Dined here for the first time last night, everything was great. Busy with a show at the Arden but food arrived quickly, service was excellent. Lasagna was outstanding. Specials were likewise. Will be back. Food

Unfortunately we devoured everything so quickly, I only realized after that I never took any pictures, which I usually post with my reviews. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, arancini, and I had the beef ragu, all of which were delicious. The authentic tiramisu was the cherry on top of an incredible meal. The quality, portions, and service are really impeccable, especially considering the price point. I don t recall the last time I dined out and was able to enjoy a large plate of amazing pasta for only $20. I literally mentioned about 15 times to my husband how blown away I was by the 6 arancini balls you get for only $13. I highly recommend supporting this local family owned business, who clearly take a lot of pride in what they do.

What an absolute delight. If you haven t been. Go. Delicious authentic Italian food with an impressive wine list. Our server, Ed is a master of his craft. What a privilege it was to experience this place! Free parking in the back- family feel, you are encouraged to walk in the back door. Try the affogato for dessert. 10/10 would recommend.

I don t eat Italian food often but this was hands down the best restaurant I have eaten at in a very long time. The owner and server that we had gave the best service and I highly recommend this place. Will for sure be coming back soon and you should too!

Fantastic spot with great food and excellent service, wait staff is very attentive, and really elevate the experience. My only suggestion would be having more non alcoholic drinks options like mocktails, but thats hardly a sticking point.

I booked for 13 of us to come for dinner before a show at the Plaza Series. I had left a phone message and Ed called me back to confirm even though they were closed for a couple of days for a family gathering. He also called two days prior to the booking to see if the numbers had changed. When we arrived sporadically between 5-5:30pm they were ready for us. Sue gave us excellent table service with food, drinks and starters and handed out the bills afterwards with no issues. All 13 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, with not one complaint. I would highly recommend this restaurant, Ed and Sue and all the staff! Thank you for a great experience!

Came here for brothers graduation last night, was our first time trying it and wow, the food was AMAZING! As well as the service was incredible, Ed was our server and he was so nice and gave us lots of recommendations and made our night lots of fun, only downside is the place is quite small so it gets loud quick but other than that i will be returning!

Had a really good experience here. Excellent service, food was delicious and arrived promptly. Staff put in that extra effort to enhance the experience as well with some personal touches. All for what was a very reasonable price considering it was a full 3 course meal with a drink. Will need to find a reason to make it back sooner rather than later.

This place is fantastic! Everything about it is great! The staff is so friendly! They checked in, made some recommendations, and were always smiling and laughing with us. They were happy to serve us. The food is amazing! We ordered all the Carbs! But well worth it. The dill pickle pizza was so tasty! Not over powering but the right amount of dill and pickle. The mozzarella spears are to die for! The mains we ordered were well worth it. The portion sizes were huge and the flavors were all better than expected. This place has went above and beyond to ensure that we left as happy customers. We will be back again with more family and friends!

Excellent veal meatballs with mushroom cream sauce.

I really wanted to like this place and had high hopes, given the existing reviews, but the meal was just bad. One of the worst I ve had in several years. The pizza crust was not at all special and if anything, I ve had better from a frozen grocery store section (though the tiny chicken pieces on the parm pizza were good). The bread tasted stale and there was very little oil/balsamic. The gnocchi was rubbery in a soupy sauce. The mushroom tortellini looked good but it was intolerably salty (and I love salt). I ve felt sick now for a full day from the food. I probably would have overlooked a lot of this had we not been asked to leave, by another staff member, for another reservation. We were given three minutes. The second time they came it was a bit of a frantic - the next guests are here, with an urgency to leave immediately. We were there for a birthday, and our friend seemed so disappointed with the whole experience. The only redeeming thing- the tiramisu was excellent. The server was friendly, the food was awful. None of us will be back. Edit: After reading some of the other reviews/comments, it strikes me that the owner doesn t receive feedback well. I hope they ll take this and learn instead.

