200 Festival Ln #125, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 4Y8, Canada
A tiny Japanese restaurant tucked in the heart of Sherwood Park focused on sustainable, local, and conscious eating with lots of gluten free options. Please make reservations before visiting since out restaurant is very small. ごはん、ちゃんと。 We are a tiny restaurant, reservations are recommended. Thank you, stay safe ❤️
I recently dined at Kobachi Japanese Cuisine in Sherwood Park, Alberta, and while the meal initially impressed me with its presentation and flavors, my experience was ultimately marred by an unpleasant aftermath. Food Highlights: 1. Appetizers and Small Plates: The crispy rice crackers topped with avocado and tuna were delicious, with a great balance of flavors and textures. The grilled mushrooms were also a standout, seasoned perfectly and complemented by fresh microgreens. 2. Sashimi Platter: The variety of fresh sashimi, including salmon, scallops, and squid, was beautifully presented. The quality appeared excellent, and each piece was flavorful. 3. Beef Yakiniku: The grilled beef was tender and flavorful, served with steamed rice and a refreshing side salad. It felt like a comforting and hearty choice. Concerns: Unfortunately, despite the high-quality presentation and flavors, I experienced stomach issues (diarrhea) shortly after the meal. This was disappointing, as I had high expectations for the restaurant based on the food and ambiance. I cannot confirm whether it was a food safety issue or a personal reaction, but it did detract from what could have been an enjoyable experience. Service and Atmosphere: The staff were friendly and attentive, and the cozy, inviting atmosphere made for a pleasant dining environment. Value for Money: The bill came to $100 ish for two guests, which felt reasonable for the premium quality of the meal. However, given my subsequent health issue, I cannot fully justify the price in this instance. Conclusion: Kobachi Japanese Cuisine has a lot of potential with its beautiful presentation, flavorful dishes, and attentive service. However, my negative health experience has left me hesitant to recommend the restaurant fully. I hope my experience was an isolated incident, and I encourage the restaurant to ensure rigorous food safety measures are in place.
Very small place. Probably only 3 tables and a bar seating that looks out the window. Wasnt able to get a table the 1st time we went with a larger group so that was upsetting on my end. But went back the 2nd time at a earlier dining time and enjoyed it 100%. Food and service is 100%
Now I understand why people are saying that Kobachi is the best sushi restaurant in the Edmonton region… Ajeev has shared with me that I don’t bring him to enough sushi spots so I’ve been trying to change that lately. This gave us an opportunity to venture out to Sherwood park and finally try @kobachi_restaurant . We were both blown away by every single dish that was served to us - each one of them was an explosion of flavour and freshness. I actually loved seeing Ajeev’s facial expressions when he was trying all the dishes for the first time because he really seemed to love them and him enjoying food THIS much does not happen that often 🤣 I could not recommend this place enough. Please check it out as soon as you get a chance and show them your support as they truly deserve it. There are only 12 seats in the restaurant and they fill up so definitely make a reservation in advance. My top recommendations here would be their aburi salmon and ponzu tuna nigiri, shiitake mushrooms baked with miso, and the apple Fuji brulee 🤤 Hope you guys love it here as much as we did 🫶🏼
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Incredible experience and you can tell everything is FRESH, definitely best sushi we’ve had in Edmonton. Service was really good and love that each dish took a little bit of time to come out; they paced it really nicely overall. The specials were incredible, highly recommend to go here and try out several items.
Highly highly recommend checking this place out if you live in Greater Edmonton. The best nigiri we’ve tried so far in Edmonton. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is very small so definitely book your reservation before coming!
We are evacuees from Jasper who ran into the restaurant by a chance. We are glad to see you have supported for Jasper by anyway. Thank you so much! Also the food is excellent!! Rice of nigiri is perfect texture with the temperature. Not too hard, not too sticky. The fishes were also very fresh and tasty with little bit decorations which made it simple but delicious that you can know how hard they did. Definitely will come back again!
This place is phenomenal. Every time I’ve been my expectations are exceeded. The fish is fresh, flavourful, and so delicious. I truly have not had better sushi than this (not even in Vancouver). Service is very friendly and accommodating. 10/10 by a landslide! I’m so grateful this place exists.
We came here for our anniversary dinner, and Kobachi did not disappoint! The food and service were fantastic. The drive from Edmonton is absolutely worth it for the sushi here. The cuts of fish are excellent and prepared very well, and the fish selection is some of the best, most varied I’ve ever seen in and around Edmonton. Very attentive and personal service, all the staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s a tiny dining room, so I highly recommend making reservations. Definitely plan on returning!
Food was delicious!
Not the spot I d expect to get amazing Japanese food but definitely worth a visit. Recommend making a reso as the restaurant is very small. Service was great, food was great, can t fault anything here!
Amazing service. Very knowledgeable of sake and had great recommendations on both taste and price. The sushi was delicious and fresh. Strongly recommend a reservation for dinner. Love the duck udon and everything else! The Kobachi set it a great way to try some of their awesome appetizers.
Intimate setting, friendly staff and the best sushi in the Edmonton area. The wide array of delicious rotating specials never disappoint. I recommend the garlic and the miso tuna sushi, aburi salmon, nasu miso, hotate butter, Brussel sprouts, and sea biscuit. The yuzu-nade is fantastic too. Reservations are a must!
Kobachi delivered at every step of the way. Accommodated my gluten intolerance and were very diligent making sure I got food that was all safe for me . They also have an amazing gluten free karage ( fried chicken) which blows my expectations out of the water. I ll have to come back and try all the other options. The food all flowed out from the kitchen in a timely manner and at a pace appropriate to how we were eating which I always appreciate. Very attentive service , flavourful sushi and sashimi. Dessert was scrumptious, Definitely worth a drive out to Sherwood park. Dietary restrictions: Knowledgeable about gluten free options and requirements. Able to accommodate my wife s avocado allergy also.
Ron and his team always go above and beyond when it comes to service and quality of food. We had my best friend s birthday there and their communication was so fast and helpful. The fish is always soooo fresh and quality if their cooked food is consistent. Service is so friendly and attentive. The place is all window so it s so bright, and clean inside. If you re looking for high quality sushi it s here.
Delicious and well prepared authentic food. Best in city
Great food, cozy setting. If I could I would be here everyday. I am also celiac and need gluten free food, they are always happy to accommodate. Very grateful this family run restaurant is in my neighbourhood.
