2 Athabascan Ave #8, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 4E3, Canada
Authentic Mexican cuisine
Me and my family enjoyed the meal here . The food was delicious, and tender meats. The only downside was our server put onions for my wife when she asked for no onions. Very minor inconvenience and we totally understand as they are busy. However the entire meal was of good quality, fresh ingredients and decent portions. I found the price fair enough. Nice atmosphere and decor. 8.3/10
My wife & I discovered this cute little Mexican restaurant in the industrial side of Sherwood Park nearest Baseline Road back in September 2024. We really enjoyed ourselves from the moment of arrival. They took us in with no reservations. Good thing it was early enough for this. Really enjoyed all the wall art and the exposed kitchen. Our server was really friendly and walked us through the menu. She suggested the Sangria to start which we ordered. One of the best we’ve had in the city. Our food was incredible, and full of flavors. The sides were on the small side. Having run a kitchen many years ago. I know the cost of making rice n bean dishes, and it’s a very minimal food cost. The owners should reconsider talking to the chef regarding side portion sizes. We ordered extra sides which were still small at full price. Don’t be cheap! That was my only complaint. Everything was amazing and flavorful. Done remember the names of all the dishes so my pics will need to do. 5 stars if portion sides were a little more generous.
Tatiana our server was amazing, friendly and extremely attentive. She made our son's 17th birthday amazing before going back to Calgary. Food was delicious, authentic and loved the presentation. Best Mexican food in Alberta for sure! You will not be disappointed as we even made room for dessert. Tres leches was not too sweet and perfect for me. My son ordered churros and he loved how it was made in house with a soft texture.
Destination birthday dinner did not let us down. Food and drinks were absolutly delishious. It's too bad we didn't phone ahead for a reservation which would have been smarter. Dinner felt a bit rushed at a 'borrowed' table. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation, it's not the biggest dining room and the patio can be weather dependent.
La Patrona offers exceptional service and serves some of the best tacos I've had in the Edmonton area. Each dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing the authenticity and care put into their food. The friendly and attentive staff made the experience even better, ensuring a memorable visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more.
Will absolutely go here for the food again! The Al Pastor was so flavourful! It was my favourite. The tres lechè put me in a food coma. The food was very filling, made us very happy. If there’s one thing that would have made my birthday dinner perfect is the service. It was quick, efficient and polite but just lacked the warmth (I cannot think of another word). It’s very in-eat-out. I loved the vibe of the restaurant and would definitely come here again.
Of all the Mexican food I have tried (take this with a grain of salt as I’ve never been to Mexico) this is by far the best. Each dish provides an amazing experience, clearly lots of effort and card has been placed into the creation of each. I recommend the Cochinita Torta and Jalapeño Chocolate Cake. The Torta was the perfect size to enjoy it to the fullest, an amazing dish to any metric and the Cake was the perfect mix of flavours. I was sceptical of Chocolate and Jalapeño but they complimented each other surprisingly well. The service was great, our food did not take long and you could tell it was clearly freshly made. The waitress was helpful and ensured we had help with whatever we needed. Overall a high recommendation if you ever find yourself in Edmonton.
La Patrona in Sherwood Park is a delightful little gem! The restaurant has a cozy feel with an impeccably clean kitchen. Their cocktails, especially the margaritas, are top-notch. Both the chicken and beef tacos were bursting with flavor. The service staff was excellent – attentive and friendly. Given how busy they were on a Sunday at lunchtime, definitely make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Highly recommend giving La Patrona a try!
Great spot, I d definitely go back!
This was the WORST restaurant I ve been to. The service is terrible. Takes 15 mins to get drinks. The appetizer came out FIRST before the drinks. The food tastes oily and like a d-list restaurant. The server was very impersonal and didn t explain the menu. The food is sub par. Would never visit here again.
It is a good restaurant, but lately we go there and they never have spots available for walk- ins. Which is very inconvenient. We used to go there often and we didn t have that problem they just asked us to wait because it was first come first serve basis.
