My recent business trip led me to Hotel Sept-Îles, where the overall experience was a mix of highs and lows, particularly during the arrival process. On the positive side, the hotel's accommodations were impressive. The room I stayed in was impeccably clean and boasted a modern design that I appreciated. The view of the water added a serene backdrop to my stay, enhancing the overall ambiance. However, my arrival experience was disappointing. Upon checking in, I felt more like an inconvenience than a welcomed guest. The staff member at the front desk seemed disinterested, merely asking for my last name and credit card without offering a warm greeting or any sign of hospitality. This lack of initial engagement left a negative impression from the start of my stay. Despite this initial setback, I'm hopeful for a better experience tonight at the hotel's restaurant. I look forward to a positive dining experience that will complement the comfortable accommodations and beautiful waterfront views.
We stayed two nights, personal I don't have bad experience in the hotel. My room was very clean and ready when I was there. I most admired the out side view from the window. We could see the mountains that middle of the saint Lawrence gulf, walking path and portion of the board yard. Restaurant at hotel had vegetation options at least to eat something for vegetation. The foods are affordable.
Pros- dog friendly and clean bathroom. Comfy bed if you can get past the stained duvet. Nice view if you ignore the big dead bug on the window.|Cons- Floor wasn’t cleaned. Felt very sandy on my feet. No A/C and it’s hotter than hell. I should have researched but I honestly assumed A/C was a basic amenity nowadays. I’ll own that one.|The room is very run down. There is a giant “patch” on the bathroom door. The desk is pretty beat up and the corner of the bed is torn apart.|If you have very low standards and don’t really care about upkeep and cleanliness, than this is the place for you.
This was intended to be a two night stay. I was alone the first night and my child was joining me the next. I did a late night check-in around 9-10pm. The desk clerk was kind, professional and processed me in a timely manner. The lobby was nice, but the elevator and stairs were both very small and old. The hallway is also small with musty carpet and there were beer empties in the hallway and many by the ice machine. My room was very clean, but very outdated. The view is beautiful here. I didn’t get the opportunity to go to the restaurant.||I was in my room long enough to go to bed when I hear a couple of men in the hall being loud, laughing and sounded as if they couldn’t find their rooms as you could hear they were trying to open several doors. They then tried mine and to my surprise their key OPENED MY DOOR!!!! Luckily I had the chain across and I shut the door on them. I called the front desk immediately. She apologized, but needless to say I didn’t sleep that night. Luckily I managed to find another hotel the next day as everything was booked in town for a big tournament.
This was a business trip to a mining, but also summer seaside, town and thus the hotel met all expectations and I would absolutely stay there again. Although the decoration and fittings are a bit worn the hotel is presently undertaking a renovation project. As per Quebec tradition the restaurant exceeded expectations and there was no need to eat outside. For those visiting Sept Iles in the summer this hotel is on the waterfront with lovely views and a balcony to sit outside and enjoy.
Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The view was fantastic. The staff were friendly. The room was a little dated, but the hotel its currently undergoing renovations, so hopefully that will change. Overall I would stay here again.
I had a nice stay on that hotel. Rooms has awesome view. But still the inside needs some renovations. Small gym available inside. (Some machines out of service) Prices are reasonable (4 persons=140$) but breakfast not included on the price. Internet connection okay. For the restaurant: Very friendly staff Decoration is on point Nice dj playing lounge music There was no waiting on the entrance, but food took a long time, but the staff apologized. Prices goes from 20 to 40$ for a meal. Toilets... Meh with papers all around the ground, but it does smell good inside. Place recommended! (Extra: no vegetarian meal offered, and the access for wheelchair isn't easy)
The view of the hotel is great, directly in front of the sea with the soft sound of waves when you sit on the balcony. Our room was renovated nice size and we loved the vintage avocado bathroom! The rest of the hotel, corridors, doors, decoration, lobby need a major uplifting, but the price of the room was incredibly low for the season. So forget the decoration and enjoy the view and the price!
I think there is a lack of staff for cleanliness...remaining hair, lots of dust on the furniture, etc., and noisy doors. You hear the other snoring, I dont understand because it always melts less although on the Gaspesie side

