1100 Prom Du St Maurice, Shawinigan, Quebec G9N 1L8, Canada
Unfussy rooms & suites, some with river views, in a modern hotel with dining & an indoor pool.
||Good value and overall this hotel was very good. Good sized room considering I paid for an economy one. Two king size beds , bathroom was clean and everything worked fine. Coffee pods for the machine were good quality. WiFi worked well. Overall very quiet location. There is a restaurant on site and would recommend it for breakfast. |
I asked for a solution for a noisy room that I could not sleep. They offered me another room and clearly mentioned it is free. However the next morning they charged me and I was chocked.
Best accommodations in the area. The staff will go out of their way to help you find what you need. Rooms are clean, spacious and come with coffee maker (Keurig) and fridge. The location is central to Shawi and the view of the river is always a bonus. This has been my go-to for the last several years. Kudos to the staff. Hope they’ll be around for many years to come.
I recently stayed at Hôtel Énergie Shawinigan and had a good experience. The location is perfect, especially if you're visiting the nearby national parks. The staff were welcoming and the check-in process was smooth. My room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. The hotel offers excellent facilities, including a great restaurant, a well-equipped fitness center, and a relaxing spa area. The pool and hot tub were well-maintained and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Overall, I highly recommend Hôtel Énergie Shawinigan for its excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and top-notch facilities. I look forward to staying here again in the future.
Hotel is a bit dated but otherwise excellent - A good working space - Comfortable bed - a great shower - a restaurant on the premise. A great hotel if travelling for business.
Spent 2 nights there and very satified with everything. Super clean rooms, recently renovated with very nice design. Spacious room and bathroom. The hotel has a very nice restaurant for the 3 meals, so no need to go out to get food. The view from the room is amazing , right on the river . Very quite place to relax. I recommend it for a nice vacation or business stay.
The best service I have ever had in my life. What a pleasant and wonderful experience. The hotel staff are very friendly and very helpful, making me feel at home. I hope I will be back very soon.
The people working here were helpful and kind. Check-in was quick and easy, as was check-out. We were unhappy with our room - it was un-renovated and smelled like mildew - we requested an upgrade and were kindly moved to a renovated room which was better, but the bathroom still smelled of mildew. The gym is really old and could use some new equipment. There is plenty of parking but, like the hotel, it needs work, and you need to be careful: there was a piece of metal sticking up from a manhole that would pop any tire that goes over it. The first night we were there it seemed really quiet, but the next night someone was in the room next to us, and we could hear more than we wanted to. The attached restaurant is like the hotel: just okay but staffed with nice, friendly people.
Our work Christmas party was well organized and managed.
Very good hotel right opposite the energy city and a stones throw from many bars and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean. The welcome is friendly.
I loved my stay, the staff were welcoming, the room was comfortable and clean. Rooms: The rooms were well maintained; on the other hand, I liked less the presence of carpets in the room. Walkability: Restaurants and micro-breweries are easily accessible on foot and it is very pleasant to walk in the village and along the waters edge.
Youth hostel quality room, looks like a student room. The furniture is cheap, Ikea style, residential quality floating floor attacked by water from boots. Ah yes RCA TVs with non-HD stations.
Recognition dinner for my wife s 25 years of service. Pleasant evening!
The staff did everything to ensure a good stay. The location is in front of the Saint-Maurice River, with access to bike paths, a panoramic pedestrian path as well as the city center just a few steps away. This is our ideal place in Shawinigan!
The rooms are clean, the people are nice, however, it was super cold in the room and no way to turn up the heating.
Rooms: Odeurs désagréable Rooms
Friendly hotel.
Great location, welcoming and clean. The Paccini restaurant is really a big plus for the hotel. Finally, several large rooms are available and well furnished! I recommend it.
Very nice view of a lake and good food at the restaurant
The musty smell in the rooms is sickening.
We rented 2 rooms with our children for one night. The rooms were clean. The air conditioning was functional although not very useful because the outside temperature was not scorching. The 2 bedrooms offered a nice view of the river. We were able to enjoy the swimming pool and spa. Everything was clean. The staff at the pleasant reception. I recommend.
