Okay, this is what it is. It's an totally unpretentious Sushi and Japanese cuisine restaurant in Spruce Grove, Alberta. If you need more authentic and usually more expensive food, then head into Edmonton.. but this place is clean, the people working there are friendly, they have decent hot sake, food is darn good especially because the prices are very fair and not outrageous. Had supper for 2 with Spider Rolls, Green Dragon Rolls, Takoyaki, and the starter Cheese Wontons, with 6 oz of hot sake, and tea. Liked it, and will be back soon as it's the closest way for me to get my Izakaya-type fix after relocating to Stony Plain!
Big menu but all you can eat is really limited. No sashimi on lunch all you can eat. Regular menu says all you can eat with all options but then they bring you the paper order sheet and 1/2 of them are crossed out of just missing all together. Service was terrible. Lady hands you stuff and walks away. Guy behind the counter is rude and aggressive when you ask questions. Strongly stay away. Wouldn’t go back.
We just moved to Spruce Grove and are sushi lovers. Here are my thoughts on your establishment. The Nigiri portions are very small. For $2.50 a piece, the fish should be nice thick pieces on top of the rice. Mine were very thin. The thickness of the salmon sashimi are also small. The flavour of the rolls are mediocre compared to most sushi places. The service was slow and we were only 1 of 3 tables. Your establishment desperately needs an uplift of some kind. We have now been to 2 sushi places here in our new home town. I won’t be back to your establishment . Your competitor “It Sushi”. Was a little more expensive, but the quality, portion sizes, atmosphere, and service beats you guys hands down.(worth the extra money) This is constructive criticism, so please take from my opinion and make some changes.
Decided to try boba as I was nearby and craving some. Wasn't even listed on the menu despite being on the front window. Not worth the 10 minute wait. Expected a larger size for $8.95 and the boba pearls were mushy. The sushi appeared to look really nice and the inside atmosphere was cool and clean. I would never order boba from here again.
I just moved here; ordered skip the dishes. I got 3 items that cost me over $60. My order arrived and it was leaking alol over the place, on my foot, floor, sink. How did the skip driver not notice this?? Most importantly, the restaurant should have packed the sauce in his separate container. I attempted to contact skip the dishes and their customer service was awful and told me “sorry there isn’t anything we can do” even though I sent them pictures of the sauce all over my floor. I am so unhappy: the food was terrible, especially for the price I paid. Never again.
I visited this sushi restaurant today and the food was really amazing, very beautiful and delicious, if it could be more than five stars I would give it higher.
After reading a bunch of reviews, Me and the wife weren't sure about even coming here, We came in anyway, sure glad we did because the sushi was very excellent. If your looking for good sushi this is one fell into that category for us. Description, Smoked Salmon, dynamite rolls, Salmon, tuna, surf clam, mackerel, scallops sashimi Philadelphia roll, volcano roll There was a UFO piece on the plate with eggplant and some other stuff I can't quite remember but holy smokes was it delicious. If you see a UFO on the menu make sure you order one, two or six, Wasn't a big fan of the snapper sashimi but the rest of it was really good.. All you can eat only on Friday, Happy Eating
I wasn’t overly impressed with the quality of the sushi at Osaka. I ordered spicy rainbow rolls and they weren’t spicy at all. The seating area of the restaurant was really welcoming and nice but I found it kids that the cashier wore a mask but the guy making all the sushi for everyone want wearing a mask. Everything else seemed adequate so if you really want to get sushi go here but if you want really good sushi I’d go elsewhere.
Had the best takoyaki today, December 22nd 2024, here at Osaka Sushi Restaurant! Great spot for lunch or dinner, we stopped for a lunch box with miso soup and Boba Tea. The soup was a great little starter and was a decent size. The lunch tray (beef teriyaki) was served fresh with sushi, deep fried vegetables, spicy spring rolls, and 4 sushi rolls. Filling and delicious! The Boba tea was delicious, and the tapioca balls were not too chewy and tasted fresh! We were well tended to by our server and the the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly!
