The food was not so great, no bacon, cold maple scrumble eggs, crispy pork rinds hard like rock, the buffet is tiny and have to wait long to serve yourself, there was no personnal space per group it was really Chaotic and all pass on the rest... So in a summary the price was way to much for the so little service we had if any at all? no space, meh food and no dessert. Wont go there ever
Excllent food, noisy dining room. Its part of the experience, I guess. Minus, the bathroom is still pretty bad (april 2024).
A great experience, a mix of traditional and tasty food served in a self-serve manner that leaves you full and satisfied by the end. The owner is quite eco-conscious and makes a large effort to make you feel at home. Would reccomend.
Great host, healthy menu good food. The vegetables were awesome.
This is a nice and cozy place that keeps one of Quebec's tradition : The Cabane à Sucres. The food was absolutely delightful and there is nothing to complain about. You should expect a buffet where you take care of your own things. There were no one to fill our drinks but you know what that is alright like that. There is a spot at the entrance where you can have water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. This is included in your entrance fee. If you wish to have bottled drinks, you are expected to pay for the additional fees. The owner walks around and take the feedbacks along the meal. Friendly person with a nice attitude. It's not a place for young kids, as there are nothing to entertain them here. Nothing outside to play with or to see either. Definitely worth the visit and I recommend the place, if you enjoy delicious foods for an average price. Thank you!
It was very nice. Food was good, liked the introduction and history of the place.
Family-run and family friendly. A great place to go to for a more varied menu for your sugar shack/cabane a sucre experience - both in the classic food and the healthy options. The meal is done in courses, with everything explained to you before the food is set up in the buffet. The maple toffee/ tire sur la neige is served after the main meal, at the same time as the dessert buffet. They also have a hot beverages menu that rely on maple infusions - as well as maple items for purchase.
Made an appointment for a lunch at noon, but was told at the last minute by these people "oh no your appointment was at 10, we're too full now". Very unprofessional, and ruined a day because we were waiting to eat at noon and then had to find somewhere else to eat at the last minute (and not sugar shack food because everything was already full). Would never waste my time with them ever again.
A passionate owner!! Talks to us about his cabin with emotion and passion. Rustic family place. Perfect...no nothing is perfect! One of the healthiest places for this style of meal. We ate well. For me, the eggs in syrup are not omelette style eggs but they were still very good. Hearing people will complain....seriously enjoy the present moment with your family....you didnt cook..passionate people did it for you!
Atmosphere OK no music or musicians. Services OK we understand that its a buffet but we were rushed by a gentleman who was putting pressure on us to eat and making our group of 30 people feel guilty. Receiving is an art! The food phew.... the pancakes taste like flour, not good old pâtés, burnt potatoes, grandfather in uncooked and cold syrup. Nothing has any flavor but you can add syrup as desired and it is very good. The taffy is also successful. Not too expensive but dont have to wait.
The decoration leaves nothing to be desired, no music, no atmosphere and what can we say about the food.... it was horrible. No service we have to do our own dishes.
Very good sugar shack meal. We were a group of employees from the same company
This is my first experience at this sugar shack. A beautiful location, beautiful facilities. Concerning the brunch, big disappointment, the taste, the flavors were not there. Having spoken to the owner, I understood that his menu was intended to be healthy dishes with maple syrup, a great idea, but it is not because it is healthy that the taste must be absent. baked beans tasted the water. Perfect taffy on snow. Congratulations on your 20th birthday. Best wishes. We like it or we dont like it.
I completely agree with Mr. Zachary Roy, it is not edible and it is way too expensive for what you are offering. The only thing that was decent was the taffy.
I was really disappointed with the buffet, well undercooked, not much to eat, crappy crepe, no bacon and paté...no creton...vegetarian menu??? Im definitely not going back there and I was there less difficult
Very good service. Tasty dishes. Vegetarian and healthy options for the sugar shack. Were going to come back. Recommended!
We had reservations for 11 people and we arrived 1 hour after the official start of the table. Its our mistake, we misunderstood. In short, the owner was very friendly to us and found a solution in a good mood. It was very appreciated :) The food is much healthier than in the other sugar shacks and I must say that the tofu with maple syrup impressed my children quite a bit... My whole gang had a great time and the owner delayed the closing of the buffet just for us, which is a nice touch in customer service. We loved it and I recommend this place without hesitation!!!
