The Mash | St. Albert in St. Albert

We tried to eat here tonight but they were closed for a private event. There was no signage indicating that they were closed. In fact, there was a sign outside that said they were open. Maybe try a little harder next time so people don t waste their time driving to your restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch by myself today and I had a very good experience!!! The beer was great and the pizza phenomenal!! The staff was very friendly and the service was exceptional. I tried 2 of the beers and took a growler of a 3rd home and they were all excellent! As a hobby brewer, I absolutely love the fact that they use some of the spent grain from the brewing process to make the pizza dough. It gives it a very subtle sweetness, and very different than any other dough I have tried. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!! A must try.

Ben and Casey hosted my granddaughters whole girl guides troop. They got to make pizza plus all siblings were included. I cannot say enough great things about this establishment!!!!

Amazing food and even better staff

Gotta say folks - if you havent hit up The Mash for a pint of their amazing beers or a slice of za then youre missing out big time! Went there for the first time and felt instantly at home! Ben welcomed us with a big hello and treated us like we were old pals! We had the wild mushroom pizza. Large. When it arrived my buddy said omg were not going to eat all this are we? I laughed and laughed and enjoyed every bite until it was gone! I havent had a pizza that good in a very long time. Ben, you can bet your wild mushrooms we will be back - and it wont be long! Thank you Ben - YOU are awesome

The town where I live has no good pizza, thank god Mash is 40 minutes away!! Best pizza in Alberta, hands down. Beer is good too!

Customer support and the team behind the scenes are non existent. I got a $100 gift card sent from head office to this location, picked it up, tried to use it a few months later finally and it showed it had $0.00 on it. Tried numerous phone calls to head office and emails and got no response. The beer and food and atmosphere are great but the customer service needs improvement. As a craft pizza and beer fan, this voided any momentum to go back.

We loved everything about the mash! The server/manager was amazing, so nice and friendly. The food was delicious and they have great craft beer. 10/10 recommend!

Apparently, they dont take cash because its 2024. Or so says who I presume to be the manager who answers the phone. This worker ensured Ill never try anything from this establishment. Ill stick to Red Swan, where the pizza is good and so is the service. Edit in response to Ben the manager: No thank you. I will take my business elsewhere, where there arent snarky employees with no sense of customer service, whatsoever, who seemingly hate their job. Whoever was running the place the day I wrote my review should be fired. Something tells me it was you.

Ive had the opportunity to enjoy the craft beer and great pizzas here on multiple occasions. Whether the engagement was personal or for business, The Mash has never failed to be a great atmosphere with outstanding service and great food. Veterans should try this place out, they treat us very well! Parking: Theres more than enough parking with a shared parking lot out front you will never have to walk too far.

Ordered pizza online paid for it. When I went to pickup the restaurant had a sign on door saying Closed due to refrigeration issues. So how was I able to order??? So I guess they just want to steal my money

Pizza is da . Maybe the best (4) cheese pizza Ive ever had. Mush and Pep was delish too. Unfortunately, the drinks did not keep up to the Za. My beer had nice flavour but came out dreadfully flat and not even close to fridge temp. Cider wasnt loved by another in our party but seemed bubbly. Another said her beer was forgetabble. Wings are baked; S&P wings were alright, but not crispy enough imo. The waitress was very helpful, prompt, and service checked often, but when she asked about the drinks, I told her I found it flat. She followed up, mentioning how someone said that recently as well. I wasnt offered a replacement, so I sipped til about half. This place is on to something special with their pizza. Im not sure when Ill be back, but it will likely be for takeout.

Hidden gem! We drive passed this place all the time and have been wanting to try it. We stopped in this afternoon for a birthday lunch and it was such a great experience. The beer was delicious and the food was amazing. Ben made our experience even better. He was super friendly, upbeat and personal. What a great place! We will definitely be stopping in regularly.

A few nights ago the weather was hot and we didnt want to cook. We decided to order pizza, and didnt want to go to the usual delivery places. Weve eaten at the Mash in the past and enjoyed it. But the two pizzas we had delivered were so disappointing that I had to post a review. They were the worst pizzas Ive had from a restaurant in over 10 years. A frozen pizza from the grocery store cooked in the microwave would have been better. The dough tasted off and was not even fully cooked. The cheese was barely melted, and the whole flavor was just gross. I tried a single slice of each, and then made a bowl of cereal. My wife had 2 slices as well, and we pitched the rest out. Both of us were sick for the rest of the night and the next day. Seriously, I cant state enough how ripped off we felt. I dont know why it was so awful. Weve eaten there in the past and it was fine, so maybe it was an off night. But if I could go lower than one star on this last experience I would.