I ate here once before and paid a la carte and i saw on the window all-U-can-eat and they told me Fridays only! No problem i ate and the sushi was average. But I came back for the Friday all-U-can-eat! Well then! to my surprise sashimi is NOT all-U-can-eat they put a limit and was not clear to me! Usually the limits would be on red tuna or scallops or any other specialty items and would be stated by the specific items as there were a few that reflected this and to me that is normal! But NO here we go, I was not allowed to order anymore salmon or tuna or any other type of fish on the sashimi menu! Wow!!! Just sushi and other items but not sashimi. I wished they would have told me that it was NOT all-U-can-eat specifying the sashimi was a maximum of 30 pieces. Yes at the top of the menu category it did state that but I interpreted as order 30 pieces then I would be allowed to order more (after all they did say to me it was All-U-can-eat before I sat down). On the sashimi section there were 3 items specifically stating 2 pieces only right beside those items (I understand that very well as its typical and quite common). I can see they were NOT very courteous about this misunderstanding! Like I mentioned I asked them twice if this was all-U-can-eat and they said yes before i sat down! Needless to say I when I couldnt order more sashimi I lost my appetite and decide to pay and leave! Its a matter of principle not the cost! They were not friendly when i came in and definitely not friendly when i left! There are far better places that actually care and smile and help you have a great experience! I will never go back!
The food is amazing the best in spruce grove and was the number 1 sushi spot. But given that i was FORCED to tip... I will not come back or recommend this place.
I went there with my family and they tried to force the whole table to order the all you can eat menu when a family member would only eat a few pieces so to pay that much for five pieces isn t worth it when I ve gone to other all you can eat places and have been able to order from the regular menu as well I will not go back
This will always be my #1 go to sushi place in spruce grove. Absolutely delicious food, and the owner Amy is wonderful. She always makes our visit so special.
The cost doesnt reflect the quality. there are better options for the cost. the food is fine, its edible, but I am disappointed. Food : 3/5
Delicious
THIS IS THE SLOWEST PLACE EVER. 2+ HOURS AND THEY FORGOT ITEMS The food is okay at best. Waitress ( the older lady) throws her hand in your face and says. Wait a minute. When they are busy. I think there are only 2 people working there. The all you can eat night is a disaster Looks like we will be heading to SUSHI TOSHI from now on. Sure a bit of a drive but I won t wait as long as this place
Hands down my most favourite sushi restaurant EVER. Great people. Great great. I ll never go anywhere else! Food
Best sushi restaurant in all of edmonton and surrounding area. I gave up trying anywhere else cause nowhere compares. The employees are amazing and friendly. I go there so much they remember what I order.
This place, by far, is our favorite sushi restaurant ever. It is truly a diamond in the rough. The flavors are incredible, complex and perfectly balanced, the highlight being the UFO. You must try this: spicy tuna and caviar atop a crispy bed of tempura eggplant. One bite and you ll be smitten. My husband always goes for the tuna and salmon sashimi, but these are our all time favorites: Sakura roll, Philadelphia roll, yam tempura roll, spicy tuna and salmon nigiri, veggie and tuna pizza, tuna tataki. I m pretty sure they flavor their sushi rice with magic. Their agadashi tofu has the perfect complementary seasoning along with the tempura sauce. Definitely come on Fridays when they have AYCE. They do have a cheaper lunch menu, but it does exclude some of our favorites, so we always order off the dinner menu. It s well worth the cost. Be aware the language barrier could be deemed as a lack of friendliness. But their service is fast and reliable and their food is what keeps us coming back week after week. This is our main weekly date spot. Vegetarian options: UFO!!!
Awesome place to eat, staff are friendly and kind and the food is Soo good, got the chicken teriyaki lunch and it was perfect.
Been here twice now! Food has been amazing and fresh, service has been excellent! Highly recommend!
Mediocre food and service. The ayce menu online and physical in restaurant doesnt distinguish lunch v. dinner so I was surprised when the paper to order had fewer items. They did offer the dinner menu which we ordered from. They didnt tell me they were charging $5 for my 9 month old to eat a few baby bites of my husbands fried rice, I got that surprise when I paid the bill. Its not posted anywhere online, in the restaurant or verbally. While the cost of ayce is on par with other restaurants, the quality isnt there. I wanted to try Osaka after rave reviews from a food blog but my family and I would be hard pressed to return. There are other ayce worth the money and infants are free.
Very fresh sushi Try the coconut bubbles tea! Its just so delicious . Its not too sweet but slushy. Food
The best sushi in Spruce Grove. The owners are always super friendly. The service is great even at busy times. I have yet to have a bad experience here.
We came here for their all you can eat Fridays. We had looked at their menu online, and there were many items that we wanted to try. Upon arriving, most of the items were blacked out on the order sheet. Almost everything that we were excited to try. What we did order, was just okay, nothing amazing. My chicken came to me cold, and the udon noodles were nasty tasting. The service was lacking from the beginning, and they only started to pay attention to us once we complained, because half of our food never arrived. For the price we paid, we could have went into Edmonton and had better food and much better service. I do not recommend, and I will not go back.
Good food and good service! A regular spot for us!