Incredible sushi. So fresh; a purists ideal meal. Kobachi salad was a delight; tuna seared beautifully, dressing perfectly balanced served on the side. Hamachi, miso tuna, king salmon, and scallop nigiri were the best Ive had anywhere. Service was so friendly. Will definitely return!
We had the chance to try the hotaru Ika and they were fantastic alongside the rest of the nigiri, buttery and with a refreshing and clean aftertaste! The duck udon was also great, the onsen egg adding richness to the broth. A personal favourite was the horse mackerel, fatty and delicious. The browned butter tamago was perfect; sweet and warm with that lovely nutty flavour from the butter! Kobachi is such a cute and homey location and every time Ive been there Ive had a wonderful experience!
Food was excellent! Top notch, authentic Japanese. Restaurant is quite small, only seating 8 people at tables and 4 on bar stools. However staff were very friendly and happy to explain dishes, specials etc. It is quite pricey but the quality of the ingredients is apparent. We had the Wagyu beef, shrimp and mayo rolls, baked salmon rolls, salmon and BBQ beef bowls. All were seasoned well and delicious!
Best place for sashimi and sushi. Cant go back to other places.
Food
Fresh fresh tasting fish! An amazing treat in landlocked Alberta. Enjoyed being helped and attended to by all the kind staff.
We go to Kobachi pretty regularly, and every time we come here it is a pleasure. Though the restaurant itself is small, its size makes it feel homey and comfortable. The owner has gone above and beyond for us many times, and because the restaurant is so small he is able to keep an eye out on his guests and make sure that everyone is having a great time. The food is delicious and made with incredible attention to detail. For being in Alberta, the seafood is fresh, deliciously fatty, and flavourful. The King Salmon is 100% worth the cost. Kobachi is a true gem in the heart of Sherwood Park.
I dont write reviews often but I will for Kobachi. This is by far the best sushi restaurant in Edmonton and its not even close. The fish here is ****ing phenomenal. The food is simple yet perfect. I will be visiting here often, once they open up their dine-in. 2024 update: I m still blown away every time I come here. One of the top sushi restaurants in North America in my books
One of the best Japanese restaurants in Alberta.
Food was amazing, staff was pleasant and quick and the restaurant was cozy
Exceeds expectations every single time! Best sushi in Edmonton by far. The staff are amazing and I always look forward to the next visit.
I really enjoyed it! Everything was fresh and the staff is awesome. I was craving some poke, Im glad I came here.
Had an impromptu lunch date and came here. It was delicious. Limited sitting with only 12 seats, but I think that was perfect because the food came out in a great timely manner. We ordered a bunch of specials, tuna sashimi and a couple rolls. The specials we got were sooooooo good. Flavour profiles were and the fish was soo good. Land-lock Alberta and can not say enough about how fresh everything tasted. Probably my favourite sushi in the Edmonton area now! Loved it better than Japonise Bistro which has been o w of our favourites.
The food was absolutely amazing and the lady that served us was super polite. The chef was also amazingly polite and humble
Been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally did, and to be honest the thing that kills all the dishes is the rice they use, its so separated and feels like rice you eat with a curry. Also they seem to put this oil in the California roll and on the king salmon sashimi I had, which was pretty unpleasant and took away from the clean taste it should have. Their produce like the salmon, sablefish, tuna were great, but, bogged down by the rice or this oil. Thought this would be a hidden gem, but unfortunately a pass for me.
Amazing & Authentic. Actual Japanese classy sushi. Was way beyond expectations. Outstanding fish, wide variety. Very friendly staff who obviously take great pride in what they do. Bonus: free parking in garage under the plaza.
I cant believe it took us so long to discover Kobachi in Sherwood Park! Wow. Just amazing. It was so good that while we were there, we made a reservation for next weekend as well! Kobachi really does specialize in showing the pure flavour of the fish, not covered up in any sweet sauces. Just the fish, sometimes with a sear. The small restaurant offers an intimate dining experience, with only a few tables and the bar. Reservations are highly recommended. The sake selection was small but well curated. The bottle of Toko Genshu paired very well with the meal, crisp and smooth. The kind salmon, scallop, and aji are a must, as well as toro, which was offered just off hand, which speaks to the freshness. The fiance ordered 3 bowls of chicken skins, and each one came out the exact same, consistently light and crunchy and not over seasoned. The egg was delightfully fluffy and sweet. My favourite bite was definitely the aburi scallop. This restaurant is a must to add to your list, worth the drive out to Sherwood Park!
Excellent as always. Very, very friendly. They actually messed up our reservation but went out of their way to get us seated quickly Dietary restrictions: Very accomodating
Tried out Kobachi a Japanese tapas/ restaurant in Sherwood park; I ve been wanting to try for years. Great place it s about the nuances here regarding the food: everything from their oolong black tea from Japan and their features- Aburi Hokkaido scallop sushi, sablefish Kama, stuffed shiitake and the miso grilled eggplant; the fried calamari as well as the beef tataki - everything was made to order and even their miso soup hit different. The sashimi was as advertised super fresh and delicious; Great meal; we ll be back. The seating is very limited so try to book ahead of time.
I don t understand how this restaurant is rated so high. With a price point 130 CAD for two people, the service is just poor. The waitress didn t even serve water until we asked. She also forgot my wife s order. The kimchi don is so salty (also two sushi) and we didn t even eat it. The sushi has really pool meat rice balance. It is so lost and falls apart with light touch. Very small and tight place. Surprisingly long waiting time when we were the only customers. Definitely below average. Highly not recommended.
Absolutely unreal cuisine and service. Come prepared for amazing Japanese pub food, sushi so good you don t usually see it this far from Vancouver, and service that is friendly and personal. Only a few seats so an intimate atmosphere.
I love Kobachi. This hole in the wall Izakaya prides itself on serving fresh and sustainable fish, but they should be priding themselves on providing one of the few true authentic Japanese dining experiences in the Edmonton area. I have ordered large portions to go, and I have dined in at the busiest points of dinner service. Regardless of the size of my party or bill, Ron and his passionate staff make me feel valued and welcome. Any time I have friends from Japan tell me Theres no good Japanese food in Edmonton! I tell them
Cozy and inviting, Kobachi is a great spot for a refined and inviting experience. Though small, the space is well thought out and decorated modernly. The atmosphere is relaxing, getting to watch the chefs work and the addition of piano music in the background gave a comforting vibe. The service was of standard, the head chef (Im guessing) was respectable and treated the food with care. I ordered a miso soup ($4) and a sushi combo ($18). The soup was lacking flavor but notably had tender carrots and onions. I wish I got those flavors a little bit more, it was extremely light but the added texture was a great add. The star was definitely the sushi combo. 6 different sushi, each with different flavors and textures, and each being delicious. Along with big portions of high quality, fresh ingredients, it is definitely a dish thatd keep me coming back for more. Highly recommend!