La Patrona serves up delicious, authentic Mexican food with great flavors and generous portions. The tacos are fantastic, and the salsa adds the perfect kick! The ambiance is casual and welcoming, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The only thing I d suggest is a bit more variety in the menu. Overall, it is a solid choice for anyone craving tasty Mexican food!
Great food... But seriously, you cant provide Cutlery and napkins for takeout? That doesnt even make sense. At the very least, it could be on hand and offered if customers need it. I could get better service at a fast food drive-thru. Update: Thank you for your response but that wasnt my experience at all. The girl at the front very clearly and repeatedly said they ran out of cutlery awhile ago and never restocked so they dont give out Cutlery anymore. Followed up by a few sorrys at my look of confusion and annoyance. I even asked how I was supposed to eat my food, to which she kind of just shrugged. Its not a big deal if its a one-off and ran out unexpectedly, but she seemed pretty sure it was an ongoing and usual occurrence, and that they regularly refuse cutlery to customers as I very clearly asked for it.
second time visiting, very good quality, service and atmosphere.I will return.
Great food Great Service Great Atmosphere Food : 4/5
This has to be the best Mexican food Ive every had! Julianna was a fabulous server. We will definitely come back when we come back to town!
Great food
Excellent service
I might come back again but Im not totally sure. Mom and I got the big plate of nachos and 2 drinks and that totaled to $55, not including tip. I think there might have been a charging error but Im not sure. The nachos themselves were very disappointing. They were built very strange, hardly had any toppings, and there was way too much of what I think was refried beans. It was kind of disgusting actually. I dont think this is the quality of the food they usually serve, according to other reviews so Im not sure why our nachos werent good. The service was very friendly and quick, and it was a nice cozy place. Just sucks that our nachos werent good.
Free dessert on your birthday. Everything was excellent
Great food!
No halal options
The owner, the food is delicious, the food was a little expensive but I decided to give them 5 for the food and the service.
Check this one out. This place is a hidden gem with great atmosphere and delicious food. The staff was friendly and accommodating and they had some great hot salsa.
Great tacos, nachos & Horchata.
Fabulous place. Some of the best tortilla soup Ive ever had, and top notch tacos! It is clear the food is made with great care and great skill. Service was excellent. Dietary restrictions: Server noticed we ordered veggie tacos and made sure to let us know the tortilla soup was not vegetarian, just in case we were. Really appreciated her consideration for possible dietary restrictions.
Great place i can say one of the best Spanish place Ive tried. Overall fair price, food quality, taste, amount of food you get, and service its top notch, the only thing before you head over there I recommend you to make a call or reservation before cause the place its small, unless its not to busy they will serve you.
Objectively the best Mexican restaurant in Western Canada.
First time going here, and the food is unbelievable. Its such a nice little place. Cant say enough good things, my wife and I loved it and we will be back many more times. Thanks!
By far best Mexican food Ive ever had. And the atmosphere and service was amazing! My new favorite place.
Absolutely amazing food. One of the best Mexican spots Ive been to so far. The service was also really good!!
Wonderful Staff, fabulous food, delicious beverages & atmosphere is a fabulous reminder of Mexico. Totally worth 5 Stars
Nice place to eat and have some drinks, good blend of food.
Great little authentic Mexican restaurant. And who would have thought in Sherwood Park. Its definitely worth the drive from Edmonton.
We had an amazing birthday dinner here! The cocktails were phenomenal. My boyfriend got a mezcal spicy Rico and I don t think I ve ever seen him love a drink so much! The barbacoa and fish tacos were amazing and will be coming back for them! The only thing we were not as big of a fan was the queso. The consistency was like a mozzarella stick and wasn t our favorite. Everything else was great! Definitely recommend making a reso it was busy!
Everything on the menu is amazing
Great food!
Never disappointed with the food here.
