They used to be great before new owner took over, went to its pop-up shop at city hall get $15 for 8 pieces stinky tofu, people behind him spoke Mandarin to the staff get much cheaper price .,
Vegetarian menu: Three Cup vegetarian kidny rice Braised Tofu Pocket Rice Vegetarian gluten with preserved veggie rice Sweet potato fries Peanut sticky rice Weis smelly tofu Vegetarian options: Three Cup vegetarian kidny rice Braised Tofu Pocket Rice Vegetarian gluten with preserved veggie rice Sweet potato fries Peanut sticky rice Weis smelly tofu
This is a hidden gem of Scarborough - authentic Taiwanese food. Its in the corner of Huntingwood Square. I recommend that you order online then pick it up after 15-30mins. Popcorn Chicken + rice + veggies + soup is the go-to. Add Weis Smelly Tofu if youre craving a bit more.
Taste so-so
Best food in Canada Ive ever eat, best restaurant Ive ever been. Thumbs up to chef and boss.
average taste and the meat & tofu have too much water/oil mixed
Amazing food tucked away in a little plaza. I used to come here all the time as a kid, and having recently visited was excited that nothing much has changed (aside from the free pop that comes with the lunch boxes). Good, solid portions and cant really go wrong with any of their lunch boxes. Their tomato and egg is my favorite, although some would say its on the sweeter side. The cashier is super friendly and adorable. Definitely something to check out if youre in the area and want to try some authentic Taiwanese food!
The mains are good but the side dishes need some work. The egg and tomato had seriously over cooked eggs. Like rubber eggs. The rest of the side dishes were okay. The minced meat sauce was very tasty and likely my favourite. The popcorn chicken was also enjoyable.
Traditional Taiwan food. Best price vs quality, best CP value. Been buying food here for the past 15yrs.
Been coming here to get my taiwanese fried popcorn chicken for a while ! Ten bucks for a bento box, one meat plus 3 side dishes, very fulfilling
Probably the best Taiwanese food outside of Taiwan! Theyre going to be seeing a lot of me in the future!
My favorite Taiwanese dish is popcorn chicken and it is the first dish I would try out whenever I visit a new restaurant. Wei s popcorn chicken rice bento is not disappointing, the white pepper taste is slightly overdo in the chicken but overall taste is ok, it s good value and portion is reasonable. The tomato egg side dish is surprisingly good. This restaurant also sells frozen food and has quite a variety to choose from. Will visit again!
good
Authentic Taiwanese flavours. I bought a bunch of their frozen dishes- sticky rice, braised meats, large dumplings. Everything was delightful, not too salty with the right balance of seasoning. The frozen food defrosted quite well. Would highly recommend them
Food is good and reasonably priced. East for take out as well as dining in.
Came in for a quick snack and got the Taiwanese sausage in sticky rice sausage. It tasted pretty average but lacked the depth of flavour and roasted aroma thats typical of this street food in Taiwan. Service was quick and efficient.
Hidden gem. Awesome price. Their bento boxes are quite tasty, good portions and healthy. I enjoy very much of their Taiwan fried chicken nuggets. I always swing by whenever I can, or sometime I take buses just for this place
This place is great for takeout and satisfies that taiwanese food craving. Great value for the $, especially with the portion sizes of the mains and sides. My go-to is the popcorn chicken with the green bean and eggplant sides.
I like their Taiwanese food with frozen products.
great bang for your buck, will fill you up. The tofu is not that great, and the sweet soup can be unusual to what others want as well as the crispy chicken not being that crispy. On the other note, the flavours are pretty good, and the plaza is really underrated. If you don t mind soft, get the crispy chicken and choose veggie options on the side.
My girlfriend is Taiwanese and she likes it very much.
This is the best bento box I always to go. The owner is the best! I love their Taiwanese bentos. I ve been visiting there restaurant and eating their bento box for more than 15 years! The bestest!
Super friendly. I been buying them frozen foods and they are still as good!!!
Good stuffs. Love the smelly tofu. Been coming here for years
Nothing special. Very disappointing flavours. Heavy use of microwave Disorganized so waited 30 mins for simple bento. I didn t finish the food. Some of it went to the garbage. I ve never had simple rice smell and taste so weird.
Maybe they used to taste good but they are disgusting now. taste is average , price and portion is little. Not only are servers attitude bad, but we have had food poisoning twice from here.