This place is really special, I only wish it was just slightly roomier. The menu is spectacular and has some very unique items you wont find anywhere else in town. The specials menu is really where its at and should be explored fully. The service is perfectly paced, friendly, and knowledgeable. Every single staff member is a professional and the pride in their work shows. Gochisousamadeshita!
Love this restaurant one of my favs! Their food is so authentic and the fish tastes fresh! The food is totally worth trying out!
Wife and I came here on a Saturday night and the food is absolutely amazing and delicious. I think this might be our favourite sushi spot. However, you will need to make a Reso because it is a super tiny space. But 1000% worth it. We will be back!
Hard to get a reso but very good, higher end of prices but the quality makes it worth it.
Best sushi place in the Edmonton area by far.
We came here on Valentine s day on short notice. The place has amazing food and service was just as good. We sampled a few dishes, the sushi is definitely very good compared to other places around the city. Only downside is that it is very small inside and I highly recommend making reservations if possible as when we went it was fully booked. The duck soup was one of the best soups I have ever had. For the quality of food the prices weren t terrible either. I will definitely be visiting here again! Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options for dietary restrictions Parking: There is street parking and it is free after regular business hours. Wheelchair accessibility: Its pretty flat for wheel chairs
Best sushi restaurant that I ve tried in Alberta. Quality, portions, and flavor are top notch. Service is excellent too! The features are awesome, and usually have items imported from Japan. King salmon and tuna belly are always a treat. Yuzu-nade is a must have drink. The restaurant is small, only about 14 seats, so make sure you make a reservation. I love coming here!
Delightful food, delightful people! I would happily eat anything they put in front of me.
Amazing place! If you want great Japanese with exceptional quality sushi here is your place!
delicious sushi, friendly staff, and friendly chef. i m highly satisfied :)
Excellent sushi, I especially enjoyed the oily fish like Agawa and Mackerel. My usual favourite is tuna and hamachi, but I actually found these to be slightly underwhelming. The pieces are all prepared beautifully and the fish was tasty, but I found the rice didnt have much flavour. Service is great, but since the room is so small, be prepared to share conversations with every other guest. Overall Id say its likely the best sushi Ive had in Edmonton in a couple years.
No words but definitely the best sushi restaurant in Edmonton!! This is from me and my friends who looove sushi!!! Thank you to their head chef who was giving us free sashimi slices!!! Prices are on the higher side but worth it. Be back with my husband soon!!
This place in the Park is truly special - I recently had one of the best pieces of salmon Ive ever tasted here. The love for great food is evident in every dish they serve..
Small but mighty. That s how I classify this gem of a restaurant! The sashimi bento was 10/10. I will definitely be going back to this spot.
It was our first time at the place, and we were excited as it had really good online reviews. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with most of the food we ordered. The dishes, especially the scallops hotate butter and the wagyu beef tataki sauce, were overly salty. The orange juice tasted just like Minute Maid orange juice. The rolls were the most disappointing; they were bland, dry, and tasted like grocery store bought with nothing special about them. While we applaud the great service we received, we cannot recommend the food.
Ron is an amazing chef, who creates thoughtful and creative art pieces that all taste amazing! We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. The small environment speaks to the personal touch that is shared with each guest who is lucky enough to dine at this hidden gem. The sake menu is full of so many tasty pleasures - I usually don t like sake, but I haven t had one here I wouldn t order again. The service is always pleasant and personal. The menu is always changing, which gives us even more reason to come back over and over again.
I always love coming to Kobachi. It s one of the best sushi places in the Edmonton area. It s highly recommended that you make a reservation as it s sits about 12 people. Service happens at a nice pace since it s prepared fresh to order. And the atmosphere is amazing with nice cafe music playing in the background. Everything on the menu is amazing, but highly recommend getting their nigiri or sashimi. The quality of the fish makes it seem like it came from the Ocean that morning. No slimy, fishy taste that you may get from other restaurants sashimi/nigiri. Could not recommend this place more, very cosy if you re planning to come here to celebrate an important event or occasion.
Kobachi is a far drive for us, but totally worth it for the food. Their sashimi and nigiri are slightly more on the pricey side depending on the cut of fish BUT youre paying for high quality fish. Absolutely love their tuna, scallop & sable-fish nigiri. Even their appetizers and maki rolls are yummy. They pay attention to presentation as well so your dish will come out beautifully. Highly recommend reserving a table if you plan to dine-in, both for afternoon and evening meal times since its a small place. Take-out is a great option for when its busy since they arrange the items neatly. Although our water was only refilled after we finished most of our food, it was fine since we were about to leave anyway. The owner is super kind and funny, his whole team are hard working people.
I love this place. Worth the drive. Chef respects the fish. No gimmicks. No pocky for the ladies. To me this is comfort food done exceptionally well. Menu is curated nicely. Service is fantastic. Ron is also handsome and loves dogs.
Easily the best sushi place in the Edmonton area! Ive been to Japan 4 times and I will pretty much only go to Kobachi now!
Friendly service and great sushi! A big thank you to the kind staff at Kobachi :)
It was my first time at Kobachi and hands down my favourite restaurant in Edmonton! Quality food with attention to detail. Exceptional customer service by the staff. Highly recommend everything on the menu and make sure to check out their specials. What an incredible experience and would definitely visit again. Thank you Kobachi for an incredible dining experience!
Best sushi in Edmonton. A small restaurant but high-quality food! Very satisfied every time I visit.
I love the food here. They care for every detail, and its always a pleasure to come here. I brought with me at my last visit my aunt and uncle that lived on the west coast for 15 years and they were amazed as well. Everything is really good, hard to point out a favorite dish!
Everything is great! So lucky that we have this place close home.
Kobachi is an amazing little gem in the heart of Sherwood Park! The food is expertly prepared by knowledge chefs who do there very best to keep the food authentic! Its small and that makes it so very special.
