Best samosas ever. Always have great service a day delicious food you can always rely on. Been going there for such a long time and quality keeps getting better.
I got samosas yesterday. 20 chicken snd 20 veg. I wake up this morning to have food poisoning and have thrown up multiple times from the samosas. My brother is also very sick. Do not buy from here. They WILL give you food poisoning. Posted pictures of the bag and samosa. I lost a days worth of work. Who’s gonna compensate me for that?? Ashamed of the quality of canbe because they actually used to be good. It’s a shame where this company has come cutting corners.
Every time the quality is dropping, we been a regular customer specially for veg somossa (spicy) for more then 15 years but lately the quality of the batches not consistent with the prep and taste. If this keep going on one day this business will loose it’s long time repeated customers which is not good for the owners . Someone need to look into the process .
Visted canbe foods this morning we bought an egg paratha, 2 veg samosa and onion bhaji. The egg paratha we can call it just onion and black pepper paratha. Literally the paratha was full with onion and black pepper. And rest both things were cold it seems to be like leftover food from yesterday. It was our go to place but now we are never going again. The quality has degrade a lot.
Horrible rolls. Bought frozen rolls to fry ourself for a party and it just fell apart. Made total mess Bought 150 mutton and 50 veg, all went to trash
I was driving by when I saw a sign that they claim to be the best samosa in Toronto. I gave them a try. The samosas were great, super fresh, crispy and hot. Pricing was average and the staff were all fast and efficient. Totally would go back to try their other menu items.
First time we tried this place. Bought chicken and mutton samosas. Quality was 3/5. Spice level was good. Tried also the chana dal vada it was excellent. The spinach and cheese samosa was also good! Service was quick and very organized. Staff is friendly too. They also have a ready snack section which are in packets and a frozen section to buy samosas and mutton rolls and other items. Saw the sweet section but did not try any. Ample lot of parking. Priced reasonably.
LOVE LOVE LOVE. Been going to this place for 4 years already. Their prices are SO cheap! Samosas are only 25 cents each. THINK ABOUT IT! So delicious and so good, I always got it after work or school. Amazing to share with others too. And they have a bunch of other great dishes. Since I go there a lot, they give me complimentary snacks sometimes, it's awesome. I feel really really appreciated as a customer. Recommend it deeply.
Always amazing
Great place to pick up some of your favorite Sri Lankan foods. Fish balls and the red string hoppers are the big favorites. A variety of samosas to choose from as well
Their vegetable samosas are delicious and spicy. I would recommend getting them when they are fresh.
Veggies samosas are to die for.
Good food. Better menu boards needed to know what is in each pan.. awkward if you.dont know the foods well, but it would likely sell more dishes
I dont know who says these are the best samosas in Toronto this place has the most disgusting food i tried the samosas, the mutton roll and other rolls
One of my go to places for South Indian food Update April 2024, limited lunch menu. Kitchen renovations just completed according to the cashier. Still picked up biryani rice with the usual order of samosas
Best samosas!
Good food with reasonable price. Best Chicken patties ever.
The girl serving was good but the food wasnt as fresh. It was only vegetable samosas. The owner has become very greedy and stingy. Even of you buy 50 samosas the sales girl will ask you if you wanted them in paperbags or a tray if you prefer tray it will cost you extra dollar. I found it so odd to be asked that kind of question. So I said obviously Ill need them to be presentable to my guests in aluminum tray but paying a dollar for the tray is not right. In fact It was just last night when I visited the place again.
Tasty samosa, rolls those I always buy.
Love going here
They are very busy with very clean place and tasty food
More like the WORST Samosa Place in Toronto . The masala chai served was also cold and watery, a complete waste of time n money plus my taste buds suffering so bad ! Food
The samosas are heated or fried so many times, or the oil is so old that I can literally taste the bitter old burnt oil. Bad, Bad, Bad. Will never go again.
Food quality has went down so much, using old oil to fry appetizers and taste so bad.
The best samosas you can get they have great deals when you buy in large quantities and their Indian sweets are so fresh and nice.. Parking: The parking lot here is free on the left and right side Wheelchair accessibility: Yes they do have access to for wheel chair
Good food, good snack and nice quality and take for the price paid.
Amazing mutton rolls
Samosas were tasty, fresh, and crunchy. Vegetarian options: The veggie samosas are well balanced. You can taste the veggies, and the spicy level is very good. Parking: The parking lot is convenient.
