Very warm and welcoming atmosphere, staff are awesome and so friendly. Made the experience even better. Fresh food, and quick service. We always order the 2 piece fish and then heat the second piece in the oven the next day and it tastes just as good as the first day.
Your new favorite place to eat! GLUTEN FREE, and authentic British UK and English cuisine. We had a steak and kidney pie, gluten free Eton mess, gluten free onions rings and gluten free fish and chips. The atmosphere is lovely and the owner is a very nice man. Lots of thought behind the decor. Check it out and you won't be disappointed to eat this delicious and fresh food. Lots of options! If you are Celiac you'll say, "I haven't had this in years!" Just like my mom did. She is one happy camper!
It was my first time visiting this establishment. Had the Fish (cod) and Chips which seemed a little pricey but was very tasty and cooked exactly as it should be. They could have been a little more generous with the fries. Overall both the fish and chips were very tasty and I would definitely go back again to try some of the other dishes. Suggestion , increase portion for fries and maybe add a spoonful of coleslaw as many other places do. I will be back :)
The food was fantastic! I had the cod, and it was so light and crispy , not greasy. I felt incredibly welcomed and attended to. I had a great chat with 1 of the owners, Jay, who told me about the history of the recipes and how they got to where they are now. Please support this small business!
Definitely a fantastic place for your fish and chips cravings, but they have so much more 😋 I haven't tasted this style of fish & chips in a very long time and now we have one in our own community 😀 also thank you for such a great meal, your not kidding when you say you hold the highest level of Food Quality and with great guest services with a smile all the time. I'll definitely be back again, thank you. 😊 👍
The halibut and chips far exceeded my expectations on my first time visit today. The order was huge and was worth every dollar to have halibut. The coleslaw was exceptipnal in flavour in all a great experience. The hostess was so friendly and made you feel very welcome. The atmosphere is warm and casual. Definetly recomended!
Just had my first and not last order of Haddock fish and Chips, delicious 😋 and spoke with whom I assume was the owner, very friendly staff. The Coleslaw is delicious and fries were good and crispy. My son loved his chicken fingers and fries, he said they were his new favorite. Worth checking out across from Windsor Plywood. They also have a full gluten aware menu! I love tartar sauce, should have taken picture before I smothered it. We will be back!
Attended this restaurant last night with my Fiance for a date night. We picked this location primarily for the gluten free option for the battered fish. Our experience was well, we were the first to sit in the restaurant at 5pm, small little corner spot with a decent environment. I believe there was 6 spots at the bar and about 16 tables inside the establishment. Menus were at the table, physical copy menus which was nice. Purchased the gluten free onion rings to start. The onion rings were good, but slightly burnt, tasted well though. My fiance ordered the 2 piece halibut (gluten free) and so did I but not the gluten free one, unfortunately the chef cooked two gluten free meals. Carried on with my meal, did not send it back as I don't mind GF. Fish tasted really good! Flakey, good crunch to the batter, well cooked, overall extremely happy. Server was kind, she was on her own, I am imagining on a busy night it would 3 total (1 bartender + 2 servers). Overall, was very happy with my meal and date night with the lady!
Went to Winston fish and chips in Sherwood park today. I am amazed at how knowledgeable the staff and owner are of celiac . The owner personally came to my table and explained how they handle gluten free foods. They do not up the prices on gluten free food it s the same price as regular food. They have a dedicated section of the kitchen so there is ZERO chance of cross contamination and they bring out gluten free food to the table before the regular food so the dishes have no chance of touching. This was a great experience. Actually the best experiance I had In A restaurant and I will be back. My son is a regular food eater and he tried mine and said it tastes like his.
The food was amazing! Huge portions of fish, the drinks were cold and the staff were very friendly. It was my first time going there and I will for sure be going back! Highly recommend
Hands down the best fish and chips Ive had in Sherwood Park or Edmonton
I took my mom for lunch and the service and food was excellent! The server was attentive, prompt, & efficient! We met the owner and he was charming and friendly. Highly recommended!! *tell your friends
Fantastic local fish and chips shop
Best Fish I ve ever had!! It s a little bit more expensive but it s worth it 100%. I had the Halibut with poutine, and it was delicious. A gentleman who I believe was the owner came and talked to us for over five minutes which you don t get at most restaurants. I thought it was very generous of him. I have four words- I WILL BE BACK!!!
