Merivale St, South Brisbane QLD 4101, Australia
Pig ‘N’ Whistle West End is the ideal place to visit before a convention, exhibition or show. The premier lifestyle and cultural hub of Brisbane, South Bank, is quite literally at our doorstep. Pig ‘N’ Whistle West End boasts a large selection of draught and craft beers, wines and an extensive cocktail list. With an ever-evolving food culture taking Australia by storm, the venue boasts two distinct dining offerings. The Restaurant and Bar allow for both a casual drink and intimate meal. The newly refurbished Dining Room follows in the footsteps of its popular Indooroopilly counterpart, its concept driven by shifting expectations and changing attitudes toward food.
Delicious food and nice cold drinks, a little pricey though. Great for the odd party and catch-up.
Had a great time, the restaurant was quiet in the dining room. Service was reasonably fast, I'm not a huge fan of the QR code system. I had the beef and guinness pie with mashed potatoes and vegetables with a yorkshire pudding for a side, which was very tasty.
When ordering through the qr codes on the tables we had to chase our drinks twice to get them a few weeks ago. now in thr cafe section my """croque monsieur""" is an open croissant for some reason but the menu didnt mention that at all
Steak was over cooked. Asked for medium rare. And received well done. When I asked for a new steak I got hit with the “ isn’t this medium rare to you. I paid $70 for it could Atlesst be cooked correct.
Great spot for a meal and live sports. Have one of my favourite pork ribs in town. Edit 12/10/24: My original review won me a $100 spend at the venue. Returned today and had a great lunch with my family. New pics uploaded of the steak, fish'n'chips, and ribs we ordered. What a treat!!
We enjoyed our meal here at the Pig n Whistle. It was a little hard to order using the QR code as there was nowhere to take off the mushroom sauce which I didn't want. Finding the staff to help you was a bit difficult. It all worked out in the end though.
Good English pub food. Service can be a little slow and they just pretty much throw things done on the table. Food can be a little tasteless (than goodness for the condiments on the table), but it is fresh and tasty enough to give a go at least once. I have done it now... so tick ✔️... now I can move on. House made sausages and Yorkshire Pudding...Spicy Chicken Burger.... Cheesy Garlic Bread.
First time here & thank god we found it as everything was closed & under construction in the area. Easy to walk to just two blocks down from Cultural Centre bus stop, Museum & Art Galleries. The restaurant is split into two sections - one being more an open air area & the other that’s a bit more indoors but they provide the same service & food regardless of where you sit. The lady who served us was so so lovely & attentive. The food portions were very decent, good pub food variety menu & easy plates to share if need be. There’s plenty of space for prams & mobility vehicles with easy access to the venue. Couldn’t find any public toilets in the area - only found staff toilets - but I’m sure they’re nearby if you ask. Parking in this area is difficult; there are paid carparks near by & in surrounding streets pending construction at the time. There are buses that stop nearby - 199, 197 & 60 City Glider. Overall great place to eat casually no matter the group size or for a quick bite on your own.
Food was average and not enough staff. Table was dirty.... asked 2 staff members to assist with cleaning and waited over 20mins. Overpriced and charged to use the app at the table
I went for a beer, and the atmosphere was okay. Staff were friendly enough.
Always a great visit to this Irish themed bar, nice beer garden attracts a good crowd. Food is awesome
Great atmosphere for gathering, pizza is better than some of the italian restaurants in the area.
Food was great, fight (on the screens) was not! Hehe. Great place and great venue.
Food pretty terrible, every egg on all 4 bacon and egg rolls were overcooked, the yolks were rock solid. Not sure why the rolls were served with a side of garden salad leaves. One persons breakfast was just completely missed/forgotten. The full English was a terrible representation of an English breakfast, no hash browns, mushrooms, sausage or tomatos. Eggs also overcooked there too. Wouldnt go back again unfortunately.
The quality of the burgers here is one star
The matey who works behind the bar with long hair - nice guy [gave this review just to say he s a nice guy and good service]
Great pub
Dinner with friends, booked for 6.30pm in the dining room and noted we needed to leave by 7.45pm Arrived at 6.30 and ordered before 6.40. We were still waiting at 7.25 when we had to ask the staff to chase our food. It arrived at 7.30 so we had to bolt it down and run to our show. No reaction from the staff who had to be reminded to get us cutlery! Staff are very poorly trained in bringing out drinks and food. They just stand in one spot and try to pass stuff across the table in front of others at the table. We insisted that they walk around and place food and drink properly. They also have a very poor attitude and obviously dont give a shit about the people who pay their wages. We agreed that we wont be going back.
