Dine in, drive thru or take out! Mags99 Squamish is a fan favourite for FRIED CHICKEN, CHURROS ,burritos, salad bowls, taco salads , poutines, Nachos, MEXICAN STREET STYLE CORN and so much more. Family / kid friendly meals, huge portions and great price. Fantastic NEW LOCATION across Walmart intersection on Commercial way. Full service Bar with amazing Salted Lime Lager or margaritas for your Mexican fix!
Ordered 3 piece and poutine and they gave a small wing as the 3rd piece instead of a drumstick. I ask if they can switch it and they decline. The chicken is so tasteless, hard and dry. Clearly reheated. I couldn’t even finish 1 piece.
I feel horrible for publicly saying this but that fried chicken is not it. It’s not moist at all, the batter is just weird breading and it feels like it was cooked more than once. If you’re going to advertise fried chicken that does not follow a traditional recipe for the area you’re in, call it something else? Indian version of Mexican seasoned fried chicken?? I’m gonna have to only go back to Chibas now and that sucks bc Mags99 is the OG Service and cleanliness was very good though 🥹 @mags99 -in reply to your reply: my review has nothing to do with your staff. Its the flavour profile .. and nobody said anything about masala. I visited you at least 6 months ago and the FC recipe was different
New location is nice but quality has gone down. They’re using basmati rice in Mexican food. That’s strange. Very clear there are new owners. Sorry but I’ll be going to Sunny’s from now on
Haven't been to Mags99 in a while! Had a great experience last time but I was rather disappointed this time around :( It was rather quiet on Saturday late afternoon coming down from Whistler. The staff were nice! The fried chicken were unfortunately overcooked, the batter/skin was rather on the darker side and the meat was very dry :( 5pc for over $22... Hopefully next time it will be better :)
This place has cool vibes. We used to come here a lot. But honestly the food is garbage now. The burger was equivalent to a McDonald’s burger, the burrito was dry and the elotes were inedible. Honestly as a local I would just not eat here again. We told the staff there that the food was really not good, we didn’t ask for any money back just wanted to let them know and they really didn’t seem to care.
Mags 99 Mexican Cantina Review (5 stars) Hidden Gem for Family Meals! Just had to rave about Mags 99 Mexican Cantina! I ordered their online 18-piece family meal and was incredibly impressed. The chicken was the star - not greasy at all, and you could tell they put real care into the preparation. Everything had delicious, unique flavors: The gravy had a special seasoning that was fantastic. The coleslaw wasn't swimming in sauce, which was a huge plus. The macaroni salad was creamy and perfectly balanced. This is a fantastic option for feeding a crowd. Not only was the food delicious, but the price point was fair– way cheaper than getting fast food from McDonald's for the same amount of people!
We stumbled upon this place on our annual summer Whistler trip. The owner was so kind to direct us on her favorite dish, the atmosphere was great, and the food was absolutely amazing (not to mention the affordable price). We’re planning on making this a new stable place to visit 😁
Great atmosphere, love the decorations and painting on the wall. Food is was delicious, however we were served quesadillas with about a spoon of sour cream, we did get a second serving of sour cream but unfortunately it was a smaller serving then the one that came with quesadillas.
I have ordered Fried Chicken Quesadillas a lot of time and it was absolutely delicious all the time.
I should have known this place was bad when there was no one inside. This was the worst fried chicken I ve ever had in my life. If you like food that is incredibly dry and overcooked then come here. The fries were HARD. How hard is it to cook fries? Easiest thing you can cook and they messed that up. The best thing about the meal was the can of coke. There s no toilets. No place to grab sauces/water/or napkins. How is this place still open?
The food is always delicious, and there s something on the menu for everyone. Truly a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend stopping by! Food
taco bowl was gross!
Delicious food !!Amazing 5/5
Thank you Diksha for making our weekend experience a great one
Delicious food at a very reasonable price !!
Ordered food to takeaway. It was brought out cold and tasted quite bland
Good food at a good price. Very, very dirty tables and dining room. Food : 5/5
Bloody awful. This used to be a fantastic place, but this was one of the worst meals i ve had in years. Add to it in cleaned tables, washrooms lacking toilet paper, and glacial service. The mighty have fallen. Food
Good mexican food stop
Food was awesome
Chicken chimichanga and mexi fries
Staff and food is lovely. I forgot my purse and the staff found it and kept it safe for me.