Excellent service and excellent food! An experience to live without hesitation!
Very welcoming owner. Grandfather in maple syrup really very very good!!!
Finally a cabin with food that tastes like syrup and is not greasy. Vegetarian options: Very good Kid-friendliness: Easy not too tight Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in front but less behind
Excellent sugar shack cuisine with two good vegetarian options! The size of the dining room is small so not too much noise, which was ideal. Its a good place so you dont have to have expectations of a 5-star restaurant, we help ourselves and drink from little plastic glasses and thats fine. We appreciated being able to bring our own wine. We ate very well, it was quality and not too fatty. We will come back next year for sure.
Great place! It s family friendly and a great space to play outside. It was good. The owner and his wife are really friendly. I recommend.
It was really mediocre for the price... First of all, $37 for a tiny buffet with not much choice, the ears of Christ were hard to eat even with the strongest teeth, the eggs in the syrup were cold, not bacon... and so on... Not really dessert (sorry my grandfather in the syrup had to look for them with a magnifying glass in the syrup), we had to queue for several minutes because the buffet area Its very small for the number of customers, the dining space is all crammed into the room like in a camp with no personal space and the atmosphere is real chaos, no thought given, no table service provided, no pitcher of water at the table, super chemical powdered juice, not even orange juice at least... In short, too basic for the price clearly, Big improvement to be made before seeing me go back one another time. Good luck!
Superb location with an impressive view of Mount Orford. The owner is very friendly and ensures that he operates his business in a sustainable and responsible manner in addition to offering high quality products.
Very nice place! Inclusive food with vegetarian choices! Everything was delicious!
We loved our experience! From the warm welcome from the owner to the delicious taffy after the meal. And what about the buffet dishes: everything was excellent! For vegetarians, the options are really good and the choices varied! We would like to make a special mention for the delicious beans cooked in maple syrup. It was a very nice surprise, the best beans in our opinion! Thank you for everything, we will definitely come back!
The meat was excellent: homemade Italian sausage and marinated ham, both very tender and without excess fat. No need for bacon for a delicious meal at the sugar shack. And what about the beautiful ceramic cups with the maple leaf, a very cute concept. Pay close attention to them, because when I wanted to get some, I was told that they were discontinued. The owner was also very warm and welcoming to his guests. I definitely recommend this place!
It is a place to feel the traditions of this beautiful country, pleasant environment.
I give 4 stars, because the only thing missing would be either a singer or Quebecois music but otherwise, the impeccable service, very good food! Vegetarian options: Dish with delicious toffu
I dont know if my standards are too high, but I didnt like the food offered at this buffet. The pea soup was passable with salt and pepper. The baked beans, without bacon, were execrable, as were the so-called Italian sausages. The potatoes were burnt and tasteless. The coleslaw, pancakes and ears of criss (not very abundant) were ok. No bacon. Boiled vegetables which give you a taste of what your plate will look like if you end up in a CHSLD. The grandfathers in syrup were delicious. On the website, we boast of wanting to be healthier, but I rather have the impression that it is an economy of production that is being targeted here. In addition, I found the person who seemed to be the owner a little stupid. People come to ask us if we have any questions, and we are told coldly to read on the table. I also saw him get impatient with a child who was having difficulty making hot chocolate using the cheap machine. Honestly, I dont recommend this place. There is undoubtedly a better and friendlier sugar shack. *** Edit I witnessed the whole scene, the young boy Im talking about did absolutely nothing wrong. He just didnt know how the machine worked. Your menu is actually on your site, I did not say otherwise, but that does not prevent us from seeing the mention of without seasoning. To the wise.
A lot of effort for sustainable development!!! Well done! Good buffet style meal and beautiful products in the shop Vegetarian options: Tofu dishes, several choices of salad and vegetarian soup Kid-friendliness: Very good for children
On this magnificent Sunday in March, it was snowing in large flakes and it was magical! Be careful on the roads and, despite the conditions, we got there. Enchanting places, warm welcome and succulent meal, what more could you ask for all finished with good taffy on the snow and a beautiful walk along the forest trails! We will come back
The food has no taste The bread and the bread are not cooked Nothing cooked in syrup tastes like syrup! No Service and atmosphere Very exaggerated price for something not edible! 3 people wanted to be reimbursed during our visit because it was not edible and too expensive, the restaurant did not want to know anything, telling the 3 person it s the new version of sugar shacks
The soup is passable, the bine is not cooked, no bacon, no pudding au chômeur cake, not enough ham, Italian sausage, no value for the money, I paid for it, you dont pay for it. Parking: Not enough space
I love it, almost come and embrace Valcourts sweet tooth, but seriously, its delicious, my ritual every year is here with you now!