Very good fresh food. Service was delightful and helpful. Everything on the menu was yummm
This is my favorite restaurant in the world! I tried sushi for the first time here and was blown away - and came back the next day for more! The staff are awesome and the food is fantastic. :)
My honest score for our take out is 3.5/5. I think the food is best eaten in the restaurant. I m sure there s a reason it gets raving reviews online but I definitely wasn t that impressed for our take out. I felt the sashimis were thinner sliced and smaller than other Japanese restaurants we ve tried. It did taste fresh so that s good! I am definitely disappointed in the $19 bento box. Just expected more and better tasting than what I paid for. We do live close by so I will definitely give it another try dining in.
Such an amazing experience - the food was unreal. We tried the specials - the duck udon was unbelievable! We tried so much on the menu, and liked everything. Highly recommend! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Great little restaurant!
Big sushi and Japanese cuisine lover here. Kobachi isnt just another sushi place. The dishes are well thought out and perfectly executed. A small place for big appetites and even bigger flavours! The unique flavors of some of their signature dishes are really amazing. 10/10 would recommend! Dont miss out on this little corner of heaven!
Amazing Japanese Cuisine! The sushi is the highest quality!
Kobachi was an amazing dining experience all the way through. The quality of the fish is unmatched in the Edmonton area. Ron had a passion for the food he presented that elevated the dinner service. The hamachi and Engawa were on special when we went, and were amazing. I would recommend Kobachi to anyone looking for an elevated sushi experience. Parking: Parking in the parkade is 2 hours free.
A welcoming space with exceptional food that is served with care. Try all the specials.
Unbelievably delicious. Ive eaten sushi in many cities across Canada and this is the best Ive ever had. Shocked and delighted to find it in Sherwood park. Thank you!
I ve been about 4 times since they ve opened. So lovely to be able to rely on that quality of food consistently. Small but impactful and Sherwood park is so lucky to have them! Support the local!
The best and most fresh sushi I have had in the Edmonton and surrounding areas by FAR. This quaint, and delicious sushi restaurant has sashimi that just melts in your mouth. The staff are all very kind and friendly. I will be back again and again!
Heard about this establishment and had to make the drive to test it out, and they didnt disappoint! Its a small and cozy restaurant, so its recommended to make reservations ahead of time as seating is very limited. The staff was super welcoming and friendly, the food came out very quick, fresh and delicious! You pay for what you get, but it was worth every penny! Best sushi restaurant in Edmonton hands down.
Have ordered pickup from here several times now and each time it has been absolutely fantastic.
It doesn t get better than this. Kobachi is just like stepping into a Sushi-ya in Shinjuku. It rivals the best, anywhere in the the world. Hokkaido, Tokyo, NYC, LA, Vancouver, .. Sherwood Park. Yes! Sherwood park. Michelin star quality cuisine to the table & all at a price point in line with most sushi joints in the area. But this isn t just a sushi joint. They are in a league of their own. They could easily charge Las Vegas prices. You get more than your moneys worth here. Aside from amazing fish and perfectly cooked sushi rice, they have a large offering of hearty mains, proteins and sides that are all curated in a kitchen less than 100sqft. I would recommend a Reservation as the room fills fast. Also to be noted, they have a great selection of sake & Japanese beer. Kobachi is the definition of umami. 12/10 Parking: Underground parking.
Fresh food very delicious, small but very charming place.
Fabulous food! My son and his wife tell me what s good, I choose and then they order for me! Lol it s all worth a try and then prepare to love. Wonderful staff and owners. Great little restaurant!
The absolute best sushi in the Edmonton area! Quality was incredible and the attention to detail of the flavours and textures was impeccable. I can hardly wait to go back!
Without a doubt one of if not my favorite restaurant in the Edmonton area. I do not live close by any means but I have absolutely no problem making the trip. I highly recommend making a reservation and going to see for yourself. You will not be disappointed!
This is hands down the best place for Japanese cuisine in Sherwood Park and arguably all of the Edmonton area. The attention to detail and the flavours of each dish are truly phenomenal. Definitely reserve a table in advance - the restaurant itself is very small, but 100% worth the dining experience.
Great food. Excellent service. Authentic experience.
Excellent food and great service! The best sushi restaurant in the Edmonton area, and definitely worth the drive. We ve had both take-out and dine-in, and obviously dining in is the better option. Make sure to call ahead to make a reservation since it s a smaller but cozy spot, with limited seating. The quality of the food speaks for itself. Each bite is so delicious and authentic, they take great care to highlight the natural flavors of the fish. The seafood is fresh and their cooked food is full of umami. The sablefish is our favorite, but anything from their menu is a great choice! We like to finish our meal with the yuzu purin for a light and refreshing dessert. 10/10 Japanese cuisine and highly recommend to everyone! Parking: Free heated underground parking in the building, you just have to register your license plate first.
Favorite place for sushi/nigiri. Fish is high quality. Unique dishes. Absolutely delicious. (I am celiac with a dairy intolerance. Their house soy sauce is gluten-free therefore almost the entire menu is GF!) They were even able to accomodate for a GF/DF omakase style meal. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free
The Chirashi here is life affirming.
Its a super neat place to chill and grab some sushi. The food was quite good, minus the blackening of my salad leaves. I found it was quite expensive for the portions, but I only had one experience.
I personally believe Kobachi is the most fresh and authentic sushi experience you can find in Greater Edmonton area and definitely beats anything I have been to in the proper city. It is quality I think that rivals great places on the west coast, and that is a lot for Edmonton area sushi. You wont find fusion and sauced rolls and such you might find at other places, rather here it is more authentic and traditional takes. The portion size tends to be on the smaller end as well (and can be a bit pricey if looked at from a portion:price ratio), but that is well compensated for by the great quality of the fish I got here. Each bite is worth savouring. Pictured is the large Chirashi bowl which I enjoy ordering each time I am here. The place is tiny but cozy. Definitely recommend calling in advance for a table because seating is VERY limited. Overall it is of such quality that I am willing to make the trek out for again and again, and I hope that quality remains the same. Parking: Parking is limited to local street parking or parkade nearby. Come a bit earlier to sort that out.
Excellent food with a unique twist.
I heard about this place a long time ago but because I rarely find myself in Sherwood Park, visiting Kobachi has eluded me for years. Well, until today. The stars aligned and I was finally able to make a stop here. The owners are amazing, easy to talk to and you can tell they take great care when it comes to preparing every meal for their guests. The food is top notch and reminds me of authentic homestyle dishes prepared and plated with a 5 star touch. I also love how small and cozy the space is. Reminds of so many restaurants back in Japan. With that, definitely try to make a reservation if you can. I will definitely be back and its worth making a trip to Sherwood Park just for this experience.