Fish was crispy and meaty!! Loved it. Fries were underwhelming, overcooked and oily. But thats okay, we came for the fish! Well be back Kid-friendliness: Crayons
Great value, delicious food
Food was great. The patio should have been open on such a nice day. Price point high for simple food.
Picked up a takeout order and when given the bill, they had already added 20% tip. Had to ask and then get the manager to remove the tip. Maybe I would choose to leave a tip, but 20% on an order to go that I am picking up. NO WAY. And sneaking it in the bill before I as it is completely sneaky, dishonest, and wrong. The food was at best, ok.
I went there with my friends and family and we had amazing experience. Must try, I am strongly recommend. I am regular customer I admit
Excellent fresh food. Well worth the price.
The owner is a wonderful and hilarious man who made our table laugh and feel incredibly welcome, the food was amazing as well.
Stopped by for an impromptu lunch with some family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The place itself is perfect for a quick little sit-down meal, theres a good selection both for fish and non-fish meals (including desserts), and the portions are better than a lot of places Ive ordered fish n chips from. All three of us went with the haddock and it came out delicious; excellent crust, that nice flaky texture, and great flavour. Would highly recommend, especially if youre looking for a simple but tasty comfort meal.
Good quality fish and chips..I always enjoy the halibut. My tip is just get the one piece and chips as they are large. Unless you have a very large appetite.
Good food, nice people
Celiac friendly!! The gluten free fish/ chips and Cole slaw is safe to eat and sooooo good! Thank you Winston s
41 bucks for soggy halibut n chips.
The fish & chips are some of the best you will find in Sherwood Park. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. We will definitely be coming back. Good job, Jay & staff!!!
Excellent service even though there was only 1 server she was very attentive. The batter on the fish was excellent ,the fish was a bit over done and large portions , could use a bit more upbeat atmosphere, music
Ps.They have gluten free options. The fish and chips are OUT OF THIS WORLD (as an easterner thats a big deal). We love their halibut! Service is prompt and very kind. Not enough people know about this gem and its worth every penny! Highly recommend!
Had the one piece cod & chips. It was pricey, but truth be told, everything is pricey these days. It was okay. Hard to find authentic fish & chips. I probably won t be back. Very much a chain restaurant vibe. Asked if could get pan fried. Nope. The waitress was great! Friendly!
Amazing food & Staff!! The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable!!
There are not enough words to describe how fantastic the food was here from the haddock to the Atlantic cod, chicken fingers, and the steak and kidney pie every bite was amazing , it was one those experiences where you think of a flash back as a kid enjoying your favourite meal , I will definitely be returning for future meals Kid-friendliness: The owners are absolutely the friendliest people and include the kids in conversations
Top quality Fish and Chips with generous portions and reasonable prices. Owner is friendly and welcoming.
If I could give Winstons six stars, I would. Such a gem! We went on a double date here about a half hour before closing. I didnt realize it was so late, but the staff were so friendly to us. If they had been a little run down I wouldve totally understood. But these people went the extra mile and showed no indication that we were unwelcome. In fact, the owner of the shop came out, sat down beside us, and told us everything there is to know about the fish and chips. I dont remember all the details, but he mentioned that they use a specific high-quality oil to fry the fish because a lower quality oil will make you feel lethargic after eating. We laughed because we had plans to play Badminton after eating but sure enough, none of us had any cramps or anything. They should advertise that their fish enhances athletic performance lol. The food was so nourishing and high quality. Last thing, the fish is gigantic! All of us ordered a two-piece meal. I expected the standard size of fish. Yknow, like about the size of a sponge? No way, man. Each piece is a full fish-sized filet! It was amazing. Loved it, start to finish. So much food without the gut bomb afterwards. Was not expecting it to be as much of a banger as it was.
the fish was soggy. the fries were stuck together and the whole thing was cold .Not too happy and will not be ordering again. very dissatisfied.
Amazing
The single best Halibut I ve had. 10/10 will be coming back
Great fish and chips! The food is right on point. Had the haddock and fish burger, both were amazing. The fries are great too!