The food and drinks are so good and the staff are friendly. Ps. You need to try there piña colada Food
The prices are somewhat high compared to the portions served, margaritas are not their strong suit
Legit, authentic experience for Mexican food. The tacos, tortas & dessert are all delicious & the service is great. Worth the trip to Sherwood Park
Delicious food and excellent service
The barbacoa tacos and flautas were our favorites, but everything we tried was exquisite
Impeccably delicious and a perfect first date! Thank you!!
Id rather eat a mustard covered piece of cardboard than eat here again
My friends and I wanted to try out some Mexican cuisine, and we decided to go here. I will say that you must reserve a table if you have any hope of getting in. We arrived about 20 minutes early, and saw at least three groups get turned away. Once we were seated, I looked around and found the decor was modern with a splash of Mexican art and style. It was smaller then I pictured, but was well laid out and had a great atmosphere. We ordered the Nachos with guacamole, the beef Hambre, and the Pollo tacos. I must say, I want to go back, just to have more nachos. The tacos where just as good, but the nachos stood out to me for how much better they are then most others. I definitely recommend dining here.
Second time coming here and both times were awesome. Ordered the daiquiri and el Patrona tacos and the dorados as the appy. We left full and happy. Very cool decor
No good , the Suadero tacos , the meat was so so dry with no taste , and the rice was terrible , and the al pastor tacos were so so so salty i recommend to get that better!
Havent had such amazing service from a restaurant in a long time. They were patient with our loud group of kids and brought things over before we even needed to ask. And the food was delicious!
Fantastic food, great ambiance and service. Very enjoyable. Loved the queso! Tons of gluten free options with dedicated fryer. Dietary restrictions: Dedicated fryer for gluten free.
The food and atmosphere were great, but the service was lacking. I am unsure if they were understaffed or if they usually only operate with one server, but we were there for nearly an hour before our food came.
First time here and we will definitely be back. Super tasty food and great service!
I ordered the Al Pastor tacos. They were plated beautifully but I honestly felt like they tasted a little dry. I could barely taste the pineapple on them. The spices on the pork were good though. The restaurant was quite busy on a Sunday evening (photo after most people left), but we had a reservation. Free parking.
Amazing
Excellent food, excellent service and the best is if you take someone on their birthday!
Always a great experience with great food and drinks!
Totally obsessed with this place. Felt like I was back in Mexico. Our server Tatiana was just the sweetest person ever, absolutely amazing. Highly recommend going here!!
Food was great, not too busy for lunch and in a great location.
Delicious food!!!
Food was amazing! They have tasty vegetarian options! And the host was also amazing!! Tacos are must try!! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Tacos and Vegetarian ap
The food was amazing and tasty. Our waitress was attentive and welcoming. The only downside was being told our reservation was up and we had to vacate our table - we did not know about this prior to making the reservation. All in all I would return for the excellent food and service.
Best Mexican food in Alberta. Service can be hit or miss but the food makes up for it.
We went to La Patrona last night for the first time after hearing amazing things, and from the minute we walked in I was so impressed! Although in an older area, the restaurant itself was very modern, fun and felt authentic! We got the margarita flight which was so cute and yummy, and we all tried different kinds of tacos which all were amazing! Food came out very fast, and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Can t wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Uncle Ben s rice was cold and food was mid par
Fresh delicious great service
I had dinner here last night with some family and everything was absolutely amazing, the food, the margaritas and the atmosphere. But the truly standout part of our experience was our service from Shannon. She was so knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. It wasn t until we were paying our bill we found out she was at the end of a 12hr shift, but you never would have known, she s a real professional and an amazing part of the La Patrona team. Will definitely be back!!
Brought mom here for her birthday. Amazing spot!!! Thank you.