Lets start with the positive, The rooms are renovated and there is a beautiful view of the river. As for the negative, The two beds in the room had not been changed or washed. I had to take the cleaner of the two. One was full of hair and the other had a few seeds. The soundproofing is not perfect, I could hear the neighbor snoring. Facade work usually starts at 8:00 a.m., but on my last night it started at 7:45 a.m. When I reported these problems at check out, I was told, I would have liked to give you a discount, but with Expedia its complicated. As a remedy, I was told that they were going to offer me a discount on my next visit... I dont know when Ill come back to Sept-Îles and I certainly wont return to this establishment. Does zero exist? No, but noise until very late can be fine... I can understand my cardboard sound wall is probably the local party hotel. But construction at 8 am with a noisy metal drill and the two dudes with loud music in their scissor lift outside redoing the facade of the building . thats no! If these WITHOUT Never have warned when booking. Hey HO I paid $232 to sleep there I would have had the right to know that, it seems to me? And at the reception the response was not great (its past 8 oclock they have the right to make noise) hey one thing certainly they have the right legally but the problem is not them these you others the owners and reception to lack respect for yours customer without notifying them and charging full price and OVER PRICE. Also your customers have the right to have the chalice of peace in the morning without having to go through tools and noisy machinery and without being told bullshit at reception and your little game telling the receptionist to forget about you say it... seriously please dont take me for an idiot anymore in any case she didnt forget to overcharge a room for a place and conditions that were worth half as much and Im being generous Treat yourself Go elsewhere if you want peace

Beautiful rooms. The bathroom is clean but the colors are weird the view of the sea and Pointe Noir is magnificent for fishing enthusiasts, there is a quay full of fish 2 minutes away on foot
Very good restaurant and impeccable service
The room and bathroom were recently renovated, the service was good, but the rest leaves extremely much to be desired. We had a room overlooking the river on the ground floor, there is so much noise outside.... but like RIGHT in front of the room door, to the point that we woke up in the middle of the room. night. No air conditioning, it was very hot. In the hotel corridors, it smells of cigarettes. We are quite disappointed.

Constant noise and screams, fire alarm for 45 minutes in the middle of the night, cleaning lady who knocks at 8 a.m. in the morning. Trash everywhere in the yard. Horrible
Worst hotel Ive been to. I booked online. They couldnt find my reservation. I got the last room they had left...far from what I had booked. The payment was made twice and they are not able to reimburse me. I had to call several times without success. In short, choose another hotel!
Own. Leaky window, double billing
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The soundproofing leaves something to be desired but we get by with traffic jams. Good service and good location near the promenade and with bistro 7 in the hotel.
This is where I always go for my sons hockey tournaments and this year I was very disappointed! $568 for 3 nights and the wifi only works half way, I had to use my shared cell phone connection to do my things! at the price paid for 3 nights!!! Noteworthy details: only the view is interesting on the river!!

We spent a weekend in this hotel. We forgot our toiletry bag. I called to report it and I was told that the toiletry bag was not found, although I specified that it was on the edge of the sink but no. When I say it could be the cleaning lady, they smile on the phone. I find the dishonesty of the staff of this establishment scandalous. My dental appliance was inside it will cost me $800. do it again I dont recommend this hotel, due to the dishonesty of the staff but also the sheets of paper which serve as a partition for an overpriced amount. At the beginning, I had very good service. But since I had to change rooms so they could give my room to someone else I have had zero service. For almost two weeks, no cleaning lady has come into my room, whether for clean towels, to empty the trash, for clean sheets or even a quick toilet brush. I had to go get trash bags from reception etc. I still have one week in the hotel and I dont even want to stay anymore because Im paying to have no service. I spoke about it several times at reception but nothing was done. I would like to sleep on cooler sheets and whats more, there is water running on the floor when I turn on the shower because it doesnt close. A little cleaning from time to time in the bathroom is not too much to ask. They lack soundproofing. We can hear the slightest nearby noises. Anyway the staff at reception are all very nice and welcoming. Nothing to say about them. Rooms: No service. Zero cleaning, we are left alone. But very nice view of the river.

We had several problems with the room when we arrived and the staff was able to quickly correct the situation. We enjoyed seeing the owner work as hard as his employees and provide excellent service.
Very good service at the hotel restaurant. Our meals were all excellent. We ate on the terrace overlooking the river. Pleasant and relaxing. I recommend this place!