Still amazed! The combinations of the citrus sauce and the fish are incredible with no complaint! 30 mins drive is always worth it.
We came 8 pm on a Friday night. Website says closing at 8:30 even door sign says 8:30 closing. we were told by the guy preparing food that they actually do last call. I suggest if you will not accept any customer change your closing time to what you desire. Supposed to be first time and for sure we are not coming back!
We had omakase as recommended by some friends and family (needs to be booked in advance). Ron was very accommodating to our preferences. Our highlights were the variations of tuna, mackerel, sable fish & aburi salmon. Very fun and special experience, everything was delicious! Highly recommended. We are also obsessed with their Apple crème brûlée. Thank you Ron :)
This place is always perfect. Selection of fish is vast, yet fresh and so tasty. We got the large chirashi bowl, sashimi bento, eggplant appetizer, ika(octopus) appetizer, deep fried chicken skin, aburi salmon, and engawa sushi. Highly recommend the engawa anytime they have it, because its melt in your mouth goodness. The mackerel is so yummy as well. Not fishy at all and great natural flavour. Will definitely be back.
Place is small. 3 tables and a bar table. Very cramped inside. Wife and I ordered 2 Maki rolls 5pc of salmon shashmi and some chicken and rice. Was not impressed. First off the chicken was super salty which is fine with the rice, but I had a hard time knowing which was the salmon or tuna Maki as the salmon was very pale with no color as you can see in the picture. Lastly we ordered the waygu tataki, although decent taste but it was definitely not waygu. I am super sensitive to the fishy taste and I did not taste it which was good, the lady that served us was also very pleasant which I can knock them on the service.
Authentic japanese unlike other japanese restaurants in alberta
What more can I say then chefs kiss, it hit that sushi spot hard
Best sushi restaurant in the Edmonton area. Ron is also an extremely personable sushi chef. Always worth the drive to go to Kobachi
Best sushi in Edmonton. Caring staff as well. Been going here for years now. Sad that Im leaving the city, which means leaving this amazing sushi mom and pop restaurant. Never once did they disappoint through the years. The engawa is always a highlight alongside their service. You can never go wrong with any of their bentos either.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. I was very impressed with our server, Anthony. He did a fantastic job explaining the menu and gave such positive energy
Everything was absolutely delicious! They accommodated a reservation and were incredibly friendly. Will definitely be going back :)
Ok so I havent written a review in years, but I had to review this place immediately, it really was that impressive. I have driven past many times and never really noticed this place as it is super tiny and tucked away but it caught my eye today so we decided to give it a try for lunch. They focus on unprocessed and sustainable food and the price is so incredibly reasonable too, cheaper in fact than many sushi restaurants in Edmonton. No food is demonized here, there is no sacrifice of delicious food here for sustainability as in many restaurants. It is clear that unprocessed does not equate to restricted eating, you can still get delicious drinks and the crispiest fried chicken I have ever had. Everything was fresh, the fish was the best I have ever eaten (and I am from England, where we have pretty awesome fish if nothing else). Sure it is a tiny restaurant so you will want to book at busy times but this isnt a negative in my opinion. We are all so used to rushed, mass prepared meals that can be cranked out to massive restaurants super fast, but because of the small size here, each dish is prepared carefully and perfectly, it is worth having to plan your visit. Also our server was awesome, everything was explained perfectly and she was attentive but not overbearing. All round wonderful experience.
Simple food done well is the perfect way to describe this absolute gem of a restaurant. The space is very cozy but inviting, and matches the food perfectly. Theres no excess here, only what is needed. Chef Ron is showing that very basic ingredients combined intelligently and cooked perfectly is all you need. Easily in the race for the best Japanese/sushi food available in the Edmonton area. Cant wait to return! Dietary restrictions: Amazing for gluten-free options
Fantastic dessert, and the poke bowls were delicious
Great flavours and service from an authentic Japanese small restaurant.
My girlfriend and I come to kobachi once in a while as we live in the west side, but trust me it s always worth the drive All dishes are prepared in the best way possible! Staff is always on time and very respectful! I always book in advance due to limited seating and they re always so busy! Try it out! You wouldn t regret your choice
The chef/owner Ron is humble, caring and highly attentive to detail. His character translates to his food, where he enhances the natural flavours while also having the restraint to not bury the food in sauce or spectacle. He hosted our company Christmas party, and was very involved in the planning leading up to the event. Communication was clear and frequent, and he delivered on all aspects that we discussed. All in all, a great meal by a great chef.
Every dish is just perfect. Friendly staff. Overall excellent experience every time.
We ordered the duck udon, sushi combo, and the sashimi bento. The duck udon is fantastic, tender duck pieces with a rich tasty broth. The fish was very fresh for our sushi and sashimi with great flavour and preparation. The one thing that was disappointing was that our rice that came with the sushi and bento was not sushi rice. Didnt have the slightly sour/sweet flavour of the vinegar at all. We thought initially this was just the way the restaurant does their rice so we didnt say anything but spoke with some friends afterwards who have been there and they said they definitely had sushi rice so were a bit disappointed by that. So it seems like an anomaly but it took away from the experience for sure.
Nice little lovely place. Food is good and the service is average. Food is a bit slow but better than the Edmonton average. Fish is pretty fresh but there are better places like Japonais bistro and Damso. Price is decent.
Extremely disappointed with what would have been our first experience with this place. We came in at 5:12pm and placed our order. While we ordered, a family came in and sat down. We were told it would take some time and that they could call us when it is ready. 5:30pm rolls around and we get a call. They tell us that they can t complete our order until 6:45pm because of a reserved table that arrived early. We placed our order before them and now we have to wait nearly one and a half hours for our food. We also drove 30 minutes to Sherwood Park just to visit their restaurant. Poor service. While they said a few items would be ready for us, we felt shunned because a family who they seemed to know came in while we were ordering and therefore couldn t make our food in a timely manner because they had to make theirs first. Sure we could ve just picked up what they had available, but it comes down to principal. Don t take our order, and midway call us and tell us it ll be an extra hour before it ll be ready because a table came in earlier than expected. As customers, that made us feel unimportant and that our time didn t matter. To add, there was nobody in the restaurant when we walked in either. Just so disappointed 1/16/2022
We drove 30 min to this location for them to tell us that they were only taking reservations and could not serve us due to short staff. There were 3 people in the kitchen and 1 waiter. Also there were only 2 customers in the restaurant. The waiter told us they cannot us serve us and to come back another day. Id rather take my business elsewhere. I would give this a place 0 stars if I could.
