Relaxed hostel featuring dorms, private rooms & a suite, plus a shared kitchen & lounge areas.
Comfortable beds, friendly staff, and very clean facilities. Our family enjoyed the 10 days in a private room and meeting fellow travellers. It's nice not to have to bring any bedding or kitchenware.
Fantastic stay at this Squamish hostel! Conveniently located near grocery stores, dining options, and just minutes from trails like the Chief. The hostel was spotless, the staff were friendly, and the overall experience was seamless. Highly recommend and would definitely return!
Super easy rentals at an affordable price, we even rented a private room but a low price. It’s not very fancy but if you are looking for a proper mountain lodge to clean up after an alpine outing this place manages to offer the bare minimum. Service was friendly and rooms were warm, can’t really complain other than that alcohol was not sold on the premises. I really appreciated the quiet time and surprised that everyone followed it. Pretty nice to sleep at a decent hour undisturbed!
I booked the 3 bedroom private room as I could not book the dorm room with my son. The room met my expectations was clean and spacious and served our needs well, probably better than being in a dorm. The Squamish Adventure Inn is well placed for the town and adventures and great value. I would highly recommend and would stay again on my next visit.
My mum and I stayed in the private hotel-style suite and have to say, our experience was 10/10! <3 Location was secluded but a perfect walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown Squamish. Plenty of beautiful scenery and great walking paths with numerous outdoor activities to take part in. The room and common areas were all clean, organized and laid out in an inviting and thoughtful way. Can see myself staying here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our stay feel so welcome! -K
Loved my stay at the hostel. Great location next to downtown which is within walking distance. The rooms, common areas, bathrooms and kitchen are kept nice and clean. Staff are super helpful and friendly. They even have kayaks and paddleboards for rent and the Ice Cream next door is amazing! Lovely place by the water with a great view of the chief. Would stay again and highly recommend to anyone else.
The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. They helped me with a reservation and after hours check in for my sister. Her departure for her mountaineering course was seamless thanks to your staff!! The hostel is so warm and so inviting and clean. It almost felt as though I was walking into a home. The security key cards are wonderful as well. I will now refer friends to the adventure inn instead of a hotel! Thank you for everything! My sister is living out her dream right now… thanks for being such a positive part of her journey!
This was a great HOSTEL (no AC, TV or private bath, etc that you would expect in a typical "hotel" room in the US). This was my first time stay outside of the US and I was surprised when I got there and realized it was a "hostel" and not a hotel. Need to do chores such as taking the sheets off to the laundry basket, etc - simple and easy. Even though I booked a private room, I had to walk through another room with 4 bunk beds to get to my room and I shared the bathroom with them. I tried to be really quiet so as not to disturb others who were sleeping by the time I got there. The staff was nice and friendly, I made coffee & breakfast at the shared kitchen and I got to meet a few friendly people, mostly climbers and bikers. It was cheaper than most other hotels nearby, I recommend this place if you need a place to sleep for a night and not travelling with family, and don't want to sleep in the car.
The reception desk was very helpful. Looking forward for more stays.
Thank you for accommodating us on such short notice! The staff was friendly and professional from booking to check out.
Had a great experience staying at the Squamish Adventure Inn. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed getting to know the friendly staff and other hostel guests. Great vibe here, would definitely recommend for a nice casual place to stay. Rooms: Clean and great value. Nearby activities: Walking distance to town, close to hiking and kite surfing. Safety: Secure space, ability to lock up gear. Walkability: Literally a 2 min walk to downtown. Food and drinks: You can bring and cook your own food in the common area kitchen.
Kinda can be a good experience spending time there
Good experience! Correct location even if it is close to the highway. The kitchen is very well equipped and functional.
Lovely stay with helpful staff!
We stayed here for one night. A really good hostel with a large kitchen that is very well equipped. There are many seating areas (inside & outside). The toilets and showers were very clean.
Great location, not too far of a walk or bike ride from downtown. Clean beds, sheets, etc. good place for a good price
I really enjoyed my one night stay in the Private Double room. The building was quiet, clean, and well organized. Staff were friendly and other guests were respectful and kind. Location was perfect with walking distance to restaurants, groceries, and Stawamus Chief mountain. Thank you!
If new to Squamish and not getting rental then go to squamish adventure in. It will be cost effective compare to Air BNB.
For me this was an ideal location for climbing in Squamish. The atmosphere is really cozy and inviting. The girl who checked us in was very friendly
My first time visiting, I stayed here for the climbing academy for 3 nights in a flex room with shared bathroom. The rooms are tidy and comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. The kitchen is very spacious. I appreciated the free coffee, parking and wifi.
Great location. Very clean and beautiful views of the back deck. Easy walk/bike to amenities. Just a bit stuffy in the room at night. Walkability: Easy walk/bike to amenities
First time staying here. Perfect stop on the way to Whistler. We really enjoyed the views of the chief and spending our mornings on the waterfront.
Had a great time. Clean rooms, nice people. Chill vibes!
Nice chill hang spots, wish the bathroom toiletries were a bit more well-stocked. Walkability: Short walk to downtown shops.
Very nice experience in this hostel which was very clean, quiet and with a beautiful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly :) I would definitely come back!
The property is great but I think overpriced for what you get. If I were traveling with friends I would pool money and get a hotel room but as a solo traveler there really isn t much options so your stuck paying premium for bunk rooms. The part that really drew me to write a review is the unsanitary aspects of the property. They don t clean the comforters between guests. The rooms are hot, no AC, and everyone that is there is a rockclimbing, mountain biking, or hiking. The fact that the blankets aren t cleaned between guests is really freaking gross. In that same vein, there is one bath mat (hand towel) that guests are told to hang up after they shower. By the end of the night the bath mat is wet, dank, and been stepped on by how many people? And I m supposed to touch it with my hands and feet? Continuing into the kitchen area where they offer clean kitchen towels and guests are told to dry off their dishes. I woke up at 5:30 am and those clean folded towels were wet and STUNK like mold/mildew. Are all the dishes being dried with these gross towels? I don t know why they are cutting corners with the sanitation. If it weren t for that the property would be GREAT. And it s clear they do clean the property and have excellent kitchen supplies and fun group amenities. Although pricy I would have given 5 stars but the dirty blankets and towels were really distracting and bothersome.
