38042 Cleveland Ave, Squamish, BC V8B 0A1, Canada
Warm, bustling eatery offering generously sized & fresh breakfast, lunch and dinner. We serve cold beer, cocktails and more.
The place was unimpressive to look at and sit in. The food ordered came in extra-large servings and could have been down-sized and plated more nicely. The patriarch of the restaurant, assumably one of the cooks... sat in the dining area, staring at us throughout our visit. Sadly, I should mention that shortly after leaving, I was quite ill and for three days of our holiday, I spent recovering from this, staying in our hotel room close to the washroom!! One last important thing to mention is that the bathroom was absolutely filthy and had one big, empty roll of toilet paper!! Good thing my wife had a tissue in her pocket. :( :( :(
Delicious Crab Cake Benny! Menu said hashbrowns but came with thin sliced potatoes which had a lovely seasoning and were so good. Better than hashbrowns in my opinion and I love a good hashbrown. Server was friendly and efficient. Would definitely eat here again.
This cozy breakfast diner has a charming, laid-back vibe, but the prices are steep. While the food is decent, it doesn't quite justify the premium pricing. My recent visit left me feeling underwhelmed - two breakfast meals and a coffee cost nearly $50 (including tax and tip)
The food was very basic, Denny's is better. Got the Huervos Rancheros and the tortilla was very soggy and chewy. The pancakes with the hungry man were very tasteless so we had to drench it in syrup. The French toast was okay though, but cost $10 as a side. The potatoes were also pretty disappointing, not fried enough to be crispy and was soft and mushy. Overall this was very expensive for the quality of food you're getting. I'd rather have gone to White Spot or Denny's
Great little spot you could easily miss. DO NOT MISS this place. Food is unbelievably good. Avo Burger has a hint of spice making it phenomenal and The Montreal is just a delicious smoked meat sanwich with homemafe sourkraut, swiss and dijon. Great flavours served with a smile and good conversation. A definite must if you like great food, a diner atmosphere and nice people.
Without a doubt the worst meal I’ve ever had! Ordered a Montreal and it was nothing like one. Meat was horrible, greasy with a ton of fat that had horrible bubbles on it and inedible. Chips were greasy, water was super off tasting, pretty expensive and generally the place is a bit bleak.
Was pleasantly surprised with the quality and style of food. I had a veggie omelette. The waiter was really attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend. Playing good oldies music 💕 (Coffee was okay. With some warmer light bulbs and perhaps a different colour scheme on the walls, as well as a wood or tile floor, the ambiance would be great. Love the wood tables, the colourful lanterns, and the stone wall at entry and on the side).
It doesn't take much to fix this place up. Get rid of the printed paper signs, put up some wall art other than 2 tiny unmatched pieces, and maybe place a pleasant screen for the bagged sink in the actual dining area. The food was good but I was surprised given how they present themselves.
It was a meal. This place USED to be perfect. Been here 20 years, this USED to be the breakfast spot. If your a local you definitely know what changed.
Friendly staff, good food. They have tiger tail ice cream!
Took over 40 mins for 2 plates on easy food
The food was good very good portions and the place it s clean our server kasan he was very polite and attentive to our needs I really recommend this place Parking: Good Kid-friendliness: Yes kids friendly but I think next time should prioritized kids before adults eat please Thanks
Visiting from Toronto, I had a lovely experience. The girl sent me away with a coffee to go. It was very lovely.
Great food! Really good portions
Waited 45+ minutes for a Mountain Man breakfast and Turkey sandwich. No communication from server, was very apparent they weren t able to handle the 6 tables that were occupied. Canned Diet Pepsi was so clearly old the can was all crushed and there was no fizz at all. Over all, $50 for what was meant to be a good quick lunch, was not worth the money.
The food was so delicious. Jaskaran serve us so best, she suggested desi omlet, evereone should try. thank you jaskaran
Walked by and saw Crab Cake Benedict on the menu and despite the restauraunt being empty and plain, uninspired, ugly inside I decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and the waitress/service was great. But there were 2 separate groups that came in and I heard both of them talking about eating there and then being turned off by the decor (or lack thereof) and decided to go eat elsewhere. I told the one group the food was fantastic and to ignore the atmosphere but they didnt take my recommendation. There is so much potential with the restaurant from a location and food standpoint but the inside needs a Profesional decorator to come and modify/change the layout and re-upholester some seats and paint floor, move the ice cream freezer, etc. Again, well worth the visit and the food is worth going for, but in desperate need of some interior decorating.
Filling food.
A good place to have a breakfast with many good options and the girl who served us was very friendly.
Awesome pancakes and omelettes, great vibes and great service!!
