This is the best pub in Squamish. They have great weekly specials on food and drinks. The staff is great! The pub caters to vegetarians and vegans well too!

The backyard hosted my rugby team following a game against Squamish. The food, serve and atmosphere were all top quality! Will be back when visiting Squamish for a pint. Great local pub run by great people!

Appetizers are a little small, Street Corn Ribs are corn not ribs. Taste is very good. Food and drinks came fast. Very busy seems like a locals spot.

So happy to have finally checked out this gem! The patio was full when we went but it sure looked inviting with the misting system, beautiful flowers, and a gorgeous view of the mountains. Inside was super cozy with live music and local artwork on the walls. I really enjoyed the coconut mojito and both meals we shared: the bacon Swiss burger (highly recommend the curly fries!) and the Tropic Thunder pizza. Look forward to coming back again and trying out the patio and more items off the menu!

We ordered a burger and poutine. Waited 45 minutes. The next table that came in after us already got their food. We asked the waitress why our food still hasn t come. The waitress come back just tell us they ran out of buns. It was obvious they hadn t put in the order until we asked what was going on. An apology and an admission that an error had been made would have been appreciated before informing us you can t make our food because you served burgers to other tables that came in after we ordered.

Something for everyone on this menu, tuna steak burger is a current favourite. The new owners have really worked to make this place feel like home for everyone that walks through their doors. Really stoked they are open 7 days a week again! Greats deals on every day of the week too

First time visiting tonight and it was excellent! Service, food and drinks were all the best weve had in Squamish in ages. We will definitely be back and will definitely recommend a visit to anyone. Our group had pizza, cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, veggie burger and pulled pork sandwich and they were all excellent! Definitely the best pub in town. Great work to the new owners!

What a treat to have stumbled into The Backyard up by valleycliff. Just a short trip off the highway, but filled with all the Squamish local charm and beautiful views of the Chief mountain. The food and service were excellent and there was load of space to park out front. I was greeted by the Owners Blake and Pete who were very friendly. Definitely a super option for any time your passing through Squamish and need to refuel the body. Thanks again lads, I ll be back for sure!

The Backyard Pub is a great local pub! It s got an awesome laidback vibe. The menu has something for everyone with wide variety of food and drinks - and it continues to grow and evolve. The owners and staff are super welcoming and friendly. The patio is super charming with gorgeous views of the Chief. It s a great place to stop for a meal with friends and family, or a night out! They have TVs to watch the game, a pool table, and darts too. Their weekly events like live music and trivia, plus daily food specials are another good reason to check it out!

Always a great vibe at the backyard and I appreciate that they have vegan options! Vegan mains include two different pizzas and a cheeseburger. We ordered the vegan cheeseburger but sadly you are required to order a gluten-free bun (+$3) since they use a non vegan brioche bun. We also ordered the vegan poutine which I would not recommend as the cheese was not melted. Still really like this place but hoping their vegan options improve!

So unimpressed, they were short staffed last night which I had sympathy for. But either way it shouldn t take 30+minutes for one beer. Absolutely ridiculous especially because it happened multiple times. I even saw a young lady trying to go to the bar to pick up her drink and sent them away!! And looked like they still had to wait for longer. Unacceptable but sadly is the managers fault for not scheduling more people

Great neighbourhood pub. The staff are super friendly and the vibes are great. The whole place has a community feel to it. Trivia nights are hands down the best.

I m at the backyard at least 2 times a week. The food is awesome everytime I get something different and never disappoints. New owners are really running the place well, brings that proper pub vibe back to Squamish. Would highly recommend coming in on a Saturday after an Axemen game.

I ve been to the backyard many times now and have enjoyed it every time, the staff were fantastic and always polite, would recommend to anyone local or visiting from out of town.

The backyard is the perfect place to stop for a bit of grub when going through Squamish. Incredible menu, great beer selection and the staff and new owners really make you feel at home. Pete and Blake will always look after you whether youre on your own or stopping with a group

went to play trivia on wednesday may 10 and was having a lovely meal and enjoying the game. made a light-hearted comment to the trivia host and he came back rude and unnecessarily dismissive. don t come to the backyard for trivia if he s working it.