Great food, the best Samosa Ive ever taste
I tried their tandoori chicken combo it was really good and worth the money. It comes with 2 tandoori chicken pcs with choice of rice. I usually go for their veg rice which taste really delicious.
Great samosas
The food has become so much for expensive recently.
Veggie samosas and fish balls are S tier delicious Also authenticated they offer machine-slaughtered halal options for those that are ok with that option. Mutton rolls are phenomenal Dietary restrictions: Machine slaughtered Halal meats
Very satisfied. Large portions were given for take-out which is awesome!!
Best and cheapest samosas in the city!
Be aware, you won t believe but they charge for the ketchup separately.
Very disappointed with Canbee, ordered idiyappam, they dont have Sothi. Ordered mutton rolls, it did not even have 1 piece of meat inside. What a rip off. Never coming back again.
A lil price but the quality is good. Sweets are nothing special.
Ive tasted almost everything they sell. Theyre really tasty at an affordable price point! But absolutely AVOID the Masala tea, just spoils the experience Food
Great value! Chicken samosas were my favourite. They have a wide range of big batch frozen food options that are worth saving in your freezer.
The snacks here are super cheap plus it s good in taste. If you plan for party you can definitely opt for party orders here..
This place was a jem of a place to dine from... now not so much. I will not visit again.
Fast food speedy service. Great deals . I got 50 veggie samosas for 21$ before tax. Try The green minty sauce. Trust its great with something spicy. Perfect spot in Scarborough!
Loved veggie samosas
i love the samoas here very yummy and affortabele highly recoment
Prices are really cheap. And i like the snaks
Great food.
Vegetarian options: They have vegiterian Parking: They have their own parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Yes they have wheelchair access
They have the best samosas hands down. The pricing is great too not to mention they serve other hot food and various frozen items
Been visiting this place for a very long time. Would recommend for quick and cheap eats.
The vadai was too salty and the way too small .
Straight garbage, quality has gone downhill. I ordered samosas, rolls and curries; the food was so bland. Food
Thenu at front desk has a great welcoming smile.
I was really disappointed with the food that I ordered (Vada). It was definitely stale and not good.
The prices have doubled, while the quality of the food has gone way down in the last couple of years. And the prices listed on the menu both on their website and on the door are different from what are taped onto the sneeze guards. Their website menu says their veggie samosas are 4 for a dollar. The menu on the door says theyre 40 cents each. Inside, they are 50 cents each. This used to be my favourite place for getting Indian food, and would go out of my way to drop in for something, but I wont be coming back again.
This place sucks
Somosa is ok but other food test was not good , they packed food which is not fresh.
Best food ,Best services
Everything is good BUT, they increased the price to 50 cents a samosa. Thats crazy. Also, the filling has decreased. They are not as thick anymore.
Canbe Foods? More like cannot be foods. Stale food dont know how old. Dont know about taste as nothing was fresh. We got samosas, medhu vada and tandoori chicken. All of them were way past their shelf life. Waste of money.
Inspite calling and mentioning that the Medhu Vada and Dal Vada quality has come down, even today, its of the same state. Completely dry and tasteless. The servicing person informed that it would be reported to their manager. But seems like the communication was either not passed or food quality inspection was not performed. Earlier in the past, Canbe foods was not only good for samosas but also for vadas. Highly disappointed today that both vada types were actually spoilt and started to taste differently. I request the management to change the style or the person who prepares it with experienced one. My suggestion is to make those vadas smaller with good ingredients. I also bought Tandoori Chicken. Firstly, it smelt a bad oil and charred. Eating charred chicken is not good for health. If these things are corrected, Canbe would come back with great flavours and can retain customers. Again, their quality of samosas are great. No words for that!
Best Place in Toronto for samosas and rolls
Nice service , nice food thank u yukkta
Service and atmosphere are normal. Food is alright. Their chicken biryani serving may be nice to some because the size of the chicken is great, but there portion of the rice is tiny in comparison. I cant enjoy my meal. We used to buy from Canbe, but its just not the same.