We loved our stay It was a really nice meeting of friends. Safety: The door bars at 11 p.m. Only the reception door remains accessible Walkability: Great location Food and drinks: Very good meal and AAA waitresses and staff, impeccable service
Rooms need a lot of love (Renovation) Rooms: Rooms need a lot of love (Renovation)
The positives: Well soundproofed, comfortable bed. The negatives: see photos. For $177 it s too expensive!
We were well served, courteous staff, beautiful clean room, the only thing I found the swimming pool a little cold and spa at 104 degrees way too hot, otherwise we had a lovely stay, beautiful view right in front of the lake, lots of restaurants around. Food and drinks: The Pacini is not really good, lunch included with room, 2 eggs and sausages, nothing else on the plate quite ordinary and the sausages not good
Were going back next week, very nice place. Rooms: Very clean and well maintained Nearby activities: The promenade and the wonderful city center Walkability: Everything is within walking distance Food and drinks: The Pacini even gave us excellent service
Good service at reception. The corridors are not air-conditioned and were hot, however the air conditioning in the room was effective. Good soundproofing, comfortable beds. We would have liked to have been told clearly that we had to book for the Pacini, its not easy to know and so we werent able to go. Spacious and well-equipped room, but not very well washed, the sinks were full of hairs Swimming pool and spa were good. A hotel which has a lot of potential but which unfortunately lacks a lot of love and maintenance. Many lights didnt work, worn furniture and a cabinet handle remained in my hand, unpainted plaster patch on the wall... In general its not that bad but I dont recommend it.
Rooms: Très belle chambre confortable Rooms
Very correct. Comfortable bed, spa pool appreciated by my children.
Alright
Nearby activities: Près de la cité de lénergie, on peut y aller facilement à pied, + ou - 30 minutes. Pour des marcheurs rapides cest moins de 20 mins. Food and drinks: Paccini à même lhôtel, resto, bistro, crémerie à côté!
Rooms: Large and clean Walkability: Near restaurants
Nice place need reno
Horrible experience. The room was unsanitary (presence of mold on the curtains of the window and the bathroom, and a very strong musty smell) and the cleaning had obviously not been done. My baby picked up a medicine pill from the floor and almost ate it. Completely unacceptable and dangerous situation. Given the mold in the room and the feeling of insecurity for our child, we left Shawinigan and canceled our weekend. The hotel did absolutely nothing. No follow-up from management. We absolutely do not recommend staying at this place!
Even the nearby restaurants are perfect!!
Very good price-quality. The staff is smiling and courteous. I recommend
Beautiful place and location.
Very nice place Rooms: Own Nearby activities: St Maurice Park
Beautiful large booking rooms and very good service. The on-site restaurant is an asset for our meetings.
We rented the family suite. $350 for one night with very uncomfortable mattresses is very disappointing. Spring mattress too old, The bedroom needs a lick of paint to hide the plaster patches. Otherwise the swimming pool and spa was good, we had a lot of fun and also the location is very good for visiting Shawinigan. Rooms: The Family Suite, they absolutely must change the mattresses and paint the room Nearby activities: Walk along the Maurice River. Canteen, restaurant, bar, energy city
Unfortunately the hotel is not well maintained. The paint is peeling. Its a shame because the location of the hotel is excellent. We are disappointed given the asking price.
Magnificent, very comfortable room in such a relaxing atmosphere! THANKS!
Really dissatisfied with the service! Staff and management are throwing the ball back and forth... No one bothers to actually talk with us. They MADE a mistake in assigning our room, but according to them, it was me who should have asked for the invoice when handing over the keys (Check in). I did not realize that I had a room luxury This means that the room was very ordinary (standard)... OK for a classic room but clearly not for a Signature room!!! I had requested a classic room. For those who love the swimming pool . To avoid. So many chemicals that within minutes we had irritation! The only positive point .. the hotel is well located in relation to the Saint-Maurice promenade.
Tap water takes a long time to become hot.
Nearby activities: Lac en face, plusieurs restos a proximité. Rooms
I had difficulty with my keys getting into my room. Very courteous staff
A beautiful hotel with a view of the water, what more could you ask for? :) Access to a large bike path that runs along the Saint-Maurice River. Very nice!
