I have little experience in Indian restaurants, but the ones I frequented in Montreal and Laval were better. Too much sauce and not enough vegetables and/or meat. Correct food nothing more.

Really good Indian meal! I go back there every week! Really happy to eat Indian in Shawi! Really affordable price and really fast service even when there are a lot of people!

Get a table quickly on Saturday evening. It is a rather small restaurant. Someone put a lot of effort into the decoration. The waitress made an effort to serve us in English. The food came quickly. The mixed pakoras were ok. Instead of the chicken curry I got shrimp. Because of the communication problem, I just ate them. The taste of the food was so-so. My Indian friend would probably have left straight away. The bill came quickly and the two cokes that we ordered but never received were charged. All in all it wasnt expensive, but thats about it. Not a recommendation from me, strange place...

There are 12 of us who arrived 1 hour before closing on a Wednesday evening when the restaurant was already welcoming around twenty of our fellow delegates. We were served like kings. The food was excellent. Impeccable service from the waitress there. I recommend 100%.

frankly I make lamb better and it has nothing to do with the Indian restaurants in Montreal its really not great their lamb in a spicy sauce its floating I hope its a guy from Chicoutimi who made this dish for me because if its an Indian I can tell you you should learn to cook

Good: the pakoras and the decorations Bad: I didnt find the Indian flavors that Im used to, I had the impression that we had Americanized it and its honestly a very big waste. It clearly doesnt give you the taste to discover the flavors and thats a shame because its a bit culinary-speaking that deserves to be discovered. PS the quantities are very small and very expensive I remember that I was complaining about the quantities at Zykka in Montreal but the Taj Mahal breaks all records.

First experience for me and my friend. A beautiful warm decor with a subdued atmosphere. Excellent menu offered by the waitress who knew all the details very well to answer our questions. We were also surprised by the explosion of flavor that was mixed in each dish from the mango to the curry, lime and chili. I highly recommend everything was excellent For the price I have no idea it was the gentleman who paid the bill

The decoration is in keeping with the theme, the chairs are not very comfortable. The dishes are tasty, the service is perfect. The sharing menu is ideal for discovering various menu options. An explosion and discovery of new flavors guaranteed.

The spicy flavors invite you to travel. Perfect for a romantic dinner. Only downside: the room is quite small and the noise can be a little annoying. I recommend this establishment

Excellent food. Very good service. The last time I went there, I found that the waitress spoke way too loudly. I was disappointed to pay $5 for a green tea when it was a bagged tea that I could have bought in any big box store. I would have thought I would get some loose leaf tea. Parking: Parking in nearby streets. Free. Kid-friendliness: Not at all suitable for children. Wheelchair accessibility: Impossible to get there in a wheelchair since you have to go down steps to access the restaurant.

As soon as I entered, I was transported by wonderful smells!!! The friendly atmosphere, the decor, the music, take us directly to India. The flavor-rich food is absolutely sublime. The service is great! Each dish is explained to us in detail. The waitress listens and we feel that we are important, as if she only has us to serve. Bring your own wine restaurant. Make a reservation as it really is a very popular place. Out of 10, I vote for a 1000!

La nourriture était bonne mais les portions très petite. Nous avions commandé un repas de 70$+ pourboire à deux personnes et étions restés sur notre faim (Nous sommes un couple de corpulence normale). Je comprends que cela est probablement dû au coût de la nourriture et de linflation qui ont augmentés mais je leur souhaite quils trouvent un moyen den donner davantage à leurs clients pour leur argent.

My family and I ordered several things, including Chicken and Shrimp Curry. These were bland, tasteless and contained a lot of water. A big waste. I should have gone elsewhere, I was left hungry. Plus the portions are so small for the price of the items, I wouldnt go back there again...

No Indian restaurant in Trois-Rivières, so he was the closest. Already tried other Indian restaurants in Montreal and nothing is better than this one!!

This Indian restaurant completely disorientates us. Their Naan Bread and Butter Chicken are definitely worth a try. In summer we take the opportunity to walk on the waters edge after a meal.

I know that normally Indian food is spicy; thats why I asked before ordering, because I dont tolerate it. Ive eaten non-spicy Indian food before, so I know it exists. So I was told that it wasnt at all. Surprise, when I tasted my order at home it was painful because it was so spicy. That being said, the restaurant looks nice, and the staff are very courteous. So, if you like spicy food, this could be a good choice.

First time eating in an Indian restaurant, and I can say that we came away fans. They set the bar very high for us. For the curious we had the butter chicken with curry shrimp and of course the Paneer Tikka as a starter. I highly recommend to anyone in the area! :)

cozy atmosphere but I didnt really like this restaurant. there was a strong smell of bleach. I had a table dhôte, I liked the starter but not my sauces, the desert was too sweet. the best dish I liked was the nana bread but for the nana bread with cheese you barely taste the cheese. there is also the smell of henna in certain dishes. I really like Indian cuisine but its sad that there isnt one to my taste in Mauricie

Table d hôte dinner quite expensive for what it included. We would have liked to have more varieties than 2 dishes with sauce, rice and naan bread for the main meal . We had 6 shrimps and pieces of chicken for 2 people. A little lack of decoration to make you feel somewhere else.

Fast and courteous service, the menu is varied and excellent

The most memorable thing about my meal was the waitress who told us the three of us are in India to explain the spice levels (one to five). I asked for a five, she tried to convince me to order a three. I insisted on a five and it wasnt spicy at all. In fact, the whole meal was pretty bland. If you like authentic spicy Indian food order a fiver and two or three extra jars of spices or, even better, go to a real Indian restaurant.

Excellent service, tasty dishes

Very tasty, prices are quite affordable and the service was exceptional. The place is very romantic, especially on the terrace in summer. Don t be afraid of dishes that are too spicy, they only add spice on request! I was expecting a bit more veggie options from an Indian restaurant (no chana masala or baingan bharta), but I was able to get by with a dhal and vegetables. This is a suggestion more than a criticism, because what I ate was excellent.

Tasteless cuisine, dishes that seem cooked in water, we are very, very far from India. Only the nan, the rice, the coke and the kindness of the waitress saved the day. We do not recommend.

We are relatively regulars at this place, because it is one of the best restaurants in Shawinigan. Normally we would have left a 5 star review of this place, as the service is usually impeccable, the food delicious and the story behind the creation of the restaurant and the background of the owners fascinating. However, the story was different yesterday when the service was more than ordinary, abnormally slow (35 minutes to receive the menus) and there were so many items missing from the menu that it made selecting a meal very difficult ( no salad, no soup, no lassi and several missing naan breads). The food was still good, however, but the slow service, poor quality and many missing options on the menu diminished the experience greatly. All the same, 4 stars out of 5, because we remain convinced that yesterday evening was the exception which proves the rule.

I have been to this restaurant several times and loved my experience every time. The employees are super friendly and the food delicious! After the closure of the Éléphant restaurant in Trois-Rivières, we no longer had places to enjoy butter chicken. We now have a crush on eating it in Shawinigan! Super efficient for takeaway orders too :)