What a rip off. Quarter size rolls, over $120 for a pint sized meal. People were nice, ordering was easy, sure wished i would have looked in the bag to see this disappointment before leaving.
Sushi was awful. Everything tasted stale.
They shouldnt have a gigantic all you can eat sign when its only on Fridays
Food is good but the portions could be a bit bigger - all you can eat Fridays is a bit pricey but nice
Did the all you can eat, tempura was cold. Tofu in miso was cold while the soup was hot. Server seemed stoned and was not tip worthy. They also let me know at the end that they charge per piece for leftovers. Wont be back, food was mediocre at best
Food was so delicious and the service was beyond amazing. Definitely recommend getting the sushi!
I have order from Osaka via SkiptheDishes twice now. I absolutely love the tempura avocado. Would highly recommend the Sakura roll and Black Dragon roll. I had never tried eel before, but I greatly enjoyed it. Light fish taste but sauce atop the roll, pairs with the eel perfectly. Beautifully packaged. 10/10 highly recommend!!
Loved this place. High quality food. High quality staff. Thank you Osaka Sushi! Food : 5/5
Have only ordered take out but excellent food and service.
There was mix up with my pre-ordered party platter, and the lovely staff members made me up a large platter without issue. Thank you all for your help, and quick service :)
Always a pleasure to go for dinner and supper, fantastic selection of choices, tastes are amazing. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes its wheelchairs can get here
Went to their all-you-can-eat sushi night. Sushi was great! Servers were pleasant
Very disappointed with the price for what I recieved....never again
We are all here from out of town - and everything was amazing ! The food the service the freshness ! Such a kind atmosphere ! We will be back next time we see in town thank you !! Spread the word such an amazing spot for all you can eat sushi on Friday s !!
Amazing food , fresh and so good ! Service is awesome very friendly atmosphere! A must when in spruce grove
I just called them for information. The woman turned off the phone to my face. After that, the woman said that the owner went on vacation to China. She yelled at me. 0 respect 0 kindness 0 communication skills. They are even like that for a call. I can not imagine their service skills.
The bubble tea wasn t good, I asked for it to be taken off the bill. the food was ok, not as fresh as I would have hoped. The lunch bento box was very small for $20. Wouldn t recommend
The food is extremely salty. Saltiest sushi and udon noodles I ve ever had. Service was poor. Messed up orders. Didnt bring drinks.
Great Food! Awesome service
I love Osaka so much and go very often, I m not a fan of fish but their Chicken Teriyaki Don, Chicken Teriyaki Rolls, Gyoza, and Assorted Vegetable Tempura is so amazing I HIGHLY recommend!
Went for the all you can eat Friday. It was surprisingly very good. It s not usual that all the menu items you get from an all you can eat are good. It is a bit pricy but sushi is usually a bit expensive.
After our first bad experience here a year ago, my spouse and I decide we probably wouldnt come back here. But we decided to give it a second try. Still not a desirable place to eat. The food is tasty. But why am I paying $42/person for all, you can eat when half the food you order doesnt come or they bring you the wrong items and than, get mad at you for it. Service e is also not so great.. We went in at 5pm there was 3 other occupied tables and one left shortly after sitting. We werent asked for our drinks for almost 10 minutes. When they finally brought them we had filled out the order sheet to be prepared after being there for almost 20 minutes now. Our firdt round of food didnt show up until 5:40pm. Missing half of our order as well as some. Added food we didnt want. After our first round we were asked if that was everything and if we were ready for the bill.... Its now 6pm and we still, had another sheet ready to go with a full list for our main. That didnt show up until 630. We ate and than nobody came to see us until I got up to pay, at, the counter before leaving. 2 hours there for poor quality service and lack there of food. Nobody should ever go to an, all you can eat sushi buffet and leave still hungry/dissatisfied. Will not return. Not worth the money for sub par service and food. Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from if theyll ever bring you it.
Went there for my dads 60th birthday and ordered the all you can eat menu, waited an hour and a half for some of the order to arrive. They gave us another paper to order more while we waited for the rest of the food and it never came while we waited another 45 minutes. My chicken teriyaki was cold on arrival and some of the food was not cooked thoroughly. I figured they should comp one person since we didnt get our food and they said they wouldnt charge for my 1 1/2 year old daughter who obviously was not eating the food in the first place(cost $200 for four people). This was the single worst dining experience Ive ever had in my life and advise you to choose a different Japanese restaurant in Spruce Grove as the others are of a far superior quality both in service and food.
Fantastic, as always!
(Great food, fast and tasty. Service was the only thing kinda iffy. Definitely Recommend 2021) Updated food has only gotten better over time and the service has picked up. Is my go to sushi restaurant now for sure. Five stars all day.