Still good I expected more according to the photos but very clean Rooms: Room 153 no bath just a shower Nearby activities: Pool Food and drinks: Pacini even has the hotel Noteworthy details: When we are in the hotel it smells very good, comforting smell
Very nice location, near restaurants and view of the Cité de l Énergie Rooms: Very clean Nearby activities: Restaurants, stroll along the St-Maurice, near the city center Walkability: in front of the hotel Food and drinks: Craft beers nearby: Trou du Diable, beautiful atmosphere and great variety Noteworthy details: seen on the city of Energy
Miquel. It s hard to do better in Shawi!
I have not been in the hotel yet, just made reservations for a room for a wedding, and wow the receptionist was super rude, so I ended up booking online. Just hoping the room will give me a better impression, because so far, big zero on the service.....
Very large family room with a small kitchen area, the hotel and facilities are very clean, the swimming pool and spa are very well maintained, breakfast package at an excellent price. For me its the best for a stay in Shawi. We will come back
Very friendly staff Rooms: Those from 100 to 124 very good
Simple and effective
Very good place Rooms: Alright
Oh Boy! Dirty bathroom. Its incredibly shabby.
Excellent place! Very clean room, very comfortable bed Close to everything. Paccini restaurant in the hotel, lunch option.
Do not hold an event at this location, it does not respect contracts!! We had reserved a block of 100 rooms for a conference and they rented part of our rooms to other people so we had to rent in another hotel to fill the missing rooms. In addition, this hotel does business with an exclusive caterer charging an exorbitant price! It s not easy for young people to hold an event there! Noteworthy details: Non-compliance with their contracts
I stayed there for 4 nights in a professional setting. The Énergie hotel obviously benefits from the lack of competition in the hotel industry in Shawinigan, otherwise it would most likely already be closed. - The room: Cold and damp. No heating when I arrived. It hasnt been up to date for ages. The photos on the website show renovated rooms, which is far from being the case for all rooms. - The bathroom: Dirty. The shower head was not flowing and was leaking. I couldnt wash the first day and had very little hot water the rest of my stay. - Soundproofing: Non-existent. I could hear the slightest noise coming from the hallway, neighboring rooms or on the other floor. - The staff: When they dont arrive late, you have to run after them to find someone. When we hold one, it either doesnt have the information, or tells us to talk to someone else (equally hard to find), or it tells us to figure it out ourselves. The management of the room reservation service is disgraceful. The lady obviously has no problem or remorse in not respecting the signed contracts. One evening, when I went to reception, there was no one at the counter and only a card saying back in 15 minutes . After 5 minutes of waiting, the employee came from outside with a Tim Hortons coffee. - Infrastructure: It is unthinkable that in 2024 a hotel will not be suitable for people with reduced mobility. The sidewalks are not level, the entrance doors are not made for wheelchair traffic and the button to open the door automatically did not even work. The most ridiculous thing is that there isnt even an elevator to go upstairs. Event rooms need a lot of love. The lighting is either too dark or too bright and a sick white-green. The options for stages, tables and room layout are highly doubtful. Half of the screens in the home no longer even work and are not replaced. For events, only one caterer is required. It is ordinary and we cannot choose our own. - Food: The restaurant and the hotel do not communicate with each other. Although it is present on the invoice, we are told that it is impossible to put our invoice on our hotel room. In addition, the lunch included in the overnight stay is frankly pitiful. You will probably be better accommodated at the Comfort Inn. Otherwise, simply stop at Trois-Rivières.
Do not do events or reservations with them. An example among the multitude of things that happened during the event: One of my participants was treated to a bathroom with lots of hairs on the floor, and the reception, which cannot be excused, only provided her with a broom and a sheet of paper to pick up. No one came to his room to see the situation. It had barely been an hour since we arrived. The room and room reservation service are two different companies that do not speak to each other. The room reservation service did not respect our contract and overbooked rooms and instead of fixing the situation by canceling the rooms of people outside of our group, they simply referred us to another hotel. Although they claim to have found other rooms available, this is false, it was our events manager who had to negotiate a new contract BEFORE the energy hotel reacted. For the rooms they charged us more than the price displayed on booking as of today. Do you want billing? They will send you an invoice via unprotected Excel file. If you give them a deposit, be careful because they may forget it was made and charge you for it again. Their butler for the event arrived an hour late on the day of our event, without any explanation or apology. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, thinking that we couldnt hear it, the reception manager downright insulted us. Insulting a customer is a huge lack of professionalism, but instead of apologizing, she simply took refuge in the lobby offices. The night team is more helpful and available than this manager who will send you an email per week to put pressure on you to reduce the number of rooms you have reserved to please other customers. If part of the hotel is renovated, you will be entitled to plastic flowers or non-functional shower heads in the other. We had received a lot of bad feedback, but with management changing we thought it would be different. But no. In addition, there is no elevator for people with reduced mobility. The only positive point: the check-in was quick.