Best nights sleep I ve had in a hostel. The beds don t creak, no one snored, view is fantastic. Quiet, climby hostel. Highly recommend
I had a nice stay and have no complaints. This is a nicely kept hostel in a convenient location.
The hostel is in a great location, close to the water, the chief and downtown Squamish. The staff are awesome, shoutout Bryony! The rooms, common areas and bathroom were spotless! We stayed in a private room on the third floor for 4 nights, it was clean, comfy and super quiet. Would totally recommend this place to anyone who plans on visiting Squamish for an adventure trip or a scenic trip to do a couple hikes and eat at the lovely restaurants (Like we did). You wont be disappointed!
Great location. Check in quickly and easily. Was well booked in September 2024. Be sure to taste the ice cream at the ice cream stand in front of it. Yummy. Walkability: Downtown Squamish can be reached in 20 minutes
Well kept, great amenities.
Clean room, very friendly staff, good kitchen and the food storage, Great Location. Thanks Rooms: Small room with a bathroom, very clean.
3rd time staying here, good location since its a walk away from food places, gas station and clothing stores, friendly staff and comfy beds!! And very reasonably priced for the hotel style rooms :) as well as dorm style!
Didn t get to experience the full range of activities available as I was only there one night. All good for what I needed and was looking for. Close to the town centre and easy to access.
Walkability: Proche du centre-ville. Facilite les services. Piste pietone à proximité. Très apprécié pour la sécurité. Super accueil du personnel. Bons services. Milieu tranquille! Merci à léquipe. Rooms
Let me start by writting this review to say that this USED TO BE my favorite hostel. I have stayed here before, 2 years prior to this review. In fact, I cannot believe I did not leave a review then. I was in love then. However, my experiences were vastly different between then and now. Now, I feel ripped off and burnt on this place. I doubt I will ever come back. When paying over $200 USD (more in CAD) to book a private room - I expect just that - A PRIVATE ROOM. Even if it small or smaller. We have had that (a very small private room) when staying here before. We had no idea the private rooms could be smaller than what we had the last time we were here but I promise the rooms can be the size of closet which I found out this visit. A ROOM THAT USED TO BE A CLOSET IN A ROOM WITH 3 OTHER BEDS IS NOT A PRIVATE ROOM. THAT IS A CLOSET INSIDE A DORM WITH A MATTRESS. The size of the room I was given with my partner was extremely tiny. And, it was westward facing meaning, it was baking in the sun all day. This hostel has no AC and, our closet aka the tiny private room was so hot I could barely function once we got inside. We went downstairs to see if this is correct - surely, if we paid this much we must have a different room. NOPE. This was our room aka a closet inside of a shared dorm and there was no available room to switch to. Listen, I doubt I will come back. I have LOVED this place in the past but take over $200 USD from me and give me a personal sauna / an easy bake oven style place the size of a closet which is supposed to be a room ? Nope. There s other places to stay in the area that cost less and, won t bake you alive OR charge you over $200 for a CLOSET inside of a dorm room. We found a hostel near by for the same price & got a room with a private bath and a HUGE room. That was PRIVATE ! SQUAMISH INN IT IS SHAMEFUL WHAT YOU ARE DOING - I consider it FRAUD - Stop overcharging for rooms or misrepresenting what you are offering !! Update the website with accurate pictures at a bare minimum & label correctly. Room 306P the P stood for Private needs to be re-labeled 306C for CLOSET. I added a picture of the room we saw online and paid for - this is NOT what we got at all. Not even close. The room we received was the size of a king size bed or a walk in closet with a queen sized bed inside. There was NO room at all inside of it and it was terribly hot. This listing online is VERY misleading. The room pictured in the online ad is actually the room we had last time when we stayed here two years ago and, so we were excited ! We thought we would get it again and, we were so thrilled. We also went back into our records from our last stay and found that the last time we were here, for a room almost DOUBLE THE SIZE of what we got this time - was less than 1/2 the cost ! The room pictured in this review, the room we had last time, and the room we thought we were getting was $61 USD the last time we were here. What we got THIS TIME was a modified closet in a dorm room that was not private and was not described clearly or pictured correctly online which was majorly misleading and we were charged over $200 USD for a CLOSET. Again, I feel ripped off and, when I asked for help I was ignored. The website is misleading and, inaccurate. On a personal note - I never get time with my partner. We had such a good time here the last time we were here we came back to rediscover that loving feeling at a place we both loved. Well, now we know how much we love each other for having to deal with this ridiculous situation and we both also know how much we do not love this spot anymore. I ll be staying elsewhere, sadly. Do not let this place mislead you or rip you off like they did to us this weekend. Again, Squamish Adventure Hostel you used to be great. Please, do better and stop taking peoples hard earned money and misleading them. It s heartbreaking. It s misleading. And it s fraudulent. Truly. Rooms: Ugh. No thanks.
