151 Rue King Ouest, Sherbrooke, QC J1H 1P4, Canada
Beer was excellent and the owner very welcoming
Great collection of beers. Must try place in Sherbrooke
Very good food, nice service and great beer, I would definitely recommend this place! :)
Nice place to drink a craft beer and enjoy a meal. The special flam of the day was amazing.
A great traditional Pub vibe with food and beer to match. One of the best poutines around. The stout was perfect also.
Great atmosphere and delicious beers and Flams! Really loved it. You must try if you are in the area!
Back here after a few years, beers are still unbelievable good! This location is a most to visit when passing by Sherbrooke!
Poor quality beer for a micropub; this place is far inferior to its competitors. It tasted like ordinary beer you get from the grocery store--only flatter. The waiter wasn't very friendly or fast, even though we were only one of 3 tables that afternoon.
Every time its always a pleasure. I am undoubtedly delighted and happy when I go back. The originality of the beers both in their unique characteristic for taste, both in their own name. The dishes are wonderful. The warm and attentive service is truly worthy of a place that deserves to be encouraged and from which it is always pleasant to return. This place stands out above most.
The best Scotch bar in Sherbrooke. They have pans of all kinds, but for the past year, I think, they have been making a forest poutine with wild boar bacon. A real joy. And the homemade redhead, with a good Scotch, is a guaranteed pleasure.
It was perfect!!!!
Calm and warm
Excellent beer and several different varieties
Quiet and classy atmosphere. Excellent beer!
Great discovery! Good beers made on site. Menu choice different from the usual. To try!!
Super nice experience, I liked the atmosphere, the staff, and of course the beer! There is something for every taste.
There is a selection of whiskey.
Very good service and food
Great place to have a good beer! Excellent, very attentive service! I recommend the Poutine with ribs!!
A charming micro brasserie with a superb elevated view of Sherbrooke! We love the choice of beers and dishes which are of excellent quality: a must!
Very good poutine and pizza , the server very friendly.
Christophe and Angélique forever! The beer is always delicious, the whipped cream too.
The service is so wonderful! We love the place!!
The beer was very good! The very nice owner! He helped us a lot to know what to see in the area! Thanks again!
Always a classic in Sherbrooke!
The sinner is still just as good, even after 15 years!
Great handmade beer in a cozy atmosphere that will likely find you new friends
Perfect from A to Z, with an impressive variety of whiskeys .
Their black beer called LAbenakis is the best black beer in Sherbrooke
WoW Christophe and Angélique gave us a great welcome. The beers are simply delicious.
At La Mare au Diable, you will always have exceptional service and an impeccable menu!
Excellent micro brewery beer, perfect atmosphere for conversations, highly recommended!
Good beer, nice terrace on King. Christophe the brewer well done
Excellent to share with friends
I would return without hesitation. Im not saying more, go for it!
I tasted the beer of the moment which was an abaye beer it was very successful. Cool place
Amazing, delicious and warm :)
Good beer and good service! We will return!