The best stinky tofu in Toronto! All dishes and meal taste authentic Taiwanese food! We always go eat and buy some frozen food at same time.
Taiwanese bento with high cost performance, big portion and cheap! I recommend everyone to come here. The only bad thing is that it closes at seven oclock
Consistent and reliable, Wei s Taiwanese foods has been a staple of this plaza competing against other heavyweights like Chris Jerk and Mexico Lindo for a long time. Each lunch combo box is around $10 after tax and you can be sure it is more filling than most other Taiwanese lunchbox restaurants. What most people don t know is that they do a lot of large-scale catering to local churches and nonprofit organizations, so their service may be slow at times. If you peek into their kitchen, you ll notice that it isn t the biggest space so they re making do with what they can. Cash and debit only, get the crispy chicken rice combo!
FOOD IS SOOOOOOOO DISGUSTING!!!!
praise!
Came here to eat after hearing a recommendation from a friend. A very authentic Fulong Platform Bento, it feels like it is sold on the platform of Fulong Station. The chicken steak is not too oily, and the sausage with sweet and spicy sauce is just right. The only downside is that the prince mushroom feels a bit spicy. The boss is very enthusiastic and even delivers water.
Very yummy Taiwanese bian dangs. $9.49 (plus HST) each and they are big portions. You get to pick three side dishes from pictures. Cash or debit or e-transfer only. Go get some.
Reasonably priced, filling and delicious. I always like their popcorn chicken and side dishes (eggplant and tomato egg are my personal favourites). You can also buy frozen versions of their food to cook at home.
I give the 5 because of the price 11dollar now can buy these kind of bento box it is not ez n the taste, size, food is 9/10 about this price In my own better than n what ever the food court at warden steel I did not take pic all eat all done
Great food for a reasonable price! They have multiple vegan options too! Their smelly tofu Vegetarian options: 3 vegan rice box options and the stinky tofu! Not sure if they have any vegan noodle options. Havent asked about those yet.
Tasty and reasonably priced Taiwanese bento box.
Authentic flavor, good portion and fair price
The stinky tofu here is really good
Good food for really good price
Weis is one of my favourite place to do take-out not only because the price is reasonable but the food is yummy with big portions. Love the taro cake and fried pork blood they make here. Highly recommend!
Terrible communication and customer service. I ordered pick up at Richmond Hill. Didnt receive any pick up info. When I follow up via Facebook, I was told the service is no longer available. I tried to arrange another pick up location but no responses. Called the store but the lady said she didnt know anything. I was given another phone number but no response neither.
One of the ho to place for Taiwanese food. They are famous because of the night market event in Toronto for many year. Especially the stinky tofu.
Side dishes really delicious too
Wonderful Taiwanese cuisine in a value price. Although the dining area is not looking great, Im sure the food will compensate your satisfaction.
Delicious authentic Taiwanese food! A small, casual place like a real Taiwanese eatery/ and more grandmas cooking than hipster street food. Love their stinky tofu and every Taiwanese persons comfort food: beef noodle soup! The beef noodle soup is a great deal at only $9 (compared to typical ramen prices at $13) and very flavourful, better than other Taiwanese places Ive tried. Everything at this place is $9 from their bentos to noodle soups and other dishes. They do have tables and seating but most customers seem to do take out. I did eat there though.
Stinky tofu is solid here and I think can go toe to toe with offerings in Taiwan. I also actually really prefer their current way of making the oyster omelette vs how it is as street food, its substantial with a lot of egg vs starch ratio, meal size or shareable portion, good oyster amount and quality and sauce is on point. The bentos and the side dishes that come with each are superb. I do wish the gun or intestine thin noodle soup had more of a rich flavour but it is very reminiscent of the taste.
First time trying the foods. Crispy chicKen was outstanding. The beef noodle was very tasty! The bento box with fried pork chop was great as well. We will definitely come back again!
Don t dine-in, it s dirty and tight, not comfortable at all. Food is ok (just ok), but not a real Taiwan taste and style. Price not cheap. Stars is given to staffs, who is polite and having smile.