Amazing. unique variety of sushi and flavours.
Oh man! Everything on their menu is delicious, especially their yuzu pudding! The owner is super nice and his memory is impressive. He ll remember nearly everything about you and what you like and eager for your input to improve (even if there was no room for improvement anymore, cause top notch.) See you again soon Kobachi!
Amazing experience! Its a small place so I would recommend calling in advance to reserve a seat. The hype for this place is definitely warranted, the taste is close if not on par with sushi in Japan. You can tell they put a lot of care and attention to detail for each dish served. They even timed serving each dish perfectly. Im already drooling at the thought of coming back here again one day!
Excellent food, great owners! Love to go get my sushi craves here
Sushi was great and fairly priced. I will go back!
Amazing food, would highly suggest!
Arguably the best Japanese cuisine in the Edmonton area.
Worlds most perfect sushi, so fresh, staff are welcoming, I absolutely will not go anywhere else in town for sushi as long as Kobachi is here.
A really small and cute place. Very delicious Japanese food and a great place for date night. I loved the eggplant (nasu miso) more than I expected! Will be back!
We were not impressed with this restaurant. It is tiny and we felt stressed out with the much higher noise levels and being crammed in. The sushi was okay at best. We don t like room temperature sushi. It makes the sushi seem mushy and not fresh. The tuna was very bland and the tuna maki roll had a strange chemical-like aftertaste that freaked us out. We also disliked their menu and their order system using a fat dry-erase felt on a laminated order sheet. We felt awkward and invaded when the server gave us her over-the-top review of the specials. We came to have a quiet and comfortable lunch but instead we could not wait to leave. We will continue to drive to the city to Mikado which is very good.
Best Sushi in the Edmonton area by far! Ive been to Kobachi 3 times now and the food has always been delicious. The head chef/owner always tries to drop by at least once to see how your meal is going. All of Kobachis nigiri are exquisite and I highly recommend the scallop, squid, and aburi salmon. Please take note that their rotating weekly specials are always worth trying. Ill be a customer for a long time to come, thank you!
Excellent Japanese cuisine. If you long for authentic high quality Japanese food look no further. This small restaurant treats the food and customers with care and attention. I had sashimi, scallops from Hokkaido, salmon from New Zealand and excellent tuna, it was delicious and healthy. Another person had a beef noodle soup with a hint of spice which tasted like Japan. Another person had chicken teriyaki which again could have pictured us in Tokyo. We had two delightful deserts, a creme brule with apple ensemble which was equisite and a light lemon custard, so refreshing. Stop wondering where to find the best Japanese food and come here.
Wonderful service, wonderful food. We came in with a bit of a timeline but honestly once we started eating, that timeline could wait. I love sashimi. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, and the pairings of condiments are friendly but delightful. Chef came to deliver one of the dishes as well. Ordered: sashimi - squid, scallop, aburi salmon, tuna, (and one more type of fish I forget the name of). Nigiri - toro, mackerel, white shrimp, engawa. Maki - California, plum. All of them were a hit. I already started recommending before I left the place. Kobachi is going to be my new favourite place to eat!
Overall, it was amazing. Definitely recommend this place and we will be going back again soon!
Wonderful food and staff. Unique selection of sushi, drinks, and other wonderful foods. The staff are above and beyond in explaining every item of the menu along with pairings. The chef actively inquires feedback. There is no denying it they love what they do and love sharing their exquisite foods and drinks. I am at a loss for words.
Hands down the best Sushi in Edmonton. If you wish for anything better, better make it a trip to Vancouver!
Went there couple times. Food are good and but the freshness is not consistent. Overall, I will still recommend! PS : The scallops is one of my favourite!
Kobachi is honestly the best sushi experiences I have had in the greater Edmonton area. They serve more traditional non westernized sushi and let the quality of the fish shine through. The miso tuna was absolutely fantastic as well as thier tamago. The service was excellent and I was frequently checked on the entire time. The restaurant itself is small but inviting, I went during a quite time after the lunch rush but I would highly recommend making a reservation. Parking is a bit of a hassle in this area but it is well worth it. Again this is easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in the greater Edmonton area, beating out the big names like Japanios Bistro and Mikado easily. I would recommended this restaurant to anybody that loves sushi.
Sushi combo is just the best. Their fish tastes so fresh it gets me addicted. Ikura(salmon roe) is also good, you dont get the fishy taste. Really love the aburu salmon sashimi too. Most places you can feel cold salmon sashimi, thats been defrosted but still tastes good. Here it feels like they prep a live fish for the day. Only downside is really the small place and limited seating. Also doesnt feel that comfortable. Luckily theres takeout Still my favourite place for fish.
Best Japanese cuisine in Edmonton/Sherwood Park.
I love this place!
Our meal was fantastic!
Would highly recommend! High quality ingredients and very fresh fish. Great service and the prices are fair. I will definitely return.
Ron is a man who knows very well the craft of sushi. Hotate scallops, and aburi mackerel are one of the best I ve had. I ve been to numerous sushi restaurants (Tokyo, Vancouver, San Francisco, Toronto, etc.), Kobachi is one of the memorables.
Excellent food! Absolutely enjoyed our meal in this cozy establishment. Amazing service, very kind staff, but the food!!! Delicious and fresh! Agedashi mochi, maki rolls and the chicken dish were top-notch! A must try restaurant!
Fresh fish always, dishes made with care and detail, and reasonable prices for high quality ingredients. Owner is friendly (though sassy haha). Small space so be sure to make a reservation or call ahead for takeout! I always order the nigiri here. Basic items done well is the best!
Well I have to say I was super impressed with the sushi. I was recommended to this place by my sister and I read the reviews before going. The place is really small and can only sit about 12 people maximum. So if you plan to go there and eat you d better get a reservation. The food itself was wonderful and the waitress was very excellent. The reason I cannot give this place 5 stars is because of two things. First of all, the set up is really not good. You feel cramped and every time someone goes to the washroom you get disturbed. The layout is really tight and there really is no ambiance. Secondly, the menu is too limited to me as I was expecting all the main stays of a sushi restaurant. What I want to say is that I found the place to be a little confusing. The food and service is top notch but the atmosphere doesn t match it. It s like eating fine dining from a fast food joint. Definitely go if you want great food (sushi was really amazing) and good service. But if you want to have comfortable conversation or it is a special occasion or date night, probably not the right place. Maybe this is what the owners were shooting for. If these guys had a better set up in terms of seating and lighting, I don t think there could be a better place. The limited menu is also okay since they seem like specialist who don t want to just give the standard food. Okay, after reading the response from the owners I changed my rating to a 5. The exceptional quality of food trumps everything. I have to go back and experience it again in the future.