I visited on December 18, 2019, so there may have been improvements, but its hard to say if I would return. I wrote this immediately after my experience but didnt post because I hate leaving bad reviews, but how do you improve? IN SHORT: The beer was sweet and the food mediocre. The service needs to be improved- not like most of the more humble experiences Ive had in Sherbrooke. FULL REVIEW: I went with my husband. We were not greeted or provided with menus for over five minutes. It was actually a customer at the bar who told us to sit anywhere. The waiter definitely saw us since he told the people at the bar (who at this point were leaving) that he would head over once he finished serving a table in the back. My husband wanted to leave, but I asked him to give the server the benefit of the doubt, that maybe he was really busy. I speak with more than ten years of experience working in restaurants, it is important to interact with anyone newly seated in the first minute, otherwise the customer has the impression that their business is not is neither desired nor appreciated. Its also common sense: 1) the table in the back was making so much noise, its clear that they had been there for a while, 2) it takes less than a minute to place menus, 3) the People need time to look at the menus anyway, better get them there ASAP. When the waiter finally saw us, I appreciated that he spoke English (and well!) since my partner doesnt speak French. We tried four different beers and they were all surprisingly sweet and less carbonated than most craft or microbrew beers we are used to. As a dish, my partner chose the Sherbrooke pan and I ordered the Doubidchou flam. His meal was oily and he hoped the acidity and effervescence of his beer (an IPA) would balance his meal, but that wasnt the case. My meal, consisting mainly of brie, apples and bacon could have been improved with a little acidity also to balance with the fat (the apples were not sour enough) so I asked for balsamic vinegar (the combination of brie, apple and balsamic vinegar is nothing new). Unfortunately, the waiter said he didnt have balsamic vinegar or any other vinegar (yet there are five salads on the menu ). As we ate, it was hard not to notice that everyone else who arrived was greeted and given menus in a timely manner. They were also all white, but maybe that was just a coincidence When we paid at the bar the waiter said he was sorry we didnt have balsamic vinegar but the food was French (at which point a man at the bar snickered). Its presumptuous of him to think that because we are primarily English speakers (and not white), that we dont know French cuisine. He then went on to say that their salad dressings were made with beer- sorry, but THAT doesnt sound like French food! What is Vinaigrette ? An English term? Who doesn t start with VINEGAR ?! My partner is from New York where we ate at amazing French brasseries and restaurants (with vinaigrettes made with vinegar lol). I grew up in Quebec, spent time in Alsace and Paris, and my Swiss father only cooks French food. If the objective was to alienate us, well done, well done
The beers are very good!! Good service too
Excellent beers and food! Warm atmosphere perfect for meeting friends or an intimate one-on-one meeting, at any time of the year.
Very affordable menus, without covid tax. Good food, good beer, very good service, very quiet place, nice terrace. I love this place
Super experience
We spoke to the brewer, he was super friendly, the beers were excellent, especially their scotch ale. The skillets are for big appetites, keep that in mind!
Excellent food and beers!
I really liked my experience. Meal beers
Great place, good products, generous dishes and very good value for money. Adorable bosses
I love being able to chat without the sound of loud music or TV screens! The beer is good, the pans and flans are excellent. The bosses are super nice. In short, I highly recommend :)
This place, saved in my favorites, has earned this place with honor. A must stop every time I travel to Sherbrooke, I enjoy it every time. This establishment is full of honesty. Unchanged decor with a warm welcome for several decades. I even had the chance to meet the master brewer, a humble man recommending the lager on the menu. I was initially skeptical, since blonde is not the most successful style in the Quebec microbrewery world, but I was pleasantly surprised. My favorite, on the other hand, goes to the Pêchère, a sweet peach redhead, a seasonal beer having woven its place in the perpetual lines of the microbrewery by popular demand. A pure delight! Also take the time to taste a home-made dish (I like to taste the flamekueche of the moment) with your pint, your throat will thank you! Health!
Always good seasonal and good service!
Great place, even if it doesnt look much from the outside. Very good cuisine, with fresh, local produce. Really excellent beers. Fast and friendly service. Prices more than fair. We will come back with pleasure!
They do not accept dogs on a leash in 2020.. Come on! I have already visited quite a few breweries in the region... to avoid if you are taking a trip with your 4-legged friend..
Excellent beers. The atmosphere is particularly warm and cozy, the servers are very friendly and professional!
A beautiful microbrewery to discover, the taste was there, the service was there and the owner is really nice
Unique experience in Estrie! Beer, fort, cocktails, food; everyone finds what they want there. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. An unmissable in Sherbrooke. - Unique experience in the Eastern Townships. Beer, spirits, cocktails, food; youre guaranteed to find what youre looking for. The staff is both kind and knowledgeable. A must if youre coming to Sherbrooke.
Best microbrewery in Sherbrooke, period If you want to chat, its there
The beer is excellent... The owner has a dubious sense of humor... But so authentic ;)
A very good evening Good beers a good meal And I advise whiskey lovers to stop here because the choice is remarkable Thank you to the owners and facilitators of the pond
Good beer
One of the best beers in Québec
Amazing place To Try in good company :)
Yum delicious Abenaki beer!
