Le Trou du Diable - Brewpub & Restaurant in Shawinigan

We had a very good evening, the waiter found us a table even though we had not reserved. Warm and friendly waiter. We ate well, the beers are very good, especially their IPA. You should think about booking for weekends. We highly recommend this brewery which is worth a detour during road trips

We stopped at this Pub that I found while searching on maps, during our Road trip. NO REGRETS. Great atmosphere, very good beer, and wide choice. We had our first Poutine here, it was the best of 13 days! Perfect service. there was noise, but its a Pub! we enjoyed this atmosphere

Very good atmosphere and delicious meal! We tried the wild boar skewers and the excellent salmon dish of the day! Super friendly server! We recommend!

Stop at the pub as recommended in the Routard guide. Wide choice of beers on tap, I tried the cucumber one which was very good :) Then Caesar salad and burger, very well served and cooked! The only downside is the noise incredible to reach such a sound level in the room we have difficulty hearing ourselves speak. Top service though :)

The atmosphere is very good, the beer too and even if there arent many vegan options, the Korean pancake (vegan) was very good 8.5/10. Dietary restrictions: For vegan options there are salads and as mentioned above, there is a Korean pancake which was simple, but surprising.

Nous avons attendu longtemps pour la facture, nous lui avons laissé un pourboire mais parcontre pas assez élevé pour la serveuse, elle nous a dit d apprécier leurs services et que je DEVAIS leur donner 15% de tip OBLIGATOIRE! Non merci, je crois que le tip en est fonction du service recu.

Bison tartare is not tasty like wild meat, very accessible. Excellent atmosphere, plenty of umbrellas, perfect service. The menu is lighter on the terrace in June 2024, but sufficient for me.

I ate the burger plate it was delicious but the portion side for the beef tataki was so little! We would have appreciated if the dishes were better detailed, for example starter or main course on the restaurants blackboard! Please let your staff know which menu is which! But I still enjoyed it

On pourrait croire que faire une poutine ou un burger est a la portée de tous mais détrompez-vous ! Ici, il réussissent a manqué une poutine, un burger et vous vendre le tout a des prix exorbitant ! Un petit extra de 6$ pour quelques grain de fromage dans votre frite et une cuillère a soupe de sauce extra farine!! Très très mauvaise bouffe!

A classic in Shawinigan. The atmosphere on the terrace outside is superb and the menu offered is simple, but very good. My only negative comment is that we had read that the microbrewery accepted dogs, whereas when we arrived there one of the servers refused our dog, despite the fact that there was space apart and that the one of his colleagues had offered to move us there. This is very disappointing and we will not return for this reason. Other restaurants in the same area accept dogs without problem.

A classic in Shawinigan! Impeccable service and warm welcome. The terrace is always crowded on weekends, but there is room inside. The menu changes regularly according to the seasons and local products. Large selection of microbrewery beers, but also cocktails and wine. The dishes are excellent and tasty. I recommend if you are in the area

The venison medallion on butternut puree was excellent. The terrace has enough seats and of course the beer is always good. Favorite for raspberry gose when its as hot as today.

Very nice place! A nice selection of beers. I took the IPA tasting palette. All 4 were excellent. The terrace is large, very well located close to the action . The service was great and very attentive. Pleasantly surprised by the poutine which had a little something very good about it. In short, a must if you pass through Shawi!!

Well, I wont do like frustrated people and give 1 star because I had an ordinary evening. I will try to dissect our experience. I had reasonable expectations for the Devils Hole. To be frank, the atmosphere is cool, the location is superb, if youre looking for a place in Shawinigan to have a drink, this is the place. On the other hand, the food... I ordered the burger. Is there anything safer than a burger in this type of restaurant? Well, this one ranks at the top in my top 3 burgers of shame . Dry bread, bland meatball, plain TDD sauce. In short, a nightmare! Oh yes, I had the extra poutine. Very small portion and the fries taste a bit sour. Bad choice of potato, perhaps? My girlfriend, on the other hand, liked the pudding, I must point out that. Finally, the service is slow. I may be lenient knowing the shortage of staff that is everywhere, but 1 hour of waiting after taking an order is a little too much.