Best fish Ive had Edmonton
Good food
We had cod and chips with coleslaw and mushy peas. Tasted really good and will definitely go back, got to talk to the owner and tried to persuade him to open up a fish and chip shop in Beaumont. Parking: No problem getting a parking space
We came to try out Winstons for the first time today. We had the cod and haddock and it was really tasty, with light fluffy batter. Atmosphere and service was good. But we were disappointed that every single thing was an extra fee, from the coleslaw to the scoop of ice cream on a dessert that was already $12. For 2 people, the bill was over $100, plus tip. Thats normal for steak, but a bit steep for fish and chips.
Always get amazing tasting fish from here! Definitely the best fish and chips in the Edmonton area! Dietary restrictions: Awesome gluten free fish options!
Brought my husband in for Fish and chips, as was his 81st birthday , and was treated to a free dessert. We were treated like royalty. Thanks for making today fell special.
Very generous portions with attentive service. We had the fish and chips with cod and halibut fish and butter chicken poutine. Everyone was happy with their meals. Food
I was on my way to joey s fish and chips in Sherwood Park and my son said no let s try this New Pl., Winston and dam he made a good choice because all I remember of Joey s because I could ring the fish out and change the oil in my car at Winston. The owner came out and gave us a history on their establishment. When the food came, we ordered the family meal, which was like mouthwatering, so if you want a good place to go have fish I highly recommend this you will not be disappointed way to go with your service and atmosphere Was above and beyond my expectations as for their coleslaw which I despise is everywhere it s disgusting, but over here while I was totally amazed, best coleslaw I have ever eaten don t know what they did to it but serve me
Classic fish and chips. The food came very quickly and tasted great.
Been here a number of times. Always been great but tonight the fries were not crispy on the outside nor fluffy on the inside. The cod was just ok. The outer batter certainly was not crispy either. All in all not real good tonight. Sadly just bland. Also $4.00 for a small container of coldslaw is robbery. Will think twice before returning any time soon unfortunately.
An excellent place for gluten free fish and chips! Many other items on the menu are GF also. Very impressed with the meal. Loved the dill in the coleslaw salad. Will be coming back to try the other GF items. Very nice establishment. Friendly staff. Highly recommend this place.
My son and I stopped here for a late lunch as we were craving good fish and chips. Winstons Fish and Chips did not disappoint! We ordered leek and potato soup, plus the lunch fish and chips. I am from the west coast originally, so I know good fish, Winstons does it right, with fresh choices of cod, Haddock, or halibut with a light golden crust, and fries that are hot and crispy. The fish portion literally spanned the width of the plate! Big bottles of malt vinegar, tartar, and ketchup are brought to the table. Adding their yummy mushy peas and coleslaw is a must :) Service was excellent. The friendly owner, Jay, even came over to chat, and it was obvious he is dedicated to maintaining the original British authenticity of the restaurant, its menu, and recipes. Lot of great Irish and British beers on the menu to top it off. Well be heading back asap for their steak and kidney pie and a Guinness (nearly impossible to find anywhere else .
Amazing place for those with gluten sensitivities, all the fried items were delicious and you would have no idea they were gluten free (gf option available), truly magical. I am celiac and had no complications after eating here, I highly recommend super friendly staff as well! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free - celiac
Cute little place and their deep fried oreos are amazing!!
Food is good but charged me $1 for a thin plastic bag without asking if I wanted one. Then they said theyre doing it because everyone else is... Seriously?
It was delicious. We have British heritage and had a trip to England. There we had fish and chips. This place has more flavourful fish and chips than I have ever tried before
The Fish and Chips and Winstons are BETTER then what youll find in London. The portion sizes are just as huge too for this authenticly used British Reciepes restaurant. The steak and potato pie tastes exactly like my wifes British grandmother makes it. And unlike London, the owner and staff are very friendly lol. My wife and I will return as often as we can.
This an amazing place. You will find gluten free options galore. Light crispy battered fish, perfectly cooked fish, and a variety of options. The portions are large and it is good value for the money. The atmosphere was calming and you will find friendly, attentive staff and an interactive caring owner with great stories. We will be back!