Paid $235 total for a private small room for two, which is super pricey but it was the only private room they had. I assumed it would be of a similar quality and size to the private small room I booked at this place for my girlfriend and I a couple years back for only $85. After a long day, we excitedly checked in and went upstairs to our room but when we opened the door a wave of disappointment washed over us as we discovered it was the size of a broom closet, barely larger than a queen sized mattress. Seriously, it was nothing like the small private room we had a couple years ago, was depressingly small and directly faced the busy highway. The pictures I included in this review that I pulled from their website MISLEADINGLY indicate that it s facing the chief, as our old room did. They must be embarrassed by this room s existence as I wasn t able to find any pictures of this particular one on their website. The room was unbearably hot, but when we opened up the window we were inundated by a cacophony of traffic noises. We had the fan on full blast, window open, were uncomfortably hot and annoyed by traffic noises well into the night. Also, it s really not a private room as you need to go through a six person dorm to access it and there s a wide crack beneath the door so we could easily hear conversations in the other room. I really do think it was a broom closet for the six person dorm that they converted into a private room as a cash grab. They do mention under the Quick Facts part of their webpage that it s bright and [has a] town-side view , however, them only including pictures of WAY more spacious Chief facing rooms (like the one we stayed at before) when you click the more info section on their website constitutes was I consider FRAUD, which is a crying shame because this hostel has so many great qualities. Before our stay last night, I would ve given this place 5 stars and used to recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Squamish. But after our garbage experience last night and feeling completely swindled, I d advise you to be very wary about booking a private room with them.
The room was good for the money we paid. The hostel was clean and organized. The location was amazing and with very beautiful views. Overall, had a good experience here. Walkability: Walkable to food restaurants and the main town
Very nice place
Private flex room: photo is different from the reality
Loved our stay. Clean rooms, solid location for windsurfing, and the staff are reallyy cool. A surfers paradise you might say...
Worth a visit without a doubt. For us the location was great for climbing. The vibe is very relaxing here and laid-back, and the staff are really friendly
There are table and plugs to get work done remotely. Bed in the dorms were clean and very comfortable. Walking distance to town center and climbing area like smoke bluffs.
In general a very good experience. Walkability: 5 min walk to downtown Squamish Rooms : 4/5 |
clean and super organized, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. great place to meet other folks in town for outdoorsy activities.
Great location in the heart of squamish & have a very nice patio too Professional staff and other housemates!! Rooms: Both hostel and private rooms available.. Rooms are clean & spacious.. Housemates are professional Good views from room windows Walkability: Walking distance to the bus stops & close to main market /downtown too...
Clean, well organised and wonderful view.
Its a different experience to stay in this hotel with the kids. The kitchen is shared and well maintained. They have separate bins for each room to store their own things. It has all the necessary utensils to do cooking. The staff was super helpful. I felt the charges for room was pricey from Airbnb. I wish I booked directly from the wrbsite. The room is small but fits comfortably for 2 kids and 2 adults. It is located in a nice location. The river beside the hostel was very nice. They also have access to that rivet walk. We can also walk by the nearby restaurants via river walk or across the highway. They have bike, kayak rentals. Checkout and check in was easy. There is no elevator so it was a little difficult to take the bags upstairs. Overall a great place to stay. Rooms: Rooms are dorm style but also have private rooms with a bed and couch turned bed good for families. Nearby activities: Good drive to Whisler or Vancouver down south. Near the falls, mountain climbing and other lot of attractions. Walkability: All the restaurants and stores are walking distance.
This was my first time staying at a hostel and the staff made me feel so welcomed! I felt like I had a bunch of questions and the man working the front counter answered everything and gave me a quick tour. Theyve got a bunch of different places setup outside to relax and theyve even got a BBQ for folks to use. I would not hesitate to stay here again - in fact, Im looking forward to it! Rooms: I booked a single bunk in a shared room. I had 5 other roommates but all were quiet and respectful. They offer lockers to secure belongings and I found the room to be spacious enough for 6 folks to share. Noteworthy details: Great view from the yard! And the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and whatnot.
Nearby activities: A lot of good hiking, swimming, climbing and good restaurants all in walking distance Rooms
Not good. Sparce dated rooms, not even a side table, and when we asked about 2nd pillows was told they have none. Stayed in the family room and the futon didn t fold flat. Shared kitchen is dirty and poorly equipped. Staff seemed annoyed that guests were staying. We were there for staff dinner night, meaning most available cookers and pots were being used to make the staffs dinner, and the paying guests were left to fight over a small pot without a handle and the tiny burner. Would not come again.
I really enjoyed the days I stayed this hostel. Thank you so much for your hospitality and someday I d like to visit you again.
Great place, great staff, great ice cream, great stay, thank you. Only downside was how hot the rooms got, but the fans really helped.
Had a lovely week in Squamish at the hostel! My out-of-town friends always plan a climbing trip out here during the summer and the hostel was a great, affordable place to rest our heads. The staff are excellent and the location can t be beat, not to mention on-site ice cream! Definitely a bit toasty and the fan wasn t very strong, but overall loved our experience.
The hostel was good place for a visit. Close to town and bus stop. Was quite busy when a large group book in to use the facilities. Rooms : 5/5
It was great! The private room blanket (duvet) I had was definitely dirty and I couldn t check in early to sleep even though I have a sleep disorder and disability so I was struggling with being awake and asleep in the lobby with my important baggage I didn t want to put inside a locker but everyone was nice. The hostel was clean otherwise. Was happy to stay here. Walkability: Walkable to markets, shops, restaurants and downtown Squamish.
Pretty clean kitchen, nice outside area & patio, tidy rooms with hooks to hang your clothes/bags on and... great people :-).
Next time you are staying in Squamish, check out Squamish Adventure Inn hostel. The staff are quite friendly and very helpful. The hostel seems well organized and clean. There were lots of people coming and going, a fun vibe at this hostel. A great location also. I highly recommend staying there. Walkability: Lots of restaurants, pubs and a few shops within walking distance.
This was our last stop after a long trip across the continent (with two kids!) and we didn t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! The front desk staff are very friendly, patient, and helpful. We hadn t stayed in a lodge like this before, the common area fireplace lounge area was a cozy area to hang out in and the tv room is fun for the kids. We were in a bunk-style room with shared bathroom down the hall, our room was clean and so were the bathrooms. We visited the Smoke Bluffs Park next door which had incredible views. Thanks for making this a memorable leg of our trip, we cant wait to return!