I m telling you that this gluten free ( gluten sensitivity) pizza , mushroom pizza is the probably the only pizza I ll ever order from now on! I ve tried gf variations from probably every pizza place in St.Albert , cauliflower crust and otherwise. I m telling you that the mushroom pizza from Mash is my #1 ! I ve only ever ordered from skip but I ll be coming in to experience Mash in its entirety because I loved it so much !

Came in to get a large pepperoni mushroom pizza to go. Simple. Asked and paid for a pepsi to drink while i waited at the bar.Tipped her before getting food or drink. Server gave me a can, no glass, no ice. Seemed like because i wasnt staying in that i wasnt worthy of even a smile. Waited 20 min which is acceptable, but drove home to open a completely different pizza than what i ordered. Not even close. I expected a better experience and a correct pizza for $40. I do NOT recommend this location of MASH!

We wanted to try something different and googled best pizza in St. Albert and The Mash was top of the list so we tried it and by far the best pizza! We tried the Spicy cheeseburger pizza and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! We would drive to St-Albert for pizza again! Friendliest staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommend

Small place with great crisp crust pizza (love the dill pickle), and a variety of craft beers from Half Hitch Brewing (Cochrane, AB). EXCELLENT SERVICE.

It was completely dead on a Thursday, and they were out of a few menu items, but the waitress/kitchen was happy to alter menu items i.e. pepperoni for hamburger on pizza. They were out of one beer on tap, but the waitress offered $$ off for cans, which were more than adequate, and definitely something she didnt need to do! She was also very patient while we waited on a friend to join us. We all wished she wouldve written the order down instead of having to come back and clarify. Overall it was ok, food and service was better when they first opened.

If your looking for a place to have a beer and some Za then this is a place to check out. The pizza was exceptional and the craft beer is great. Service is quick, and friendly.

My husband had come here once before and said we had to go back together and I am SO glad he did! The pizza was fantastic, the beer just as great and the atmosphere just topped it right off. Ben took great care of us and I cannot wait to go back. A total gem here in St. Albert.

The pizza here is a little different, and in a good way. We had a large group and they didnt even blink. Moved a bunch of tables and gave us great service, great beers (HH Brown Ale 10/10), and great pies all around. Thanks you guys!!

I was excited to try the craft beer we went in and they were cleaning the pipes so no beer that was no problem. It was a super slow Friday afternoon with two tables only and our 2 pizzas order took 30 minutes. The waiter was so rude and she had such a bad attitude like she didnt want to be there and it was not even busy.. when we asked questions she was super rude and when we asked why our food took 30minutes instead of apologizing she gave us attitude !. The guy in the kitchen kept coming out to talk to his friends on the other table. Pizza was good but the service needs improvement! I would understand if it was a busy night but when there was only two tables to serve .. like common !

The pizza is so yummy. All meat and spicy Hawaiian for us. Its enough for two meals.

The person working when we went was very knowwledgeable about the food and beverages. He answered our questions quickly and helped us to make our decision. We tried the Pickle Bacon and the feature Pizza which on Jan 27th was the Chicken Ceaser Pizza. They were both good however the Pickle Bacon pizza was AMAZING and I couldnt stop eating it. My son is obsessed with pickles and I cannot wait for him to try it. the pictures posted are of the q0 pizzas. They were cut into 6 slices. They seemed to have board games stacked up on tables in a corner. I forgot to ask what they were for but I would assume for customers to play at their tables? I highly recommend trying this place out. Parking: There are a handful of spots for parking in front of this establishment. If no parking available there is parking in front of other stores and restaurants walking distance away.

Popped in to sample their beer before taking a pack home & a couple pizzas. Had their Dill Pickle & All Meat pizzas which were amazing. I am now hooked on that Dill pizza! Love the texture of the crust too. Not one bad beer in the bunch. Highly recommend supporting this place over any commercial brand! Can t wait to go back!