My mum and I received excellent service and delicious English Breakfast tea and an iced chai latte this morning. We sat in the Pig n Whistle section that was across from the Pig n Whistle section/area with the bar tap. The woman that served us was attentive, patient, kind, lovely, genuine and thoughtful. You were the only one working when we arrived at about 9:30 am this morning and still the only one working when we left about 45 minutes later. Thank you for helping us to have a great, bright and happy start to our very long day.
Cancelled our order without telling us. We waited an hour for food only to be told yeah someone cancelled your table so we threw all your dockets out 0 apologies or sorrys Didnt even refund us at the counter, we were told it would get refunded later and we had to leave without knowing if we were refunded. There was no offers of an apology or anything and I left this place crying
Good place to grab a drink.. food was good too..
Fantastic pub meal. Sirloin was absolutely perfection, over and above all expectations for pub steak lately anywhere
Steak and lamb were super tasty! Me and my bf loved them.
Ace
Great spot, had good love music when I was there.
Always a good spot to enjoy a team dinner
Was there in Grand Final day AFL, so super packed. Our error is on ordering a pizza before a certain time. We did not read the menu to see that part. All is good as we ordered something else, and as the waitress also took out an order for pizza, we got a free wine, so we are happy with that for service. Only there for nachos and a drink, each but spacious, great service, and we will try and go back another time for dinner.
Love this venue for sporting events, great food, great service and fun atmosphere.
The food was good although the service was very slow (but it was Friday evening & busy) - We only had 2 drinks: One beer & one glass of red wine. I paid by card & didnt check the price, but when I checked my account they had charged me $32:79 !!! - Beware of the rip off bar prices.... or check first.
Good steak and wine. Cater for large groups.
Yuck
$27 worst hamburger. Over cooked and lean on everything else
A bit slow to provide coffee even though it wasnt busy
The prawn chorizo pasta was seriously the worst meal I have had in a long time. It tasted like it was cooked in Dish water. The 2 prawns (only ate one) were not fresh and not veined. I only ate 2 mouthfuls and couldnt eat more. Hubbys chickens wings were also ordinary. Waste of money. Get a new chef
Fruit growers don t lie Fruit people, Tainan ate it, , and Shang Cai also managed it
It tastes terrible... I forgot to bring the dishes. The steak was small, expensive and tasteless. The pasta was sour, bitter and salty.
Food was sensational, in fact the best we have had here since April. Cannot fault the service location atmosphere nor price. Very well worth every cent.
Worst Aperol Spritz ever cost a fortune ($20)for a glass of ice with so many orange pieces there wasn t much else. So disappointed good atmosphere but don t waste your money!
Over 40 minutes wait for a Beef and Guiness pie?! I think theyre brewing the Guinness for it.....told when we enquired the wait time is an hour...maybe let people know before they order?
Love the food. Atmosphere was great with live music. Went 2 nights in a row
Great location, food and drinks were fairly ordinary. Ordered using qr code at the table and food arrived before drinks.
A great pub and great selection of tap beers
Appalling service. Digital ordering wasn t working when we went. But I can see why they have the system, because human ordering didn t work either. The staff forgot part of our order and that meal never arrived. When after an hour we realised it wasn t coming, the staff blamed us, saying we had not ordered that meal claiming, in effect, that the person who didn t get their meal must have queued up to the bar and then said nothing. We were attending a large conference nearby at the convention centre, and we re happy to spread the word to other delegates not to go there. Interestingly, some already knew the Pig and Whistle has a poor reputation. Wish we had known before we booked. Never again, and we will warn everybody we know.
Nice venue.
The food was great a bit expensive and the service was a bit slow considering was not that busy.
Beautiful atmosphere, but the food came out rushed in the incorrect order and unfortunately gave a lot of people stomach pain
Generally quite unsatisfactory. The chips were soggy and cold, the burger buns were stale, the steak only warm. The table was left with all our uneaten food until we had to ask for the table to be cleared. It wasn t even busy. The staff were ignorant and untrained. It s not hard. Extremely disappointed.
Very disappointed with the food. Cold and bland. Didnt eat most of it because of its flavourless cold heated up prepacked meat!
