I have to say, my experience was disappointing, especially considering the price. I ordered two Paneer Lababdar and one Veg Bhuna, expecting a flavorful and satisfying meal that would last me a few days. Instead, I was charged $60 for what turned out to be a subpar meal. First off, the bill said "3 Paneer Sabji," which was confusing because I specifically ordered the Paneer Lababdar. The dishes were incredibly overpriced for what they offered. The Paneer Lababdar, which is usually rich and flavorful with a nice balance of spice, was a major letdown. It wasn’t red as it should be, and the taste was completely off—bland, watery, and not spicy at all. Not what I was expecting from a signature Indian dish. The Veg Bhuna, which is supposed to be a savory, slightly spicy dry curry, was surprisingly sour. It had an unbalanced tang that made it difficult to enjoy, and the overall taste was far from the deep, complex flavors I’m used to. I often rely on Indian takeout as a convenient meal to stretch across several days, but these dishes didn’t even come close to meeting that need. The portion sizes were small, and the quality was poor. Overall, I would not recommend this place, especially at that price point. It’s clear that the quality didn’t match the cost, and I left feeling like I had wasted both my money and my appetite. I would like some kind of compensation for the management for the trouble I had to go through.
We’ve been to this location twice. The first time the service and food was fantastic. We ended up coming back 4 days later! The second visit was a bad experience. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the service was incredibly slow. It took 30 minutes to get tea, our naan bread was forgotten about, the rice in the buffet was hard, and they ran out of main dishes because they weren’t paying attention. Again, we were the only ones there. The servers seemed distracted by visitors or catering?! Not to mention there were several flies around our table while eating. Unfortunately, when brought up to the server she seemed awkward instead of apologetic and ended up charging me full price for our three meals (over $100). The taste of the food here is fantastic. We will for sure do pickup again. Unfortunately, after that service when just experience on Sunday, we will avoid dinning in.
My wife and I went for supper and the buffet was fantastic. Everything was hot, fresh, beautiful and delicious. The owner served us and her pride in the food service and cleanliness were evident. Thank you so much. Our kids loved the cinnamon naan that came home.
As long time clients, we loved the earlier decor, and love even more the newly renovated dining area. So open and easy to navigate. No crowding tables and chairs to walk by for buffet or any other reason to walk around. Like the beer fridge with so many choices. ;-) We brought a large party of guests (mostly new to this menu style) on a week day, and Monica accommodated us to have the buffet even though it was lunch. The food was prepared literally as we were arriving, so fresh was the order of the day. The service was very prompt and excellent. Money is a great server. I think we've converted a few more locals to this menu and we'll be back again and again.
I don’t really ever leave negative reviews but oh man.. it was bad. love Indian food and the other two new asian village locations in Edmonton so we gave this one a try while we were around. It is far worse than other locations not even a comparison. At the buffet it was definitely lacking diversity and even then a lot of food trays were empty. I was thinking about taking a picture to show how many were empty but I felt awkward since the kitchen was open and they could see😭 Also, the worker was walking by several times but no one took our dishes away the whole time. We have never been to a buffet or an all you can eat restaurant where they don’t take customers dishes. And here is the picture of the piled up dishes. The taste of foods also was way worse than the other locations. We wanted to treat ourselves today but it was very disappointing. We will just go to the other two locations not here again.
Such a great place. Love the Indian flare options. The portions are perfect, sometimes enough for leftovers.
Amazing customer service but unfortunately the food didn’t match it. Undercooked Naan and the gravy of chicken was very thin. I would prefer going to south side one unfortunately
Such a great place! Monika is such a sweet lady. Wonderful food, appetizers made fresh to order and comes as part as the buffet. All the food was fabulous and desserts were amazing (you have to try the Saffron Icecream) Monika mentioned that she is going to start serving breakfasts soon, one of which is going to be a samosa eggs Benedict 🤤🤤🤤
I love Indian food and have been to different restaurants and wanted to try this place, so I came here with my team for Christmas dinner, but believe me this was my bad decision. It was a nightmare and I totally lost trust in New Asian Village Sherwood park. Food quality and taste: Horrible, Too salty Buffet Price: Too much, as it was competing with other restaurants but taste was at bottom line. Food variety in buffet: Limited. Recommendations: Never Eat here, you will loose your money, be disappointed and will loose trust in Indian quality food and taste.
Used the Too Good To Go app for the first time. For $9.99 you get a $30 value apparently. I think at $9.99 I overpaid for what ultimately was 1/2 the container of rice, 2 chicken legs and some chick peas in sauce. Very misleading. Added on 1 piece of naan while there which was $4.15. So for $15 not much food. Won t be back.
I wish I could give zero , buffet meno wasn t good, food feels like it was sitting there from weeks.. Only one good thing enough parking because no one was there even on weekend.. Food
Went there on Sunday, as a party of 6, experience was horrible, food was cooked and sitting there for long time and taste was bad. Will never go back ever again.
Excellent food, quick service. We will be joining you again.
Vegetarian options: Lots of options Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly
Today, I visited New Asian Village, and I loved it! The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the staff were very welcoming. The food was delicious, with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Asian cuisine!
