Hathaways Diner in St. Albert

Wonderful little place, great food!

This place is always packed whenever I go, which is a great sign. The food portions are decent and filling. I usually get the skillet, and its so good!

Huge portions! I could only eat half of it. Clean and new. Friendly staff. Great tasting breakfast.

We went for Breakfast on a Thursday and were greeted and looked after immediately. We were personally greeted by Mich the owner and we had a nice chat. The food was extraordinary. Portions size & Quality was excellent. They topped up our Coffee several times. The Benny was fantastic and hit the spot. Try the pineapple pistachios cake. You will absolutely love it. If you are looking for a down to earth family oriented place in St. Albert, Hathaways is the place to go. Thanks to Mich & is Crew for a round up good experience!

Always enjoy the food here and the other location but this location is absolutely too cramped. The tables are smooshed so close together, especially the one by the door. Every time you get up you bump the other table (ours was bumped a few times) and it s just so awkward to hear everyone s conversation so clearly. I m shocked they wouldn t remove a table to give more space. Two person Tables themselves (along the wall) are so tiny so you re constantly asking for items since they don t come on the table or in bottles. Will not go back for this reason. It s only worth it if you re in the middle booths. Servers were sweet, but one forgot about us when we asked to know about the pies they had and left for the day without returning to the table so we had to go look for ourselves.

Food and service were good, no complaints. The room is so small and crowded. It would be great if the seating was comfortable but it is not. The tiny metal chairs, likely to squish in more tables, were so uncomfortable I couldnt wait to leave. I am an average sized person. If you are lucky enough to get a bench seat it is worth going to this restaurant but the way its set up, half your party would get the bench and 1/2 get the metal chair. There are 3 bench to bench seats in the middle of the restaurant but that wouldnt be my choice either.

Amazing spot. Always went to the original location as a child now that its closer to home any time the family goes for breakfast this is our first choice.

I had the absolute best brunch experience at Hathaway s in St. Albert! Our server Jacquie was an absolute delight and made sure everything came out correctly and promptly. The food and the pie is amazing- I would recommend this place to anyone

Had some pie that was billed as creamy apple, but it was basically just whipped topping-quite gross & calories ++++. Didnt care for the coffee & they had no brown sugar. Wont be back. Parking: Not enough handicap parking.

The BEST breakfast spot in st Albert / north Edmonton. Portions are huge, food is so fresh and seriously delicious. And all the servers are so sweet.

I took my mom for lunch yesterday. The food and the service is amazing! My mom can be picky and she loved this place!! The owner always takes time to come say hello to everyone and is so kind. This location is amazing! Dietary restrictions: Very good at accommodating

The original Hathaways diner is so cute. What Ive always thought a small dinner should be. This new Hathaways is of course brand new and bright but doesnt have the quaint decor. The food is the same, very good and quick. The service was amazing, way above average. Great choice for breakfast.

We had the Chicken & waffles/tenderloin eggs benny and they were mediocre at best. However, the pie was good and there are lots of options to pick from. The place was quite crowded/loud and the server couldnt keep up with all the tables, unfortunately.

Came here because my partner recommended. Food was really good with some larger portions with decent prices considering how inflation has affected things. The waitresses were friendly and the diner vibe was immaculate. The hashbrowns I wasn t a super fan of as I simply prefer crispy potatoes. The only other minor complaint I had was that I never got offered a refill for coffee even though I saw other patrons get offered coffee refills right next to us. Overall I would return again as the food was still amazing and I would definitely try other options.

Service here is incredible. Honestly cant beat the vibe. With two options of vintage and modern between the two locations, i think it has become a staple in the breakfast/lunch industry of edmonton! You have to try the pie it s incredible!!! Food

We went here for my birthday brunch, Our food was delicious! The drinks were on point! The recommendations from our server Jacquie were perfect, we did order what she suggested. Would give 10 stars if I could. (The iced coffee was amazing)

Came to Hathaways for a birthday brunch with some friends. We got the Nutella stuffed French toast and the Eggs Benedict. All of the food was so delicious. All of the servers were wonderful but Jackie was an absolute delight! We got the dunkaroo pie and it tasted exactly like dunkaroos! You have to try this flavour.

Took my grankids and their parents here for the first time. Food was amazing, they were great with dealing with the kids and I found the prices quite reasonable for the quality of the food. I highly recommend! Kid-friendliness: Great with small children. Very willing to accommodate.

It was such a lovely morning coming to this new location for breakfast. The staff were all so kind and checked on me frequently to make sure I was okay. The food was also super delicious, coffee was nice and hot, and the pie of course was amazing!! A gentleman who I sensed was the manager was very kind and checked in on everyone at the restaurant and it was easy to tell he genuinely wanted everyone to feel at home. I can t wait to come back here again :)

Our server was awesome! Dang, I forget her name but she had lovely nails . The personal welcome, by who I can only assume is the owner, was a nice touch. This restaurant is a keeper St. Albert!! Food

Nice location but pretty cramped inside with table arrangements that my toddler was bumped into twice by the servers which is bad especially if they are carrying diningware. Service was bad as well, having to repeat what we asked for as well as getting our order wrong by the waitress, etc.. food was a ok but with their pancake, it was like eating foccacia bread.

