Canada, British Columbia, Squamish, Discovery Way
Japanese inspired food. We offer a variety of healthy, organic (wherever possible) and sustainable fresh foods. We also aim to offer as many gluten-free and vegan options as possible. Poke bowl, Vegetable bowl, Organic chicken bowl, Noodle soup (Udon / Soba), Salad etc...
I go here a ton !! We love it ! It’s always amazing. Plus the mini grocery store attached is such a delightful surprise. I recommend kululu for anyone that goes trough Squamish
On the way to Whistler in Squamish is this Japanese cafe. Great place to stop for lunch/snack. Poke was fresh and well done.
Good casual cafe run by Japanese. Its got the highest ceiling ever, which makes it look even bigger than it actually is. I only tried their latte that day because I already had lunch, but I would love to try some of their dishes, which looked delicious just from the menu & also by looking at what others ordered! The staff was also quite friendly, as how Japanese usually are.
Kululu Cafe in Squamish is a must-visit! The fish was incredibly fresh, and the spicy sauce added the perfect kick. Great spot for a quick and delicious meal.
Hidden gem. Great variety of healthy bowls. Great service and very clean. This will be our go to spot from now on from Vancouver to Whistler and back.
A must-stop whenever we're in Squamish/Whistler. One of the freshest poke bowls we always enjoy along with other casual Japanese eats. The staff is friendly and efficient and BONUS! There's a small Japanese grocery store in the back. Try the Japanese teas ($6.95 a pack), one of my favourite teas!
The salmon poke bowl was so good and enough to share with another person if you don't want to be too stuffed. The dish was well seasoned and not inundated with sauces or mayonnaise as is typical of other places. I was craving something sweet after the bowl so I got the butter tart. I was expecting it to be too sweet but it was actually ok (not saying it wasn't sweet. It's still a butter tart) and I enjoyed the couple of raisins at the bottom that were nice and plump. The employees here are also really friendly and polite
This hidden gem is a must try if you are in Squamish or even passing by. Japanese owners selling authentic healthy Japanese food. The soup of my chicken soba tastes just like homemade soup with no MSG and they loaded it up with lots of yummy vegetables plus tofu. They told me the soup was made one hundred percent with vegetables such as shitake mushrooms. The portions are great the money they charge. My wife's tuna trio bowl has massive pieces of very fresh tuna and absolutely loaded with a variety of fresh vegetables and a healthy scoop of fish roe.
Great poke bowls and close to the EV chargers.
What everyone else says. Hidden gem, super friendly and polite staff, food ingredients/quality/taste is top tier
Honestly, best rice bowl I ve ever had. Lovely staff. I wish this place was in Van!
Love this place! The food is always delicious and fresh, and I really appreciate that they don t use seed oils. The space is spacious and has a great vibe. I just wish they had locations in North Vancouver and other areas since its a bit out of the way and not centrally located in Squamish.
Outstanding fresh food
Great place to grab a coffee and have lunch. Staff is always so friendly. Today when I was sitting on the patio enjoying my coffee in the sunshine when, unprompted, a kind staff member brought a bowl of water for my dog. It s the little touches like that that make me love this place. 10/10 recommend Kululu Cafe!
These are not your average poké bowls. Tuna trio and salmon are delicious! Fresh sashimi, crisp vegetables, savoury rice. The cold tantan noodles are also tasty. Modern interior with nice atmosphere for work/study, meeting a friend. Nice mini-Japanese store in the back.
Hidden gem our new must stop place for a meal to/from Whistler. Real food, full of flavours, great range of food options, lots of seating and parking, warm efficient and friendly sevice. Two BIG thumbs up.
Great value, service, and delicious food! This place is underappreciated for sure.
It was amazing food. I didnt expect like this. But It was wild sockeye sashimi. And all organic foods. Food : 5/5 |
While we were looking for a place for lunch, we found this Kululu Cafe on Google. We didnt expect that much, but we found it very nice. Food was so good with all organic ingredients including sugar and milk. Especially, salmon was Sockeye salmon, which we didnt expect in ordering. What an amazing place!