Went there today and it s a weird 3 in 1 restaurant. My friends and I ordered the buffet . The buffet you can only choose your meat dish. The rest is decided for you. At a price of 25 bucks, I d rather be able to pick and choose. The samosas were thin slimy things you might get at m&m markets. The butter chicken gravy was like alphaghetti. My friends ordered their curries with spice and no spice. Not a lot of flavor. Pakoras were salty. We waited well over 30 minutes for food (it was not busy) and when we took the lid off our water, there was a hair in it. Not a great experience. The atmosphere was across between breakfast diner and something else. Definitely won t go again.
Great food, great atmosphere, Best Service!!
This was my first time here and it did not disappoint! I went for the buffet and was very impressed. The owner went out of her way to make me feel welcome. What a great place!
Fantastic Dining Experience at New Asian Village New Asian Village offers an exceptional mix of authentic Asian dishes with incredible flavors. The food is fresh and perfectly prepared, with standout dishes like the crispy spring rolls and sizzling fish pakora. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is friendly and attentive. A must-visit for anyone craving delicious Asian cuisine in a great setting!
Most worst experience ever. They should close their business. Firstly when we entered the lady working there said us that you cannot sit on the another lighting side as she has mop the floor there. Secondly, when we ordered strawberry slush she said shes not sure about that they have in stock or not. We ordered spring rolls and chilli paneer. Spring rolls were served like we are eating at home no plating at all. Secondly, the chilli paneer was not having any spice level paneer was so difficult to chew. It was something like synthetic rubber not the original paneer. Totally a waste of money. I suggest not to go here. Worst customer service also. The lady was shouting so loudly on her employees that it was so embarrassing. Its a workplace man you cant shout like this on your workers no matter what. Dont visit its such a waste of money and your time.
A lot of talking by the owner but no real taste in food
Best Indian Restaurant in all of Alberta Monika is so nice & there s a breakfast place in here too called Sunny Side Up & it s very nice would totally recommend! Food
Tasty
Very good food would definitely be coming back soon
Always such a lovely experience to enjoy the food, comfortable and fun atmosphere and the caring servers. What a pleasure for our family to come and enjoy an evening at your restaurant!
This is the second time I ve been here. The first time was for brunch and it was amazing!!!! I never had eggs benny on a samosa before. It was so good!!! I ll never eat an egg benny any other way again! The owner is so awesome and she was so nice to my kids. It was such a great experience that I decided to come for the buffet. The food was very good and the staff are so nice. Once again I ve had an amazing experience. The owner mentioned that it s been slower than usual which is so sad. She deserves the business so I implore you all to give this place a try.
Honestly I don t want to leave the bad reviews but the atmosphere doesn t seem like a restaurant. We went for buffet. Most of the buffet pots there were empty. Like people always prefer buffet to try new things. There were only 2-3 things which were good but the taste of food doesn t has a quality and doesn t meet expectations. Honestly, there were no customer s there then I don t know why they are taking so much time to make naan. Buffet means help yourself but we had to ask several times whats the sweet dish, can you give us appetizers, or can you fill butter chicken like I never seen buffet like this bad in my entire life. They charge $26 pp not totally worth it. I would rather go to south new asian which is highly recommended. Please don t go there and save your money. Thanks
Just ordered their butter chicken and naan bread. The butter chicken sauce was good however the chicken not so. The naan bread was terrible, heavy and tuff much like a piece of rubber. We have eaten their naan before and found it delicious but something has gone very wrong since that time. Unfortunately we won t be back.
Visited today with the friends, food was really awesome. Mani, their best employee served us, she was fabulous, definitely revisiting again.
Good food. Place doubles as a breakfast joint. Was disappointed with the decor.
The amount of food you get in a $30 order hardly feeds 1 person. Extremely overpriced.
It is one of the best services i have ever experienced in Sherwood Park. Menu could be a simple one hard to search for the items .Its great to serve N number of cuisine. its my personal opinion to be simple .That can give more opportunities to explore through different items and curiosity to try more of explicit cuisine and to keep the consistency. Great Hatsoff of the boy who attended the table was very charming and pleasant . Will be coming again to have Chole Bature for sure
Asian Village has been my all-time favorite restaurant since 2016, and the Sherwood Park location stands out among their three branches. Although Ive never visited in person, I frequently order through Uber Eats, and their chicken korma is the best in Edmonton. Despite not meeting the staff face-to-face, I can tell that the team, including the chef, are wonderful individuals. They consistently send complimentary items, making me feel special and blessed. I highly recommend this location to all Edmontonians.
Great food and service. Would definitely recommend this place.
Highly recommend this wonderful gem in Sherwood Park. Gracious and welcoming hospitality, generous portions of quality tasty food! Check out this local family business. They have renovated and are now serving breakfast! Check it out, you won t be disappointed!
Food is Delicious, atmosphere is upbeat. Monika is truly friendly and welcoming. Excellent service. Definitely go again. Its clean and plenty of parking. Naan and Chicken Tikka was delicious. Staff is Efficient and friendly. Love the Breakfast Specials Parking: Parking is good for small Wedding, engagement or perfect place for Birthday party
waited 45 minutes to get a take out order. got home only to find out it was the wrong order.
We came for an early supper and the restaurant was quiet, and the music was authentic and unobtrusive. Our hostess was pleasant and bubbly. The buffet was excellent and the hot curry sauce is actually spicy. The buffet dishes are not full, for a reason. This is so that the food is always fresh. The appetizers were brought out to our table, piping hot. The food here is delicious and we will be back.
