Probably the most classic burger joint in sherbrooke. Great fries and awesome burger. It's a must as a local, and a must try as a visitor.
The poutine was tasty: fries were crisp, curds were fresh and squeaky, but there was way too much gravy. I’ll update the review if I come back and the experience is different
Great local chain ! The staff members are very helpful and the portions were sizable ! Of course, it tasted amazing.
*Update* (07-10-2024) Rating : 3 stars Though I still love Louis Restaurants, I noticed with my last purchase, that my favorite chicken wings are becoming smaller and smaller while the price of the food keeps increasing. Rating (2022) : 4 stars Very good food. That's why I love Louis Restaurants. I bought chicken wings and french fries. The last time I went there was more than 12 months ago. The price of the usual food I buy over there almost doubled and I was not happy about it. But, there was plenty food in the take out and I could eat it throughout the afternoon and evening .
great service okay food, like the fries are okay and the gravy is fine but definitely not enough cheese. They just rip open a plastic bag that’s really small and push it on the poutine.
This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. Delicious and decent size and it comes with a small juice. My son and I can each get a plate for about 10 bucks. Their fries are also really good wether in a poutine or just as fries.
The decor and feel of the place is very old school. The food is no frills and nothing farted around with. Sadly this also leaves a lot to be desired in terms of taste. It's fairly average fast food served cafeteria style. Great for going to grab a bite on a budget but nothing revolutionary or noteworthy. Overall this place is average and not particularly unique.
The service is great, quick and friendly. The food how ever was less than favourable. The poutine was bland and the curds were hard. There was very little gravy.
The food is good but the quantities vs the prices downright stealing! $48 for two people and we were left hungry at the end.

I never thought it was possible to miss a hot dog. Roasted hot dog buns as steamer buns. It doesnt work! Worst hot dog of my life, considering that I already made hot dogs in the microwave as a poor student, its quite an achievement to do worse...

Really too expensive. The big louis costs $8.17, same size ball as the bigmac but more expensive. At the time, it was worth going to eat at Louis Luncheonette, but now you might as well go to an a la carte restaurant, its the same price. In the louis a little more than that and these are theft. We ask for things, the message doesnt get through and the order has to be redone. I didnt even say a word the last two times I went, thats how it was. Louis, when the prices were affordable and he hadnt reduced the size of the breads and dumplings, it was worth it, thats why it was always full. But every time Ive been there at lunch time or other times, theres almost no one there.

Peu importe, çtun bon restaurant à chaque fois que j y vais. Ils donnent un service rapide courtois et chaleureux. En plus ils ont la meilleure poutine du fast food à Sherbrooke. Voila

Disappointment. Burger with small meatball, very little garnish, cold bun. Ciabatta with soft bread which absorbed all the juice and fat from the meat, really bad, I ate a little meat with a fork because the bread was so bad. The fries were good. 30 minutes of waiting to be served at the counter while we see 5 cooks in the back, I dont understand. Honestly between this and another fast food, to save 20% I would go elsewhere.

Local fast food offering burgers. Prices are fair and my sandwich was good. The poutine cheese was fresh and was squick-squick which is a good point. They also have a second floor that serves as a dining room. Good but nothing more.

The fries were crispy because they were reheated in oil. They collect the old fries It s not the quality like before. Change of ownership since January and they even confirmed to me that they reheat the fries a second time in oil. Seems like the previous owner did that too... thats what I was told. I have come to eat at Louis very, very often and the fries have never been fresh before.
Please note: they have reduced the sizes of the poutine (now the small one from before covid has become the medium one today) for the same price. I made the remark to the staff on site; they categorically denied (I have been one of their customers for years: I know what an average looks like..) I called another Louis who confirmed to me that the size had indeed been reduced (for economic reasons). I therefore find their behavior fraudulent and dishonest

There are good plates and the food is good, the fries look like snack fries. The only problem I found is that there arent enough toilets. Otherwise, its a good place for this kind of meal.

the strawberry milkshake is literally ice cream mixed with nesquick strawberry mix what a ripoff. my poutine had a few burnt fries but not many. fish and chips had hair in it. coleslaw tasted like mayonnaise was replaced with water
At Louis usually its good but for several months this restaurant in the city center the fries are not as good as before they are smaller and drier, however elsewhere on king west or king east they are excellent, so?? ??
I thought I would never be able to eat poutine after my diagnosis of celiac disease, but I discovered that Louis makes gluten-free poutine sauce and it is delicious too!!!!! Thank you for allowing me to eat one of my favorite dishes again and thank you for the truly courteous service! It s always a pleasure to go to Louis! Good food. Its been a while since I went, I found the staff on the floor looked like a daycare. Situation surely resolved. Before the one in the west, this restaurant was the one I took take out most often for almost 10 years. The manager is friendly, hats off for that job, it must not be easy.

I admit that this is the first time that I have taken the time to give my opinion. I ordered a small poutine. The young man who served me was very kind, smiling. The problem is that we are still in COVID times and he served me at the cash register, gave me the trick to pay by debit and then, without even washing his hands, he made my poutine. Put the fries in the bowl, pushed with his hands on the fries, put the cheese with his hands, pushed on with his hands and add the sauce. For me, I am not afraid of COVID. On the other hand, I have someone close to me who has cancer and for him it is completely different. Germs can cause huge problems for him. I know! You are probably saying to yourself that he should stay at home. Maybe!! But with all the reminders about the importance of washing your hands!!!!! You are still in the restaurant business.

The fries and cheese are perfect for poutine, but the bland brown gravy takes away some points. A mixed BBQ-brown sauce would be ideal.

Having a hidden fee of 50¢ for the all dressed option on a hamburger I didnt think I would see that in my life. If at least it was written on the menu board that would have surprised me but in terms of hidden costs its nonsense.

I had heard a lot about this place but it was a real taste disappointment. I had the smoked meat poutine and it was Disgusting especially the meat. There was no smoke flavor as hoped and there was way too much of it. Which is a shame because without that it was excellent. I would have been better off having a classic poutine.
As for the other Louis in town: The best poutine!
Really disappointed. It is written that the restaurant stands out from the big fast food chains, but honestly I didnt see any difference, seeing the steaks were the smallest ever seen in this type of restaurant. The welcome leaves something to be desired and there are several employees in the kitchen and are not active at all (we were the second to arrive and we waited a long time, Mc Donalds (just for comparison) goes faster. Better you go in a large chain that there.

I just bought a medium Poutine to bring. They put a quantity as if it was a small one. I was so hungry and very tired believing its quality. It was really disappointing/sad especially when your stuff goes bad. Ill do an update for the next time I go. I hope this changes my opinion.