I love it because of the kids deal. They give you apple and edamame and I love it.
Everything is perfect! It s our favourite place to stop in Squamish. Food is amazing, organic and gluten free options are available, delicious coffee and deserts, service such a lovely and friendly. Recommend everyone to visit this place!!!
wow this place is definitely worth a stop! have a drink and eat something! i loved the atmosphere- its super cozy and a great ambience. they have so many vegan options, food is ready pretty quickly and unbelievably tasty!! thank you;) definitely comin back
Great food and staff
My favourite place to eat in Squamish! I sure miss your food! Its truly the best!
Delicious and healthy!
Highly recommend, I got the soba chicken bowl, and it came very quickly and was very good. It s cafe style, but they bring your food to you like a restaurant. It s very aesthetic inside, great music, and everything is very clean. The woman who served us was very personable and we would definitely come again!
I had the rice bowl with chicken. It was very good. But I forgot to say no cilantro. But it was easily picked off.
Excellent food, comfortable atmosphere and very very reasonable prices. Im here for only 5 days but Ill be returning before I leave.
Delicious.
Absolutely great food. We custom ordered some bowls today for lunch and they were fresh fantastic , healthy and delicious. A gift to this great town. Food
One of the best gems in Squamish! Shocked its not talked about more.
Healthy Japanese restaurant. Tuna trio poke bowl was beautifully plated with thick cut tuna. I wish the three kinds tuna would have a more variated taste, with more fat in it. Overall good environment and the washroom sign is very cute.
Wanted to see what the hype was about and yes, worth the visit! Airy restaurant/ cafe with amazing sushi bowls.
Super cute and clean with really great vegan options (yay)! I got the Vegetable Soba which was delicious; the broth was a teeny bit too salty and a little too sweet for me. The staff was really kind and I ll definitely be stopping here on my way to/ back from Whistler.
Very different poke than I am used to. The freshness of the ingredients makes it clear theyre not just sitting out in a tub the way poke-specifc places have them. Excellent food. Very nice service.
Being from Oahu, we know poke, doesn t get any fresher than this fish, vegetables, rice .highly recommended, you can t go wrong
Wow, amazing food. That is all.
Fresh, delicious, healthy food in an airy space and with friendly service. The only place in BC that reminds me of being in Takadanobaba Tokyo! Just really good, clean, health food at fair prices.
Great Poke bowls and amazing service!
Amazing food, great service. Had the soba and the udon vegetable soup. The broth was flavourful and the portions were huge. Naimo bar was also great! Highly reccomend this place. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian soup options. Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan or vegetarian options. Parking: Free plaza parking
I had a soba and a London fog. Both great.
Amazing pokebowls and love their little supermarket.
What a nice surprise! In the industrial outskirts of Squamish we found this place with excellent poke-like food (but much better than the poke I know; I am normally not a fan). And also excellent coffee and pastries, unusual combination.
Happy with visit. Good food, reasonable prices, good service
The fresh fish is stunning. Fast and efficient service. Worth stopping on the way to/from Whistler!
Lovely cafe with delicious poke!! Great portion and appreciated the variation in toppings. We got takeout and they were quick to prepare the bowls. Staff were incredibly friendly.
Nice food! Good taste and lots of different types of ingredients in a bowl of the meal.
Really excellent poke, great service and pricing was fair. A great experience all around!
Great poke and combo meal for a very reasonable price. High quality and fresh ingredients. Will absolutely be coming back. Great for a pre or post bike ride.
Practical well designed café. The prices were fine. A medium coffee already has a big size, be aware of that ;) It tasted great. Staff is friendly
Food and dining area was amazing! Super cute restaurant, really worth stopping by. We are even planning on stopping again within the next week because it was so delicious. We tried the poké salmon and a poké chicken : amazing sauce and great variety of veggies and toppings. We are looking forward to try a udon soup next time
Selfishly, we d rather not share this review lest the place gets overrun by other foodies but Best Poke bowl EVER. Fresh. Tasty. Great value. Plus: the sashimi could only be fresher if the salmon was still flopping on the plate.