Incredible! This authentic fish & chip gem is a must! Perfect batter, chips were delicious and the coleslaw was amazing! Highly recommended!!
Ordered $350 worth of food for delivery. Was missing a $20 piece of halibut. Got sent zero tartar sauce. Called back to rectify, lady told me should would speak to manager and call me back. Never got a call back. Obviously have call display, tried calling again and they won t answer. First and last business they will get from me!
We love supporting local, but unfortunately we cant return after spending just over $100 for two people on one appetizer, two pops, two - one piece fish&chips and one desert. The only thing we liked was the fish and the deep fried mushrooms. Our pop was extremely flat, the chips were overcooked and dry, the gravy tasted awful and definitely made from a packet, the coleslaw was bland and the sticky toffee pudding was definitely from a frozen container you can buy at a grocery store. The only thing wed go back for is the fish.
Celiacs and Newfies! Winston s Fish and Chips in Sherwood Park! Gluten free gravy, fries and fish! Food : 5/5
Dinner, we all had the Haddock, me 2 piece, the ladies 1. Left full and satisfied. Their fish batter is better then most. Parking: Its in a strip mall Kid-friendliness: Cheerful place to dine
Winstons fish and chips provides a wonder British experience and the food tasted great
Excellent service and fabulous food. Another fantastic dinner. Food was delicious and hot. Good food. Well done. Staff was very nice and friendly. Food : 5/5
The food was fantastic and have some of the best gluten free options in the industry. 100 % recommend this place if you like Fish and Chips, gluten free or not. Dietary restrictions: Totally cater to Celiac, two thumbs up.
Great place for fish and chips etc. Wonderful British food with gf fish and chips and even onion rings. Dessert was pretty good but not the best. Main dish here was such a good portion with amazing chips. Would come again. A bit pricey but worth it. Dietary restrictions: Gf options avaliable
Food was pretty bland one piece of fish way over cooked the other was half raw way over priced for what you get they forgot half of the order then argue that we didn t order it
Fish was good. Chips are unfortunately not made on site and are just shop bought. Fish and Chip shop 101.. make your own chips.
Absolutely great Fish (Atlantic haddock) and a large portion for a good price. Cod, Pollock and Pacific haddock also available). Fries were delicious. Chowder could have been fresher.. Proper Guiness on tap and Id give the pour a 7/10
Great food
This is the daughter location of Winstons on 105 st and 51st Ave in Edmonton. This is my favorite place in Edmonton area for fish and chips. Highly recommend everything on the menu, and to try the different types of fish they serve. The fish is breaded perfectly, it is crisp and thin. A single serving is a full fillet of fish. They make it fresh to order, along with the chips. The gravy is perfect with the fries and I highly recommend the butter chicken dipping sauce for the fish or the fries.
Very friendly staff and good food
Nice food Have to waite ages Not chips so disappointed... fries like everywhere else Fish tasted okay but was not fresh Too expensive .. 2 fish and 2 chips and 1 mushy peas take out $46.00! When will someone actually start a proper fish n chip shop that is british style..! We long for it... unfortunately Canadians do not get it... so overall i would go again if prices were less. We can get a full brisket meal for 2 for 10 bucks less...?!
Fish was a little greasy, fries were great.
Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the fish. We both ordered 2 Alaskan pollock and chips with a large coleslaw. (We started eating the coleslaw before I got a picture) Both left VERY full. Would go back again next time were in the area and looking for excellent, hot fresh fish and chips.
Pretty solid Fish & Chips place for the Edmonton area. It is pricey (like all the others), and the atmosphere really doesnt exist outside of a few trinkets on the wall, but the food was good and the waitress was very quick, kind, and attentive. If you are looking for a place in the Edmonton area with good Fish & Chips (pies too), and you understand that no matter where you go, this far inland is NOT comparable to the coast, then I would recommend these fine folks.
Felt sick after.
From the moment you walk in the door youre in for a real treat, friendly staff, great and delicious food, highly recommended!!!
A great find in Sherwood Park, Best Fish and Chip meal I ve had out in a long time. The staff is always friendly, food is delicious, great portion size.