I absolutely adore Luisa Risto! Everything about it the restaurant, the staff, the owners, and the food is just perfect! We visited on May 3rd, and even though the restaurant was busy, we were treated like VIPs. Thank you for filling our tummies with delicious food and creating such a memorable experience. Well definitely be back, as weve become regulars now! Ill be sure to recommend Luisa Risto to all my friends and family.

Poor gluten free options, some food is good, most was average, Bruschetta for instance was lacking in garlic, balsamic, and tomatoes. Meat portions in pasta could also be increased, was quite small. Long wait time for food, and when asked about this, we were provided a nonsensical explanation by staff, and then were further ignored until the bill was served. Server wasnt knowledgeable on menu items, and took reminding on our appetizer order. They also squeeze a lot of tables in, so it is very tight, loud, and cramped. If that is your thing, youd love this restaurant as it does try to go for a more homey feel, but not a quiet homey.

Had the calamari to start. It was lightly coated, seasoned and crispy. It was delicious. For dinner we both had the Diavolo our go to if there is no chefs special. The owner always remembers us and seats us at the same table. It is a warm, cosy and intimate place for dinner.

Whenever I visit, the portions are generous for the price point (which is rare nowadays) and service is always great. I got the vegetali which is penne, fresh spinach, mushrooms, diced tomatoes & rose sauce. Perfectly seasoned, it wasnt too salty and just tangy enough for my liking. I was left feeling truly satisfied with my meal. For dessert, their tiramisu is divine! You have to try it because its the best way to end off your dining experience. I also saw that with bigger parties/bookings, the restaurant tries their best to bring out everyones order around the same time. It takes hard work to time manage all of that which they do well. Much appreciation for all the staff here.

Our group of four had a wonderful experience in your restaurant last night. Our server was exceptional (I believe Lannie?). Personable, helpful, observant and fun to interact with. The food from the arancini to mains to desserts was fantastic. Cocktails were lovely. Absolutely delicious, great portions, and beautifully presented. A memorable dinner. Can t wait to come back.

A wonderful little restaurant, every time Ive come it is quite busy so I recommend getting a reservation. Excellent food, with generous portions and really good value - 2 Appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks all in was under $100. The wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly, with the right amount of attentive.

Amazing food and excellent service, which is so rare these days. The special was perfect: breaded basa with linguine, my hubby had the best dill pickle pizza ever, and the Gnocchi, my sister had was beautiful. My twin cousins were visiting for their 52nd birthday, and they received a birthday card! Definitely recommend it, and we will go back soon!

I went to this restaurant me and my friend. And we did not book a reservation. There were two of us. And behind me there was a couple. And after the restaurant waiter said we do not have room. We walked out. And they said the same thing to the couple behind us. So as we were leaving to the car. The waiter came out and said to the people we found a table for two. And we were there in line before the couple. And the waiters were very rude. Do not recommend.

Food is tasty but quality has gone down from a few years ago -hardly any fresh basil or bocconcini on the bruschetta. Still the same large portions so leftovers are guaranteed. An item was dropped off that we asked about but didn t order. The server left before we could say anything. Since we showed interest and had a large bill, I thought it was a little extra they wanted to give us. As we were about to dig in, the owner s wife apologized and took the item back to the kitchen. Within a minute, the same item was brought to the table next to us (not sure if it was the same plate though). Other plates were taken without a word as we were still eating. They are always happy to pack everything up for you to take home. Overall, the staff are extremely charming and friendly but communication and timing could be better. Thank you for keeping this restaurant alive and please feel free to reach out if you d like more feedback. This is our new favorite place for dining in. We have been served by the owner and the Italian princess waitress. Both very attentive, warm and remembers us after only being there once. Food is fresh and so good. Nothing beats this Italian restaurant. Try for yourself.

Came here last night for the first time and it wont be the last. Delicious appetizer and pasta mains. Parked at the back and snuck in the back door. Very convenient.