For the price the food is pretty ordinary. We were made to pay our customers invoice because apparently he paid ours by mistake and he could not reimburse the customer or reprint ours. We have no idea if we paid the right price but we feel like it was above what we should have paid. The waitress then told us that she was going to pay the difference out of her own pocket for what is done there and illegal in Quebec. Personally In the future I will eat elsewhere but maybe have a pint and pay in cash.

Typical atmosphere in this bar restaurant where you see the regulars with a drink or pint of local beer in hand, its noisy but super lively, it creates a superb atmosphere. The cuisine was also really delicious with wild meats like deer, if you like this kind of atmosphere go there without hesitation!

Seats at the counter, passionate and very friendly bartender, very good beers, good atmosphere, good music. It was recommended to us by our adventure seaplane pilot and it was very, very good advice . You absolutely have to go there.

Its very nice

Very nice place with a nice character and a good atmosphere. The dishes are original and seem elaborate. The trout rillettes starter is a little disappointing, it really lacks seasoning and its super expensive at $15 for three small pieces. My main meal (sausage, braised cabbage, etc.) is sumptuous! The best sausage I have eaten. Everything was perfect. On the other hand, my partners plate was just OK and not very large (mozzarella with tomato, cattail hearts and dandelion pistils). The beer was good, but they were all very bitter so no choice for lovers of milder, safer, seasonal beer... The service was also quite slow, but it was very busy. All in all, I recommend the place, especially if you like IPA, but the starters are expensive.

I went one weekend to tour the microbreweries, and out of 8 places, it was the only one that didnt want me to massage on the terrace with my dog, even though it was 9 p.m., and he didnt There was almost no one there, there were tables apart and I asked to come and have just one drink. Despite the waiter who was ready to accommodate us, we received a total refusal from an incredibly rigid hostess. I was very disappointed with my experience, especially since I had been visiting the place for several years.

Very friendly welcome and the staff was super pleasant. Fast service and great knowledge in their products. Very good selection of beers and others available. The food was delicious! I highly recommend and cant wait to go back!

Probably one of the most pleasant terraces in Shawinigan on a summer evening! Good beers, good choice of non-alcoholic beers, young, dynamic, friendly and professional service. Unfortunately, the dishes served do not match the quality of the beers. The burgers were overcooked. The European hot dog tasted like soap with slightly strange spices in the sausage. Anyway, maybe we were unlucky in our selection of dishes. We will return, but with great hope!

Great place! Its all there! The atmosphere, the good beer, the menu is super interesting (fresh local products). We loved the semi-cooked salmon! We really had a good time, the waitress was great! We cant say the same about the waiter on the terrace unfortunately (Friday September 10 in the evening), we seem to bother him when we ask questions about the beers or the menu. Little gentlemans attitude I know everything and I dont want to respond to the customer. Next time, well make sure were not in his section . We recommend you!

Good place. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay there as we were on a trip. We got a bag of take away beer. 1 bottle and 4 jars of draft beer right from barrels. Very professional and client oriented staff, nothing will stop them to provide you with what you need. They will find a way to not let you leave with empty hands. Definitely, a must go place and must drink beers.

The take-out burger was very good, except that the meatball lacked a little seasoning. The lemonade was good and the restaurant spot was great!! I wasnt disappointed but I wasnt impressed either.

The name is well established: Le trou du Diable is an essential micro-brewery in Quebec. A wide variety of beer choices, all brilliantly mastered with years of experience gained. The food is quite classic fast food deluxe style: Burgers, Ribs, deluxe poutine. You cant go wrong, everything is simple, but very good. Be careful though, the place can be very busy at times. If so, I recommend that you place a quick take-out order, and eat and drink at a picnic table across the street, on the banks of the St-Maurice River.

An unmissable experience. I love microbrewery beers, and Trou du Diable is always the best brewery in my opinion. Rich range of flavors! Adorable, friendly, professional employees.

Fries to see again. Overcooked or burned. Order the dish with the sausage to go. Arrived home without the vegetables and the puree. $15 a sausage. Difficult to do better. For the rest, its good but for the food its average, nothing extraordinary. Friendly team and fast delivery. Beautiful location and charming place. To have.