Great atmosphere
Went twice during our visit to Bris. The lovely young barman was so nice to my adult son who has autism. We enjoyed a nice lunch and then came back with friends on Friday night with friends. Nice service, the mushroom sauce for steak is amazing and the service was lovely. Music on Friday was nice, but not too loud to make catching up with friends impossible.
Food was a letdown. Beef and Guinness pie was dry, with burned contents stuck to the side of the pot. Zero atmosphere and nothing British about the place except the name.
I came in for breakfast on my way to the airport & there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. Wayne the server was so kind, gave me my drink immediately however it took over 45 mins till i received my food. The 2 female chefs in the kitchen seemed to be in slow mode. Wayne offered me a free drink upon departure & continued to apologise for the delay. Meal was lovely once it arrived but the delay was beyond a joke. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp access available
We waited just over an hour for our lunch. When it came out it was just... dull.
I went in for a quick drink on Saturday afternoon. It was busy and had a decent vibe with most patrons watching various football codes. Even though it was quite full the bar at the time I went only had 1 person ahead of me. That person was served, but when it was my turn I was completely ignored by the server. He was more interested in filling the eftpos machine with paper. Fine, it needs to be done, but a simple acknowledgement of my existence would have been nice. I was left hanging for an eternity until someone more senior noticed and came to take my order. Not a pleasant experience. Customer service is not a forte.
Good pub food, QR code to order from table which makes things easy. Nice and easy dinner option. Did pay $30 for a parmy though haha
I have been to a few of the others, nice one convienant in the city. The guys was so good would for sure eat there again!.
We stopped in for a meal of fish and chips. It was great!
Very nice staff in the Cafe type section. Very helpful, friendly and apologetic. My food took a while but they were busy, steak was decent but definitely over priced for what it was.
Always yummy, comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend / will definitely be back. Thanks
Loud. Ordered a nachos. After 25 minutes I went to see where it was. They gave it away because they couldnt find us despite us telling the woman where we were. No beef, almost no cheese. Very small serve. Not going back.
Wait time on food was abit to long otherwise great
The chicken wings were absolutely top notch. Highly recommended!
Nice staff
Bowl of chips were not worth the $12 we paid for it. Asked for a jug of coke no sugar and as I was paying was told it was pepsi max. Guy at the bar wouldn t swap it even though we specifically asked for coke. Will never return. Over priced and rude.
Good service and good atmosphere.
The dining atmosphere is very good and makes people want to eat a lot
Top notch, this little piggy sure was whistling after a few Guiness
We headed in for lunch on Sunday. Ordered Our drinks and was astounded at the price of $45 for 3 drinks, 2 beers, 1 ginger beer. When we asked why so expensive we were told there is a surcharge on Sunday!! No where else seemed to charge Sunday surcharge. I understand for public holidays. We were staying in the area for 2 weeks and had planned to use this as our local. We had 1 drink and left.
Very clean very tidy very accommodating. It s like you re a worker you finish work you can go in there and grab an ice cold beer. You re an office worker you can go in there and have a nice selection of wine or a beer or whatever you drink. the staff is super friendly super helpful and absolutely amazing, I ve made it a rule now to come here once a week and especially Kate and Bear for your wonderful hospitality and friendliness
Nice set up and great for people watching but you dont need to sell expensive drinks
Nice lamb shank, not so good surf & turf. Steak was average and prawns still had full shell and head which was a bit disappointing. Kids enjoyed their meals (burger and nuggets). Good atmosphere!
Great venue, great food and a massive selection of beers and wines.
It takes an hour to serve foods, that s unacceptable and we should have gone to somewhere else
Nice ambiance, food is good, however it wasnt accurate whats in menu, one food I ordered was chicken wings and didnt see any wings at all, all are legs if Im not mistaken it says 12pcs received 11pcs. I knew its crazy , first time i count my food this time just to look for any wings. Bit frustrated wings is Im up to.
The food doesn t taste as expected, and the speed of delivery is too slow:(
Great location and ambience for weekend catchup
There were four of us and two meals came out first, both cold. The other couple had to wait another 15 minutes for their food so we didn t eat together. Empty tables had been cleared but not wiped down so it was all pretty messy. Staff were friendly but more cleaning and getting food out hot would be a big improvement
Best location for watching Rugby!
Cold environment. Forks and knives were all dirty - I couldnt find clean set. Small portions. Just a place to drink, not to dine really.