Good stinky tofu
This is the glutinous rice sausage and chicken chop rice that I ordered. The glutinous rice sausage is also delicious, right? Oh, God, why do you let me eat such delicious glutinous rice sausage? What should I do if I can never eat such delicious glutinous rice sausage again? The rice aroma and softness of the glutinous rice, the meaty aroma of the sausage, the slight burnt aroma after being grilled, and the spiciness of the sauce are amazing.
Popcorn chicken is the best. Made fresh and super crispy!
If you like the Taiwanese taste or you like to try it, this is definitely worth it.
This is the best place for a quick lunch and dinner. The food is so good and way cheaper than other restaurants. I got one bentobox for lunch, so many different dishes inside and its perfectly give you enough diversity of protein and nutrients. My preserved pork tasted so good as same as one of my country back home. Love it. P/s: Definitely being this restaurant membership when i dont cooks
The bento were ok but the stinky tofu were outstanding ~
Small place but have good food, old fashioned Taiwanese food, and prices are reasonable, good to try
Good food and fast service!
Great Taiwanese food
Real Taiwanese taste, worth for another time
Delicious Taiwanese foods.
Quick and easy Taiwanese food. Have ordered here a few times. I like the variety of small side dishes to choose from but sometimes they are sold out and don t have the side dish I want especially if it s later in the evening so something to be aware of. They also have frozen food available which is handy for have at home so whenever my craving for Taiwanese food hits I have options to satisfy it!
Good prices & Yummy noodles
Good fresh clean home cooked meal, thats all you need to know. The rest is for you to discover
This place deserves a higher rating. Service is great and food is really good. The price is also affordable.
I really like the twn lunch box here. Good value and nice portion.
Food is good. Stinky tofu is a must have.
Closed during the covid 19 But no mention on google at all
I went there around 6:20pm on a Saturday trying to order and take home. There was like 3-4 people waiting when I arrived, after I waited for 40 minutes and I still wanst able to order, there is only 2 people and both are constantly at the back trying to fulfill the previous orders so no one is at the cashier to take orders. I left around 7pm without ordering anything. What a waste of time! AVOID GOING THERE AT BUSY TIME UNLESS YOU ARE WELLING TO WAIT FOR AN HOUR!
I decided to give this try a place after a craving for Taiwan s famous flour rice noodle soup. Drove for an hour to get to the restaurant and I ordered the beef noodle soup and intestine noodle soup. The beef soup was okay, but the intestine soup was extremely disappointing.. it tasted nothing similar to what i had in taiwan, not even close. The serving was not only small, but they cheaped out on intestine and placed only 2 small thin pieces. Not impressed. Soo not worth the 1 hour drive down. The wait time for 3 soups for takeout is 30 mins.. so much for fast food . I should have stayed home and cooked myself a pack of instant noodles, atleast that wouldn t go wrong.
Very rude. Dirty place. Save yourself a bother.
Excellent food. Excellent quantity for the price. Would recommend.
Food was good, good value for the price. Had the popcorn chicken, would go back
I ordered the stinky tofu. It tasted great however, the taste and smell was not as pungent as the ones in Taiwanese night markets. I will definitely come back to try other dishes.
This used to be a great place to get cheap Taiwanese food in Scarborough. The lady working there was super friendly and generous with the portions. Unfortunately the old days are gone. Since the renovation and COVID outbreak, portions became smaller and prices have skyrocketed.
Probably one of the worst beef noodle Ive tasted cooked by a Taiwanese person, love the stinky tofu though but cant say the same with the pickled veg.
Had a late lunch here--beef noodles and sausage-in-sticky rice. I ordered ahead and the food was ready in 20 minutes and was dynamite! Flavorful and plentiful. Dont know what some of the negative reviews are talking about. Will return soon.
Best stinky tofu in town
Love their Taiwanese snack food!
Love the salted crispy chicken and stinky tofu
Cost has definitely hiked up significantly and the Stinky Tofu isnt as crisp & stinky as it used to be.
The food and the people working there is 100% Taiwan!!!
Very good party tray. Tasty and big portion. Price is great.
Little place in the corner plaza serving with a amazing Taiwanese food bento style at pretty decent price. This place is also popular for its award winning stinky tofu. I usually take out from here instead of dine in due to strong smell of stinky tofu which Im not a big fan of. The lady owner is very friendly and always generous on quantity to regulars. This place is worth a try
Good amount of food for very reasonable price. Got popcorn chicken and oyster omelette. Shop is a little small.