Don t ever go to this place I visited this place yesterday I bought samosas and chicken roll , samosa are good but chicken roll are smelled like they are 3- 4 day s before one. And this not the first time 3 months back same thing happend with fish. Not ever visiting this place again
Canbe foods , so good so pure just taste like a wow
Our go-to place for Indian snacks at very affordable prices
Vegetarian options: We got the vegetarian samosas and the are so delicious Food
25 samosas for $10. cant really go wrong. beware however, they are not the flaky bubbly large kinds youd get at an afghan/pakistani store. they are a bit different, and the filling is mashed opposed to chunky bits of potato/veggies. still tasted very good. my family thought they were too spicy, but i thought it was perfect. youll like the flavour if youre a spice enthusiast.
Samosa pastry isnt too thick, but it gets really hard if they arent turning them over fast enough and theyre drying out in the tray. Chicken samosa isnt very good at all. Spinach and cheese samosa is by far the best. But the samosas at A1 are much, much better. Chicken roll isnt very good. Very bready, not much meat. Meh flavour. Mutton roll is just as bready, but it has very good flavour. Nice people. Seems better organized than the chaos of some other places. Theres a line, staff serve the next person up, customers follow the line.
We ordered 200 Cutlets for today our for community get-together, then went to pick them up nothing was ready, they said no one called, very disappointed.
I was there yesterday and have been many times buying samosas biryani tandoori and sweets Yesterday I bought 2 pieces tandoori chicken and was charged 4.49 each After I paid, the next person ordered 2 pieces tandoori chicken and paid a lot less. They offered him thigh and breast which is cheaper. When I asked about this they said I just asked for 2 pieces so they gave me the more expensive option, 2 breasts without offering options I was the only white person in there and I guess thats why I love that kind of food and have been eating Indian food for years but dont cheat me on the prices just because Im not one of you This is the first and last time they will do this to me
Best Samosa in Toronto I like the chicken n veg samosa and the fish cutlets Food
I love their Halal food.
Was here before and their samosas were so good that I went there again today. Bought a lot of stuff but sorry to say none of them were good.. the fish cutlets and mutton rolls were not even fully cooked. The medu vadai and dal vadai were so hard and not taste good. I don t think I m going there again. Very disappointed.
Very clean place and good customer service as well as in tronoto best food in this place, especially vege samosa, I recommend everybody for visit this place
Definitely not best samosa in Toronto. Samosa lovers just dont visit this place, it will disappoint you. Price of one samosa is 0.50cent so imagine the taste. One more thing I wanted to mention is their mutton rolls are mostly made of lamb as you can really taste the difference I wouldn t recommend this place.
Used to be one of the best in scarborough. But now service is very poor, when you expect to run the kitchen and dinning with 3 pll ofvourse its a failing model. I still like thier Rolls and samosa.. prices are not clear for new clients .. Lot of potential as it had a good history ..
Never be back again. Byriany was good, but employees need to put more work for better customer service .
Place to order frozen somasa and roties
Sri lankan foods
Great location for Samosas.
Biryani was sweet in taste. Funny.
Fresh and delicious food! Excellent staff performance!! Food
Veggy samosas do not taste right. Why is there spinach in the samosas? Not bad tasting. Just not what a samosa usually tastes like
Worst food anyone can have. Dont come to ruin your day here
This place is clean, always fresh, and excellent customer service despite how busy they are. The staff there is very accommodating and the food is delicious!
I bought mutton kottu this afternoon it was very dry and smell burned
Its good that they now have online ordering because it looks chaotic when they are busy. I had to do a substitution on pickup and the original amount I paid wasnt completely credited back. Also, they seem understaffed. However, the food is good. Parking is abundant too.
Just bought 12 rolls for $14.20 and all of the rolls are cracked and are fully absorbed in oil, leaving with a burnt aftertaste. Dissatisfied with this takeout!!
Bought medhu vadai . it s very hard and dry . see both photos how it supposed to be and what they sold me . garbage
Glad to see they have physically expanded. On a Saturday afternoon, a lot of their items were empty. The food that did keep coming out was very fresh and hot. Grabbed a bag of frozen roti to make kothu at home. It was great.
Staff not attending properly . We didnt receive an item in the order
Amazing samosas
Absolutely the best Samosa place in Canada. I wish they would open their shop in Calgary.
