Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar in Sherbrooke

We were happy to try this restaurant, the setting is very beautiful but the soup was served in bowls that were not very clean (soup dripping on the outside of the bowl), a well-cooked steak arrived charred and the fries were very hard, we will not return to it.

Accepting reservations, but when people arrive to tell them that we will have to wait 1 hour.... we turned around, like everyone else at that time. You knew this morning that there were short staff in the kitchen, no mention when making reservations or no telephone follow-up = big lack of respect, UNACCEPTABLE!

First and last time I go to the Baton Rouge if I could have given 0 stars I would have done so. I arrived at 6:48 p.m. and I received my meal at 8:40 p.m. almost 2 hours of waiting for my meal and whats more, I was not served the right meal and the meals served to members of my family tasted like they were burning. Very disappointing with a bill of $174 that is difficult to digest.

A pleasant experience every time you visit. Never been disappointed by the food which is always delicious. The service is also always very good, they know how to retain and exploit the added value of good customer service.

Angered by the waiter ..This is the second time we have gone there and the second time we have been disappointed, the water refills are rare to the point that we were drinking from other peoples glasses at our table in waiting for the next refill, my plate was cold, rice not very good and service was pretty average. When it comes time to pay, I dont think the service really deserves a tip. The waiter absolutely ANGRY at me, telling me to stay at home if I didnt want to tip... there were 7 of us and we were all shocked by the disrespect. (the others had left a tip before that of course and we regret) Anyway, next time well stay at home eh

Very pleasant moment, there were a lot of people and yet the team managed it very well. Excellent rare flank steak, good beer recommendation from the waiter. The sauce on the flank steak is useless, however I put it in the vegetables and it was very good.

Although most people might find Baton Rouge a good restaurant, but I find them very overpriced for the quality. Their food is not bad but its not worth the cost!

We went to eat at Baton Rouge on August 21, 2024 for dinner and we were very disappointed. We were with a group and we were expected. The order had been given in advance. The main meal was ok. It was very good. The salmon was excellent, cooked to perfection and so was the salad. For these 2 items, I have nothing to complain about, however for dessert and coffee or tea we will come back. I didnt get my tea because the service wasnt up to par. We had to go. So I dont recommend this restaurant for a group that is limited in time. We arrived a few minutes early and so normally the waiters should have been able to serve us properly. Parking: We were on a bus and it seemed easy enough to park

Food is comparable if not competitive with Montanas in Ontario. There is too much sugar used wherever sugar is an ingredient. Service was very pleasant and professional. Rustic, comfortable environment. All in all, it was a good experience. Dietary restrictions: The dietary menu offerings are well thought out and accommodating a wide range of offerings. Nice surprise

Just about the worst prime rib I ve ever had. Can t believe that a restaurant can serve so poor quality of food and still be in business. Been there done that for me. You won t see my face again.

The atmosphere was good and the server was super smiling! On the other hand, I ordered Mac and cheese as a main course and the first time it unfortunately arrived cold in the middle! This might have happened, so I returned the dish and the waiter was nice! He made me a new one! The second time, the dish was unfortunately still cold/frozen in the middle! We were in a hurry so I ate it like that. I think it might just be a problem with the oven that evening:/ My friends dish was hot and very good!

The service was excellent and the food was good. Large plate, but not that much food on it (lets say not enough to roll on the ground after eating). Everything was hot and well seasoned, however, the vegetables were a little lacking in flavor.

Ribs are supposed to be their specialty and yet they were dry and without much taste. We were 6 adults and 5 children. 3 adults ordered ribs and we all had the same opinion. We were the same people that went about 2 years ago and I complimented the chef for the ribs, so something has changed. Parking: Ample free parking Kid-friendliness: We ate on the terrace so the kids were able to move a little more.