Staff is really good over here.Food was too delicious
Incredible dining experience! The staff was friendly and attentive, and This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations! The menu offered a great selection, the food was divine, and the service was top-notch. A new favorite spot! Food
No flavour at all
The food was amazing. The falafel burrito and quesadilla was very nice. At last the service is very fast and environmental of restaurant is excellent.
This place is a scam! It is not Mexican! The servers and cashiers are super rude! Here is Indian cuisine, I guess, but not Mexican! The taste was awful!
We came in at 8:15 and they told us that theyre closing soon at 8:45. We checked their hours and they close at 9. They just wanted us to leave sooner than later. The food was ok, my fried chicken was dry and they told me there is no spicy option even though their menu says otherwise. I would much rather go to Sunny Chibas. Food is much better and the service too.
I was impressed with the excellent customer service I received. The product exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and performance.
We had three different meals and all were sub standard.
Still the great food they have had for years, but lost all its cool atmosphere from the days when it was on the highway. Tucked away now in a mall of mostly other eateries, a TV showing the poker channel instead of some background music, its just not the same. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes; accessible entry and dining. Not sure re washrooms.
Food wasnt as good as I remember. We were excited to go there for.lunch simce we use to all the time when we lived in Squamish. The service, well, what service, amd a Mexican restaurant playing Punjabi music. Not quite the Mexicain experience it used to be. We also wanted margarita.with tequila and were told they were out, yet there was a bittle of Jose behind the bar. Seems the person on staff there , really was more interested in her phone than serving customers. Personally.....we will not be going back. Use to be such a great place. This was the new location accross from Walmart.
The food here is disappointing Fry chicken dry quesadilla didnt serve with salsa and dry Food : 1/5
Food was mid. Expensive, low quality and no taste. Old dry ingredients....
Great tip for delicious food!! Nice atmosphere, cozy. Beautiful exterior. Friendly staff and - great food!! Wheelchair accessibility: Possible without any problems
Ordered the fried chicken chimichanga and was severely disappointed. It was just basmatti rice, chicken, and mayo. No salsas or anything?? There was a couple in front of me trying to get a refund for the quality of their food so maybe I shouldve taken that as a warning. Food
Loved the nachos. And fries are really good
Uninspired workers, coleslaw salad inside the burrito, and bland fried chicken. Go to the Indian restaurant nearby or chopped leaf instead.
Great service, you order at the counter and seat yourself. Lots of space to sit inside and outside. Good for groups.
Love the falafel butrito! Service is great too! Vegetarian options: Falafel burrito is my go to! Food : 5/5 |
We loved it! The food was so reasonably priced and SO GOOD! We drive through Squamish a few times a year and this will definitely be a new go to place for us. Thanks so much for a great meal!! Pictured below is the taco beef chimichanga and a fried chicken quesadilla
The food was solidly mid level. Nothing to write home about but it certainly fit the bill when craving Mexican food. The rice and beef is fantastic, but maybe too much rice. To go food was quickly served
Food was really delicious . Staff service was really awesome.
Great tacos here! Also had the mangonada icy drink (half spicy as I am a bit of a lightweight) and it was delish - slightly sweet with a nice salty/spicy kick - just like they serve fruit in Mexico!
Burito is not tasty. Only rice and no flavor. Would not recommend for this price.
Today I visited there , food was very delicious as well as the customer service was too good . Pawan served us with very good behaviour. I reall like the service and enjoyed the food .
Place is only a shadow of the former Mags 99. Food quality has gone down significantly.
I have gone a few times now, and every time the chicken is just SO DRY. Please dont cook it for so long, and try changing the oil a bit more often.
We got three orders of enchiladas and two mangonadas. The mangonadas were so weird and salty and were almost entirely bright red. We couldnt even drink them. The enchiladas were edible, but the sauce and the obviously bagged shredded marble cheddar werent particularly authentic, and the beans in mine were crunchy. Also, they must have sat for a while before they were brought to us? The tortillas disintegrated and the paper in the takeout boxes was so wet it tore with every bite, ending up with pieces of it in our mouths. Not at all worth the money. I wont go back and would not recommend eating here, just go down the road to sunny chibas.