Thanks for making our family stay a fun experience! The kids loved the ice cream stand and playing! The tv lounge is perfect for kids and the parents. Cannot beat that view from the patio!
I liked my stay but some things need improvements. Here is a summary: Pros: -Awesome location. Supermarkets are in walking distance, as well as the adventure centre -Staff is friendly -Hostel has a good backpacking vibe -Luggage storage -Rooms are neat and have a sleek mountain lodgy design -Nice view of the mountains -Price is normal - Well equipped kitchen Cons: -ONLY Coffe for breakfast, nothing else. Didnt know that on my first day. Plus, the staff sometimes closes the coffe station too early. It is indicated that it closes by 9:30am, today I came in at 9:15am and it was closed! -Storage boxes for food are too small -Laundry facilities are occupied by hostel laundry until almost 7pm, even afterwards! Not acceptable -Bike rentals are expensive. 49 CAD for 2 hours. -No basic spices such as salt available (only curry, chilli, nutmeg, pepper)
Thanks to all team and especially to Bryony for his excelent service!
Lax enforcement of noise related rules, but great beds and amenities!
Great hostel! Super clean and tidy and the staff is very nice and helpful. You can go hiking and climbing. I would come back at any time.
We booked a private dorm room at Squamish Adventure Inn for the weekend and it was a perfect spot for our small group. Clean room & bathrooms, convenient location, relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were really friendly! Perfect after a long day of hiking. The patio was very nice, and the ice cream truck was a great treat! Will definitely be back.
It was my first time in a hostel, and I was pleasantly surprised. We had a private ensuite room. It was a little small, but we were comfortable. Coffee was provided. It sits by the water so theres a nice view. There are plenty of restaurants and a grocery store nearby. We bought a few things at the grocery store to have a quick & easy breakfast before leaving ing the room for the day.
Nearby activities: Walking trails. Rooms
Amazing view for coffee time and high speed wifi :) Nearby activities: Rock climbing, Cycling & Hiking Trails Rooms : 4/5 |
Love this spot for a weekend in Squamish. Our group of 4 stayed in a private room and it was clean and spacious. The ice cream truck was a nice treat after a long day hiking the Chief. Well be back soon!
Love the value. Looks like they made some updates recently and the staff are awesome! Super friendly and welcoming. Perfect location for hiking!
This was an awesome stay for our family. The riverside trail was perfect for us and our kids especially enjoyed the ice cream truck! The vibe is very inviting and we enjoyed meeting other guests.
Very organized and clean. Quiet and worked well for our family with small children in the whatever room.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, and incredible views! The recent renovations are nice and we appreciated the free towels, parking, and wifi. The location was very convenient for our family, near the chief & gondola. What a Squamish adventure!
This was a great place to rest our heads while overnighting in Squamish. We played Catan in the common area and enjoyed the postive hostel community that evening. Walkability: Its a short walk to restaurants, river side, and downtown.
Nice spot to stay! Rooms: Comfy bed, clean rooms Nearby activities: Close to biking
Hey there I got extra charges for no reason can you please return my money or send me any proof we did late check out or any other s pictures showing that we left any belongings or cake in room Nearby activities: This the first time I heard if you leave a cake in room and you get charged for extra day
We recently explored Squamish and our stay at Squamish Adventure Inn was perfect. The staff are exceptional, very friendly and helped us with hiking and mountain biking trails. Our hotel-style room was impeccably clean and catered to all our needs. We rate our experience a perfect 5/5 and cant wait to return.
Amazing staff and super clean rooms. It is a hostel and the private rooms re located through a dorm room. It was great. Would 100% recommend it.
I would highly recommend this Hostel. It was very clean and well organized. Staff was very courteous and accommodating. I will be back for sure. Nearby activities: Plenty of activities to do around Squamish.
Great location, clean rooms, excellent amenities and welcoming staff. Close to sea to sky gondola and the chief which is a great hike! This was a perfect location and stay for our family and we will be back soon!
Nearby activities: Walk across street to whole city. Rooms
Great location for windsurfing, comfortable rooms and amazing staff!
Great place, clean, good position, good beds. Some staff friendly and helpful, rest were pretty miserable. End of season blues? Kitchen quite small for the size, mixed bathroom on floor 3, not so good with teen girls ... Nearby activities: Climbing Central Walkability: 5 minute walk to shops
Doesnt refund on cancellations
Great place to stay for team sports!
I had a really nice stay at the hostel. I opted for a private room on the 3rd floor that was cozy and had a beautiful mountain view. Cleanliness: the common areas and bathrooms were kept tidy and clean Comfort: the room was cute and the bed was decent. The only discomfort I had was a weird smell from the room. I kept the windows open during the day but the estuary is equally smelly Noise: you can hear the hum of the highway on one side of the building, and construction noise from the other side. Apart from that, the walls are thin so you can hear doors opening and closing as well as people chatting. My room was right by the stairs so I could hear all the stairway traffic. Nothing out of the ordinary for hostels though! Location: so central! A very short walk to the downtown shops, cafés, and restaurants. I took the bus up from Vancouver and got dropped off at the Adventure centre, which is a 6min walk from hostel. Smoke Bluffs park is right there with lots of trails and climbing walls a walkable distance. Great location that I picked because I didnt want to drive this time around!
Stayed there recently. Clean room and great location for hiking. Really enjoyed the stay!
The people in the office were very nice and friendly. Everything was great for the price.
We had a really nice stay. We loved the view and staff are super nice!
So welcoming and super friendly staff
Recommended! They gave us a tour when we checked-in, super cool!