Very nice authentic Mexican Food. Finally found a spot where they serve legitimate spicy foods. I ordered the Mata Hambre and thought it was gonna be small but the portion was good and filling. My wife ordered the Al Pastor. Dont think that 3 tacos is not a lot because ITS A LOT
Everything about our experience here was fantastic. The food was authentic and very tasty, the staff were attentive and cheery, and the ambience/decor was memorable. Vegetarian options: Very tasty vegetarian options, but a limited selection.
Great food and service. Drive to sherwood park is worth it
We had the Flautas, Quesadillas Dorados, Cubana Torta, Hugo Tacos and the Churros. All were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and the torta especially was largely portioned! Service was friendly and efficient, atmosphere was lovely with soft lighting and Mexican inspired decor. Overall a great experience and we will definitely return!
Nice service, and food
Amazing meal from start to finish! Flavors and freshness of ingredients made this one of the best restaurant dining experiences Ive ever had. Will definitely be back
Great service , good food !! Awesome drinks !!
One of my favourite Mexican restaurants, the tres leches is my absolute favourite!! All of the staff is very friendly & I would definitely recommend :)
Everything was amazing as always Love this place Food
May I just add this place is my favorite place to eat in the city! The food is always so good-so filling- and doesnt take long to make either. The staff are always super welcoming and helpful. Brought my sister here a couple days ago and we are both planning to return with the rest of the family! Thank you staff for your wonderful business
Awsome food and service, fair prices. Definitely well come back again .
Awesome. Food was so fresh and yummy. Coconut margaritas amazing. Everything is house made fresh. Service was amazing and friendly. Definitely a fave for Mexican
Best Mexican food Id had in the Edmonton area. Make sure to book a reso!
We really missed some good tacos! Always remember the ones that we had in California from Mexican restaurants, food truck and cafes. Found this place with high reviews, thought to give it a try. Food was ok..The meat was dry, when we were offered cheese we thought it would be sprinkled on top, being melted ruined it so much, and there was waaaay to much cheese. Salsa was okish too, guacamole was good. It was not a love from the first taste..Left the plates more than half full.
Real Mexican food with top service
I heard rave reviews about this place so a friend and I had dinner there last night. I was really disappointed with most of our meal and the service. I ordered a mango margarita which was really subpar. I wanted to order a double but in a tall glass. Our server said that they didnt have tall glasses (wth)? We ordered Tortilla Soup which was the highlight of the evening! Served traditionally and the taste was exceptional! Unfortunately, nothing else about the evening was a good experience. We ordered Pollo Adobado as a main to share. It was disgusting. The chicken was so overcooked it tasted like eating sawdust. The meal was drenched in chopped onions and served with a little tiny dish of sauce that didnt taste like much. And one sliver of lime. In hindsight, I should have sent it back to the kitchen. That is if our waitress ever came by. Really poor food and poorer service. We ordered coffee after our meal, but our waitress was nowhere to be seen with refills. When we did see her she kept forgetting that we wanted cream. I finally went up to the bar and the bartender was kind enough to give me a glass full. I dont think that I will be returning to this restaurant any time soon.
Amazing food, great service... easily the best Mexican food outside of Mexico.
Just a really good atmosphere when youre there, and really good food. Nachos are dynamite
La Patrona has the best Mexican food around Edmonton in our opinion! We went there again this weekend and while the food was great, the service isn t quite as good and the tables are verrry small. We were seated at a table next to the wall and after ordering margarita flights and an appetizer and entrees, we literally did not have enough room on our table for our order. So if you re looking for great Mexican, go here but if you re looking for an all around great dining out experience, you may want to try elsewhere.
Take a mini Mexican vacation without leaving Sherwood Park! La Patrona has a great vibe, delicious food, and attentive and friendly service. Id suggest a reservation as this place is quite popular and not likely to have availability for walk-ins.
Great place. Highly recommend. Best tacos in the city in my opinion.
Love their nachos. Prob my fav in Edmonton and surrounding area. Pescatore and beef brisket tacos are also bomb.
Great food!