Delicious cuisine, beautiful presentation, and a great selection of drinks! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, making for a fantastic evening out. Highly recommended
Burrito was horribly dry and void of the usual mexican popping flavour. Wont be back.
The fish tacos are perfect, gorgeous spot and lovely staff. Vegetarian options: Decent selection of vegetarian options and easily customizable menu items Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible and enough room to park easily.
The food was amazing! Try the Fried Chicken Quesadilla! Parking: Lots of parking Food : 5/5 |
Awesome service. Great food. Well worth the trip
Super yummy vegan options and lovely friendly staff in a very unpretentious atmosphere. A perfect post-camping stop.
If you are looking a Mexican food. I definitely do NOT recommend this restaurant. There is nothing Mexican about it besides the decorations. There was no chips & salsa. There was no hot sauce or at least guacamole. Please don t sell fake Mexican food to a real Mexican family.
We ordered the Enchilada casserole and Mexican Corn Meal Deal.... It was SOOOO delicious. The corn was finger licking good! Great meal for a great price Food : 5/5
Not impressed at all. Order a Veg quasadia, they put beef on it. Order fried chicken poutine they put reg chicken on it. Obviously they cant get there system right with skip the dishes. If youre going to use skip then at least check the order page. Or when a order comes in look at the requests.
The fried chicken quesadilla is the go-to, every single time.
New location is much more spacious inside, food is still great and the service is awesome.
Food is great! Great customer service. Love the sauce of their chimichanga :)
Vegetarian options: Best Waitress in Squamish Recommended dishes
SUNNY CHIBAS is still the best, because of the owners. They know how to make Mexican.. After 4 years of being away from Squampton, I found myself in town. Oh look Mags99 have up the food truck and have a building again. Too bad its not the same as it used to be. Its the same level of trash you serve in Port Alberni. Great service, horrible food, Taco Time is better than Mags99, and at least with TT, I can order extra hot hot sauce, the stuff you have is tomato juice with vinegar.
Nice people, food is great, nice decor. Def a place to eat in Squam!
Visited on a quiet Saturday lunch time. We went in the dinning room and didnt see any staffs or customers. It was pinch silent. We were confused if the restaurant was opened. Finally saw a staff behind the counter on her phone. Then music started to play in the dining room. We ordered the 4-piece fried chicken with fries which they are known for. Waited about 10 minutes before the staff brought it to our table. The chicken were quite dark. 1 breast, 1 thigh, 1 very small full wing and 1 very small drum. From my experience, fried chicken dont get cooked in 10 minutes. I was expecting undercooked or refried chicken when it arrived. All 4 pieces were overcooked and dry. Texture is almost like the chicken has been boiled in water for a long time, breaded and fried again. I felt sick for the rest of the day suspended I had unsafe chicken because it was the only meal I had. It could be one of my worst fried chicken experience ever. On the flip side, the sysco coated fries was fantastic. Perhaps the restaurant should be known as fries instead.
We canceled our order within a few minutes of paying and owner insisted on that we take the food because fried chicken and poutine is ready within 2 minutes of ordering . Absolute worst experience in Squamish. After a very long and rude conversation with the owner, staff was very friendly and cooperative but owner kept insisting on charging us regardless.
Amazing food with super friendly service
Ordered 5pcs snack pack chicken and mini burrito. Quite disappointed with how dark the chicken was, they must have over fried it or something and the burrito was so dry.
The only thing I find worth ordering here is the fried chicken poutine, but even that is inconsistent at best. They recently introduced two sizes, and the last two times I have ordered the large for $25, it was in two completely different sized to go containers with very different portion sizes. I was confused why I paid $25 for a significantly smaller portion this time, to which the manager very poorly tried to convince me it was the same. It was definitely not. You need to keep in mind that inconsistency, over charging, and dishonesty will only lose your customers.
Super disappointing. Cold food, the burrito lacked taste.
Imaging food and great food service . staff is helpful and polite . definitely i recommend to everyone Food : 5/5
Everything was so dry. It was hard to eat. My husband could not eat his it was so bad and no flavor. I could not even make my toddler eat his which was only a cheese and bean quesadilla. Very disappointing. Waste of money.
Garbage. Terrible service, luke-warm, obviously reheated meat. Disgusting, took a few bites and left. Don t waste your money.
Food quality need to improve .