I ordered takeout and didnt wait too long. I went here specifically for The bacon pickle pizza which was delicious. I plan on returning if Im ever in the area again. To all the pickle lovers, i would definitely recommend this place For the pickle pizza alone. Price wise I thought it was a little too much, But the pickles definitely made up for it.... enjoy

We ve wanted to go for quite some time after a few recommendations. It did NOT disappoint! We had the spicy cheeseburger pizza and red ale along with the guava infused ALL of it was FANTASTIC!

Pizza and beer were awesome! Went mid afternoon, almost every table was left dirty and floor looked like it hasnt been swept in days with only 2 tables full. Need to keep up with housekeeping, other than that, worth the visit for pizza n beer!

Great pizza great service!

Pizza is amazing and made quick. I placed my order online and their website was a breeze to create an account and order from. The estimates arent super accurate so be prepared for the possibility of them not being busy, it will be done faster. I had an estimate of 30min and got a text after 10min stating it was ready for pick up (good thing i left right away to be early). As per the photos, I obviously could not wait to try them. I ordered both with cauliflower crusts, one is the 4 cheese and the other the pepperoni and bacon. Both are amazing!! One of the best cauli crusts Ive had to date and it doesnt take away from the rustic flavor of the pizzas. 11/10, will order both again.

My husband and I came for a lunch this afternoon! Beer is 10 stars, pizza is 10 stars (we got the mushroom and pickle/bacon YUM), the GM Ben served us and he is 1000 stars. Definitely recommend, a true gem in St. Albert! Kid-friendliness: We brought our 5 month old and Ben made us really comfortable in doing that!

The Mash St.Albert has become my families local hangout spot each week . Sometimes more than once a week :) The entire team is AWESOME, the pizza is AMAZING (try the four cheese it s soooo good) and the drinks are always great. Ben, Blair, Jake, Sam, Kaity and Tiny Chef are all amazing and they are most definitely a main reason we come back weekly. My night to pick dinner out! We never go wrong at Mash! 2 medium Pizzas and a six pack of beer for only $44. Eat in and try a few more beers on tap! Love thier Hot Hawaiian pizza and tried their Veggie which was amazing! Benjamin and his crew are always amazing and engaging with the patrons! So close to the cinemas too! Delicious pizza, great staff. Nice ambiance with music at a conversation-allowing volume. Oh, and board and card games avail to play. Awesome hidden gem! Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs at all, big bathrooms and lots of space between tables.

We live in central Edmonton and make the drive to come here. The food is fantastic, specifically the wings and pizza (we had a spicy cheeseburger pizza) and the beer menu is top notch! Once they get flight tastings, we will be in for a real treat. Please add coat hooks to the washrooms! Overall, amazing atmosphere with solid staff, food, and beer!! Oh and the price is certainly right.

Just ordered the dill pickle and bacon pizza along with the wild mushroom! All I can say is perfection! The mushroom with the parm and truffle oil and balsamic is crazy good along with real wild mushrooms, but the dill pickle steals the SHOW! crunchy dill slices with more pickle bits sprinkled on top,, crispy bacon, beautiful lolll you are Killin it ! Absolutely bussin !

Pizza good, Farmers Daughter good. Little things I would like them to work on (if possible) My wife was offered a pickle Caesar but not told it came in a can. Some of the beauty of a good Caesar is the accessories thought at least the side cup should have the fixens. We asked if we could have a 50/50 pizza. She said normally yes but they were swamped and wouldn t be offering it. And as we were waiting on our order 50/50 pizzas came out.. so that was a bit annoying (but hey an opportunity to try another pizza another time) just looking for a bit of even patronage. The wild mushroom pizza was very good. We will be back hopefully on a calm night to experience the best of service, food and atmosphere. Cheers!

The staff and management have always been amazingly accommodating, super friendly, and a load of fun to chat with anytime I go in. Places are few and far between when it comes to staff that genuinely enjoy working together. Going to The Mash St. Albert feels like I m going to see my friends and I m very glad that there hasn t been a massive turnover like you would find with other restaurants.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Mash! The ciders and beer on tap are top notch, the pizza is AMAZING. If youre willing to venture away from the typical pepperoni pizza and live a lil, this place will surpass your expectations. The mushroom pizza was to die for, we even took the recommendation to drizzle a lil honey on and wow! Even better . The restaurant is clean, trendy (without being sterile modern) and the staff were welcoming and funny! Ben and Blair will give you wonderful service and keep you laughing. Will definitely be back to make my way through the pizza menu!