Great service and food. Our server was really sweet. We were visiting from BC. And went to try their buffet but ended up ordering from A la carte. If you do not like your food mild i would recommend ordering from main menu which was great. Chef is really nice and made food exactly how we asked for. Highly recommend
Great Catering experience, very accommodating, very reasonable prices! We will defiantly be back! - Thanks New Asian Village.
I order takeout noodle was not good at all
Came for brunch, was tempted by the Indian menu instead! So happy with my choices. Mattar paneer, butter chicken poutine was a surprising win, and fresh fresh naan. Yum! Will be back.
Tried their breakfast for the first time this morning, I had the $9.99 special which was more than enough, and cooked perfectly. My brother had the eggs Benny on a samosa which was delicious. Service was excellent! Thanks Money for the great dining experience. We will definitely be back.
Sadly really disappointed in the food this time around. I have been going here since it came to the park but the food just doesnt hit the same as it used to. It feels very westernized and changed since covid. We used to love the food but our delivery recently was okay but we know it can be better. Side note: the wraps are just normal wraps, naan isnt used as the wrap and the masala fries are lackluster. Back in 2013 this place used to be so good. Not sure anymore.
Great food and great selection
Worst service I received from this restaurant.
The food was really good! But equally as important, the service was amazing. Id recommend this restaurant
So good would definitely recommend to eat here sooo tasty
Such flavourful and delicious food. The chefs did an amazing job. If in the mood to try something new, well worth it. So good. Must try. Tell your friends. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian chili Dietary restrictions: No coconut for those with allergies Parking: Right beside salvation army thrift store.
Came here for a lunch meeting. Great food. Fast service.
Love love love
Food was fantastic
Great food and the owner is very hospitable.
Nice atmosphere very attentive staff. Ordered at the table instead of buffet so fresh and delicious with lots to take home. Definitely recommend for a nice dinner out.
If a restaurant cant make authentic dal makhni which is the signature and most basic dish in Indian cuisine then it shouldnt call itself an Indian restaurant.
Monica is so friendly.. such a loving experience a must visit restaurant.
Indulging in the exquisite culinary offerings at New Asian Village was an unparalleled delight. Under the impeccable stewardship of Monika, each dish is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to tantalize the senses. A true gem in the realm of Indian cuisine.
Food is amazing & chef Hari is making great testy food
Food is really good. Specially Dal Tadka, kadhai paneer and Gulab jamun highly recommend. Service is so good specially Mr. Hari.
Had a fantastic time eating here. The owner Monica was a complete hoot, and really made the experience special. Id definitely come here again, for both the fresh food and the laughs. Thanks for the great experience!!! Vegetarian options: Lots of food for us vegetarian....and pescatarians..and flexitarians....and carnivores
We enjoyed the buffet, and the service was amazing, the intire experience was like visiting a friends house for dinner. My daughter even said as we left, that our server was her new bestie. We will definitely be back. Food
Fantastic buffet. A true explosion of flavors. Wonderful friendly and attentive staff. Reasonable prices, I definitely recommend New Asian Village. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free choices.
New Asian Village is totally wicked! TFC chicken with fries, and butter chicken & naan bread mmm! Free cinnamon bun ice cream too! Monika is a Gem!
Fantastic place for a big birthday dinner! Delicious food and lots of options on the buffet, and the owner took great care of us. Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options and safe for peanut allergies
Vegetarian options: Exquisite service and food, highly recommended, very friendly staff and well maintained environment. Will definitely be coming here more often. Food
Vegetarian options: Great selection and delicious meals, highly recommended loved it. Food
Not tasty food at all never gonna order again I don t wanna give this restaurant even one star fish pakora was one of the worst dish
Worst food ever worst taste ever never gonna order again disgusting food and when complained about it they said white people like this food okayyyy its indian for a reason keep it indian and I am sure white people will love that too change your chef or shutdown your restaurant
Had a wonderful time with our family and friends... very friendly people, wonderful food and Service. Owner took the kids to the kitchen and they were taught how to make Naan bread and see how it was cooked. Very Cool. Highly recommend. Fun experience!
I attended new Asian village in Sherwood park for a friends bday dinner. I have never recieved such great, attentive service in my life. All food in the buffet was fresh and hot and sooooo tasty! The kids got to help make cinnamon naan, and they dressed the birthday girl and her husband up in authentic Indian attire and we danced through the restaurant. Top notch ownership, service, and food!
I like their butter chicken and coconut nang !And great service
Been sitting at my table for 30 minutes and there has been no water or any beverage offered. Everything swimming in oil and butter.
So glad we came here. Owner was hands on and welcoming, food was delicious and appetizers are made fresh, and staffs hospitality was incredible but not smothering
Amazing service and delicious food! Highly recommend. My son and I were greeted by the ower and made to feel like we got a customized experience. I cant wait to try their new breakfast menu in the near future!
Amazing staff and the owner is very welcoming,my uncle told the owner that I liked to cook and the owner asked me if I wanted to make some. Overall, great experience, would recommend it
Everything about this evening s dinner was phenomenal! Monica and her staff, including their server and two chefs, made our dinner experience phenomenal and extremely enjoyable for my daughters. The interactive experience and deliciously fresh buffet dinner was enjoyed by all of us and we look forward to coming back!!!! Thank you for delicious Nutella naan for the road trip home!!!!
I have always loved this place! My favorite place to come eat. Smells amazing when you walk in. Great atmosphere! Staff & owners are so friendly. They even give back to their community too! How amazing is that?! They donated chopsticks to our event so the kids could learn how to use them! So amazing to have great people in the community!
