What began as The Locavore Food Truck, has grown into the perfect mixture of full bar and food truck style. Grab your Locavore favourite to go for lunch or dinner and sit on our large outdoor patio-now equip with heaters.
Was down adventuring in Squamish this past weekend and usually have a favourite to go place to eat but wanted to try something different. I was looking up places coming back from Brandywine falls and this place looked good. First of all I didn't realize there isn't a kitchen its a food truck in the back of the property which was a big let down. I was very confused walking into this place and ended up walking into the coffee shop and having to ask where you order the food and was told up front where the pub is. Place your oder and you get a pager and have to wait till it goes off and walk outside to the food truck to get your food. I had the potato wedges and the chicken sandwich and it was decent but not the greatest , definitely sticking to my gut and going to my regular place next time. 4/10
Bahn mi WASNT to die for. It was subpar at best. The brisket wasn't good. Tasted like it was just microwaved and dry. The potato wedges taste like the brown colour they were. It's all self service and they still make you tip. You order at the front and the food truck is on the side fyi. The place itself was nice, just won't be back.
Really good drinks here and great beer selection. The food is good. Best to find out what the daily specials are to save $$$. Margarita Monday, Wine Wednesday etc. Great beer and burger deals on Thursdays or Fridays (can't remember which). Perfect if you've been out adventuring and/or have a dog. And there's always seating!
Stopped for lunch on our way to Whistler, appreciate the vegan options on the menu! Great atmosphere, a little pricey, but in this day and age, that's understandable. Good food, it's interestingly mostly self serve, but the atmosphere is quite nice. All in all, would definitely go back if I'm in the area!
Busy place must be good, ordered burger and grill cheese. Had to wait for a long time to get our food. Lots of tables available. Food was decent.
Rode up to Squamish Saturday afternoon with a few friends on our motorcycles, and decided to stop in here for lunch. I ordered the Beef Brisket with potato wedges as the side (4 choices of sides with your order.) The order took about 30 mins to get but understandable cuz it was the weekend. The Beef Brisket burger was delicious with a good portion of brisket in the burger. The potato wedges were awesome as well. Most of the wedges were nice 'n crispy. Lightly seasoned 👌. It also came with a garlic mayo sauce for dipping. Service is pretty self-serve here. They give you buzzer with your food order and when you order is ready, it will start buzzing. You take your buzzer to the food truck beside the seating area to pick up your food order. Good spot to grab a bite...and drinks (they are licensed there.) I'll certainly come again over this summer.
This is the second time we have been here travelling though Squamish. Good sandwich selection with veg options. This time we got the salmon burger and Tofu Bahn Mi sandwich and salmon burger. Bahn Mi had nice smoked tofu but as others have mentioned it was good but not fantastic. The salmon burger was the same - good but not mind-blowing or anything for the price. Prices included a side. The wedges with garlic aioli were awesome but the slaw was not. It wasn’t vinegar-y or creamy, it was kinda tasteless, just like the chopped veggies. Happy hour prices and patio were amazing! Would return. Oh and a little FYI - service is 100% serve yourself. Order at a counter, fill your own water, bring your own drinks back. Pick up food from a food truck and clean up after yourself. Don’t feel bad about skipping the 18%+ suggested tip options, we wish we did after realizing the service was McDonald’s style. No hate on that whatsoever, just the expected large tip for it.
LOCAVORE (Squamish) 8.8/10 Overall 9/10 Food Quality 9/10 Dining Atmosphere 7/10 Service 8/10 Value Love this place! It’s like a permanent food truck attached to a bar with lots of outdoor seating, and nestled right next to some local shops and ice cream! The mountain views are nice too! Service to get your food is a bit slow… but other than that I would come back again and again! BBQ BEEF BRISKET SANDWICH $18.25 house bourbon BBQ sauce, kale slaw, roast garlic aioli – portuguese bun. This was pretty damn good! Wish it had more meat though. 9/10 CHEF SPECIAL PORCHETTA SANDWICH Overall taste was pretty good, but very thin slices of pork compared to Meat and Bread. 8.7/10
Good food and nice vibe, dog friendly!