Having worked at the original Sir Winston s location for many years while in University, my heart immediately warmed when I walked into the new Sherwood Park location with my son. Although a brand new location, the decor and atmosphere brought back so many fond memories. Co-owner Jay Patel sat and chatted with me and my son as I went on and on about the good old days. It was an amazing experience and the fried batter is still the best that I have ever tasted. Their new mushy pea fritters are to die for, and I can t wait to go back with my entire family! Sir Winston s for life!
Hello after reading all the raving reviews regarding this restaurant. We decided to order meals from this establishment. We were disappointed. We found the batter greasy and not crisp. Cod was decent, the Haddock was mushy in texture. Coleslaw was good and the service was pleasant. Considering the lack of quality I don t think we will be ordering from this restaurant again. We will keep looking for a good fresh fish and chips meal restaurant. Thank you Shirl
I ve been going to the south Edm location for awhile now, was nice to see the local independent business expand to SP. If you re craving fish and chips and a cold beer, this is the place to go, hands down.
Excellent fish and chips. Hidden gem.
Last year I discovered that Winstons was now in Sherwood park to my delight, since I was a frequent restaurant customer in Edmonton and had moved to Sherwood Park. I Im at least a weekly customer since discovering this restaurant. I am greeted now by first name. I do take out only. However, I have brought company with me twice, and they enjoyed their experience very much and have since returned. When I come through the door, the greeting by my name and the girls are pleasant and so lovely and personable. The food is absolutely wonderful. The cook and staff know my order and cook my Fish and Chips crispy just as I like it. I highly recommend anyone who craves and loves fish-and-chips to come to Winstons because its a first-rate restaurant on all levels See you soon !!! Dietary restrictions: Fantastic place for gluten-free patrons such as my daughter she enjoyed it very much.
The food was absolutely delicious. We had the haddock and chips. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this real gem of a restaurant. Thanks Winstons!
We were pleasantly surprised by this quaint fish & chips right here in Sherwood Park! Fresh tasting food and amazing service. Winstons Fish & Chips is just what sherwood park needed, the food was delicious, I got my much loved halibut and my husband tried pollock for the first time. There is lots on the menu to try and explore, we cant wait to come back again!
The pieces of cod were much larger than expected. The battered fried fish was delicious. I would like to try the halibut next time around. The service was prompt and courteous.
We had heard that Winston s was supposed to be a really good restaurant for fish and chips. What a disappointment. We started with deep fried mushrooms that tasted as if they were deep fried in weeks old grease. Like the flavour from the traveling exhibition. The batter had an odd, stale taste. To complement our full meal deal of 2 pieces of fish with chips & a beverage, we ordered some onion rings. The onion rings were typical. If you put them beside an order from Dairy Queen, I don t think you d be able to tell the difference, other than price. When the main dish came, I was a bit disappointed when the chips were not fresh cut fries, as one would think they d be for a restaurant that serves Real Fish & Chips. I recognized the flavour & coating on the chips, and the waitress could not deny when I asked about the coating on the fries that seemed eerily similar to the Cavendish fries you get from Costco. Apparently my taste buds were bang on. The highlight of the fish was more of a lowlight. I wondered who may have been the supplier of the fillets. They were large, but the batter was greasy and overpowered the fish. I wouldn t be surprised if one could get the same quality meal from a chain restaurant at half the price. On a bright note, the service was great, the waitress was very pleasant. Safe to say the tip was for the service and not the food. Our quest for a quality meal of Real fish & chips continues.
Overall not impressed with the restaurant. The food was good and portions were substantial so that does offset the somewhat higher prices. However the service wasnt acceptable. When ordering online there is an option to select the time for your pickup. If you are going to offer this then meet your commitment. I waited close to 15 minutes for the order after the designated time and the restaurant was not busy. Final straw was a charge of $2 for a paper bag for the take out order. Same bag you would get at a grocery store for 25 cents. I didnt need or want a bag but thats not an option. Cant use your own like at the grocery store if you want one? Wont be back again lots of options for restaurants that dont charge junk fees for saving them money by picking up your order.
Good food
Food is good but needs some attention to presentation. Service has greatly improved.