Was really looking forward to trying the dill pickle pizza but... The pickles were more like sweet pickles, couldnt even taste the dill. And the bacon just didnt taste like bacon somehow.. We also thought the pizza would have been better with standard red pizza sauce. Also got the oktoberfest pizza but also thought it was very meh. Very overrated and over priced pizzas unfortunately.

The food here is of wonderful quality. The staff gives exceptional service has huge shout out to Benjamin, very courteous and professional. I am definitely coming here to future Edmonton oiler games.

I am from out of town, and i make it a personal goal of mine to visit The Mash St Albert. At first i thought the pizza combo with honey was strange but by golly it was amazing! The real reason i keep coming back is for the staff, i have no idea what Chef Ben is cooking with his team but im 10000% buying it!! just an absolute wonderful experience every time i am down and recommend it to all!

Such a fun spot! Amazing beers on tap - Our server, Sam, beer guru, found the perfect match for my husband who likes citrusy light beers with not much of the hoppy-ness and recommended the seasonal guava option which was delicious. The Spicy Cheeseburger pizza is so good - the dill pickles are actually the perfect touch on it. And the crust! A delicious crunch on the bite but soft and tender inside. We are already planning our next night back to play some board or card games from their cupboard with friends while we eat!

We ve been to the Windermere Mash but recently moved and had to give the St. Albert Mash a go SO GOOD!! Seriously, if you haven t been, go and try the dill pickle pizza, it s to die for! And the current chocolate porter on tap, drool!! Thanks for the delicious supper and great service!

This was out first time getting take out at The Mash and it certainly will not be the last! Holy, was this pizza delicious!! We got the dill pickle and bacon (based on reviews) and would highly recommend it. We also got the meat lovers and it s not your run-of-the-mill pie. The fresh herbs really make it special. The crust on these pizzas is perfectly chewy and not doughy at all. We both agreed these were the best take out pizzas we ve had! We also got a 6 pack of craft, farmers daughter pale ale. Such a fantastic beer- and can we just say how fabulous it is to be able to buy beer to go with your take out pizzas?! Brilliant! We were early for our scheduled pick up time so sat to have a cold one while waiting. The service was exceptional! Edited to 4 stars from 3 because I had reached out to the establishment about a couple of things and the manager replied in a professional and above satisfactory manner. Mediocre. Took an hour and a half for delivery. It was cold. Missing the honey drizzle on the dill and bacon pizza. Bit into a very whole grain in the crust. I may try again in a few months and eat in the restaurant in hopes its just one of those places that the food doesnt travel well. But currently not worth the $18 per pizza.

I called the Mash in St. Albert to make a reservation for 7:30 for date night to enjoy some pizza and watch the game. We were very excited to finally try the Mash. I was told over the phone you won t need a reservation we re open until 9pm . We arrived at 7:30 , The host at the counter was less then inviting, didn t offer to seat us. I had to ask if we could be seated. He said we could sit but would need to be out by 8:15 as the staff is all trying to get out of here early. I could understand if the restaurant was empty. There were 6 other tables dining at the time. I m sure they felt rushed as all the chairs had been flipped up around them. I was forced to take my business else where and a tad embarrassed in front of my date. Maybe in instances of possibly closing early an establishment would tell the customer that over the phone. This would have saved me the Uber there and an Uber right after to another local restaurant that happily accepted my business and support. I was really looking forward to trying the Dill pickle pizza. The whole situation rubbed me the wrong way and I won t be back.

Great beer and better pizza. Me and my wife get the $40.00 combo all the time. Always have leftovers.

The service was great. We also love Half Hitched brewing and the Mash is of their creation. It is nice to have that quality closer to home. The food was fresh and delicious. All for a great price! We will definitely be going back there.

Ordered from here for take out for the first time today. It was great!! I loved the pickle bacon pizza & I will definitely be ordering it again and ordering other kinds to try as well. I ate the entire thing in one sitting which is very rare for me. Yum yum.