Always a great vibe
Lots of tables on the outdoor patio. Adjacent cafe perfect to grab a morning coffee.
Food was ok
I want to see a food court that is not suitable for children or the elderly. crisp place
Casual dining in a relaxed neighbourhood setting. Food often takes 20 minutes or more, counter service. Vegetarian options: Many veg options Parking: More parking available in the shopping plaza accross the street in Garibaldi Village. Kid-friendliness: Playground and large outdoor space.
Good range of beers on tap. I tried the veggie quinoa burger and that was pretty good. The atmosphere is nice with latest pop / dance music playing in the background.
Staff here can t seem to figure out how to operate their POS system. My wife tried to order a veggie burger with different toppings than what was listed and she was told that it s too complicated to input and that she has to have what comes on it because their system . Our father in law was also told he can t change the toppings on his burger because of the system . One of the most bizarre things I ve ever been told by restaurant staff
Great friendly staff, excellent service and the food was great to. Fantastic way to end a long day in the saddle with a few beers and food.
Drinks were fine and the food was lacking. Feels like the portion size for cost was off. Too many of the menu items did not stand out.. the banh mi sub was too far bastardized of what it should have been. I dont recommend this place.
Long wait even though 50% capacity. Food was pricey for what you get and not very good quality. Hot dog and burger was terrible, no fries with sandwich, had to come back to order desk and request it. Bahn MI flavor was peculiar. Pita chips, really not I was expecting, and who sprinkles uncooked curry powder on food? Disappointed and I do not recommend this eatery!
A local friend recommended this place for lunch and glad she did! We went during September when the weather was warm and we decided to eat out on the patio. It feels like a modern suped up cafeteria where you order your meal in one place and pick it up elsewhere. After ordering and paying for your meal by the friendly staff, youre given something (small remote?) to alert that your meal is ready for pick from the outdoor food truck. The food was tasty, fresh and sized well (not too much, not too little). The only ism that started to irk us was the constant beeping from everyone elses alert remotes. Otherwise, everything was pretty perfect. Vegetarian options: Bahn mi had a tofu option; great veggie salads and burger options Dietary restrictions: A good amount of veggie options available. Gluten free options also offered. Parking: We luckily found a spot quickly as someone was leaving but the parking needs to accommodate for the other local shops. We also noticed a lot of people commuted by bike. Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere was casual with open spaces for children.
Great Thursday burger special!
This place used to be great. Totally gone downhill. Service is super slow. We ordered online and I took them 50 minutes to make our food, the delay was 20 minutes after it was supposed to be done and we ordered 30 minutes in advance. Size of the portions are also smaller. Sadly after coming here for years I can no longer recommend it.
Lovely lunch spot with a cute patio! Great gluten free wrap option for the sandwiches!
The brisket sandwich is an exceptional item combined with the delicious hazy ipa they offer, they allowed me to try other outlets to see what the perfect pairing was and I decided on that beautiful beer, the atmosphere is incredible and the service unbeatable, all diligent and friendly, I never thought I would find such an incredible place in these parts, one hundred percent recommended!!
a great spot for lunch and some drinks!
The BEEF BRISKET sandwich is Insanely good!!!!!!!
I could come here every night. Lots of dogs, friendly people, decent food with large portions. Food took a bit, 25 minutes, but you can use that time to meet new people, check out the mountain bikes, and enjoy the beer garden atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Went here after riding at Diamondhead. Got a couple drinks and some food from the food truck. Great location and ambience!
If you want to stand in line and be ignored, when there are only 20 people total in the restaurant/bar... This is the restaurant/bar for you!! Recommendation, find another place to spend your money!!
This is just about the wifi situation so people know about it prior to visiting You need to purchase something in order to use the wifi (which I understand). However, they give you a little slip of paper with a code for the wifi thats only valid for 2 hours. So if you want to use the wifi for an extended period of time, you need to purchase something every 2 hours (which adds up!). Just something for people to be aware of before going. The environment is nice, its an open concept with lots of seating.
Good food. Squamish prices.