Wonderful lunch spot for a poke bowl and sweet treat! Fresh and delicious.
Very nice cafe, very big to sit inside with an awesome Japanese market. A lot of goods are hard to find elsewhere.
I enjoyed the food. 5 star
Cant believe Ive never written a review here after coming here for a while now! By far the best poké Ive had here... I have yet to find a place that is as good as Kululu...
Surprising place near Home Depot. Has vegetarian options and their bowls are very good.
Delicious and healthy! I love this place, found it a few weeks ago and have come back multiple times to try more food. Everything is so good, including the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere! I had the Japanese curry and poke bowls- highly recommend both! I love that they use organic, local, and natural ingredients. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian
Bless you Kululu for being the only store in squam to stock gochujang. Never change I love you.
Neat spot for a healthy bite and drink in Squamish!
Good value, recommend the veggie Udon.
Udon was tasty!
A favourite lunch spot, always fresh & delicious. Love that they have vegan options, like this tofu poke bowl! Their coffee is great as well, made with local coffee beans. 10/10 lunch spot
What happened to the previous bakery that used to be here? I heard the owner ripped off everyone and didn t pay her staff?
Wow wow wow! It was so good! The staff is so nice, the food was excellent and the place is super nice. They even have a little grocery inside their building. Strongly suggesting this place if you are hungry and coming back from Whistler!
Just tired here for our first time, and we will be back! Udon was fantastic great flavour, big portion! She got the tuna poke... She won the best meal option, so much flavor, so fresh, 100% recommend and will be back for sure
Best Japanese in Squamish, and maybe Whistler included. Everything they do is fabulous, but the poke bowl and matcha latte are standouts for me.
If you like rice and noodle bowls this is your place
Fantastic spot! Delicious poke, udon and hot drinks (latte and Chaga chai latte)! Healthy and good portions. Priced well. The staff were also really nice and friendly!! I also loved the amount of vegan options. Their baked good looked really good as well.
Visited for lunch with my wife and the food was amazing. I had the Chicken soba which reminded me of my mothers homemade recipe. My wife had the tuna poke bowl which I had a taste of and again immediately I was reminded of my moms cooking. We will be back again to try more items on the menu. Very authentic Japanese food.
Great food & friendly people!
The most friendly owners and workers, their poke bowl is the best in Squamish! 10/10
This is my favorite place in all of Squamish! I dont even know where to start their food is incredible and consistent. Its fresh tasting and personally I believe your ideal portion to cost ratio especially for the quality of food. I always get the tofu bowl in a combo, an extra 3$ and you get edamame, tofu pocket and vegg its awesome. The staff are very friendly and so accommodating. You can order ahead on their website or dinning in you wont be waiting too long they are quick to serve. I honestly cant stress enough how much I love this place, Id eat here everyday if I could afford it.
My favourite lunch spot! The veggie poke bowl is amazing and so fresh every time!
One of my favourite lunch spots in squamish. I love that they have GF and vegan options as well. The food is always fresh and its a good price for the amount of food you get
Absolutely wonderful food, friendly staff, spacious seating area and best value in town. Amazing Tuna Poke bowls with great fresh flavour and include avocado, not an extra $2.50 like at Steves Poke Bar!!
This place is fantastic! The fish is super fresh and the poke bowls are done well. A little different than what you might be used to, but its clear that the chef(s) put genuine effort into the recipes.
Best lunch ever! Salmon poke and Latte coffee!
Best Japanese food in Canada! Simple but ohishi!
Great place, super service and its NOT Expensive
Udon and pokebowls were very good. They have outlets set up and WiFi so you can work there comfortably.
Fresh, fast, delicious, and a great vibe
I loved this restaurant, the food came quickly and the Staff were very kind and the food was amazing.
Great, clean food. Reasonably priced. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered a chicken rice bowl and really enjoyed it. Recommend adding the combo that includes miso soup, edamame and gomai.