Wow! My wife and I just happened to be in the area and stumbled across this absolutely amazing restaurant! The service by Rena was superb she was very welcoming and did a fantastic job recommending the carbonara pasta and vegetali. Both were outstanding!! Highly recommend visiting here if you are looking for the best italian in the city!

Top level service and food quality while surprisingly affordable. On your first visit you will regret ever having patronized Olive Garden. This place is so highly recommended by word of mouth it does not and needs not any advertising. I had spoke to my friend earlier in the day and asked a recommendation for an authentic Italian restaurant and he suggested Luisa Risto. Hours later my girlfriend and I arrived and left thoroughly impressed (and stuffed). Vegetarian options: I recall a handful of vegetarian pasta dishes. Parking: Quiet 2H street parking directly out front.

Stop everything youre doing and head straight to Luisa risto in St. Albert. I had the privilege of having dinner there and it was, without a doubt, the best restaurant experience Ive ever had. The food was out of this world, the drinks were phenomenal, but what truly made the night unforgettable was our server, Rena. Ive never had a server that was so funny, personable, and downright amazing. She went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. In fact, the end of the night ended with hugs for her and Ed, another staff member, because they were just that great. And the espresso martini? Lets just say it was a work of art. Luisa risto has set the bar so high, I fear I may never have a dining experience that compares. Dont wait another second to check it out. Luisa risto is the restaurant of your dreams. The atmosphere was amazing, waiters were such gentlemen, waitresses were courteous, their bruschetta was absolutely devine and their main course was delicious and filling. Its absolutely spotless in the restaurant and has got to be one of the cleanest restaurants Ive been too.

Perfect experience. The food is very high quality, and the flavors are so nice! Theyre subdued but very complex at the same time. I recommend trying out the new menu items whenever they come out! I really enjoyed coming here when it was dark out, as the interior lighting/decor really shines. The seating was nice, and the service was excellent.

Was celebrating my birthday and my brothers birthday with a bunch of family. Made a reservation, and they had two personalized birthday cards for us on the table when we arrived! It was so sweet. Ive found Google reviews to be highly subjective, but the high reviews for this restaurant are spot on. Its a cozy, friendly and affordable place to enjoy absolutely great food. The menu has a variety of items sure to please any appetite. It was loaded with so many things I wanted to try - it was our first visit, so it was all new. Both my wife and I were so impressed and I promise, you will be too.

Such a great place to eat!!! The owner is up and working with everyone else. All staff are super friendly and attentive. Food is absolutely amazing and priced right for a nice restaurant. We were quite surprised when they gave us the cutest card when they found out it was our anniversary! Such personalized service! We had Sanpalegrino, appetizers, dinner and dessert for less than $50 per person. There was enough to take home! We will definitely be returning many times.

I Have had both the privilege of working in and the pleasure of dining in this establishment and I can say with confidence there really is no equal to the food, staff and professionalism that this restaurant demonstrates. The owners are some of the hardest working people I have ever met and the food is made with love and care for every single person that walks through those doors. It really speaks volumes when you see the passion inside the kitchen and not just in the dining area as I did. So please, the next time you are looking for amazing food in a great atmosphere consider supporting something really special like this local gem.

My bf brought me here for the first time as he s been raving about the food, and I say rightfully so. We started with the arancini, which had a delicious sauce to pair, and I had the gnocchi as a main. Food was great, service was amazing, and had some great wine. Only con is that it s a small restaurant so tables are very close proximity causing it to be a bit loud, but I still had a great time.

I enjoyed the summer salad. Had the sambuca shrimp as an entree and it did not have any sambuca flavour at all, another person in my party said the same about hers. When I mentioned it, the person who came to the table said, Are you sure? Grrr so insulting. Big explanation and a half hearted ask if he could do anything. If you want Italian, there are many better restaurants in the area.

