New to town, thought we would give it a try. OMG absolutely delicious, flavors amazing, cooked to perfection. My new favorite place honestly try it. Only have take out or delivery, but so worth it. See you again you can count on it!!!!!

This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant, but after the horrible customer service I experienced with my last order, I am never ordering from here again. We ordered chicken chop suey and shrimp chow mein. I thought that the shrimp chow mein would be like their Cantonese chow mein with noodles at the bottom but with just shrimp for meat. When we realized that their shrimp chow mein was basically the same as chop suey (bean sprouts) but with crispy fried egg noodles for sprinkling on top, we called back assuming it was a mix up. The lady on the phone was extremely short with my boyfriend and explained that the Cantonese chow mein and shrimp chow mein are different, and then hung up before he could get a word in. So I called back and she started yelling at me saying she was busy. I am 6 months pregnant and her yelling at me made me break out in tears. I asked for a refund for the shrimp chow mein but she just kept repeating that it was our fault for not knowing what they were, and that we should have asked first. Maybe your restaurant should explain on the menu that the only chow mein that comes with noodles is the Cantonese chow mein, and that the other chow mein's only come with bean sprouts. I'm extremely upset with how we were treated. We don't eat out very often and we look forward to when we can treat ourselves to takeout. My family and I have been a loyal customers for years, I've eaten at their restaurant ever since I was a child, and my brother and I went to school with their children. But we will take our business elsewhere now. Very shocked.
I never went there at all to eat. The only Chinese restaurant in Simcoe It was in a place called Hoys on the Queensway. So far it was the only Chinese Rrestaurant I could find. Its a standard north american chinese restaurant. No chinese waiters like in Toronto. Its standard busy during lunchtime open I think till 7pm. Closed on Mondays for some strange reason. I've been here since August I've only visited once so you can see that I don't go back so much..
So wish that this place was a sit in restaurant like before. Miss the buffet. Love coming here for take out or delivery. The owners are very hard working people who get the food cooked to perfection every time🙂
Good service, and inexpensive considering I got enough food to feed me for three meals!
Edit: Since COVID, this has become a takeout only restaurant and hasn't gone back to sit down buffet style dining. The buffet style was the draw. Haven't been there since the change. So disappointing.

If i could give 0 stars i would this stay away! absolutely horrible service the lady who was taking my order is completely rude as i tried to order she started screaming on the phone trying to start a fight and telling to call somewhere else to order food and she told me that if I order from them im not guaranteed my order? Then proceeded by hanging up on me what kinda service is that? What restaurant treats there customers like that? absolutely disappointing and disgusting behaviour.

Every time I order (about once every 4-6 weeks since I moved here a year ago) their menu prices rise. For a single combo plate and appetizer w delivery tonight, it was $40 - meaning it is now officially cheaper to drive to Hamilton and get China Kiki (equal in quality and portion size) than it is to order the same thing w delivery in Simcoe. Unfortunately with Hoy s being bland (except their meat-dominant dishes) and Thai Shan s noodles being gloopy, this the only decent local option A fact GR seems to know and is taking full advantage of. Their price to value ratio has officially flopped.
I Absolutely love Chinese food. If you go there on your birthday you got a free meal with proof of ID. I go every year on my birthday and get myself free lunch.. They used to have all you can eat, but its no longer open to the public its just come in order and leave would you do the covid pandemic. I go there about once a month now we order , Then we eat across the street at the park Parking: Parking is put front on the street.
We always have a good meal here, and take out too.
Havent had The Garden in a long time and they didnt disappoint. Great food!! And lady from the restaurant delivered because cab was closed!!
Yolanda and her family are awesome people. Their food is always hot and take out is enough for the next day. Highly recommended.

The food is amazing!!!! If you re looking for good diversity comfort food, come here it s amazing! The food isn t too greasy and the portions are good for the price. You won t be sorry once you get their chicken balls!

The biggest problem with this restaurant is they have the same choice of food all the time.I realize it is a buffet style but a little variety would be great. The price of the food is good and they give a senior discount.

Went for the buffet, cost 17.45 a person for dinner. The selection was pretty decent, and the food was hot and fresh. Simcoe isnt a city, so you cant be overly picky about the selection of food, buffets are hard to profit from...theyre doing a great job!

Wasint sure about this place cause I had never heard of it before so, I looked it up online because I was driving through simco and wanted to grab some supper. Went inside and was seated by one of the waitresses and right away the owner or manager came over to the table and said I ve been open here 21 years and never seen you in here before . Thank you for coming in . Very nice I thought ya know ? To be greeted so nice that . Anyway the buffet is great !! 5* food and hot and fresh . It is a bit pricy but , it s well worth it when you look at how great of a selection that s there . I will for sure visit the place again . Very pleased with it . It s a bit over a hour drive from Kitchener but , it s a nice drive all back roads to get there so I don t mind . .

Always very nice staff and the service is great. The food was great but a tad cold seeing it was lunchtime that shouldnt be happening. More attention to the temp is necessary. Its always clean and tidy. Washrooms are clean as well. Another good experience but for some odd reason its more expensive than Yong Great Wall in Brantford.

Had chinese take out here, saw it was cheaper so I figured how bad can it be. Well its bad. Bad enough that no one wanted to finish it and its rare for food to go untouched at home. Expected much lower reviews considering what the food tasted like. Hoys of Simcoe or the Tai Shan express have significantly better food.

My girlfriend and I came to this restaraunt hoping to have some good chinese food, but to our shock, there were multiple ants found in the buffet. We spotted one above the hot food, on the glass, and several IN the Deserts/Salads. Needless to say, we were disgusted. I don t normally leave reviews for restaraunts, but this was terrible. I cannot honestly tell anyone to go here unless they are seriously ok with live ants in their food, even if this was just a one time thing.

Soup and the service is good, that is about it. Went there during prime dinner time and lots of the food containers were empty and it was not busy. Very pricy for the quality of the food. Adult and child mid-week dinner was $30, with no beverages only water.

(I meant to give it 3 stars but its not letting me change it for some reason. I have the dark reader add-on for my browser, and it wont let me see what I rate at all. I cant even set it to default for when I try to rate it). Friendly service and pretty good food. Ive never experienced a very spongy and light mini cake before, which was amazing. I felt bad for the staff, though. There was some party event happening at the place, and the people that walked in to take their seats for the party werent very nice to the staff. They would just give a brief Yes or No when answering the staffs questions, have a sullen face, be in a hurry for nothing, and not make eye contact with the staff. Basically the only problem I have with the restaurant is how its overpriced for whats available there, and what the quality of the food is like. Like, the food is pretty good but theres something lacking with some of them. Ive seen buffet restaurants with the same quality food that had a lot~ more variety for the same price.

I am very upset with one of the waitress that work there,how dare you tell my sons girlfriend that if they come again dont bring the baby or stroller,there is alot of space in that place for a stroller I should know Ive taken my son in there when he was little,i hope the owners see this post please do something about her attitude she tall with blonde hair.How about making the place more handicap accessible or wheelchairs not allowed either,just let you know you have opened a very big can of worms!!! See you real soon,with my friends and their strollers!!!!
food is great was a pretty common customer went there every week.. until the blonde waitress told us next time dont bring your baby because hes in a stroller I havent been back there. probably never will again too . The other staff are amazing though.
My favorite restaurant in Simcoe. The food is fresh and delicious and the staff is friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend going here with your friends/family for dinner.