There isnt an option to put 0 stars or I would. Worst experience ever. Worst food ever there was not even a single dish that was warm everything was ice cold. We found hair in our food, and had upset stomachs from the buffet. Even the cutlery was dirty. Horrible experience got charged $100 for three people. Would never go again. Do not recommend.
Wonderful decor, tasty food and authentic Indian flavours! Will come back again soon!
I checked out New Asian Village in Sherwood Park a while back. Overall, it was a decent experience. They have a decent number of food selections (various rice, chicken, and vegetarian dishes) for their buffer. However, they have less items than some other Indian buffets at a similar price so I d give them 7.5/10
Beautiful Restaurant, very warm welcome, Excellent service, Tasty Authentic Indian food ..
Owner was super friendly. Staff was also so friendly and nice. Food came out fast and was well prepared. We ordered butterchicken and rice with naan. We will be back
Best Indian food in town and great service. Try the ice cream!
The smell was not pleasant.
Finally checked out the buffet. Really good. The ice cream is really good, and their butter chicken is fantastic. All the servers were really nice. Naan was also made fresh and really good. Highly recommend.
Must say the food was great and the owner is a nice person. She always give us complimentary ice cream when we visit there.
Really big let down. This place is really not the place for Indian food. Went for the buffet & everything was luke warm & flavourless. The butter chicken tasted like ketchup with cream. There are PLENTY of better restaurants that will hit the spot in Edmonton. Their naan is decent if I had to say so, but the other dishes here are not worth spending money on. The staff are very friendly & nice but I sadly wont be returning here since my tastebuds know better...
I ordered food for a surprise birthday party for my wife and New Asian village went above and beyond. Monika was great to deal with and everything was on time, as advertised and delicious. I will be recommending this location to everyone. Thank you New Asian Village!!
The food here is incredible and the restaurant is gorgeous! We stopped in for our anniversary/engagement celebration and were not disappointed. We even brought a friend who isnt too adventurous with food, and he found that he loved it too 10/10 would recommend!
Food is so good!!!! I don t like spicy but nothing was too spicy for me to eat!! Their popcorn chicken and butter chicken as well as their garlic naan .so .good!!!!!
I don t eat at buffets but today was the day I decided to go for it, and it was amazing! Service was unreal. Monica was so kind to us and brought food right to our table because it was closing time. Monica served us and took great care of us and was asking what we needed all the time. Definitely would come here again!
Thank you Monika and New Asian Village Sherwood park for catering our dinner event. The food was fantastic and the portion sizes were so generous. Looking forward to eating at the restaurant soon!
This is our favorite place to eat. We don t eat out much, but this has been our go-to location for special occasions. We just tried doing take-out and had a really good experience. We will be doing it again when we are in a rush instead of doing drive though at a fast food place. The owner is an incredible person with a great big heart for her community. Support this local business!
Very good Indian food and the coconut ice cream is a great finishing touch. We will be back again. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options were very good. Parking: Lots of parking on 2 sides of the building. Kid-friendliness: Kids enjoyed the butter chicken and loved the ice cream.
Food was ok, but definitely less authentic than it used to be. Seemed gravies were less spices and more tomato. Service was not great. It took them a while to serve, then brought out the two subzis/gravies and had to wait for naan bread to eat it with. By the time naan came out the subzis were cold. Not great! Atmosphere was nice with the ambience and also music live. Cost is overpriced for a not so great service or taste though! Did like the fact they seem to be supporting local artists and musicians though!
We had our staff Christmas party here with about 90 people, they handled us with ease and the food was great. The staff were very very pleasant, I could eat the garlic naan bread all day long!
Wonderful place run by a wonderful lady! The food is delicious and the ambience is excellent! We had a buffet which had good options. Mango lassi is really good! Highly recommend if youre looking for good Indian food!
Lovely restaurant. The food is amazing, and always friendly
Best butter chicken I have EVER had!! Staff is super nice and helpful. Definitely a must go again.
Really good food and service nice and cozy place .
Came here on a Friday night hoping to have their buffet dinner but due to low volume of customers, they decided to close their buffet early. Admittingly, we came into the restaurant at 8pm which is past typical dinner hours (although they advertise that they close at 10pm). We were about to leave to go somewhere else, however, the staff who worked there insisted on offering us freshly cooked buffet platters which should include most of the food that they normally serve during their peak buffet hours. We obliged and decided to stay. When the food arrived, I was disappointed to see that there were ONLY FOUR types of dishes served in the buffet platter which consisted of butter chicken, chili chicken, chana masala, and bhindi aloo (excluding nan bread, rice, dessert pudding). In addition, the food felt cold and the serving size was small for a buffet platter. I later had to request for more food but even then, the extra food that came out were still small in portion and tasted dry as if it were microwaved. I wish the staff could have been more honest about the variety and portion size of what was promised to us from the get-go. In the end, I did not feel completely full but still had to pay the full $30 per person price for their extremely limited buffet platter. When we went to pay for the meal, another staff processed our bill and the total cost per person came out to be $32.50 including GST. Whereas it should have been $31.50 per person including GST. This did not occurred to me until I got home. Where did the extra charge $1 charge come from? We did not order anything else besides the $30 meal. The extra dollar is not a big deal but the fact that this extra amount got added to my bill without any communication is what bothers me. Despite all of that, I have to give credit for their friendliness, their efforts in serving us, and the four delicious dishes that were initially served to us.
