Simcoe Arms in Simcoe

This was our go to restaurant. The last time we ate there it was like eating at mcdonalds. The burger. Was tiny and dry and my wings were like chewing on raw hide. We also had to wait over a half an hour. The last. Time we ate there the burger was so thick and juicy but a little pink. This time my husband asks for well done. Unaware that it was a skinny little McDonalds Patty, so it was dry as a popcorn fart. His french fries were like little bits of the bottom of the bag. When my husband complained about the burger Patty, the woman kept saying well you ordered it well done. We didnt know it was gonna be a skinny little frozen patty. So very very disappointed.

I wouldnt recommend the reuben. Its on very slightly toasted white bread, not rye. It has what I believe to be a cheese slice on it for cheese and the cabbage didnt resemble sauerkraut

We had an early dinner here. I had a mushroom, Swiss steak sandwich and a bowl of soup recommended by the waitress and my partner had some kind of chicken wrap. We both enjoyed our Mia and the recommendation of the soup was amazing. A terrific first visit to Simcoe Arms.

Stayed in Simcoe for 2 weeks...tried other places...The Arms was my favourite. Sat at the bar usually, the girls are nice bartending and very friendly. Food

One of the better bets around Simcoe. Not fab, but consistently adequate. Comfy atmosphere is its top good point, but food is also better than most local (chain resto) offerings.

I am completely in shock by the behaviour from the lady that called herself the manager at The Arms in Simcoe. I chose to spend our hard earned money for dinner for my family at their establishment and this is the treatment we were given. My husband called to place a delivery order for food and she told him they dont deliver. I know they deliver because weve ordered there before, and unfortunately the last time our food wasnt the greatest but my husband likes their wings, so we decided to order again and give it a try. I called back and asked for delivery and spoke with said manager Linda. I am completed disgusted by her attitude over the phone and lacks customer service. She said that she wouldnt be able to do a delivery order because the kitchen was busy, then I informed her that we have placed a delivery order from there before, so I ont understand why we cant order now? She said the kitchen was busy and we could call back after 7pm (in 10 minutes) why couldnt you just take my order and put it in after 7, she agreed, but was very rude. I then told her that our experience the last time wasnt the greatest, that our food wasnt hot, that we had missed items, she then said why do you keep ordering from here! Pardon TF!? I am absolutely appalled at her mannerism, her attitude and her disrespect towards a paying customer. Shame on you Simcoe Arms! Service and food quality have gone down hill at this place. Do better Simcoe Arms, not very polite!

The food was OK. Fries were a little cold. The pasta was kind of bland. It is a good bar with a nice atmosphere, but I was not a huge fan of the food. Maybe I just ordered the wrong items though.

First experience at this pub . Had fish n chips , bangers/ mash and jambalaya fettuccine . Waited a while for food . Fries were not hot and overcooked . Fettuccine was over sauced . Was a bit disappointing . Only one waitress at 3:20 .

Attended multiple times over the years, service tends to be slow regardless of time of visit. Menu and food quality are mediocre, value is on par with service and quality.

Ordered Cheese Steak Flatbread which fell flat. There was 1 tiny piece of meat. The waitress took it off my bill. She gave the experience enough to leave a tip, and I will give them another shot

The food came out only warm, once again could only be me I like hot food served. The mashed potatoes were dry. The steak was ok. The thing that got me was the rings on the cups, soap residue, hard water, about the height that they were stacked on each other. If thats soap...its on the dishes too...made the visit unpleasant. They were busy, had to wave down the waitress for help

Was here for the first time having a mothers Day dinner with 3 others and we all had different meals. All dinners were delicious and were large portions. We will be back.

I will never go there again. We have gone there 3 times in the last month and been sent away due to them closing theyre kitchen early. If you state your open til 10 then do it. Dont close the kitchen at 830. Youve lost our business

First time in my life I have ever had prime rib that tasted like it was flavored with bologna water. Fresh cut fries? I have my doubts. The 2 chicken dishes were ok besides the dirty tasting char marks. Place was busy, had a timeline to follow so didnt complain, ate and left. Return? No