Poor food consistency, inexperienced customer service I have been twice now and the first time was good, good sized juicy chicken, burger(Nashville hot chicken), nicely fried and a soft toasted bun and a small but ok portion of fries. Today I ordered the same burger but it had very minimal chicken. I mentioned to the server who s response was well we get between 5-7oz chicken and it s random what you get ! With an awkward pause with an eventual I ll talk to the kitchen . It was definitely less than 5oz I did get a replacement which was a good portion, similar to what I had on the first visit. Upon paying the server doubled down and said you got a really good sized replacement, you might not get that again next time. Is what I pay for the burger random too? Way to encourage me to revisit! With such inconsistencies in portion size and poor attitude I doubt I d revisit for food. A slight change in attitude or maybe ensuring the kitchen puts out consistent quality and quantity takes a little and goes a long way

This is the best restaurant and bar in Squamish. Atmosphere is perfect . Staff are kind , courteous, helpful and funny ! Food is all 10/10 but if you have to pick get that chicken sandwich or a pizza or wings w fries . Vodka lemonades absolutely smash the make a drink proper test Bathrooms are clean , and rotating live music and events makes it just a lively joint. Kids menu s as well as off sales ! This place wins . Its a staple of the local community of Squamish and gives you that true local vibe . 10/10 will be eating more pizza again Vegetarian options: Veggie pizzas, fries , cauliflower bites +more Dietary restrictions: Gluten intolerant friendly Parking: Plaza with over 100 spots Kid-friendliness: High chairs , kid menus, and wifi ! Also they have multiple TV s which broadcast different sports to watch.

food is usually decent but on this occasion, our order came out wrong and all they offered to do was remake it. It was pizza so we opted to eat wrong pizza so we could eat with everyone else in our party. No additional discount was given even though we were clearly not delighted. Place also either doesn t give soda and water refills or waitstaff doesn t give a F. Sunday is karaoke night, played at a volume that can be heard all over the neighborhood. Definitely order to-go if you re at all interested in saving your hearing.

Worth it, despite it being a bit out of the way.

Loved this place! The service was exceptional, the food was fresh and delicious, and the patio was lively and lovely. I had the crispy chicken burger with ranch and hot sauce. Fantastic. I had it with Greek salad and thought it strange that it had lettuce, but I loved it! Others had fries with their burgers, and the portions of fries were more than generous. One person had the pizza, and it looked fabulous. We came back on a Tuesday and were soooo sad that you were closed. Should have checked the website as we were coming from North Vancouver. We will be back!

Went there for dinner last night. Had not been in couple months. Had a hankering for wings. Was surprised when i got them! Salt and pepper wings, now plastered in a thick batter, i assume deep fried....HORRID! Why mess with what used to be best wings in Squamish ! The Lager was delish tho. I will pass on the food next time and go to Copper Coil.

Zero accommodations made for someone who has Celiac disease. I am usually okay with a salad (something that I have gotten used too) but to have no option to pan fry some sort of protein is a little crazy. Apparently it is in their policy not to cook any meat in a separate pan. I have worked in the industry for 10 plus years and never heard of anything like this. The server even said that they don t hire celiac people . I was very put off with the whole situation.

Clean. Good service but I went at a slow time. Ordered chicken wings. Probably worst ever. Overcooked, too much crumble batter and meat was tough. Could not tell they were salt and pepper. I will return but will never order chicken wings again.

Great food, lightning fast service. Warm Backyard feel that has a classic pub look to it. Kids are allowed during daytime hours, family dinner anyone? Personally addicted to their poutine, just enough to eat and feel guilty after. The other menu items are made very well, the tacos are a big hit with my friends.

Actually really good food, lots of tables, screens, and just all around good time. We went with our 3 year old son who was rubbing around the place entertaining everyone, and the staff were super patient and great

The staff was so friendly and helpful, definitely above and beyond. A great experience! Thanks for feeding my exhausted butt so close to close after a big hike!

Music bingo on Wednesday is a riot. Trivia with maple Dave on Thursdays is the hot place in town. Have to get there by 6 or you arent getting In... Trivia starts at 730. Pizza is good.

Our waitress was great, the food is pretty good but expensive and very meagre with the portions. Also they don t have a deep fryer. So only salads as sides. There are great restaurants of this style in Squamish, unfortunately my experience left me hungry.

This is an exciting trail, with lots of wood features and many beautiful viewpoints. If you can walk, you need to do this trail!

Will not order from here ever again. The fries were covered with salt even though I asked for no salt. The salad was covered with dirt, didnt even touch it, went straight to garbage. Sad looking burgers, overpriced. Dont wanna even mention about the cauliflower fries. What a waste of money. Most of the food ended up in the garbage. This was 56 sth dollar meal for 2 ppl. 15% of tip was for nothing!

solid neighborhood pub.