A ruined experience for us and Im going to tell everyone not to go there if I can give -10 as a star I would
Very good every year. Classic and also innovative dishes. Great welcome. We have been proud customers every year for 5 years. Come and enjoy this very very good sugar shack ;)
Beautiful place with good welcome we eat well finally a different sugar shack menu well done
Very warm welcome, very friendly owner. The food lived up to our expectations. Great organization. We will return without hesitation! Wheelchair accessibility: No walking.
Beautiful structure with two large rooms. For a corporate activity, it s great! Vegetarian options: Certain dishes in the warmers are identified for this purpose. Parking: Several parking areas.
A magnificent, very good meal with a very nice atmosphere, the entry price is very reasonable. All you can eat buffets and it s really very good. Atmosphere like at home, friends, family around a good table. Taffy for dessert is great. I highly recommend
We had a delicious meal, the food was hot and very good. Good choice of salads and dishes in the buffet, it is not a vegetarian cabin but there are choices to accommodate all tastes (ham, sausages in syrup, eggs, tofu, vegetables). As nothing is too sweet, we can add syrup to our liking (there is syrup on the tables). We ate (too much)! Friendly place, the staff was very welcoming and kind (the one who made the taffy on snow who gave us lots of information on pouring, cooking, taffy, etc.). I would happily go back next year. Vegetarian options: The bines are made without bacon, hot vegetables, salads, eggs, potatoes, homemade rolls, tofu in sauce
Very friendly staff. Traditional sugar shack cuisine and other menus. Everything is excellent! Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian menu.
I went there with a group and the organization was simple. The owner answered our questions quickly. The day of the event everything went very well, the food was good and in sufficient quantity. The taffy is excellent! The staff is friendly! Vegetarian options: A tofu dish among others! Parking: In sufficient quantity Kid-friendliness: High chairs or booster chairs available on site.
I really like the idea of the buffet, you can choose what you want to eat without waste. The salad bar idea is fantastic! Very pretty sugar shack.
I must tell you that I was really disappointed, the meals were not good, the original taste of the maple syrup was not there either, in terms of cleanliness I saw much better, the humidity level in the room is unbearable and the food left something to be desired! In short, if you want to have a stomach ache all day this is the place to go!!
Wow, super good sugar shack. Great for private groups.
Its correct, nothing more. The food offered was OK, buffet type. Definitely not the place to have fun all day. No festive atmosphere, no activities for children other than taffy on snow. No visits to the estate or interactive activities. Next year we will choose somewhere else.
Pleasantly surprised to see tofu on the menu!
Not all water tastes good, even the maple syrup
The bines were gray and the grandfathers in the syrup seemed to have been chewed by the local grandfather bad value for money
Bland food and disappointing welcome. I advise against it.
Extraordinary welcome and what can I say about the meal hmmmm is the only thing that comes to mind
Superb sugar shack! The welcome is warm, the owner is keen that all customers lack nothing! He takes the time to place each table and give the necessary explanations! The meal served as a buffet is excellent, very diverse! And you can also buy salad dressings and other small products. The prices are also very good for what we got!! As a bonus, unlimited taffy, yum! An experience to repeat for sure!
Warm welcome for 2 years. Jean-François is dedicated and very attentive to customers. He constantly makes sure everything is correct. The choice of salad is excellent and I love the balance in the buffet choices. Vegetarian options: There are some very interesting salad options and vegetables.
Welcome as warm as last year. Exquisite traditional meal, affable and courteous staff. The smiles tasted like sugar...delicious. Parking: Lots of places
Food not incredible... For the same price I have eaten better elsewhere, but it is true that for vegetarian people it is a good place. But otherwise, for a family outing I was looking for another place... Vegetarian options: Options for vegetarian, but not great food
Superb sugar shack buffet it was excellent Parking: Alright Kid-friendliness: Room to have fun and run outside
Everything was good!
