Good price, great food and great Service. Its sure that its not a 5* restaurant in the old port of Montreal, but when you go there with realistic expectations, you really get what you pay for. The deadlines can be long, but who can blame them for being popular .

Hurteau is a small canteen, you can eat there and take your meal away. Fries, hot dog hamburger, poutine and we had to call to have our meal prepared and picked up.

Super good, fast and courteous service and whats more its not expensive....the invoice that Im publishing to you we ate with two people on it. People close to the people who do not burden us with our eyes to eat. The food is excellent and the poutine is very good.

This canteen has existed for more than 50 years and it has not changed, the food, the decor, the atmosphere, the prices... they have not changed much... only the staff has changed over time and its still the Hurteau canteen...

Cheeseburger very good for the price, but we forget the poutine. I dont know if it was the oil that was old, or if the sauce had stuck to the bottom, but it was more than ordinary, even considering the very low price. Very friendly waitress. Cheap. A restaurant frozen in time.

The fries are so cooked I could have redone my shingles on my roof and the poutine minus 3 out of 10 and the hot dogs are good on the other hand

Personally, I love this canteen. The food is very good for low prices. The service is fast. When I order over the phone, the order only takes 15 minutes to prepare. The atmosphere is unfortunately not the best, but it does the job if you dont eat there. I give it 4 stars for the atmosphere because not many people eat there anyway. To summarize: I advise you to go there!

Theres no real atmosphere at the Hurteau canteen...its just real fast food! Real fried potatoes, tasty hamburger with real meat....

The service is excellent and the dishes are quality. However, the only negative aspect is the lack of the possibility of payment by credit card, which seems a shame given the existence of services such as Square. Despite this, it is important to note that, for a canteen, they fully meet expectations.

Really SUPER disappointed! For a very long time, it was the best, or almost, poutine in the region. But, last time, potatoes reheated in oil, really disgusting. The kind of potato (fries) that you reheat several times, really the feel or texture it had. The cheese only on top and the same for the sauce. The sauce is good, nothing to say, but the potatoes at the bottom were without sauce, nothing! So, DONE for me! Well go to Valentine or Petit Québec when we get a craving for poutine again.

Aujourdhui 30 juin 2022, la place était bondée de monde. Cet endroit est très populaire non seulement à Sorel mais des gens viennent de partout pour aller manger sur place ou pour apporter.

The poutine was not very good for my taste, the cauliflower in the hot dogs was really dry, the service was fast and it wasnt expensive, no less, it was ordinary...

After more than 20 years of recommending the Hurteau canteen, I stopped by for a visit. Tiny place, not to say microscopic, taken in time. Lets just say that the poutine was far below my expectations. On the other hand, she certainly didnt lack cheese. The fries are good but the sauce tasted watered down.

My first Hurtea hot dog was in 1960, and let me tell you it was the best steme hot dog with mustard relish and cabbage. At that time, poutine was not in existence at Oui and a Coke... I follow now at the age of 66 and I continue to remember... I was raised in Sorel on rue Elisabeth all of rue Prince... And even today I remember it. I have lived in Texas since 1995 and only the good Lord this how I would like to eat a hot dog from Hurteau even the Place has not changed, near the Rio theater... The best place (greassy Spoon) IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!

Coming back from the hospital, I had one of those hunger pangs... the desire to stop at a good canteen, but with winter upon us they are becoming rare... They are open, ready to welcome you warmly, offer you a typical canteen menu. No photos unfortunately, I was too hungry. A good cheese and poutine with a sauce with a unique touch wow!