Waited almost 20 minutes to be seated when the restaurant only had 3 tables occupied. Then the plates at the buffet had greasy residue on them. We left without eating after that.
We had a amazing dinner and entertainment
Amazing!! Highly recommend
I called and ordered some Naan bread. Lady mentioned that they were $4 each and large. So figured fine, would give it a go. But they were not large at all. Other places in Sherwood Park has better value for Naan bread.
The food is so good and the Bira too
Wonderful experience and food was excellent!! Owner, chefs and staff were amazing. Definitely an experience we will remember. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options. Parking: Lots of parking. Kid-friendliness: They make it an enjoyable experience for all ages.
Everything was great, food was tasty, but the decor was a bit weird. I think its odd that they have Christmas wreaths for sale on the wall. If they got rid of the craft sale items I think it would feel more classy and be a more relaxing dining experience. Vegetarian options: At least 4 dishes in the buffet, such as Paneer and daal, were vegetarian.
The food wasnt as good as it used to be. Sorry!
This is the first time we ve been here. I ve wanted to go for a while because of all the rave reviews I ve seen. It did not disappoint! We had the buffet on a Saturday evening. The food was sooo good! The atmosphere was so nice and inviting and there was a live singer. Monika, the owner was talking to everyone and was very friendly and personable. She even said if you want a specific menu item on the buffet to call her the day before and request it and she will make sure they make it! I can t say enough great things about New Asian Village!
Very unfortunate, I have nothing bad to say about the food at all. I did have issue with the service. The older woman had made me feel very uncomfortable; the service was not just lacking, but to the point where there was no professionalism at all. Several comments by the servers could be interrupted as demeaning. I am really sorry to say this as the food was excellent.
Buffet lunch. Limited selection. But great flavor. Hot fresh Naan.
Nice service, restaurant owner nature is nice
Im not sure if we were here on an off day or what, but I was beyond disappointed! This place used to have an amazing buffet with some lovely Indian dishes. This was not the case this past weekend. They had Irish potato soup, meatballs, and Sheppards pie. What?! Sorry, but I didnt come here for fusion foods, plus the fusion wasnt even good. The butter chicken was okay, but thats a pretty Canadianized dish and Ive never really been a fan. I wanted more assortment, more curries, and authentic Indian dishes. It seems like this place has gone downhill and theyre grasping at straws...And not the right straws either. Especially with the tacky craft stuff. I get that theyre trying to support other community businesses...But this doesnt seem appropriate. I remember New Asian Village being a classy beautiful place, this is NOT what it is anymore. It feels like a dollar store. Sell classy artwork or items that match the rest of your decor. Oh, and even some of their dishes and paper liners have a different company on them. Even if its their company, it doesnt seem right. I think it adds to the tacky/cheapness. I dont imagine Ill be back. There are so many great Indian places now.
So had the buffet platter because the place was empty on a thursday night. Saffron rice, shai paneer, butter chicken, fish pakpra, mini samosas, chana masala and garlic naan. Okay the food was mediocre at best, was not a full serve buffet because there was no one there, but they gave the option of all you could eat as a platter. Still confused about that, also I wasnt able to eat the platter I got. Chana masala was mostly salt, pretty sure the base for the butter chicken and paneer is Campbells tomato soup. But the server and the manager(?) were friendly, put them in with a good restaurant and it would do well. So service good, food lacking. The price makes it worth the drive to Edmonton for really good food.
They slay <3 food is straight up bussin ;)
I came here last night and I had a wonderful experience. I was served by chef CP Singh and Hannah and their customer service was amazing. CP Singh and Hannah made the atmosphere feel great and I am definitely coming back again. Also the rose petal ice cream was fantastic. Thank you
Ive ordered from here a few times and its always great! Fresh and hot. Definitely worth trying something new if youve never eaten Indian food. Or trying something different even if you have! My favorites here are Rogan Josh (oily so if that bothers you avoid it) or the Vindaloo. Medium spicy is a good level for most people! Naan here is fantastic, try the coconut naan if you want a treat! Or the rose ice cream!
Vegetarian options: Excellent food. The chef CP Singy is fabulous. Service is exceptional and it s always a pleasure to dine here.
We have ordered take out semi regularly from here but this was our first time dining in. Got the pleasure of meeting the owner who was super welcoming and accommodating. Got to try a few new dishes we wouldn t have normally had the opportunity to try, found a few new favourites! We will definitely be dining in more often. Vegetarian options: Mutter paneer and butter paneer were both super flavourful and tasty. Lots of vegetarian appetizers and main dishes to try. Dietary restrictions: They made me a few dishes that weren t part of the buffet to accommodate my dietary restrictions and didn t charge any extra! I felt really appreciated and ended up finding a few new favourites.
The food is always amazing, complex flavours and good quality every time. The owners are very friendly and make each table feel appreciated and welcome. My family and I always enjoy ordering take out or dining in, can t go wrong either way.
Its a India food resteraunt.
One of the best indian food in Edmonton ...I never had this type of delicious food in Edmonton.
ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL! SCRUMPTIOUS! BEST CINNAMON & NUTELLA NAAN EVEEEEERRRR!! BEST SERVICE BY HANNAH HERLSELF, SHE SO FRIENDLY, YALL SHOULD GO HERE! I WILL BE COMING BACK! MONIKA IS AN AMAZING AND GORGEOUS OWNER! SO KIND! GREAT ATMOSPHERE!