Private rooms are small and you have to trespass though someone s dorm to get to it. But the service and staff as well as the location made it worth every penny. I d definitely stay again and the view sells itself
Such an easy spot to get to! Free parking right out front. Quick and simple check in! Separate rooms for the shower, toilet, and sink. (all 3 can be used concurrently by 3 different people.) Lockable storage locker to put things while you are away. Marked kitchen storage and fridge space for each individual. One issue I had, though... the 2 can openers in the kitchen were useless. I had to use my own. BUT! I bet that will very quickly be remedied?! Ill be going back there again, and Ill let you know.
Never been in Squamish before. You were recommended to us, and I sure am glad! Friendly, convenient, good recommendations for dinner downtown -- we are fully satisfied, and will definitiely return! Walkability: two blocks downtown
We found a gem! Tidy rooms, great location to explore Squamishs outdoor playground and the staff are awesome!
The best hostel about, clean rooms, amazing staff and located a stones throw from world class climbing. What more could you want!
Good place for young travellers looking for a cheaper place to stay. Good and clean shared spaces. Not busy during my the week, and near to a lot of easy to access amenities.
Really chill place in a great location and for a good price, had a great visit
Great staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Shared kitchen odors were a bit overwhelming. Rooms: Clean. Nearby activities: Close (enough) to Whistler at a fraction of the cost.
THE greatest place to stay while exploring BC s best outdoor recreational sanctuary - Squamish. My wife and I not only received exception service but also extremely helpful advice on the best trails for hiking & mountain biking. Our room was also perfect for all of our needs & super clean. 10/10 stay and will certainly be coming back soon !
Squamish rocked! Pristine rooms, welcoming staff, and fantastic amenities. Ideal spot for mountain biking and close to Vancouver, the seamless check-in was ideal for us to get out on our bikes! Thanks SAI team! Nearby activities: Mountain biking!!!!
Great hostel. Clean and quiet with everything you need. There s a cozy fireplace area and a good communal kitchen. Staff are helpful and the location is great. We got a dorm room for a group and it was perfect for us.
The team is very shony and kind. You can use a kitchen with all stuff you need, there is even an oven. Nearby activities: The city center is only a few minutes walk save along the waterside. You get to hiking trails around Squamish in a few minutes. Safety: I felt save and welcome. Walkability: The city center is only a few minutes walk save along the waterside.
The location is beautiful and amazing Rooms: The doorms are very conmfy Rooms : 5/5 |
Really cozy spot. Clean rooms, perfect spot for hiking, and the staff were really friendly
The staff are friendly and accommodating. The studio room with kitchen is of good size and well-equipped. The hostel is just off 99 and 2 mins from a large grocery store. Definitely coming back. Rooms
Very cozy hotel and people and staff there are friendly

The Squamish Adventure Inn & Hostel was one of the best hostels I ve ever stayed in. Stunning location and great atmosphere. As I checked-in, the receptionist gave me a brief tour of the first floor and was very friendly. The staff seemed overall kind and helpful. I booked a 6-dorm bed and stayed there alone for three nights which was very comfortable. The washrooms and kitchen were extremely clean. Plus, the kitchen is equipped with so many tools, and there s never too few dishes. Besides, the surroundings have a lot to offer, especially for outdoor fans. I highly recommend doing the Sea to Sky Gondola and hiking on the summit:) To sum up, the hostel is definitely worth a visit.
Very nice and very convenient host
Could not have been better; even if i had planned it. Sometimes fate makes better decisions for us than we do for ourselves.
I found this place at the right time, as I was starting to emotionally fall apart along my travels it personally felt like the staff (specifically an Australian? guy at the front desk I m sorry I forget his name) picked up on this and assured me that they had room for me and everything would be okay. The rooms were clean and quiet. The showers were also clean and I just really enjoyed my stay, thank you to the whole team! Honestly.
Clean, inexpensive lodging! Love the kitchen to fix your own breakfast!
Everything was great. Especially the coffee in the morning ready to go! I hope you will think about an plug-in for those of us in EVs! A 220 v plug near parking would help support EV drivers and help fight climate change! thanks
Thanks to all the staff that helped with digging out my car from the snow yesterday, and then again on the road out when we got stuck again. Above and beyond, really great!
Excellent stay. Super clean, friendly staff, close to everything in Squamish downtown and the adventure centre. Feels very homely
Great stay
It was an amazing experience. We did stay there for three months and everything was perfect. Super friendly staff, nice room, great location at the water We will come back! Rooms
Very nice cosy and homely feel to the place. Kitchen system is far more organised than any other hostel Ive been in. Dorms have lots of locker space and bedding is clean. Very close to town and hiking trails. Weekly rates in low-season are a great price.
Very easy check in with a clean common area/bathroom. Women s room had a few bed bunks with a reading light at each bed as well as a sink/mirror. Great first hostel experience! You guys set the bar high!
Very welcoming environment
Super nice staff, very clean, good management
Our stay was great! We drove from Seattle to ski Whistler for a day. The Adventure Inn was conveniently located about an hour away (due to some ski traffic the next morning) from Whistler. Check-in was super easy and the staff was very friendly. They provided us with linens, towels, and pillows. We didnt use the kitchen or common areas much, but it seemed really great. Bathrooms were super clean and well stocked. We chose to stay in The Really Tiny Small Room. It was affordable and the perfect choice for our one night stay. The bed and pillows were comfy. The room basically is only big enough for the full sized bed and some standing room/space for your bags, but we were totally happy with it. Not sure if all the Tiny Small Rooms are like this but, our room was only accessible by walking through another groups room -which didnt smell too great. However, our room was and smelled clean so no complaints here. If youre looking for an affordable and convenient place to stay, I would totally recommend. It was a great gateway to the plentiful scenery and adventures of BC, without breaking the bank. Thanks Squammish Adventure Inn!
