Capital Pizza and Steak House My visit to Capital Pizza and Steak House was a mixed experience, starting on an off-putting note and ending with average impressions overall. The experience began awkwardly when the server led us to a section she herself referred to as Siberia. This term felt unprofessional and set a negative tone for the evening. The section felt isolated and didnt contribute to a welcoming dining atmosphere. As for the food, it had its highs and lows: The Mozzarella Sticks were passable but didn t stand out. The Bruschetta was a disappointment. The bread was soggy and lacked the crunch you d expect from a properly toasted base. The Chicken and Ribs were decent but far from memorable. On a brighter note, the pizzas were enjoyable, especially the Hawaiian Pizza and the Cheese Pizza, which were well-prepared with good flavors. The Veg Quesadilla (no mushroom) was underwhelming. The accompanying salad lacked dressing, leaving it dry and uninspired. For the prices charged, the overall meal didn t justify the cost. While the pizzas were good, the rest of the dishes didn t meet expectations, especially given the premium pricing. In summary, while Capital Pizza and Steak House has potential, inconsistencies in food quality and an unprofessional approach to customer service make it hard to recommend. A more thoughtful approach to both hospitality and food preparation would go a long way in justifying the cost and improving the overall experience.

Tonight I ordered regular size pizza with beef, mushroom, and pineapple, and it was to die for. It s so good to eat authentic pizza with real cheese I really hope I remember to keep coming back here The service tonight on this Friday night nice lady such good service They only need some nondairy stuff for coffee

Manager told me to not order from them anymore because I had a problem with the order I placed. Now there is customer service at its finest. Charged me extra for gravy when I didnt ask for extra gravy. The WORST customer service we have ever experienced from this restaurant. Becareful when you order from this restaurant and make sure you have them give you the amount they will be charging you before they send out for delivery.

Very discusted with the service. Ordered pizza and roat beef sandwich. When food arrived got charged for gravy and gravy tasted like turkey christmas gravy. Manager just said if you are not happy dont order again. Even though my family has been there at least 40-50times in the last 3 years. Will never reccomend to anyone again. Parking: We were greeted and seated by a very pleasant waitress who took our order of a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It didnt take very long before it arrived to our table perfectly cooked and generously topped with pepperoni, mushrooms and cheese. This was our second time dining here and will return again soon. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares material. Last time I went here we ordered Mozzarella Sticks and they served it with this bizarre tasting sauce that was kind of like a mix between BBQ and Sweet & Sour. We thought there was a mistake, but no, thats just how they serve their mozza sticks. That should be all you need to know, any situation in a kitchen where that can happen is not somewhere that anyone should ever eat at. Every time my family wants to eat here there is something similarly wrong with my food. Not wrong as in they mess up the order, wrong as in a distasteful culinary mishap. Theres also this weird flavor in every dish that I cant quite put my finger on, but is distinctly Capital Pizza. Its also worth mentioning that every time after I eat here I am in physical pain on the toilet within the next hour. 1/10, would not recommend

The pizza was absolutely loaded with cheese and toppings and the service was excellent. I should have known better than to order the Greek salad though - it was mostly tangy lettuce for $20. Definitely will stick to just the pizza next time! Great selection of kids meals too, if your kid somehow isnt into pizza.

Chicken parm was excellent!

Came in with my Dad. He had the ribeye, medium. I had chicken Caesar wrap. Shortly after receiving our meal and how hungry we were, started to eat of course. Little did my Dad know he ate about half of his ribeye and then I noticed it very very pink and bloody. Was medium rare. He can t eat medium rare. He decided to tell our server about the mistake. What would you like me to do about it was her response. I ve worked in the industry, that is not the first thing that should come out of a servers mouth when a customer complains about the meal. Yes we got a discount, but doesn t change the fact that this server refused to apologize and take the blame when she noticed that she wrote medium on her pad. Also the garlic bread Dad received was moldy. I think we are going to steer clear from this location for a while. Used to be such a loving and caring restaurant, now not so much.

Still good. But I would really love it if they added a second layer of meat like they used to. I understand new ownership might have different priorities, But when you are paying $25 for one pizza, A single layer of meat comes off as being cheap. I can get that at Little Caesars for half the price. Ive always been a topping guy, so this hits me a little harder.

First time eating at this location. I was amazed at how good the food was, after how bad the 144 Ave location has become. Had the Thursday steak sandwich lunch special, with spaggetti and garlic toast. A LOT of food for the price. Steak was cooked spot on Med Rare, a full 10 ounces with almost no trim. Sirloin is not the most tender steak but it has great steak flavour. I actually like sirlion a lot better than tenderloin because of the full beefy flavour. The Spaghetti Bolognese that came with is was a large portion and I couldnt actually eat all of it even though the Pasta was still eldante and the sauce had very good flavour. Older restaurant that could use a face lift but it is clean and in decent repair. Not where you would take your favourite lady for a special date but plenty acceptable for regular dining out. Bathrooms were also clean and in good shape. I will definitely go back for lunch.