Authentic Asian taste. Unfortunately, Specially on weekends, Buffet closed early. Food
Awesome food. Highly recommended
Worst food worst service Advertisement is outside says buffet you go in it s called mini buffet. There is a difference between buffet and mini buffet . Never come back
Try the fried chicken. Its like nothing youve ever had before. Absolutely delicious
I had such a great experience here. The food was amazing, the staff were so friendly and they made my mothers day dinner really special. They had great live entertainment, and even gave me a free mothers day balloon and candle. I recommend this restaurant. 10 out of 10.
Food quality and quantity was excellent no words. Love this place. Near to Sherwood flying j Must try this place.
Tried the buffet today the quality was ok but nothing special! The buffet was limited to 4 choices, for the price was definetly overpriced. It was disapointing to say the least.
Not good compare to haveli and all india restaurant taste
Monica and her staff are always a pleasure to deal with and the food and service is always first class.
My friend took me this restaurant my first time eating here. Great service (great chat with the owner) and amazing food.I m from Toronto and I been looking for good Indian food here in Edmonton and this restaurant is on my top of the list for good Indian food.
The BEST Naan bread in town! AYCE Buffet Mango Coconut IceCream is yummy! This place supports all local small businesses. I was thrilled to learn Sound Bath from Sarah and enjoyed a Belly Dance Performance by @marie_barabash Its more than a restaurant, they also do catering and party events. The owner is super friendly. Please support LOCAL! @newasianvillagesherwood
A bit too pricey for me but others may like it.
Wont ever go again. Go here if you want kitchen staff to hit on your girlfriend In front of you during a date. And then come to your table during your meal and interrupt it to continue to talk to your girlfriend. Terrible experience.
We arrived when the staff had left building to help an elderly customer who had suffered a medical condition, driving her home. The only person left behind was CP, working in the kitchen. He was kind and professional, taking our order and preparing an amazing meal for my beautiful wife and I. the Dhaal and the Bagran Bartha were perfectly balanced between flavors and spiciness. The owner returned from her assisting the customer and greeted us warmly, making sure we felt at home. Great food and great atmosphere.
Monica is a delight. She took my wife on a food tasting tour. We, both found new flavors to enjoy. The atmosphere and food were amazing. And the coconut ice cream...oh my. The price was definitely right.
Food are fantastic and very testy. Indian vegetarian and non vegetarian foods are Awesome. The owner is very polite. 5 Star for this place - ambience , Food , service and taste. Vegetarian options: Tadka Dal and Jeera rice is very good
incredible food, amazing service and very caring.
Fantastic service and housemade soft surf ice cream was amazing.
Our families favourite buffet. Love the Chai
Food was alright.
The best East Indian Food I ve ever had: nicest owner. Great chefs. Would recommend to absolutely everyone and anyone!! 10/10
Best Indian food in Sherwood park and the service is beyond friendly - the Hostess/owner treats you like a friend, and the food is always excellent Kid-friendliness: Brought a high chair to our table for my grandson
Amazing food, great service Dietary restrictions: They made gluten free bread for us! Food : 5/5 |
Lovely food, lovely people. Thank you!
Great Leadership. The ice cream tastes very good.
The owner takes pride in this establishment. Works hard to accommodate everyone. Being in the service industry I would definitely recommend others to visit this establishment. You wouldn t be disappointed.
We finally got to check out this place! Honestly it was amazing. We went on a slower day (Tuesday) and they didnt have the full buffet, however they made a bunch of fresh food for us to serve to our table alongside the little buffet food. As well as fresh homemade naan (which was to die for) the woman was very friendly and even took my son to make a little ice cream sundae. We will definitely be back and love the atmosphere, food and the wonderful service. If you want to feel like family, come here.
Delicious.
I was expecting better but.....Maybe Indian food isnt for me...
With a group of four adults and two children we had a delightful meal at New Asian Village Sherwood Park. There was a large variety of very tasty dishes at the buffet, complete with desserts. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming and explained the food to us. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with interesting decor from India. We shall certainly return soon for another delicious and interesting dinner experience. Dietary restrictions: One person is very gluten intolerant and had no trouble finding dishes that they could eat. They provided extra gluten-free choices when they learned of this dietary restriction. Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating of the childrens picky behavior and supplied alternatives.
Food was delicious and very fresh! Will definitely be back and recommend to others!
The food was amazing and so was the service!! Everyone was so nice and the interior is beautiful. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in the area
Love the butter chicken
Fantastic service. Very kind. Went out of the way. Brought specific dishes when buffet was out. Best Chai to top it off! Massi cho
I was craving butter chicken and NAV did not disappoint! Super friendly service and a fun atmosphere too! If you haven t tried Indian food, you are missing out! Vegetarian options: The vegetarian chilli at the buffet was so flavourful! Parking: Lots of room for parking. Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Reserved parking and ramps.
I am sorry to be late in writing my review for this place. I meant to write it immediately and some personal reasons got me distracted and then it slipped my mind. I hosted a party here in January 2023. The most cooperative people and amazing hospitality. The food was very delicious. What I loved was the chef took a lot of interest in our likes and dislikes and catered the menu accordingly. They also gave us a nice place in the restaurant for our party. Highly recommend this place. Thanks to Monica and Chandrapal for organizing the party for us!