Favourite sushi place in town
Love it here !!!!
I thought the place was decent. Good sushi good service, not bad pricing. I would go back.
Great staff and servers. Food was good. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Was recommended this place by tons of people, ended up being super yummy and had fast service each time I ve been :)
A no star would have been more appropriate. We loved to eat here in the past, but not anymore. If you dont want to read a lot, skip to the end - the part about chemicals. Every time we go there we get food we did not order. My husband even took a picture of our order sheet, prior to our waiter adding in one item himself (volcano). Sure enough, one thing came to our table with 8 pieces when our order was only 4. Do that to a couple with a few items and they cant eat it all and then are charged extra for them - great scam they have going there. However, that was not the worst of our experience on Feb 25, 2022. I LOVE salt and one dish was SO salty I could not even eat it. We did choose to let them know why we could not eat that one item. At that time in telling the manager, her only concern was to tell us we would be charged 7.95 for the other 6 pieces of sushi left - FOUR pieces would equate to what we did not order. So, that $7.95 was actually for TWO pieces we could not eat. The most unreal part of this experience though was at the cash register when both the manager and cook were yelling at us. That cook yelled, You ordered too much. For an all you can eat, really? When the reality was that waiter told us that quote, It was too big so he cut it in 8 pieces. Excuse me? We ordered FOUR ONLY. What a joke. The manager even called my husband a liar, that he used an old picture. Lol, her waiter added in one item for us after my husbands picture. These guys are horrible at customer service so be prepared, if you say anything about your order or their food doesnt taste good and you could not eat it, you will be berated ! We paid their extra $6.95, the manager had a heart at the cash register to only charge us that for the TWO pieces of sushi we ordered that we could not eat. Last but not least! I do not know what they put in their food but my husband had a serious reaction while we were still eating. Their food has copious amounts of sauces on their food/disgusting and we have no idea what they add to it. We only have gotten ill once eating there, but this being the second time, we will never go back.
Good food and atmosphere, sadly didnt get to all you can eat as its only available on Friday.
Honestly havent had customer service this rude in awhile. I should have trusted the other reviews before coming here. The food was okay, but 7 out of the 16 items we ordered just never showed up and we got random items instead.
Always really good. Dont order the Calamari though Overcooked and oddly really large, the size of o ion rings. Otherwise excellent. I do recomend
Did not enjoy the sushi rolls most had tempura bits and not much of anything else. And felt that the waitress was not very friendly. Will not return.
Second bad meal at Osaka, food was fine just really bad service again. They are too busy with Skip orders to take care of the dine in customers. Didn t have time to make us a Bubble Tea, what? We ll sadly go elsewhere next time, used to be a favourite.
Gas station sushi is better. Beyond disappointed
this is the only place i go for sushi, they are so friendly and the service is amazing. my whole family loves their food! after the first few times we went there they started to recognize us and they actually took the time to remember our orders. very family friendly, we recommend osaka to everyone who wants great sushi!
Deeeeeelicious
Great for takeout or to sit in. The service is fast and always friendly with tons of authentic and delicious sushi options to choose from.
Amazing food!!
Clean place to eat,its been a yr or so since we ate their, not much has changed but the the high price with usually means quality, but its basic sushi 101 or rice sushi tuna and salmon sushi was ok tasted ok but beaded with alot of rice. Hand cones seemed to have alot of fish but it was loaded from top to bottom with rice cant say much more down to the rolls they Lach luster and imignation plus a little shine to the restraint would be nice service was at a sales pace I wonder if its so you can feel full from rice, but in a pinch it might do!
Everything on the menu was delicious. Great service.
Really amazing sushi. We love going here!!
I ate too much. I wanted to get my moneys worth (40 for all you can eat. ) It was good but quite the challenge to eat 40 bucks in sushi.
The food is awesome and the service was also awesome
Delicious!
Best sushi place in spruce , hands down
Amazing service and wonderful people and food. Would recommend!!
Garbage service, RUDE staff, and over charging! Hardly heard from the wait staff, and the front of house manager...the only lady working there...conned us all into getting the All-You-Can-Eat so that we could sit together with our family friends. If we didnt all get the same deal, she said wed have to sit apart. Dealing with the bill, they couldnt separate anything properly, they tried sneaking in a $5.00 charge for simply having our baby there, despite being too small to eat anything. The lady was rude, condescending, and obnoxious. Food was reasonable tasting. Wont ever come back!