One of my favourite restaurants of all time! You cant go wrong with whatever you order and the staff are amazing. So happy my mom and I get to celebrate our birthdays here every year.

My husband and I stopped in for impromptu dinner last night. We were greeted very warmly and promptly seated. Love the quaintness of it. Rena was our server and she was exceptional. Always feel warmly welcomed. The food is absolutely top notch with incredible specials and main menu. Weve been many times and tried damn near everything. Love this place more than I can say here, just exceptional.

Still the Best Italian restaurant Ive ever been too! The staff and owners are so nice and friendly. The restaurant is family owned and they grow alot of their own vegetables. The food is amazing! Everything was perfectly prepared and cooked. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Once again a lovely experience with these folks! We were here last year for our anniversary and came back again because of the great service and really good food. Went home full and had a great time again! The fish special was out of this world (please bring it back again)! Will definitely be back again, hopefully earlier than next year! If you are going here, definitely make a reservation for the weekend unless you are coming after 8pm(this is one of the best restaurants I have ever seen for honouring reservation times) its busy but the staff keeps it feeling relaxed. A special thanks to our waitress, like last year you made our 23rd anniversary great!

We came on a Friday evening after many of our friends raving about this place. We didnt make a reservation and the place was full but they offered for us to sit at the bar. After a few drinks and appies, a table opened up so they moved us to a table. The food was amazing, such quality ingredients and seasoned beautifully. We understand that the sauces simmer for 4-5 hours and are made fresh daily The service was the best we have had in the city. The servers were personable and every single server acknowledged us. The tiramisu is a must try and the cappuccino was brewed to perfection Hidden little gem in St. Albert! Highly recommend Bon Appétit

Wonderful service, atmosphere and food for a date night. Really great value as well as both my partner and I left full after a pasta and a cocktail and the bill was only $59! We would definitely come back.

My first date night in almost a year and by far the best and most amazing experience. Food and All staff were Amazing. Its hard to find a 100 percent everything cooked to perfection meal. Scallops, mussels, prawns, calamari.. Everything was perfect. I wanted to personally thank the owner but he was busy in the kitchen!! I will be back and have already passed Luisa risto on to many!! Amazing service and food, and a decent number of gluten free choices for one of our party. Ed prides himself in his thorough knowledge of his menu and everything in it. The rest of the staff is just as nice. We are fortunate to have this gem in St. Albert.

Went there for a birthday and it was wonderful. My first time going but not the last. Absolutely great place for a celiac like myself. Waiter was very knowledgeable with the menu and what was gluten free. Detailed about the menu and how things were made. Would recommend as it was delicious.

Dined in and served by Avary. She was great, very attentive with a pretty full place. Food was amazing! Came out quickly and hot. It was all delicious! The menu had plenty of options as well. Price was right too, nothing was crazy expensive for a good night out.

My friends and I went to Luisa Risto last night to celebrate a birthday. Luisa Risto was a hidden gem for us as Edmontonians, but we are so glad that Googling Best restaurants in St. Albert led us here! The food was cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed the mussels with Italian style corn salsa, as it had some fire to it. I would also recommend the al tartufo pizza for truffle lovers. The feature was a gnocchi bathed in a creamy rose sauce with baked cheese and house-made sausage - yum! Our server did a phenomenal job explaining the specials, topping off our wine glasses and ensuring we were happy with everything. Well definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from Luisa Rito on perron st in St.Albert and it was absolutely amazing! I ve order this same dish a couple months ago and the dish was prepared the exact same way. No surprises, just deliciousness. Thank you team Luisa!! I will be ordering again . Very soon.

