Came into town from Montreal. We were so lucky to find such a fantastic restaurant. So hard to find a non chain restaurant here what a gem! Amazing! We attended a Kitchen Party (dining in the kitchen with the chef and his team) and it was a wonderful experience. The food was great, as always. But the experience was even greater. It was fascinating watching & chatting with the chef as he and his team prepare the meal. Overall a great experience!!!! Kid-friendliness: Would not recommend for kids unless they are able to sit for a significant period of time (2 hours).

We had an unforgettable culinary experience last night at The Combine. Chef Ryan, Chef Robert and Amanda, our hostess, are incredibly passionate about the value of what it means to eat together. We were part of the kitchen party, which meant ourselves and another couple got to sit and converse with one another and the team while they created the most flavourful and thoughtful dishes. Every dish has a story behind it, and every ingredient intentional. You can truly feel the love and the passion Ryan and Robert have for their craft. Incredible, out of this world food and drinks were had, and we had the most meaningful and interesting conversations. I was reminded of the power of food and its ability to bring us together. This is our new spot, and we couldnt be happier to make the drive from Sarnia. So grateful to you all for giving us a wonderful night.

Technically 2 1/2 to 3 stars. Nice place, good server, fast enough. Very little ambiance considering it s a cool old house. ..the music was actually a little intrusive. I had the steak and I ve had a better steak at Montana s which is not saying a lot. This is a $58 three-course meal for that price I expect more than 3.5 ounces of sliced steak with some gravy, a bunch of mashed potatoes and some root vegetables that were hard as a toothbrush. Only a few bites of the steak were actually chewable. And I left a bunch of chewed meat on the plate. My Caesar salad was not super fresh but that s ok. My partner was pleased with her chicken mashed potatoes and root vegetables though. We agreed our desserts (Crème brûlée, cannoli) we re average to nothing special. I think that the average restaurant, and the average patron have settled for mediocre as good These days possibly due to the pressure of being home from Covid. So in the end this is an entrée/salad and dessert for 58 bucks. Given Covid And the pressures on a business, I am More than willing to lower my expectations. But I say hard pass on this restaurant unless you like mediocre overpriced food.

Ordered take out for myself and sons, service was fast and friendly, food was amazing, even left overs for school tomorrow. Prices for quality of food is excellent, ordering from fast food chain would not have been a money saver.

Highly recommend The Combine. We had a delicious meal celebrating Dougs birthday. Our server Michelle was very attentive. We have never been disappointed with the quality of the food or the service.

Just moved to town. Love this place. Every meal I have had has been so impressive. Can t wait to use the patio and enjoy a meal there as well.

I have been to the Combine on multiple occasions and its always great, but our recent visit for their Kitchen Party was phenomenal. The atmosphere was fun and beautiful, the food was delicious and it was great getting to see how its all prepared and interacting with the fabulous staff while they work. I would give more stars if I could. Thank you Ryan, Robert and Amanda for giving us a girls Christmas to remember.

An old family favourite! The steak medium rare is always a safe bet and I love the atmosphere of the joint. I will be back soon hopefully!

Ive been a regular at The Combine since it opened back in 2013 and it is always a wonderful meal--amazing food, wonderful service, great atmosphere! I actually find many of the negative reviews here very amusing...The Combine is not The Keg or any other chain/franchise restaurant. The Combine prepares their dishes from scratch, using local, fresh meat, cheese and produce, often from their own garden in the backyard behind the restaurant, not from large restaurant food suppliers like you see at other chain restaurants. Therefore, if you want quality, you gotta pay for quality but trust me, its worth it! If you dont see the value in the delicious locally-raised, locally-grown, locally produced and scratch-made food at The Combine, then take yourself back to Boston Pizza and enjoy your microwaved meal and forget the negative review. Ryan and the staff at The Combine work too hard, especially in these challenging times, to have your ill-informed opinion make their jobs even harder! Keep up the awesome job, Ryan and staff...The Combine truly is a gem in the local restaurant scene! you guys!