Amazing quality food in Sherwood Park! Would definitely dine here again. I would however love to see some sort of taco platter on the menu so you can try more than one type of taco. Food : 5/5
The food is good but a bit pricey for me.
Delicious food and cute patio. I would recommend this place.l and would also come back. My only comment to management would be is regarding extra charge for salsa. We asked for their hottest salsa and the waitress brought us 2 salsas (which was about 1 to 2 tablespoons of salsa each). I don t know exactly what the up charge was because we didn t get a printed bill but it was about $3 per salsa. This seems like a lot for the quantity. If you are going to charge for this, there should be something on the menu or mention from serving staff to help avoid the surprise for customers.
Great atmosphere with authentic Mexican dishes. I ve enjoyed each visit, whether with friends or my teen.
Amazing authentic Mexican food and huge portions. Relaxing atmosphere and an overall great experience. I definitely would recommend and will return. Keep up the great service..
Always a fantastic experience! Food is always full of flavour and service is always attentive even when they are busy! My go to for Mexican dishes whenever I am in the Sherwood Park area!
Such an amazing place and service. The service is outstanding
Food - food was decent, definitely more fusion than authentic Mexican food. The demographic of customer definitely gave it away that it s a fusion Mexican place. Mexico Lindo tasted way more authentic. Prices are expensive. Service - not as friendly server and could have checked back with us more on water refills. Atmosphere - tables are too close to each other, music is too loud and place is a little dim/dark
Went with my wife, got the Flautas, barbacoa, Hugo tacos and a (virgin ) Mango and strawberry daiquiri with Churros and flan as a dessert. Besides the mango daiquiri (too sour, didnt taste like mango), we were happy with everything we had. Definitely recommend!
Love this place! It took us forever to visit here despite reading rave reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Fantastic flavors, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Everything was completely stellar! We had several servers check on us, answer questions, and recommend things. The food was incredible; running the gamut of flavours: spicy, savory, sweet, acidic/bright, and all-around a delight! The drinks were great too, authentic margaritas are a highlight - along with an extensive selection of tequilas and even mezcal, which is a bit rare here - which I happily indulged in after dinner. The sangrita that accompanied it is made in-house and was so good we asked if we could buy it, which they said we could if we ordered ahead! If you dont know what it is, its very different from sangria - its like a fruit and vegetable cocktail with spices. Amazing palate cleanser and so good you could drink it on its own. You can make it, but it does have a fair few ingredients. Everything was presented very nicely, and the portions were very generous. The tacos seem to have quite a bit of variance in size though, so be sure to ask your server about that. Either way you will no doubt leave *very* full, and probably packing leftovers! Best thing to do is share everything so you can try more of the menu. The only slight complaint might be the churros, they were a bit doughy/soggy inside. Weve had better. But the chocolate whipped cream is a nice touch, and it could of course be different than when we went. Speaking of, it was filling up fast when we went at 4:30 on a Saturday, and it would have been better if we made a reservation - we were told the place was fully booked within an hour and a half. We took an hour so it was fine, but a big party was trickling in mid-way towards the end. La Patrona is not a well kept secret it seems, so expect it to be busy at peak times and surprisingly in off times as well. Im glad that theyre so busy & popular though, they certainly deserve it!! Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegetarian options that are just as good as their carnivorous counterparts. No lack of flavor here! Kid-friendliness: Seems great for kids, plenty of babies and younger kids around with no issues. A fun atmosphere during the day, maybe better without kids later at night.
First time at La Patrona and really enjoyed my meal.
Its a great place. Would go again Food
The service and food/drinks were amazing!! Would recommend!
La Patrona is amazing! The food is fantastic, the portions are huge, and the service is wonderful. Shannon was an absolute delight and made us feel super welcome. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was all around great to us. The Queso Fundido was straight up better than I had on my recent trip to Mexico. 100% a Sherwood Park must try and will definitely be back!
Fantastic Mexican spot in Sherwood park with excellent tacos and other Mexican flavours. The drinks were on point and everything was made fresh to order which was delicious. Would definitely recommend!
