Food is incredible. Jerk chicken, fried chicken, omg mac and cheese! Ox tail to die for!!! Spotlessly clean restaurant and wonderful staff! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Owner Kathy is not a nice person and wouldn t recommend this business for dining or asking for directions. They do not give the warm friendly Norfolk welcome at all, Very disappointing.

Visited Norfolk County for the very first time. I asked a few people from town and they all told me this restaurant is really good and that the community has really supported it. But, for some reason the workers were not pleased when I walked in. I usually go off vibes, and as soon as I walked in, it felt like vibe stood me up. The person at the register walked away so quick, I felt like John Wick looking for my dog. I asked for Jamaican Fried Chicken and all I got was no . I just wanted to try the hyped Jamaican Fried Chicken and Jerk Chicken. No hi , no smiles, no greetings. But lots of No s.

First of all, this is NOT a Jamaican restaurant, nor is it Jamaican owned. Its just a name. The quality of the food has deteriorated greatly over the years. Although the patties are made in-house, they are not authentic Jamaican patties. They have a curryish flavour to them or something. The staff is not friendly and worse is the Bajan owner who seems never to like seeing my face. One thing I dont do is eat from miserable people who put negativity into the food. Because we are somewhat familiar with the area and community, we also dont appreciate the mucky reputation of the owner. The food itself is sometimes okay and sometimes has no taste, but its most definitely not the best Jamaican food in town. Portion sizes are not consistent either, but price never changes. It is one of only a few options in the area. We prefer going around the corner.

Soup was terrific and spot was clean and welcoming. I ll def come back to try other items.

Some of the best Caribbean food Ive ever had. The food is always delicious and fresh. Everything is made in-house, right down to the patties. JKs is my go-to spot when Im in Simcoe, ON. I recommend trying everything on the menu you can! Give thanks, Kathy, for your continued generosity. Jah Bless

Sooooo good. We come here every time we are working in the area. The Jamaican Patties are amazing to die for, and I always get the jerk chicken club that is on the BEST bread. Definitely a must try. Also the staff is super friendly and welcoming <3 would give 6 stars if I could

Fantastic Jamaican food for Simcoe! Lots of choices all the time! We usually do take out! Last time had the jerk chicken, with rice and peas, macaroni pie and coleslaw! Everything was hot and fresh and delicious ! This is hard to find parking sometimes but when you are there after 5 pm everything else is closed so it s a lot easier. If you have a RV or big truck there is a huge parking lot just down the side road! Vegetarian options: Macaroni Pie, Salads and Rice Parking: 3 or 4 spots out front Huge parking lot one block behind it! Kid-friendliness: Our son loved the Jerk Chicken Wheelchair accessibility: One level

From the Caribbean - this is a poor representation, at least the one time I dined here. The roti was very floury, the jerk was not well seasoned and cooked until dry and hard, I did not like the taste of the curry goat. The service was also substandard, took very long and the cashier was on the phone the whole time. Sincerely doubt I ll be back.

Amazing food, found this place at a festival in Simcoe and would definitely go to their location. 10/10 worth it.

We ordered the jerk chicken and jerk pork. Both plates were delicious and good-sized for a small dinner! The lady behind the counter was super nice! She even gave my wife some tips for cooking a jamaican dish. I was disappointed that they were sold out of jamaican patties, but when we were getting ready to leave, she said, Wait one more minute....the cook threw one in the oven just for me!! Im too full to eat it now, so I cant review it tonight. Will definitely return.

Says closed at 9pm arrived there just pass 8pm and there was no food. CSR below par expected better.

I really wanted to like this place, but it was just meh for me. I appreciate the care they put into the appearance of their restaurant, and the setup they have with the food being dished out in front of you..but the food is lacking something. I got the curry chicken, and it had hardly any chicken and I really did not enjoy the bones and cartilage. The rice was okay. Service was also just okay.

Just okay We really wanted to like this place as we love jerk chicken and Jamaican food in general. We got the jerk chicken meal, the chicken itself was really tough and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day which was really disappointing, it was hard to finish the chicken it was so tough. The flavour was decent and I m sure if we had it fresh it would have been a lot better. It was not spicy at all and we were expecting it to have more kick to it. The rice was okay, nothing special and the coleslaw salad was okay too. I will say the portion sizes were good for the money. The workers seemed like they could care less anyone was in there, had to wait for someone to come out of the back to serve me even tho there was one sitting on their phone at the front, I felt like I was inconveniencing them by ordering food and even being there. Not somewhere I d come back to frequently, but may give it another try at some point in the future, hopefully next time we will get the food when it s fresh.

Had the jerk chicken meal, SO good!!! Chicken very flavourful and tender, rice and peas perfect. Coleslaw fresh and crisp. Finished off with a perfect ginger beer We will def be back!!

Just moved to the area and this was my first visit. The food was fantastic! Very authentic and an unbelievable portion. I came with my son who loved it also. I will def be coming back with my Trini wife as she will appreciate the care that went into the meal.

