Auguste Restaurant in Sherbrooke

Good restaurant, I think I had relatively high expectations and compared to these, I experienced a little disappointment. The main meal, pasta with seafood, was pretty ordinary.

We went to the restaurant to Sherbrooke set the table and ate the evening menu. The soup was good. The starters lacked flavor and the foie gras dish, which adds ten dollars to the bill, is not worth it for the quantity (two miniature slices of foie gras au torchon. The combination of flavors in this dish was interesting, without more. The mousse and gravlax starter was too bland. The risotto was way overcooked, so much so that it was pureed! The mushrooms on top were waterlogged. Really disappointing. The service was OK.

It s a must in Sherbrooke. Whether for a business dinner or a romantic evening...everything is there. Well done to your team for the excellent service and exceptional taste. Its nice to be in an intimate and warm place. A very reasonable price range for this fine cuisine. Excellent all round. One of my favorite restaurants in Sherbrooke.

The service was excellent from the moment we arrived until the end. The employees were smiling and attentive. The food was excellent and we were able to discover rich new flavors. My piece of beef was cooked as requested. There was also a good offer in the non-alcoholic category.

The food is always so good every time I go there! I have dietary restrictions and they made me feel very welcome. And very good service from Martin!

Very good refined style restaurant. The crab cake as a starter could have been slightly less brown and more golden. The red wine sauce accompanying the black pudding is excellent! On the other hand, the pudding was slightly too foamy (therefore less firm) for my taste. Excellent service.

Good bistro known to Sherbrooke residents. Prices are linked to the market. The service was just as good as their food. In terms of cuisine, quality of ingredients is good, typical dishes (tartare, risotto, etc.). We dont come away impressed, but its a good convenience store if you have no other options.

Main course (spaghetti pancetta leeks) without any particular flavor...disappointing.

Very good and correct portion

Nice atmosphere, good location. The service was good. I had the kimchi starter with ricotta dumpling, it was excellent. The main meal I had the strip filet with vegetables it was really good however the fries were really too salty I didnt eat them... For dessert I had the cheesecake, it was good but nothing more.

Very nice atmosphere and great service. I would have hoped for a little better main course considering the cost of the meal. For my part, the duck breast was very good, however it was not very tender. For my partner, the beef brisquette had a lot of tightness and not very high quality.

Delicious, wonderful in every way. Kindness and politeness when ordering by telephone. Perfect packaging, as soon as you open the containers you salivate so much that its beautiful and appetizing, plus you have the instructions for reheating the dishes. The risottos are more than excellent!

This was my first experience at this restaurant. Being vegetarian, I found it really expensive for vegetable and quinoa tartare accompanied by crouton. I dont really understand why the reverse poutine is more expensive than the other starters, since its already expensive... For dessert, a cheesecake that was rather disappointing and very bland in taste. What about the atmosphere? Lots of people, therefore noisy, but there was also a young child near our table who screamed and cried for a good part of the evening. Not very pleasant to celebrate mothers birthday... Vegetarian options: Very $$$ for what it is... Very little plant protein.

We went to dinner at Auguste this evening to take advantage of the Sherbrooke met la table promotion! As usual, we loved our evening. Food and atmosphere #1, but above all we would like to highlight the excellent service we received. Thanks to Lisandre for optimizing our experience.

There were three of us trying the Sherbrooke met la table menu and we all ordered the same thing: creamed corn as a starter and papardelle with mushrooms as a main course. The creamed corn tasted nothing, even the bacon had no flavor and the corn kernels seemed burnt and stuck to the teeth it was unpleasant. The main course was so sweet that it was heart-stopping. All three of us didnt like the meal and for all three we have been back at least 3-4 times and are always disappointed. However, the service from the blonde lady with short hair who is present every lunchtime was impeccable.

Very good meal and attentive service! We particularly appreciated being able to have just a carafe of good wine and reasonable portions for a Tuesday evening.

Me and my girlfriend have been going there for several years now. We have tested several restaurants in Estrie and the Montreal region and we can definitely say that this is our favorite place. Everything is perfect between discovery, flavor, atmosphere and service. Even the price/portion ratio for those less accustomed to fancy restaurants is very reasonable. It is definitely an unmissable gourmet destination in Estrie. Congratulations to the entire team who have been succeeding so well for many years now. See you again soon!

Service très bon, je suis déçu car ma pièce de boeuf aujourdhui était vraiment trop cuite et je navais pas le temps den commander un autre. Jai commandé medium rare et le steak était brun complètement. Lambiance était aussi un peu bruyant avec des plafonds très haut alors ça donne limpression cafétéria, et je mattendais pas à ça.

However, the food followed the price, so a little disappointed with the quality of the food (however very drinkable). Still passable, what was less so would be the fact that despite a reservation we had to wait more than 30 minutes before getting our table. We received a starter in the 2h40 between the time of reservation and the arrival of the main course, I understand that this is the kind of restaurant to take your time to eat, but when you have to allow almost 3 hours of The time comes when we would be hungry, that doesnt hurt...