Its okay Chicken was a little dry and I thought it was weird they had no salsa for Mexican food, which definitely would have helped the dryer chicken. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesnt have salsa?? But the portions were good.
New location good food. Was quiet. Loved the chimmy changa
Mags is a drag. Plain food, no hot sauce selection, and ambiance was too busy and neon bright.
Thank you so much for your kindness. It was so delicious :)
Food was good and employee were very generous.
Loved the food and the presentation. Was worth every penny. Will Totally recommend to my friends this place. Food
We ordered the fried chicken chimichanga and fish taco salad. Chimichanga is a bit spicy but tastes good. Highly recommend the fish taco salad!!
Good fried chicken but the vegan and chicken burritos were both extremely dry and the worst burritos we ve ever had. I left half my burrito which is unheard of for me to waste food! I would ensure you ask for salsa and guacamole add-ins for the burrito (ours was just rice, chicken and some lettuce/cabbage).
lovely lunch the chimichanga was delicious and filling
Worst restaurant experience I had in a while. Sad and dry tacos, old tasting fried chicken. Chicken quesadilla tastes like tuna no fresh veggies, no pico or guac. Nothing green really. Strong on ketchup n hot sauce tho. Very disappointing dinner date.
Ordered tacos and chips with dip to go. Would have dined in if we new it had a bar and seating, but everything we saw online about this place suggested there was no dine-in other than a patio which we assumed was a summer thing. That might explain why the place was empty on a Saturday night, there was one person in a booth by the bar but they could have been the bartender for all we could tell. We enjoyed the chips and dip, good quality chips and we really liked the layered dip. We ordered 4 tacos, 1 fish, 1 beef, 1 pork and paid an extra $2 for a fried chicken taco. We had problems figuring out what was what. My partner would have the fish and pork again, I would probably just have the pork, neither of us cared for the beef it was spicy but lacked beef flavour, and the fried chicken was not worth the extra $2.
Good Food, great Service and very friendly Staff.
This Mexican restaurant has a nice atmosphere with paintings and in the Mexican style. The food seems quite oily and apart from that I thought it was a bit expensive to 3 tacos and 3 quesadillas.
It s ok if you are really hungry. I ve never had a burrito with ground beef in it before though, pretty disappointing considering they used to use brisket. The fried chicken is probably the way to go
One of the best chimichangas I ve ever had , a must try in Squamish !
What an awesome surprise. I did not imagine this place to be out here. Food was fantastic and the staff was jovial. Lots of veggie options were available.
Stopped for lunch. Food was ok. Pretty bland but there was plenty.
Food was greasy and bland, but the bar side of the restaurant was fun looking and charming
I visited this restaurant and was impressed with their friendly service and delicious food. The menu offered a great variety of dishes to choose from, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience
Amazing food and service
The food is delicious and authentic, with generous portions and reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance is lively and perfect for groups or casual dining. Dont miss out on the delicious Mexican and fried chicken
The best Mexican restaurant in whole Squamish #alwaysfavorite
The behavior of the staff was very good and also the way of their service and serving food was the unique and amazing. I wish to go again and again there, such a nice place to visit and the view outside the restaurant is justtt wwwaaaaaoooo
exorcism
Best Mexican and they treat very well
Awesome
awesome
Very good service at affordable price with a amazing view.Staff is very friendly and kind.
Delicious food
Hygienic restaurant amazing food quality.. Staff behaviour is well maintained
It was good Came after a visit in whistler. We came in hungry Had a the maximus Burrito And the 5 piece fried chicken Burrito was good with some intresting flavors Chicken was ok nothing special Overall a good spot but nothing special if you are in the area worth the visit if you are looking for mexican food
Good mexican restaurant North of Squamish in a newly developed area. Very clean and friendly service. The chimichanga was really tasty and the sauce was creamy and spicy. Disappointment with the fried chicken in the taco and the poutine as it was cut up chicken strips, not fried chicken as Id expected. Easy parking, decent food, reasonable prices.
Ordering online was difficult as the payment method was declined two times.we had to order in person, place looks clean and the food was ok.
Fast great food! Parm was great too, give this fella a raise.
Really delicious. 10/10 would recommend.
Hmmm great peppercorn poutine sauce...