Awesome pub in West End. Download Crowd DJ and take control of the music!
Good Sunday lunch options served up by some really friendly staff.
Not far from our hotel so went there often. Many lge screen TVs televising sport. Food was fine, albeit it plain traditional pub fayre. English menu was a bit disappointing because the ingredients used were definitely not British, e.g. fish was flathead. They used to serve cod.
We found it very comfortable and the staff exceptional. Happy and friendly and great service. Highly recommend
Great place to catch up with mates to watch footy over few beers.
Sorry gang but it wasnt busy, the staff were run off their feet and the steak was ordinary for the price.
Good pub foe before performances or attending games at suncorp
Nice wedges and tap beer
Friendly staff and great meal and beer. I will be back when I am town next.
Nice for a beer, 40 minute wait for ordinary food.
Seriously good food and beer. Recommend for taking your business partners for lunch when at an exhibition. Next to the Brisbane exhibition building
Bacon and egg roll and coffee for $12 is good value. Service was very attentive and super friendly on a Monday morning
Leaguey PNGs who went to school with Ben Hunt lol
Do not order the beef!
Good atmosphere, good service
Spent lots of time here while my wife was at a conference. She likes the food menu with the british theme.
Staff were lovely and happy. We felt great. Then the meals arrived. They were presented well. Thats where it ended. Overpriced and tasteless. Barramundi was overcooked and not seasoned at all. The Yorkshire Pudding was a huge fail. The Guinness Pie was ok. Nothing special. Meals were overpriced also.
Nice steak kebab and chips with mushroom sauce
If you are happy to pay $26 for a very basic beef burger, not much bigger than a slider on a less than fresh bun with a small serve of fries then this is the place for you! Beer was good, service was good but $79+ for 2 burgers and 2 pints was not at all good value for what was delivered. Disappointing.
I would not be in a hurry to return. While the venue is very nice with great ambience, the food service was well below average. Members of our party ordered minutes apart. But on account of two staff using the same log in (which was disclosed when the person serving us had trouble entering the order), they got vastly separated and somehow ended up on different table numbers. One meal came out and was finished and cleared, then our table number was almost taken away as well before the other meals came out nearly 20 mins later. The staff member dropping food was then reluctant to leave the food due to the table number mix up. While the food was okay, the Parmy was quite well done in looks and dry as if it had been waiting to be brought to a table. We understand that these things can happen. But on a night where it s not that busy, and there s a table with one meal and a number still waiting, it would have been good if staff had the forethought to check in with the table and the kitchen. Given there are so many other restaurants in the area, it was a disappointing experience. Especially when we made the choice to attend based on the establishments good reputation.
Decent pub with British orientated menu. Great place to watch football (the round ball variety) as they have a big screen. Typically priced drinks and food for a city pub. The staff are friendly and service is quick.
Nice place to visit on the South Bank side. I didnt get a chance to stay longer as I was due to leave Oz early the following morning.
Absolutely appalling behaviour from the manager Ryan. I ordered outside on the table using QR code as I was alone with my children. There was no kids burger on the menu so ordered a large one at $26. I went in to ask for water and found out they had a kids menu thats not on the QR Menu! The meal had not yet been brought out and they refused to change it or put 2 kids burgers through Instead and expected me to pay a whole other $32! For 2 kids cheeseburgers. Zero cares given by this manager. If U could rate him 0 stars I would! Place was empty on a wed night you think they would look after the smallest customers.....spent $70 for one burger, one plate of Vegetables and a drink. P&W used to be a favourite when coming to Brisbane, they will no longer be getting my money
Pretty good pub food. Plenty to seating inside and out. Reasonable prices. Service is fine. A good pick for a casual meal or catch up with friends
Not the best pug n whistle but beers are cold.
Ive eaten there a few times now, and the food and service is always great
In town for the week on a conference and attended this venue with my better half for a Sunday morning brunch. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and she the Croque Monsieur. Given the venue was pretty quiet, about an hour after we d finished our coffees we were wondering where our meals were. A quick inquiry revealed that they had lost our order and that of the couple on the next table. An extremely apologetic staff member offered us a beer as compensation, which we politely declined given it was 10.30 am and all we really wanted was the food we ordered. What followed then was champagne comedy gold. First came a plate on which was a tablespoon of baked beans, a rasher of cooked bacon and a fried egg. We just laughed. Next came another plate with some smashed avocado toast. More laughter. After giving the staff further guidance - out came 2 plates of eggs Benedict. We conceded. Getting 50% of what we ordered after 100 mins of trying was the best we were going to get. If you want to drink beer and have a laugh on a Sunday morning get yourself to this place.