Update July 2, 2022. Nice to see this place survived and continues to dish up great Italian food in a friendly environment. Service is still great and prices are very reasonable. Have been back for lunch and supper and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Support the great, local owned, stand alone restaurants, we dont have near enough of them. Update Feb 12, 2020 Been back a few times for lunch and once today for supper. Food continues to be excellent, very reasonable prices for a mid to high end restaurant in St, Albert. They also have a good wine list at fair pricing. Finally, an extensive gluten free selection of dishes. Service is always friendly, helpful and excellent overall. Well worth giving it a try. Well worth giving it a try. Jan 2019 This restaurant is under new management and the difference is truly huge. Service is friendly and accommodating, food is excellent and pricing is reasonable for the quantity and quality. Had lunch there today, $15 for Spaghetti and three large veal meatballs. Pasta was cooked perfectly, sauce was full bodied and tasty and the meat balls were great for adding some protein to the carbs. A definite winner. The new owner even brought me a complimentary desert and it too was very good. Good wine selection at reasonable prices, some craft beers but no domestic stuff for those of us that prefer Molson Canadian to craft beer. I believe they are planning to add a few mainline options to their selection. I will definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes.

Wow who knew the Italian we were making during Covid actually wasn t that good? This place is amazing, the service is second to none. We used to drive to downtown Edmonton for great Italian, not anymore. The cannelloni comes highly recommended by us!

I ve been to Louisa s many times as it s on of our work favs. The food is always delicious, hot and fresh!! I ve had the pleasure of enjoying most things on the menu and have yet to find something I don t like. Whether it s eat in or take out, the outstanding customer service finishes off an exceptional food experience at Louisa s!!

I always have a wonderful experience at Luisas, and needed to give a shout out to them for my first take out order with them. It absolutely blew away my expectations. From the service to the cuisine, everything is always top tier. Always recommend.

What a gem! My wife and I chose Luisa after checking out the menu online and decided to spend our rare date night (sans children) here. What a wise choice it was! We were ravenous, so we started with the bread plate, bruschetta, and arancini. All was so fresh, flavourful and so so good. For dinner we had the lasagna and cannelloni. Id heard rumours about the monstrosity of the lasagna portion, and they proved correct. It was massive! I couldnt count the layers. Dont assume it was quantity over quality either... it was fantastic. I had to save half for tomorrow, very much looking forward to those leftovers. My wife had the cannelloni and was generous enough to share a bite... mouthwatering as expected. We cut ourselves off nice and early so we could enjoy dessert, and ordered the cheesecake to share. You guessed it... amazing. Delectable. Delicious. Highly, highly recommend. The atmosphere was perfect for our quiet date, but I also wouldnt hesitate to bring our foodie kids either, as Im positive they would love it as well. Thanks Luisas for a great evening!

Authentic Italian restaurant. Service was genuine and attentive. Food was amazing! Referred people already. If you order the lasagna you better be hungry!! Haha Everything we ordered was delicious!! Even the drinks! Definitely a cant miss if you want authentic Italian food!

We had an amazing wedding supper at this fabulous restaurant. They opened on Sunday for us and all guest choose their meal early so everything was ready when we got there. The food was a 10 out of 10. From the appetizers to the dessert . The men all were praising the Camrose pork chops. Thanks

We had dinner here before a performance at the Arden. Our server was Rena (sp?). Aside from the food being great, I just want to say what a phenomenal gem you have in her. She was professional, poised and so knowledgeable. While it was quite busy, she gave us the perfect amount of attention during our meal. I will be back based both on the quality of the food and the incredible service we received. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

Luisa has been one of my familys favorite restaurants for a very long time and I can confidently say everything on the menu is excellent as we have tasted it all. Arguably the best place in Edmonton and area to get authentic Italian food. Service is second to none and the relaxing, friendly atmosphere makes the experience memorable. So Ive been craving lasagna for a couple weeks now, was looking for local places on Google, and Luisa came up in my search being right here in St Albert. After skimming through the numerous positive reviews, my roommate and I decided to give it a try. Im absolutely thrilled that I did. Not only was the service friendly and happy to accommodate even my late order (I called 10min before they closed), but when I went to pick up the order 10min later, the owner was super friendly and helpful, had a great conversation about marketing vs word of mouth, and some of his regular customers, and the lasagnas potential for ending up being leftovers, lol. Suffice it to say that the food was not only amazing, but the serving was huge. I finished mine, but the roommate didnt, lol. I will definitely be going back again, and for anyone like myself that loves Italian food, its definitely a worthy addition to my list of places to get it. And VERY highly placed on that list. Oh gosh where to begin. We showed up an hour early for our reservation and they were very accomodating. My husband and I had calamari and the diavolo- so delicious I didnt want to stop eating it. Rina was our server and she was so friendly and made our night out even more enjoyable! Delicious food and warm atmosphere, will be returning regularly for sure.

