We are new to the area and La Hacienda was recommended by a couple of people, and we are so happy we took the recommendation! The food was absolutely fantastic! We are not experts other than the multitude of trips to Mexico, but the meal transported us back to the wonderful meals we had in some of the smaller, remote, restaurants in Mexico. It was plentiful, delicious and all home-made. The salsa bar was fabulous. They need to bottle that stuff! The food arrived really quickly, and we definitely needed to go boxes - there was so much! We have certainly found a regular restaurants for us!
Great Dinner out, excellent friendly and fast service, our food came out very quickly. We loved the salsa bar - spicy but great authentic taste. The fresh juice was good as well.We got a Quesadilla and Burrito and both were delicious - and good portions of food, we were full. We will definitely be back!
The salsa bar was great. Food was nothing special. Food was more like a home cooked meal than a restaurant. I had the combination plate. Beans were bland. Meat was overcooked, and enchiladas were dry and flavourless. The food was not very warm. We were greeted and seated right away. The server took about 8 minutes to arrive. Nachos were dropped off, and we were told to grab salsa from the slap bar. Only one salsa was labeled. One salsa was really hot. It was great. My dinner date couldn't handle the heat. The servers never came for a drink order until after we finished the salsa. That was another 10 minutes after the nachos were dropped off. After drinks were ordered, they took a while to arrive. Our meal order was taken then. The meal actually showed up in a decent time frame. After we had finished the meal, we never saw the server again. We tracked down the host so that we could pay and leave.
Lots of seating, very clean place, the food was fantastic among the best I've in this part of Ontario. The is authentic Mexican not taco bell style. I had the Pastor tacos, delicious, the cucumber lime drink was great, amazing salsa bar, quick friendly service, 5 stars on all accounts
Great little restaurant! Staff are still learning as they have only been open for 2 weeks but the food is AMAZING!! The atmosphere is cozy, warm and authentic! I will be coming back again. Love it!
If you want authentic Mexican this is the place to go. I went for takeout since my craving wasn't satisfied at Lily.s in Simcoe but eating in, or on the patio in a country setting, is worth it. The decor is rustic, colourful Mexicano and I loved the taxidermy, coyote verses fox over a rabbit showdown in the corner. Typical Mexican dark humour bubbles up here and there. Love that. Great space for a date night to a large group. The menu is extensive with the classics and less common. So I got the tacos and they were delicious. Lots of sauces to choose from. But instead of 4 I ordered I got 6. Its a family affair running the place so the teenagers on the cash, taking orders, need some practice learning the menu items because some things need translation. They were very well mannered and eager to please though. Its not Taco Bell or any of the other new franchise attempts at Mexican food but the closest thing you get to actually travelling there. That means spicy if you want to go there at the sauce bar.
Great food, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Love the salsa bar and fresh chips. Just opened, if you enjoy Mexican food give them a try.
Just got to try this place out tonight. They've only had a few soft opening days prior to today. Waitstaff are young and inexperienced, but are definitely making a good effort. Inside is nice and clean. The food was really good overall, the only things I didn't overly love (still were good though) were the shrimp cocktail, and the chicken enchiladas. The beef enchiladas were great! The chile Colorado burrito has a decent bite to it and very tastey! The bistec, birria, and chihuahua style tacos were excellent! Gf also enjoyed her combo platter. New place with a few wrinkles to work out, but definitely looking forward to eating here again. ***** **edit, been back multiple times now, (pretty much weekly lol) have tried pretty much everything on the menu now. I absolutely love their tacos (especially the birria), and my gf orders them shrimp cocktail pretty much everytime. Their young waitstaff have really got everything figured out now (great service!), and the food always comes out quick. Great place to eat!
So glad we stumbled on this gem of a place! La Hacienda has friendly, amazing service and the food itself somehow tops that! The self serve salsa bar was delicious, with several different salsas to try ranging from mild to spicy. My husband ordered the combination platter, and you could tell how fresh the meat was. I got tacos, and boy were they delicious! The Birria tacos were the best, with a nice big bowl of consumme for dipping in. They even gave complimentary chips to go with the salsa. We were stuffed when left! This place deserves 5 stars.

Easily the best birria tacos Ive had (and Ive had lots). Great authentic taste, super cute restaurant and friendly service. Loved the salsa bar with options for takeout as well. Will be back!

Excellent food, very traditional. Well executed and generous. Great value. I wish they had an alcohol license, there s nothing like a cold beer to accompany Mexican cuisine.
Fantastic family friendly service. Great Mexican food and prices. Very clean. Upon arrival we were greeted with home made nacho chips and a salsa bar to help ourselves to an array of different Salas for free. AMAZING A must try Dietary restrictions: If you have celiac you can eat here my brother did with me today. Parking: Many many parking spots

My wife and I had such a wonderful meal, the food was excellent and the service was wonderful,.everything was served quickly and was most delicious! This is our first time trying this establishment and it is now my new favourite place to go, . I have a plan to try all the items on thier menu, so they will be seeing us again!

I like Mexican food but the food here was bland. No spices were used in the ground beef or steak. It tasted more like Cuban food. Service was inexperienced but got the job done. I did like the Salsa Bar.

I was excited to eat here. The food came out very fast and we know why. Its all precooked and dry. I did not find much flavour to anything we tried. We did love the salsa bar. More of those authentic flavours would have people returning. The portions are not reflected in the price. I probably wont be back.
Excellent. Very fresh. We had Enchiladas (beef), Taco (beef and chicken). All very good. Highly recommended. Salsa bar was a nice touch lots of choice.
First taste of Mexican food for us. Husband got the fajitas, all 4 meets , and he loved it. I played safe and got the naacho fries . Other than fries being cold it was tasty. Their complementary chip & salsa bar was awesome. Plan to eat here again.
Been waiting for them to be open. Worth the wait. Extremely impressed with the service, food & atmosphere. Love the salsa bar, you can add your own heat to your order. Will be added to our favorite restaurant list

Great tacos and amazing tortilla soup, very authentic. The horchata tasted incredible good. I am mexican and I felt I was back to my tierra eating in my favourite taco stand. Congratulation staff and big applause to the chef.

We were excited to see this restaurant open under new ownership. However, we were disappointed. We were thrilled with the salsa bar options. Very fresh, 6 choices of hot, 6 choices of mild, all different and very tasty. Lunch came, and we had to seek out our server for utensils. We were the only ones waiting on food. The enchiladas looked yummy. Looks can be deceiving. They were dry, tasteless, and barely any filling. The burrito looked good. It was okay, but the fries were cold. Again, the only ones waiting for food. The server did not return to ask any questions. We were quite disappointed with the food quality. Not likely to return. Its unfortunate as its on a busy highway. Now we know why it wasnt busy.