We ordered BBQ bacon swiss burger with fries as side..and Backyard pizza. It was so delicious, my boyfriend was nicely surprised and it´s now his new favourite restaurant in Squamish. Great food and service

Seated pretty much immediately. Server was nice. Beautiful view of the Stawamus Chief. Server could have been more on top of water(have other tables a pitcher of water but didn t come by to fill waters once) and remembering to move us to a bigger table once it became available (we had to move ourselves). Went with expectations of decent food, seeing as a friend of a friend recommended it, but what we got was passionless and nearly textureless food with very little flavour. Everything was obviously Pre-made: from-frozen shoestring fries, to the buns, to the burger patties to the American cheese aka a processed cheese slice (yuck). Heck, the lettuce probably came out of a plastic packet.. expensive for what I received...got a veggie burger with fries and left hungry and angry that I even allowed myself to fill my stomach with such garbage. I don t understand the high ratings for this place... perhaps the pizza is the one hit wonder here..

Came to Vancouver for my birthday weekend and was disastrously disappointed with everywhere we have dined so far. Either terrible service or out of stock on all things ordered. Stopped at the backyard after doing the sea to sky gondola and was pleasantly surprised. The service was great, from the moment we entered the building and was happily greeted by the bartender to the waitress who was friendly and attentive. The food was delivered promptly and cooked to perfection. Flavour was there for sure. Enjoyed a couple beverages on the patio and took in the view. Definitely a great place to relax. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys the quieter more slower paced environment. Thanks so much for the experience!

Obviously you go here to try some pretty good beers! Veggie pizza was amazing. Ambiance was alright, guess it would be nicer when the sun hits the outdoor seating. Cause it is a brewery the sounds are quite loud. Interested in beer? Definitely worth a visit! Looking for a proper meal, find another restaurant to sit in a bit more peace and quite. Ps. They also have a merchandise shop, in case youre a real fan or looking for some beers to take home.

Great atmosphere, and the keep it simple. Simple menu, great beer on tap, and decent prices. Doesnt feel like a bar, feels like your buddies rec room. I wrote simple above, Went again recently and they have really amped up the menu,and extended the patio...quickly becoming one of the better foodie spots in Squamish!

Serving sizes for the price were on the small size- I didnt leave the restaurant saying that was a great value. Service was prompt and attentive, beer was cold. Will be back, but may eat first so I wont be tempted to snack.

I popped by after a day of exploring for a meal and some beer -- it was pleasant, service quick. It was a tad cool outdoors, a tad dark indoors, but I enjoyed it.

Great place. Decided to go to Squamish and walk around Alice Lake, then to a nice pub for a beer and snack. This was excellent, my server was nice, friendly and helpful. Had the Margarita pizza with balsamic drizzle and it was excellent as was the beer. Will definitely stop there again. Also has a fair amount of patio space.

Had the coconut pawns and a pizza. Both were amazing. Quite surprised at just how good the pizza was. Friendly staff and my god are they on top of the drink orders. Great job you guys !

Extremely disappointed in the service tonight, last call for food was not mentioned even though menus left for food. On top of it...the services kept asking if we were done at with appies at 21:07 when they close at 10pm. The hostess was so brief with us like she just wanted to go home.

I am a experienced server. I have never had a experience as good as the one I had last night. I think her name was Andreas. Her section full and she was so on top of it. I really feel like she cared about our dining experience.

FANTASTIC. Had the quarterback with dirty fries (as suggested by our beautiful server Melissa) And a Hoyne pilsner. Started with wings but all in all most excellent across the board. Fast from the kitchen, still HOT when it hit the table. And Melissas smile was the icing on the cake. Very personable but didnt hover or interup, perfect balance. Will definitely return.

Love this little bar hidden in Valley Cliff. They have awesome fries and burgers here with a big list of beers on tap. They ve recently extended their patio into the parking lot so everyone is spaced out. Definitely a hidden gem of Squamish

Best place to eat in Squamish friendly staff and I wanted to say that the food is so awesome I was born & raised here and I live in valeycliffe I ordered take out in the restaurant and it was ready with 15 mins and was delicious. Weve been in a few times dinned in and have ordered take out and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!! It is consistantly good! Thank you for your great service & food! We will be back many of times! Very impressed!

Had a wonderful dinner at The Backyard. Friendly staff, greatnesses atmosphere, delicious food and will come again next time we re in town.

No masks were worn in consideration of COVID-19, however, the food was promising and came in due time. In addition, the service was very friendly and efficient. It was also priced very well and came in larger portion sizes than expected, making it even more worth it. Finally, the set up was excellent, with many TVs showing the hockey game, a good amount of space between tables, and kindly dim lighting that didnt strain the eyes. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody passing through the area and in need of a good bite to eat.

It is a hidden gem, turn off just before Squamish headed North and follow the signs, basics - decor and ambience, large deck, TVs, fireplace all good, staff awesome and friendly, - craft beers well kept, good food selection and quality all at OK prices, whats not to like, repeat definitely.