We have always enjoyed The Combine, so decided to order takeout because of these crazy times we are in. The burgers and fries we ordered were fantastic! The food here was excellent. The wait staff was extremely pleasant. The atmosphere is very cozy. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I felt the main dish I got (sweet corn risotto) was a little on the small size other than that though this was a very nice place

first visit on the 25th of Sept 2021...wait staff was pleasant but food was sub par...beef tenderloin was tough and also tendons and veins were present not a choice cut of tenderloin by far...was given a 10% reduction on a $55 3 course meal...should have sent it back in hind site. Will not being going back. There are far better Restaurants in Norfolk County.

My husband and I had an amazing date night at the Combine! Theres plenty of parking, it feels intimate and cozy, and if course the food was divine. They had a great beer menu for the hubby, great non alcoholic beverages for my pregnant self, and the portion sizes were so much larger than we thought they would be. We look forward to making this a frequent visit, given the menu changes every few weeks!

After spending a terrific day at Turkey Point Beach, our group of 6 decided to have dinner at The Combine. Thank goodness we made reservations because the restaurant filled up quickly. The service was excellent, the menu catered to anyones palette, the food was delicious. Our entire experience was amazing. Well definitely be back.

I wanted to order takeout on a Saturday night. I was about 20 minutes away and ordered online. I received a screen that said my order was placed. I arrived at the restaurant and checked my email. The email said my order did not go through and I didn t understand. I couldn t check my email while I was driving. I figured they could order my takeout no problem. Apparently their online ordering is shut down. I received no phone call or anything. The email that said my order wasn t placed came 15 minutes after I placed it. This is supposed to be a nicer restaurant and the lady said there was nothing she could do. I am so sick of restaurants making up hours due to covid that doesn t match their social media listings. She could have even given me an appetizer. The restaurant was not busy at all. Now I have to find dinner elsewhere and have another 20 minute drive home. I passed this place before and wanted to go there. After this experience, I will take my business elsewhere.

Such an amazing atmosphere and the Combine Burger (pictured here) is one of the best in town! Also added bonus is having Hometown Beer on tap.

Food has gone downhill significantly (last time i ate there I got violently ill), the owner has really let this place go and was very unpleasant to deal with. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

A delightful find passing through Simcoe. Great Lakes pickerel and polenta was very good.

Excellent service, as always. The pizza was good, but for the first time I found it overpriced for the amount and variety of toppings. If you re going to charge that much for a personal pizza, it should be overflowing with tasty and unique toppings and MUCH more cheese The coffee, as I ve said before, is excellent. The variety of dessert did not encourage indulgence...but hopefully on our next visit the will have more selection

Excellent food staff environment. Local food when available. They make there own condiments and meat. Michelle was pleasant, knowledgeable and had good timing. Wood stove too, for pizza.

The food was acceptable but way over priced. For the priced we paid, we would have been better off going to DAVIDS in Port Dover.

The atmosphere was really nice! We sat on the patio and it was perfect. The drinks are delicious - even if youre pregnant and cant drink alcohol they have some tasty refreshing selections which I really appreciate. The food was delicious!!! The service was excellent, no complaints about the servers or how long anything took. Would definitely come back!!!

My husband and I were married here in the middle of July this summer. It was amazing!!!! The food was the best wedding food that any of our guests had ever had, the staff were great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Any requests we had were accommodated and everyone went above and beyond to ensure that we had a perfect day!!!!!

Excellent dining with quality food and fresh ingredients in a former house. Reservations recommended. Prices are a little high but overall worth it for the quality and experience. Suitable for families with the kids menu as well as for intimate conversation on a date night.

The quality of both the food and the service were above and beyond! We had a family gathering (~ dozen people) in the front room, which was quite private and you could easily fit a few more.