I really appreciate your service, THANKS!
Rooms: Divan pas vraiment confortable mais le lit était très confortable . Rooms
We went for a swim, as the town swimming pool was closed. You had to eat at Pacini and show the meal bill to reception to gain access to the pool. We couldnt pay an amount just to have access to it.
Im going there to swim & enjoy the spa with a friend. Very very clean, relaxing lounge chair, well-maintained spa & swimming pool. Gym upstairs all glass. Very large location for showering, soap provided, very clean, I recommend Nearby activities: In the city center of Shawi opposite the Cité de LEnergie, beautiful view of the river..next to the restaurants & pubs Safety: Someone at the entrance to welcome Walkability: We can walk by the waters edge & almost go around it..
Very nice stay! Rooms: Large and clean
Rooms great, food amazing, all in all, great place to stay in Shawinnigan !!!!
Good lunch
This establishment is definitely in need of renovation and maintenance. Holes in the walls, rust, dusty dishes. The spa was really disgusting and most of the jets were broken. It looked like the Shawinigan cataract team had come before us. Avoid this place, and if you have no other choice, dont pay for breakfast online, book over the phone and it will be included. A real disappointment.
Desire
I still came often and found the beds so hard that I felt like I had slept on the floor. Usually all types of beds suit me but my whole family slept poorly and got up with aches.
This place is not as nice as the photos posted by the company suggests. Beds are very firm, think plywood. My room smelt like dog urine after the deodorizer used when cleaning wore off (2 days), they allow pets at this hotel. There was an up-charge for everything, cot bed $10 a night, late check out $25 Plenty of parking available.
Hotel does not respect customers good manners. Walkability: Very difficult to get there in a Ski-Doo.
One downside, no wardrobe or hangers in my room
Shabby, damaged furniture, disappointed, no Smart TV, no temperature control in room, nice pool and spas. Helpful staff, I really dont recommend this hotel. You would think they gave me a room that they dont use?
Warm staff, relaxed atmosphere, restaurant right in the hotel... Room card sometimes defective
I thought I was getting a good deal by leaving for Shawinigan this evening... the plan: not to be stressed on the road, to be near the school tomorrow morning for my teenagers activity, but above all I chose the hotel based on its services. (Pool, spa, restaurant nearby) But I had not planned these inclusions: Children running throughout the hotel, children screaming in the corridors, a swimming pool full of children, a spa full of children ... in short, a bus full of 8/9 year olds in hockey tournaments... Yeeeee. I have nothing against children, the real problem is the adults, the parents who drag their beer everywhere and let their little ones do whatever it takes! I was hoping to take advantage of the last hour of the pool, thinking that these charming little players would go to bed early to be in shape for their match tomorrow... well no! One night at $236 too poorly invested
I share my recent experience during a family trip (2 adults, 2 children aged 8 and 9) in the Shawinigan region at the end of February 2023. REMINDER: as it is a 3-star hotel, I judge it based on comparing to other 3 stars, not to a 5 star. ROOM: We had booked a renovated room with two double beds. It was located on the ground floor. I found the room well equipped (fridge, microwave, coffee maker), generally clean (example: lamp bases were dusty), but the vinyl floor was very cold. Everything was functional. All we were missing was a large bath towel, which we collected easily at the front desk. One thing I really liked was the view from our room, overlooking the Canotiers Park and the water. The beds are a little firm for my taste, but nothing to prevent you from sleeping or getting up stiff! HOTEL: Corridors and common areas are clean. The kids spent a lot of time at the pool/spa. The pool water is warm and the depth is ideal for children. There are showers/toilets at the swimming pools. The only downside was that we had to use towels from our room or get them from reception. The hotel is close to LOTS of activities for families. RESTAURANT: The Pacini annexed to the hotel is great!! Children eat there for $5, the menu is varied, they have good affordable wines and the Bread Bar is a must with children! The service is absolutely IMPECCABLE, for dinner and lunch service! EMPLOYEES/SERVICE: The only employee we spoke to was the front desk person. Very kind and courteous. They advised us on nearby restaurants. We loved our stay. We will definitely go back, probably for a weekend this summer.