Nice area with a nice small restaurant aesthetic, free WiFi, they accept reservations And walk in. Even on fathers day, went in without a reservation and got seated for 4 instantly. Food took a little while to come out though. Understandable considering fathers day. Food was alright, donair pizza was very good, I recommend. Overall very nice, slightly pricey though.

My favourite restaurant in St Albert and honestly, one of my favourite in Edmonton. The service is excellent and the food is always top tier, with reasonable prices. Will continue to come back again and again. Highly recommend.

I stopped in today to pick up two pizzas that I ordered. They had them made two pizzas and I left. I received the phone call shortly after requested me to come back because they gave me the wrong order. For some reason or another wanted to meet me outside the door in the parking lot. When I arrive, they were outside and handed me my pizzas. I had to hand them the pizzas they accidentally gave me by mistake. What I am worried about, did they give these pizzas to somebody else? How do they not know that I did not do anything to these pizzas? I thought the rule for handling food in this situation is they cannot take food from someone and give it to someone else. What I was very surprised about is they strongly suggested to meet me in the parking lot and would not allow me in the building. So, the pizzas I accidentally received was the person waiting inside the building and they did not want them to know what happened. Because I had to return back to the restaurant to switch pizzas. This caused me to be 45 minutes late getting home due to traffic. The staff was very apologetic for what happened. once again what I m worried about. Did they reuse these pizzas and gave it to somebody else? I don t think this is proper procedure and what would Alberta health services would have to say?

This is a strictly service based review as I wasnt given a chance to order. I called at 4:10pm on Friday Feb 2nd 2024 and ask if I could pick up at 5:40pm and was told No! Its ready in 25 minutes I thought it was a miscommunication on my part so I apologized and said I want to order now for pick up at 5:40pm and they said No! Pick up in 25 minutes or dont order. So thank you Busters for accommodating my pick up at 5:40pm

Its still one of the best places for good pizza and other entrees.

I havent been there in over 20 years, our group decided to go there so I had no choice! I had the ribeye steak. That was the toughest ribeye I have ever had. Tough and my jaw was sore from chewing. So needless to say, I wont go back. Im sure their other food is probably good but when we rarely go out in the first place and wanted a good steak, that was definitely the wrong place to go. VERY disappointed. Its kinda funny cause steak is the second word in their title so ud figure theyd ave prime grade A non frozen steak.... nope.

Waited 40 minutes for average food

Ordered food for pick up at 6:15. Someone needs to tell them that that means the food should be taken out of the oven near that time. Not a half hour earlier. Got it home by 6.25 and it was stone cold. The cheese had congealed on the pizza to the point that a sharp knife had to be used to cut it where it was previously sliced. Absolutely horrible. First time in a long time I have thrown away pizza. Could not get to the garbage can quick enough. What a horrible experience.

This is my favorite pizza spot in St. Albert! The pizza is always so good, the friendly staff are always very welcoming and pleasant whenever I am there picking up my order. A must try!

Went for dinner the food is mediocre and we discovered a bug on our table. The owner came over and said sorry I will bring you your bill. She didn t seem to care that we were not happy. She didn t do anything to make the situation better.

This is a great place with great owners that are very attentive to their customers. Seems to be a family run operation and feels that way too. I had the steak and lobster for 50 dollars and honestly everything was cooked very nicely. I dont think the cut of steak was the finest but it was good all the same. The wife enjoys liver and onions and they make it for her despite not being on the menu anymore. We have been here twice and will definitely go back. The pizza is also amazing and a great choice to feed the table as well.

We came as a group after a funeral for a relaxing visit. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice, other than the air conditioner was blowing on us even though it was -20 outside. Our server was friendly but didnt check on us very often and we had to ask multiple times for various things. Sometimes flagging down a different server for help. Overall it was good, not great, but we would go back if in the neighborhood.

One of the best pizzas Ive ever had! We always get the Capital special, toppings are plentiful and it has the perfect crust thickness. We dont bother going anywhere else for pizza in St. Albert because we always find ourselves thinking This is nowhere as good as Capital

Waited more than 40 mins for an appetizer (Bacon wrapped scallops) and Pizza to come out. People who came in after me and my date were served food before us. The pizza was flavorless and crispy. Absolute horrible experience. When asked what is taking so long the server said the kitchen is busy even tho there was only customers at 2 other tables besides ours.