Very disappointed with the food, it was very salty and the portions were very small for the price it cost.. Our server was nice, but clearly overflowing because our water glasses remained empty throughout the meal and he was not didnt come to validate if it was to our taste. However when we told him it was very salty he apologized and brought us a cake, which was nice of him. All in all ok, but unfortunately we wont be going back :/

They have reduced the choices on the menu but there are still plenty left. Prices are much lower than elsewhere. A whole rack of ribs for $28 served with fries! I also recommend the spinach dip. A portion more than enough for 2 people! The only problem with the service was that we had to ask for a water refill. They made a mistake in the kitchen, asked for sweet potato fries which cost $3 extra but we didnt receive them. When we mentioned it when receiving the plate, the waiter apologized and immediately went to rectify everything. Finally we had the portion of fries plus the sweet potato portion and they didnt charge us extra. I recommend. A bill for 2 people including 1 starter, 2 plates of ribs plus a 15% tip, all under $100

Started with a drink at the bar. The head waitress that took my order was dry and curt. The waitresses that prepared and served my drink order and later my food order were amicable and warm. They deserve the honorable mention for service. The food however was disappointing. My ribs were dry and and the truffle parmesan fries only tasted of cheap jared garlic. The portions are far from generous for the price. The beef tenderloin was butterflied and served with steamed frozen vegetables. I expected a lot more for the price. I will not be going back.

The food and the place are great..but i got a little dissappointed with the waiter.we went last saturday, and upon paying our bill the waiter insisted that we MUST give a tip and should be not lower than 15% bec according to him the minimum should be 15%. Dinner was fantastic. Our waiter was great very helpful. We had the garlic bread au grautin to start which was delicious. I had the salad with Ahi tuna. The tuna was cooked perfectly. My partner had the chicken with mushroom sauce and he said his was delicious too. I highly recommend.

The prices are too high for the quality of the food. $45-65 for just the steak. The side salad that i switched to from potatoes was very disappointing.

The Bâton rouge de Sherbrooke is usually a safe bet, unfortunately very disappointed with the service last night. In the bar section, ordering was quick, our drinks and starters arrived quickly. It was afterwards that we were disappointed. There was a 50 minute delay between serving the starter and the arrival of the main courses. During this delay, at no time did the waitress come to serve us water (only one of us had had any initially, which is strange) or ask us if we wanted anything else to drink while waiting. Then I had to flag him down for extra water at the end of my meal. My partner would have liked dessert, but he was so angry that he let it happen. In short, a breach of basic service rules. Fortunately the dishes were very good. Unfortunately, due to this poor service, we will not be returning anytime soon.

On the menu a suggested red wine or this one was very tasty followed by a steak with lobster. I asked for medium rare cooking with a preference for medium rare and that is exactly what was offered to me to my great surprise. In my opinion the lobster was slightly bland but I must admit that I dont have much of a sense of smell so this may have affected my taste. taste obviously. Efficient, courteous service without the attentive touch that would certainly add to its charm.

I had an incredible experience at Bâton Rouge in Sherbrooke thanks to the exceptional service of our waitress, Patricia. His professionalism and attention to detail was remarkable. She was always there to meet our needs and make sure we had a pleasant time. Patricia was extremely friendly and warm which made our dinner even more special. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was able to recommend delicious dishes to us. I made a reservation in the morning at 10:20 a.m. for a small group of 8 people at 5:45 p.m. Orders were taken around 6:15 p.m. Meanwhile, tables of 2 people were coming in and ordering happily. We received our food at 7:27 p.m., I took a photo for the time. My 2 boys ordered the prime rib au jus, one received a New York. We notified the service, but we were strongly contradicted on the basis of our arrogant experience. In short, the food was hot and very good. More than satisfying portions and decadent desserts. We paid the bills and left the restaurant at 8:30 p.m.