Took my boys here for a lunch buffet. Food was hot, fresh and incredibly delicious. Service was top-notch. Will absolutely be back!
Vegetarian options: The samosas taste amazing not too spicy, the flavors were amazing. The Masada tea is the best . Lady gave us complimentary ice cream it was absolutely delicious Food
Was very disappointed on Sept 4 at 1pm going to their buffet. They had 1 soup, rice and 2 main dishes. The cost was $25. Very limited and feeling extremely ripped off. Not to mention $5 coffee with no refill
The Buffet was beyond disappointing. No masalas, no tandoori chicken. The lady incharge was annoying. Complained about how slow their summer was and people from the city I dont blame locals for not going there.
Food is lousy and buffet is very expensive .
Food is fantastic the service is delightful love love the place
The staff catered to my grandaughter. Food was good & everyone was so friendly. Cant wait to go back.
Wonderful experience, owner, and chef were completely enchanting. Vegetarian options: Lots of tasty dishes Dietary restrictions: They care about their guests. Just ask and they will help you.
Best food for our families dietary needs!
so we are on the way home from the thanksgiving buffet special & we both feel like we are going to puke. What food was there was good, had a nice variety of food, a bit overpriced but not bad for the freshness! The table across from us were talking very loudly with the employees, having a convo about hot flashes (totally not good for dinner), and also the employee wad having a personal phone call in the middle of the dinning room. What s in the food that made us both want to throw up?!
The service was good and polite. However the food was totally not to the mark. Tandoori chicken - not cooked properly, fish pakora - tasted stale. Overall not impressed with my first visit to this place
Great buffet, friendly server. What more could you want?
There isnt an option to put 0 stars or I would. Worst experience ever. Booked them for our wedding reception and Monica (owner) did not return any phone calls or texts. Terrible communicator, worst food ever. We found hair in our food, and people had upset stomachs from the buffet. Not to mention Monica served our wedding cake to the entire restaurant and kept the wedding buffet open for the entire restaurant. She did not confirm anything prior to the event, menu was not what we selected, and overcharged us for 70 guests when we had 50. Horrible experience. Would never go again. Do not recommend.
Awful experience. Came here for my sister s wedding reception, and there were a multitude of problems. Found a hair in my food from the buffet, service was horrendous, lassi s tasted like salt water, and probably worst of all, there were random customers coming and eating out of our buffet. There were strangers taking pieces of her wedding cake. When staff was confronted, nothing was rectified. One measly sign was put out by the wedding cake tray that you couldn t even read. Don t ever come here.
Very poor experience. Food was below average and service was even worse. We were there for a wedding and the menu items ordered were not all provided. Random customers were at our buffet and were also eating the wedding cake. The service staff were informed and didnt do anything about it until it was too late. Will not ever go to any of their restaurants and recommend you stay away. Many other good Indian restaurants to choose from in Edmonton.
The restaurant wasn t prepared to provide the level of service or quality of food required for a wedding reception. Service required multiple requests for drinks, cutlery, cups and dirty plate removal. My dinner ended with the discovery of a hair in the naan. I would look elsewhere if you are hosting an event.
I and my wife were at asian village buffet on October 13th 2023 for wedding of our nice. The service was lousy and server for table have no courtesy, asked her for drink and she had no gingrale, sprite etc. Needed new glass the lady took the one from but didnt give me one. On top of this their customers started eating our wedding cake. I herd that wedding party invited 50 people but the charged the host for 70 people. So strange. Will never recommend this place.
Only good thing about this place is that there is a McDonald s near by. The service and food there is far more superior than New Asian Village- Sherwood Park. Manager/Owner terrible business acumen. Terrible at communication and leading. Hosted a wedding reception there. Food was subpar, warm and unsanitary. Food not kept in proper temperature zone, leading some of our guests feeling sick. Service was appalling. Poor staffing for scheduled event (cups, replenishing of food, clearing of tables) . Private exclusive buffet booked but made opened to the public without client acknowledgement. Menu served was a bait and switch , not what was promised. Served the bride and grooms wedding cake to the public. The owner/manager needs a a reality check. Stay away. President Choice Butter chicken taste way better then this dump. And the self serve gas station has better service.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Prawn Butter Masala. Food was delivered hot, and quick. I was happy to enjoy luscious prawns instead of wimpy shrimp that Ive sometimes received elsewhere. The masala sauce was delicious. My go to dish is usually Chicken Tika Masala but felt like having sea food instead, and I was not disappointed. Monica provided great service and CP Singh is a great cook. For some reason I have stomach problems with the spices used in some other restaurants, but here I can enjoy the spicey food I like without the heartburn. Vegetarian options: Enoyed Paneer Tika Masala on other occasions. Very good sauces with every dish Ive tried. Parking: No problems with parking
This is my absolute favorite restaurant! Monica always greets us warmly and provides excellant service. Our meal was delivered to our table steaming hot within minutes. I regularly order Paneer Tika Masala, a delicious creamy tomato sauce with lots of chunky paneer, and double garlic naan (best naan Ive ever had). CP Singh is a superb chef and delivers our meals with a bright smile. This is where we bring our family and friends to enjoy curry in a cozy authentic East Indian restaurant. I highly recommend New Asian Village. Vegetarian options: Lots of delicious vegetarian dishes to choose from.