10 out of 10 would choose every time for a poke bowl. Amazing food and the staff/owners are so nice and friendly.
Good staff. Good food. Good view :)
Great restaurant with friendly staffs. Food are very yummy. Love this clean and organized place. Will come again for sure!! The food was very well cooked and had good service! I ll eat again here when visiting Squimish again.
Clean and cozy restaurant. Combo A and Combo B has 3 side dishes which is worth it and it s only 3$more. Veggies were super fresh and salmon as well. They also have grocery on the left side of washroom. All the products are reasonable price and I believe kids would love to go shopping there:)
pretty good japanese- style restaurant! The sashimis are sooo fresh and the flavours seem authentic as well. The dishes were a bit mild for me and my family but im guessing its a bit fushion style? however the decorations were neat and there was even a japanese market selling snacks and other goodies inside! amazing for a quick lunch:)
A place that offers healthy Japanese food. They have large tables if you have a large party.
Great lunch menu! We enjoyed a fresh salmon poke bowl with avocado and it was super. A very healthy and enjoyable lunch.
Delicious, friendly, and good vibes all around. I ordered vegetarian curry udon with a matcha latte. Came out quick and tasted great!
Great service, great food
Pleasantly surprised. Great food and reasonably priced
Awesome food.
Probably the best Poke bawl I have ever eaten. And they have really nice drinks, really good muffins and the welcome is nice. Fast efficient
Tasty gourmet cuisine st very reasonable price. No MSG. The interior design is awesome.
Salmon poke bowl was amazing
Salmon Poke and Cappuccino were great here
Such an amazing place with great people, amazing and healthful meals, as well as yummy matcha lattés and hot cocoa! If youre in Squamish, make sure to pop by and support this family-owned business. :-)
I love their poke bowls!
Very cute little restaurant with a green aesthetic. Food was served promptly and was both healthy and delicious and cheap! This is a hidden gem only 3 minutes off the highway through Squamish is well worth a visit.
I recently called to purchase a Gift Card and asked if they would be able to mail it on my behalf as I do not live near Squamish and they do not have e-gift cards. The employee I dealt with was prompt, incredibly polite, and extremely helpful. Thank you for the great customer service!
After hearing that the Kululu Cafe has Poke bowls, I just had to try for myself. I was not disappointed! It was so good, and I will definitely be back again!
Love!!!
Soba cold noodles are the best! First time I had it, its the bomb! Very refreshing!
We found this restaurant based on a google review. We were starving after completing the first peak hike. The place was very nicely decorated and the food was amazing. The ingredients were absolutely fresh. Everything was delicious.
Amazing! Fresh, large portions and very reasonable price. Got the tuna and tofu poke bowl. One of the best places for good food in squamish.
my favorite food in Squamish
The new location is fantastic, the food is still as good and made with the same care as their tiny location. And theres a grocery section with hard to find Japanese food!
Ordered a tuna poke bowl and it was quite good. The only thing I would say is that the rice had a weird tangy spicyness to it. I d also like if they added more cucumber, as 3 thin slices don t get me far. Overall, a great place.
Delicious & healthy food! We tried the udon and tuna & salmon poke (add spicy for both!) - highly recommend this place if you re in town!
Stumbled across Kululu Cafe on my way back to Vancouver and I was pleasantly surprised! It may seem to be an odd spot for a Japanese cafe, but I can reassure you that its a hidden gem. I came right when they opened at 11 and was surprised that there was already a line for it. We ordered the seasonal menu- cold tan tan soba and udon and it was refreshing and fresh. Would come back again when we pass by Squamish!
Stopped here for dinner on our way back from Whistler. We had the chicken rice bowl , and tuna and salmon poke bowl. Ginger / soy dressing made the chicken rice bowl it amazing. The poke bowl was delicious. Everything was so good, including the Americano I took to go.
Good poke bowls and amazing udon soup!
Wonderful food and coffee! Super friendly staff. I will definitely come back!
Delicious food and good selection.