Love this place
Paid $24 (!) for a salmon burger. Waited 25 minutes to get it. The piece of salmon was tiny and thin, couldnt even see it until I took the whole sandwich apart. It was maybe 2 ounces. Took it back to the windows and politely said that it was tiny for the price. Guy at the window dug in, said the portions were weighed and refused to help out or make it right. Water glasses were dirty. I wont be back with my family and mountain bikers.
Love the food, I am celiac and my 1st visit (about a month ago) was wonderful having brisket wrap and potato wedges without any issues. I went back today and had the same thing and unfortunately there must have been some cross contamination. I did let the staff know both times about my allergies. I will definitely try again in the future and hopefully have a better experience. I m hoping it goes ok as I really like everything about locavore and like supporting there restaurant!
Central Squamish meeting place, before or after activities. Consistently nice staff and food, coffee. Food proportions could always be a bit bigger, but hey, just finished a big ride and STARVING!!!
Great food choices ! Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegetarian and vegan options Food : 5/5 |
Get the wedges. They are amazing.
Absolutely love this place, hard to beat on a summers day. Awesome some during winter with all the heaters. Nice bar staff. Good food
I ve lived in Squamish for 15 years and have seen this place grow. Ordered the double donair with side slaw. The double was the size of what should ve been a single with 2 measly slices of beef and the slaw was basically cabbage in a cup making flavour. I m tired of mediocre.
Pretty chill place with games to play while you wait for your food. All of the sandwiches and burgers ive tried so far were very good.
vegan burger is lame, no love or creativity put into it. worse than boring
Casual, hip spot in squamish. Typically busy and on the $$ side, but a very fun place nonetheless with quality food and service.
Had a great burger at happy hour. Had to add cheese and bacon, delicious. I wanted the BBQ brisket but it was sold out at 3PM.
This setup is a little weird but if you can get past the fact this is a food truck with seating then the food is great
A great squamish gem, nice patio amazing food and drink selection. Chicken breast sandwich is bomb
Cool location, great food, nice staff, and clean bathrooms. They even had a few sleeping dogs hanging out. Vegetarian options: Delicious bean burger.
My favourite hang out. Good food. Good venue. People seem to forget that they make great cocktails. Oh, and the absolute best staff. But you know... It sucks dont go.
Burger over cooked tired bun
Nice quick food .
Pretty good local spot, open patio outside and good seating areas inside as well a sheltered one again outside...dog friendly too
In the beef burger, the vegetables were the most noticeable, the taste of the meat was almost unrecognizable
This is an unfussy, cafeteria style place where you line up to place your order, pick up your food at the next food truck over, and pick a table. I ordered the beef burger with garlic aioli potato wedges. The burger was delicious and somehow very clean to eat. The potato wedges are heavenly. The service is minimal. I would go back and I do recommend for a fast bite if you happen to be in Squamish!
Delicious wraps, wedges and beer. Awesome atmosphere. Hot spot for mountain bikers. I wish you could opt for a wrap without the wedges though as its super filling and fairly pricey.
This is an essential Squamish experience. Great food, great vibe, great beer selection.
I had really bad experience, food made me sick very badly.
Fun cool space and delicious food! We had the brisket and it was 5 stars!! Thank you! I ll hit this place every Squamish drive thru.
Dog friendly patio, fantastic ban mi, really good wedges, brisket was also very good. Well be coming back very soon.
This is a cute place. Pretty decent food and atmosphere. We ordered the hummus and pita for $6 as a side and the portion of hummus was very small. (We also ordered drinks and meals for 5) We asked for more and with some trouble it was sort of honoured. In the end I asked for a refund and after some arguments Hala agreed. This 5 star review is not for the current experience, but for the refund. Even though the service experience was rough Hala made it right in the end.
Seriously underwhelming. Waited nearly 45 minutes for two wraps. Raw, large dice red onions, cukes and raw kale on under seasoned and under done falafel, bland hummus that burned with raw garlic. A lackluster bahn mi, hardly any veg, poor sauces. Totally boring food. At an exorbitant price. $45 for two wraps and potato wedges with mayo. Classic food truck nonsense. Killer venue, honestly looks great but with food of this quality, with wait times the main topic of conversation amongst patrons on the patio, and dismissive staff, I cannot recommend. Cmon, do better.