I ordered the pork quesadilla. You get a good portion for $19 and it was really tasty. The only problem was that it was super oily to the point where I wasnt sure if I even wanted to finish it. It would have been better if they had drained the pork meat before using it in the quesadilla. The atmosphere isnt very inviting inside. I thought it was a bad design choice separating the bar area from the rest of the restaurant. Our server was nice though!
My family and I had a great experience here. The customer service we received was great. The young man was helpful and polite. After I ordered I jokingly said that I ordered way too much and he said dont worry we have takeout containers. I ordered the 5 pc snack pack, 2 kids meals, chimi and the layer dip. The layer dip was great, $6.99 so it was a great price and the serving size was decent for that price. The chimi was awesome. My hubby and I took our first bites at the same time and gave each the OMG look. The fried chicken was ok. Reminded me of a place in Vancouver. The skin was crispy. For our 5 pc we got had a mixture or wing, drum and breast pieces. The kids ate it and liked it. By the time I ate the breast piece it had cooled so in typical white meat style it was starting to become tough and dry. I am however, confident it wouldve been yummy if I ate it hot. All in all a great dining experience and I would drive up from Vancouver just to eat here.
fosters a great atmosphere, great for kids. Crispy Fries
I am always excited to try new Mexican places, but I was very disappointed here. The chimichanga I ordered had raw rice and a large portion of the wrap was undercooked. The sauce was only a 1/10 on a spice scale despite asking for spicy sauce (which I was told was possible). The churros were...cake-like and not crunchy or delicious (also didnt have the apple or peach cobbler for the churro tacos). Maybe their fried chicken tastes better, but I wont be coming here again to find out.
My favourite mexicana fried chicken on sea to sky, less bussy than the highway. Keep them bussy....
Chicken Chimichanga is the best!
First time been in this place, food were amazing very clean and comfy place to eat with family. Best service by pawan she suggested me best items, really liked everything here i will definitely come here again and suggest everyone to come.
Excellent customer service, delicious food.
Had the taco salad. Food was un edible. Chicken was rock hard and dry like it was kept under a food warmer for a couple of hours. Absolutely disgusting. Don t waste your money!
Great
Really good food .
Good food
Today i had lunch at mags 99 with my friends i had taco salad , regular poutine every things was great , best mexican food in squamish .great food service by pawan . Thank you
We are addicted to the chicken enchiladas Service is also good.
Food was okay, nothing special. Youll need to wait a while for the orders to be taken and served.
Great food great service I work there and I recommend coming here probably the best Mexican food I ve had
Chicken was not flavorful and burrito was average. Probably wont try again.
Excellent food and very friendly staff. I highly recommend the taco bowl and chimichanga. Perfect level of spicy and so much flavor!
Nice quite place Food was amazing
Service was very slow. Ordered a chicken quesadilla it came basically empty. Disappointed.
The food was poorly made i do not recommend wasting your money here
Very good food (try the chicken burrito) and a great selection of craft beer.
Chimichangas were not your classic chimichangas but my goodness were they delicious. Quessidillas on fire as well.
Pros: - Lots of seating - Good service - They make a select few menu items well Cons: - This is one of those restaurants where only a few items are worth the price point - you have to know what the locals order. For example, the churros were soggy and limp, and I remember the upsized burrito being larger. If its your first time and youre overwhelmed by the menu, perhaps ask the staff which items are popular and get that.
Had a one piece chicken and a burrito. The chicken was unfortunately dry. The breading was crunchy and not too oily but imo lacking seasoning. Might be created to eat with a sauce because it was better once I used the hot sauces provided. The burrito is also a bit dry with its construction. Also needed some sauce to make it moist and add flavour.
Fast food service and staff is also very eco friendly
I had fried chicken, chimichanga and poutine that was delicious and friendly service. Best mexican food in squamish Vegetarian options: Lot of vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Good atmosphere for kids
Saw a cockroach in the washroom. And another behind the counter as my wife was ordering. Canceled order and ran. Management feel free to reach out to me if needed. ***** We were in there at 1210pm today. Single girl working from counter. 4-6 construction guys came in right after us***** Emailed owner and response was weak at best. Also, interesting three consecutive 5star reviews right after my cockroach review. Actually after every bad review, there are three 5stars immediately afterwards. Also check the review names.......Tisk tisk..... Im done with this. Dont eat here, you may get sick.