After many years of living in the prairies one thing I always missed was authentic Taiwanese food. After a quick google search knowing we d be coming to Toronto for the weekend I knew this was a place I had to check out. Even though we had to drive over an hour during rush hour I can say that this place met all expectations and some. We literally sample one of each item and got two orders of the stinky tofu. All I can say is WOW! The food was amazing and reminds me exactly of Taiwan. For anyone visiting this is a must visit even if commuting from downtown to eat here. For all the locals, I envy you for having such an amazing place like this. From now on, whenever we came to Toronto we will be making a visit here.
Great place for food. But not enough room for dine in.
Delicious as always.
You can eat whatever you want, it s not bad, it s just a normal Taiwanese bento, it s quite plentiful, and you get free bottled water when you order the bento
Pretty good Taiwanese food, good service as well.
Alright beef noodles
After visiting Taiwan a few times recently and trying the great food there, I must say that I m lucky to live in an area where I have access to a variety of cultural foods. It s nice to know I have access to Taiwanese food relatively close to home. I ordered the fried chicken on rice with two types of tofu and a boiled egg. I enjoyed the meal a lot and all this food only cost me $8.45 which is an amazing price for all this great food. I wanted to try this place after driving by it many times and I m glad I did and recommend it to anyone to try.
As someone from Taiwan, I must say that the food here hits so close to home. Everything is very traditionally made, huge potion sizes for a very affordable price. Somethings are a little oily for me. Staff are really friendly and food is always consistent.
Love the stinky tofu. Love Taiwan food stall feel. Not many choices in the menu.
I absolutely love the lunchboxes here! The Stewed Port With Rice + tomato/egg side + silken tofu side + hard-boiled egg side lunchbox combo is my favourite and it tastes incredible. The bottled water/soup is fine and the cashier is nice and cooperative. The interior decoration isnt the best and the restaurant is very small so take out is optimal. Overall, a tiny and unnoticed restaurant, but the food is amazing and I strongly recommend the lunchboxes!
nice staff and the food is DEFINITELY NOT microwaved. someone said it is and its absolutely rediculous. U CAN SEE THEM COOK THE FOOD
It said it would close at 5 oclock. I ran over from a distance and found that it had closed at 4:30. I was speechless.
Tried the smelly tofu and the soup noodle. The sauce and the pickled cabbage are huge let down. The sauce has almost no flavour and the pickled cabbage is rancid when I tried it. The noodle soup has no flavour, it tasted like they doubled the amount of water needed to cut corner, and worst yet, they even used cheap spaghetti noodle instead of the proper Taiwanese oil noodle. The authentic Taiwanese is very flavorful, the food here is anything but.
Taiwanese style of foods, but limit space if you like to stay. Stink Tofu is my recommend
Whenever I miss Taiwan, I come here. =)
If you dont speak Mandarin, dont bother. Nobody there speaks English. Also dont bother with their website. Its not an accurate representation of what they actually have to sell.
Nice food, nice price and nice server here!
Portion sizes are amazing, and the stinky tofu is soooo yummy here. Prices are under $10 and tucked away in the corner of the plaza
Quality is pretty good and service quick. Price and portion is okay. Yummy noodle and Bento box.
Combos are great value, love the stinky tofu.... Ive been coming to this place forever
I love the food. But the lady overcharged me. When I pointed out, she claimed the boss told her to charge more. When I returned another day, it was the boss himself. He charged me the good price. I hope they can get rid of the lady who overcharges then lies about it.
One of my favorite places for stinky tofu. Although they are not fluent in English, the menu was easy to order from. Quick service and wonderful comfort food!
The bento is cheap and delicious; the portion is big! It also comes with a sweet soup!
Taste like something mom would make. Generous portion. Fair price. Would go back again.
Food looks, tastes, and very likely is microwaved. Avoid eating here.
Authentic Mexican great taste.
Beef noodle soup - $9.05 after tax Average size and taste nothing special.
Authentic Taiwanese street style flavourful food and lunchboxes
The Go-To place if you are looking for authentic Taiwanese food! And they have stinky tofu!!
Affordable Taiwanaese lunchboxes thats pretty good. I just wish there were more sides to choose from but it was good nonetheless. The lady serving me was nice. Cash only!
Wanna try them , but their opening hours is diff from what i got in google map
Go to spot in Scarborough for cheap Taiwanese food!