The dine in area is very limited, but its cozy and clean. All the seafood dishes were fresh and rich. my friend ordered deep-fried chicken bento, it was very crispy and tasty. highly recommend this place.
I always come here when I visit Edmonton. Exemplary high quality sushi.
Exceptional, Delightful Japanese dishes created by the owner Ron. His passion for cooking is reflected in each dishes. Depth of flavor, delicacy...makes me want to take time thinking about Japan and enjoy every single bite gently. Not only satisfy your stomach but also satisfy your eyes and your heart. Home away home. MUST TRY ; Maze Men, Chirashi, Zangi chicken, Weekly Special, Yuzu Highball...can not decide :)
Amazing food and cozy place
This is my all-time favorite sushi place. The bf and I always make it a point to come here at least once or twice while Im in Canada, and I think weve made it obvious that scallop and squid are our favorite things on the menu. Weve had a good mix of the sushi and nigiri as well as the appetizers, and I will say everything is always delicious, fresh, and made for you pretty much on the spot. Also always work checking their Instagram to get a glimpse of whats coming! Food aside, everyone here is always so welcoming and friendly, and I love the cozy little space because its not a stuffy vibe, its not darkly lit to the point where you cant see your own food... You just feel so at home when youre there eating. If youre a group of people though, probably safer to get a reservation just in case. Weve had no issues with making reservations in the past they definitely dont bite. The friendliness extends to their email, phone, and even social media. Lastly, I personally love the agedashi mochi and the lemon purin to bits and pieces so if you ever see them on the menu, theyre worth checking out!! Ive spent so much time gushing about this place but maybe the photos will also give you the extra motivation to check this gem of a restaurant out when youre in the area. I look forward to coming back again (and again...!)
Not only is this best place to get Japanese food in Sherwood Park, but you d be hard pressed to find a better place in the entire Edmonton area. They have a diverse array of options and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Kobachi is low key and super original, located in a tiny nook that is cozy and easily accessible. If you need recommendations, the staff are happy to provide their recommendations. They are also always having specials and unique additions to the menu, with the Chef s unique take on traditional Japanese dishes! I can t speak highly enough of Kobachi, it s owner, and it s staff.
I try to come and eat here once a week because that s how amazing the food is! I ve introduced so many people to this restaurant as well. The fish is always so fresh and full of flavour. Everything they do has attention to detail and it s just an overall 10/10 dining or take out experience.
What incredible and unique Japanese dishes here!!! I will definitely return
My son and I wanted to try out this new place and it sure didn t disappoint. Very fresh and high quality seafood. Presentation is elegant. No fishy smell and literally melts in your mouth. We ordered a few different maki rolls, sashimi sanshu 9 piece, Shake Ikura Oyako Don bowl that my son ordered, and miso soup. Everything tasted so clean and fresh. This is by far the best sushi place in Edmonton and surrounding area. It s now our go to for sushi. Here are a few more pictures of dishes we have ordered. My only complaint is the washroom is a bit dirty especially for a new place. Btw their soy sauce is incredible!
Ill start out by saying, the restaurant was nice and clean and the service was friendly. I had some rolls and was very disappointed. Didnt like the taste at all and had to douse them in soy sauce just to get them down. Dont want to write a bad review because they were all friendly but the food was not good in my opinion.
Update: September 2022 - PSA: PLEASE MAKE A RESERVATION IF YOU PLAN ON DINING HERE! Tiny Kitchen + Incredible Food = High Demand! Update: June 2022 - Still our favourite restaurant in the YEG area!! <3 If you still havent been, dont sleep on it! Youre missing out!!! Original: Kobachi must be the best Japanese restaurant in the Edmonton area. Its certainly the best Japanese food experience that my wife and I have had outside of Japan. The price is comparable to some other higher end Japanese/sushi restaurants in the area, however when it comes to quality... it cannot be beat. Their menu has enough variety that theres at least a few items that anyone would enjoy, while also offering a couple of more interesting Japanese dishes such as hotate butter. If you want authentic Japanese then look no further! The atmosphere is very clean and comfortable, despite being such a small space. Its great being able to see the staff working behind the bar! The service is fantastic all round and pleasant to interact with. You will definitely feel welcome here! Thanks Kobachi! Youre definitely at the top of our favorite restaurants list! :)
Great food (fresh and seasoned perfectly), great service and the chef was very nice. The place is small so please book a reservation. I like how kobachi always changes up their feature menu with different, flavorable Japanese dishes. We really enjoyed our meal here! Will definitely be coming back again.
Very small place, excellent quality.
Fish was very fresh and each dish was excellently prepared. Best sushi/sashimi Ive had in the Edmonton and surrounding area! Try their mackerel, tuna miso, and yuzu sushi options.
Always amazing, and owners are fantastic!
This restaurant has been a favourite of mine since they opened a few years ago. It is the best sushi quality you can find in the surrounding Edmonton area. They have special fish you cannot find anywhere else in the city. Don t expect any fancy rolls, just pure focus on the fish and fresh ingredients. Patience is required as they are a small mom and pop shop and they are meticulous in their preparation. Call to order well in advance and book a reservation!!
I can see why you need to call ahead to make sure they have what you want because its so good and fresh they sell out quick. Its great Japanese cuisine. Food
One of the best restaurants in Sherwood Park, definitely order the Kazoku Bento if youre hungry and looking for a great variety of delicious foods!
Not only are their food delicious, their customer service is over the top. We had ordered takeout and half of the duck udon soup ended up spilling into our passenger seat. We called to let them know and they apologized. They asked me to send an email to let them know how much cleaning cost would be. I had forgotten to send this email but they ended up calling me to follow up after a week. I was so impressed that they actually followed up. I told them not to worry about the cleaning cost and I would be happy with just a refund on the duck udon. They not only refunded me but they went above and beyond and sent me a gift card.
Amazing Experience, the staff were extremely accommodating and gave us awesome customer service. It was my first time coming to the restaurant. Despite the restaurant being quite busy and they were unable to seat us at the time, the offered us take out and went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. The food was incredible!!
Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Edmonton (even though its technically in Sherwood Park). Definitely worth the trek out to SP if you live in Edmonton! Ive ordered take out multiple times from Kobachi and finally had the pleasure of dining in with my family yesterday. Im originally from Vancouver and sorely miss the easy access to fresh, raw fish. This place definitely hits the spot. The service is superb, friendly and attentive. The food is A+ every time. The menu is innovative - with rotating specials - but still has standard nigiri and maki. Everything tastes super fresh which is even more impressive considered we live in a landlocked province. Must tries: engawa, tatsuta age, sushi combo, tamago, and yuzu purin Absolutely unparalleled. Will be back again and again. Thanks Kobachi! Parking: Free parking on the street after 1700hr Kid-friendliness: They dont have high chairs but they do have a booster seat
Small sushi place so either call ahead or be prepared to wait. Again because of the small space this is not the place for bigger parties. So if you have a stroller, walker, use a wheelchair its a very tight fit. Went for lunch, wasn t too bad of a wait but be mindful of it. Parking can also be an issue as well. Me and my friend ventured to Sherwood Park and i would say it was worth the drive definitely one of the best in Sherwood Park. The portions are acceptable and so are the prices. Would recommend to anyone going to Sherwood Park.
Absolutely stunning flavors. Unreal!
Chirachi Bowl was excellent! Duck Udon was very tasty but I personally found the duck meat slightly overcooked. Service is fabulous and everything is super fresh. Definitely worth the drive from Edmonton.
Very high quality, super delicious, yuzu pudding was incredible!
Visited this restaurant today for a staff lunch and I was very impressed! Very cosy restaurant, it only seats about 10-12 people so very cosy setting. The food was delicious and service was good! Highly recommend
Absolutely phenomenal. Attention to detail is apparent throughout every aspect of dining here. If you opt to find in sitting at the bar is a treat as you watch all the meals for the restaurant prepared in this small space. Would recommend and will return.
Sushi was excellent. Fish was fresh, and chef took great care in preparing the food. This restaurant is definitely for those who enjoy high quality sushi.
Cant wait to come back, sashimi was so good.
The BEST Japanese restaurant in town. Authentic japanese food prepared by awesome people! Sushi was soooooo fresh and delicious. I enjoyed their food so much and the service was so pleasant . I will be visiting here again and again. Small place , so you need to book ahead.
Friendly personable service, well presented and fresh dishes. Come earlier in the day, as they do tend to run out of their specials. And then it might never be on the menu again...
I mean no disrespect here - I came on a Thursday, which open sign says 4:00pm. No one attended to unlock the door until workers were coming through 4:10+. We were then told that they were unable to take orders until 4:30 because they were prepping. Instantly my thoughts were, shouldnt you prep before you open? We were then given a menu and was then told that our take out orders (15pc of sushi) would take approximately 30 mins. We then proceeded to walk around the small complex which was very beautiful and then came back at 5pm. We then had to go inside to the store and ask about our order, and our new pick up time was 7:30. At this rate we traveled from another city and we had other plans for dinner time. If the communication was better and told it would of been 7:30 from the get go we would of saved so much time trying out a different local restaurant. The photos and food of this place looks very good and I dont mean to put a one star here but the service and how they dealt with us was what caused this rating to drop for my experience. Im sure everyone needs to call in and make reso or pre order in advance in the future. But just a heads up.
I had the Teriyaki Chicken bento box with rice and salad. The flavor was really good and fresh. However, the portion was definitely small for $18, especially since other local restaurants are offering bento boxes with both teriyaki and sushi/tempura for less than that. The service was very friendly and made the experience worthwhile. Overall, I recommend this restaurant but if you have a large appetite, there may be better options.
For a restaurant in a land bound city Kobachi has astonishingly fresh fish! Definitely the highest quality in the city, if it wasnt on Sherwood Park wed be here every week! The sablefish, aburi salmon melt in your mouth and Im probably going to dream about them tonight. They are a tiny place so make resos. Take out can take a while but so worth it.
Incredible quality. I m not sure where this fish is sourced from, but it is the best quality in Edmonton area
Very consist and great weekly specials!
Best sushi I ve had in Edmonton area. Sable fish is 10/10
Top top quality plus wonderful music selection! They play Bossa Nova (Brazilian jazzy pop).
Delicious Japanese food in a cool tiny spot. Prices arent cheap, but arent outrageous either. Note: very few North American style sushi rolls on the menu.
Food was very good, service polite, its pricy but worth the visit.
This place has the absolute best sashimi in alberta, has topped japonais bistro for sushi, and is high quality comparable to vancouver. Well done. Beef tataki way too salty and not enough sauce.
There are only 2 tables here...and theyre always reserved. Given up trying to eat here.
Fantastic food and staff!! Truly love this place and one of the best menus in the city.
The best Japanese restaurant in the Edmonton area! Their food is very authentic. Especially their sashimi and sushi are fresh! We would like to visit again soon :)
Excellent Japanese cuisine in Sherwood Park. My wifes from Japan and Its her favorite, so that says a lot. I myself have never been too big on sushi, but Kobachi ... Its just too good! I prefer to keep it a secret as much as possible since theyre usually too busy to order from, but I have to give praise where praise is due.
Amazing amazing!! I was so happy we went to Kobachi for my wifes birthday. My wife is Japanese and she said that the dishes were the closest if not identical to what she would have in japan. The main owner Ron is Japanese and speaks japanese if you would like to practice your japanese. He is also the head cook and it shows in the quality of the rice and the dishes themselves. Absolutely fantastic!
Best fish I think I ve had, ever! Each bite was perfect and I can t wait to come back. Pictured are the Sable, White Shrimp Mayo, Engawa and King Salmon sushi. Next photo is Aburi Salmon and Cured Mackerel.
Incredible food. The food is authentic sushi and the best I have ever had. I have been told the owners are Japanese and trained as proper sushi chefs. It shows! The only place I have seen that actually serves true Wasabi. I would come back here any time as it is just that good!
Great atmosphere and friendly host/server! The restaurant is small and seats approximately 10-15 people! There s no doubt that it is one of the best sushi in Edmonton surrounding. Everything tasted fresh and I love the attention to all the little details! Most definitely give it a try! Make sure to call for reservations and there are plenty of parking nearby! Worth every dollar!
Its very delicious. And its not expensive. I want to eat it every day.
We have tried many kind of sashimi.- scallop, tuna toro, salmon, mackerel (Japan, Spanish), tuna (miso, garlic), egg tofu, combo appetizers and also beef tartaki. All were so fresh & tasty. The place was tidy & a little small, but the service was wonderful. Book your table early.
Excellent service!! Great food! Will be returning soon!!