This location has an old school atmosphere. Its very open its clean and bright. Id never been here before but surprisingly we showed up with a large group of about 30 people. There was minimal staff at work and they were able to turn out the food in excellent time. The server was wonderful, warm and welcoming. Very attentive and really hustled to make sure the entire restaurant was taken care of because there was not only us theres other guests as well. I am Celiac as many of my readers know and this location does serve a gluten-free crust that is very good. The toppings were excellent lots of cheese and deliciousness just the way I like it. I would highly recommend Capital pizza and Steakhouse to anyone that wanted to get a really good meal. Dietary restrictions: I am Celiac so my pizza was gluten free.

I ordered a donair pizza, it was excellent. I am sure that Ill order another from here soon, it was better than Nitzas. The interior was open and welcoming. It had a really friendly vibe to it, like, it felt as if it were a cozy small-town pizza parlor.

I havent been there for years and had forgotten how good the food is. Buy far one of the best pizzas Ive had. All our meals were excellent. Highly recommend this great place.

The food was good, except we got a different pizza then what we had ordered. The waitress asked me if I was sure 3-4 times. We had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. We paid for a pop with refills included. We were lucky to get one refill. The pizza s were really good, but sadly the bad service outweighed the good food. They weren t even busy . There was us and 3 other tables and 2 waitresses. If they were busy then I could understand but they weren t. Prob wouldn t go back unless it was take out, but we don t live in St. Albert so that won t happen. The waitress also went to put the bill on the table and asked us if we wanted the machine? She didn t even put the bill down for us to see. Went and got the machine, punched in a total and gave it to us to pay!!! Nope never again.

Capital Pizza has the best Pizza and Pasta! I usually get the meat Lasagna with extra Cheese but recently discovered they have amazing Alfredo Sauce so now its going to be a toss up!

I celebrated 300 days sober yesterday. YES!!! So I wanted to treat myself to a nice, thick, juicy (rare) steak. And thats exactly what I got!!! It was so delicious!!! The steak came with mashed potatoes with gravy on them and cooked carrots. The side dish was a Caesar salad which was very tasty as well. Two thumbs up to the beautiful lady that took my takeout order. :) David

We went in on Labour Day for supper. We ordered pizza, lasagna, burgers etc. Everyone enjoyed their food, and liked the restaurant, as ot was our girdt time in. Portions were generous, food was fresh and well prepared. Service was good as well. I found the pizza sauce a bit sweet, but we are on a low sugar routine at home. The A/C was a bit cold, that was my only complaint. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Best pizza in St Albert and Edmonton hands down

Pizza and decor is classic from the 70s with lots of toppings and thick, crispy crust. This time however the crust was raw on the top in the middle. When I mentioned to the server she said she would tell the kitchen, then avoided us until it was time to get the bill. I have had very good pizza from here, but this wasnt their best day.

Do not order from this Capital Pizza! The pizza I got last night was the last pizza I will ever order from them! There was LOTS of uncooked Dough in it! And the Chicken tenders weren t cooked properly with uncooked Dough in it also! The Lasagna was Disgusting with way too many onions! Save your money and time by going somewhere else. They don t listen to your instructions and cook your meal however they want or I should say they don t cook there meals well at all. I would rather get a Pizza from a Grocery store rather than having them cook me a pizza!!!!!!!

The pizza is absolutely amazing here, I order pizza everytime I come and never once been disappointed, everything is always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I recommend capital to anyone who is visiting St. Albert or who may be staying in our around the area. Also great service and the staff is very friendly which is sometimes hard to find but at capital you get great service as well as great food and that makes the dine in experience fantastic.

Best pizza Ive had

Our family has been going to Capital for years - we love supporting local. The food is always good and it has the service to match. Our go-to order tends to be the lasagna and it never fails. The one thing weve had that were not the biggest fans of is the meatballs... theyre not bad but theyre not moms either, you know? We just opt not to add them. The parking lot is huge, so we never really struggle to find a spot. Definitely a bonus! Price are about what you would expect - middle of the road, but worth it!

Horrible treatment of customers!!!! A fellow resident who lost her husband recently had to deal with awful treatment from the manager and employees. When attempting to use a gift card they were told they couldn t because they didn t mention it prior to paying. Why is that? They did finally allow it, but not after questioning the legitimacy of the gift card and asking the customer to call the person who purchased it for them!!! Avoid!!!!

Usually its really good but last time a lot of the dough on my pizza was undercooked, almost a pasty texture. It got even worse the next day when I reheated it and it just so happened to be the most undercooked part. My god that was awful.

Me and my son love this place, the employees and the super kind owner. We always have there awesome pizza and the portions are very generous. Bring your family down and enjoy a big meal and then take a nice walk along the beautiful sturgeon river.