Nothing like the old Mags99. Disappointing.
The Best Mexican dishes, fried chicken , & poutines in the sea to sky corridor, and the service is second to none !!! Hearty meals at a great price you can t go wrong !
i had chimichanga, poutine ,fried chicken . amazing food and great service .
i tried chimichanga with lime margarita that was appetising the server pawan is so polite and active . best mexican restaurant in squamish
Nothing like the old Mags99! The burrito is dry and the rice is raw.
What a must stop place! The food was delicious, the environment super pleasant, the server (Prawna, I hope Im spelling properly ) super attentive and kind. The music is superb, live music, what a treat! Spectacular fun evening! Highly recommend, especially on Fridays.
Average food, above average price. Below average service.
Awesome spot to stop for lunch! The service was top notch, chimichanga was ridiculously delicious and great beverage selection! Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Waited for service for some time. Left without ever seeing an employee
Mags is my go to take out spot in Squamish when I don t want to cook! They always accommodate our order modifications (I ve got picky eaters) and never mess it up - it s a solid spot. We love the burritos, fried chx, tacos, fries and baja sauce! Easy drive through option (you can also call ahead so it s ready - so easy when you have kids!)
Great place for a quick bite! Their staff is wonderful and wait times are short. They have lots of vegetarian options. I especially love their cauliflower burrito.
Very bad food . Doesn t even taste like Mexican food
They serve really good food and the taste and quality is amazing.
The service was good and cooperative.
Decent food. Not sure its worth the price. But the real problem is the lady working the drive thru window. Almost comical how rude she was
The food was amazing. Fried chicken tacos were pretty stellar. Really cool little spot. Bonus was the live music.
Great service and my chimichanga was super delicious!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!
Been a long time since I enjoyed a Chicken Quesadilla. This place makes the best Quesadill.
I ordered a bucket of chicken and fries I got told half hour till delivery took an hour and 10 minutes food was cold as ice and nobody seem to care
I was really disappointed with my meal here. The margarita I ordered was not drinkable. I ordered a Jarrita to water it down, it was so unpleasant. I ordered 2 tacos, chicken and pork. Both meats (especially the pork) were beyond dry. The pork was also burned. Made you wonder how old it was. I wouldnt have eaten them but I was hungry after long bike ride. After, I wished I didnt eat them. Skip!!
This place is so underrated and unknown. Best fast food stop. !! After living here for a year, I came to know it exists. Vegetarian options: Not much for vegetarians as always in Canada. But the falafel was tasty.
The burrito bowl was delicious!
This place used to be great. I d get takeout 1-3 times/week. Then one time for no reason my burrito was FULL of hotttt sauce. Now, I like hot sauce, I like hot food, but this was way beyond. I honestly felt like they played a prank on me or something. I called with a burning mouth and was offered a free burrito. I showed up a few days later and the same person who had offered me a free burrito said she could only give me 50% off now. Frustrated, I asked for the manager/owner and after her initial skepticism she gave me my free burrito. Now the real issue. That replacement burrito was beyond dry, there was ZERO sauce in it. Being that I had just complained about too much hot sauce I though ok, they were just being extra careful. So the next time I go in I tell the person I would like the normal amount of hot sauce, not zero. I get home, same. Dry. Burrito. I tried maybe 6-8 times to get a normal burrito and I noticed that when I see the staff who recognize me I get a dry, sauce less burrito. But if it was a new staff member I d get a tasty burrito with sauce. So I go in, see who s working the counter and just leave if it was one of the staff who like to give me (not hot) sauce less burrito. This has been going on for over a year now and I just had my last dry burrito. There was a new person at the counter but after I ordered one of the old staff saw me and sure enough, I get a dry/barely edible burrito. I give up. Your staff have successfully scared me away from your business.
German The experience was less impressive. The service didnt seem particularly attentive, and the food was expensive, with some mediocre quality that left something to be desired. The beer was good, but it came from the neighborhood brewer English The experience was less impressive. The service did not seem particularly attentive, and the food was pricey, with moderate quality in parts that left much to be desired The beer was good, however, comes from the brewer in the neighborhood
Ive been here a few times over the years, in several locations and am sad to say that the food is still quite disappointing. Flavor is lacking to the point where the grease just isnt worth it, you know!? Great service and atmosphere though! Ill give it another shot sometime in the future, but not for a while. Sorry to say...