Everything I have had on the menu is always so good, the chicken and waffles is amazing! It s my go too - the chicken is always moist and crispy, the flavour is so good too!

The place is really crammed. Food was good but came out cold. Service not great and they could use another server as well. I ll give them another try though.

If you re looking for a restaurant to enjoy and relax in- this is not it. This location is very loud, and very squished. The setup is to maximize people, not for comfort and not for ambiance and with that said- not for private conversation between you and your company. A diner setting it is for sure because it feels like you re in a Tin Can. Tables tooooooo close together, including tables in corners where other guests had to move so the new arriving guests could squeeze in! Terrible! The food was meh, and the coffee even worse. I had the Sunrise Skillet. The potatoes had no flavour and were under-seasoned, the toast was barely buttered and cold, and the Hollandaise (ordered on the side) was tasteless. Even adding salt and pepper didn t bring this meal up to par. Unfortunately I won t be back, and would not recommend. Hathaway s in Edmonton was not much better. I had higher hopes for the St Albert location, but was disappointed.

We popped in to get a pie on the weekend, we didnt stay. It is so cramped and everyone is sat on top of each other. The pie was $35, which is ridiculously expensive in my opinion. It was lemon blueberry. You could not taste any lemon It was literally Graham cracker crust with a light no bake whipped cream / cream cheese filling and blueberry sauce on top. It was good, but very disappointing for what is was supposed to be and the price.

Amazing food and great service! Love the diner vibes and their pies are to die for. My dog LOVES their puppy pies as well! Highly recommend!

Waited an hour for a table.. DO NOT take a group of three or more.. they are not set up for it.. I feel bad reviewing a 1 star because I have been to original location and love it..

Great Food. Great service for an opening weekend! Owner was helping out, made us feel at home waitresses were super busy but did an awsome job. Sane great food and service as the original Edmonton location with a new modern vibe. I suggest a dedicated host at the front so the waitresses are not doing double duty. We will be back!!

Overall it was a good experience considering they just opened. The food itself was very good. I had the hathaway muffins the holidays sauce was delicious. The staff were very friendly but Im guessing overwhelmed because they just opened. We had a few different waitresses help us so we had a bit of miscommunication. We wanted to go containers for our pie but didnt receive them , no ice water it was warm. We waited a very long time for ketchup and for our bill. However we definitely will be back because the food is great.

Great food! Ingredients tasted fresh and flavourful! And prices are reasonable. The chairs were very uncomfortable but booth seats are fine. Needs a little more character added to walls like the original location. Service is very relaxed but seemed short staffed. Since the diner just opened will need to work that out with time. Would recommend for breakfast or lunch.

Hathaway s is a great place to grab breakfast or brunch. The food is great & the service is exceptional.

Food was good, however the staffing situation is deplorable. Only 2 servers for the entire restaurant. I feel bad for them and they are so busy. Not sure why the manager thought this was a good idea. He came around and said hello, but his overall demeanour seemed condescending and fake. Servers still do a fantastic job for what they can work with. Might return in a few months once they figure out their staffing.

I was just passing through visiting friends and had this diner recommended to me by locals! I was blown away by the amazing customer service and friendly staff?! (Especially Jacqueline!). The club sandwich being as tasty as it was, was just a cherry on top. Will visit again on my way back without a doubt!

Went for breakfast with my sister! It was an amazing experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent! Jackie is the best, she recommended the breakfast poutine which was delicious. It s our new favourite spot. We definitely will be back. Thank you for the great hospitality

Was able to check out the new location in St Albert. The food was fantastic and the service was great. Perfect breakfast and lunch spot close to home.

Really great experience. Food portions where really good for price. Had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was crispy and so moist it was amazing. The hasbrowns do come out a bit raw for our liking. Service was amazing! Between management and servers we where never left wanting. Atmosphere was a 4 just because if youre not in a booth the metal chairs are quite cold and a bit uncomfortable. Will definitely be back! Make sure you go early since by 9/930 there will be a wait because they are just that good!!

Went for a late lunch with the family after our day of shopping and was happy we swung by Hathaways. Both Kids have Fish and Chips while my wife and I had the California chicken club wrap and beef dip as well as slices of pie for dessert. The pie was definitely a highlight of the day.

Mitch, Jacquie and the team at hathaways are so lovely and really care about the guest experience. The food is amazing and is always plated so well. awesome family atmosphere and great decor! It will be our new brunch spot! <3 Food