The food was authentic and the staff were great!! I would definitely eat there again.
Best tacos I ve ever had. Also had some floutas which are fully loaded and delicious. I am also gluten free and they cook food for people with allergies in separate oil which I felt was so nice. Definitely gonna be a regular here!
Really great food and customer service. We made a take out order over the phone when it was super busy and when we got home we realized one of the items of our order was missing. We called back and spoke to Tatiana who was super helpful in getting us a refund for the item we didn t receive (too far of a drive to pick up the missing item). Tatiana and the manager Alejandro were really helpful and we will definitely be back Dietary restrictions: My girlfriend has a gluten allergy and has never had a reaction to anything in the multiple times we ve eaten here. It s become a regular spot for us because they seem to have a good protocol to limit cross contact.
I have dined at La Patrona plenty of times and have always been blown away with how amazing their food is. I decided to have them cater a party for me for 30 people on April 12/24. I reached out to them through their website and received an email from their Director, Janette immediately. Janette was very helpful, and was always super quick to respond. Janette recommended for me to get the nachos, salsa, guacamole, Mexican rice, churros, and told me all the protein options I could choose from for our tacos. I ended up going with the Pollo, as well as the Brisket. The girls who delivered the food to my home were super professional, polite, and helpful. The FOOD! I am not lying when I say everything was amazing! I was told by plenty of guests that the guacamole was the best theyd ever had... the nacho chips were homemade and so delicious. I paid $24.95 per person for 30 people (this was based on each guest having 3 tacos...I can tell you one guest had 6, and we still had plenty!), and we had more than enough food. I would highly recommend having La Patrona cater your next party!
This restaurant is a small little gem that I have missed so many times visiting the complex. The atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting, with delicious food. It would be and will be a place to repeat visit to try all the items on their menu.
For a Sunday I couldnt believe how busy they were. Which is always a good sign. Staff were very accommodating considering a last-minute reservation with a wheelchair is not always doable when your super busy. Parking: Free parking in a huge parking low with any large free lots across the street. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible entrance and low square tables near the front. The bathroom and patio are also accessible
Love the vibe love the space. Small, quaint but dynamite.
What a amazing place And the food is and truly Mexican. Food : 5/5 |
I ve been going to this restaurant since I was a kid with my family and I ve had phenomenal service and food always felt comfortable until we got a server named Tatiana I believe who mocked us to the kitchen staff after we asked if there was 8 corn tortillas that was said on the menu instead of the 7 we got because we were sharing our meal after having a first date night out after having a sick toddler for so long and I watched her do it and they both looked back at us which made us so uncomfortable that we got our food to go after and left. I didn t want to give this entire restaurant a one star review because this is a first bad experience there for us and they really do have great food and drinks. We don t normally ask things like this but we were sharing and set a budget for our date night out since life is so expensive lately so we were just asking what we were paying for. She did some more things that sucked but I think the mocking was enough said on here. I get people have bad days but that was really bad service.
Excellent service
Amazing!! The staff are amazing. Food is phenomenal. This is a really popular place to eat. We made the mistake of just dropping in & we were very fortunate to get a table fairly quickly. Definitely make a reservation.
Awesome experience at La Patrona. Food was outstanding, so many gluten free options and very knowledgeable staff regarding gluten allergy. I highly recommend this restaurant to any celiacs or gluten intolerant people! You wont be disappointed! Dietary restrictions: Tons of gluten free options
Delicious place for Tacos and cocktails. It is intimate and quaint so reservations are recommended.
Authentic Mexican in Sherwood Park
Another great meal at one of our favourite places, La Patrona. They never let us down. Food and service is always A+ Thanks to our friendly server, Karol for her recommendations and making our night out a special one.
Amazing soup, an absolute must have ..