Very disappointed with the welcome and table service. Never make a customer wait more than 10 minutes without having served water or something to occupy them while they wait. Inexperienced waitress without any basic knowledge of how to hold a bottle of wine. Never put your hands on the open neck before serving. We warned the hostess that we are going outside to stretch ourselves given 30 minutes without any food. When we returned, the wine and the utensils were already replaced with new ones. In addition to my wifes scarf missing...5 stars to the French waiter who reassured us. Even in busy times this is unacceptable. I do not recommend this establishment from now on. I have been a regular customer of the Baton Rouge Sherbrooke for 3 years, me and my partner went there I could say thirty times a year and more. There are the 2 impeccable waiters Rousseau, François (tattooed head) and the boy with thick black hair and glasses (his name escapes me, he studies finance) who are all very nice. To tell the truth, the service and the atmosphere are the strength of the Baton Rouge Sherbrooke. The situation that means I wont be going back for a long time is my purchase of 6 $100 gift cards during the month of December that I made and the scratch cards that came with the purchase of the $100 gift cards. uniquely. On January 12, I showed up with my partner with the intention of using my 2 cards for 2 desserts and there the constraints fell!! We took 2 bottles of wine, the promotion on the Parmentier soup side, an onion soup and the chicken fillet salad all for around $150 tax included. The fact is that this scratch gift comes with a lot of constraints and the tip of the cake is far from being a gift from the heart of the red stick! According to the card, you must spend $40 (more than the purchase of the $100 gift card) and this $40 you must choose no promotion (example the rib and Parmentier at $30) and it is a card to scratch by invoice! it was like seeing the waitress come with her rule sheets and explain all this to me at the end of my meal! It was too much, I gave him all my cards (at that point my taste for eating cake quickly passed). to scratch and in truth their cake is $10 which costs them around $5 and they want me to spend $140 with lots of conditions ..well they can get it where I think! So good luck to all customers who want to have the supposed poisoned gift of the scratch card. for me it s too much. It s breathtakingly ridiculous! And the manager who went to see the waitress who was probably explaining all this to him who looked up to look at us and who surely made this decision you have just done without 2 regular customers, my money is good everywhere! A canteen would have acted with more class than you! I was a bartender for 14 years and I would never have allowed myself to act the same with pleasant regular customers like me and my boyfriend for 2 slices of cake! Our food was cold. Fries worthy of frozen fries and way too salty. Only one kind of vegetable as a side dish even though he advertises several on the menu. Half cooked meat. We ate at this restaurant on January 1, 2023 unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. The fries were dry and cold, the Caesar salad wet and soft, on the other hand the meat was well cooked and quite tasty. I dont understand why our meal was cold, since we were the first customers of the evening. The service ok. We will never return to this restaurant again. Much too expensive for what we are served. We prefer by far the B.D.L.

All the food was excellent! The service was great until a group of about 50 people arrived. Our server never came back to ask us if we were having a desert. We waited between 20 and 30 minutes to be able to request the invoice. We had finished our drinks and waited while he took the groups orders and even brought them drinks and food before coming back to see us. It was really long.

Take out disgusting. We waited 20 minutes. For nothing our order was already ready. Plus the flank steak for $32...with garden vegetables, see what it looks like.

Sunday afternoon February 5, 2023 at 1:15 p.m., we were going to have dinner with friends who dont often come to Sherbrooke wanting to try a new restaurant, EXTREMELY disappointed, I will never eat at this place again, raw chicken, not cooked, for fear of getting salmonella, in addition to having my baby with me having eaten a good butcher of chicken and seeing afterwards that he was not even cooked, no discount, no refund was made to my bill only a piece of cake brought to my table...

My favorite restaurant! Everything is delicious. Parmentier soup to share if you want to save room for the main meal but wow, what a delight. Filet mignon. Raised side...chicken fillet...wow!