Fantastic stay at this establishment. Pleasant, clean room, tastefully minimalist decor and above all a breathtaking view despite the winter season. Both the reception staff and the room staff were extremely courteous and caring. The hotel restaurant: Bistro 7, our favorite ! We ate there morning and evening during our 4 night stay. The food was high quality and delicious! The waitresses of this bistro are simply INCREDIBLY professional, competent, infinitely kind and above all adorable! WOW! Definitely worth doing again during our next visit to the North Shore.

the suite cost me $280 for music to play in the corridors all night and I was woken up at 7 a.m. by renovations (just above my room) and when I tried to find out the clerk of the reception only made me laugh, view of an alley and unsanitary room

We called for a room with two double beds, we were told that there were only king bed rooms available. We called back 2 minutes later from another number and suddenly there was a room with two double beds! Despite the reservation made by telephone the same day, nothing was reserved when we arrived. We finally find a room even though the hotel is practically empty... room not clean, hair everywhere, dust, drawer full of junk from previous guests and the smell of cannabis in the room. I was told it was an un-remodeled room, but that did not prepare me for the stench of it being an old smoking room and or the obvious residual bg spray. I emptied a whole can of deodorant spray to make it tolerable to take a shower in, recharge phone n get the wifi password. Actually slept in my truck.

Shabby hotel..no air conditioning..stained towels..no ventilation in the bathroom...humidity +++the only advantage is the view of the 5-star St Laurent golf course..1 star for the room..two for service. The bistro food is ordinary, lunch potato made with ready-to-eat (so already ready and no taste)..overcooked and dry omelette ++theres nothing out of the ordinary...flat food++.I dont Do not recommend this place. We tried to give my sister a room on the 3rd floor, not renovated. The smell of cigarettes was annoying. A dirty carpet. A disgusting bed cover. In short, I dont recommend sleeping in the car. better....

Very well located hotel with a magnificent view! The only downside is that its not very clean and the service is a little neglected. The magnificent but dirty balcony makes us not want to sit there. Lack of towels. They came to bring us some but we were away, so they didnt come back. Very poor soundproofing. At the restaurant, the waitress was very kind and attentive! But my scallop was cold and my salad hot, look for the mistake!

Belle vue de la baie, accueil chaleureux, cafetière keurig et lampe de table moderne. Seules choses qui valent la peine !! Chambre extrêmement désuète, années 70, balcon extérieur COMMUN sans escalier, porte de balcon qui sille avec le vent, draperie aussi vieille que lhôtel, régrigérateur qui plus chaud que la chambre, nen valait pas le prix.

Lunches are very good
Hotel to avoid!!! although we had booked a suite and I had the receptionist repeat it twice when I made my reservation two weeks before my stay, when we arrived the reservation had not been made correctly. We were given a mediocre, unrenovated room, far from what I had requested. After discussion with reception, we were relocated to the spa rooms. Although very beautiful and very clean, these rooms are extremely poorly soundproofed. As a result we heard the neighbor farting in his room and we were not able to have any semblance of restful sleep. The only consolation is the maintenance staff who came to repair something immediately after the complaint, the receptionist who gave us a discount for the room and the hotel restaurant which serves good quality food which makes me give a 2 star despite my extremely mediocre stay. Worse than that, my father-in-law had also reserved a renovated room when he arrived, surprise, no reservation for him! In short, hotel to avoid!!!
Very, very nice room with a view of the sea. On the other hand, very very echoing and even if they put DO NOT DISTURB AFTER THE DOOR, the cleaning lady opened the door very gently and tried to enter our room anyway. I warned her the first day, but she did the same thing the next 3 days. Had to make a complaint to reception. Very disappointed with the way things were done.

Welcome: polite, easy booking, but no suggestions for visiting the region. Room: Unfortunately, I came across one of the unrenovated rooms with a carpet that smells of dust. I still slept well, but nothing more. Balcony with sea and marina views. (See photo) On the other hand, it is a shared balcony for all the rooms upstairs. Proximity: near several restaurants, easy access from the 138. Extra: Restaurant in the hotel with beautiful terrace. View of the sea and sunset. I ate lunch there. Old-fashioned eggs/potatoes/ham. It was normal!