My food was ok, husband really enjoyed his, felt we were in the middle of a warehouse though, no atmosphere and after seeing the toilets and back area I questioned unfortunately if my stomach ache the next day came from here. Not sure I would return
Great service, fresh food fast. Dietary restrictions: Really good gluten free bread available Food : 5/5 |
The food was excellent, beautifully presented and very tasty. Our waitress Jaskaran was very gracious and smiled when she served us and offered to fill up our coffee without us asking. All together the experience was very good even though the restaurant itself needs some attention Paul Hinch Food
great service highly recommended
Good good and service by gur was amazing
Amazing food and amazing customer service. The desi omelette is really good!
Vegetarian options: Jaskaran served us and she was very warm and friendly. The Desi omlette was yummy. Recommended dishes
Seriously my fav place for breakfast in town great food great price great portion size and fantastic staff. Under new ownership food is still great staff is still great Karan knows my order always friendly place makes you feel super welcome
I always stop by for breakfast when i go to Whistler. Friendly, good food, good service
Great value
Great food! Karan makes a great customer service attention!
Great breakfast wrap and pancakes
Service was so friendly. Food was great.
Great food, Great Service, Great prices. Highly recommended.
Great place food was amazing eggs Benny, veggie omelete both excellent! Service was exceptional Jaskaran went above and beyond! Highly recommend anyone in the area or passing through to stop for a meal at Big Ds!
I Was pleasantly surprised with the quality and style of food. Jaskaran was really attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend this place.
Great service great food . Jaskarn went above and beyond and friendly highly recommend.
Awesome homemade mushroom soup! All 3 of us had the soup with our lunch and could not stop raving about it! My turkey sandwich was made from a roasted turkey with cranberry sauce. Thick slices of turkey..great value for lunch menu! My brother in law had BLT which he loved and my sister only had the soup but it was accompanied by sour dough bread which she loved. I am visiting Squamish and it was a great place to stop! Baban did an excellent job serving us! Hopefully we can come back once more before I leave Squamish.
Dietary restrictions: Theyre able to substitute the toast in their breakfasts for fruits for a fee. Food
everyone very good, thank you
Always crowded place. The food was plentiful and the service was fast, so I was always satisfied every time I went. Now, you have to order food and wait a long time for it to come out. The price has risen a bit, but it seems difficult to get fast service. Parking: Street parking. Nearby mall parking
Karan was great. Good food and drinks :) sat outside and it was nice !
Very good service and staff
During my recent visit to Whistler, I had the pleasure of dining at Chef Big Ds, a restaurant that truly impressed me with its fantastic food and accommodating service. Despite being a large group of 20, we were quickly seated and made to feel welcome, setting the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The menu offered a delightful variety of dishes, and we had the chance to try a little bit of everything. The poutine was a standout, with crispy fries, rich gravy, and just the right amount of cheese curds, making for a classic and comforting dish. The chicken club sandwich was another hit juicy, flavorful, and generously portioned. For burger lovers, the Smashburger was a must-try, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. To complement our meals, we enjoyed a selection of drinks, including margaritas and piña coladas. Both were expertly crafted, refreshing, and a perfect accompaniment to the hearty dishes we enjoyed. We were fortunate to have Karan as our server. Karans exceptional hospitality made our experience memorable. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring that each of us was well taken care of, despite the large size of our group. Overall, Chef Big Ds is a must-visit for anyone in Whistler. The combination of delicious food, exceptional service from our waiter Karan, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a great choice for both small and large groups.
The service was fast and friendly. The food was great. It was quick in and out. Jass was so nice! Check them out
Fantastic food and wonderful service!
It was great, food tasty and server was very polite
Karan was such a sweetie and everyone was so nice!
Food - Excellent Service - Less than one star Food
Really enjoyed our breakfast before heading to the farmers market. We especially enjoyed the hashbrowns and fresh fruit, and the service was quick and attentive.
Big portions and nice staff
Me and my boyfriend (homosexual couple of five years) just went to big D s. LOVEDUH the food, service was great. Can t wait for more big D s in the future;)
yummy milkshakes!
Kid-friendliness: soooooo yummy milkshakes Food
Amazing food and service! Breakfast was yummy, service by Karan was great! Thank you.
Went for breakfast, the food was really good! Service was quick and prices were great as well. Would recommend.
Just had breakfast. Desi omelette a so good. Pancakes tasty! A beautiful spot to stop and have breakfast. Service was amazing thank you to Karan!
Great place for breakfast. Friendly staff. Great food.
Not busy on Sunday morning, good classic breakfast that came out quick. Fast and kind server as well.