Very family friendly, good food and owner who cares about his customers and employees.
Not edible... really disappointed to have paid $30 to not enjoy the food... talk to your cook or change because it was terrible. Burnt pancakes, bland sausages, disgusting eggs, dry dumplings, Worst Sugar Shack experience
Correct nothing more. The place is good and the welcome is friendly. The food lacks refinement by my standards (mini hot dog type sausages, dried potatoes). The meatballs were good though. All you can eat on the snow after the meal was very good.
Very friendly and family-friendly! I liked that it was a buffet, much less waste!
Excellent experience! Very good service and more than delicious food, we will definitely go back :)
The food was excellent! Good service
Not liked
Very good, friendly staff.
It was cold and I didnt like the food either. The quality leaves something to be desired. In short, its not worth the price.
Its really hard
Very cold menu no sausages for lunch no good crepe no bacon really disappointing. Grandfather in the syrup no large pieces. My mouth didnt water.
Excellent food, less like the buffet principle where we serve ourselves personally. Because there is no table service to know if everything is ok.
I am very disappointed with your menu and I am not the only one in our Magog group on Friday March 25, 2022 I will not recommend your sugar shack to my friends too bad
I recommend this place to anyone. Ive been there several times, whether with a group of friends or my partner, and each time I come out with a very full stomach. What is interesting is the menu which varies each year (3-4 dishes out of around 12). Know that you wont have clark beans or Habitant pea soup. What is offered is made on site and really has a different, more maple taste. Personally, I havent tried everything because of the varied menu, but generally its a success. Another great aspect is the proximity of the owner. The owner loves his cabin, takes care of it and also takes care of the people who come. Well, we have to remain realistic. Sometimes he is less present because he is busy elsewhere. Happy sugar shack!
Excellent cabin in Sucre!
It s a lovely place to dine with family and friends. The sugar shack is so good and fresh
Very disappointing! Lack of food! We have to chase the staff to get the dishes refilled! No one came to see us inside to tell us that there was little time left for taffy! So 6:02 a.m., they put the taffy away!!!! Grrrr The food is not tasty! Except the pea soup, very good!
Superb place, well aceulis. The staff even helped me unlock my car with my keys in it. THANKS
Buffet-style menu, with new items every year. Everything was really delicious and very affordable. All the family and friends loved it. I highly recommend it.
Great food, nice owner
It was very, very ordinary. We do not see the presence of maple in any of the dishes.
No more
Very good! The less traditional dishes are very good and refreshing too. I recommend +++
Good value for money Buffet style with lots of choice. Good price/quality and delicious food. Buffet style with lots of choices.
After reading the negative comments I didnt really want to go there anymore and my expectations werent very high but as we had booked with friends we went there anyway. In the end it was a very nice evening. Everything was excellent and very well organized. The owner toured the tables to make sure everything was to our liking. The lesson to learn from all this: Don t always trust Google reviews
Nice welcome. The person at the checkout was super nice. And he did everything (table support, last call for taffy, explanations on how the meal went, checkout) Warm place and delicious menu
Diverse menu that is good if you have lactose intolerance and its delicious!
Fairly ordinary food Undercooked baked beans and pea soup On the other hand, the ham was good
The menu was super good, very nice experience!! We will return there, guaranteed!
Absolutely nothing good. First of all, pea soup; no taste, baked beans without bacon; uncooked, potato wedges; uncooked, bacon and breakfast sausage; theres none! Even the rolls were disgusting. The most for vegans; the pasta salad was good. Ha yes if you are a group and someone withdraws due to covid well expect to pay for them even if you didnt have a group price. In short, dont go there.
The food is varied, but poorly cooked, often replaced, but always cold. Taffy and maple syrup are good, but cooks should focus on fewer meal choices and spend more time on cooking.
Excellent meal!! The staff is super friendly, even the owner was there to welcome us. A buffet that lived up to our expectations and more. Thank you for this great experience.
excellent!