The service is ok, room ok but bathroom from the 70s. I didnt appreciate waking up at 5am by work (or plumbing?). For $165 a night, I can understand the supply and demand system, but I find it expensive.
Too few staff! We feel that everyone is doing their best but they seem to be running out of steam. Our room was not ready at 3 p.m., we waited until 5 p.m. for the cleaning lady to come and clean it. The poor thing was really nice and super competent but seemed the only one in the whole hotel! Otherwise the room was very good, decorated simply but tastefully. The restaurant is very good, the chef and staff are professional and very friendly.

Ill start with the positive: its location in Sept-Iles and the view of the bay and the marina. The people at the reception are very friendly. Thats all. For the rest, unrenovated room, seeing the carpet, there was no way I was going to walk barefoot on it, even downstairs I was hesitant. The armchairs and armrests are threadbare and blackened. The rest needs a big lick of love, and Im not talking about a simple lick of paint. I think its the worst hotel room Ive had in my life (yes Im including 2-3 in Cuba). It has other positives, but it is independent of the hotel, the very good restaurant, and the spa/gym section.

Cold water shower/cold showers
Poor quality internet network, no ventilation for humidity in the shower, a small fridge which makes quite a bit of noise (disturbing at night), the toilet also makes constant noise. In short, not a very good hotel, but the service is good at least.
Beautiful room for suite 218, the view is magical! However, the room is poorly soundproofed, the ice machine in the corridor is very noisy. No air conditioning and wifi disconnects regularly.
If I could give zero I would. If you have a problem they won t even try to accommodate you for the trouble they caused you. Never coming back, very traumatizing experience.

Room was dated, cigarette burns in sheets...smelt like darts. Walls were paper thin, could here one guy snoring to my right and a domestic dispute to my left. Would not recommend. Go next door to Chateau Arnaud.
Beautiful room and beautiful view! Unfortunately the people in the neighboring rooms made noise until 1:30 a.m. and we started again at 6:30 a.m....very little sleep because of them. Damage
Old style room. There is a lack of love in terms of maintenance as well as cleaning hidden surfaces such as the inside of drawers, cabinets and dressers. Otherwise excellent customer service upon arrival as well as upon departure.

I stayed there a few months ago.... And I would like to mention that cleanliness was really REALLY neglected.... shelf, desk, bed border, extra dusty bedding and bad smell in the room and the carpet too :( And the bathroom -dirty toilet -bath and shower wall dirty and with old soap from the old people who were there before me.... I contacted the housekeeper and it was still dirty when she left.....I think it would be VERY important for you I imagine to keep a good reputation. A cleaning MeetinG with your housekeepers would be greatly needed. And.... maybe change the look of your rooms...... it lacks a lot of love..... Restaurant area downstairs super good (but the bathroom is dark and hygiene can take care of it. And the view of the sea is magnificent.
Does not have a power outlet to plug in electric/hybrid cars. Very very vintage room, remember to ask for a room in the renovated part otherwise you will experience a trip back in time the restaurant is very good with excellent service and a very beautiful view!
The hotel would have been decent 30 years ago but it has not aged well. Not only is the decor ancient but so is the wiring with the room losing power in the middle of the night and the heat ceasing to function, leaving you shuddering.

As he left, he gave training to the receptionist. We had to wait at least 20 minutes for them to check in. The room was old, hot and without air conditioning, the balcony was shared with the whole floor and everyone passed our window. Couldnt even open the window even though it was 28 degrees in the room. Because the neighbors in the room were chatting and laughing on the balcony until after midnight. No valid internet network, it didnt work all evening. The sixties blue sink and toilet bathtubs were shabby. The shower was leaking and running down the wall. At $117 per night, we will never stay at this establishment again.
The curtains do not sufficiently hide the outside light. People passing on the balcony can see inside even if the curtains are closed. The balcony handrail is not safe.

It appears there are renovated rooms, but not ours. Its quite old thank you! No air conditioning, a shared balcony for the entire floor.. If you come for the view, no need to go to this hotel, you can see the river from several places without having to pay.

The geographic place is gorgeous and all, but that was that.. The room had no A/C, an awful fan, no exhaustion in the bathroom [which made it constantly moist all day] and some lamps did not work.. I also had a very noisy neighboor that kept talking so loud past 2am that I needed to intervene. The next day me and my girl asked to change rooms because of the many inconveniences, specially the neighboors, to which the staff at the counter said that they checked out but unfortunatedly they did not, so she straight up lied to us to avoid the trouble of finding another room. Another awful night as some people do not know what it is to live in a society and another hot and noisy night. I am never returning to that place.