Had a great breakfast!
Loved the service and the people. A great place for a quaint little breakfast. Such an amazing difference since new ownership!!
French Dip was bomb. Ice cream afterwards hit the spot
Food and ice cream! The best after a long ride
Headed out for a ride to Squamish and found this place. Motorcycle parking right in front. Ordered a beef dip with fries. It was one of the best beef dips Ive had. Great toast on the bun, stacked with tender beef, and the au jus was very flavorful. Service was great, and they made sure I never ran out of coffee. Will definitely be back there for meals in the future.
The ambience is sober. Enough space and not crowded. The food was freshly prepared, tasty but not outstanding. The service was very friendly.
Nice view of the mountains. Great food! Jalab Gamun French toast was super good! Great Indian twist on the dish that goes really well with the cream and toast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fuss free dining experience. Service was excellent too, Jwas was really attentive and friendly.
Amazing food! Especially the frittata! And very friendly service!
Karan service was amazing. Had yummy pan cakes! Food
Karan gave a great service for Friday . He treated us so nicely and kindly. He is so kind hearted.
What a legend. I love you eating here best club sandwich in town.
The most wonderful atmosphere and food are really delicious.
The food is really delicious, the service is excellent, I recommend 100%.
Excellent variety in a town dominated by Asian food choices. Good mix of breakfast staples and classic lunch options. Wrap was delicious and they did not skimp on the fillings. Service was quick and personable. Best part was the thick cut fries which were cooked perfectly. Would def go back, probably will tomorrow for breakfast. Saw other patrons getting pancakes which looked nice and fluffy, that will prob be my go to. Would def recommend!
Absolutely in love with this restaurant. Food was amazing! Staff is fantastic to deal with and cares a lot for their customers. MUST TRY!
Perfect place for breakfast and dinner!
Beef dip
Delicious eggs Benny! Great Caesar and friendly service. Great value for brunch
Excellent food and amazing waitress! All in all was percect!
Food was good, service was friendly and great, atmosphere was enjoyable with great music. Highly recommend and it and would definitely come back again.
Vegetarian options: Lots of choices. Food
Great food Great service Both girls Gur and Jas provided great service . Very professional. Food : 5/5
We went on a Friday mid day and were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. The service was great. We had a young child and a high chair was brought out right away. The server was very nice to the child. We felt welcomed. The food selection was great. They accommodated our allergies. We had beef dip and a club sandwich. Both were tasty and fresh. Better than we expected. Yummy. As a surprise we were treated as a desert a complimentary ice cream from their good selection of flavors. Good quality ice cream. I will definitely recommend them to those going to visit squamish.
Really good food and friendly staff. Will always come here when in Squamish.
excellent food and atmosphere karan sam great work Food
Very sweet sparkling water and chutney thank you guys
It was really great experience and staff was awesome .. Karan was really great and his customer service was just awesome he is really an asset for ur business
A must-visit dining destination. Prepare to be amazed And the customer Service of Karan is really appreciated. Thanks Food
We stumbled across this place after the two places wed decided on first were both full and had nowhere to sit, and honestly, Im glad they were. Once you get past the slight vibe of greasy spoon this place is actually great. We were seated straight away, the waitress was attentive and friendly. The tables, and all dishes were clean as is the restaurant as a whole. Food was both plentiful and very good quality - the crab benny was lovely, and the turkey omelette could not be faulted by either of us! Choice of coffee or tea (No cappuccino etc) but honestly the coffee was great so no complaints from us. Slightly sparse décor, but only if Im really picking faults!! If were ever in the area well choose this place first for breakfast!
Stopped in on the way home from Whistler. By far the worst coffee I have ever had. Service was barely passable. Eggs were ok. Or should I say egg. Hash browns were not hash browns. My wife ad an omelet. After the meal we stopped off at Mcdonalds drive through for a coffee and a muffin. I take no joy in bad reviews, but this place was very sub par.
Tasty, fresh food. Great portions.
Was there on a Friday at lunch time and it was weirdly empty. Chatted with the super friendly staff Karan, ordered lunch, and enjoyed the quiet time. When lunch came it was soooooo delicious and hot! The fries were *amazing* - exactly as I like them - hot and salty. The sandwich was so delicious, I almost inhaled it. Altogether an excellent experience. 5 Stars, would definitely go again.
Best breakfast in town and Karan was very helpful and professional. Always going to be my first choice .
The food here was fantastic! Home made French fries (not from frozen), same with hash browns. Turkey was roasted in store - not deli slices. Coffee was good, as was the service. Highly recommend!!
Food and the portions were very good and the waiter was very attentive. But need some house keeping.