Lunch yesterday, after long absence due to covid and life. Buffet down to 4 items, came with appys and naan. Appys good, butter chicken good, other three items cold. Tried to tell server but he wasn t understanding. $26 each will be awhile before we come again Spoke with Monica and she very graciously apologized for our lunch experience and invited us to try the evening buffet. Very good, hot and plentiful. Thank you Monica and now can award 5 stars.
Amazing spot! Our favorite Indian food in Sherwood Park. You can order buffet or made to order - both fantastic. The staff are all very friendly.
Best buffet in Sherwood park! Amazing staff, perfect food, and a lovely space to sit and stay for a while!
We have had 2 birthday parties at this restaurant this year and both were absolutely amazing. The food was hot and fresh, the atmosphere was great. Monica took great care of us and made sure we had the best experience. Would definitely come back.
I mean lovely people, but the buffet was awful. No decent food and the food sadly wasn t warm and then we were charged $80 for two people. Sadly won t be back. It used to be amazing 10 years ago :,(
Nicest owner Ive ever met, went here for my birthday and the food was delicious!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed celebrating my granddaughters birthday at New Asian Village. They treated her like royalty! They did not have her favorite dish(palak paneer) in the buffet, so they made a fresh order for her, and it came accompanied by an appetizer platter. The food, mango lassis, Chai tea were all very good. The customer service was outstanding! They even had a piece of pink cake with a sparkler and sang happy birthday! We will definitely be returning!
Kid-friendliness: Kids buffet reduced price Food
They have promotion for $10 but bill for I received $26. I was ask why and he doesn t have any answer, makes some story for me. Not recommended anyone.Thank you
I had a really good experience here and I especially liked (Hari) the man who was the best worker I ve seen. He had a really big heart because he gave me dessert on my way out after my meal for free.
Worth the 2 and half hour drive awesome staff is really great
Fantastic food and great staff! 10/10
Monika and Nikki were the best and they gave us fresh food kudo to the chef CP who cooked the best food ever will be back and bring more
Chef CP made so good and tasty food i ever eat . I really recommend this place .
Truly one of the gems in Sherwood Park for a restaurant. The food is fresh, hot & tasty.
Everything is 5 star. StAff, food & AtMOSphERE.. REALLY APPRECIATE.
We tried the buffet and everything was unreal! The staff was very friendly aswell. Had a great anniversary dinner.
Ripoff.
Great food,entertainment and.workerd
Today i visit new asian village ,staff was very friendly and food amazing . So i will be visit soon .
It was awesome experience! Food was super good. Service excellent! Felt we too celebrated Divali with them. Keep it up.
Beautiful dining area And the to go containers are a sign of two amazing things. One- filling portions, two- so many choices of food. Our trays were full of dishes and flavours. The naan was addicting. Trying each others plates was the only way to come close to tasting all the amazing food that was offered. You have to try this place. And take the advice of the server. They want you to try new things and enjoy your experience. The fried chicken was incredible. And the spice levels of the dishes were adjusted to cater to the individuals tolerance. Definitely going back. That is an establishment that cares about food and their customers.
We left a voice message yesterday at approximately 3:10 and never heard back.
New to the town, friend recommended the place. Cant say enough good things about, Monica and this place. The atmosphere the service the food was all outstanding. We came in and she opened her restaurant to us like we were family. Will totally be back and bringing others too. Friday nights is live music too. Thank you again Monica and staff. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Superb service. The owner Monica is a star, food was very tasty. Vegetarian options: Many many Dietary restrictions: My husband is gluten intolrant, the owner was greatly helpful with options for him. Parking: Parking is at the restaurant door Kid-friendliness: My son is a foodie, he was pampered and spoilt by the service.
Monica, the owner, walked me through their Gluten Free menu, and practices. My daughter, 6, has Celiac Disease and there are limited places she can enjoy a restaurant experience. After talking with Monica, and our ordering experience, we will be long time supporters/customers of New Asian Village in Sherwood Park. Thank you!
No hand sanitizer on payment counter. Naan was not properly made, very greasy, and doughy. Going back to Little India Restaurant.
I went here when it first opened, and come back every time Im in Sherwood Park. The Mill woods location is great as well.
We ordered takeout from New Asian Village in Sherwood Park for a family birthday celebration and it was amazing. Highly recommend the butter chicken, beef korma, yellow daal, chicken tikka masala, jeera rice, coconut rice, veggie samosas, naan, and chai ice cream. Cant wait to order again!
Perfect spot to host family parties - friendly staff and a great selection of appetizers and banquets..
I decided to treat myself tonight and was sadly disappointed. I usually order from the Tamarack location and it s always hot and flavours are good. This location is in no way a comparison, food had way less flavour and dishes were bland, even the naan bread wasn t good. Never again
The few times Ive been here, I have not experienced any of the negative comments that Ive read. All the food Ive had here has been good to great. I forget what kind of lamb I had that was out of this world. I tried the buffet and it was just fine (but I didnt try everything - oddly, Im not a butter chicken fan). What stood out for me was the dal. Im a carnivore right to the bone, but the dal was knock your socks off great! The chai was pretty much burn your lips hot and thats the way it should come to the table in my books. And who would have thought of chai ice cream? What a delight! I would be remiss if I didnt say that the owner, Monika, is an absolute delight.
Friendly service, the owner is very kind, the food was amazing. Definitely coming back to this location again, on a night with live music!
Excellent food every time we go Always get the Buffet meal... Highly recommend this place. Food : 5/5