Service was excellent. Menu very good albeit a little pricey. The deco was amazing and all related to a wonderful antique atmosphere. We will go back thinking that our next experience will likely be 5 stars!

Really nice atmosphere, good food

No one liked cold hollandaise sauce on eggs. Even when we asked for more sauce warmed up, it wasnt any warmer than what was initially served. My burger was good (the lamb burger), but my friends were disappointed with the food. And I was there one suggested this place setting all the reviews.

What a lovely restaurant. We 5 all had a wonderful dinner. Even thought I had my lobster lasagna to go as the one served to me was a bit burnt. Amanda our server, having just heard me say how I was so looking forward to this new item on the menu, very quickly and professionally whisked it off the table and back to the kitchen. Thank you to my family for letting me nibble away off their plates...lol. A fresh lasagna was given to me to take home no charge for either. Always a great family time at the Combine.

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. The food, service and ambiance are fantastic. I didn t feel stuffed even though the portions were very generous. There wasn t the usual thirst for gallons of water that I experience after eating out because of the over-use of salt that some restaurants use. The chicken tasted the way chicken tasted in the old days. I could go on and on so I ll stop here and simply say you gotta try this place.

Great staff, amazing location of the serene beaten path. They have this house Sangria they make with vodka that is great. Had a steak and lobster tail. my steak was awesome...but my dates was rough, I mean really rough. I dont understand what happened there. But over all it was a good experience except for that moment. I will go back again (and make sure my date enjoys her steak before in case we have to send it back to the kitchen which we should have). Other than that it was really good.

Outstanding. Great Service, excellent food choices, very flavorful food. My wife finished not only her own plate but leftovers from mine! And thats rare! Tomahawk steak was delicious and well worth the price. Highly recommended.

We had a very enjoyable meal here. Great with kids. Lovely room and old building - some very thoughtful design choices all over. The kids meal we ordered (pasta with butter and cheese for $10) could have been jazzed up a bit, maybe include some vegetables so the meal isnt all carbs. It was enjoyed however! Immediately, you re greeted, and it is apparent that the staff are passionate about what they do. Fresh ingredients, exciting dishes, and a welcoming but up-beat atmosphere. This restaurant is located in a beautiful old house where you can eat inside or on a the charming porch. I had the excellent Mediterranean pizza as well as an heirloom tomato and mozzarella appetizer. Food was excellent and the glass of house wine for $8 cant be beat!

Food was fabulous. Great portion size for a fine dining restaurant. I had the lamb and the wife had the trout. Recommend both. They also have daily specials. Friday was fermented Friday, $10 off bottles of wine.

The Roasted Mushroom Tagliatelle was a taste delight. The steak was cooked to perfection Tender Juicy and delicious. Service was superb. Atmosphere was candle lit affect and Rustic, Music left a little to be desired. Will recommend to clients and friends. Will return again. Mary Cooper (Almost Home B&B).

Love the staff here and the food is good, but needs an update so regulars can have some variety. The only reason it isnt a 5 star is the seating. We often are seated so close to other tables that its awkward. Some tables are loud and we cant enjoy a romantic dinner or just a quiet night out without kids because we are so crowded. We have chosen other, worse restaurants just to avoid the seating issue

The only reason I rated this 5 stars is because 6 wasnt an option. We have dined here several times, have brought friends from out of town and every single time it is exceptional. The service is always fantastic, the ever-changing menu always has something for everyone, the decor is great AND its locally sourced! We enjoy supporting local business and The Combine NEVER lets us down! Its become our go-to place for celebrations and meeting to catch up with old friends. Even when they have a full house, the servers are very attentive and friendly. Weve never had an issue and have no hesitation bringing guests who drive over an hour just to dine here. Keep up the good work! Cant wait to come back again!!

Ive had some incredible meals here. Really appreciate what this place is trying to do, all the more impressive where they are trying to do it. Cocktails are some of the best youll find in a rural area.