Had the classic burger/ Fries and gravy. The fries were beyond delicious and the gravy was perfect! Real cut potatoes! The burger was perfection as well. I will definitely come back again!
The breakfast was all good, but one of the waitresses was looking just like i hate all of you here, so Im really not inclined to return for more ...
Great breakfast !
Good taste!
You just have to be here honestly, I enjoyed the service, food, environment and the music
The portions are very good but they do NOT serve hash brown potatoes at all and the home fries/chips they gave were not very good. I didnt like the hollandaise sauce much either but it is edible. The omelets are good, the service is very good. All in all I would not recommend it.
Just popped in for breakfast, glad we did- normally would not post a review for just bacon and eggs but yeah, this was worth the effort- top notch quality, cooked right and opted to replace the hash browns and toast with fruit- and that is itself could have been a meal- good presentation too. Its just a small town cafe but they do it right. Will be back- saw plate of pancakes go by and each cake looked like it was an inch thick.
Poor service. Poor portion sizes. Poor flavour. Tartar sauce just garlic mayo served with burnt fish. Did not see a waitress one time after we were served our food.
Relaxed spot, friendly and personable staff, unique fluffy hashbrowns, and the breakfast wrap was great!
Overpriced mediocre breakfast food. Their glasses had dirty lip stains on the rim, fruit not fresh nor washed. There were webs between the vines and grapes and the server insists it s clean and kitchen couldn t care less. Their hash browns are not so either: they are scallop potatoes with rosemary seasoning. Weak breakfast spot overall.
I was out in Squamish for a work trip and was looking for a quality local restaurant. This joint met that expectation and then some, I definitely recommend
Edit! Its been a year since I wrote this review and NOW they serve dinner as well and the BURGERS ARE SO GOOD. Juicy as hell! - I love Big Ds, never a lineup for a good brunch. Great eggs bennys. The coffee keeps coming, and the servers make you feel at home and valued. Especially Baban, with her big smile and warmth, and she remembers my orders lol I could cry. This place is comfort food as much as the food.
Huevos Rancheros and Crab Cake Benny outstanding! Friendly service. We will definitely return.
This is place is amazing, the food is great especially the Beef Dip! The service is great too and the place.
Delicious food, GREAT bacon, saved us from the morning terrors of a nearby camping catastrophe.
Crab cakes were so good! Great breakfast and lunch! Very friendly.
Amazing place. I have been here a few times but today it was a totally different and pleasant experience. Amazing food.
Very boring place, nothing remarkable, expensive for small portions and even worse presentation. The pancakes were tasteless, they served it with literally 2 grapes on my plate. The staff were polite but it s not the type of place that people seemed happy to work for. Anyway I would definitely avoid and have breakfast in another place. Vegetarian options: Almost none, they offer a bunch of sides that you could possible mix and match to form one vegetarian option but the portions are a joke.
Great food & great service! Will definitely be back!
Best breakfast place in Squamish. Good food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere.
Karan was serving us and he was very friendly, polite and recommended the desi omelette which was great. It was a pleasure dealing with Karan. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family
Stopped in here after driving for a long time and was so hungry... atmosphere very plain and bleak. However the food was very good and fresh....coffee was great ..... the serive was really good, friedly staff. The only thing I would say I wasnt happy about was the one bathroom for the whole restaurant... was not that clean. All and all I would definitely come back here. It is a bit pricey too but portions are good.
Exactly what I was looking for. Diner atmosphere, with home cooked vine, super tasty and nice breakfast portions. We sat at the window and loved the experience. Good food for good value.
We went to this place for breakfast on our way to Whistler. Pricey little place. The quality of food especially potato chips (Hash Browns, )seems like they were previously frozen. They were awfully hard to eat very dry. The coffee cups were slim and had to keep asking for coffee over and over. Coffee was not fresh it was poured in a thermos which he was serving from. Definitely will never go back.
Really great spot for typical breakfast. The sausages and hashbrowns are really great quality and delicious. It is a quaint and quiet place to take your family.
Worst breakfast in Squamish. No flavor, over priced sorry, very disappointing. Quiet on a Sunday morning, makes sense. Food
Perfect breakfast and bacon was delicious. We stopped on our way to Whistler and it was fantastic. Loved it.
Our last visit was a bit of a disappointment. Service was very slow and it wasnt busy. The server was not attentive and we struggled to get more coffee and the bill. Several people were turned away by staff 20 to 30 minutes before the closing time. It didnt feel like they appreciated our business.