Hotel well located in the city center. Clean rooms. Quality restaurant. In the rooms, the decoration is non-existent. Some equipment lacks maintenance. Uncomfortable pillows.
We had a room in the non-renovated section. Really ugly and outdated.
The wing we were in was pretty clean and smelled nice. The staff was friendly and polite and the restaurant on site was nice Rooms: Very disapointed by the room. For the price of 159.00$ + taxes I would have hope to have something slightly better. The heater (fan) despise being set on low setting, it kept 0going on max whenever the heater would go on from the heat demand setting. Also please take those dirty fleece sheets out of it. They dont work anymore. Our floor lamp was not working, had to call the reception to have it replace by a working one. The fridge kept on humming high and gurgling all night. No closet or coat rack to our disposition. (There were 4 small hooks on the wall but they were being used by the ironing board leg as I supposed there was no place to hang it.) Being in the winter, we require to wear outside clothing but there is no place to put them. No closet or dressers Where are we suppose to them? No place to put our suitcase either and 1 chair in the room for two people. The bed was suprisingly hard but rather comfortable. Nice view of the power station.
Unfortunately this hotel is a little rundown, needs more upkeep and some love. Friendly service however...ok for a night or 2. Rooms
Terrible customer experience Charged ($$$) twice for a canceled room. General condition of the hotel very basic.
Definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was clean and staff were friendly. The walls are thin and the floor shakes every time someone runs up or down the back stairs. Seems like a lot of sports teams stay there so you might get noisy neighbours. Furniture in the room needs repair. But overall it was fine. Breakfast was good.
Really unpleasant place. Two of our friends had their rooms canceled the same day, in addition to having their credit cards charged for the full price of the room. We had to reorganize everyone in the remaining rooms. A friend had her room charged twice. The night manager is incredibly rude to everyone he meets. All in all, a truly terrible experience.
Very nice location in Shawinigan; very nice rooms, very clean, well soundproofed and quiet. Lunch vouchers much appreciated at the adjoining restaurant, without leaving the hotel. Several eating places within walking distance. Minor downside: the ethernet cables were disconnected from the internet stations at reception and too short to reconnect :); Very enjoyed stay!
Nearby activities: Excellent endroit pour la famille et équipe en tournoi, espace extérieur pour feu et BBQ Rooms
Classic room, swimming pool and well-appointed spa, the Pacini restaurant next to the hotel is good :) the best is the view of the water right in front, a nice little walk in the calm of the water, it was peaceful and relaxing. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance!!!
Very comfortable room, I stayed there yesterday. Its very good indoor swimming pool, gym and Pacini restaurant annexed to the hotel where we had a pleasant time at the bar with Oli! Customer service at hotel no. 1. Our room had a view of the St-Maurice River, which shows you its great location! plenty of restaurants on foot in less than 5 minutes
Very nice room and very clean. Nearby activities: Energy city, hiking, cycling, Mauricie national park.
Even if the room was not the most beautiful, the comfort was there as well as the amenities. Having stayed in several different hotels, I often had a lousy view from my rooms despite the price. There I was pleasantly surprised by the view from our window overlooking the beautiful St-Maurice River A small hotel really well located on the waters edge with its multiple restaurants all around. Close to the Energy City Island, this hotel is perfect for spending a few days with the family. There is even a swimming pool and an indoor jacuzzi. Excellent welcome and the service was perfect!!
Ready for everything, heated swimming pool and large indoor spa.
This is our second visit to the Énergie Shawinigan Hotel and we are always well received.
A very nice place to stay, clean rooms and a very warm welcome, nice swimming pool and a very beautiful park on the other side of the street!.. and a restaurant right in the hotel
The location is great because it is right in the center of the city. The rooms are fine while you hang out. The hotel is actually a bit run down. We opted for the included breakfast option and the food in the restaurant was really very good. To be with children, they enjoy the pool.
The room was clean and the service courteous.
**Room for worker** Room not very comfortable and very noisy, soundproofing leaves something to be desired. A loud buzzing sound is constantly heard in the room which forces me to wear headphones or earplugs to sleep. A floor lamp is located right next to my window and light shines through even with the blind closed. Considering the price its not a rat hole or a thiefs place, just dont expect to spend the night in the most luxurious room youve ever been.