45 minute wait for two overpriced and underwhelming wraps. Bahn Mi pork was tasteless (would not recommend). Potato wedges were crispy and delicious though. Atmosphere is good. Nice big patio. If you re not in a rush, it s a nice place to hang out and have a bevie. Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free replacement wrap. $1.50 extra.
This place was great, amazing vibes. A huge patio, with indoor seating as well. They have a nice set up for ordering; a separate line for drinks keeps the line-ups short and you can order food online to skip the line entirely. Everyone is super helpful and they have a great selection of beers from the Lower Mainland. One of my new favorite places in Squamish
Parking: If youre visiting with bikes for the surrounding mountain biking, you can typically see your bike from where you are relaxing. Food
Nice open patio area, decent food bit was a bit of a wait for part of my parties food order.
Their salmon burger or the BBQ beef brisket burger, with wedges ,10/10
A perfect outdoor environment to enjoy a nice summer day with friends. Great beer and great food. Highly recommend.
Recently tried their Salmon burger and mango guava ale on tap. Both tasted amazing, the patio was pretty chill and cozy with great views of Mount Garibaldi. Will visit again.
Consistently delicious burgers and potato wedges. Also a great place to sit outside and enjoy a beer after a bike ride!
Welcoming outdoor space that allows dogs- great beer on tap, I enjoy their happy hour.
do NOT get the donair. Meat and pita are both dry as a bone. Also in case you re wondering where the salad dressing is: it s at the bottom of the green salad.
great food, cool vibe.
Excellent spot to stop for a meal and a drink. The food is exceptional but you might have to wait a bit if you go at a real busy time. It s a food truck that handles all the orders. I would get banh mi somewhere else personally. They have good salads. Great atmosphere and dog friendly outdoor seating.
Solid value, very good food every time.
Covered, heated dog-friendly patio. Surprisingly, good food for a little truck with very decent portions. Clean bathrooms and good atmosphere.
My wife and I will usually pop in for lunch whenever we are in Squamish . We really like the food normally but unfortunately our last few experiences have been disappointing especially yesterday . It seems our Bartender of the day young male was quite combative about the fact that the potato wedges that we where served with our bahmi where extremely oily and cold . Instead of just asking me how we could fix this problem he proceeded to immediately become combative not an appropriate response . We did eventually get refunded our money . It is unfortunate that I was treated this way a little to much attitude from the bartender . We will be taking a pass on this establishment for a while .
Last call for a beer on a friday at 9:30 pm
Favourite place in Squamish for a bite to eat! More streamlined order system now, which I appreciate. Pretty extensive good and drink menu, and the staff are always super friendly to me! Good parking situation, and adjacent to the cafe, shops, and my fav ice cream!
Our favourite place to stop by in Squamish for a bite after biking. Wait times can be slow, but chill out and have a beer and it won t seem that long. Always great food, wedges are top notch.
Our go to spot in Squamish! Try the bahn mi and the potato wedges
Solid place. I ordered the tofu bahn mi with a side of potato wedges. Very happy with the meal. And I ve eaten a lot of bahn mi s in my life. I liked the nice portion of tofu and it was grilled well. There s some good vegetarian and vegan options which is why I went here. Also good beer and wine and friendly staff.
Fairly priced food that tastes really good!
e!
Food is always delicious and creative, drinks are even better and the best winter patio in Squamish. Great place!
Had the pork bahn mi that was loaded with shaved pork and pickled veggies, and potato wedges that were well seasoned, and it tasted great. The inside where you order is a bit loud, but theres an outdoor area thats heated that was comfortable.
Great food always and forever!
Good food and atmosphere.
Ordered online from the parking lot two burgurs with sides. When you pay at checkout they charge a 15% tip without warning you. How can a restaurant charge a 15% tip for online takeout???? I would like to hear the justification for this from customer service or, whoever reads these complaints. Post response: Thank-you. I see the problem. When I tried to enter my credit card info into the blanks it would not accept the info. That part of the webpage doesnt work properly. I had to use GPay for the first time and enter my info and something happened there. You can tell the website builder that the credit card info entry has a problem.