It is great to have the option of booking a family-friendly room with kitchenette; which is so handy, especially when travelling with a family! One small thing that would make a visit even better for a family would be to stock the kitchen a little bit more fully with amenities such as more bowls and cups and such (a coffee maker would be great) so us busy parents aren t having to run down two floors every time to get these things.
Had a great stay here, highly recommend staying in the hotel-style private room while in Squamish! Nearby activities: Sea to sky gondola
Quiet sleep space, working wifi, free parking, great location & nice to be able to meet other travelers to connect for activities - definitely will be back!
Everyone is very friendly. It has a great kitchen, the room was clean, and the location was great. I d definitely come back in the future.
This hostel appears like a great experience but it simply is not. Management does nothing to rectify an issue and when a discussion is started they make sure you are 100% at fault. Don t believe? Just look at the managements comments to poor reviews. They either look up in their system or attempt to start conflict with no resolution. Threats rather than a conflict resolution is how they approach a situation. You 100% get poor service. I recommend seeking other accommodations so you can enjoy your holiday at peace. Oh and check your credit card statements they like to falsely charge it. Thought this was a nice little hostel, however I will NEVER stay there again and I recommend you do not as well. No Rich, you won t track me in your system so you cannot further harass me. Noteworthy details: Poor communication and management.
Rich was a great host, the common areas were clean and comfortable, and our room was just what we needed for a great sleep after a long ski day. Thanks!
Honestly one of the best hostels I ve been too. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the facilities are great. Great hostel to meet people and have fun!
Very well organised hostel. Bathrooms, kitchen, bedroom and other sharing areas were super clean. Really good vibe. Well done to everybody!
Very cozy, close to downtown Squamish and very clean Food and drinks: They got a full kitchen Rooms : 5/5 |
Very tidy and clean. Also in a good shape. Kitchen was clean, modern and has two propane stoves. Service showed us around and instructed us to everything. In total I want so I had a really good stay Nearby activities: Many hikes, climbing stuff, activities at the ocean and sightseeing Walkability: City centre is about 10 minutes away and grocery, shopping and bars can be reached in-between a couple minutes
This was my second hostel stay ever, but it has made me a convert. From the easy location & access to outdoor adventure activities, to the warm welcome - and seeing that the reception is largely run by volunteers - to the cleanliness of the entire area, the absolutely AMAZING river-side view, the well-organized kitchen, the planned events...I cant say enough and am already scheming to come back.
The staff and the fellow guests were very kind and welcoming. If youre looking to travel solo and want to meet cool people, this is the spot! Mattress fairly comfy, get what you pay for etc Walkability: To downtown is very walkable however would recommend getting a car of budding up with someone who has one.
The location is a perfect, very close to Whistler if youre planning to drive around or back and forth. The rooms, kitchen and common areas are neat and clean. We stayed here for 3 nights, Highly recommend!
Great hostel, superb location, clean rooms, well equipped kitchen and nice people! Very glad to be back here for a second stay!
What a gem. Thank you for hosting us. We got the Quad Hotel-style Room for one night. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is cozy-- by the water and mountains, and super close to restaurants and stores. I like the vibe and its the perfect place to unwind. Well definitely come back!
As they say, its good, you repeat, its my second time, a great place to meet people and a good location to return to at night after a few drinks.
Very good
Friendly staff, beautiful town, great spot to be to access hiking, biking, skiing and kayaking. Had an awesome time staying here and would definitely recommend. We ll be back
Walkability: Easy walk to downtown Rooms
Rooms: Clean, quiet and friendly staff. Nearby activities: Can t name them all, but there s a bunch of activities here. Walkability: Few minutes walk from the center and the bus stop from Vancouver.
Sweet hostel in a great location under the Chief and on a walking trail along the water. Our room was small and comfortable, bathrooms were spacious and clean, the kitchen and common areas were well appointed and organized, staff were kind. Our 4 yo loved chatting with fellow guests, and we were happy to have it be his first hostel experience. Walkability: We walked to the visitor centre in the morning for a hibiscus ice tea and croissant!
Very nice hostel, good beds, a cool terrasse de and living room with topo-guide (hiking, climbing, cycling ) at disposal! Perfect to plan adventures around it and meet people to share them. No breakfast and no free towel however
Had a great time staying at the Adventure Inn. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere at the hostel was super welcoming overall. Great location as well for any outdoor activity you can think of.
Lots of rules- we were told there would be coffee in the morning and there wasn t. Food and drinks: No coffee
We booked a private room for two people. The room was way too small for 2 people (maybe 4 squaremeters) and therefore way too expensive for what it was. Besides that, the hostel was amazing. Location and cleanliness on point! Rooms: Private room for two is way too small (room 306-P).
Nearby activities: Lots of outdoor activities close by and staff was helpful in connecting us. First stay in a hostel was a good one! Rooms : 4/5
Great location near downtown Squamish with amazing river view and super chill vibe. We stay in the Hotel-Style Quadruple room with private bath. Room is small but got everything we need. Beds are decent and Im glad to say that I didnt feel any box spring, and had some decent sleep. Though located next to the busy highway, throughout the night we never had any trouble with noise and all was good. There was a lot of great areas to hangout and shared kitchen/dining area, and you could just sit outside chilling having a great view. Parking is limited and we were able to get a spot one of the nights. More parking is ~ 10 minutes walk down the trail, so it wasnt a problem either. We will definitely come back to stay!
Great place to stay. Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Quiet times are respected. Cant wait to return!