We were a family of 6 , order wasn t taken effectively and missed 2 items which was not a big deal, one of the servers kept on looking over at us as to when we will stop ordering, was nothing like the one in Bonnyville which is a A+ . Worst part was tip was already included in our total as we were more than5 people, I believe that should be left for the customer to decide on the tip amount if they even want to give one. Will never be back
Huge menu, you will find all things Japanese.
the service was so so bad they also completely forgot my girlfriends order she ordered three rolls and only got one and than when the bill came she tried to charge us for the food we never got. also we saw the wait staff maybe 1 time and i heard a microwave in the back and for the prices that s a little concerning. personally wouldn t recommend this
Delicious food and good service .nice people will come back
So good, eat there every time I m in the grove
Food is amazing Service is great Traditional made sushi Took a chance and tried it. Was not disappointed.
The food is always amazing, The best sushi in spruce Grove and the beef udon is to die for, Ill always come back for sushi there when I can afford a day out. Staff are super friendly and accommodating.
Try the sushi pizza options, you will love it. I had the Tuna Pizza and the crispy rice crust is so good. Also really delicious Hot & Sour soup!
Sushi is hit or miss, my friends was warm (she ordered cold rolls) & not very good. We didnt get everything we paid for in our order. The soy sauce they offer is very overly sweet. Other than that my food was decent, but theres definitely better sushi elsewhere in spruce
Mixed feelings about this place. The food was good, no doubt. I hate to give a three-star review, so Im giving 4, but itd be more like 3.5. Service was incredibly slow though. My friend with whom I was dining got his food looooong after mine. People who came in and ordered after us walked out with their food before he saw his. It was frustrating. Will I return? Not on my own, only if coworkers are all going.
Best sushi in town Online price are a bit expensive but it is good sushi :)
Great food and a great authentic Japanese dining experience.
Delicious sushi every time!
Awesome food. Great service.
Such good sushi and at decent prices which is always appreciated. Its nice to have a go to sushi place nearby.
Way over priced was a 22 dollar meal not 40
It was good,
Great sushi restaurant! Their quality is top notch and comparable to some of the best pay-per-order establishments, but they also offer an all you can eat menu on select days. Great value, consistently good. Highly recommended!
They charge for a hot sauce. I like their food but after asking for a hot sauce and they want to charge me for hot sauce what the hell
Love this restaurant, it is one of my go to places to order from. My favourite is the beef fried rice.
I don t know what happened, everyone else s looked great. First time eating from Osaka . Thought beef and greens should be safe and filling. $20. Gets you about 1/3 of a container of boiled tasting flavourless grey meat 7-8 small pieces of overboiled broccoli ( tasted terrible) and 3 half pieces of carrot and mushy onion . Small container of rice. Very disappointing will not recommend or reorder.
Love this place. Very tasty rolls and always friendly service. Our go to place when wanting sushi. We used to stop in Spruce to get it when travelling past to get back to Edmonton, luckily now we call Spruce Grove home and can go to Osaka whenever we want.
My husband and I got the dinner box there last night and got very sick from the food.
Amazing All You Can Eat restaurant with fresh and delicious food all made to order. The service is always very good and reasonable prices.
Honestly never again. The rice wasnt fresh and the fish was tough I was just praying that I didnt get food poisoning. The salmlon tasted decent but for what I paid I felt ripped off, the quality just isnt there. Definitely sticking to the better bars intown
Great sushi house, good atmosphere and amazing quality!
Best sushi in spruce grove!
Really good food and service
Went here a few weeks ago for Fathers day with my wife . I was blown away by quality of the food as well as the massive all you can eat menu. You are really getting your moneys worth if you choose to go here. Just be careful not to order to much all at once. I got the menu and got excited and ordered to much on the first order. If you dont finish all your food you will get charged a bit extra for wastage. Which is pretty much standard for any all you eat place. I highly recommend trying this place out though!!!
Worth experiences, saw a cockroach under the table!!!
Was so irritated to be charged to take our leftovers home. The manager claimed it says so on the menu but our menus were removed as soon as we said we were having all you can eat.
Incredible food, incredible service and a phenomenal experience! Price is worth it in spades! Highly recommend
One of my favorite sushi places. Always fast and fresh.
Delicious sushi and great service!
Awesome food! Love their bento boxes big serving!
Great food. Attentive Service
Love this Sushi restaurant, I ve ordered take out many times and have dined in as well and the food has always been on point and absolutely delicious. The service has always been very polite and welcoming. Highly recommend Osaka Sushi to all my friends and family and anyone looking to get delicious sushi close by!
My self and my daughter absolutely love treating ourselves to dine here. Always great service, and the food has never been disappointing. We recommend it.
Was very tasty only wish they would advertise that they only do all you can eat on Fridays.