Just there drinks and live music
Food was great! Loved the setting. Very relaxing
Great space for a group I enjoyed my wings and there were plenty of choice Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space between tables Food : 5/5 |
Fish and Chips was more batter than fish. Grilled Chicken Burger was over grilled and the bun was borderline stale. Meals arrived about 10 minutes apart. So one of us watched the other one eat. The guy that served us was amazing though. He was cheerful and made me feel good. He greeted everyone like they were his long best friends. Made up for the less than satisfactory food. Back of house let down the front of house team.
A lot of money to pay for a less than mediocre dinner.
Food was horrible and very expensive, the beer was at least cold.
Went for breakfast on a Sunday. Ordered two coffees, smashed Avacado and Croque Monsieur. Service very slow. Tables not clean. Food average at best. Smashed Avacado was okay but Croque Monsieur was basically a slice of ham on a croissant. Not what I was expecting and even before I took a bight the waiter apologised if it was cold! Next table sent all their food back. I would say definitely avoid this place!
Doesn t even stock Corona beer, and haven t for the last three months, I avoid this place as much as possible for that reason.
Pleasant place to have some food and drink, waited 45mins for lunch when they werent particularly busy. The fish burger was overcooked and dry. The chicken salad had very little chicken compared to the cost of the meal. I asked the waitress to change the television channel to sports which during the hour I was there never happened. I may have stayed for longer but was disappointed with the food and service.
$30 for fish and chips. I know Pig is over priced but it s gone to far now. $106 for lunch for two is outrageous. Food undercooked, thrown on a plate together and the Guinness looked like it had been sat there for 3 days and then served. Stay clear if you value not wasting money on a themed pub and it s incredibly poor food
Had the rump steak, delicious. Handy location next to the exhibition centre.
Came here for lunch and drinks, left disappointed. Meals took 45 minutes, came out undercooked and cold. Let a staff member know, the staff member could barely speak english, went to her manager and came back 10 minutes later to say we could have a refund if we went inside and lined up. When asked to speak to the manager, the worker looked at us and started laughing and walked away..
Always good
Friendly service, great atmosphere. Nice stop in for a chat and beer.
Great meal out by myself. Much better service than Tai Tai where they were rude and made me sit at the bar as I was eating alone. Really good customer service here - thank you for making me feel welcome.
The food always are great and the beer too. But the services tonight was amazing, great service from MJ! She and the singer the best!!
I was charged twice for my burger. Wouldnt rectify, offered to put in takeaway container only. Service at bar was so slow and staff had no idea what they were doing. Will never be back again.
Great food but no veg on plate! Wonderful staff. Needs pool tables. Food : 4/5
We popped in for lunch on a rainy Tuesday and found the atmosphere cosy and friendly. My partner and I ordered the roast beef and bacon butty to share. This also came with chunky chips and sauce. The food was absolutely delicious! The staff were so attentive and no request too difficult. We note Vegan options also available. We will definitely be back and definitely recommend.
Terrible. Steak was honestly the worst I ve had in a decade.
At 1330 on a Sunday, during the Brisbane Home Show, there was a 90 minute wait for food. We left.
Nice pub good friendly staff
I had the Eye Fillet with Red Wine jus, but swapped the mash and veg for chips and salad. Chips were great, salad was fresh steak was beautiful. Staff were friendly and it was a breeze to swap the side.
Service was exceptional, very polite and friendly staff. I just couldnt get behind the food, unfortunately. It wasnt terrible, but it wasnt good either. It definitely wasnt worth the cost.
Totally disappointed with this Pig n Whistle as the whole experience was very poor. We had to wait 50 minutes for a couple of burgers and fish and chips & when we finally got them the food was almost inedible. Overcooked fish and the burgers, as described by my son was the worst hed ever had. Will not be returning and advising people not to eat here !