If it were possible not to give a star I would. We started by having rooms 102 and 103. Rooms straight from the 70s and very poorly clean, stained sofa, half-done cleaning with plastic utensils already used on the edge of the windows. A room change request was made and we were given renovated rooms on the third floor. Even worse toenails and dirt in the mattress, dead moth stuck on the TV cabinet and holes in the wall behind the bed for a renovated bedroom. We operate several hotels per year in North America and this was a first in this situation. We are currently in a period of covid-19 and the health of guests depends on the cleanliness of the rooms. Customer service and room cleaning need to be reviewed.
I stayed in a renovated studio. Up-to-date decoration, breathtaking view. Small, very well equipped kitchenette. The only downside is that the walls are not very well soundproofed.

Very very disappointing... hotel deserving no stars. (yet the location has a beautiful view of one of the industrial zones of Sept-Îles) transitional hotel for forestry workers, construction workers and other passing customers, having rooms and furniture dating from the 60s.
Lack of organization, my room booked online at reception was told that it was no longer available, the restaurants lunch was very ordinary. In general, treasure old hotel, carpet smells, room clean. For me, I wont go back.
Comfortable, affordable, great view
Unrenovated and outdated room! Unclean and smelly carpet!! Burnt light in the bathroom, no fan either! So after the shower, too hot and too humid in the room, open the window, people are smoking everything on the balcony.... very disappointing experience for the price! It was a first and I hoped for better by the river! Total disappointment I will not come back and will not recommend it to anyone!
You have to choose your room those which are not renovated are very vintage say..
The staff dont clean they just pretend to make the bed without changing the sheets, cleaning staff skip entire rooms for several days in a row, keys work for multiple rooms and random people try to enter at all hours, when room is broken into four days pass before lock is repaired, internet barely works, tv often wont work either, multiple repairs dont get done and when you ask for something like batteries/remotes you have to ask several times to different staff who never follow through and eventually you may get them but you have to go to the desk and wait until they actually give you them.

Je suis très étonnée que cet hôtel ce qualifie comme étant un trois étoiles... tout est tellement désuet! Les tapis sont dégoûtants et une drôle d odeur se dégage en entrant de la chambre (ça pu, carrément!). Sans parler du bruit.. on fait juste entendre des portes qui claquent. Au moins, les lits étaient confortables et propres, mais je n y retournerai pas.
They canceled my room even though I had reserved by phone the day before. At 10 oclock in the evening and no rooms in Seven Islands wow quite stressful... Its a shame because he seems to have good intentions for the renovation and all that. There is a bar near reception and its loud and not really welcoming. The receptionist was very kind and willing to help me. It wasnt his fault. The system needs to be reviewed or improved. Really boring little experience. I didnt get to see the rooms that were renovated, but...
Rustic, basic and clean accommodations.
For the location, the welcome, the service. Restaurant to improve (few vegetarian options, limited places...) but very good lunches/brunchs.

Paint was peeling off room walls - wedding reception room was in a basement, either too air conditioned or too hot - 3 managers worked the wedding reception, none of them had the uniform, owner wore an orange t-shirt and shorts - lukewarm rum cocktail served on the bar counter as a welcome cocktail - food service was terrible, some people at the table were given plates and had time to finish them before the other people at their table received their plates - the roast beef was tiny - not a single person working the service had a smile on their face - never again, what a horrible experience on top of the billing issues afterwards /// Paint was peeling off the room walls - wedding reception room was in a basement, either too much air conditioning or boiling hot - 3 managers worked the wedding reception, none of them had any uniform on, the owner wore an orange t- shirt and shorts - woman behind the bar poured warm rum punches as a cocktail - food service was terrible, some people at tables received plates and had time to finish them before the other people at their table received their plates - roast beef was minuscule - not a single person working had a smile on their face - never again, what an awful experience.
Went to the hotel restaurant, great service, meals are great and the view is great.
A little outdated in terms of looks but it is perfectly clean and the staff is welcoming, would go again no doubt, also a very nice view for the same price as hotel without the view.