Disappointed with the service. We placed our first order from e all you can eat menu but the chef or management kept deciding stop making parts of our order without telling us. When we asked about where our other items were, the server would say oh did you still want that?. I went with a group of friends so basically, many of the items that I had marked, I did not get. If that was the case, I think we should be given the choice to prioritize what foods came out first as I did not leave full or satisfied. On top of that, we were given several items that we had not ordered. The server also did not inform us of last call and just said too bad the kitchen is closed when we inquired again about where the rest of the food we ordered was. As the kitchen was closed, they also would not let us order dessert like ice cream which doesnt require much aside from scooping it into a bowl... Was not worth the 80 minute drive round-trip purely due to poor service. Food was mediocre.
I actually like this place, Ive never had any issues with the freshness of their sushi. The only thing is their all you can eat is a bit expensive especially when you go during the evening, we usually just order a party tray and eat it at home. This used to be a Tokyo Express, I dont know if its the same owners that owned it before but this is my go-to place for a sushi treat. Dont be afraid to go for the all you can eat sushi, just be aware that you do need to eat everything that you order!! (Ive read a few people complain about that but I mean, Sushi isnt cheap, especially when we are nowhere near the ocean and youre eating a lot of it! Just keep that in mind before you start ragging on this place that they charge extra when you order a bunch of stuff and then just leave it on your plate... Put yourself in the restaurant shoes and realize how very rude that actually is.)
This place was delicious. It was clean, staff are friendly and frequently visit table to ensure dining experience and food are good. I highly recommend this place
I was happy to see all you can eat sushi come to Spruce Grove finally, however, the food is lacking. The sushi wasnt as fresh as Id expect from a restaurant serving uncooked fish. Id compare the quality with the sushi from Edo Japanese restaurants (fair at best). I have eaten sushi all over Canada and the U.S. and although we are a long way from the oceans here in the Edmonton area, other sushi restaurants seem to be able to serve good quality fish so why not here? The other point that bothered me is the hostess became belligerent after the second round of ordering from the A.Y.C.E menu. Stick with It Sushi in Spruce Grove if youd like a pleasant experience. They are more expensive but the quality is an order of magnitude better than Osaka, the people are happy to see you, and your visit will become a fond memory.
Went in here the first time with my mom who doesnt eat much so we didnt get all-you-can-eat. Everything went well - food & service so Ill give the 2 stars. I went back with my husband to try the all-you-can-eat menu but it was 2:40pm which causes the staff a lot of distress apparently (because lunch $24 to dinner $34 cuts off at 3pm). Two of the staff were already arguing with another customer when we came in and when she came to us, she got down to business and told us all-you-can-eat is $34 now unless we could order AND finish all the food in the next 20 mins which she added is not possible. Needless to say we walked out.
Sushi are a good size and tasty Good limit of Sashimi ( 30 pieces per pers) Really good sushi for an all you can eat. I would easly pay more for this quality so at 75$ for 2 with tax inc its a bargain The server was also awesome
Food is tasty and fresh. Prices are a bit high but sushi places usually are. Great food though.
Amazing service and delicious food!
Delicious!
Good food and service!
Good sushi at a reasonable price. I like to hit it up whenever Im in the area.
Very good
yummy yum yum
it s ok but pricey
Sushi here was really good. We ate a lotttt lol. They are pretty particular on the make sure you eat it all or you get charged rule but it s understandable given the quality of the fish they use here. Place was clean and staff were friendly.
I walked in to order a take-out teriyaki chicken lunch box, which had; teriyaki chicken, a salad, two spring rolls, five pieces of tempura, four pieces of sushi and miso soup. It was all very delicious and fresh and well made. The salad was actually my favourite part, iceberg lettuce with a tomato and cucumber slice with an amazing vinaigrette style dressing. I was greeted immediately when I entered and they had it all ready in under 10 minutes. Definitely recommend and will be coming back!
Very good - got one of the party platters and it was excellent. Both times Ive ordered from here everything was yummy!
Lovely restaurant, amazing food
My favourite place to get sushi! It s fresh and the service is friendly and fast!
My kids took me out for dinner for Fathers day celebration and the following are my reviews: The sashimi is fresh tasting however we did not get a full serving of it based on all you can eat meal deal. ($36 per person + gst). Grilled squid is good. The seaweed is good. The miso soup is good. The beef ribs were okay. The teriyaki beef is okay. The beef tataki wasnt rare but fully cooked! Dragon roll was salty. The shrimp and veggie tempura were heavily battered and oily. The server never get to check back to see how were doing or what need like water refill, extra napkins, and had to ask for the orders they didnt serve us. Service not the greatest as there was only 1 server who does the phone ordering, the till, cleaning of tables. We waited for a good 45 minutes even before we get to order our food. In my observation, it looks like theyre attending to phone orders for take out eventhough we were here first at the restaurant. By the time they get to serve our food, it was another half hour wait. Drove all the way here and I have to say the worst dining experience Ive ever had considering its a special occasion.