Ordered new York steak medium rare. Half the steak was blue rare, and the other was rare. Also the steak was cold in the centre so it came right out of the fridge and immediately onto the grill. Waitress got defensive about our complaints saying we ate half of it. Came with a side of steamed broccoli and cauliflower that was not seasoned at all. Packets of butter were placed on top of it, and you are apparently supposed to butter your own vegetables??? Restaurant fries all its food in one fryer. Fries, fish, shellfish, appetizers, all in one fryer. Im happy they disclosed this after notifying our shellfish allergy, but its still a big yikes. Also ordered fish and chips. The fish was not crispy and had the texture of wet paper towel. Came with a tiny amount of fries and maybe a single table spoon of coleslaw. Tartar sauce was 95 percent mayo. Portion of fish was large and good. When we first sat down we noticed the booth shaking constantly from the people eating on the other side and when we asked to move the waitress said that all the booths are like this. You can see where there was an attempt to mount the booths to the wall but the dry wall screws are not fastened to studs so they wobble and move around at the slightest touch Waitress was kind and honest about the allergies and the fryers being communal, but she didnt come around to ask us if we wanted more drinks after our first. Restaurant was mostly empty, and our steak couldnt have been on the grill more than 1 minute so not sure what was keeping her from checking in on us

I dont understand why there is so much of criticism of this wonderful restaurant. Had been here on a cold afternoon on weekday for lunch with a bunch of office colleges. Ordered butter Chicken,a tuscan chicken grilled pizza, a linguini alfredo pasta and some fries. The quality of food was top notch, the waitress was pleasing and prompt in her service. The serving size was generous, the taste was amazing as the ingredients were really fresh. I would love to visit this place again.

Had the turkey and brie panni and and still thinking about it 2 days later! So delicious!! Do think my iced tea at $4.60 was expensive but overall I enjoyed my first time at Simcoe Arms.

3 in our party and everyone enjoyed their meals.

The service was excellent, especially considering we had a large group of about 20 people. The food was good overall. The nachos were excellent, the steak was a pub fare style steak. We will definitely come back here.

Me and my family went for lunch. 9 of us total. Had a reservation and got there to empty tables, ordered drinks and it was still doing okay. It took 30-40 minutes for the first plates of food to come in (3 at a time) and there were about 8 minute spaces of time before all the food was out. So about another 20 minutes until we all had food. No cutlery still. So my sister went to the wait station and grabbed cutlery/napkins. When we finally had everything, we ate. My food was burnt. And so were 3 other dishes at our table. And 1 was covered in oil. Overall a fairly disappointing experience from a place we heard good things about. Good atmosphere and a nice hostess but the food was quite disappointing.

Excellent choice if you are looking for a pub experience in Simcoe. The food is good quality pub fare, with a diverse enough menu that goes beyond the obvious. The service is really terrific, a small and incredibly hard working team of servers who are the reason this is a five star experience! A special shout out to Olivia who is really quite an exceptional server.

Its always disappointing when frozen halibut is on the menu, and we are so close to the lake. Otherwise great. Lots of food! Nice pub atmosphere, but not too loud. Service was prompt and good, house made burgers were large and good.

A regular haunt good value

Ive got to admit that this was a pleasant surprise. Ive been to quite a few of these style pubs and in my opinion they are all about the same cardboard-cutout or carbon-copy establishments. I was taken to lunch at Simcoe Arms this afternoon and I will most definitely go again. If you happen to visit and they are serving the butternut squash soup then do not pass it up. Large portion and absolutely delicious. Great spot, and very good staff.

Was there last night, great service and ambience ,server Michelle was amazing, food was terrible, I ordered fish and chips, they appeared as if they were made hours ago , just refried and served, oil was dripping. Just spoiled the mood I brought it to notice of server and she managed it really well, so over all a great management and server .I will give 5 stars as mistakes can happen but if they manage it well thats where it counts ,but yes terrible fish and chips .

I usually am happy with there food but last night I ordered the peppercorn steak one of the most expensive plates...it was a breakfast steak....so I will never order steak from here again

Came here for dinner on a wintery Friday night. The Arms were full, but there were still a few tables available and we we ere seen to quickly. The waitress checked in us regularly and was sure to warn us that the green curry was spicy. A nice spot with a lot of variety in the menu. (wasnt the best green curry Ive ever had tho) my friends burger was massive and was apparently delicious and came with a generous portion of fries. def worth checking out. Vegetarian options: A variety of salads and a number of vegetarian apps. I think a few mains could be m as de vegetarian. Wheelchair accessibility: Interior is all one level and there are ramps outside.

Surprisingly good meal for wife and I. The price came in a little high, but not exorbitantly so and a far cry from the chain restaurants. Definitely will return if I am in the area.

We went for dinner at 4:45 PM for Valentines on February 13 a day early so they weren t busy we ordered ribs chicken wing combo the ribs were so burnt and black and tough the wings were exactly the same leftovers from the day before I assume wings and no meat left in them they were just over cooked sausage was black and chard on the ends very disappointed Absolutely the last time we will eat there

Had a good time with friends, service was fast and it was nice to have a server that didnt mind to chat with our group. Prices were not bad either.