I recommend this place if you re staying at the hotel down the road. I ve ordered 2 takeouts for dinner on separate days and it s been fantastic. I recommend the burrito bowl with fried chicken and their tacos are large and packed with goodies in it. I don t know about the atmosphere but it looks chill. The service has been fantastic so far. And it s surprisingly cheap as well. If you got a meal allowance this is the place to spend it.
No thanks
I had their tacos and they are not at all worth the price. Wont recommend it
Mags99 is now my to go Mexican restaurant in Squamish, food was delicious and service was absolutely amazing. Server Pawan was quite friendly. I really loved their ambience.
This review is for the fried chicken. I have now gone there 3 times to only have the chicken. I think the non-fried chicken may be the popular items! Looks like a great place to come as patio is outside and the place is very spacious. I should add, the service is very good. I will come back and try the other menu items!
If you are looking at authentic place this is not the one. The service is just no service. The food is just OK but not dont expect much. The good thing is that there is gluten free options
perfect taste, excellent view, top notch quality of hygienic, safe, friendly environment i love it.
We came here for a quick lunch on our way back home and we won t be back. Burrito (minimus size) was tiny and we regret paying $10 since the taste was only OK. For tacos, the meat was lukewarm and under-spiced and there was too much cabbage. Kids menu had two drumsticks (any child under 7 may have trouble eating that) - chicken tenders would have been preferable. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience.
Love this place! They make really great food. Too bad they moved to an area where you cant see them anymore. Used to be by the main road.
I placed an order to go , ordered family that was supposed to come with a large fries (enough for a family ) and 4 sides of salads and also gravy. Despite paying extra for an additional side of fries, the amount they included in the order was barely enough for 2, and they gave me the order that was missing the salads and the gravy, very disappointing considering I left 20% service charge for such a bad service. The staff had grim and unpleasant faces not so welcoming.
If you re looking for an authentic Mexican culinary experience, Mags99 is definitely the place to be. The Chimichanga and the delightful drinks will transport your taste buds south of the border. I highly recommend it for anyone in search of a flavorful fiesta!
The tacos were great and I strongly recommend ordering them. I had a beef taco and it tasted like I would find in Mexico. I also had a chimichanga and it was good but a little too greasy and the fried chicken was chewy. I will be back again and order the tacos. The staff were very welcoming and there was plenty of space to eat. I couldnt find any washrooms or any place to wash my hands after so come prepared for that. Edit: I was wrong. Turns out there are washrooms at the front. I just couldnt find them.
Really great spot! I got to meet the owner too. She was super friendly. The staff seemed a little hesitant at first due to my girlfriends list of allergies, but were eventually quite attentive and accommodating. The food portions are solid. Some items were a little on the salty side, but definitely good flavours. Id recommend the fried chicken, the poutine, and the lone tree pear cider (not one of their house made specialties but goes really good with the food). Dietary restrictions: Was super accommodating with gluten free, lactose intolerance. Able to remove onions, tomatoes and pork when requested.
Had fish tacos here yesterday, what a burst of incredible flavour. They are so good. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Its a great stop for fried chicken and Mexican food. I regret not ordering the fried chicken after tasting it but all the food was tasty.
A strange experience. I ended up going inside to order at the counter when the drive thru line wasnt moving. It took a while to place the order and they seemed short staffed. I was told 15 min for my food and it took 30. It was awkward just standing to the side in essentially the middle of the restaurant. Loud electronic music playing. And I noticed the drive thru had a long line but cars were not asked to pull forward. The burrito and quesadilla we got were okay. The fries were pretty good Is this a fast food/delivery place? A sit down restaurant? A bar? It seems like it is trying to be all three.
Chimchanga was good. The service was terrible. Young man working til was useless and half the items on the menu were unavailable. This place was good years ago but if you want good chicken/ Mexican go to sunny Chibas. Better in every way
Mags catered Christmas dinner for the cadets mess dinner. Service was great dinner for 40 was ready on time. 2nd year we went with them and never dissapointed.
Just had their fried chicken, it was the driest fried chicken I ever had in my whole life! And the gravy you can see it s like with lots of thickening powder .it was just so bad, after I had one bite I just want to throw it away!