Food was greasy and not so-so, but overpriced for what you got and the flavour. Went to check it out cause we read some good reviews, but wont be going back. Walked in and first step in, the floor was sticky. Then we could see a staff member pulling frozen fish out of the box, with a mop and bucket right beside him. Not very food safe. Checked out the place, not on my list of have to go to places. Even other customers were talking about the food and prices, saying they will be going other places, like Blowers and Graffton. I have to agree
I was actually disappointed, the clam chowder seems like a campbells soup brand but was watered down also, the fish wasn t to bad but had better for that being the main thing. I wouldn t eat there again.
Me and my boyfriend went here tonight after seeing on a gluten free page that there was a location in sherwood park. This was actually our second option for dinner tonight and we are so happy the first didnt work out. This place had the best gf fish and chips Ive ever had. I also love the onion rings, for being gf the batter was soooo crispy which is super hard to come by. My boyfriend was raised by English grandparents and said that was the best fish and chips hes had in years. The owner was also extremely lovely! Had a great conversation with us over dinner. The place was super clean and inviting. We will 100% be back
I ordered the full meal deal halibut fish was a thin slice like sole or haddock definitely not halibut and was double coated with a crispy crust that made the fish pieces look 3 times in size. Definitely not worth it & definitely would not recommend
Not for real too expensive compared to whats on plate. Service is ok but atmosphere is too dull. Coleslaw was the best so far.
I prefer the sherwood park location much better than the other one. Better standard of service, food seemed to be better, lighter location and nicer washrooms. Also they are much better of the drink refills at this location than the other. I had the cod meal
Awesome fish and chips. Great service and great food. Recommended
We were very excited to try this place as we had company visiting. We did take out and had a pleasant ordering experience and pick up experience. From what we could see, the restaurant atmosphere was appealing. However, the fish was so very greasily battered & heavy tasting, that some of us felt nauseous afterward. Overall, the food was relatively subpar, and we cant get past how heavy it was to try another visit.
Absolutely wonderful dinner tonight for my Birthday. Jay and staff were friendly and helpful. The meal was absolutely fantastic Dietary restrictions: Great gluten friendly options
Satisfied the fish and chip craving bigtime. Halibut was flaky, perfect. Batter was light and crispy. Fries were SOOOO good. Best tartar sauce Ive ever had. Even the coleslaw was yummy, not too vinegary. Fantastic birthday dinner!
Nice addition to the Winstons fish and chips family. I usually frequent the south edmonton location but dropped in to the new sherwood park location. Nice bright atmosphere, lots of seating and great service. Will definitely drop in when Im in the Park.
Ill be going back
This place is awesome! The food is great and the menu has authentic items. Staff were great and the owner is a very friendly guy. I highly recommend this place!
1st time and really enjoyed the experience. Originally from Vancouver Island and will say that the Fish and Chips were perfect. I would even say it beats the west coast eateries. The staff were super and enjoyed talking to the owner. If you need gulten free, this is the place. Will definitely be back. Even has mushy peas!
Great food, great service, and large portions. Highly recommend Winstons.
Food and service was awesome. I would definitley go back!
We had fish and chips for the first time with Winstons at the truck down at Half Moon Lake and Resort. I have to say, this is the best I have in years! Last customer of the day and they even threw in a free coleslaw. I would diffedently buy from them again.
I had Winston s special Halibut fish and chip. OMG it was fantastic experience. The chef Harry and owner Jay showed excellent hospitality and very friendly eating joint. My wife had Samosa pie and Poutine. Amazing!!!! I highly recommend to visit guys.
We visited this place from Michigan, USA. My wife had their poutine with chips with a side of coleslaw and I had the regular chips. They were heavenly. The service was superb. These people know what they are cooking with love and attention to details. Vegetarian options: Gluten free and fresh!
Were from Troy Michigan USA . We stop by for lunch. This is new location good set up, we had Poutine, Samosa pie and chips and Vegetable Samosa. We enjoyed all food. Customer service is fentastic. Servers are very friendly and smile I like to visit again this Sherwood park location.
Gluten Free experience was great! They were very attentive to our needs. Have a specific GF menu. And the prices are equivalent to the regular options. The portions were large, you get great value. Will definitely eat here again. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free was handled VERY well, they have a dedicated fryer, and the GF specific menu is the same price as the regular option.