Love this place. Great bowls of healthy foof. Tasty as hell and the service is top notch.
The salmon tuna poke! Woohoo!
What a lovly place :) food great, coffee perfect.
Love this place! Clean, fresh, simple and tasty!
After our stay in Nita Lake Lodge, we decided to stopover on our way back to Vancouver and eat at this nice rustic place called Kululu Cafe. The staff were nice and friendly and the food was good. I ordered the salmon poke bowl and the portion were plenty but the salmon itself were not that many so hopefully we can get more portion for the salmon next time! They have a Japanese store inside so if youre looking to buy your groceries, you can get it there as well. Whats a bit weird though is they do not check vaccine cards right now even though its mandatory province wide as they seem to not be a registered restaurant or something along that lines according to the note they put up in the front door.
I ordered the veggie udon with a soft boiled egg and it was simply delicious! Definitely recommend this place if youre looking for really good japanese food.
Delicious, nutritious, heavenly food!
The best kept secret in Squamish. We are here today for lunch so started with Miso soup the I am having the tuna trio bowl, yum looks great and it was. Now please let me comment about them Restaurant, from the outside where I am sitting its nice, clean and tidy but does not have the good looks the inside is so much better but on traditional Japanese style its simple, very clean and tidy. This has the most fantastic food that comes out of the kitchen. As the saying goes Dont judge the book by the cover. That applies here for sure. Such nice owners. Now they have moved to new premises they have maintained the superior quality and the new staff are great.
Your MUST rest stop before heading to Whistler. A hidden authentic Japanese mini grocery store, cafe and poke spot. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. The TRIP TUNA filled me up and I couldn t get over with how fresh the fish was. I wasn t able to try their cafe goods, but hopefully one day I will. Their mini grocery store has instant miso soup that wasn t powder - which was the one I normally buy. MAN, was I missing out cause they used REAL miso in the instant one. Their mini grocery store has more little snacks you d enjoy and they re also very helpful if you have any questions. Will def make this forever pit stop.
Tuna poke bowl was good, and I loved the iced mocha. Thanks
First time here, wont be the last! Really, really great coffee. Oat milk latte was delicious. Hubby let me try his brownie (it was one of the best Ive ever tasted!) ... big mistake as he ended up sharing half . Friendly staff, felt super safe too. Thanks!
Amazing atmosphere and food! They have organic tea and authentic healthy japanese food.
Awesome lunch! The rice bowls are really really excellent. Plus grabbed a few items for later from the great little boutique grocery shop. Made our day!
the food is very good and fresh. The price is also very reasonable. I will come back again for sure.
Such a sweet spot! We stopped here for a poke bowl and it did not disappoint. Food is fresh and delicious. The little grocery section had some good finds too. So we had lunch for now and lunch for later!
Loved this spot! Amazing food and got some great specialty groceries.
First time there
They offer unique dishes I ve never had before and are delicious!
Fantastic lunch (or early dinner) spot! We got the tuna trio bowl and chicken soba and both were fresh and filling without being heavy. Good options to add a combo if you re feeling a bit hungrier. Service was polite and fast! Love the Japanese grocery section as well and can t wait to pick up some items for longer stays.tuna
Excellent place to grab a coffee on your way to Whistler.
The poké spot
cute deco, nice cafe
Awesome as usual
Stoped in here on our way down to Vancouver on a snowy Tuesday afternoon. It was pretty quiet inside, but during our time there several people came in for take out and a few for dine in. I had the deluxe soba noodle soup which came loaded with mushrooms, chicken, tofu, lots of veggies, and half a soft boiled egg. If I lived here this cafe would be a regular go-to for me. Lots of fresh, delicious looking food, and a wonderful selection of teas. The green tea I ordered was one of the best blends I have had. 100% would eat here again! Its a little off the main road, but do yourself a favor and check it out!
Amazing tuna poke bowl!
Great service and amazing food!
The food was delicious and their staff are so friendly. We dined in and they gave us some edamame while we waited, as they had two take out orders to complete before they could make our food. Such a wonderful small restaurant. Would definitely come here again
A hidden gem in town!