Quality pub food in a happening joint. Have been past numerous times but never stepped foot inside, and I was surprised to finally see how big the place is with its various seating areas. We visited on a Friday night and the main section was pretty busy and giving happy vibes with the live singer providing tunes. Opted for a seat in The Dining Room area for a quieter environment, but with better lighting than the Grenier Lane Bar section. Our order: * Love Buds plant based schnitty, $33 - w lemon, chips, garden salad * Middlesbrough chicken parmo, $30 - w béchamel, cheese, chips, garden salad * Flash fried calamari, $21 - spiced salt, lime, aioli * Kids Fish, $12 - battered Atlantic cod, chunky chips, tartare, lemon * Lemon lime bitters, $5? Not sure why but the QR ordering wasnt available and once I got to a staff member at the bar I was told there was a 45 minute wait on food, which turned out to be pretty much on the mark. All the dishes were great though, with the calamari and the fish in particular impressing us - the calamari was very tender and the fish batter remained crispy to the last bite. We thought the Love Buds schnitty was quite good too as a meat alternative, and gave the real meat parmo a good challenge though the chicken still won by a nose. The cheese element did give it the edge though so maybe next time Ill get 2 parmos and swap one schnitzel out for a plant based version. Meanwhile the straight plant based schnitty itself is currently available as part of a buy 1 get 1 free promotion so go try it before the end of March.
Service is rubbish no Guinness and waited a good 20 mins plus for a coffee and food The food came before the coffee not good
My sister and I enjoyed a great meal here and would definitely visit when were next in Brisbane
Lunch out on 17/4. Took over 50 minutes for food to come and that was only because we prompted waitress. As the place was virtually empty, there was no excuse for such a delay. People sat down 10 mins after we ordered and got served and left before we got served. Food itself was poor and lukewarm. Steak was $2 quality and full of gristle. Very poor value overall and there is no way we would go back.
Food is great. Mostly self service but found waitresses were not very attentive.
The food was tastless so dont waste your money coming here, we did give 2 stars for the cold beer. When trying to eat we were contending with the flys. Do yourself a favour and dont come here
best wings of my entire life
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Place was a bit too dark. Food was not impressive. Ordered a steak to be medium I got a charred one.
Absolutely awful. Go elsewhere
50 minute wait for an overcooked steak and burger. Went in for a quick bite before a show at QPAC and had to rush the food when it finally came.
A must place to stop at. Very friendly staff and casual atmosphere.
The big manager behind the bar was helpful in choosing a drink for me. Cheerful and helpful. Ended up getting a pint of Guinness.
Delicious food, great live music and good wine
Food is amazing especially the Gamberoni Pizza it s a must. Chefs and staffs is friendly and easy to deal with
Their Calamari is the best. Bar staff and chefs are friendly and they made a good cocktails.
Have always been a fan of Pig n Whistle Eagle street, but this was a huge disappointment. From arrival where staff could hardly speak English to our food taking an hour to arrive, most of it cold, the steaks over cooked and cold and the chips like warmed up frozen chips now cold . Will not return.
It was okay, small meals, a bit overcooked, probably because it was busy with an hour wait time.
I came to Australia and visited many cafes and restaurants. They were the most friendly. This store was very friendly and attentive to me. When I visited on the first Tuesday, the female employee took great care of me, which was very touching. Then, when I went back on Thursday, the male employee was so friendly and funny. I tried to make this work enjoyable. It seemed like he was doing it. Thank you for giving me good positive energy in the morning as I live a crazy busy day. I will go there often. The only thing that was disappointing was the wifi, but if it had wifi and friendly staff like this, I think it would be a good place to bring my computer in the morning and get energy. Sir, if you provide wifi, I think I will frequent this place more often.
Love dropping in here for a quick but, or drinks with friends. Never disappoints
Where to go when you dont know where else to go. We had Fish and Chips and cant complain.
Nice place for drinks and delicious snacks too
Ordered prior to everyone else in my group and recieved my chicken schnitzel last. The gravey (if you could call it that) was like an Indian curry sauce (couldnt eat it). Dont think I will be back.
Lovely venue, super clean and friendly staff. Fast service. Comfortable seating and nice atmosphere
Chips and calamari were really good serving size was mid, price was a bit high including for the beers but where isnt these day? Staff were friendly atmosphere ok, the place was packed so I could see what the decor even looked like
Fantastic venue, live bands, great beers
This place is always empty. Not a good vibe
We made a reservation for lunch. We were seated by the window in the comfort of the AC. The service was fast and friendly from bar to table and received as requested- entree and mains together. Food
A great meal Came out quickly and was delicious Music was a little too loud through Parking: We had to pay 25 dollars at the council car park
Good steak
Good food and service
Very disappointing! Booked in advance for New Years Eve. Only 5 of us but too many people for a table in the dining room, REALLY??? It s not like the tables are bolted to the floor people! Our Son ordered his meal within 3 mins of us, yet had to wait a further 30mins after we received ours & then it was cold & steak over cooked! It s fair to say his mean was left sitting around until someone found it. Can t use the excuse that it was a busy night as there were more empty tables than not! I can see why now. Definitely NOT the standard I was expecting especially given the prices being charged! 1 star for location.