Absolutely delicious beers! The food & snacks are finger licking good! And what about the staff! Always smiling, welcoming and above all entertaining :) Definitely my place in town for a good fret and a good evening!
Dont go there for the beer, but for the whiskey. The character and the atmosphere are great, quite quiet, one of the most beautiful terraces in town. For beer lovers, these are pretty lousy in general (there are obviously some exceptions). Their knowledge of whiskey is top notch, good choice of whiskey with good advice..
Very nice place, quiet, nice selection of whiskey and food is decent
The location is good, but the places are shabby. Also, the owner doesnt care about his customers and it seems to be the same for his employees
The place for scotch lovers
Excellent beers and calm atmosphere ideal for chatting with friends.
A legendary place!
Very good beer! The server was super friendly and funny. Very good time spent on the terrace. The small living room inside is very warm.
Superb place, a great view, affordable prices and attentive and very welcoming staff! we
Very good evening, a warm welcome and excellent products! Not to be missed!
Good place for good informed advice!
Excellent beer, quiet atmosphere, place where it is easy to have a conversation, best prices in Sherbrooke for microbrewery pints, the food is delicious and generally the order is taken and the first beer arrives within 15 minutes .
One of the best places in Sherbrooke, whether for the service, the quality/quantity/price ratio, the relaxed decor, the excellence of the beer and its originality... Truly WoW!!! Dont be fooled by the exterior, its the interior that needs to be discovered.
Excellent atmosphere and service.
Very good microbrewery, the French-inspired cuisine is fabulous and the staff are super charming. The atmosphere is warm and the music is not too loud.
Warm atmosphere, friendly service, excellent food, I recommend the Flams or the skillets! Half with Caesar salad Good, comforting food in winter and a nice terrace in summer overlooking the city center.
Loyal customer since opening. Even though I drink less beer than before, I still go there for the food (the pans and flams are excellent, the portions are generous), for the atmosphere and for the friendly staff. And in summer for the terrace too, perhaps the best located in Sherbrooke.
Probably the best beer in Estrie and the least known at the same time! This place deserves to be discovered.
Very disappointed with our experience. We were 2 couples, the place was full to a quarter of its capacity. We waited a good 15 minutes. before receiving our beers. As we were in a hurry, we asked for the quickest dish to make. We waited over 45 minutes. before receiving our dishes, we had to leave without having time to eat. Very disjointed service, although the server was friendly and seemed to want to do well.
I was surprised, the decor needs to be reviewed but everything else was very good, good beer, good food and not expensive!
Beautiful beers, super appetizing meals, very pleasant staff. A great place to come with friends and colleagues!
You should not make too much noise and be patient during the service. Beer varieties going from good to bad. Take the time to inform yourself and dont dare too much
Excellent service, friendly staff, good black IPA but I admit that I would prefer it with a little more bitterness. The bread gratinated with garlic and cheese is a delight...
A beautiful atmosphere at a good price!
The best bar in Sherbrooke. Beer made on site of very high quality!
Good service but beer and food very ordinary. No atmosphere around dinner time.
Very disappointing welcome
Excellent place for a beer with friends The decor leaves something to be desired The menu is limited
The beer isnt worth the trip and its definitely not clean. I definitely dont recommend this place.
Friendly brewer, most beautiful terrace in Sherbrooke.
Best peach beer I have ever had! Friendly and quick service.
Very good beer, the food is excellent and a subdued atmosphere! Ideal for beautiful evenings!
Best crafted beers in town!
Good beers and good service
Good beer cheaper than elsewhere! Average service...
The beer is excellent, especially the sinful one!! And their nachos: UNBEATABLE!!!
The beer is too expensive and tastes like cigarettes
Excellent beers, pleasant staff. Place not well known for all the charm it has to offer!
The food was very good, the beer was a sometimes ordinary, sometimes excellent sensory experience. Unfortunately the service was deplorably bad. The owner doesnt take criticism well either...