My favourite meal is big English style breakfast, eaten in a down to earth clean greasy spoon cafe. Big D looked the part -basic but clean with a few people inside. Ordered an item called the usual -2 eggs 2 bacon hash browns and toast asked for crispy bacon & over easy eggs. To be fair crispy means different things to everyone so they did give me crispy bacon and only slightly overdone compared ( other versions I ve received) and to what I d hoped for, eggs ok toast ok. Hash browns were undercooked slices of potato (that I ve only ever seen in dauphinois). Overall ok but wouldn t recommend . I read the other reviews after I d eaten -which I don t usually do - and wouldn t have gone had I done so, but to be fair to the place I think it was ok and would consider again.
I enjoyed breakfast here with my two children and my mom before riding the North Pole Express. The food was delicious, decent pricing, great sized portions and very friendly service. My son is 6 and asked for a cheeseburger at 10am, before I could let him know it was only a breakfast menu right now our gracious server got down on his level and patiently waited for my little guy to order what he wanted (which included particular adjustments beyond their standard burger-those with littles will know what I mean ;)) and the server said for the young man we will make it work. My mom and I were both blown away by his kindness and willingness to please. I didnt catch his name, but if he reads this: Thank you for being so amazing with my son and his requests!! Youre awesome! My daughter ordered the pancake stack with apples and cinnamon and it looked amazing! It was made in a griddle that baked the apples right into it! I have never seen anything like it. If I didnt have a gluten allergy, I would have ordered it! I dont often go to Squamish, but when I do, I will make sure I visit Chef Big Ds every time. Dietary restrictions: I ordered eggs benny without the English muffin due to a gluten allergy and I was pleased they were able to sub gf bread. Parking: We went on a Sunday morning (10ish) and had zero problem finding ample free street parking right outside the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: A great menu with a lot of options that most kiddos enjoy and the staff are more than happy to ensure the littles get what theyd like.
We went for a morning breakfast & we were amazed by the service we got, the waitress was very nice & got us a coffee very quick, then she took our order & had it delivered within minutes, the portion of the food was good, we actually shared one breakfast & it was quite filling. Good breakfast with a Mountain View right in downtown. Parking: Plenty of parking or the streets Kid-friendliness: It s a kids friendly restaurant
We were hopeful of a nice family breakfast with friends but instead we waited 1 hour food and it wasn t even that busy . The staff and server were very unfriendly. At no point did they attempt to ensure we were well taken care of while we waited our food. After waiting 1 hour for food they severed all the children dead last ( which was crazy ) any restaurant knows you make it a priority to take care of the kids priority one ( not this place ). After 1 hour the server asked if we wanted more coffee and re-filled 1 out of the 4 coffees because she was going to get more ( which was fine ) however she never came back so 20 min later we managed to get her attention again to see about the other 3 coffees. She acknowledged and just brought the coffee jug and said here and left it on the table for us to pour. Food was not great and these rosemary potatoes were just bad. Also so much wasteful stuff that is completely unnecessary ( butter, creamers and sugar, packets,) This place did not tick one box. We will not be back. Waste of time and money. If you want to stay there n business I suggest the following : A ) be friendly and appreciative to your customers B) prioritize kids food first always C) if you re busy make sure you keep The customers filled up with drinks. D) better food E)
Very disappointing! Service was very unfriendly and almost seemed irritated when asking for things like more coffee or ketchup! Food took over an hour and was cold and not great quality at all. We will not be back.
Big portions of good food. Staff are sooooo friendly and excellent with kids. Would rate 6 starts of I could
New ownership has changed this once great restaurant. The service is mediocre. The atmosphere isnt charming or fun like it once was. And the food isnt worth it. The hashbrowns are sliced potatoes that seem to have been saturated in oil and rosemary - not a pleasant taste. So sad.
Some of the most pathetic service I have ever witnessed in a food establishment, bacons good though
Love this place. Best eggs benny in town with great service.
Great service, great food. Love the hashbrowns
MUST TRY! Crab cakes.. Very yummy! Parking: Near by parking
Came for breakfast, their hash browns are new and different. Liked The Usual. Could have more variety of pancakes and waffles.
The service of all the staff is friendly, Baban has become one of our friends hehe. We go there every weekend. Delicious food every time.
Was looking forward to a great breakfast but that was not the case. Ordered the eggs Benny, they were not good at all, the hollandaise sauce was terrible and the wafer potatoes were also not appealing to a point I didn t even eat them. Resulted in a quick stop at MacDonald s for a decent meal before the days adventures.
Food was terrible all the hash browns and fries were soggy.seevice was terrible didnt even come around to check how we liked the food would have liked to have a second cup of coffee with breakfast but server didnt even check on us for 30 min and it wasnt even that busy only 5 tables
Best value in Squamish. Large portions, good quality food at a reasonable price.