Not sure if they were short staffed this Friday but it took 20 minutes for pasta and a small pizza. I witnessed some unhappy customers who were getting take out. One lady had her takeout order messed up twice. I could see her getting more and more flustered each minute. Poor lady. My donair pizza was soggy. They drenched it with sweet sauce to the point that it looked like soup. The pasta was good though. Good portion for the price. I will most likely not be returning. We have been here a couple times and had no complaints. Today definitely left a bad taste in our mouth. Don t recommend.

This place has always been a treat. It sold a few months ago but the new owners haven t changed a thing. Except now they deliver! Same staff. Same cook. Awesome. The best pizza in town. Without exception, I have always been happy with every meal I have ordered here. And the nooner pizzas are fast. It took me less than 25 min from time of ordering a nooner to taking the first bite. Nothing could be better!!!

We just moved to St.Albert and decided to try Capital Pizza for our first dinner out as a family in our new city. The food was great (you gotta try the poutine!) and the waitress was absolutely amazing. We had a small issue with one of our meals, and she went way above and beyond what was necessary to make sure we left happy. We will definitely definitely be back, I need to try the lasagna and pizza for sure!!

I know burgers can be soggy when you order delivery or take our. But I couldn t even pick my burger up. It was overly soggy, mushy. And the chicken also wasn t the best. Hopefully better luck next time if we ever decide to eat there again

It s an old classic in st.albert, if you ve had it once you re always going back for more. It s that comfort food you know won t let you down. One word Lasagna!! The pizza is amazing but that goes without saying. But the Lasagna if I was being totally honest it s so good I ve wanted to order two eat one on the spot and take one home to chase that flavour later. It s delicious, fresh, and just hits the right spot for flavour. The location is a bit dated but nobody is going there for the decor, what you came to hear is the food, and that my friends is all Aces! If you ask my mom the mushroom caps are also one you gotta make room to try. Either way not much you can say other than tasty, awesome price and always nice!

A friend recommended this restaurant to me Was that a mistake? I ordered for delivery Had to call in to confirm my order. I asked how long it would take was told 40 to 45 minutes 60 minutes went by called back talk to another gentleman. Oh you re order Should be there in 5-10 minutes ok 25 minutes later, I m about to call and cancel my pizza and the doorbell rings Don t tell people a time that you can t promise The pizza is just mediocre. It s very salty it has a lot of toppings We ordered the pineapple It was a lot of cheese on it If you were a cheese lover, it s great but the problem with so much topping in thick cheese is the dough doesn t get cooked enough we still had uncooked dough definitely will not be ordering from you guys again my chicken pizza turned out OK Update I also run a restaurant I know sometimes things get busy but lying to the customer about time just makes them more mad if you can tell me that it was gonna be around 1:30 Then I could make the choice of ordering from someone else, right And just because you re busy doesn t mean that you can give me raw pizza dough

This is my favorite place for pizza! Seriously, I had to use both hands to carry out my two pizzas tonight because they were so heavy! They load on the toppings and cheese and it s so filling! My favorites are the meat lovers and Hawaiian (add pepperoni). Definitely worth it! You won t regret it!

Found out that they are selling medium sized pizzas for the price and size of a large. They argued with me and once they could not answer the discrepancy. So watch out when you order as you may pay more for a large pizza and receive a medium.

Really great Pizza. Loads of fresh toppings and great cheese. Use a fork and knife because of how they slice it. Busy location that accommodates big groups.

The food was excellent! Very delicious. I was not able to find the foods I need for my limited diet, so I lived on the edge and had a delicious steak!

Ive only ordered delivery from another Capital location before and its always been delicious. We were in the area so decided to dine in. Our experience was mediocre at best. They seemed short-staffed for the volume on a Friday. Servers were seating tables and forgetting about them, or not telling other servers that someone was sitting in their section. A server was also saying people couldnt sit in certain areas because of COVID, but then another server would seat a group people in that area. Our food took a little longer than expected, which given that it was Friday night and they were busy, was okay. We were asked if we wanted refills on our drinks, we said yes, but they never happened. The deep fried zucchini was excellent but our go-to pepperoni pizza was underwhelming. It tasted as though it had been baked from frozen and was still a bit undercooked in the dough.

Best pizza in St albert by far. As close to deep dish without being deep dish. The cheese factor is 10/10 a large pizza will last a person 3 days just due to the volume of cheese and tasty toppings. Will continue to order from here when it comes to pizza. Highly recommend.

Large portions, steaks were cooked to perfection. Service was quick.

Great dinner at a good price. 12oz ribeye for $30 with prawns and a potato. Very filling. Barley soup looked good as well. Bathrooms were clean. Place was tidy, albeit busy being the dinner hour. Dessert menu looked delightful but after steak was only able to slide some icecream down. Waitress was friendly and fairly efficient considering the amount of tables likely assigned to her.