LISTEN UP... THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN EDMONTON AND AREA... EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS INCREDIBLE! THE STAFF, THE ATMOSPHERE AND ITS HONESTLY SOME OF THE BEST FOOD IVE EATEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. BY FAR THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD YOU CAN FIND. THE TORTILLA SOUP IS UNBELIEVABLE. EASILY THE BEST SOUP IVE EVER HAD. THE NACHOS ARE UNREAL AND FULLY LOADED! AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE IS THE BARBOCAO TACOS OR TORTA(SANDWICH). ITS JUST SO GOOD. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE!
Great place.
As a Mexican, I can say that this food is authentic! Congratulations, I was delighted with the foods richness and originality from Mexico. Ive been there a couple of times and Ive tried a few dishes already. Each is gle one is as mx as it can be. And oh, the whole place is well-decorated. The servings are big and very delicious served on some nice and cool plattering.
Got 2 tortas and they were amazing! Ill be definitely coming back...
Great place to eat!
Would not know if the food was good or not. The hostess was not interested in trying to seat us. She told us to go to the restaurant across the street. I would have thought she would have given us an estimated time or put two tables together instead of turning away business.
so yummy! can t wait to come back
Made reservations to eat here with work team for lunch at noon on a weekday. Place was packed. They did have a large enough table reserved for us, but service was so slow (more from the wait staff than from kitchen) that two from our party left before ordering, as they were worried they couldnt wrap up the meal with enough time to get back for a meeting. Probably better for dinner than lunch, unless you dont have plans right away. Food was good.
Always a good meal. Highly recommend the nachos and queso fundido.
Delicious food, amazing atmosphere. We ordered the special on Taco Tuesday and for the price it was worth it! Had plenty of food for two! Waitress was amazing.
We got the taco platter that gives you a choice of three different tacos, where you get three of each. We got the combination of camarón, the asada, and suadero. Suadero was my favourite. Juicy. Flavourful. Delicious. I also got a nonalcoholic p na colada that made me want to buy a ticket down south. But this is the only place I can afford.
I like their tortas
When we arrived the restaurant was far from busy and there were 3 half booths available and about 8 tables available. I specifically called and made sure they had half booths available before we went in because we had my 3 month old with us, they confirmed over the phone it wouldn t be a problem to get a booth for 3 people. When we arrived the woman at the front started speaking in another language when I requested a booth and then had her colleague try to seat us at a table after I explained the bassinet wouldn t be stable on a chair and we needed a booth. They explained they wouldn t provide us with a booth as there were only 2 people in need of seats. Im extremely disappointed as we love the food here. But clearly they don t welcome or accommodate for families.
Great food and great service. Will come back next time I m in Sherwood Park
Amazing food, relaxing atmosphere, customer service was great. We really enjoyed it there.
One of the best Mexican food places in the Edmonton area, truly authentic Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options, the veggie tacos are all that you ll need though Food : 5/5 |
Best tacos Ive had in a long time. Great selection of non-alcoholic drinks- the virgin Miami Vice was to die for. Food service was so quick, our tacos arrived before our delicious drinks. I will definitely be back.
We love this restaurant, love their Nachos, so far the best mexican food we have ever had outside Mexico
Very good food and very hospitable workers.
Authentic Mexican food . Loved the atmosphere and the food my fav was Mata Aamre
Probably the best mexican food in the Edmonton area.
Very impressed with their tacos, the toppings compliment the meat so well. Had the shrimp and the pork (Al pastor) ones, highly recommend. Coming back!
I loved it - so flavorful and the staff are good at what they do and they know their menu well. Its a busy place so be prepared for that.
LOVE THIS!! This is my favourite Mexican restaurant around, I get the fish tacos and the nachos! The desserts are also so yummy.
Last minute reservations. Had amazing food and beverages recommended by owner. Such fantastic service, I d like to have this experience again really soon. Cheers team La Patrona.
Food is excellent, little pricey.