I usually love this restaurant. On the other hand, the last two times, the salmon tartare was really disappointing. All five of us ordered the same thing and were all disappointed with the seasoning. No taste... I dont know if the recipe has changed but please bring back the old one!! The dessert saved the bill

Parking: No fault of theirs but parking downtown is non existent

Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. For context: when I go to a high-end restaurant I expect quality ingredients. 1. The bread served before the starter was not fresh that day. 2. The starter was not hot (I had a crab cake). 3. The mushroom risotto was supposed to be served with parmesan, but the taste of the cheese was so horrible that I couldnt finish my dish. I have doubts about the fact that it was parmesan anyway... 4. My partner had a beef burger and the meatball was grainy. 5. The dessert on the other hand, was excellent. (I had a puding chômeur) In short, it was the first and last time. I hope I just had a bad evening, because all the reviews are mostly good...

I had expectations for this dinner. The waitress was efficient and friendly. Fresh oysters and delicious drinks. It was in the food that I was disappointed. The seafood pasta was really really ordinary. The overcooked steak... in short, we wont go back.

In the past, we have eaten at Auguste several times and we were leaving from Montreal. It was our favorite restaurant! Last Saturday, we retraced our steps to get there. On the other hand, very disappointed with our evening...the upside-down poutines were cold, the raviolis were dry and the polpettes were lukewarm and rubbery. Its as if we had leftovers from the evening.... Unfortunately, I dont think Ill go back.... its a shame.

What a great experience we had at Augustes in old Sherbrooke! We hardly ever see blood pudding on US menus so when we saw that Auguste had it on its menu we went for it right away! It was out of this world, cooked just right, crispy on the outside, yet moist on the inside. It was served with mashed potatoes, cooked red cabbage, and covered in a delicious brown sauce that added just the right moisture needed for this dish. Do not hesitate to order this great dish, you will not be disappointed! Our friend had veal liver which looked just as appetizing as our boudin noir.

I have been to this restaurant twice now, the atmosphere is warm, the service is top notch, the food is just very good... I highly recommend this magnificent restaurant.

Impeccable service and excellent food! We tried the crab cake, the guinea fowl, the rhubarb chômeur pudding and 2 drinks whose names I forget and everything was more than delicious!

The service was great and our hostess made sure everything was to our liking throughout the meal. A place to discover!!

Although we have come many times, I must say that this evening was really very disappointing in every way... 45 minutes of waiting for a drink, finally arriving at the same time as the meal, meh... then the reverse poutine was served to us cold, no apology from the waiter, but he still brought another one, and billed us twice at the end! The cod was flavorless, overcooked, tasteless... in short, I left my whole dish so bad it wasnt good ($40!) Then the invoice arrives with not 1 error but 2, a total of $20 overcharged if we hadnt paid attention. And again no apology from the waiter, no commercial gesture for the cod either... In short, really disappointed with our experience, I think this evening will have been our last time unfortunately...

Pretty good. The $20 special is awesome and the fries are some of the best weve ever tasted. On the other hand, there are details to improve. The wine menu with torn edges and therefore impossible to wash properly is a little disgusting, and should not touch utensils and plates in times of covid. The general tao chicken is very original and interesting, but in the end, clearly too sweet, and lacked rice to dilute all this extremely sweet sauce. On the other hand, the trout tartare from our previous visit was very good. The lack of stocks at the end of the evening could also be improved. Yesterday we had to give up both the gazpacho and the tartare, both of which were out of stock. The staff is very friendly and despite these small details to improve, we will return, but we will undoubtedly call in advance to reserve our dishes.

Delicious food as always and above all extremely efficient service! The server was attentive! Ideal with our two young children. Delicious childrens menu too and different from other restaurants. Very good welcome, service, atmosphere and meal. On the other hand, watch your bills, the waitress told us and charged the wrong prices. They later refunded us when we noticed and reported the errors.

Passing through Sherbrooke, and without any particular expectations, it was my surprise to discover this little gem. Impeccable service, dishes to die for and EXTRAORDINARY desserts made on site by a pastry chef. Special mentions for their inverted poutine, the flank steak (dish of the day) as well as the carrot cake. I will without hesitation make the trip from Montreal again just to eat at Auguste again. Congratulations for your work, if I could I would give you 10 stars!

Very good!!! We went there for Sunday morning brunch, $20 for the standard table d hôte. Its really inexpensive for the quality you get on the plate. We loved it.

Correct but nothing more.

For the starter, I had fried squid which was good. On the other hand, I was very disappointed with their Provencal-style vegan hamburger. For a much more affordable price, you can find better-tasting vegan hamburgers at Café Sketch... The upside-down poutine is worth trying for curiositys sake, but it tastes pretty much the same as a regular poutine. I continue to believe that Snack offers a more interesting choice of varied poutines. As for the risotto, it was a little mushy. On the other hand, the shortbread for dessert was good. In summary, I think the prices of the plates are a little expensive for the quality of the contents.