As it is Covid times I do understand that customer service isnt as easy and so it was a little lower than normal. But the food was great and the service times were very good.
The food was great here dont get me wrong. The problem was the staff and how it is operated. I had paid for the all you can eat option , as I kept ordering more food the waiter kept giving me dirty looks. The waiter continually asked if I wanted the food not putting my order in until all the food on the table was eaten. Then at one point when I went to order more food he denied me service as he said you already ordered 10 tables of dessert...no more in a angry tone. They still charged me full price for the buffet $36 and I was not even close to full
Just attempted to go eat here. We were told we couldnt sit in a booth because there was only 2 people in our party. Last time we attempted to use skip to order takeout and were told pickup only because they were to busy to offer delivery. When I arrived to pick up our order there wasnt a single patron in the restaurant and in the 20 minutes I had to wait for my food only a single person arrived to pick up food? Horrible business.
Ordered oyakodon and got a katsudon instead. When I asked the waitress why the oyakdon was deep fried instead of grilled, she asked me where I was from and said maybe in your country, they grill it . Not an acceptable answer.
What a surprise to find a fresh sashimi restaurant in Spruce Grove! It s my first time to try the raw salmon and i really like it!
Celebrated my birthday with take out from here. She called to make sure the order was correct and paid special attention to detail. Loved the personal touch.
Good service and amazing food, they make us great vegan options.
This is my favourite sushi place! So many great options, always super fresh, clean restaurant and friendly service. Its a bit pricy, but 100% worth it.
ALL YOU CAN EAT in big bright red letters takes up 40% of the window space only to be served 2/7 days 28% of the week. Weak. Gave it a try at 2:30. Approached by an awkward boy with bad news right off the start, we close all you can eat at 3:00 so you can only order once . Can I order food after 3 from the menu? No Whatever I ll try your food. 36 rolls ordered and received 24 rolls. I ask if there was a miss count and 10 min later the remaining rolls came. When I received my bill the awkward boy attempted overcharging $4. When I asked where he got that price from as it shows up nowhere on the menu he awkwardly apologized and corrected the bill. Went back for a second time much earlier and with a friend. Was only given one all you can eat menu for the table. Arguing with the awkward boy about their menu policy as it makes no sense when all the food comes out you have no idea who s is who s and what is what. The food is good but the server left a bad taste in my mouth both times. I don t think I ll return unless lunch is bought. I will make my own rolls. Save my money and my stress.
DONT FALL FOR IT LIKE WE DID, THESE 1 STARS ARE HERE FOR A REASON!!! Absolutely the worst service I have ever had anywhere in the world. They refused my wifes request for another order sheet as the kitchen was busy when we asked to order a second time after being served once in an hour and a half. it took 30 minutes for us to recieve our first items and they forgot my soup and my wife never got hers after asking for it twice. In an hour and a half, we were not served at least 1/3rd of what we ordered (They sneak a 10% gratutity on and only offer a 10% discount, shouldve just walked out without paying) and had only ordered ONCE. ONCE. I wanted to walk out without paying but my wife insisted I pay, they are lucky shes so honest because I dont think they deserve a dime. When I asked to pay for a single person I was given excuses about them being busy and that we just needed to be patient. (there was around 20-25 people in the place? half capacity) and charged full price. I left hungry, and lividly mad. Avoid this place like the plague and just drive into Edmonton. I made the mistake of coming out to spruce to try it a second time.
Paid 5.20$ for seaweed salad, it tasted really good but the portion size was about 3 bites.
Fantastic service, amazing food. I try to get there once a week for their awesome spicy tuna.
Another great spruce Grove place. Awesome all you can eat option!
Have only been a takeout customer, so I cant speak on service, just the quality of the food. Sashimi is always on point and they offer a good variety of options. When it comes to rolls, the taste is always fantastic, but quality at times is a miss. Seems that the occasional roll was made well in advance, but this is pretty rare. Overall its some really solid sushi, just has some consistency issues.
If you re craving sushi and don t want to drive into the city then this place is a sure bet to satiate the hunger! The staff is incredibly friendly and the two times I ve been (in the same week, no less) in they ve never stopped smiling when serving us. The sashimi is fresh and there are lots of options to choose from.