Excellent food. Wide variety of dishes, which we really enjoyed. Friendly owner who takes the time to chat with each customer, to make sure everything suits everyone. Delicious snow taffy served after the meal
The reception was very cold for several members of the group. The reservation was accepted for 6:30 p.m. even though the buffet started at 6:00 p.m. Guests in our group arrived early (before 6:30 p.m.) and were greeted by the owner with arrogance. Indeed, Jean-François questioned them with pressure to find out if they would start eating quickly so as not to disrupt the evening schedule (dessert service and snow taffy). For reasons beyond their control, some members of our group had to arrive late. Once again, the owner was not welcoming. Instead, he scolded them for not being on time. Outraged, the customers offered to turn back instead of encouraging his business. Jean-François replied curtly that they would still have to pay for their place. On the service side, it is completely absent. The operation is more self-service. No water service, you have to go help yourself AND you have to clear the tables yourself. Food wise, it was okay, but nothing more. It lacked taste. In short, a disappointing experience and it is obvious that I do not recommend this sugar shack. The owners lack of sensitivity is distressing. It would have been rather uncomfortable to sit in this room not knowing if other criticisms could have been made to the customers of our group during the evening.
Warm and discreet staff. Quiet and rustic atmosphere. Quality food.
We have been going to this sugar shack for around ten years and we have never been disappointed (including last year with the take-out meal service due to covid). The dishes are delicious and varied. There are vegetarian options (yay!) and variety for all tastes (the menu is published on the site at the start of the season). But the most striking point for me: they make a real effort to minimize ecological impacts (waste sorting, composting, minimization of waste, washable plates, etc.). We cant wait to go back next year :D
Nice atmosphere
A little disappointed with the dishes served (its a question of taste), excellent desserts, good welcome from the owner and his team
I was the one who booked for a group of 9 people, all the guests congratulated me on the choice of this cabin. Good food, pleasant atmosphere, and the taffy is of excellent quality. Let it tempt you.
A disappointing meal.
Average, we had hot dog sausages instead of the risotto that we had specified and even that we asked to check at the time of purchase.
Delicious !!!
Great service
Despite the pandemic, everything was there. And the staff very courteous and kind!
Really impressed! Im vegetarian and the sugar shack is generally not my favorite place, but the veggie options there are incredible! Jean-François (the owner) is really adorable and accommodating. I highly recommend the maple grove.
Really good friendly owner
Very very good food
Family sugar shack with a warm atmosphere. Very good maple syrup. Attentive owner. Traditional menu with some revisited dishes. Excellent baked beans and great maple grandfathers! Good first experience, we will definitely return. Suitable for young families.
Unique and different experience from other sugar shacks. Very friendly owner who makes an environmental effort. I highly recommend you!
A beautiful maple grove 10 minutes from Sherbrooke, who could say better? There is room for your stomach and there is room to sit comfortably with your family in this sugar shack. Well-established buffet-style concept, traditional food (ham, omelette, homemade potatoes, beans in syrup, grandfather in syrup, etc.) with healthy options. Outside, there is a taffy hut where the services come one after the other faster than our ability to lick the palette! You can also walk in the tracks of the tractor to admire the maple grove. There are beautiful snags and a remarkable hemlock grove. The only downside of our epic journey is the smell of diesel at the entrance to the building. Weird.
The place is warm, the meal was excellent and the owner listens to customers.
Very nice experience, good food, good service with an owner involved and attentive to comments.
Succulent and welcoming. What more could you ask for?
I received very good service from the owner of Érabilis who was able to respond to our requests. The place is very well located not far from Sherbrooke but the landscape is rural. Two singing rooms aside makes it less stuck and less noisy. There food is varied so can please different people salad bar side freshness and less sweetness. Traditional meal ham pancake scrambled eggs super potato small sausage hot dog big seller for our children. Sweet To our taste with syrup to hand and very delicious. The missing touch of plastic wine cups and pitchers of cold water at the table. But there were juice and water dispensers not far away. Congratulations also for the recycling and composting ecology, it s great. Very nice place to know
Very friendly owner, concerned about the environment and meals not too fatty!
Improved and eco-responsible traditional menu. Beautiful place near Sherbrooke.
Local establishment
comical all the same,,,,,,,put the tables with a lot of children first,,,,,a child who has finished eating is a child king ready to be tough,,,,,,I would pass him in last rather,,,,, it sharpens their patience and they will finish at the same time as the others. its true that the older children [the parents] wouldnt be happy,,,,,,,
Excellent! Very welcoming owner! Great efforts for the environment! Succulent home cooking TO VISIT!