So first off, it looks like these guys have a system implemented that screens reviews. They have a give us feedback email, and if you click 4 or 5 star it asks to leave a Google review, and if you click 1 or 2 it sends you to a different place to give feedback, so that it doesnt impact their Google ratings. So take these ratings with a grain of salt. With that being said, its a decent enough place. Super close to everything, good location, the kitchen is well organized and clean. Downsides: Expensive, private rooms are very small, and noisy with so many people. There is currently construction going on close by too. One thing that frustrated me was that their activities section on their website said canyoneering however when I called to inquire about it, no-one knew anything about it, and just told me to contact a different company, which was frustrating. I would recommend the company NOT advertise activities that they dont actually offer or have partnerships with. Overall I would stay here again, unless I could find someplace cheaper that is available.
The only downside is its just next to the highway - so bring some earplugs. The traffic noise does die down at night of course.
Had a great time in Squamish and the adventure inn was a lovely place to be. The rooms were spacious (for a hostel), clean and bunk beds were sturdy enough to not shake every time someone moved. The rest of the hostel was clean and cozy with a nice backyard and patio area. Located near downtown and bus stops. The only downfall which was minor is it s located next to the highway so the sound of traffic is present.
We had a lot of fun here. The hostel is located right next to a river where you can go play. It is also right next to the highway, so very well connected. The only bad thing was the heat. I guess the hostel isnt made for the summer time, because it gets really hot and there are no solutions. It was hard for us to sleep one night. Overall loved it though.
Very good service, welcoming staff. Common areas very good. Very popular patio. The room in a dormitory leaves something to be desired. Ideal location but noisy due to the highway. Safety: Very safe!
Only stayed there for a night, but would have loved staying longer. Very nice hostel and staff
Amazing experience, great staff, and fantastic atmosphere met some awesome people.
Nice cosy hostel with added touches of character. Clean, comfortable rooms. Would stay here again.
Perfect place
We stayed two nights in the hotel room accommodation being a family of four. It s overpriced during peak season however this is true across all tourist places in BC. What we liked: Walking distance to grocery store and Main Street. Amazing hike up to Peak 1 of Stawamus Chief Trail nearby. Hostel offers many activities if you wish to participate with other guests. Kitchen had everything you need to cook breakfast or other meals. Super well organized. Drive to Whistler was easygoing and fast. What can be improved: Supervise activity in kitchen and guide guests on how to make the most of recycling. Room could benefit from basic amenities like shampoo and conditioner in shower. We travel light (hand luggage only) and don t want to schlepp these items. Staffing are hostellers so know how to keep things simple. Note: if you expect Marriott experience this is not for you. If you want to share a conversation with a global community you will feel welcome here. Rooms: Ours was facing the new apartment building construction on the other side of the river so during weekdays be prepared to hear noise starting at 7am which isn t a bad thing since you want to make the most of your day there! Nearby activities: There is a lot you can do outdoors and on a rainy day the Britannia Mining museum is a great option. Don t have to own a car since there are shuttle options. Safety: Had no issues whatsoever and since there always guests nearby you didn t have to worry about anything getting lost. The free parking was a great addition Walkability: Bike path in front of hostel leads to Main Street in 5 minutes so a breeze to get access to everything Noteworthy details: You get charged per guest and per hotel like room so be specific on how many family members you are staying with. We had to pay extra for three people since this was unclear in the initial direct booking.
great place
Great Hostel! Well located in Squamish and we really enjoyed the backyard with the BBQ and the hammock. The only down side was that the kitchen can get easily crowded during evenings because it is quite small (we stayed at the Whistler HI hostel and their kitchen was quite better). We stayed for over a week in a private room. We really appreciated the drawers but we would have appreciated more hangers to hang and dry our towels or other clothes in the room. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back :) Walkability: Grocery and downtown Squamish accessible easily by walk. For climbing, Smokes Bluffs is also about a 25min walk from the Hostel.
I booked a double bed private room and one private, walk-through room. Both booked rooms were perfectly adequate. The hostel had plenty of books on hikes, climbs, and routes for all sorts of activities. I was able to book hardtail mountain bikes directly through the hostel, which were stored on site. Its conveniently located next to bike paths, trails, and a river. Its within walking distance to a market and the downtown area. Service was clear and hassle-free. Hostel community was diverse in age, background, and athletic experience. Everyone seemed to be mindful of each other, like-minded outdoor enthusiasts, and overall great place to book. I would strongly recommend this place.
Perfect hostel for any traveler, hiker or climber. The staff is very friendly! There is a supermarket close by and hiking trails and climbing spots are in walkable distance. You dont need a car coming here!
Great location, good setup, friendly staff, great vibes. Would recommend this place to stay
Stayed here for a few weeks during the summer and had an amazing time! Incredible views all around the hostel and super friendly staff who gave some great recommendations on activitys to do in the area. I will definitely be back again soon! Nearby activities: Theres so much stuff to do in Squamish and the hostel seems like a hub for finding other people to climb, hike, and bike with!
Clean, walkable, and gorgeous outside space.
Lovely fun, young, clean and well run hostel. Great library of books with lots of hiking and biking trips around squamish. Would be 5*s if it wasnt next to the highway, but they cant help that! Its still nice and quiet in the rooms. Squamish > whistler
I spent a lot of time with the guys at Squamish Adventure inn. Superlative place and top welcome! Beautiful experience. The hostel, rooms and common areas are always well looked after and clean.
Stayed in a hotel style private room (with private bath)- cheap and cheerful accommodation. Excellent amenities such as equipment storage, BBQ etc. The room was basic as expected for the price paid but was clean and sufficiently equipped for what we needed. The kitchen facilities were well organised, ample and clean and the lounge area looked comfortable. We stayed on a ground floor room facing the garden/patio area- it was fairly noisy with people talking on the benches outside and movement of people upstairs but the quiet hours from 10pm were observed so not an issue for a good nights sleep.
Walkability: Very central location. Close to everything you could need as well as downtown Squamish! Rooms
Nice
Amazing people Amazing hospitality Walkability: Conveniently located
Walkability: Easy to walk into town and along river path Food and drinks: Well equipped kitchen, though busy at times and cramped Rooms : 4/5 |
Great place, great vibes from other guests, and very clean!