Beautiful location on the waterfront, normal rooms (it all depends on the price) but nothing exceptional But the friendly staff at the reception but I forgot something there and honestly he disappointed me he told me that he was going to call me back the 5/6 times that I called him but nothing he does the dead
Great hotel and location. Very welcoming staff.
I went there for a conference
A nightmare of a night. Rooms are ugly and cold, it is super noisy and to top it off, the fire alarm rang all night in the hallway and kept us awake. We paid 225$ for this. The reception staff couldn t compensate us and said their superior would call us. Still waiting for that call 1 month later. Stay away from this place
Expereienced an overnight stay at this location. Rooms are spacious and clean. Requires little uplift in organizing appliances. Cofee maker is kept on a microwave while microwave is kept on a fridge. Location is great with great amenties and restaurants are available on walking distance.
First, I want to mention that we really arent the type of customers who usually complain, but this weekend the Shawinigan energy hotel reached unexpected levels. Our room was covered in black mold on all the bottom wall moldings. No room available to make a change and no employee available to clean. I had to clean it all myself. The manager still gave us a discount. The humidity level in the room is so high that the bed sheets are damp and there is a persistent smell of mold. Unable to open the window, we had to leave the bathroom ventilation running to make the situation a little better. The room furnishings were in very poor condition and dirty (roller chair in very poor condition and stained). The spa and swimming pool were not clean (foggy water and dirty canvas). That said, the beds are very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is very basic (2 eggs, bacon or sausage) for about $40 more per room. The advantage: you dont have to leave the hotel and there is an unlimited bread bar. Dont forget to book, because even if its included in the room, theyll turn you away! In summary, we were really disappointed with our stay. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are so beautiful and the surrounding restaurants are definitely worth a visit, but we were fooled once and wont be fooled again. Damage ! Rooms: Outdated and full of mold Nearby activities: Surrounding restaurants are worth a visit
Terrible! old, moldy, dirty, smelly carpet Rooms: terrible....not even the window can be opened because it is sealed. 0 star hotel
We loved our stay and hope to return very soon. Rooms: Very clean
Very ordinary room for $200 per night but very good location and pleasant service.
Ive never seen a place like that... the rooms look like hospital rooms... its gross, dont go there.
Because a picture is worth a thousand words... At $230, not sure we got value for our money.
Friendly welcome and service Building in need of renovations a little dated Beautiful positioning - facing a body of water and the city center
Nearby activities: Plusieurs activités proche Rooms
The decoration of the room, very ordinary. Very poor soundproofing. We could hear children running above our room. Lots of traffic in the corridor and we could hear the conversations as if we were participating in them. Very ordinary lunch included. The only positive point is the location facing a body of water and close (on foot) to good restaurants.
We were not impressed with the quality of the rooms versus the asking price. On the other hand, we see that the staff responsible for cleaning do a very good, attentive job. All in all, the rooms are still OK, only that we expected more given the price. Clearly the Pacini restaurant which is twinned with the hotel greatly increases the level of comfort, no need to even take the car or go out to have dinner. Rooms: 2/5 Quality of rooms 4.5/5 housekeeping (2022) Nearby activities: Devils hole just a stones throw away Pacini Safety: Ok, the basics nothing extraordinary Food and drinks: Paired with pacini its a plus Noteworthy details: Not very good value for money
I was there as part of my work. Poor room. We see that the owner does not want to put money into the hotel. No heating upon entering the room. Cold, damp sheets. Damaged tiles, mold. Old carpet in the corridor, where we see a dented heater. The spa is an indoor outdoor spa. Our room seemed to be one that had not been rented for a long time and whose existence had been forgotten. The employees we meet are either on their phones or they dont say hello to us. I thought I was in another dimension, it was so unreal. Our room For lunch on the banquet side, we were given expired soft drinks. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR BEDROOM AT ALL!!! However, nothing to say about the location and the Pacini restaurant, they are very good. Rooms: Poor room, no heating. Dirty and damaged tiles, toilet seat with cigarette burn. Old dirty carpet from the 80s in the corridor, its terrible.