We ate here on April 8th The atmosphere and setting is unique, the coffee shop looked like it had some real nice sweets which we did not try, however the food truck really sucked and ruined this experience. The prices way too high for what you are served. For $40 which included a tip which I whish I had not left (could only leave one when ordering prior to taking delivery of the food), we received two small wraps and a soup, hardly worth $40, but its not the $$ which broke the camels back. 1st, once we got our buzzer beeping we had to walk out to the truck, which was fine and expected, but out of the trucks window came two bare greasy cooks hand holding our small warps which were wrapped in paper and had the cooks grease transfer from his hands to our wraps paper which was gross. 2nd, we were offered no tray, so you then need to somehow transfer your order from the truck to the seating area which is behind doors which swing to the outside. I almost dropped my soup getting to my table and the gentleman behind me dropped his order twice getting to the door and then we saw him struggle with the door as well getting to his seating and awaiting partner.... 3rd, Lastly and most importantly, the food was not good. The soup a 7/10 was likely the best item, my wifes donair was OK but underwhelming; for $15+ is really sucked, should have been an $8 sandwich, and lastly my pork sandwich (Bahn Mi) had foul tasking pork, and wilted greens. I literally spat several bites out due to taste and texture and was only able to eat about half before giving up on it... Come for the coffee, sweets, alcohol, and unique environment and there is a great ice cream place in the adjacent building, but skip on the food truck.
Nice atmosphere and decent food but over priced. During the day its full of people working from home on their laptops so seating can be difficult if youre a paying customer.
Cool little hideaway behind the Canadian Tire. Lots of outdoor space to sit at.
I had the best salmon burger iv ever had. The bum was so crispy and fresh and the potatos were so yummy. It was very tasty.
Hidden gem worth seeking out
Stephen makes good falafels. Loved the Pemberton Radler.
Awesome burgers, wraps, sandwiches and sides (fries, coleslaw), along with a good beer selection. And its open later than most places in Squamish, which is convenient.
The Chicken Burger and the Whisky Lemonade were delicious. Great portions. I loved the courtyard with the picnic benches.
Do not miss if you are passing Squamish. Good beer with tasty burgers.
The most expensive Banh mi in the World 17.5$ for a tofu sandwich sir ! Inflation ? Its a food truck so its not the rent haha otherwise good food and really nice location! Please give discount for locals I cant afford 25$ lunch.
I ate something here once. it was good, i think
Chill vibe, food and drink aplenty from this bar, but also Cloudburst morning pick me up and X market for snacks. Had the roasted cauliflower salad that was generously sized and filling. Enjoy some wine. And next day had Chia pudding from the Cafe (that opens at 6am!!!) Definitely will return.
Cute little spot to stop for some great food! Food was amazing and hot. Staff super friendly. Would recommend checking out their little coffee shop too!
The food was fun and there were lots of options. Several good local beer choices. They have this interesting ordering arrangement. You make your order inside, including picking up drinks and then they give you a beeper that tells you when to pick up food at a food truck. Vegan options are available. We went there several times on our visit to Squamish for rock climbing. Dietary restrictions: They offer several different Vegan options
$4 happy hour pints après biking isnt to be ignored!
Excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere!
Its good. Great patio/garden. Dont bother with online ordering, Im pretty sure that dont start until you turn up to pickup.
Good selection of beer. Tasty food. Patio is really great. Wish they had fries.
My favourite spot to stop in Squamish! A great selection of food and beer! Friendly staff.
What should have been a 5 star review sadly lost stars due to customer service. I get that mistakes happen, its how staff deal with the mistake that can turn a bad experience into a good one. Food is great so well be back to check this place out again and hopefully have a better experience next time. Love that they have gluten free options (but if youre a celiac be careful). Salmon burger was delicious, too bad the experience left a bad taste.
Great quiz!!