Chef BIG D is awesome. Evelyn and Baban are amazing. Recommend the breakfast.
Great crab cakes, eggs. Hash browns a little bland.
Good food, lots of it, and reasonably priced. Thank you. 10/10 would recommend. Food : 5/5
Love it every time I can get there!
This used to be my go-to for brunch and I had rated 5 stars. Ive only been there once since the new management. They kept the old menu which I love. My usual tasted mostly the same. That was good. Service was good. But the coffee was terrible! Very watery. I dont want to see through my coffee. Even with creamer it was still transparent. That kinda ruined it for me. Ill give them another shot because I think theyre trying really hard, but for now, 3 stars. You need decent coffee at a breakfast place.
Very good club sandwich
Simple and delicious sandwiches and wraps. Sort of feels like an American greasy spoon, although I m fairly sure ownership has changed since the last time I visited a few years back. Fries are really soft and not very good, go with anything else. Great stop for breakfast or lunch on the way to Whistler!
We are here in Squamish for a little hiking tour and today we needed a good breakfast as a preparation for the tour. So we stepped by and what can I say about this place? Nice and cute, the staff is always friendly and the food was very good !
I had the fish and chips the chips were really good and the coleslaw was good also The battered fish was terrible the batter was mostly soggy and rubbery Not good
The crab cakes with poached eggs and hollandaise was probably in the top 5 best things I ve ever eaten in my life
Big D was average at best. This was our first time here, heard great things about this place so had to try it. All the hype must have been from a while back because it was very disappointing. The inside looked pretty run down, improperly trained informed servers, and lacking cleanliness. I ordered a clubhouse sandwich ( which I got a very good gluten free bread might I add) with salad, and my partner got a chicken wrap with soup. Both were decent but poor quality ingredients and overpriced. We could have make this same thing with leftovers at home. The staff was polite, but couldn t help the overall experience. I definitely won t be returning anytime soon.
I came here with my mum for a quick bite to eat after going up the Sea to Sky gondola We were greeted promptly and seated. The restaurant was quiet. I was surprised because my mothers and my food was so good! I had the avo egg wrap, and she had the turkey sandwich the sliced breakfast potatoes were seasoned and delicious, btw, and Ive never seen a restaurant do them like that! Wonderful servers, and very sweet Good portion sizes and fairly priced! I would definitely recommend to other people visiting the area for lunch or breakfast! Thank you, Chef d, whoever you are Vegetarian options: They had lots of breakfast veggie options such as the breakfast sandwich and avo egg wrap. All their burgers had the option to sub a meat patty for a veggie garden patty!
Nit much to say. Not worth the bite for the cost. Bacon is paper thin, sausages are cheap superstore style pork and the hashbrowms werent the greatest. Itd be better if they gave you the option to chose your spuds
Had a fantastic breakfast with family here today. They were lil bit busy but hey its Sunday. Cant complain. Yummy food.
Although the food was alright the service was poor. Once our order was taken and food was served the waitress never returned to offer coffee refills or water refills. There were 3 waitresses working and it was not too busy..
Tasty food, fair price, good portion.
GOOD FOOD
The coffee was watery, the ham was lunch meat slices, and pancakes were dry. The ketchup didnt taste good. Plus, it was expensive. Food : 2/5
Service is good, food is good.
Ordered the Mountain Man. Large portion but the service was not so great!
Whole family ate here and we each rated our dishes giving the breakfast a 4/10 rating on all our different dishes. Food was adequate at best, but tasteless. We left most of our pancakes. Who can get pancakes wrong? Will not return.
Total $27 tax + tips
The location is clean but sparce and lacking character. Plants might be a nice addition. The one all-gender bathroom in the deep back of the restaurant was serviceable. Not unclean but reminds you of a staff bathroom. The servers did their job, but I had to ask for a glass of water twice. They were noticeably on their phones when not serving. They let us make changes to the menu items so we were satisfied with our meal. I swapped mushrooms for onions. My oartner added fried tomatoes. The meal was a good portion: omelet, hashbrowns, and toast. The food was fine, but nothing inspiring. Predictable.
Everything is delicious
Is with the whole of vancouver you must queue for hours and you still might not get a table. The city with its addiction/homelessness is a huge let down and I will never be back or recommend this for a holiday destination
Good portions, but very bland food. Poor service, didnt even get a glass of water with our food.
Refused to sell burger patties when I called to inquire. Disgusting to both sell poison and then not allow people to order non-poison components. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.
Enjoyed the tables outside! People watching, mountian views & delicious breakfast (yummy sourdough & sausages) - will definitely be back! thank you!