Chicken Cordon Bleu was ok,but the mash potatoes and vegetables are cold,so I complain that by the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen and threw it in the microwave instead of new mash potatoes,but that was ok so far I m in that case not so difficult anyway she brought it again to me and it was still piss warm Every time the same old song in that kitchen,first they put the mash and vegetables on the plate and wait till the meat is ready and in that time the mash and vegetables cooling down ..., Make sure for example that your plates are preheated or whatever because this costs you customers! And don t think that I pay any dime tip for this kind of meals.:(

Terrible customer service. Went in to exchange order when I found out my takeout was wrong and the blonde Slovakian accent waitress was in denial when I told her it was incorrect. Had no ambition to fix it or offer me anything else. Wont be going back.

We ordered the wings, which weren t the best but they weren t bad! The nachos were unfortunately burnt (the chips), but the fish and chips was very clearly real fish which was a nice surprise! The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was comfortable.

Fantastic food, when they advertise smoked meat they actually do so on site. Food was served in a timely fashion and it was apparent the chefs take pride in what is delivered to customers. Staff was great, service was wonderful. The food was lackluster. If you really like typical pub fare, this may let you down. It almost seemed like they were trying to make their meals fancy or original so they went against the norm. Wouldnt eat here again, but the staff was great so we would definitely go for drinks!

The bacon penut butter burger is amazing, didnt like the wilted lettuce though, if they would of chosen to not put it on and let me know, Id been fine with that. 4 star for that. The onion rings also really good. Phone service was great, delivery was $5 and it was fast.

Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options but do not apply to me. Dietary restrictions: They have a big menu that can cater to all dietary restrictions. There has been the odd time that the door opener has not worked and the doors are so heavy to pull. It has not caused major hardship though

Went for lunch. When we first sat down we were handed the cutlery and the napkins had food stains on them. We then waited 10 mins to order our drinks and another 10 to order food. We had a waitress who wasnt even ours have to come and take our food order. The waitress was overly touchy too and fondled my kids hair . It was really weird and unprofessional. Decor is nice but the staff made it weird and the napkins made it trashy.

Its a popular restaurant with good food. It is quite busy at lunch time but theres plenty of seating in both the bar area and the main room. Staff are courteous and definitely kept busy. Parking: Parking is in the plaza lot.

Brought my daughters for a lunch date today. Great server!! Super friendly and extremely kind. It got very busy very fast and that came with very very loud conversations. We sat in a booth and unfortunately, every time the people behind us moved, it felt like a knee to the back. The food came out in a fairly decent time frame and was delicious. We werent able to see much from our waitress because it was so busy but we dont blame her for that. It was a good experience.

A couple of us decided to go to the arms for supper. I ordered fish and mashed potatoes and my friend ordered liver, mashed potatoes and a vegetable. My friend was quite happy with his meal, and I have been looking far and wide for a good fish, and I finally found it. Wheelchair accessibility: You can wheel in to the dining area without any stairs or ramps, or anything.

I havent been here since 1995, it was good then and its good now ! Nice friendly staff good atmosphere . its a good place to catch a game and a few suds! Maybe a burger !

My girlfriend and I always come here for our dinner and drinks nights. The food is consistent, fast, delicious and reasonably priced. The service is also consistently good, we always get a friendly and attentive waitress whos efficient but doesnt bother us every 10 minutes. Weve went and just shared an ap and had one drink each because of being on a budget or went and ordered 4 different things off the menu and several drinks over a few hours. Were also never rushed which I like, we often eat slow because were catching up and end up staying a while. The brie with roasted garlic cloves, onion and balsamic reduction is something we get every single time and its always consistent. Parking: Its a plaza with multiple stores so theres always parking.

What a great supper! The margaritas are the best ever. The jumbalya is a huge portion and flavourful. Prime rib was spot on, and the au jus was perfect I recommend this restaurant for an economical night out.

First and last time going there. Went for lunch, after promptly being seated and ordering we had to wait 45 minutes for our food, we politely ask one of the servers about the wait to wich she rudely snapped were busy (the place was no where near busy). After finally receiving our order, the food was very disappointing. Very bland and flavorless. The only good thing about it was it came out hot.

We had a burger...it was yummy. The place seemed a bit busy but there seemed like enough staff handle it. I dont know if the entire staff was having a bad day but, wow, no smiles. A lady came out of the kitchen carrying some plates, air cursing who, I would assume was the cook. Everyone was rushing around like the place was on fire and just didnt seem to have time to stop or even smile. Great food though...Clean washrooms too!