Beautiful, very pleasant stay, with large, clean room and comfortable bed. Very warm welcome, well located hotel and friendly staff Rooms: Comfortable bed, large, well-equipped and clean room
Large rooms in a quiet location. Ideal for business travel
Friendly and professional staff, both at the hotel and at Pacini. Excellent lunch included. Very nice room, the TV is a little small but apart from that I have nothing to say, everything was perfect.
Hotel well located, clean, restaurant in the hotel. To recommend.
Rooms: Très propre et confortable Rooms
Really disappointing. Very expensive for a poorly renovated motel room with old blinds in the windows, uncomfortable low beds and no soundproofing (I could hear everything from the room upstairs). Very ordinary swimming pool and spa surrounded by carpets like a mini-putt court covering. Otherwise, the reception is correct. A 2 star, no more, and should be half the price.
Sleek decoration, professional welcome, impeccable cleanliness. Visit for lunch, the pancakes with syrup are good... would miss the pastries (at least croissants and chocolatines) the atmosphere is relaxing thanks to the soft music. Visit during the week. Nearby activities: City of Energy, Promenade St Maurice
Very disappointing room. Opening the door, we notice the wall at the headboard all peeling of paint... lots of marks on the walls. The furniture is very old, with a white chair in yellowed imitation leather as a bedside table... the bed creaks, mattress much too firm with pillows much too thick. On the bed, no fitted sheet, the pillows are too big for the size of the pillowcases... the television controller does not work. No soundproofing... you can hear everything that happens in the corridors and you can hear peoples footsteps in the room above....... bathroom from the 80s... mold in the bottom of the shower ... Brief. For a worker, it does the job completely. For the rest, a big 0 for the room. The location of the hotel is super beautiful though. And the Pacini restaurant is in the hotel so you dont need to go out to eat. Much too expensive for the quality... We got along much better considering the price... I do not recommend... We can clearly see that no money is invested in the room...
Disappointing hotel. Very well located and quiet but the rooms are very old. The ugly bathroom, ugly to not enter. The noise from the air conditioning unit was hellish. And to top it off the disappointment of the morning breakfast. Little, no variety. To not return.
Very nice place, the rooms are from the inside no access door to the outside fridge, television and microwave inside the room!
Very nice room with beautiful and comfortable bedding. And above all, well-behaved dogs are allowed!! Certain hotels in Quebec should take this example, zero tolerance for yapping. As a dog owner I agree 100% with this rule.
So disappointed, questionable cleanliness, uncomfortable soft bed, impossible to bathe, the smell of chlorine was so suffocating, I dont recommend it to anyone
For $183 (including taxes) I wasnt expecting a palace but I was still disappointed. Very poorly soundproofed, I heard my neighbors going out to smoke until 4 a.m. (civility is not given to everyone). The window covering let plenty of daylight through. The bedding was clean but of low quality. A mini television, bedside lamps that dont work, old outdated ceramic floor. In short, the hotel changed its name but nothing was done in the room I occupied. The friendly welcoming staff, like many people in Mauricie.
I really appreciated a hotel where my little dog was welcome. The staff are welcoming, the hotel is ideally located and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel, however, needs renovation.
The room lacks a vacuum cleaner, the water in the spa and the swimming pool really didnt look clean, the water was very cloudy. The welcome was really excellent. With the package we took, too expensive for what we got, we had breakfast with paccini, disappointing because nothing on the plate.
Yesterday, my family and I stayed at Hotel Énergie Shawinigan, the room was extremely dirty and our vacation last night was awful, there was a broken glass under the bed.
Friendly and welcoming staff. The room was very clean and comfortable with a very cozy bed. Beautiful location. I will come back.
You would get little for your money. The staff of the place is attentive but the rooms... outdated, floating floor swollen with water, air conditioning that smells musty, blue-white light fixtures with some missing or burned, duvets that I would not give to my guests, towels from Dollarama, a leaking fridge, all the entrances in the back would not pass an inspection by the building authority and so on. We rented three rooms and none were better. If you go through it, its better to go straight. Only its location is practical. A little love to this hotel wouldnt go amiss. Sorry.
Absolutely magnificent
Decent value for money Hotel. As a motorcyclist I enjoyed the convenient availability of parking. Rooms are spacious and the restaurants give decent value for money. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. English communication isn t fluent but relatively effective. Location is beautiful with the medium sized lake in front very scenic and calm. There are a lot of eating options I the surrounding area.