Came expecting what we have been coming for year after year. Immediately noticed it was empty, unlike previously when every table was full and it was bustling. New ownership was evident right away. Everyone who worked there looked miserable. Waitress was miserable. Took our order and that was the last time we spoke to anyone. Some younger equally miserable girls delivered our meals that looked so boring compared to before. Taste was satisfactory. Nobody came back to ask if we wanted more coffee, nobody asked if it was good or we needed anything, and nobody came back to take dishes and bring bill. The two waitresses sat by the counter folding napkins and wrapping cutlery. I finally went to counter and asked to pay and get a box to take home leftovers. No thank you, no asking how it was. I ve never ever tipped less than 15%, but this time I could only bring myself to tip 10%. Worst service ever, and the family that runs it looks like they hate what they are doing. No joy and no effort to run a customer based restaurant. Miss the old joint- it was the best! Won t be back anymore.
Felt like a pop-up restaurant due to the lack of tables in the dining area. Hashbrowns were closer to potato chips. Had no air circulation while I was there and it got really stuffy and hot
Used to be the best Restaurant on the street but new owner has not held up the high quality as the old owner. Child riding toy through restaurant, bread was stale, turkey was dry and tasteless, waitress was friendly and trying to do a decent job but other staff no. Staff were sitting outside relaxing. Seemed like some staff were considered the worker bees , while other staff took no active time trying to service. Very disappointed in the lack if quality and pride that existed with previous owner. Parking: Busy street...no parking
You will get a table, but thats about it. Lucky if you get a menu within 20 minutes. Lucky if they remember to bring all of the drinks your ordered within another 20 minutes. Do you need a refill? LOL gfy. I guess you can call them over, but you may have to walk up to the counter. Food is about what you would expect - but I dont think the kitchen makes batches, but does by order, so youll wait an hour for your meal if the place is over 50% capacity. I think they could do very well here (the demand is there) if they could just figure out how to actually operate a busy establishment. 1PM: 6 of 14 tables occupied - theyve looked the door, but the open sign is on and it says open until 3. Nice management
Nice little restaurant. Huge pancakes, fast service. Prices are cheap, if you consider the location and the area around.
Food itself wasn t bad by any means, but it was definitely overpriced for the portion sizes provided. The service could ve been better and the atmosphere was very strange. There were kids roaming around (who I assume belong to one of the restaurant staff). Restaurant staff bringing their children to work is fairly common for local restaurants, but I think its a little inappropriate to have them wandering around when there are customers eating.
I really enjoy my breakfast before hiking the chief every year. I don t wanna miss it. Food is always good, service great.
Overall good food & quality. Pancakes were delicious & fluffy. Service & atmosphere was okay/average. Only negative for me was: I got the Mountain Man Breakfast -- basically comes with everything. And my friend got an omelette and asked for one pancake on the side. The server (I think I saw their name on the receipt was Baban) then looked at my friend & explained to him that maybe he should wait to order an extra pancake because my meal came with two and they were really big pancakes. She was basically insinuating that I wont be able to finish my food.... so just didnt appreciate that lol Also really big pancakes is super subjective. I found them a bit average, maybe even a bit small. Finished it no problem.
Best restaurant in the area in my opinion. Went here last week with my family for a brunch and the food was absolutely incredible. The service was also exceptional :) Will be returning in the future !
I love this place, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff - been here many times and the food is very consistent and never takes long. Casual diner done right.
Food was so delicious and the staff is so nice and friendly
This is the worst service restaurant I have ever seen.
Best breakfast... reasonable prices.. definitely recommend
Food was okay, hashbrowns are actually homemade potato chips. They were good but definitely not what I expected when they were called hashbrowns on the menu. The service was bad. The person i was with was served coffee and water upon arrival, even though we arrived together i was served nothing. We both had to repeat our orders 2 or 3 times and even then the waitress seemed very confused and our orders were not difficult I ordered a water with 2 slices of lemon which i had to wait to order until they came around for our food order. 10 minutes after I ordered my water and my friend ordered her second coffee as she had finished her first cup before I even got my water, we had to flag down the waitress to ask for our drinks. She then comes out with my water with half a lemon slice asks me if I want more, says shes going to bring more then never does. She also tells my friend shell bring her her second coffee after she enjoys her meal. Like no she wants the coffee with her meal? My friend had to bring her mug up to the counter to get coffee as the waitress never came back. Food was average, service is severely lacking with the amount of great eateries in Squamish we never have a reason to return here.