Chill atmosphere, friendly service and good food! On a cold day, this could not have been more perfect. The potato wedges are so flipping good!! As well, their gluten free wrap option is the best I ve ever had. Can t wait to go back.
Phenomenal atmosphere, food and service. Will definitely come again!
après-ski
Lovely spot just off the Sea 2 Sky, dog friendly outside under the heaters. Beer on tap, Decent food, had the wrap/donair and the burger on two separate visits, they are good, but a little underwhelming for the price. Lovely and kind workers, queue for your own food/drink.
The sangria is good, dangerously good.
Great place. Good breakfast wraps. Open early.
Really bad salads
Coffee was really good, unfortunately service didnt feel the same. Wasnt that bad but just alright
Noice coffee and fast service, keep it up!
Love this spot
Stumble on this little gem... OMG, the setting, the principle, the atmosphere and the food are all amazing. Loved their donair, my must stop on our way to Whistler. Even our dog, love the place as she is welcome on the patio.
Had the Salmon Burger with potato wedges & a sour. ....both enjoyable & tasty. I will be back to try other options.
Went to visit this week after the Sea to Sky Gondola. What a great place. Super viby and welcoming. Had the Banh Mi which was excellent. Had a bite of my sons hotdog (Two Rivers beef) and it was incredible. Potato wedges were really, really good, as was the kale slaw.
Had dinner on Thursday and nothing we had was up to typical standards. We d had the same things as always but the buns, dressing, dips, everything was different. Not sure what changed recently but we really noticed.
The best fu$k^&g sandwich Ive ever had (and I normally do not swear). @milothehandsomepig
Atmosphere and drinks were good but food was hit and miss. Donair and wedges were good but chicken tenders were the opposite.
Weve been there several times after hiking in the area and the first few times were good, but the last 2 times the quality has gone downhill. The Portuguese buns for the chicken burger are over toasted and hard, the Kale Cole slaw is tasteless like they forgot to put the dressing or salt in it. And the falafel wrap sauce wasnt as good. Consistency is important in the food industry and it is lacking lately. May have to find another place to eat after hiking. Hope the quality improves soon!
The food and the coffee was FANTASTIC!
Great coffee, great food, great location!
A banh mi sandwich to die for, and a kombucha gin fizz. Spectacular.
Cool place food not so hot but Ill fill u up
Very nice area to have a bite to eat and chill in Squamish just off the beaten path.
Another one of Squamishs go to pubs. Food is decent with some dishes being especially good, such as the burgers and cauliflower. Good selection of beers and energetic servers to take your order. Great patio thats very spacious and large enough to handle good size crowds.
It really is just Beans around the world. A safe place to go for coffee, muffin, cakes and sandwiches etc.
Shafted and ignored by the younger staff but who I presume was maybe the owner? (She was a bit older) was the only who was attentive and nice. The older lady was friendly and answered my questions about the beet latte, when I went to pay, the younger staff member asked what I purchased and midway through talking she just turned away and went to deal with something else. Thought it was pretty rude on her end and would have appreciated if she said something instead of just doing that. Beet Latte was good and the lemon poppyseed muffin I got was crispy and moist. Would have given 5 stars but the way the younger staff acted left a sour taste to what was overall a good experience.
I didnt have food, but the beer list was decent. The margaritas were on the small side but tasty.
Friendly staff, nice place to sit and enjoy a good coffee
Would recommend 5-6 pitchers on sangria, puking in the flower bed and ripping around the parking lot naked.
Really lovely spot to work remotely. Delicious food! When it gets busy the wifi gets a bit logged down is all.
Good food and coffee here. Lots of seating available. The many milk options give a lot of choices to people with dietary restrictions.
Best patio in town. Dog friendly and heated. Food is some of the best in town... Even though it comes from a food truck. The drinks are exceptional as well
Cafeteria style where you order inside then go outside to pick up the food. Seating was difficult to find as many tables were being used as laptop work stations.
Giving it a 4 so hopefully this is taken as constructive criticism. The cafe is a great stop on the way up to Whistler but has possibly the worst coffee ive ever had. PLEASE dial your machine in/train the barista.