Stayed in a private double room we re a couple in our 30s. Pros: great location, nice people, generally quiet, clean bathrooms, free coffee for an hour. Lots of fun activities on offer if you re a solo traveler looking to jump in. Beautiful view from our mostly quiet room on third floor. Cons: Bed not very comfortable. Tons of dust and some old, stray trail mix under the bed. Towels not included (the room was not cheap). Rooms: Stayed in a private double room. It was adequate. Lovely view. Quiet. Bed not very comfortable. Tons of dust and some old, stray trail mix under the bed. Nearby activities: Lots of fantastic walking and hiking around, esp if you have a car.
Really nice and friendly staff. Very clean and welcoming place. Can recommend
Great place to stay for a night or a few. Lots of room options available, excellent location, friendly staff. Always seems to get booked up so book early! I will note it is close to the road and that can be noisy, but since it s a hostel I tend to bring ear plugs anyway. Will be back!
Best place to stay in Squamish :)
Cozy stay in a private room/shared bathroom. Staff was helpfull and very nice. Would stay again!!
Quite expensive for a small room but in a great location. A gorgeous building next to the river. Staff were very by the book and I felt a bit unsupported when I asked for help with something. A nice enough hostel but not worth the price. Rooms: Quite small despite being $100 a night. Dirty tissues in my big when I checked in. Walkability: 5-10 min walk to town centre Noteworthy details: Great view of the river
Great position, very close to downtown. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
We stayed for a night with my partner and a friend. Friendly staff, great location and good facilities. Would stay there again. Rooms
We had a really enjoyable stay here. The setting is excellent with the mountain views from one side and access to downtown on the other. Lots of shorter hikes from the door and tougher ones a short distance away. Also very convenient if coming up from Vancouver on the coach as the stop is 5 minutes walk away. We enjoyed hanging out in the cosy living room and how well organised the kitchen was - some of the nicest communal areas in any hostel weve been to and great to unwind after a long day. The fella who checked us in was also very friendly. Couple of suggestions - the bed and bedding in our room (301) was pretty knackered and actually quite uncomfortable to sleep on. Hopefully it can be updated soon. And, we heard quite a bit of noise/singing from 10-11pm from the dorm directly below us - perhaps the staff could do more to maintain quiet hours. Walkability: Very walkable to nearby shops, restaurants, cafes and trails.
Here is my attempt at a FAIR review. I think this is a solid 3.5 star hostel. For context I have stayed at this hostel 6 times. I am writing this review because my friends have wildly different experiences and I hope this can help everyone plan their next Squamish vacation better. -- The Worst Experience: Late Check Ins & Melted Groceries -- In my experience this is the #1 complaint that results in wildly different experiences for guests. This hostel has a late check in policy that usually kicks in around 10-11pm. This time is not clear and the front desk will charge you a fee. I personally have checked in with the front desk and then they still charged me a late fee. I didnt care at the time, but you need to be aware that if you are a weekend warrior planning to arrive late you will be charged. Checking in late also has a huge parking issue. The lot for the hostel holds ~15 cars. If you have a car seats, big gear, or other items you need to bring in you will be forced to park ~ 0.6 miles away in a big empty dirt lot. The only way back and forth is to walk in the dark with almost no lights. The refrigerators are also locked at night so if you arrive late with groceries you will have to throw away all your perishables. I know more than a couple of people who had their plans thrown off by the nature of these logistics. The best way for weekend warriors to deal with this is to plan ahead, but it is a significant point of annoyance for travelers who are not aware of this. International travelers will need to allocate a morning to grocery shopping instead of being able to bring prepared items the night before. --- The Rooms --- I have stayed in almost every private room this hostel has so far. The beds are firm and they are carpeted. When you book on the site, the exact photo you see is the room you get. If you are over 6 feet tall, you will NOT fit on these beds. Be aware the pillows are also very thin so for comfort expect to bring your own. Curtains in each room vary wildly so if light is a problem definitely bring light blockers. In the summer there is a fan in each room and the window opens half-way with a screen. Expect to leave the window open at night. Otherwise, this is very nice for a hostel. Bathrooms have plenty of toilet paper and the water is hot. --- The Kitchens --- You have two main stoves with one big island in the middle to prepare food. It comes complete with knives (bring your own sharpener if you want to cut anything seriously though), plates, bowls, cups, and a left-over spices bin. This is very nice for a hostel but international travelers may be surprised by how gross the kitchen can get. In the summer the compost bin becomes a fly and fruit fly nest that swarms the kitchen. The trash is open air as well so expect a certain level of grossness. Probably the least pleasant experience in the hostel. But this is also the most fun because here is where you mingle and meet people and swap drinks for groceries. The layout of the hostel is close and great for making new friends. You get 1 medium shoe-box sized plastic bin to put your groceries inside the fridge and also 1 plastic bin outside for dry goods. --- Summary --- There are some clear inconveniences that can really piss people off who have not visited before. It is not the most friendly for late night weekend warriors driving here after work. However, this is still the best (also only?) hostel in Squamish. Waking up next to the river and randomly encountering other crazy adventurers is still a delight that cant be replicated easily elsewhere. Hope that helps. Tip: Visit the ice cream car right next to the hostel in the summer and enjoy some funky unusual flavors next to the water.
The staff that hooked me up with her block so I can charge my phone she was amazing I wanted to know that
Small and cozy hostel, perfect for a relaxing vacation near the mountains. Not too much ski frenzy, few but friendly people. Loved the fireplace and the bear artwork in the kitchen. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Walkability: Easy to walk to trails, downtown and to main shopping centers
One of the best hostels weve stayed in. The staff were very helpful and location was perfect.
Awesome people, awesome rooms, super clean, great vibe!