Good place good food
Customer Service is very poor. Used to eat here all the time, but looks like things are being ran differently now. Will be heading into Edmonton to enjoy All You Can Eat Sushi from now on as well since the Sushi here isnt actually All You Can Eat.
Best sushi buffet, food is extremely fresh and good and service is awesome love this place, would totally recommend
Food was okay, nothing bad but not great either. We also never got everything that we put on our sheet... and we got random rolls that we didn t want and still had to pay extra for them since they charge you for leftovers - which I m okay with... if it s stuff we actually wanted. Hard to get a hold of staff because they re so busy. I probably won t go back.
Love the food and the service is always great !!
Good food , friendly staff
One of the worst restaurants ever. Owner of restaurant came to harass us at every pass, and kept on saying we will charge you extra if you dont finish. Which is fine, and fair, except she kept on saying it every single pass. We got mad, and left. Worst service ever. Response to owner: no, there was no misunderstanding. Your wife, the owner, basically started yelling at us infront of all your customers. So unprofessional and unnecessary. I am embarrassed on your behalf. She was complaining over some shrimp tails and overly thick tempura we didnt want to finish? Youre not even suppose to eat the shrimp tails. So ridiculous. Hope you guys fail.
Had such a terrible experience tonight at this restaurant. I wanted to have a relaxing date night with my wife, after a long week. Instead of enjoying a nice night out, the owner started arguing very loudly with another customer, i think over something small the customer did. It was very unprofessional on the restaurant part, especially because it was the OWNER who was doing it. I guess the rest of the reviews of the 1 stars were right on. I will not be coming back...it was horrendous.
We actually had a great experience with customer service here, but we were the only ones in the restaurant. The waitress was friendly and willing to explain everything to us. We tried a bunch of new types of sushi and left very happy! Will definitely be back
Not great service, waited forever for just the drinks. Not the best sushi either.
Experience was not the best. Server does not attend to table well. Also, as we went for all you can eat, he examined our 4 pieces of left over food and threatened to charge us extra for not finishing the food. That point forward, I felt pressured to have to eat everything on the table even if it didnt taste the best.
This was our first time here, but not our first time with all you can eat sushi. The food was very good, especially because it was all you can eat. But, that being said, some feedback needs to be shared about the service. The number of times we were warned that we would be charged for any left-over items became insulting. The server (a young man) was generally awkward, but the standout was the preoccupation with prices. Will likely be back, but would love for the business to read some of these reviews and grow from them. (I see many other comments that echo what we experienced tonight)
I go here with my family all the time and my kids and I love it! Great food and great service. I would definitely recommend coming here
Bad customer service
Food was excellent, very good service, our new go to sushi place in Spruce Grove.
Best sushi place in spruce grove. We thought we would miss our favorite restaurant in the city when we moved here, but this place is amazing.
Love this place. I find sushi places to be so hit or miss, mostly miss if Im being honest.. So I was delighted when I moved to Spruce Grove to find this gem!! Always good happy service and fabulous food for a reasonable price.
Very pricey, and nothing more specially than something like edo Japan. Unfortunately hard to understand as well.
We love Osaka Sushi! Food is always great. Service is prompt and efficient. We love that you can order sushi and a good selection of Dim Sum as well.
Very good food and good service.
Great food, fast service, loved the atmosphere
Great food, prices are great too
Great all you can eat and the service is always kind and helpful.
Great food, great prices, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere! (Music isnt too loud to have a conversation), will definitely be back!
Amazing and fresh tasting sushi with tons of variety and yummy soups and appies
I used to be a regular costumer here because I love their sushi rolls. The first time we ate here, the lady who was serving was discouraging us to eat the all you can eat but we still did it. First batch came in and we wanted a second batch of orders, but she saying that we wont be able to finish it and that we have to pay extra although we already knew that. She couldnt believe on the order that we made, she thought that we couldnt finish it but we did. The second time we ate here, it was the $34 dinner all you can eat. We made our orders, food was good but again service was BAD. When we were going to pay our bill, our total was $78, and it was just my mom and I. She charged us almost $7 tip, it wasnt even optional, it was already added in to our total bill. I would understand if it was a fancy/classy restaurant but 10% of a tip was too much. She only served us twice and refilling our waters. Wasnt it her job to serve the costumers and let them give the tip how much they want? There was only the two of us, I would understand if it was like a group. The first time we ate here, there was no tip charged on our bill. It was very disappointing and the server was disrespectful. Food prices are increasing too. Never coming back again.
Great food and great service! My new favorite restaurant
Best sushi around
Great all you can eat Sushi!!! Highly recommend it - make sure you go hungry. :)