Delicious and fresh lunches. I recommend checking out Kululu Cafe when passing through Squamish.
Great restaurant! Good quality local ingredients. They serve coffee but just a cafe have lots of great food
Great little shop! Its so clean and bright inside. Its very clear that the owners take great pride and care for what they do. I had a deluxe udon. The price was wonderful, the service was extremely fast and friendly and the soup was quite good! They use organic ingredients wherever possible and have a variety of local teas available. Highly recommend. I will visit again very soon.
Best in squamish
Healthy and delicious. A hidden gem!
Tasted good and had a generous amount of tuna. We did have to wait for almost 20 minutes which was quite irritating since it s a cold poke bowl.
Nicest host ever!! The tastes and costs are just like the food in Japan! So good!
Fresh, healthy, organic and delicious LOVE this spot! Clean and courteous too!
Hidden Gem! Great poke bowls at a great price point
Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing atmosphere. A++
Great bowls and servive
Such delicious food, best Japanese soup in Squamish!
Love this place very good food and priceing
I stopped at this cafe while I was in Squamish. I chose this place for lunch for I had found really good reviews online and Kululu exceeded my expectations on all levels. I love Japanese restaurants that are run by Japanese people and this place has that authentic Japanese cafe feel to it. I loved the atmosphere of the place when I walked in. It is clean, bright, minimalist, and cute. You have a clear view of The Chief from any table inside the restaurant. They have poke bowls with tuna, tofu, and vegetables, and also have udon noodles with chicken and vegetables. If you are ordering a poke bowl, I highly recommend that you get a combo deal for extra $3 which will get you a bowl of miso soup, gomaae, and edamame. Their miso soup was the best I had ever had. And yes, I have been to high end Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, but not many people seem to know how to make good miso soup; it is either too salty or too watery with no flavour in most places. Kululu got it right though and I enjoyed every drop of my miso soup. Also, their gomaae sauce was absolutely delicous with just the right amount of nuttiness and sweetness. Now I think of it, I should have asked the lady at the shop how they made the sauce. For my tuna poke bowl, I asked for hot sauce and they gave me a little bowl of spicy sauce made with Korean chili paste. It was quite good. The sashimi was fresh and the temperature of the tuna was perfect. It was such a delightful meal and I enjoyed every bite of it. If this place were in Kitsilano or Yaletown, I would go there every week. So, the next time you are passing through Squamish, please make sure to stop at Kululu and have a poke bowl with a bowl of miso soup. You wont regret it.
Best Fresh Food in Squamish ! Family run Eatery serving high quality fresh, healthy, and delicious meals .
Great value! And delicious Poké bowls!
Really nice stuff. Delicious food. We loved that place.
Superb!!
very nice place to have a coffee. food looks good as well
Food here was decent, but I would definitely not recommend getting the burgers here. Other than that they have very nice coffee and bannocks which make a delicious snack. But in my option their highlight is the Saskatoon berry smoothie, absolutely delicous! Definitely would go here for a light snack but maybe not so much for a meal
Cute little cafe-style mom & pop shop. Great quality Japanese inspired dishes with a modern touch. Chef is authentic Japanese. Poke bowl and udon were delicious!
Best place in squamish!
An unassuming small family-run cafe tucked away in a non-descript plaza pushing out unbelievably delicious Asian bowls and soups. If youre in the area, you must try. Even if youre not in the area, its worth the short drive through Valleycliffe to try. You will return again and again, I promise.
The best poke bowl I ve had, and delicious lattes too! Food orders may take a little longer during lunch hours as they are very in demand so just plan accordingly, but great food and service overall!
Love this place. Friendly staff, good service, and delicious food and coffee.
This is a hidden place for Japanese food. Little pricy but good quality food.
Really tasty and real healthy
Great organic ingredients friendly staff with even better prices , I ll be coming here more often.
Favorite place for a vegetarian based bowl, I dont think I can ever get sick of it! Also the nicest people youll ever meet run the place!