The sink was leaking in the bathroom when we arrived, it took 48 hours before the gentleman came and told us that it was the hood that was dry. So, proof that the room had not been used recently. It was a room for people with reduced mobility, a vertical grab bar next to the bath was missing. The beds are horrible!!! Too soft and not stable enough to reduce the risk of falling. My daughter found a screw on the floor under the bed. Lunches, not enough choice just eggs and meat. The pool floor, synthetic turf, soggy as hell!!! And the water was questionable. Nothing to say about the staff, very smiling and friendly. Disabled parking spaces too far from the door. Great location!!!
very well located, but for the rest, we will return. one of the worst rooms Ive ever had. No, I wont go back there again...
nice
Very clean room. A plus for the swimming pool
Amazing !!!!!!!!!! We had to pay $264/night. I couldnt even be mad because the room made us laugh because it was so ridiculous. Our room was equipped with an old glass desk with an old blue crooked computer chair from the 90s, a sofa chair from the 80s. A microwave that was once white, now yellow. The walls were not painted. Still on the primer with blue sticker everywhere. A TV of at least 18 inches on a desk in very poor condition. The beds mattresses very uncomfortable. The swimming pool and spa...hahahaha dont risk it, strong smell of mold as soon as you enter the room, the water is sickening! Positive. The staff is friendly and the location is really optimal. For $80 a night I could risk it again. Hahah
Very clean room, very well located, more than 10 restaurants within a 1 minute walk. Facing the park and well-lit evening walking areas
A magnificent hotel, swimming pool and gourmet restaurant directly at the hotel. A magnificent view of the river and the energy tower just opposite, without counting on the restaurants and other essential visiting points of old Shawinigan a few hundred meters on foot. I highly recommend.
Some rooms have been upgraded but the rooms in the original part of Hotel have not been yet and it shows. Also got double billed on credit card for the stay which was not able to be resolved directly with Hotel.
The hotel really needs a facelift!!! It s clean but very dated .
Nice hotel, has everything you need.
This is my 3rd time at this hotel and will be the last, excessive price for the outdated room we have, disgusting spa frankly never seen it so poorly clean, fridge in the room that doesnt close and is full of ice. Big disappointment they lost us as a customer
Not bad, clean for me a regret no possibility of hanging clothes and no armchairs to rest.
Very well located, which leads to accessibility to restaurants, walking places, parks and more. Just in front of the Energy City, on the other side of the water. Large swimming pool and restaurant in the hotel. Perfect for a family stay. Only problem is that the TV is small and too low to listen from bed.
Not a great experience. We were told that we would have a room with a king size bed, but it was not. I suspect the newer rooms near the front of the hotel are fine, but our room was at the end of many long and winding halls, near the back. Everything was very old. The bed only appeared to be a double, and the mattress was old and not very comfortable. If I had known this in advance, I could have brought an extra portable sleeping mattress. There were no cots available. One of the front reception staff was irritable and unhelpful.
Magnificent exterior landscape but from the entrance it is a disappointment. The furnishings are outdated, damaged and in poor taste. A real cheap flea market in the room. The cleanliness is questionable and obviously the decoration has not been thought through. In summary, a real debacle since it is no longer the Les Gouverneurs channel. Its sad...
Its been 3 times that Ive called because I forgot something in the room, each time Im told Ill check and Ill call you back. Ive been waiting for a return call from 3 different people for over a week already and nothing!
Welcoming staff and a big thank you to the kind lady at reception who understood my needs and acted with delicacy and kindness. THANKS. The suite was simply beautiful, king bed, hot tub and restaurant right next door. Simply delicious meal.
Clean room, good service.
Clean, but shabby room, missing bulbs in the lamps, very visible signs of wear on the walls, etc. In short, it lacks love.
Beautiful, very clean place.
Staff responds with disdain to cluent Nearby activities: Its well located
Section not renovated. Foam bed Memory. Not too comfortable. Own But due to lack of staff, we have to ask for clean towels as needed. The people there are still very welcoming. Consider asking not to be housed near night workers who sleep there during the day. Although we ask you to pay attention to the noise so as not to disturb them, these workers slam the doors when they leave in the early morning and we can hear the engines of their large trucks. Decent swimming pool.