First experience at Baton Rouge and probably the last. Being in Sherbrooke, I am very disappointed. The person who served us was in a hurry to take our order and was not at all welcoming, that is to say very cold, we had the impression of disturbing her. She never came to see us during our meal to check if everything met our expectations or if we would have liked to order other drinks. I had to ask one of her colleagues who was passing by our table for another drink... It was at the end when paying that she asked us if the meal was suitable. I dont know where to start with this terrible experience! By the service which was very long or by the meal which arrived cold or by the disrespectful employees! I asked for 2 plates of salmon without bacon, but the order received was not what I asked for. On 3 occasions, the employee told me that he changed the plates even though the same plates were returned to me. The employee took my contact information so that the manager could follow up with me, which was never done. Since this restaurants brand is to lie to customers as much as possible, I will never return to this damn restaurant.

Booking 50 of us was easy. We pre-ordered many bottles of wine at-the tables for all of the guests. As I made my way to the kitchen (watching)I and noticed what dishes I wanted to try. Throughout all of us ordering food, I decided to have the Baton Rouge ribs and fried chicken with a Caesar salad and Aji tuna . Being the last table served as they orchestrated food to each table, the 1st,of our dishes arrived unfortunately cold. My fried chicken fingers, fries unfortunately had to be reheated and the ribs came without flavour or warmth, except for the dollops of barbeque sauce on top! The tuna tartare is something to be completely avoided as an absolutely has no flavour profiles. The staff were great and deserved the 20% tip. Hopefully, I ll give this place a second try in the near future.

First experience for me with the baton rouge. I loved having the bench seat for 6. I loved the fact that we could talk without hearing the others around. I loved the service, but on the other hand I found my plate a little bare. I ordered an entrecôte, delicious but I found that there was a lack of stock on the plate. I didnt like the rice, the sauce was ordinary and the meal was cold. But I still ate well. I will definitely go back there, for a second chance because the staff, the atmosphere, the comfort was excellent

Probably the worst baton rouge I have ever been at I asked for a well done steak (preggo) And hubby ordered medium rare For him they legit gave him a raw piece of meat that was hardly cooked outside but he didnt want to complain and ate it but it was so raw that the fat parts (I would say the best parts to make your steak delicious) were super chewy so he had to cut them off and bite on his raw piece of meat lol My steak was very well cooked yet was significantly small and at the end when were going to pay saw the price for the 2 pieces were the same while mine was at least 1/3 of my husbands piece Anyway Not gonna go back there

Firstly the employees welcomed us as if we were disturbing them no smile and no manners from the employees the waiter did not take orders down so there were a lot of errors firstly despite our warnings that I was allergic deadly to carp that I couldnt have any near me.. the waiter still brought us a plate full of them I had to end my evening in the emergency in addition to having sighed as if it was the end in his life the waiter (boss) didnt even take the time to apologize for his mistake and was immediately disinterested in shouting at his employee (that she was being wasteful and that she was going to have to pay ) since she put a new portion of fries on her plate since she had just dropped it on the floor... My family and I had the pleasure of a gastronomic feast from Bâton Rouge in Sherbrooke recently. As it was a birthday celebration and the birthday gal is wheelchair-bound, we opted for takeout. My husband and I were visiting from out of town, so we planned our meals around Bâton Rouge and I am so happy we did. Our first night in Sherbrooke, the three of us ordered the filet mignon. The generous sized filets were all cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious, melt in your mouth supreme excellence. Honestly, the best filet mignon ever. The accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were light and fluffy. The next day for lunch we ordered the salmon and rice for six people. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The salmon was delicious and tender. For dinner that night, it was full racks of ribs for three people. The ribs were fall off the bone amazing. Of course we ordered salads and soup with our three meals, which were all extremely satisfying. Not only were our meals delicious, they were carefully packaged. One critical factor in our dining experience was the service we received from Antonio, a.k.a Anthony. This person was professional, friendly and first class. He knows how to make his customers smile with gratitude. I will certainly return to Bâton Rouge in Sherbrooke the next time we are visiting. This was the best meal and service we have ever received from a restaurant. Bâton Rouge Sherbrooke is a must for any foodie. Many thanks to Antonio and his highly competent staff. Bravo! Update: More excellent takeout from Bâton Rouge in Sherbrooke. Mother s Day 2023 was perfect because of our meals from Bâton Rouge. Manager Antonio always makes sure the filet mignon is cooked just the way we like it. July of 2023 was yet another perfect time to treat our wheelchair-bound Mom to Bâton Rouge. And again, Antonio made sure everything we ordered was perfection. While everything on the menu is beyond delicious (salmon, chicken, salads, desserts) the filet mignon is a must try. Lotus salad to avoid. Very poor quality salmon, no cohesion of the food on the plate which by the way does not resemble the photo in any way. They should put as much effort into the quality of the food as they do into the decor. Very disappointed