This was possibly the worst breakfast Ive ever had. My omelette had no taste, neither did my friends pancakes. Melon and grapes were put on the plate with the omelette for some reason. Waitresses werent impolite, but there wasnt a good atmosphere in there.
Poor service, hash browns were over cooked, my sunny side eggs were crunchy. No one came to offer water refills or to see how the food was. Even had to find someone so we could pay and leave. Another couple had to get menus for themselves and then ended up leaving due to no service. This used to be my favorite breakfast stop. Won t be going back again.
Great food - Great Service! Karan was a funny, great guy. Will be back ( after my diet ) :) Thanks Boss! Jeremy
Love that every entree served came w some fruit We had their eggs benny- the crab cakes complemented the creaminess of the eggs Coffee service is very attentive A great place to enjoy a fuss free & relaxing breakfast
Absolutely love it! This is veggie omelette with fruit (extra 4$ for fruit) instead of hash browns. Delicious, fast service, big portions! Best breakfast this year I would say! Well done everyone
2023 update: an absolute shadow of its of former self. Original family owners moved on and it is not the same place. The cosy interior has been lost to a dull open plan layout but worse than that the service was just non-existent. I dont want to lay into the new ownership too hard as Im sure its a learning curve but the service wasnt even bad - it just didnt exist! Sat down as a couple, very quiet weekday morning. No water or coffee brought out. The couple ahead of us the same. Then after 5min of waiting, a group of 8 people were tabled and the servers immediately started taking their orders. We got up and left. Pre 2023 review: Vintage diner style and menu. Its simple and unsophisticated but its mighty delicious and the servings are big. Its a local fave.
Unfriendly and not relaxing atmosphere. One of the worst service I ve ever experienced. Food is ok, but Bennies eggs without a piece of English muffin or other bread. Seriously?!
This place was very disappointing. The atmosphere is very depressing. Unfortunately, the employees speak very, very poor English and they may bring you the wrong food that you ordered. I also got diarrhea after visiting this place. Food : 1/5
Took my grandmother here on a Sunday morning as if she wasn t salty enough already. I was left utterly disappointed when simple sausage sausage sandwich couldn t satisfy salty sassy seventy year old who enjoys the simplest sanagas. Sauce sachets scattered around our table served a fork and a spoon and not knife in sight is this a restaurant for a terminate? Cause it was certainly no delight. All in 6/6 out of for a shower of
The food was excellent, no issues... The restaurant need a bit of reno, upgrading... But that is my opinion... it looks like its not finished?
We were caught off guard with the late fall temperature in Squamish on a Sunday morning drive from Vancouver earlier this week. We did check the weather when we left home but we didn t acclimate quickly enough after the summer to understand what low single-digit temperatures really meant. After a brisk walk along the boardwalk and downtown, we quickly needed to find a warm place for a hefty breakfast. It was the only diner type restaurant open mid morning on Cleveland. It looked good from the outside so we went straight in. We were seated right away. There are many typical options on the breakfast and lunch menus. We both had The Usual breakfast - 2 eggs, choice of meat, choice of toast, fried potatoes, and a portion of mixed fruits. I had sausages which were plump and juicy. The fried sliced potatoes looked different from how fried potatoes / hash would usually be served in a diner but they tasted good I like that you can stack a few of them up and cut through them, like eating stacks of mini pancakes. But potatoes trump pancakes anytime and any day.
Took 1.5 hours to get food with only 5 other people in the restaurant. Food was cold
I wish I could give this 0 stars. We were the only ones in there, waited over an hour, food came out at different times for all of us. The eggs were raw, potatoes both under cooked and over cooked, fruit was moldy, pancakes were raw, there was hair in multiple of our food items. After all this it was still way too expensive.
I understand 1+ hour wait times, but when there are 6 customers and 4 staff, this is unacceptable. Food was cold and unseasoned.
Should get a cook that knows how to cook breakfast Canadian style. IMHO. Taste was off. Pancakes not cooked. Hash browns not at all hash browns.
There crab cakes were delicious. I have been here quite a few times and it has been always a delight to get my breakfast.
Great breakfast , nice price , free coffee refills
Looking for that tasty grease filled breakfast a classic Canadian staple, $45 for two people, $10 French Toast was dry in the middle they used thin sliced bread, the syrup was basically water, Huevos Rancheros had no drizzle/sauce, was canned salsa and the tortilla was hard as a rock, ZERO imagination in the food prep, flavour profiles, you couldnt pay me to eat here, we walked out baffled. the only thing done right here was the soft poached eggs. Ive seen a few of the 1 star reviews get a reply from the owner apologizing. How about instead of apologizing, you fix the issues. Im sure if the cooks ate the food they prepared they might try harder.