Love the concept and small business plan. Great pricing and ethic. Really disappointed by the quality of the food. Dry, bland, a poor imitation of 90s pizza. We ended up throwing the rest of the Nashville hot chicken out, which is possibly the first time Ive ever thrown pizza leftovers out.

This was our first try at the Mash and although it didn t go according to plan (They literally blew a breaker before we walked in, so no TVs ) it was still great! We watched the game on my phone on the Telus app and had great pizza and beer. Thanks to district managers Hayley and John for entertaining us haha. We will be back for a do over soon!

Terrible!!!! Ordered 4 pizzas and they only delivered 3. The delivery guy said he would sort it out .waited an hour and never got a call or pizza. Called the store and the manager said oops they called to say we are not getting the 4th pizza .but no missed call on the phone. Manager said we would need to come into the store for a refund on the 4th pizza we never got. Never order from them again.

Absolutely recommend this place! Good vibes, great food and craft beer. The pizza is fresh and great tasting, but the BBQ chicken bites especially are phenomenal and you should try them out!

I can see a lot of potential in this spot, but unfortunately there weren t any beers on the menu that I liked. Im sure there will be more offerings in the future so I would potentially return. We got a pickle pizza that was pretty good but was absolutely covered in pickles to the point it was soggy. If you re a big beer person I m sure they have something for you :)

Too good to not let the people know! Great service, delicious pizza (try the pickle pizza) and a great selection of local craft beers. Restaurant is super clean and the patio is a huge bay door that makes it so you can sit inside with the AC while still sitting in the open air/sun. Can t wait to go back.

Wonderful place of you like delicious pizza and great beer. Had pizza the previous day, so was limited to the three or four non pizza options. Chose the meatballs and the mushrooms they were fantastic! Combine that with the great staff, and I found a winner.

Finally got the chance to come to The Mash on Saturday night with some friends. All 5 of us enjoyed the beers and food we had. I personally had the Dill Pickle and Bacon pizza which was amazing. I really enjoyed the crust which at other place I normally dont eat. The beer was cold and tasty and our server was fantastic!! Timely even though it was busy, had great suggestions and added to the already great experience. We hopefully will be back soon!

I loved it. My wife and I happened to find it just by chance and boy howdy are we happy we did. Excellent location, the beers were ice cold and the pizza was amazing. We enjoyed their seasonal wild berry ale a dill pickle and bacon pizza as well as a hot hawaiian pizza. Awesome service. 100% would recommend.

The server was friendly and engaging. We had the hot hawaiian pizza which was very tasty. The craft beer was good. I would suggest they serve flights to enjoy the variety of craft beers, without drinking too much. We will definitely go again. I would recommend this as a pizza and beer night.

Ive been waiting for Half Hitchs expansion out of Cochrane. The beer they produce is always good. The menu is pizza which is very tasty. Will have to try the locations in Edmonton.

This is a quality pizza joint! Service was fast and friendly. The pizza was delicious! It sounds weird, but make sure you try the bacon and pickle pie . The beer from Half Hitch brewing were very good as well. We enjoyed our time here and the lunch we had and will definitely be back.

We ordered the Dill Pickle & Bacon Pizza & the All Meat Pizza. Absolutely, hands down, the best pizza we ve ever had! We can t recommend them enough. We ve already told all our family & friends that this is a MUST TRY!

Had lunch there last Tuesday. I was fascinated by the use of spent grain mash for the pizza dough. We had the all meat and the wild mushroom pizzas. We both really enjoyed them. It was worth the experience. Will come back soon.

Fantastic craft pizza!! Ordered the 2 pizza Craft Pack; Dill Pickle and Bacon & Spicy Hawaiian. Pizzas were delicious and had wonderfully cut toppings on them that most pizza places just don t have anymore. Wasn t sure about pickles on my pizza, but I loved it! Choice of 6 pack craft beer also included with this $40.00 dinner. Definitely will return and support local.

Really enjoyed this place. I like the concept of linking the craft brewery with a pizza joint. The idea of using spent grain from the brewery for the crust is great. The pickle and bacon pizza sounds weird but it was delicious and well definitely have it again. This is the kind of place where its better to eat in than take out for the ambiance and they have all sorts of games you can play as well. (Not saying dont get takeout if that is your preference)