It was good nothing more. On the other hand, fortunately I had my opinel because the waiter did not give me a knife.

There were 6 of us, including two children, and three of us, including two adults, who ordered ribs and we were all disappointed by the amount of meat that these ribs contained. Otherwise the service and taste of the food was A1. Kid-friendliness: The childrens meal is good, but the ribs contain little meat.

Pitiful and insulting service. I booked 2 months in advance and graduation took place at the same time by chance. Limited menu with no variety of foods and prices. Notifying me upon my arrival only that we had to have left by 8:15 p.m.... it was 6:00 p.m. and there were 25 people. We had just arrived and hadnt even been seated before the waiter asked us for our drink orders and starters. Frankly, there are limits to wanting to make money!

Food is good if not great. Service and atmosphere are always top notch. A bit pricey though, but you more or less get what you pay for, so all in all its fair.

The food was excellent, it would even deserve more than 5 if it were possible. The salmon, the baton rouge burger with poutine, incredible. Just the service a little long, even just to get water and drinks. Otherwise the rest excellent

Pour le prix la nourriture ne valait pas la peine. Cote levée sec avec une sauce qui goute pas grand chose, hamburger avec une boulet de viande qui etais autant goûteuse que chaude sait à dire pas beaucoup, la salade césar qui laisse un léger arrière gout. Experience passable mais ny retournerai probablement jamais et pense arêter au mcdo proche

If Baton Rouge was the benchmark for odds. This was not the case during my last visit. The waiter was stupid. The restaurant did not seem heated, perhaps an adjustment for the beginning of winter, but I had to keep my coat on to eat. Very disappointed with my overall experience.

The food was delicious, the service: the waitress was smiling, courteous, polite. The atmosphere was warm. Parking: Easy to park, space reserved for people with reduced mobility (wheelchair). The Red Baton has been losing its feathers in recent years. Plate of filet mignon with a minimal portion of fries and seasonal vegetables that are tough. Too salty beef tartare. It was my last visit to this establishment and I am not talking about the one in Sherbrooke but in general in Quebec. Message to the franchisee: perhaps asking your banner to renew itself wt to increase the quality of the food could be good.

2 hours to be served. Cold meal. No coffee or anything for the wait. First beer more than 90 minutes after our arrival. The au gratin bread was not cooked and the cheese was not melted. The onion and potato soup was cold too. We had 2 waitresses for a group of around 50 people. But the people in the kitchen were clearly not in their business. Really bad experience for my first time.

We went to dinner on December 8th. To my great surprise (and amazement), the tables are TOTALLY shabby, lack varnish, stain and are all graffitied, in short it felt like an old restaurant at the end of its life... Honestly, if we compare with the Keg or something else, I will never go there again. This restaurant located in Sherbrooke puts the Baton Rouge banner to shame!!

I just returned and I am still very satisfied with this restaurant. Another 5 star. Thanks to Sarah Maude for her excellent service. ***** Parking: Excellent service, fast, courteous and friendly. Nice portion of ribs, half price private import wine on Tuesday. Really happy with my visit.