Food is fantastic! Best chicken parmesan I have ever tasted! The first time we dined here was for our wedding anniversary - not only did the staff wish us happy anniversary there was a card on our table, signed by all the staff! Such a personal touch is really special!

We ordered four main dishes, a salad and 4 desserts for pick-up during covid no dine-in times. The pickup time was scheduled so we wouldnt run into other people. The food was made fresh and was hot when we got it home. Lasagna 4/5, Both seafood dishes 5/5 and the carbonara 5/5. Beet salad 5/5.Tiramisu 3/5. I loved that the owner called the next day to follow up and see how the food was. Its those extra touches that make it for me. We will most definitely be back. Thank you

With the current setup, it creates some privacy and intimacy. Food was wonderful, with pleasant service. Finishing off the evening with a walk along the river made for a perfect evening. Luisa will become one of the places, we will go back to.

My family and I came to Luisa to celebrate my university graduation. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful to see a congratulations card sitting on our table! What a personable gesture... We tried several drinks, appetizers, and entrées, and all of them were outstanding! The staff at Luisa truly went out of their way to make the visit feel memorable and special. I will definitely be returning to Luisa in the future, and I plan on trying their pizza when I do.

Was passing by in St. Albert and decided to try this place out. I had the Carbonara pasta and it was great! The server Ed was very good at describing the menu. He was very attentive and checked on us frequently to make sure we were having a good experience. The portions were generous and beautiful. If Im in the area and hungry Ill definitely be back!

This was our 1st time at this Italian Restaurant and it was amazing. Our server was friendly and very helpful with suggestions on what to have. We had mushroom soup, Ceasar salad, brushetta and Magherita pizza. The soup was the best I have ever tasted, the dressing on the salad was perfection, the brushetta was very tasty and the pizza...well I will never go back to the big franchise pizza place again. Will definitely be returning to try everything on the menu. You must try this local restaurant.

Incredible Italian food, a lovely atmosphere and impeccable service! We went here for the first time tonight close to closing time and were welcomed in by the owner Ed. We had the mushroom tortellini and carbonara and both dishes were amazing. Prices were reasonable and portions were generous. Service was second to none- attentive and friendly with great recommendations. The restaurant itself is elegant while still being cozy and making you feel at home. We will definitely be back.

Had a fabulous meal of pork cheeks, this weekends special. The chef, Miguel is always great at accommodating my gluten free diet-perfectly prepared vegetables & tomato sauce instead of rosé. Grazie!

Hidden gem! Worth the travel into St Albert if you like Italian food. Ed and staff were super accommodating while I waited for my food to go. The rapini and polpette spuntino were amazing appies and the diavolo pasta was sublime. Plus, all take out orders get 10% off food & 40% off wine (so you don t have to make a second trip). These guys are awesome. Ive loved their take out but, up until last night, havent eaten in their dinning room. When our reservation for a repeat anniversary restaurant cancelled on our 22nd anniversary, we called up Luisa... and man did they deliver. Great night, total pampering, even a hand-signed card. So encouraging, incredible food and now a new regular. Thank you again.

Amazing pasta and great service! I had the prawn special (only around for a limited time), it was one of the best pasta dishes Ive ever had. We also had the calamari and Caesar salad to start, and tiramisu, black sesame gelato and cheese cake for dessert. Great experience, very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere.