Me and my family went for dinner yesterday (1st January) Waited 50 minutes for the food and it s served cold. We can even hear someone swearing from the kitchen on the service time. Very disappointed. Food
Met up with a mate just before Christmas. It was like a ghost town. Not just this place but Brisbane in general
Friendly staff, great food! Head chef is a bit handsome.
Good relaxed atmosphere and food is alright, albeit a bit expensive
what a joke $18 for 8 pieces of squid? im a chef i know squid is $9 a kg. you guys are just money hungry and that s embarrassing. i feel embarrassed for ordering it. shame on you guys edit - for the reply. a typical generic reply that s said on everyones reviews that are bad here. we def won t be back luckily for you your in a prime position in the cbd otherwise you would have gone pork belly up by now. wake up to yourselves
Always good food and service
Don t know if it s cause I m from Sydney but the service here is phenomenal. Attentive, friendly and professional staff. It s supposed to be just an English themed pub but meat and wine co Sydney need to come and learn a thing or two.
One of the best places in Brisbane for Kilkenny and Guinness, also tastes great but the service needs work Kid-friendliness: Average
There really needs to be more vegan options. There way no vegan sides at all! We got the vegan snitchel and vegan burger which was a whopping $61! Really really overpriced here. The snitchel was really oily and needed some sort of sauce, there was not enough salad with it I tried to get some sort of vegan slaw salad from the counter, knowing they had the ingredients to do that, but she was super super unhelpful at the counter it was frustrating. I feel a bit gross now because of the overwhelming oil with the chips and snitchel and there s nothing else I can order as a side to help with that. Get some vegan cheese for a vegan pizza and some collyflower wings as a side or something Make a vegan option for the side salad
Service was fine, staff good. Food horrible! Two goes and steak still over cooked and poor quality, especially for a $65 steak!! Pork ribs dry as a dessert and burnt. Served on chips with a ladle of sauce over the top so all you got was soggy chips, and with some gooey sloppy thing they called coleslaw. Entree was passable but way too much sauce in a bowl of chicken wing. Obviously trying to cover the fact they were oner done too. Eat ANYWHERE else!! EDIT Wow! Not even a sorry for the poor experience. Just a generic we will pass it on to our management team rubbish you give every poor review. Can t even pretend to take ownership. As for your renowned service, it clearly doesn t extended to you review responses. Pathetic!!
Good pub spot to meet with friends and watch sports or enjoy food and drinks. There is aircon inside however no fans outside. If its a bit spicy just stay hydrated. A few of us watch the UFC here from time to time. Staff are friendly and helpful and the area is kept clean when we are there Parking nearby can be tricky so catch public transport or allow enough time to find a park.
The strongest part of this place is its atmosphere. Its food is really disappointing and hyper overpriced for what actually comes out. I would not recommend this pig and whistle to anyone.
This place was immaculate. One of the servers, Wayne was very friendly and gave us a great time. He was very apologetic for the extremely small wait. The food was delicious as well. I would recommend the chicken tikka masala and some chips to dip with. Food : 5/5
Great spot for a pint and a bite!
Waited an hour for an over cooked breakfast. Very disappointed
I can t say I wasn t expecting anything decent, but I was still underwhelmed. Tables left uncleared, crowds of cashed up bogans carrying on (though can t blame the establishment for this), and nothing but generic beers and bland food on offer. Oh, and with the QR ordering system down, the line to order the bland food/drinks was probably the most impressive thing about the place.
Wasnt enough service at the bar the night we went so only stayed for one drink, we moved on
I don t care if this was the last place on earth, I would rather source my own food than go here. It took 45 minutes for the food to come out and it was cold. Had someone told us that was the ETA, I wouldn t have come.
Great location and nice atmosphere but unfortunately they only serve pints or pots (no schooners) also the Guinness wasnt great.