Only good food spot open late. I visited this area and tried it out. Absolute amazing food and customer service. Patties were amazing! I tried to oxtail first night, jerk chicken next. Great prices too. My only wish is that it was all more spicy, but I understand they would have to appeal to the masses.. 10/10 recommend & will come back!

We went there and staff were friendly and restaurant was colorful. We ordered jerk pork the pork was dried but rice and peas were good. Salad too much water. Ordered oxtail with rice and peas and was good again watery salad. Overall the place is really nice and cleaned.

I had probably the best roti tonight. I wasn t sure if she had jerk or curry tonight. But when she said she had both!!!! And could do a half and half!!!! Delicious!!!

I ordered the curry roti. It was poorly labeled on the menu board. It just says something like chkn/beef on the board. I got the beef one. At first I thought it was too small for $10 but when I got it home and spread it out on a plate it turned out to be a decent size. And it was delicious. Id order it again.

I love this place! Absolutely authentic Bajan food cooked and served by the friendliest woman from Barbados. Last night the two of us had jerk chicken, curried goat, jerk pork, and BBQ chicken served with rice and beans and two small side salads. What a feast! It tastes GREAT .. we added a very hot Bajan pepper sauce sparingly and it really punched up the heat level. We were able to sit on the new back patio with comfortable tables and chairs, and colorful umbrellas. And theres a bar right outside there serving beer, cocktails, and fruit juices. Maybe the music was a bit loud but we really enjoyed the reggae. Highly recommend visiting JKs for a very delicious taste treat.

The Curry Goat and Rice was awesome!

We had a poor experience this weekend. We came in at 5 pm on a Saturday. There was no jerk pork at all so we got jerk chicken. The chicken was very dry - inedible. We also got 3 patties, which were also dry and burnt on the bottom. I dont know if we arrived in between batches, or they were planning to close early. Our first experience there months ago was great. Not sure what happened. Maybe call ahead to order?

The patties were good. Not sure if Ill be back. The woman working didnt seem interested in helping me. Didnt seem excited or enthusiastic to have a customer. Not a good first impression when Ive never had this style of food before.

Had a couple of the patties for take out. They were ok, a little too spicy for my liking (I ordered the mild) might go back to try something else on the menu.

I go here for the jerk chicken and it s so tasty. The ladies inside are so nice and the food is great, always fresh and large portions. Prices are really good too.

The owner of this poorly managed establishment was quite possibly the rudest and most disrespectful human being Ive come across in a long time, and for absolutely NO legitimate reason. Additionally, the food was always poor quality, lacking flavour, and the atmosphere is frankly, dismal. My partner has purchased takeout twice now, and both times were unimpressive. But again, this is largely forgiven: the predominant reason I felt compelled to leave a review now, was that the owner was indescribably rude without reason, and needs a serious tune-up. I hope she reevaluates her attitude, because this is no way to create a positive reputation for your business in a very small town! You never know who youre treating poorly, and the repercussions that could have long term for you.

Me and my family love this place! great food and the jerk is mid which is a huge pro for me! been to Jamaica a lot of times and this bring me and my family right back! jerk chicken, patties and a ting! just wish they had festival other than that amazing! thanks for bringing me and my family a little piece of Jamaica.... right here in Simcoe !!

Having dinner at Jks Resturant. My favorite restaurant for home food away from home. Family atmosphere and fun place to meet people.

I m a regular customer at JK s and have had nothing but delectable food and premium service. My favourite meal would have to be hands down the vegetable chowmein and fried flying fish. A close second - definitely the cou cou. That s not to say the jerk meat options are not to die for and the ground food paired ackee and salt fish is mouthwatering. The desserts are also exceptionally good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy some tasty Caribbean food or persons ready broaden their palate.

If I could rate it 0 stars I would. I called in interested about the different options having never been there before. The lady that answered the phone told me a few things to choose from and I decidided to get one jerk chicken meal and one fried chicken meal. When I got there it was already in takeout boxes ready to go. I didnt realize it was cafeteria style food but i paid the $30 thinking it might be ok... man was I wrong!!! Everything we got must have been cooked hours ago chicken was dried up and sides were flavorless and soggy. There wasnt one thing I tasted that I wanted more of. It was horrible so I decided to try and return it since I cant afford to spend $30 on something Im not going to eat. I called and asked if there was any way I could get my money back since we werent going to eat it so she told me to come back with the food. I got there and lady came from the back and when I told her the situation she got offended and refused to refund my money. We were willing to pay for half. After that she caused a scene and was very rude. I feel robbed. We left the food there and never got our money back. Highly recommend avoiding this place 100%. The lady we talked to is unprofessional and disrespectful.

We purchased 30 dollars of food here tonight. It was disgusting. I had some of the chicken and it turned my stomach. Probably because it is not stored properly from start to finish. I would not be surprised if someone gets very sick from the food. My girlfriend did not even eat a bit and we both did not eat any of the very poorly executed sides. When we spoke to the cook with green hair in the back she insisted that the food was amazing and she would not refund or even listen to us. Terrible!