Good quality not as good as it used to be and prices are much higher compared to similar options nearby
Great food, fast friendly staff
On 27th Jan 2024, we ordered Samosas, Medhu Vada, Onion Bonda/Pakora. The Vada & Bonda was semi-cooked and it was too much oily. The batter used was so sour which totally marred the original taste and flavour. Medhu Vada was not Medhu (Soft) and it was hard. They just deep fry the old uncooked frozen vadas they keep in their fridge. Samosa little bit ok. 2.5 out of 5 for samosas. Canbe - CAN BE Far Far better. Sorry folks. :( Parking: Parking space was ok.
People work hard for good food and peaceful sleep. I was so hungry and on my way I thought to grab some snacks . Snacks were terrible, I ended up throwing it out fully. Methu vada was supposedly soft but it was rock hard like a stone. You must have fried the old vadai twice Fish cutlet was made of rotten fish. Couldnt eat at all . Veggie rolls were hard too and hardly any vegetables Providing at least reasonably good food should be an ethical standard for a restaurant. Please dont treat as just business and profits.
The string hoppers do not come with the sauce. Just string hoppers and desicated coconut. Came here specifically because they were supposed to do the best sauce with string hoppers. Very disappointed.
Really good samosas. Loved the place , loved the taste.
bought samosas here and very sad ...utterly terrible. husband reminded me I forgot that I had their samosas two other times before, and also didnt like them then either. ill remember now.
Service and food were good.
Good taste of Samosa, other vegeterian items are goof as well. Price is increase now a days. Please activate proper voice mail for at least basic courtesy Food : 5/5
The best samosas in the Toronto and Greater Toronto area.
This place was ok prior years There some new workers not sure if they don t know math .. but apparently there system is down for awhile now they using a calculator to add up total and being over charging people. Buyers please check your amount before you leave the store . There food not the same new management sucks . My money not going towards the business every penny counts sorry .
We had a little Yalda gathering and a friend suggested Samosas from Canbe Foods. We ordered chicken samosas and cheese spinach samosas. Everyone loved them both. The chicken one was a bit in the spicy side which made it even more delicious for me although some people had to add some yoghurt. I preferred ahead so my trays weee already ready. I had to add more to each tray (and great that I did!) and no problem. The two ladies took care of it quite quickly. Most of the guests got Canbe s address from me and I m definitely gonna go back! Vegetarian options: Spinach and tree samosa Vegetable Samosa Parking: It has its dedicated parking area Wheelchair accessibility: This place has a wide entrance with no barriers
Good food but slow service!
Good place with some nice takeout dishes. It s good when warm and consumed soon. They have a variety of good sweets and packaged snacks. Biryani s are nice for a change Vegetarian options: Wide range of veg options Dietary restrictions: They have options available for all restrictions Parking: They have their own parking spot Kid-friendliness: They don t have much of a dine in space but have good sweet collections for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible
Foods were not tasty
Good
Vegetarian options: Veg samosa s were a Good Snack, Chinese flavoured I would say not typical punjabi taste Food
Fast service. The food is just average with competitive prices.
My experience with Canabe Foods has been inconsistent, particularly when it comes to food quality and taste. Each time I visit, I find a noticeable variation in the flavors of their offerings. One item that stands out is their samosas, which have been quite disappointing. On one occasion, I even discovered rotten potato pulp inside one of the samosas, which was rather off-putting. Given these issues, I cannot recommend this place, especially for those looking for vegetarian samosas. The lack of consistency and the unpleasant samosa experience have left me dissatisfied.
I recently visited Canbe Foods after 2 years, hoping to relive the delicious memories of their once amazing food. However, my experience this time around was nothing short of disappointing. I ordered three rotis, expecting the same high-quality and tasty treat that I had remembered. But when I got home and opened up the package, I was absolutely shocked at what I found. The roti was charred, extremely oily, and completely inedible. The taste was nothing short of charred disappointment. It was clear that Canbe Foods no longer cared about the quality of their food. I was truly saddened by this experience, as I had once held Canbe Foods in high regard for their delicious food. But now, I can confidently say that I will not be returning anytime soon. Its a shame to see a once reputable establishment let their standards slip so drastically.
Good samosas.
The food and service used to be really good . Of late for the past 2-3 months have been trying to order food using skipthedishes they always fail to accept order , so I decided to call and notify them there is a skip order and I even asked if y all accept skip the dishes orders they said yes . Apparently if you don t call and notify them about the order they won t accept it , I guess it s just laziness from the staff who don t want to do more work than required . I hope the management will look into it , as you guys had a rating of 9.8 on skip before now it s 6.4 . Laziness gets you no where thanks
Priyal who works here has awesome customer service. Always makes sure guests are taken care of.