Absolutely amazing food! I highly advise to book in advance as its quite busy :) our server was very kind and helpful advising what was on special as well as personal favorites. We had the Chile releno and the chicken enchiladas with a special drink to enjoy, everything was so fantastic :D
Amigos, I assure you, Its love at first bite so, let me tell you, La Patrona is a must-go. Their unparalleled La Cubana sandwich reminds me of those lomitos I ate back in Argentina and Uruguay, but better for it has no equal.
Honestly the best restaurant I have been too. Food is 6/5 Service is 6/5 and Atmosphere is 6/5. Highly recommend
Amazing Experience!! Loved the Food!
This is the BEST Mexican restaurant hands down. The food is authentic, the tortilla chips and salsa/sauces are made in house. It was unbelievable Food
We ordered nachos as our appetizers, and when the waitress brought over the nachos the top tipped over as she placed it down from the table. She then said oh let me get some napkins for you. Ran over grabbed napkins and just placed them on the table. She didnt apologize for dropping our food or anything and then she saw our confused faces for her to be like oh you can clean it yourself or eat it off the table, the table was sanitized and we said yeah but were not eating off the table only for her to be like thats why I brought you napkins. Ive never experienced that in any other restaurant. If they drop food they either try to fix it or offer you a new plate. Instead she expected us to eat it off the table that Im sure they use the same wipe for every table, and then expected us to clean the mess... not good service. We were not happy. Aside from that, they brought us the wrong salsas but she never came back to ask how the food was until we were finishing up our food.
This is officially a staple for fantastic food! I have been here 6 times now and everytime has exceeded my expectations. Consistency! Presentation! Delicious Food! You dont want to pass up a meal at this wonderful establishment. Traditional food, modern twists, fresh ingredients. 12/10 will eat here again. Vegetarian options: There are veggie options, I cannot speak on how equipped they are for vegan options. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options, are very receptive to allergies etc. Parking: Lots of parking, massive buisness park on Sherwood Park. Wheelchair accessibility: Theres ramps, standard one floor one room restaurant/cantina.
Great portion size, Karol (our server) was fabulous! Flour tortillas were no problem here. Would highly recommend for an authentic Mexican restaurant!
I absolutely love this place. Best fish tacos around. I highly recommend a visit to La Patrona.
I don t know what I ate to be honest. My Mexican friend ordered for me. The food was utterly delicious, I also bought a jar of their homemade Habanero Relish, I can t live without this relish going forward. A Ham sandwich will never be the same again. Food : 5/5
Best genuine Mexican food in Sherwood Park. I would highly recommend & Octavia was a great server. Totally enjoyed it all & a very cool & cozy place for good food & drinks. Reservation recommended.
Fantastic little spot with amazing wait staff. Very knowledgeable. Food was incredible. Great atmosphere, busy but still a great place to talk with family and friends. Highly recommend!

What looked like a bed bug in my food.
Great service and incredible food
Would highly recommend this place. Such a cool little vibe but definitely book a table if you re not cool with sitting at the bar. But the bar is also awesome haha. Food
Great place, very nice and attentive service. Definitely recommend it. All the food a tride was very well served and presented. Large portion to definitely fill you up.
Horrible booking system tried calling them and no answer and when I booed it online. I booked it 5 days in advance, and it sent me to the other one by the patrona, so a total different location and before that three weeks ago I tried to book with them again by phone and they were busy.
Phenomenal food, great service and overall a splendid culinary experience. You can never go wrong with the place.
Amazing Mexican eats.
Its an amazing hidden gem. We went for lunch on a Friday without reservations and luckily we got a table. Make sure you reserve! Atmosphere was super cool, music, lighting, decor. Our server was great and professional. The food was so good too. All good things all around. Highly recommend and will come back for sure.
They were knowledgeable about gluten free items and as a celiac I appreciated that. Items are not marked GF but the waitress goes through it with you. Everything was fantastic. The price is probably higher for the quantity that you get which is why the 4 star instead of 5 but everything else is great.