Not much parking, no AC inside, Friendly prompt staff and food was good.
Amazing. They know what theyre doing!
Really friendly service and awesome food
The owner came out to the table to visit with me, a family owned business and you can tell they take pride in treating you as if you were family also. Definitely recommend a pint of Guinness and the dessert. I couldnt have asked for a better experience on this accidental find. Bonus is an old fashioned arcade next door so you can enjoy a few games after your drinks to sober up
Good quality food, friendly and efficient staff, responsible prices.
First time ordering from here. Food was ready on time to pick up, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Good sized fish and chip portions, not really the way chips are done in the UK, but we are not in the UK, so thats fine. Food was hot and all in all reasonably priced except for the sides and dessert, which for the price could have been larger portions. A nice addition to the park, we will eat/order from here again and recommend it to others to try.
Great fish and chips. Closed at 8. Way too early. We try to order several times between 8-10 pm. No luck.
First time order and will be my last... Finally tried the fish n chips based on a recommendation but found the fish very greasy and mostly batter... Overpriced for the quality! The fries were not fresh. The online pick up order automatically calculated a $7.49 tip ... Which makes no sense for a pick-up order. Spent $50 for a dinner that left us with stomach aches...
Booked the food truck for a private family event. The service and food were awesome. Highly recommend.
Very suprised and happy we went here...we will visit again!
The food is amazing. Chowder is delicious. I just wish for a clam chowder. Even with its great taste there were actually clams in the soup. As that is my only complaint. Otherwise amazing. Just make sure there are clams in your clam chowder when you serve. As you obviously need more. lol.
I ordered a 2 piece meal and ended up bringing 1/2 of it home as there was so much. And it was very good, as were the fries. We will definitely be going back.
Excellent fish and chips.
Every time we have had dinner here, the service has been friendly and fast. The fish and chips are fresh, crispy, and delicious. If you enjoy good fish and chips, this is the place to go to in Sherwood Park.
This place is amazing. So MANY GLUTEN FREE OPTIONs!! For someone that s been celiac for years, this was such a pleasant treat! They have deep fried sceller to die for.. and the onions are GF, plus the fish! I am so pleased with my experience, will be back! Dietary restrictions: Many many gluten free options!
What a fantastic place !I ordered the halibut and chips with coleslaw and it was delicious! You know it s good when the wife who doesn t really like fish and chips eats it all up and states how good it was! Highly recommended I will be returning again shortly
Very tasty fish, will definitely make another visit.
Absolutely perfect Fish and Chips! And no problem for gluten free patrons, Winstons has a separate fryer and knowledgeable staff. Well be back!
Fast, friendly staff granted it wasnt that packed when I went. Fish size is like a fillet I ordered the one piece salmon meal deal which came with coleslaw and fries. Really, really good, hit the spot. I just moved out of my parents home and was missing a nice warm meal and this was just what I needed, thank you.
Got take out, the pieces of salmon were massive, and the price point was on the low end for a piece of fish that large. I haven t had good fish n chips like that since I was a little boy. I want to dine in next time.
Just had a great meal, freshly cooked crispy haddock, chips and mushy peas. Very authentic British taste. Service was excellent, extremely friendly. Will be back soon for sure Parking: Lots of parking out right front
Could not be happier! First time trying out the food from Winstons as Ive heard so much about it, especially as someone who is on a strict diet, hearing about the gluten free options sparked my interest immediately. The batter on the fish (I had the Atlantic cod) was perfect. A lot of times gluten free batter doesnt like to stay together but however they make it, it was oh so good. Same with the onion rings! The fries were spot on as well. Still soft on the inside but had the right amount of crunch on the outside so each bite was satisfying. Coleslaw had the right amount of dressing, never tasted overly dressed like some other joints tend to do and everything felt fresh. A new favorite spot in town and I encourage anyone looking for high quality fish and chips checks it out!
Fish was good, fries are frozen not homemade which is a big let down. Dressing was gross. Very expensive!
Great food. Staff was very busy but service was great.
Great fish and chips. Service was good.
Received a good portion of fries. The cod was good. Prices a little on the high side.
Great place for some fish and chips