This place used to be so good for snacks and meals. Sad to see it drop in quality. Veggie rolls used to be delicious, not dry and unflavored like it is now. Even the kothu is dry! Much better Lankan/Tamil spots in Scarbro fyi
Very affordable and the best part is all baked. Recommend their Mutton rolls.
They register themself on skip and never accept the orders.. really bad
No cooling heat. What kind a store is this
I bought mutton curry from them and it was very sour and did not taste good at all. I am pretty sure it was spoiled. Also the workers are very rude, they snap at you a lot.
Close at 10 and sold out at 7.
Food is not inexpensive as it used to be. But now there is more Choice on the menu then just snacks
Mutton rolls used to be good but now there is more wraps on the roll than filling. terrible rolls
worst samosa ever. They should take out the board which says best samosa in toronto dont waste your money people Food
They need to remove their tag line for best samosa s in Toronto.
Food portion went down by half, price double.
Literally best samosas in the town Vegetarian options: Samosa Food : 5/5 |
Very tasty
I like the vegetable samosa for 40 cents each you cant go wrong
Worst respond on call I just call to ask whether i could get box of sweet i am nearby . The girl on call very rudely said we are closed . How ill mannered and unfriendly attwnding customer
One of the best places to eat Veggie Samosa and other Indian snacks.
Should have some veggie curries n less oily or spicy to attract a larger clientele
Food tastes okay.
I wish there was negative rating, i would have definitely given it. The stuff is very Bad.. i would have used the word rude. But they are not rude just very bad at customer service. I try to search them on skip last Friday when the restaurant open in morning but I couldn t see it on skip i called them .. and even after the call they took 2 hours to log in app on skip then i order food on Saturday and they took 15 mins and still order was not confirmed eventually skip had to cancel order.. then i called again to complaint hoping i should be able to get my order this time still did not happen.. i placed order again today through app. Waited more than 15 mins for canbe to confirm order. And while on wait i call them and asked them to confirm it.. the rep was on call with me still she did not confirm the order and when i hang up call the order was decline again as restaurant did not approve it on time.. and now i am never gonna order from them.. the worst experience i have.. they dont even give phone to manager for complaint i called in morning, then noon then evening and every time they said they dont have manager or owner who can take complaint. Just one thing for the owner. If you can t provide order and do customer service then kindly close your restaurant. Thank you
In these times where most of us are strapped for cash, even with food, this is a great , low cost alternative.
Somepeople drive far to get food from this place like me in this case. I called and when they picked up the phone I try to order kotthu but they told me to come in and it will take 5 mins. When I get there they took my order and told me it will take 10mi s cause they are busy! Well, you should has taken my order over the freaking phone! Well, anyhow I said okay since I have waot just 5 more extra minutes. Holy! I had to wait 25min.... cmon guys! Thats just rude well, please change your ways cause thats how you possibly run down your business.
I would have given a negative star rating but unfortunately theres not an option. Today I visited the store and tried to place an order but the customer service people were not able to get what I was saying. They were very rude and was not ready to listen patiently. I wasnt able to see any management between them and felt like they are very confused in handling the store. The store manager/owner should atleast choose customer service people who understands english well and speak in a kind manner. I had to repeat my order many times in a simple language still they were not able to get it. Never saw such a rude customer service people.
Great food if youre looking for sri lankan/south indian food, this place is a hidden treasure. Some of the best samosas and rolls youll ever have.
I called 02 days back to confirm if there was any lamb curry. The person who picked the call said its always available. After 02 days i call them to confirm and the person who picked up said we dont sell lamb curry anymore. Its almost many months. Wow...
Very nice food , specially veg samosas.
Good masala Tea
Samosas are love
Bought the lamb biryini. Very Disappointed. Lacking the lamb taste. Bland. Few very tiny pieces of lamb.
Being a Bangladeshi who grew up with Samosas, the veggie samosa is the best that I ever had.
The samosas are not cooked properly and they have the plastic inside it.
Good customer service. Reasonable price and better quality. Price increased from 18-Apr-2022. Food : 3/5