The concept of the memu is different from other sugar shacks. In addition, they make it a duty to respect the environment with the various bins in our possession to be compacted and recovered. I really liked my experience. I highly recommend.
Original and excellent food with a vegetarian option. Additionally, the owner is very friendly and is clearly passionate about what he does. A very nice company with environmental values in an enchanting setting. I highly recommend. Thank you for the beautiful evening!
Succulent, original and homemade food, magical place with taffy served at sunset and mountain views. Very pleasant owners and very focused on respecting nature and preserving energy. An experience definitely worth it
I was impressed with the quality of the meal! Very good experience at Érabilis
Food selection was good. They really try to offer traditional dishes as healthy as possible. The problem is that when I visit a sugar shack once a year I want it rich and delicious. The baked beans were hard and watery and lacked flavor to me. Twice I had to go find plates because they were missing. It was for me a 2-3 star experience no more.
The meal is delicious, with a special dish that changes every year. To visit!
Ordinary food, pea soup not cooked enough, baked beans also lack of seasoning in general. Poor quality maple syrup served on the tables (very dark) and that for the exterior taffy too, strong aftertaste. Passable for people who dont know this.
Excellent quality of food, family atmosphere.
A very good meal. Healthy meal and sugar shack meal mix was perfect.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere!!
Excellent food, low in fat and very tasty! Beautiful atmosphere, and very friendly owner!! A must !!
It was a first visit and I will definitely return! Excellent food and friendly owner!
Lovely welcome, very good quality and variety of products, I loved the vinaigrettes!!!
owner very stupid like his 2 feet. the dishes removed quite quickly. Dont get up before the kids because theyll tell you. The rest of us forget it, we wont go back.
Excellent food
Super good service, the owner is very welcoming and warm! He seems very proud. The food and atmosphere are excellent!!
Concerns in the preparation of food by taking care to offer products with less fat. Wide choice of salads and dressings. On the other hand, if you want to eat traditional sugar shack food, this is not the best place, because the choices are limited and the price is high. Edit after the owners response: My comment was completely personal, and I am convinced that the menu will appeal to customers looking for a healthier menu. I want to add that the owner listened to comments and seemed to put a lot of time into the success of his sugar bush.
Excellent ! Very good service and excellent food!
Just missing the bacon!
We were very well received, the atmosphere as well as the good buffet made our morning a success!! Thanks to the Erabilis sugar shack team!!!
awful, this cabin is over for us
Very good attentive service. An eco-responsible maple grove. Excellent food and much healthier. There is only dinner service, so we are in no hurry to vacate our place... very very good. See you next year
Good and a little expensive ($26 per person) but it does the job and its good. Family friendly and welcoming beautiful place.
Its very well organized, but the atmosphere and the food are somewhat lacking in flavor.
Its the kind of cabin from the past, very different from the commercial cabins found on the south shore. The food is excellent and diverse. There is the traditional menu, but also various dishes that you cannot find elsewhere. Its not too sweet and the food doesnt make you feel queasy. Perfect. The place is clean, clean bathroom. The view of the mountains is great. I love the place! Warm, friendly people and I recommend it to everyone.
Standard food, delicious taffy
Buffet prepared on site with quality food. As many traditional dishes as revisited dishes. Unrivaled respect for the environment and a large dining room ideal for groups
Too expensive for the quality, cold food and general quality really below expectations. Really not recommended.
Good organization of the owner for the management of his room. Modern and simple appointment scheduling.
We arrived at 6 p.m., the boss made us feel pressured to eat. Cold food, I dont recommend this place, way too expensive!
Disappointing as a sugar shack, the quality of the food leaves something to be desired, the physical layout of the place means that the wait for the buffet is very long. The kitchen attendant who fills the serving dishes is very slow and prevents the waiting line from moving forward properly. Few spaces between tables. The snow for taffy leaves something to be desired. In addition, there is a smell of propane gas in the reception room, there is not even a smell of maple. Prepared foods do not taste like maple syrup. Very disappointing for the price which is clearly exaggerated for the food offered.
We felt very welcome, the food is very good, not a lot of fat or salt. There are also new additions to the meal. The place has been renovated and the little cabin to get maple taffy is very pleasant. Thanks for the good service.
